Essay on Racial Cultural Identity Developement Model
Running head: RACIAL/ CUTURAL IDENTITY DEVELOPMENT MODEL
Racial/Cultural Identity Development Model
Ericka Ashe–Lane
Troy University
One of the most promising approaches to the field of multicultural counseling/therapy has been the work on racial/cultural identity development among
minority groups. This model acknowledges within groups differences that have implications for treatment. The high failure–to–return rate of many
clients seems to be intimately connected to the mental health professional's inability to assess the cultural identity of clients accurately. The model also

The person's desire to eliminate oppression of the individual's minority group becomes an important motivation of the individual's behavior, which
ultimately may be motivated by the affective feelings of guilt, shame, and anger (Sue & Sue, 2008).
The next stage in the R/CID model is Introspection. The individual begins to discover that this deep seeded hatred of the dominate group is
psychologically draining. Moreover, the energy used to hate the dominate group is not conducive to their understanding neither themselves nor their
own racial–cultural group. The resistance and immersion stage tends to be a reaction against the dominant culture and is not proactive in allowing the
individual to use all energies to discover who or what he or she is. The minority shows concerns for the basis of the self–appreciation. Self–definition
in the previous stage tends to be reactive (against White racism), and a need for positive self–definition in a proactive sense emerges.
The minority individual experiences feelings of discontent and discomfort with group views that may be quite rigid in the resistance and immersion
stage. A Latino individual that may form a deep relationship with a person outside their culture may experience considerable pressure from his or her
culturally similar peers to break off the relationship because that person is the "enemy." However, the personal experiences of the individual at

Models and Theorists in Organizational Development
Edgar Schein Modification of the Three Stage Process:
Edgar Schein modified the three stage process through specifying the psychological mechanisms involved in each stage.
In stage 1, unfreezing is where disconfirmation creates hassle and discomfort, which causes guilt and anxiety and drives and motivates the person
towards change. But unless the person feels comfortable with dropping the old behaviors and adopting new ones then change will not occur. This
means the person must be psychologically safe in order to replace the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
5.Structure: The study of structure should not be confined to hierarchical structure; rather it should be a function based structure focusing on the
responsibility, authority, communication, decision making and control structure that exists between the people of the organization.
6.Systems: Systems includes all types of policies and procedures with regards to both the people and the operations of the organization.
7.Management Practices: This would entail a study of how well the mangers conform to the organization's strategy when dealing with employees and
the resources.
8.Work Unit Climate: It is a collective study of how the employees think, feel and what do they expect. The kind of relationships the employees share
with their team members and members of other teams is also an important aspect of work unit climate.
9.Tasks and Skills: This involves understanding what a specific job position demands and the kind of kind of skills and knowledge that an employee
must have in order to fulfill the task responsibilities of that job position. It is important to see how well jobs and employees have been matched.
10.Individual Values and Needs: This dimension seeks to explore the employee's opinion about their work so as to identify the quality factors that will
result in job enrichment and better job satisfaction.
11.Motivation Level: Identifying the motivation level of

A Brave New World: New Ideas
44 Everyday in this world has been developing gradually. As we all heared; "The only thing that never change is the changing itself." And this
quote is correct for most people because we know that the world is rounding and two evenings are never same. In this rounding world, new ideas
come out everyday: some of them are dying but some of them changes the world. Most of inventions that we use in our daily life is based on 20th
century. Of course in our time technology and science is far more developed however, to develop something you should invent it and that happened on
20th century. This developements are sometimes terrifying. When some device is too developed people are addicting to it e.g cell phone. It becomes
a part of our life

Evolution: How Species Changes Due To Natural Selection
Evolution is how a species changes over time due to natural selection. There are many pieces of evidence proving evolution and that we all came from
a common descendant. One piece of evidence of evolution is fossil records. Fossil records are remains of live fossilized in rocks, wood, bones, or
frozen in ice or trapped in plant resin. Fossil records show evidence of evolution because some fossil recrods look reallt similar to some animals alive
today, which means that they slighly evolved to survive in the new enviroments that mother nature introduced them.
Another peice of evidence of evolution is comparative anatomy. Comparative anatomy is the studdy of similarities and differences in the sstructure of
different species, The similar body

Raisin In The Sun Morals
In life people have ups and downs; the characters in A Raisin in the Sun experience many highs and many lows. Throughout the story there are
many decisions that the characters toss around and debate. Mama, the mother of the family, receives $10,000 which is a very large sum of money
for their family. It is up to Mama to decide where the money should go. The Characters in the story developed and their true desires are shown
through the choices they make. The characters are faced with many obstacles and these hurdles reveal their character and help to shape the overall
plot. In Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun, the struggle to overcome oppression in order to actualize one's dream is revealed through the character
developement of Walter, Beneatha, and Mama. In Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun, Walter's character evolves from a man that puts money over
everything into someone who cares about his family's name. In the beginning of the story Walter desires wealth above all else; he says, "I want so
many things that they are driving me kind of crazy...Mama – look at me." (1.2.54). This quote shows that Walter has let his desire of instant
gratification overcome his love for his family. Walter believes in get–rich–quick techniques such as risky investments. Walter initially believes the
money should be invested in a scheme that will empower him and provide him with financial independence. Walter views the money as a way of
proving his self– worth. However, at the end of the story Walter

Disadvantages Of Product Platform Planning
Question 1 1.1 Product platform planning seeks to decide on which product developments are to be worked on, while deciding on the time frame and
order of each project that is to be worked on. Product development ideas stem from sources such as consumers and marketing. The degree of
competition from other company's affects the product planning. In order to grasp the basic concept of product platform planning, one has to
understand that the platform is a sum of assets shared by a range of products. For example Blue Ribbon produces bread with the basic shared
requirement of wheat while creating variants of bread. The assets are categorised as follows: People and relationships: consists of relationship with the
suppliers; relationships between group members and the relationship between team and the organisation.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the product label cannot state its effect on flu. –Slimming and dieting products for losing weight are still not dealt with and consumers
will be left clueless as to which products can be beneficial to their specific health needs. –Since labels cannot mention any statements of enhanced
nutrition, the consumer would have to go through the effort of comparing products to see which has more of the nutrient they want more of.
–Consumers will not know which products contain probiotics, which is essential for a healthy gastrointestinal tract. –Manufacturers of products with a
low glycaemic index will not be allowed to state it on labels. Blue Ribbon Fuel bread has stated Low GI on the label, therefore breaking a label law.

