Understanding Event Planning
Understanding the fine points of event planning is critical to being able to putting on events for any
client. This planning can be broken down into the 6 A s of planning (Anticipation, Arrival,
Atmosphere, Appetite, Activities and Amenity), production schedule and timeline. This framework is
valuable as it can be applied to nearly any event. This paper will present two different size and class
events with the goal of detailing the structure of planning.
The first event to be examined is a reception for 200 people put on by a pharmaceutical company that
focuses on local culture. The purpose of the event is to gratify and reassure their best customers. The
event will be held on January 24, 2012 at 8pm, with the door opening at 7:30pm 11pm. The venue will
be held in a catering hall with sufficient capacity on the East side of the city. In regards to the budget,
the pharmaceutical industry wants to make their customers happy and will be satisfied with whatever
budget. With the goal of hosting a successful event, all physical resources must be organized
beforehand. The products are: lighting, seating, music equipment, venue, decoration, stage, tables,
gifts, food and alcohol along with plates and cutlery. Some of the physical resources will be provided
for us, Food, drinks cutlery will be provided by the catering hall, music equipment will be provided by

Brown V. Board of Education (1954)
Stacy Flores POLS 210 B045 Fall 12 American Government I Professor Carlos Soltero Fall Term
Final Exam Question 1 Brown v. Board of Education (1954) This case dealt with racial segregation in
a public school which was the norm across America in the early 1950 s. All schools in a given district
were in fact supposed to be equal, however, most black schools were far inferior to white schools.
This case was based on a black third grader by the name of Linda Brown in Topeka, Kansas, having to
walk a mile through a railroad switchyard to get to her black elementary school even though a white
elementary school was only seven blocks away from her home. Oliver Brown, Linda s father, tried to
enroll her in the white ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Brown and the NAACP appealed to the Supreme Court on October 1, 1951. Their case was combined
with other cases that challenged school segregation in other states. The Supreme Court first heard the
case on December 9, 1952 but failed to reach a decision so they reargued the case on December 7,
1953. The Supreme Court struck down the separate but equal doctrine of Plessy for public education
and ruled in favor of the plaintiffs, and required the desegregation of schools across America.
Education is possibly the most important function of state and local governments today. Attendance
laws and the amount of money spent of our education system both demonstrate the recognition of the
importance placed on education in our society. Education is required in the performance of the most
basic public responsibilities which includes the service in our armed forces. A good education is the
foundation of good citizenship and helps children from every walk of life understand cultural values
and help him or her to adjust normally to their ever changing environment. It is very doubtful that any
child today may reasonably be expected to succeed in every aspect of life is they are denied the
opportunity of an education which is offered equally to every child. Education is the opportunity
offered to all and is a right which must be made available to all on equal terms. Brown v. Board of
Education, widely celebrated as a promise to end segregation and bring about

A Conversation between Descartes and Searle
Descartes: One of my greatest powers is the ability to think, considering that it is essentially the only
thing that I am unable to doubt.
Searle: I partly agree to your statement, but I observe that you are inclined to ignore the concept of
technology and the wonders that it can perform. Furthermore, just as you are able to persuade other
individuals in thinking that they make decisions for themselves, it is probable that someone else
influences you and the decisions that you make without allowing you to understand that you are being
manipulated.
D: Oh, but I m afraid that you got the wrong impression regarding my thinking. I did not say that I
cannot be manipulated, as I simply claimed that me being able to doubt everything but my ability to
doubt is equivalent to me having free will. I will always be able to doubt things and this stands as
proof that my mind is different from my body as a consequence of the fact that it is thinking.
S: It is very likely that information that has been produced consequent to your death made it easier for
me to look at things and that I am better prepared to understand how the mind works. As I said, you
tend to ignore the fact that technology has advanced greatly and that the Age of Technology provides
individuals with a lot of information that they can use with the purpose of developing arguments to
support particular points of view.
D: I did not say that I am not amazed with the way that technology advanced in the twentieth and

