"Asabiyyah" means a unification of people through a common system of beliefs, culture, language,
history, and traditions forming a community. Ibn Khaldun a historian/sociologist, describes this
through many of his aspects of writings of the 14th century, describing "the bond of cohesion among
humans in a group forming community (Wikipedia: Muuaddimah)." Asabiyyah can be from small
societies such as nomadic people in tribes, to much larger societies such as empires and states
containing sedentary people.
The Nomads were people of a tribe who would migrate around many different places in search of
new viable resources, wealth, and technology when their supply of food and land would be
exploited. The nomads were the hunter–gatherers of the 7th –13th centuries and also even having
their own livestock in most cases. They herded sheep, cattle, goats, horses, and many other animals.
Since they move from place to place so much they do not partake in agriculture so much, or even so
on a long term basis. The nomads would migrate for reasons such as to raid settled communities or
avoid approaching enemy conflicts. It being their natural way of life, living off of the land and
working for their own food and shelter, they were seen as savages in most eyes. The Nomadic

moonlight, doubled up and still." This demonstrates that although Johnny is considered a timid and
innocent person, he proves that how he acts in the gang is different from how he acts in the outside

"Dharma Master". He referred to himself as "your humble slave" , denoted Yabgu Khan as "your
highness Khan" and pleaded for the protection of the "humble slave's brother" in the "same way as
you protect your humble slave" . The rhetoric employed by the king suggests that he respected the
Turkish ruler very much and perhaps feared him a little too. It also sheds some light on the
disposition of the Turk; perhaps Yabgu Khan required such appeasement and it kept him from being
hostile as he didn't perceive the other as a threat. Another important thing to note here is that the
twenty four letters were "attached to a bolt of heavy damask" . In that particular period silk was
considered very special and it represented wealth. The Chinese also used to use silks as "effective
economic inducements when conducting diplomacy with nomadic people" (Silks and Religions in

Similar to White, this only really reflects one facet of the repressions. Also, White and Hewitt deal
with violence as reactionary moves by the repressed. While the existence of this and usefulness of
this cannot be denied, it does not answer how the repressions effect the repressed, it only answers
their reactions to the impact of the repressions, not what the repressions did specifically. Now it
could be argued that each case would have different repressions aimed towards them, even if they
are in a similar vein of repression. An example of State repression in one case could be different
from another case, but they could have a common area of impact, such as language policies.
However, this does not explain multiple cases of repression of one ethnic minority under different
States, as with my case study. Other literature, such as Saxton's article testing Gurr's Model of
Ethnopolitical Rebellion, shows that the results of repression of ethnic minorities can lead to
grievances, rebellion, mass mobilization, and possibly more repression. The problem here is that the
article looks at the repressed's actions in the face of repression, much like White and Hewitt. While
Saxton differs in scope, as his testing of Gurr's model can provide a way of identifying possible
results of repression on an ethnic minority through a theoretical model not relying on case studies, it
is a model that would most likely only work with longer term cases of

I Am A Good Problem Solver And I Have An Analytical Brain

Many people have different reasons to apply for staff. Mine will sound a little cheesy but its true. I
purely enjoy helping people. It gives me a sense of gratitude when I show someone how to do things
the right way or help someone with their issues. I am a good problem solver and I have an analytical
brain. These traits make my job easy and fun. I know that staff isn't meant to be a fun job, but
keeping a cheerful attitude on job and being friendly to players makes more people want to come
back to the server. I have two modes when being staff; one cheery light mood when I joke around
and talk with players and a serious mood when dealing with issues. I NEVER allow these two to
mix together because that could jeopardize my position and probably annoy some players. Lastly, I
know that certain people apply for the rank because they think it will bring them respect and make
them cool. I have never considered this as a reason to apply and I frankly hate these types of people.
They often end up abusing their power and getting banned. I have never abused and will never
abuse. I am applying because I believe that I have what it takes to help the server.

To begin with, I feel I should take part in the staffing community here because I ensure a large
portion of qualified time as well as extreme experiences and a sincere inclination in moderating over
the chat and providing the necessary satisfaction

Ever since I was little, my mom has repeated little sayings to my brothers and I. One of her favorites
was, "You can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose."
While this research project is not headed in the direction of nose picking, as I have gotten older, this
quote has caused me to reflect on the choices I have made in terms of who I am. If I do indeed hold
the power to choose the people who will influence my identity the strongest, why did I not choose
those who have allowed me to be authentic until now?
What is authenticity? "Being authentic means something like living in accordance with one's own
unique values and ideals," but it is greater than simply being oneself, it is "resisting the imposition
of the values and ideals of others" (Pierce 441) as well. Therefore, authenticity is also neglecting to
succumb to the beliefs of others to stay true to one's own beliefs. However, this does not mean that
authenticity is static, "an individual should engage in a process of constructing his personhood....
His task in life becomes searching for his true personhood" (381). Personhood should be a journey
of finding oneself, figuring out who one is and what one believes in. The act of evolving is part of
the discovery, but when "their acts are guided by other people's ideas of who they should be" (379)
it leads to inauthenticity because the change is made solely to fit in. All in all, authenticity is based