Mentorship Tips
My general goal for the year includes training the next generation of cadets. I also have some specific goals I will complete during the upcoming term.
First, I think mentorship between cadets needs to step up and play an active role in week to week activities. Even though the 130th has an outstanding
group of cadet leaders currently, many newer cadets seem to lack the interest or understanding to take the next step in their leadership journey;
mentorship will assist in providing novice cadets with the necessary tools and encouragement to succeed. Secondly, giving cadets personalised classes
through more leadership classes. Providing grade related tips from experienced cadets showcases another way to engage cadets and it would be great

Renaissance , a French word which means rebirth in English, is the period in European civilization immediately appears after the Middle Ages and
reaches up to the 17th century. It is regarded as the beggining of cultural movement in Italy which was continued by radical changes in lots of branches
such as literature, art, science etc. and later spreaded to the rest of Europe. There is a common arguement which emphasizes that the origins of the ideas
characterizing the Renaissance was particular in Dante Alighieri's and Petrachs's writings as well as in the paintings of Giotto di Bondone. A significant
part of the Renaissance was a cultural and intellectual movement called Humanism. It was a human based philosophy which emphasized human
potential that all people should endeavour to be educated and learned in the classical arts, literature, and science. This modernization made an unusual
culture to be born. My Thesis Statement is based on the process of the differentation between European and Eastern countries that happened as a result
of changes in Renaissance and Humanism. Not only in scientific or artistic but also in cultural aspects, there has been a great development in Europe
which made the situation opposite of the Medieval Period.By Renaissance Europe has not only reached the developement level of eastern countries but

this class could use their branded phone now. Let 's start to think about the implication from the case study on HTC as a pioneer in smart phone
industry. At first we are going to talk the purpose and course of this case. The second we gonna talk is the firm introduction, the third one is the
summary of network industry and then we gonna analyze the main issue on this case and strategy of HTC. At the last, we gonna show the present
business status of HTC. The first chapter is the purpose and course of HTC. The case analysis what we are showing through case 13 is about their

So, they could occupy the segment of mobile market by taking orders from o2 and other firms. And THEN HTC could get a help to occupy the
market segment through like a firm bt who wanted to pioneer a new market in EUROPE. But other ODM competitors made an inroad into smart
phone ODM market so HTC made a decision to launch their brand. Second, the expansion by HTC owned brand. HTC could own their brand
without other firm 's order. In 2006, HTC released touched screen phone with their HTC logo. They made a composition of strong strategic
management team and invested into R&D part. But the firm faced with some troubles as like public, investor, ODM order and so on. This
troubles that HTC faced will talk at following discussion. The second main issue is the threaten of appearing new competitors. When HTC released
touched screen phone in 2007, apple entered into same market with same technology. Other leading firms as NOKIA and MOTOROLA thought the
technology didn't be prefered by customers. Appearance of apple was the threaten factor to HTC. Especially, in smart phone market, the relationship
with network operators was very required so IPHONE of apple was sold by only AT&T. However, HTC had a relationship with VERIZON,
T–MOBILE and SPRINT. The third main issue is the contents about core

Evolution Is It Really A Theory?
Evolution, is it really a theory? I'll let you decide. My job is to give you some evidence on evolution. A few nice examples of proof of evolution are,
DNA Sequences, Anatomical structures, embryological developement, analogous structures, and fossil records. What is Evolution? Evolution is "the
process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth."
(oxforddictionaries)
The evolutional theory has many sources of proof. Starting with DNA Sequences. How scientists can infer that animal are have a common ancestor by
DNA sequences. In DNA sequences scientists look at the patterns and common genes that appear in animals that they have in common to see if far
down the road they had a common ancestor. A common ancestor can also lead to something like a Homologous structure.
A homologous structure is a structure that animals have in common. For an example, humans, bats, rabbits, frogs, penguins, they have a similar arm
bone structure.(evolution.berkeley) Homologous structures could be evidence of common ancestry, and common DNA Sequences for skeletal structure.
Animals that have a common DNA sequences could end up with the same bones but built slightly different. If you already have DNA and it causes no
problems what would be the point of completely rewriting the DNA code when you already have a working code?(icr)
A very big evidential proof of genetic variation, or evolution, is embryo

Moral Developement Model
Lawrence Kohlberg believe that most Americans were at stage 3 and stage 4 of his moral developement model. I agree with Kohlberg's take on
stage 3 but I totally disagree with his take on stage 4. In my opinion, most Americans are at stage 1 and stage 3. In todays day and age people are
more concerned with how others preceive them and people want to be socially accepted by others. In addition to people wanting social acceptance from
others, they do things morally to avoid the backlash of negative consequences from authority or being punished by authorities.
I accept Kohlberg's choice on stage 3, many Americans do want to be liked, and admired. According to the text, people in this stage justify what is
morally right through the acceptance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many laws and rules are put in place to protect people from being harmed, but people stay clear from breaking them from fear of disciplinary
actions. I must admit that I myself and others I know have done moral acts to avoid consequences and sanctions not thinking about my safety but
thinking about the punishment if I do so. For example, when I was in high school me and my friends use to jaywalk across the street because the
crosswalk was so far from where we were headed, but if there was a sheriff's officer's vehicle sitting near by we would avoid this illegal act of
jaywalking so we won't get in trouble. To be honest, there are many other acts I stay away from so I won't receive discipline from authoritative
figures and I am sure that is the same reason why many other Americans follow the rules and abide by the law.
To conclude, Americans fall under stage 1 and stage 3 of Kohlberg's moral development theory in my opinion. Most people yearn for acceptance
from others such as friends, family, and people they don't fully now by acting morally so they would be seen as a morally good person. People also
take part in moral acts so they won't be punished for doing otherwise. Out of all the six stages of Kohlberg moral development I trully believe these
two stage apply more to todays American

He started out by joining the SS in 1931, and formed an organization for gathering information, the SD (Sicherheitsdienst), or SS Security Service.