The Importance Of Our Thoughts
Our thoughts also are too numerous to count sometimes. Have you ever had an opportunity or a time
when you may have been sitting idle and your mind just started racing from one thing to the next?
Nothing was conclusive. You just kept going from one thing to the next. You were being bombarded
with all of these different thoughts and you could not concentrate on anything. Understand this; the
only thing that the enemy is trying to do to you and I is to bring you to a place of confusion. He wants
you to be confused. He wants you to be so confused that you can t discern whether it s you are talking,
the devil talking, or God talking. That s how confused he wants you to be. He wants you to get to a

Now wait a minute. What happened? Yesterday when I came down here, y all were drinking mint

The Struggle For Power In Tim Rice s Eva Peron
Tim Rice created Evita in 1976 but it didn t debut until 1979 on Broadway. It was based on the life of
Eva Peron, who ended up being the most famous First Lady of Argentina. In a recent interview with
Mark Shenton, Tim Rice said that he heard about Eva Peron on the radio and remember her from a
stamp he saw as a child. That moment was enough to make Rice interested in Eva Peron s life story.
This all happened in 1973 twenty one years after Eva Peron had already passed away. Along with
Andrew Lloyd Webber, they created a pop rock opera that told of her rise to fame. The play was very
successful and even was later turned into a movie directed by Alan Parker, starring Madonna as Eva
Peron in 1996. The main character of this play is Eva Peron ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The play had both political and social themes. The one social movement in the play that appeals to the
female audience was the Women Right s Movement. Eva is displayed as a woman who takes charges
and is independent in life and love. She is the perfect example of everything the Women Right s
Movement is trying to do. The play challenged normal gender roles by showing a woman in power.
All the other First Ladies before Eva Peron didn t participate in politics. They follow their husband s
orders and donate to charity here and there. Eva Peron did take a major role in the fight for women s
right in Argentina. In 1947 she promoted the new Peronist law for women right to vote. Another theme
that related to the country current state was the political unrest. During the 1970 America was
experiencing many political issues. Between the Vietnam War, which was widely opposed, and the
Watergate Scandal, which cause Nixon to resign, the country s distrust in their government was strong.
This similar political issue was shown in the song The Lady Got Potential with armed military
removing and instated different presidential elected. There was also several scenes of riot and rally for
government change shown in the movie. This is also shown through the character Che since he is
supposed to be an everyday Argentina man. In begin of

The Correlation Of Voters Attitudes About The Liberal...
Introduction
In this study, I m focusing on the correlation of voters behaviors about the Liberal party of Canada in
the 2015 election. The relationship between Justin Trudeau and the party and what effects to gain
more votes, pros and cons, the strengths and the weaknesses among different group of the voters. I did
comparisons between the main three Canadian parties (Liberal, Conservative, NDP) and did a research
report to help to understand the correlates of their support. This research provides an overview of my
study s finding. I did a statistical analysis about the mean, median, standard deviation, the lower and
upper mean, how males and females behave about the party, the income correlations, linear, nonlinear,
monotonic and non monotonic relationship, null and alternative hypothesis and many more.
Literature Review
Voting is a standout amongst the most principal parts of political engagement. Numerous political
researchers connect voting with the strength of the popularity based process and contend that
declining voting rates might be symptomatic of a democratic deficit. Since political support can
likewise impact public policy, others are worried that lower investment could bring about strategies
that are not really illustrative of key voting demographics, similar to the individuals who tend to vote
less. Therefore, the voter turnout rate is utilized as one pointer of political engagement. In Canada,
researchers who look at voter turnout have found various

