3 songs we pick and didnt pick
1. Jessie J – Flashlight
Jessie J – flashlight has inspired me and my partner to
create our music video from it.
This is because the song ‘flashlight’ is an inspiring song
which is about a strong friendships. We believe that this
song is effective as our target audience will be able to
identify with it as they had experience a strong bond
between them and their friends.
Flashlight is a simple pop song which my main
character will be able to lip sync to.
2. SAME GIRL-USHER AND R.
KELLY
Although the song “same girl” by Usher and R. Kelly is a good
material for a music video as it is a slow paced R&B song, I had
decided not to do that song due to the fact that already existing
video matches the literal meaning of the lyrics. Therefore, if I was
to recreate that video it would be too predictable for my target
audience which might have discourage my audience to watch my
music video as they already know what’s going to happen. For this
reason, I will not use this song for my music video.
3. SATURDAYS-WHAT ABOUT US
The song ‘ what about us’ by Saturdays is a vibrant pop song aimed at young
teenage audience. I have not pick this song for my music video because the song
is sang by a girl group which would mean that I would have to organised dance
choreography rehearsals that would suit all of my crew. This would create
problems as not everyone would be available on the same days which would
elongate the process of the creation of the music video. Also, it would be too
difficult to find 5 girls who can lip sing as to this fast pace tune and be able to
dance well enough for the music video. Having to consider these factors, I didn’t
pick this song for my music video.