In 1941, Reinhard Heydrich had made the calls that killed a massive number of people. The half a million jews who died from starvation and murder
in Ghettos such as Warsaw and Krakow were ordered by Heydrich to be sent there.
By 1939, he was given complete control over the Reich Main Security Office (RSHA). This final group he 'd gained power over, involving the SD,
Criminal Police and Gestapo was the group responsible for the unthinkable amount of deaths in Europe. While leader of this organization, he 'd now
been attending important Nazi conferences. While at a conference on January, 20, 1942, Reinhard Heydrich declared the final solution to the Jewish
question The usage of Zyklon–B had then been decided for the extermination of Jews at death camps after being deported to the east. The first camp
that this methode began at was Auschwitz, where three million had been killed, most from gas chambers.
That was Reinhard Heydrich 's rise to power, his role and impact on the developement on the holocaust. Froming joining the SS to announcing the

Andrew Keldgord Personal Statement
I am an architect and owner of the firm, Shan McNaughton, Inc. My firm designs a variety of projects types such as custom residential office

Throughout that period his work ethic, force of personality, and sharp scientific mind have been of incalculable importance to the success of my
business. I am writing today to offer my highest recommention that Andrew Keldgord be admitted to the school of medicine for the 2016 class. Andrew

Essay on Sensitive Periods in Developement
Sensitive Periods in Developement The child does not grow uniformly and homogeneously like a crystal or a carrot, but by stages or phases, which
succeed one another and which, differ from one another. For proper growth and development it is necessary that the potentialities for developing
human relationships with which the infant is born be exposed to the organizing influences of another human being. Accumulating evidence indicates
that there exist critical developmental periods during which the organism is ready for differential development, within which periods it must receive
the proper stimulations if it is to develop adequately. These critical developmental periods may be broadly outlined as follows: 1)The period during...

2)Maternal deprivation for a period varying for days within the first and second years, and weeks or months during the third and fourth years.
3)Changes from one mother–figure to another during the first four or five years. With respect to the reality of the critical developmental periods, it is,
of course, well known that such critical developmental periods exist in the development of the body, with the principle well established that the earlier
the interference with their development the more widespread will the disturbance in growth be. Tissues must reach a certain stage of differentiation
before they can respond; later such tissues achieve a certain relative fixity, so that they can yield. Prenatal environmental influences For many years , in
fact, it was believed that the baby in the uterus was completely insulated form all outside influences, but now we know that is not entirely true.
Environmental influences ranging from radioactivity and stress in the outside world to drugs, chemicals, hormones, and viruses in the mother's
bloodstream can affect prenatal development. Even though the placenta acts as a filter, keeping the blood of the mother and the fetus from mixing, a
number of potentially dangerous substances can pass through it. And, of course, if the

food was produced. This change had a major political, social, and economic impact on societies and regions. Due to this, many new advances were
produced. This helped civilization to become more sophisticated, more civilized, and more organized. This shift from gathering berries and hunting

These roads also had a social effect such as communication between government officials and average people which improved tremondously. One
political effect would be due to coinage which increase the unity of the government. In conclusion, the change in how food was produced had a great
social, economical, and political impact on societies and regions such as the Sumerians and the Persians. Food was now produced through farming and

Acid Rain Problems
An Overview OF AREAS IN THE WORLD THAT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH ACID RAIN
What areas in the world have problems with acid rain?
Areas that have problems with acid rain are those that contain many running cars and a large population of people in one place, such as cities. Areas
near electric companies that burn fossil fuel or manufacturing industries also face acid rain. Even areas that are far from electric companies and
manufacturing industries face the wrath of acid rain as SO2 and NOx can travel far through wind and air currents.
Why do they have acid rain?
These places have acid rain because of the amount of SO2 and NOx that is being created. The burning of fossil fuels that electric companies do release
sulfur dioxide that spreads through the air, which forms acid rain. Heat that radiates off internal combustion engines(cars) forms nitrogen dioxide.
Which is also used in the making of acid rain. With the amount of cars that are being used in one city, acid rain is bound to be a problem.
What damages does acid rain cause?
1. Acid rain breaks down the metal of structures in cities, like buildings and statues.
2. It pollutes the water and kills living organisms in ecosystems.
3. It creates smog and pollutes the air.
What are five thing we can do to prevent acid rain and the damage it causes?
1. We can change the way we create energy, instead burning fossil fuels we could use some alternative method.
2. Instead of driving to work or school, people could walk or take a bike, or

Essay about Mozart k310 sonata (2nd movement)
Mozart k310 sonata (2nd movement) Analyzation
The 2nd movement of the Mozart k310 Piano Sonata resembles standard sonata form in many ways. It opens with a first theme in F (same as key
signature). The theme is four bars long; two bars of antecedant, two bars of consequent. Mozart then starts the first theme again with a 32nd note run
pick–up instead of the 16th note arpeggio pick–up in the the begginning of the piece so we are prepared for variation in the second statement of the first
theme. He then continues the theme with variation until the consequent phrase which is completely different from the first consequent phrase. This
new consequent has not only faster rythmic movement but also compressed harmonic rythym. This tension ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The I chord confuses the tonal direction becasuse the listener expects the ii to be followed by V and then I. This is even more confusing because the
scale that accompanies the I chord implies V (the chord the listener wants to hear). The next bar rounds off this cadential prolongation (ii–V–I) but the
exposition does not yet end. The arrival to I does not occur until beat three of the bar. The first two beats create even more prolongation as they nearly
modulate. And even after this, the exposition is not done. There is a two bar codetta (a one bar figure played twice, the second time with variation)
before the strong V7–I cadence with a C pedal tone. This is the first very strong cadence since the start of the closing material. Since the cadence at
the end of the exposition is to C without any hint of F as a tonic, the Developement begins in C. In fact, it is clearly in C as its pick–ups are a C
arpeggio and the first bar looks and sounds like I and shows no indication of a 'Bb' or any other scale alteration. The opening of the developement is
also a textural change but seems to resemble old material in its melody. Both the first theme and the second theme have similar figures to the new
material. The developement starts with tonal movement in each of the first two measures, I in the first measure and ii6 in the second. In the third bar
the harmonic rythym increases with a I64 for the first two beats and a V7 in

Vygotsky's Social Developement Theory
Vygotsky's Social Developement theory focused on the connections between people and the social and cultural context, in which they act and interact
with others. According to Vygotsky, humans use tools that develop from a culture, such as speech and writing, to mediate their social environments.
Intinitally children develop these tools to serve solely to communcate needs. Vygotsky believed that the internatlization of these tools led to higher
thinking skills. Bandura believed in "reciprocal determinism", that is the world and a person's behavior cause each other. However behaviorism states
that one's environment causes one's behavior, Bandura who was studying adolescent aggression, found this to be too easy of a fix and so he suggest
that behavior causes environment as well. Later, Bandura soon... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not that it is completey correct and the only deciding factor, but I do believe that after a certain point in our childrens lives, culture does dictate the
paths they take and their developement in many stages along that path. Along with the different interpersonal relationships they have while walking
the paths that society/culture have laid out for them. Teachers and school curriculum along with the friendships they develope with their peers
continues throught most of a child life starting at the age of 5 continuing through highschool and how ever many years they attend college, careers
and the service if thats the path they choose to continue the cycle. I believe that what we see, hear, experience is a big part of who we become and
is a big part of how we evolve or change throughout our entire life, but these are changes that continue after we are born and our genetic
predispositions are in place and we've learned all the basics of gettting around and obtaining knowledge from our family life, we are then thrust into the