Social Work Intervention
INTRODUCTION
School social work and its purpose is first discussed in Chapter 3. Before 21st century we are not sure
why it did not have formal position. However, in order to demise child labor and include cultural
sensitivity for immigrants; school social work began to take its form (Jarolmen, 2014). The school
social worker has been charged with lifelong learning to increase professional development,
awareness of local, state and federal laws; as well as the position to link services to students, families
and co educators. This practice behavior will allow the school social worker to ensure that every child
will receive the tools necessary for educational success. School social workers possess the ability to

professional school social worker you must be knowledgeable of strength based interventions. The
school social worker must also include the support of other stake holders within the educational
process of the student. For instance, principals, administrators, counselors and other support personnel
may be solicited by the school social worker to implement Positive Behavior Support (PBS) which is
an intervention used to deter negative behavior of a student demonstrating signs of behavior disorder
even before it becomes a problem (Merchant, Anderson, Caldarelli, Young, Young, 2009 as cited in
Jarolmen, 2014).In addition, NC Standard 4 (a) elaborates that school social workers must exercise
assessments to correctly establish the need of the student as well as identify service gaps within the
school setting. Authors Scott, Nelson, Zabala, (2003), explains the process of using assessments such
as the Functional Behavior Assessment . The Functional Behavior Assessment is used to develop a
behavioral intervention plan for the student as needed. This assessment is just one of many
assessments utilized within the school setting (Scott,

Analysis Of Mama In A Raisin In The Sun
In the play A Raisin in the Sun Mama has the role of being a mother figure for all of the characters.
She is a very outgoing women who loves her family. Overall, Mama wants her family to succeed in
life. In addition, when it comes to momentous family decisions she does what she believes is best for
everyone. However, other members of family sometimes have contradicting beliefs, which makes
them feel like their house is matriarchal. I believe that their house is Matriarchal, but Mama s
decisiveness is for the best of everyone. In conclusion, Mama is not a tyrant because she makes
decisions for the best of her family, the money belongs to her, and she wants to see her dream come
true.
All of Mama s conclusions are made because she has hope that it will help her family in the future.
When she orders people to do things her reasoning is love. When Travis doesn t do his household
chores. Mama will do it, but not because she wants him to be spoiled, but for him experience a nice
life. Adding to that, she does not want Travis to learn how to work at a young age because then he will
never be able undergo that great life. With him not being able to have a nice live might result and his
dreams getting crushed. Mama once said to Ruth what you fix for his breakfast (Act1 sc2). Ruth then
became very defensive and made sure Mama knew she feeds Travis. In this Ruth is interpreting Mama
s intentions the wrong way. Mama is just checking in, so she knows that not only Travis is getting

The Death Penalty

English 112
Mr. Johnson
November 23, 2015
The death penalty is a permitted by law deprivation of life as a criminal punishment. This issue have
been of a great importance throughout centuries parallel to the existence of states. Massive wave of
failures of the death penalty use occurred only in the 90th of the last century. In 1991, from the 180
countries present on the map the death penalty was abolished only in 60. Nevertheless, the official
abolishment of the legislation referring to the execution and the end of its practical use in most
countries differed over time, and in the majority of the most European countries this kind of
punishment has not been carried out more than a century. In Western countries, there is no unanimous
opinion on the appropriateness of the death penalty expense. Government, the legislature of the
European countries took the decision to abolish the death penalty, without relying on public opinion
and on the basis of civilizational and religious principles.
Kvashis (1999) evidences that the world community is moving steadily toward a world without death
penalty (p.78). Now the death penalty is used mostly in Muslim countries, traditions of which, in
addition to what is meant punishment for a range of offenses that are not considered in any country in
the European world, and recommend more highly violent methods of its implementation from
beheading to stoning.

