5. Medication/illness
• We should be aware of allergies/
medical needs
• Consent form for administering
prescription medication
• Children should not carry any form of
medicine
• If your child is ill- telephone the school,
keep us updated. Do not email class
teachers- only Mrs Harding
6. Communication
• Larch weekly news: via email on Friday (all
addresses for both parents)
• Website: blogs, weekly information for each
class, curriculum coverage, dates for the
diary, etc
• Email: all staff can be contacted via email
to arrange to meet and/or share important
information. If during the day class teachers
won’t get a chance to respond, so email

9. Transition
In the Autumn Term Year 1 will be similar
to Reception in the Summer Term, in
order that the transition process is right
for the children.
There will still be opportunities for
outside learning in Year 1.

• Year 1 Phonics Screening check in the
Summer Term.
• Your child will take part in Phonics
everyday at school and will have
spellings linked to this.
17. Values
• Values are very important to support
the children with their learning.
• We will be working on a certain Value
over a period of time in order to give
the children the skills they need for
everyday life.