Following Janie's Developement in Their Eyes Were...
People grow and develop at different rates. The factors that heavily influence a person's growth are heredity and environment. The people you meet
and the experiences you have are very important in what makes a person who he/she is. Janie develops as a woman with the three marriages she has.
In each marriage she learns precious lessons, has increasingly better relationships, and realizes how a person is to live his/her life. In Their Eyes
Were Watching God, by Zora Neale Hurston, Janie's marriages to Logan Killicks, Jody Starks, and Tea Cake are the most vital elements in her growth
as a woman.

Janie's first dream was dead, so she became a woman" (24). Janie's prayer is her final plea for a change in her life. She says "Lawd, you know mah
heart. Ah done de best Ah could do. De rest is left to you" (23).
Janie's prayer is answered with her next husband, Jody Starks. He is the man who fills the voids of loneliness and love, and continues her development
as a woman. When they first met, Janie was convinced that Jody believed she was a very special person because of the compliments he gave her.
For two weeks, before they married, they talked and Janie believed that Jody "spoke for change and chance" (28). The problem Janie had with
Jody was that he did not treat her as equal. He would not let her speak in front of people, teach her to play checkers, or participate in other events.
Janie notices the problem early in the relationship and confronts Jody about it when she says "it jus' looks lak it keeps us in some way we ain't
natural wid one 'nother. You'se always off talkin' and fixin' things, and Ah feels lak Ah'm jus' markin time. Hope it soon gits over" (43). Janie
realizes that she cannot be open with Jody and that he is not the same man she ran off with to marry. Jody has many of his own interests, and none of
them are concerned with Janie. "She found out that she had a host of thoughts she had never expressed to him ... She was saving up feelings for some
man that she had never seen" (68). Jody only gave material goods to Janie. She knew she

Urban Consolidation And Its Effects On The Fringe Areas Of...
"Urban consolidation is the process of increasing or maintaining the density of housing in established residential areas. The ultimate aim of urban
consolidation is to reduce development on the fringe areas of the city. It is often realised by densification, high–rise development and urban renewal."
The process of Urban Consolidation involves an increase in the number of houses or apartments within existing areas so that they can have more
efficient use of services and reduce the impact on the environment. Urban Consolidation is used as a means to reduce the total amount of land needed
to house the population. Ultimately it is through the; demographics and population, changing nature of the built environment, and transport, that a
study of urban consolidation in chatswood can be underaken. There are two main componetns to population change, in this case population growth.
These are natural increase and migration. In 2001 Chatswood had a population of 16,006 people. This increased to 20,967 by 2011. In 2001 the
fertility rate in Chatswood was 1.74, not replacement level however with a young population it meant substantial growing for the next few years. As
well as this there was a surge in migration, mainly being asian immigrants. Transcript of an interview with Nicholas Murphy. When did you move

Morality Of Homelessness
Homelessness not only affects politics, the economy, and social environments, it also heavily influences morality. Should homelessness continue in its
current state, the moral compass of humanity as a whole will be thrown off. Caring for those around us who have experienced troubles should be
something that is actively sought to fix, not ignored. By ignoring the issue, we create an aura of indifference to, not just human suffering, but suffering
that we experience close to our homes. The continuing existence of homelessness can be seen as a contradiction to the Building Blocks of Catholic
Social Teaching, especially The Principle of Solidarity, The Principle of the Common Good, and The Principle of Preferential Protection for the Poor

Obesity: Developement Responses In The Body
Obesity is known to produce a number of stress and inflammation responses in the body that lead to the activation of the inflammatory signalling
molecules, Jun NH2–terminal kinase (JNK) and inhibitory kB kinase (IKK). Activation of these pathways plays a key part in the development of
insulin resistance followed by progression to diabetes as they greatly affect inflammatory responses, insulin signalling, and lipid and glucose
homeostatis (Nakamura et al. 2014). For example, activating the JNK pathway leads to serine phosphorylation of insulin receptor substrate (IRS)
proteins which results in inhibited insulin signalling and thus insulin resistance. Double–stranded RNA–dependent protein kinase (PKR) has recently
been shown to control the JNK and other major inflammatory pathways, to directly inhibit insulin signalling, to be activated by fatty acids as well
as endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, and to be necessary for the activity of inflammasomes (Nakamura et al. 2010; Komiya et al. 2010; Lu et al.
2012). Moreover, PKR has been found to be highly activated in obese people as well as mice with genetically and diet–induced obesity, especially in
adipose and hepatic tissues (Boden et al. 2008; Nakamura et al. 2010; Carvalho–Filho et al. 2012). Finally, recent studies have found that PKR
knockout obese mice were protected against both IR and obesity–triggered inflammation and that administration of PKR inhibitors reduced JNK
activation, reduced inflammation in adipose

Roanoke, City Of The South
Roanoke, VA is a valley located in Southwest Virginia. Our history began in the 1700's when Roanoke was then known as 'big lick' due to the many
salt licks in the area. It is a little valley about 43 square miles surrounded by mountains. It has also been referred to as the star city of the south due to
our large star atop of Mill Mountain.
It is a very diverse community; it has a population of over of over 200,000. With the "estimated median household income in 2015: $39,835 (it was
$30,719 in 2000)" (City–Data, 2017), we have low crime rates and many tourist attractions of which many are historic sites. We have local airport,

"Creation of green space, and mixed residential and commercial development along the Roanoke River corridor.
Better utilization of other industrial and commercial zoned property.