A Segregated Education By Jonathan Kozol
A Segregated Education
It has become common today to dismiss the lack of education coming from our impoverished public
schools. Jonathan Kozol an award winning social injustice writer, trying to bring to light how our
school system talks to their students. In his essay Still Separate, Still Unequal, Kozol visits many
public high schools as well as public elementary schools across the country, realizing the outrageous
truth about segregating in our public education system. Kozol, cross examining children describing
their feelings as being put away where no one desires your presence. Children feeling diminished for
being a minority; attending a school that does not take into consideration at the least the child s well
being. Showing clear signs of segregation in the education system. Many education writers have much
to say about the education taking place in our public schools, as well as Kozol. For Instance Diane
Ravitch a research professor of education at New York University spoke about an interesting truth,
saying, The achievement gaps are rooted in social, political, and economic structures. If we are
unwilling to change the root cause, we are unlikely ever to close the gaps. The success of our children
s education is mainly caused by economic, social and political statue. If one does not end the cycle the
gap will most likely never close. This may tie in with when Kozol cites Marina Warner, an essayist
and novelist, saying, There are expensive children and there

The Standards Of The Iso 27001 Certification
Introduction/Background Companies are perpetually affected by compliance. If a company is to meet
compliance standards, they must maintain this if they wish to continue operating. If they are unable to
meet them, then the business is likely doomed for failure. It is a tough battle on either front. To make
matters harder, some compliances are not actually a legal requirement, but not meeting them would
spell certain doom for the company. This idea is no different for Organization A. Organization A s
reputation and maintained business continuity are contingent upon specific regulations and
compliance. Without this compliance, the organization will no longer hold the respect and credibility
they currently have. This paper focuses on Organization A s attitude and handling of the ISO 27001
certification as well as organizational auditing concerns.
To provide background, Organization A is a consulting firm specializing in forensics, cyber security,
and incident response. They also have services in investigations, behavioral analytics, and e discovery.
Because of this type of work, there are occasions when the organization must testify in a court setting.
The need to provide clients with verified, unaltered information is crucial in ensuring that the law is
properly administered. Without specific compliances and certifications, proving the organization is
acting properly becomes exceedingly difficult to do in court. The major compliance that Organization
A must maintain is ISO

Heparin Article Critique
The purpose of this study was to determine and compare the effects of four methods of subcutaneous
heparin injection on pain and bruising in abdomen and thighs. The researchers tested four different
methods during the study. The methods had different injection rates and needle time left in the patient
before removing it. The researchers used a quasi experimental within subject design. 90 patients with
COPD in two ICU wards were tested. The title of the article is straightforward and exact tells the
reader what the article is about. One thing the article did not mention was the population and
demographics of the sample. It was not until I read to the abstract to discover the population. Overall
the abstract does an excellent job to given the reader insight of what they are about to read. The
abstract clearly summarize the main features of the report: the problem, methods, results, and
conclusion.

During the introduction, the researcher gives background to the topic being discussed. It took some
time search to locate problem. The authors do not directly state what the problem is, but rather let the
reader to assume what the problem is. I believe the problem is stated in this sentence, Bruising and
pain due to heparin injection are considered to be both patients and nurses problems, because they are
important factors for changing and adjustment of clinical performance (Azimi, Jafarabadi

Myrtle Wilson as the Wasteland Figure in the Great Gatsby
30 November 2007 Myrtle and Fitzgerald s Wasteland Myrtle Wilson is Fitzgerald s vessel for
illustrating the modern wasteland. His conception of the wasteland as an unavoidable, vulgar part of
the 1920s society is parallel to his characterization of Myrtle as an unavoidable, vulgar character that
refuses to be ignored. He uses her to point out what he sees as the faults of modern society. Myrtle is
materialistic, superficial, and stuck living in the physical wasteland referred to as the valley of ashes.
Fitzgerald uses her to portray the social wasteland, particulaly the growing materialism and
superficiality of modern society. He makes a huge statement about the repression of the impoverished

