2. CONSTRUCTION OFFICES
Temporary offices for the coordination of construction of the Moreton
Bay rail corridor were installed at Dohles Rocks Road Murrumba Downs
ahead of the project’s start in January 2014.
3. No Public Access Area
In the interest of the safety of the public and the construction and traffic
workers, residents and motorists are asked to avoid interaction with
heavy construction vehicles and work sites.
4. Kallangur Station
Following the clearing of vegetation, major earthworks are underway at
Kallangur, and along the entire corridor, to build the rail track, station
buildings and bridges.
5. Fill Trucks
750,000 cubic metres of material has been moved in the rail corridor to-date.
371,000 cubic metres has been excavated from Petrie and re-used
to build up the embankment along the entire corridor.
6. Dohles Rocks upgrade to four lane urban arterial road
One of 20 new bridges that make up the rail line between Lawnton and
Kippa-Ring. So far, 1700 people have worked a total of 475,000 hours on
the rail corridor project.
7. New rail bridge
Piling activities, which includes drilling holes in the ground, the
installation of reinforcement cages into the holes, and the pouring of
concrete to build the pile, are now complete for Brays and Dohles Rocks
Road bridges.
8. On Site Workers
Major works for underground services at the Murrumba Downs station
includes the installation of pipes, drainage, and foundations to support
the 55 metre long station access road bridge and construction of the lift
towers.
9. Concrete Mixer
Concrete trucks continually pour concrete into holes created by piling
rigs in preparation for the installation of piles to support the station
buildings at Murrumba Downs.