The Developement of Civilization Essay
The Developement of Civilization
According to Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary, civilization is "a relatively high level of cultural and technological development, specifically
the stage of cultural development at which writing and the keeping of written records is attained". Other sources trace the meaning of civilization to
political, economic, military and social structures as well as the heightened intellectual and artistic aspects of life (Spielvogel, xxxi). Civilization
developed as the crises of everyday life necessitated change. As history progresses, we study our past in search of guidance and other crucial

It is taken from the fossils of these people that language may well have began in this form of human (Lerner,8). They had enlarged cavities in the front
of the neck. Soon different dialects would run rampant. These people, the Neanderthals, were also nomadic. They followed the herds along their
migratory patterns and gathered other sustenance consisting mostly of plants and their roots along the way. It is believed that approximately 400,000
years ago, Homo erectus learned to use fire (Lerner,9). They also began to travel farther distances, for the earliest evidence of the wheel used in
travel was found to be in 35,000 BCE (Calder,54). There is conflicting information as to when the Homo erectus began evolving into the Homo
sapien. Some say it was in 28,000 BCE (Lerner,9), others say it was between 18,000 and 13,000 BCE (Spielvogel,3). Facts would point to the earlier
years, where the Sumerian city–states, Egyptian Civilization (especially the Old Kingdom), and cuneiform began to emerge. "Groups of people
advanced beyond their old hunting grounds at a rate of only two or three miles per generation (Spielvogel,3)." They began making waterproof shelters
of their own. With this new advance in addition to the discovery and use of fire, man was able to move to climates other than the reasonably
comfortable settlements of

Middle Ages Inventions
How the Middle Ages made our lives easier
The Middle Ages, often called the Dark Ages, was famous for its numerous inventions. They had a variety of weapons and tools. Their inventions
helped them with everyday life and some we still use to this day. Simple tools were used to make these inventions. Most inventions were made for
everyday life but some were made for war.
The inventions in the middle ages impacted everyday life. The invention of the clock provided closer structure to daily life. The wheelbarrow
allowed faster monenent of heavy loads from place to place, it is used today for gardening and farmwork, as a couple of examples of how we use
the wheelbarrow in today's world. Farming inventions enabled the people of the Middle Ages to increase their food production to feed a growing
population. One of the other inventions that helped feed a growing population was the plough. It made tilling of the land for crops easier in the Middle
Ages. Nautical inventions were one of the areas that saw the most impressive developement, from navigation to steering, power, and everything about
the way boats and sailors worked together changed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

invention of the cannon. The tack we use today were invented during the time period for the knight to fight battles more efficiently on their horses.
Tack includes the stirrup, bridle, and bit. Chainmail and armour was used to provide even more protection against the enemy's blade. Some other
weapons that were invented at this time was the lance, longbow, the crossbow, and flail. Tools that were invented during the Middle Ages to help build

Mood and Its Developement
Mood is the feeling the reader gets from reading a piece of literature. If it is properly made it can be felt through the main character or the text. Many
literary devices can aid the development of mood in a passage. In "Denn Die Todten Reiten Schnell," Stroker uses techniques of diction, types of
imagery, and elements of narrative stance to create a dominant impression of fear.
The author selects techniques of diction such as connotation, repetition, and onomatopoeia, to establish the fear is the overall excerpt. He manipulates
connotation to enhance the mood. As the character is driven about the midnight landscape by the mysterious coachman, he notices the "frowning rocks"
hanging over the road, a "ghostly flicker" of blue light which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wild animals are technically never a sign of something good. They are wild, ferocious creatures craving for flesh, meat and blood. One wolf is bad, but
a ring of wolves can be great trouble. Now wolves with "long sinewy legs" is not a good sight either. They help create the feeling of fear; the fear of
being devoured and never heard from again. It also helps the reader see the setting better and making it more possible to apply themselves into that
setting of fright.
The author picks personification to increase the impact of the mood of fear. As the travelers pass the narrow roadway and are "hemmed" in with
trees," they listen to the wind, which "moaned and whistled," like a person in great pain. Personifying the setting further develops the ominous
background the reader is experiencing. As the scenery is being brought to life the reader cannot help, but to experience fright. The moaning and
whistling of the wind acts like a psychological distraction to the narrator. While nature is taking a form of it's own, he is being surrounded by it and
practically being captured and taunted by it. Point of view, tone, and persona are selected by the author to reinforce the overarching impression of fear.
Bram Stoker chooses first person point of view to re–apply the aura of fear to the excerpt. Psychologically the repetitive usage of the pronoun "I"
triggers the reader to refer to oneself as "I" therefore

Why Is It Better To Have Single Gendered Schools
Out of Co–Ed schools and Single Gender schools I would choose Co–Ed schools the reason why is because boys and girls are not separated so that
means that they can have a more experienced life with each other instead of without. If they never had Co–Ed schools than boys and girls would never
experience life around each other and if they could not then that means that when they get older they would never know about each other. If they only
had Single Gender schools, that would be a bad thing because they would not be able to experience a regular life when they get older around girls or
boys. The three reasons I will be talking about why I chose Co–Ed schools is devastating, development, and entertainment. Also the reason I chose
devastating is because if their parents did not know about the single gendered schools than their parents would have a fit because the schools never
told them about what was going on.Also if the parents kids go to separate schools and are car ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along with the Co–Ed schools the reason why I chose entertainment is because if boys and girls were at the same schools then the boys would start
entertaining the girls on how strong, intelligent,or awesome they are at a specific thing. The other reason I chose entertainment is because if there is
not someone that is the clown in the class then someone else will entertain the class instead of being the clown. For example if someone was at a party
and the person that they are looking for did not come then they would have a clown come in and entertain everyone while the person is trying to arrive

Developement Tell Us: Article Analysis
The following section was entitled "What Does Developement Tell Us," and in it, Jeffery described the developmental phases of Astyanax because
"evolutionary changes proceed through alterations in development." By describing the different phases, Jeffery was able to point out the places where
the development of the eyes in cavefish morphologies is different from the surface–dwelling fish. The first phase of eye development in both forms of
the Astyanax is the appearance of optic vesicles, and with this appearance and other simultaneous mechanisms, the eye primordia, consisting of the lens
vesicle, an optic cup with an inner retinal layer and an outer retinal pigment epithelium layer, and optic stalk, forms. I found it extremely important ...