Fitzgerald is showing the shallowness, absurdity, and stupidity of the new money American consumer,
whom he contrasts to old money Tom Buchanan, who is not duped by the puppy vendor like ignorant
Myrtle. Fitzgerald also uses Myrtle to show the lack of compassion and irresponsibility of new money
Americans through Myrtle and the puppy. The puppy is referred to as a purchase (28), which Myrtle
briefly pays attention to but quickly forgets amongst the smoking and drinking, leaving the puppy
with blind eyes through the smoke, and from time to time groaning faintly (37), one of Fitzgerald s
most haunting and vivid images in the text. She haughtily talks about imaginary hired help that is
supposed to take care of her puppy, which is Fitzgerald s criticism of new money parenting and
irresponsibility in modern society. Her self centeredness catches up to her when George discovers the
expensive puppy leash before her death. Next, Fitzgerald utilizes Myrtle s superficiality to exhibit
another facet of the wasteland in modern society. Despite being a member of the lower class, Myrtle
becomes haughty and snobby when she is in the city. Her personality changes when she changes her
clothes to an elaborate afternoon dress of cream colored chiffon her laughter, her gestures, her
assertions became more violently affected moment by moment (30 31). She comes across as an over

Abolishment of Animal Testing Essay
Have you ever really thought about what happens during animal testing? How the animals are treated,
or what tortures they have to face on a day to day basis? More than one hundred million animals suffer
and die every year through animal testing. Ninety five percent of animals used in experimentation aren
t even covered under the Animal Welfare Act, which regulates the treatment of the animals that are
used for testing. Some animals are abused and mistreated so badly that they die before they are even
experimented on. Animal testing is a cruel procedure and should be made illegal.

A mouse cannot speak for itself, but no living creature would willingly go through some of the
horrendous procedures done on test animals.
For the most part, a majority of the cruel experiments done to animals are extremely pointless. It has
been reported that researchers will inject large amounts of LSD (acid) into elephants, just to see what
would happen. The side effects of LSD in humans has already been established, so injecting elephants
with the drug was highly unnecessary. Monkeys are also victims of pointless drug experimentations.
For the most part, everyone is already aware of the harmful side effects that occur from smoking while
pregnant. However, the federal government still grants researchers 10 million dollars to inject
pregnant monkeys with nicotine. The nicotine causes the developing monkey fetuses to have lung
damage and other birth defects. The unborn babies are then cut out of the mothers and killed so the
researchers can perform autopsies on their organs. That is not all; the Wake Forest University Baptist
Medical Center was awarded $71,623 in stimulus funds to feed cocaine to monkeys. Even though the
effects of cocaine are already known for humans. The list of pointless animal experiments goes on and
on. What are researchers even gaining from these useless experiments?

Pet Wearables And Connected Device Technology
Abstract Every year circuit boards and sensors become smaller and more affordable for entrepreneurs
around the world to freely innovate new technologies. Although many of these new technologies are
designed to directly interact with humans, some people are adapting this technology to address the
needs of working canines. These new devices are then being modified to meet the needs of the regular
pet dog owner. New devices for pet dogs cover everything from identification, tracking, vital sign
monitoring, video cameras and environmental temperature fluctuations to algorithms that translate tail
wags and eventually even brain waves into emotions that can be relayed to the owner. Our own
smartphones allow most of these innovations to connect owners with their dogs wearables by the use
of applications. As technology continues to advance, we will continue to see it being used to help
connect owners with their pet dogs. These technologies help owners to have peace of mind and
veterinarians have access to health and activity data that would otherwise not be observable at routine
examinations. Technology and Your Dog:

A Feminist Perspective of John Steinbeck s The Chrysanthemums
John Steinbeck, in his short story The Chrysanthemums depicts the trials of a woman attempting to
gain power in a man s world. Elisa Allen tries to define the boundaries of her role as a woman in such
a closed society. While her environment is portrayed as a tool for social repression, it is through nature
in her garden where Elisa gains and shows off her power. As the story progresses, Elisa has trouble
extending this power outside of the fence that surrounds her garden. In the end, Elisa learns but does
not readily accept, that she possesses a feminine power weak for the time, not the masculine one she
had tried so hard to achieve through its imitation.

environment surrounds all persons, fences surround animals and men surround women.
As she looks out to these men, we look at Elisa. Although she is doing the feminine work of
gardening, she is dressed like a man. She wore a black hat low on her forehead to cover her hair, thick
leather gloves covered her hands, and clodhopper shoes covering her small woman s feet. A big
corduroy apron covered the dress making her figure look blocked and heavy (396). Unconsciously, as
she looks through her fence at the men talking business, she is trying to cover up her feminine
qualities. She longs to be in their position and possess their characteristics.