Secondly, pigment cells do not differentiate due to obvious deficiency in rhodopsin–expressing rod photoreceptor cells. Finally, the cornea, iris, and
ciliary body do not develop, although neural crest cells migrate to the eye region like in surface fish, and sclera, although present, remains
cartilaginous instead of ossified. The author went into very great detail describing the processes of development of the fish eye, but I had an
extremely hard time following along with what he was saying because it was very difficult to picture all of the structures he was describing. I
gained quite a bit of understanding from the pictures and figures provided, but I really would have appreciated more detailed diagrams that pointed
out the specific structures discussed. This section gave me a much larger appreciation for the complexity of the eye, and its overall point was to
prove that cavefish eye develops normally for a considerable amount of time before finally disappearing due to failure to keep up with overall body
growth. These finding do not support the hypothesis that proposes loss of function of genes involved in early eye development. It also discounts the
hypothesis that the embryonic eye was eradicated in order to conserve

Should Children Have Screen Time
Although both arguements seem reasonable I feel there should be a screen time limit for children. Being in front of a screen takes children away
from human interaction. Children should be playing and using their imagination whether its inside or outside. In personal experiences, screen play
takes a mental and physical toll on children. In my personal opinion there is no reason to have children in front of a screen for longer than an hour or
two a day. While achild is sitting in front of a screen for hours on end they arent paying any attention to the outisde world or their surroundings.
Instead of playing on a tablet or computer or watching t.v they could be playing a board game or reading with family or friends. I can ask my children

They should be outside playing games and making their own things up. Children need to use their own original thinking and problem solving.
This will help their brain developement and skills they will need in life. Screen time is mentally draining for children. The light from the screen
throws off our body clocks and can disrupt sleep. When a child doesnt sleep enough they are more irritable and their physical activity level will go
down. This can also lead into obesity. Children need physical activity. Whos to say they will go outisde? Well children wont have many options if
screen time is taken away. Even if its not outside they will still be doing something other than just sitting on a couch. If a child gets enough sleep
they will have the energy to do other things both physically and mentally. Screen play is mentally draining and can cause depression. In my personal
experience with my own son screen play causes him depression, especially before bed. What ever he watches or plays the night before interupts his
sleep. It also negatively impacts his imagintion, causing him to have night mares. All of this could be avoided if we sat down with our children and
read them a book or played a game with them

How Did The Developement Of The Germ Theory
The germ theory began when one scientist became motivated to disprove the theory of spontaneous generation. This curiosity and motivation led to
major changes in the health of humanity. This theory helped the future generations while providing methods to prevent disease. The developpement of
the germ theory allowed other scientists to expand on this concept and develop ways to apply information to care for individuals with disease and help
in the modern world. Microorganisms are miniscule, they easily invade humans, animals and other living hosts which then lead to disease. Louis Pasteur

the realization that handwashing helps prevent the spread of disease and disinfection can eliminate germs. Disinfection and handwashing affected
humanity because the rates of infectious disease began to decline and epidemics lasted for a shorter time spand and overall mortality decreased as a
result. The introduction of the theory affected how humanity viewed the human body. People began to believe that dirt contained microorganisms and
could cause an infection, which lead to bathing frequently. Alongside his discovery were his inventions, for example the machine used to screen and

Developement Of Europe Essay
Development of Europe
The notions of "modernity," "modernization," and "modernism" play an important role in better understanding the development of Europe. These three
concepts can be applied to a range of transformations in the areas of politics, socio–economics, and culture respectively. The three concepts are
connected, yet each has its own unique qualities that are useful in understanding the changes across Europe in this period. These ideas are crucial to the
better comprehension of the creation of the Europe of today.
To understand the significance of the terms, it is important to first understand the terms themselves. "Modernity" was a term used around the French ...

The common workers were forced to move from the country into the cities where they could find work in the factories. This notion of the movement
from country life to urban life epitomizes "modernization." This movement shows that things are "modernizing." Up until this point most of the worlds
population existed in the country and as people moved into the city the world including England became more modern like today, with the majority of
the population in urban regions. The processes of industrialization lead to and basically are what "modernization" is defined as. By understanding the
process of industrialization, "modernization" can be better seen and understood.
Finally, "modernism" is predominantly a term referring to a cultural movement. In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries it was a cultural
celebration of the notion of progress. People were rejecting the superficial, material excess and looking down inside themselves. This rejection of
the material excess is embodied by many of the authors and artists of the time. For instance, the Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen's character of
Nora in his play A Doll's House is the perfect example. Nora's rejection and leaving of her loveless and oppressive marriage shows the shrugging off
of the will of the society in exchange for one's own happiness. Another

Essay On Racial Cultural Identity Developement Model

  • 1. Essay on Racial Cultural Identity Developement Model Running head: RACIAL/ CUTURAL IDENTITY DEVELOPMENT MODEL Racial/Cultural Identity Development Model Ericka Ashe–Lane Troy University One of the most promising approaches to the field of multicultural counseling/therapy has been the work on racial/cultural identity development among minority groups. This model acknowledges within groups differences that have implications for treatment. The high failure–to–return rate of many clients seems to be intimately connected to the mental health professional's inability to assess the cultural identity of clients accurately. The model also acknowledges ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The person's desire to eliminate oppression of the individual's minority group becomes an important motivation of the individual's behavior, which ultimately may be motivated by the affective feelings of guilt, shame, and anger (Sue & Sue, 2008). The next stage in the R/CID model is Introspection. The individual begins to discover that this deep seeded hatred of the dominate group is psychologically draining. Moreover, the energy used to hate the dominate group is not conducive to their understanding neither themselves nor their own racial–cultural group. The resistance and immersion stage tends to be a reaction against the dominant culture and is not proactive in allowing the individual to use all energies to discover who or what he or she is. The minority shows concerns for the basis of the self–appreciation. Self–definition in the previous stage tends to be reactive (against White racism), and a need for positive self–definition in a proactive sense emerges. The minority individual experiences feelings of discontent and discomfort with group views that may be quite rigid in the resistance and immersion stage. A Latino individual that may form a deep relationship with a person outside their culture may experience considerable pressure from his or her culturally similar peers to break off the relationship because that person is the "enemy." However, the personal experiences of the individual at