Integrated Social Sciences Personal Statement
One aspect that drew me to the Integrated Social Sciences program is how well rounded the
curriculum is. My goal in life is to become a travel writer, and having a wide breadth of knowledge
will only help me achieve that. The flexibility in learning and development through this program is
important to me not only because of my professional aspirations but my personal ones as well.
Learning about other cultures and people has always been an interest of mine, being raised in a multi
ethnic household I searched for familiarity in an environment that was atypical of my own. This led to
an unrelenting curiosity in the world that persists to this day, and is what drives me towards higher
learning. Having previously worked and studied in computer science fields, although finding the

Space Shuttle Challenger Case Study Solution
Executive Summary
On January 28, 1986, hundreds of spectators on the ground and millions of Americans watching on
television witnessed the disaster of space shuttle Challenger. The space shuttle Challenger broke apart
after 73 seconds it was launched killing all seven crew members aboard, including Christa McAuliffe,
a teacher from New Hampshire. Christa McAuliffe was chosen from thousands of candidates and
planned to teach lessons from space to children of school age around the country.
Based on investigation conducted by the Roger s Commission, the O ring seals in Challenger s solid
rocket booster (SRB) became brittle due to extreme cold temperature that caused the failure to fully

Challenger was rescheduled to launch on January 28, 1986 at 9:38 AM Eastern Time at Kennedy
Space Center, Florida
2.0 CIRCUMSTANCES BEFORE LAUNCH One day before the launch, NASA personnel became
concerned because of the predicted Florida weather on the early hours of January 28 would be
unusually cold, the temperature was expected to be as low as 20°F (Vaughan, 1997).
Marshall s Solid Rocket Motor Manager contacted Thiokol, the manufacturer of the Solid Rocket
Motor (SRM) in Utah to review the performance of the SRM on cold temperature. The Thiokol
engineers expressed their concern that the cold temperature would make the rubber O ring lose the
resiliency that may cause failure to seal the joints of the SRB, which is mission safety critical. This
was a known issue based on several previous launches and concerns that had been raised between
Marshall and Thiokol. This issue prompted to set three location telephone conference to discuss the
situation. Managers and engineers from Thiokol, Marshall Flight Space Flight Center, and Kennedy
Space Center participated in the discussion. Thiokol s recommendation was to delay the launch until
noon or after. More discussions took place that involved more personnel from all three participating
locations and engineering data containing technical analysis of the problem was provided. Based on
the technical analysis, Thiokol s conclusion, launch at any temperature below 53°F was

Turbidity Of Water
Discussion Environmental factors: The mean values of selected analytical water quality parameters,
among the four seasons from April 2015 to February 2016, revealed that generally most selected
physico chemical properties (Temp., pH, E.C., Ak., Turb., T. hard., D.O, B.O.D, NO3, NO2, NH3, Cl )
of water samples were within permissible limit (WHO 2004). In the current study, water temperature
was the maximum during summer and the minimum was during winter, where both are within the
normal range for growth of aquatic organisms, as the Temp. directly affected aquatic organisms as

2012). The Dissolved oxygen (D.O), the most important abiotic factor influencing any aquatic
ecosystem, obtained from atmosphere and photosynthesis, its depletion is due to manifestation of
pollution, respiration and decomposition of dead decaying sediment (Payakka Prommi 2014). In this
study D.O were within normal range according to WHO (2004), except in summer was somewhat low.
There is evidence that, oxygen concentrations showed a seasonal fluctuation, agreed with our results,
as elevation of water temperature in summer leads to the decrease of the solubility of oxygen gas
(Abdel Hamid et al. 1992, Ueda et al. 2000). Moreover, an inverse correlation detected in this study
between D.O against temperature and pH approved the results of Popoola Otalekor (2011), where high
temperature is positively correlated with increased respiration (Co2) that lead subsequently to
decreased pH and definitely decreasing D.O. The extreme value of Biological oxygen demand
(B.O.D) attained during summer but the least was during winter, on contradictory to D.O values,
confirming negative correlation between them that consisted in findings of Paparisto et al. (2012). It
varied between 1.0 3.0 mg/L and so according to Vowels Connel (1980) classification of streams
based on their B.O.D, confirmed that this stream is moderately polluted ( 1 9 mg/L). Moreover, Jordao

Pros And Cons Of Railway Transport
Nowadays, railways transports have become very convenience for industrial sector and consumer

Examples Of Being Extrovert
My friends in school think that I am just a normal with no life at all. However, outside of school, I
have a whole different kind of personality which is being extroverted. I disagree with my friends in
school that I have no life and have not many friends. In my friends perspective, being extroverted
means being very famous and is the kind of person who stands out from the rest, but for me, it just
means that I can relate to other people by having a kind heart and an open mind. The word extrovert
came from the Latin word extro meaning extra and vertere meaning turn. Having said this, the real
meaning of the word is if the person has an attitude of being friendly, sociable, and talkative.
However, people who are extroverted have a different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our vice president told us that you should vote me as vice president. So that day, we voted him as VP.
However, we already doubted his capability of leading the class because of his feeling cool attitude,
rude, and boastful attitude. Having officers like this would not even lead us to nothing. He was a type
of person that will just pass out the fault to other people. He says that its not my fault, it s the class
fault. Obviously, this affects us because we did not do anything then he blames us. There was one time
wherein almost every Chinese class, we would be noisy. When our class advisers knew about this, he
would suspect the people who is very noisy all the time. However, these are the one that are noisy,
even the officers are noisy. Sometimes, the officers or the leaders cannot admit that they did this
because they are afraid to be impeached or such. Having said the points that my friends in school, my
perspective of being extroverted is when a person has an attitude of relating into the conversations and
experiences of others. This also includes having a kind heart and openness of mind. For me, I can act
more freely and more independently outside of school rather than in school. Me and my teammates
bond is very strong. Often, we converse for about half an hour, talking about our experiences in school
and our experiences in the past competitions. This helps us know more about each other. To make our

My Eulogy Essay
My symbol that represents everything I want to be; is my grandmother Lena Knox. Who is the
beginning of the Knox bloodline, and she is also a very strong willed determined individual. The three
key points that I will touch on that makes her my symbol, are her adventurous courageous and
powerful states of mind.
When I was 8 years old we took our first family vacation that I can remember. Our family left Hot
Springs, Arkansas headed back to Oakland, California. We drove through Texas, New Mexico, and
Nevada. While we were in Nevada we stopped at the Grand Canyon. It is the most beautiful sight I

For the first time in my life I had sugar water and sugar toast and they really are delicious. On our last
night there I tried Gumbo for the first time and my grandmother had crab legs.
Now I will get into how courageous my grandmother is. When I was 8 months old my mother and
grandmother were walking back from the grocery store. When suddenly they were surrounded by wild
hunting dogs they must have smelled the raw meat in my grandmother bag. So my grandmother took
off running the opposite way of us to lead them away from us. The dogs attacked her she fought them
off with one can good; they were trying to kill her. I was way too young to remember all this but she
showed me the scars from the attack.
One day I and all the kids were outside playing and a huge snake crawled up on our porch. We were
terrified running, screaming, jumping, and throwing stuff at the snake. My grandmother was so brave
she went and picked up a shovel and cut the snakes head off; and that was the end of that.
Last but not least my Aunt Betty called my grandmother one day and she was very hysterical. Her
husband my Uncle Tim was punishing his dog King and out of nowhere King turned on him. King bit
his thumb off and was trying to bite Uncle Tim s throat. King would not calm down so we had to kill
him. I had a sledge hammer but every time I went to hit King I just couldn t do it. My