And this quote is correct for most people because we know that the world is rounding and two evenings are never same. In this rounding world, new ideas come out everyday: some of them are dying but some of them changes the world. Most of inventions that we use in our daily life is based on 20th century. Of course in our time technology and science is far more developed however, to develop something you should invent it and that happened on 20th century. This developements are sometimes terrifying. Cultural Aspects Of The European Renaissance And Humanism Cultural aspects of the European Renaissance and Humanism Name :Ece YeЕџim KebabcД± Student ID:25097 Section No:B3 Word Count:1130 Renaissance , a French word which means rebirth in English, is the period in European civilization immediately appears after the Middle Ages and reaches up to the 17th century. It is regarded as the beggining of cultural movement in Italy which was continued by radical changes in lots of branches such as literature, art, science etc. and later spreaded to the rest of Europe. There is a common arguement which emphasizes that the origins of the ideas characterizing the Renaissance was particular in Dante Alighieri's and Petrachs's writings as well as in the paintings of Giotto di Bondone. A significant part of the Renaissance was a cultural and intellectual movement called Humanism. It was a human based philosophy which emphasized human potential that all people should endeavour to be educated and learned in the classical arts, literature, and science. This modernization made an unusual culture to be born. My Thesis Statement is based on the process of the differentation between European and Eastern countries that happened as a result of changes in Renaissance and Humanism. Not only in scientific or artistic but also in cultural aspects, there has been a great development in Europe which made the situation opposite of the Medieval Period.By Renaissance Europe has not only reached the developement level of eastern countries but also take ... • 12. Evolution Is It Really A Theory? Evolution, is it really a theory? I'll let you decide. My job is to give you some evidence on evolution. A few nice examples of proof of evolution are, DNA Sequences, Anatomical structures, embryological developement, analogous structures, and fossil records. What is Evolution? Evolution is "the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth." (oxforddictionaries) The evolutional theory has many sources of proof. Starting with DNA Sequences. How scientists can infer that animal are have a common ancestor by DNA sequences. In DNA sequences scientists look at the patterns and common genes that appear in animals that they have in common to see if far down the road they had a common ancestor. A common ancestor can also lead to something like a Homologous structure. A homologous structure is a structure that animals have in common. For an example, humans, bats, rabbits, frogs, penguins, they have a similar arm bone structure.(evolution.berkeley) Homologous structures could be evidence of common ancestry, and common DNA Sequences for skeletal structure. Animals that have a common DNA sequences could end up with the same bones but built slightly different. If you already have DNA and it causes no problems what would be the point of completely rewriting the DNA code when you already have a working code?(icr) A very big evidential proof of genetic variation, or evolution, is embryo ... I agree with Kohlberg's take on stage 3 but I totally disagree with his take on stage 4. In my opinion, most Americans are at stage 1 and stage 3. In todays day and age people are more concerned with how others preceive them and people want to be socially accepted by others. In addition to people wanting social acceptance from others, they do things morally to avoid the backlash of negative consequences from authority or being punished by authorities. I accept Kohlberg's choice on stage 3, many Americans do want to be liked, and admired. According to the text, people in this stage justify what is morally right through the acceptance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many laws and rules are put in place to protect people from being harmed, but people stay clear from breaking them from fear of disciplinary actions. I must admit that I myself and others I know have done moral acts to avoid consequences and sanctions not thinking about my safety but thinking about the punishment if I do so. For example, when I was in high school me and my friends use to jaywalk across the street because the crosswalk was so far from where we were headed, but if there was a sheriff's officer's vehicle sitting near by we would avoid this illegal act of jaywalking so we won't get in trouble. To be honest, there are many other acts I stay away from so I won't receive discipline from authoritative figures and I am sure that is the same reason why many other Americans follow the rules and abide by the law. To conclude, Americans fall under stage 1 and stage 3 of Kohlberg's moral development theory in my opinion. Most people yearn for acceptance from others such as friends, family, and people they don't fully now by acting morally so they would be seen as a morally good person. People also take part in moral acts so they won't be punished for doing otherwise. Essay on Sensitive Periods in Developement Sensitive Periods in Developement The child does not grow uniformly and homogeneously like a crystal or a carrot, but by stages or phases, which succeed one another and which, differ from one another. For proper growth and development it is necessary that the potentialities for developing human relationships with which the infant is born be exposed to the organizing influences of another human being. Accumulating evidence indicates that there exist critical developmental periods during which the organism is ready for differential development, within which periods it must receive the proper stimulations if it is to develop adequately. • 19. Acid Rain Problems An Overview OF AREAS IN THE WORLD THAT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH ACID RAIN What areas in the world have problems with acid rain? Areas that have problems with acid rain are those that contain many running cars and a large population of people in one place, such as cities. Areas near electric companies that burn fossil fuel or manufacturing industries also face acid rain. Even areas that are far from electric companies and manufacturing industries face the wrath of acid rain as SO2 and NOx can travel far through wind and air currents. Why do they have acid rain? These places have acid rain because of the amount of SO2 and NOx that is being created. The burning of fossil fuels that electric companies do release sulfur dioxide that spreads through the air, which forms acid rain. 2. Mozart then starts the first theme again with a 32nd note run pick–up instead of the 16th note arpeggio pick–up in the the begginning of the piece so we are prepared for variation in the second statement of the first theme. The I chord confuses the tonal direction becasuse the listener expects the ii to be followed by V and then I. This is even more confusing because the scale that accompanies the I chord implies V (the chord the listener wants to hear). The next bar rounds off this cadential prolongation (ii–V–I) but the exposition does not yet end. The arrival to I does not occur until beat three of the bar. The first two beats create even more prolongation as they nearly modulate. And even after this, the exposition is not done. There is a two bar codetta (a one bar figure played twice, the second time with variation) before the strong V7–I cadence with a C pedal tone. This is the first very strong cadence since the start of the closing material. Since the cadence at the end of the exposition is to C without any hint of F as a tonic, the Developement begins in C. The ultimate aim of urban consolidation is to reduce development on the fringe areas of the city. It is often realised by densification, high–rise development and urban renewal." The process of Urban Consolidation involves an increase in the number of houses or apartments within existing areas so that they can have more efficient use of services and reduce the impact on the environment. • 27. Obesity: Developement Responses In The Body Obesity is known to produce a number of stress and inflammation responses in the body that lead to the activation of the inflammatory signalling molecules, Jun NH2–terminal kinase (JNK) and inhibitory kB kinase (IKK). Activation of these pathways plays a key part in the development of insulin resistance followed by progression to diabetes as they greatly affect inflammatory responses, insulin signalling, and lipid and glucose homeostatis (Nakamura et al. 2014). For example, activating the JNK pathway leads to serine phosphorylation of insulin receptor substrate (IRS) proteins which results in inhibited insulin signalling and thus insulin resistance. Double–stranded RNA–dependent protein kinase (PKR) has recently been shown to control the JNK and other major inflammatory pathways, to directly inhibit insulin signalling, to be activated by fatty acids as well as endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, and to be necessary for the activity of inflammasomes (Nakamura et al. 2010; Komiya et al. 2010; Lu et al. 2012). Moreover, PKR has been found to be highly activated in obese people as well as mice with genetically and diet–induced obesity, especially in adipose and hepatic tissues (Boden et al. 2008; Nakamura et al. 2010; Carvalho–Filho et al. 2012). They followed the herds along their migratory patterns and gathered other sustenance consisting mostly of plants and their roots along the way. It is believed that approximately 400,000 years ago, Homo erectus learned to use fire (Lerner,9). They also began to travel farther distances, for the earliest evidence of the wheel used in travel was found to be in 35,000 BCE (Calder,54). There is conflicting information as to when the Homo erectus began evolving into the Homo sapien. Some say it was in 28,000 BCE (Lerner,9), others say it was between 18,000 and 13,000 BCE (Spielvogel,3). Facts would point to the earlier years, where the Sumerian city–states, Egyptian Civilization (especially the Old Kingdom), and cuneiform began to emerge. "Groups of people advanced beyond their old hunting grounds at a rate of only two or three miles per generation (Spielvogel,3)." They began making waterproof shelters of their own. With this new advance in addition to the discovery and use of fire, man was able to move to climates other than the reasonably comfortable settlements of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 31. Mood and Its Developement Mood is the feeling the reader gets from reading a piece of literature. If it is properly made it can be felt through the main character or the text. Many literary devices can aid the development of mood in a passage. In "Denn Die Todten Reiten Schnell," Stroker uses techniques of diction, types of imagery, and elements of narrative stance to create a dominant impression of fear. The author selects techniques of diction such as connotation, repetition, and onomatopoeia, to establish the fear is the overall excerpt. He manipulates connotation to enhance the mood. As the character is driven about the midnight landscape by the mysterious coachman, he notices the "frowning rocks" hanging over the road, a "ghostly flicker" of blue light which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Wild animals are technically never a sign of something good. They are wild, ferocious creatures craving for flesh, meat and blood. One wolf is bad, but a ring of wolves can be great trouble. Now wolves with "long sinewy legs" is not a good sight either. They help create the feeling of fear; the fear of being devoured and never heard from again. It also helps the reader see the setting better and making it more possible to apply themselves into that setting of fright. The author picks personification to increase the impact of the mood of fear. As the travelers pass the narrow roadway and are "hemmed" in with trees," they listen to the wind, which "moaned and whistled," like a person in great pain. Personifying the setting further develops the ominous background the reader is experiencing. As the scenery is being brought to life the reader cannot help, but to experience fright. The moaning and whistling of the wind acts like a psychological distraction to the narrator. While nature is taking a form of it's own, he is being surrounded by it and practically being captured and taunted by it. Point of view, tone, and persona are selected by the author to reinforce the overarching impression of fear. Bram Stoker chooses first person point of view to re–apply the aura of fear to the excerpt. Psychologically the repetitive usage of the pronoun "I" triggers the reader to refer to oneself as "I" therefore ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Why Is It Better To Have Single Gendered Schools Out of Co–Ed schools and Single Gender schools I would choose Co–Ed schools the reason why is because boys and girls are not separated so that means that they can have a more experienced life with each other instead of without. If they never had Co–Ed schools than boys and girls would never experience life around each other and if they could not then that means that when they get older they would never know about each other. If they only had Single Gender schools, that would be a bad thing because they would not be able to experience a regular life when they get older around girls or boys. The three reasons I will be talking about why I chose Co–Ed schools is devastating, development, and entertainment. • 33. Developement Tell Us: Article Analysis The following section was entitled "What Does Developement Tell Us," and in it, Jeffery described the developmental phases of Astyanax because "evolutionary changes proceed through alterations in development." By describing the different phases, Jeffery was able to point out the places where the development of the eyes in cavefish morphologies is different from the surface–dwelling fish. The first phase of eye development in both forms of the Astyanax is the appearance of optic vesicles, and with this appearance and other simultaneous mechanisms, the eye primordia, consisting of the lens vesicle, an optic cup with an inner retinal layer and an outer retinal pigment epithelium layer, and optic stalk, forms. I found it extremely important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Secondly, pigment cells do not differentiate due to obvious deficiency in rhodopsin–expressing rod photoreceptor cells. Finally, the cornea, iris, and ciliary body do not develop, although neural crest cells migrate to the eye region like in surface fish, and sclera, although present, remains cartilaginous instead of ossified. The author went into very great detail describing the processes of development of the fish eye, but I had an extremely hard time following along with what he was saying because it was very difficult to picture all of the structures he was describing. I gained quite a bit of understanding from the pictures and figures provided, but I really would have appreciated more detailed diagrams that pointed out the specific structures discussed. This section gave me a much larger appreciation for the complexity of the eye, and its overall point was to prove that cavefish eye develops normally for a considerable amount of time before finally disappearing due to failure to keep up with overall body growth. These finding do not support the hypothesis that proposes loss of function of genes involved in early eye development. It also discounts the hypothesis that the embryonic eye was eradicated in order to conserve ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Should Children Have Screen Time Although both arguements seem reasonable I feel there should be a screen time limit for children. Being in front of a screen takes children away from human interaction. Children should be playing and using their imagination whether its inside or outside. In personal experiences, screen play takes a mental and physical toll on children. In my personal opinion there is no reason to have children in front of a screen for longer than an hour or two a day. While achild is sitting in front of a screen for hours on end they arent paying any attention to the outisde world or their surroundings. Instead of playing on a tablet or computer or watching t.v they could be playing a board game or reading with family or friends. I can ask my children ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They should be outside playing games and making their own things up. Children need to use their own original thinking and problem solving. This will help their brain developement and skills they will need in life. Screen time is mentally draining for children. The light from the screen throws off our body clocks and can disrupt sleep. When a child doesnt sleep enough they are more irritable and their physical activity level will go down. This can also lead into obesity. Children need physical activity. Whos to say they will go outisde? Well children wont have many options if screen time is taken away. Even if its not outside they will still be doing something other than just sitting on a couch. If a child gets enough sleep they will have the energy to do other things both physically and mentally. Screen play is mentally draining and can cause depression. In my personal experience with my own son screen play causes him depression, especially before bed. What ever he watches or plays the night before interupts his sleep. It also negatively impacts his imagintion, causing him to have night mares. All of this could be avoided if we sat down with our children and read them a book or played a game with them ... The processes of industrialization lead to and basically are what "modernization" is defined as. By understanding the process of industrialization, "modernization" can be better seen and understood. Finally, "modernism" is predominantly a term referring to a cultural movement. In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries it was a cultural celebration of the notion of progress. People were rejecting the superficial, material excess and looking down inside themselves. This rejection of the material excess is embodied by many of the authors and artists of the time. For instance, the Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen's character of Nora in his play A Doll's House is the perfect example.