Applying A Balance Sheet On The World Of Finances
Excited to enroll in this class from the very beginning, I found it to be very informative. Not just it
taught me the important terminology used in the world of finances, but also allowed to apply these
concepts into my own financial life.
First of all, thanks to you, Professor Rutter, I have finally devoted time to make a balance sheet, a
document stating my current assets and income, and liabilities at the certain period of time. Now I
have been deliberately reviewing my credit card statements for the previous month, and calculating
how much money I have spent on the food each month, or how much I have spent on shopping at
amazon.com, etc. And even though my consuming behavior was never driven by materialism
completely, this class reminded me to be realistic about my general spendings, and to strictly separate
the needs from the wants. Additionally, I have expanded my skill of setting financial goals and
working towards them. For example, because of Christmas time that is approaching fast, which
usually includes gifts and travels, I suggested and pursued that my family (me, my husband, and our
child) stick to the weekly budget for food, including dining out. And it is been very helpful method to
save some money.
Then, the topic regarding financial institutions, as well as services and fees related to these
institutions, I found to be very empowering: this topic convinced me that doing a research prior
making any commitment to any institution is extremely important. As we

Proponents Of Lawyer Dissatisfaction Discredit The...
C. Reasons to Question Survey Data
Proponents of lawyer dissatisfaction discredit the reliability of survey data in several ways. First,
proponents look at the procedural and substantive defects inherent to survey testing. Second,
proponents highlight related survey data such as the high levels of lawyer depression, alcoholism, and
suicide rates, to name a few which are complimentary to the view that many lawyers are dissatisfied.
Last, proponents and opponents alike, suggest that lawyers may be in denial or untruthful when
responding to satisfaction surveys. Therefore, proponents of lawyer dissatisfaction argue that survey
data is unreliable in measuring lawyer dissatisfaction. David Chambers, a law professor at the
University of Michigan Law School, argues that procedural and substantive defects inherent to survey
data make it an unreliable method for measuring lawyer dissatisfaction. First, most lawyers only place
themselves above the midpoint on a satisfaction scale, which is barely more positive than negative.
Second, surveys are conducted at a specific time and place, and therefore do not give a complete
analysis of satisfaction. Last is the fact that many lawyers do not respond to surveys; and this is likely
to be the most true among lawyers that are the least satisfied. As a result, the deference given to
positive claims about lawyer satisfaction are not grounded in reliable evidence. Positive survey data
on lawyer satisfaction cannot be reconciled with

On average a woman will experience some form of abuse approximately every nine seconds. This
statistic may be higher in areas where women are regarded as property more than human. Frequently
intimate partner violence will follow a cyclic pattern. This pattern begins with an initial event of abuse
such as a physical attack, sexual assault or emotional manipulation, it is then followed by a buildup of
tension from the abused trying to keep the peace and the abuser trying to keep from lashing out again.
The third aspect of the cycle of abuse is a period of makeup, where the abuser apologizes often
promising not to do it again while simultaneously placing all the blame on the victim. The final part of
the cycle is a period of calm, where both people act as if nothing is wrong. The latter half of the cycle
generally lasts a while, but the longer the abuse phases last, the shorter the makeup and calm stages
last. Because of the consistent stress placed on a victim of intimate partner violence, it is not
uncommon for people who are stuck in this cycle to develop symptoms of posttraumatic stress
disorder or

Essay On Hedge
TWhy to hedge?
A hedge is aimed to offset potential losses on investment of an individual or an organization as it
reduces overal economic exposure of the two previously mentioned entities by guaranteeing favorable
outcome. In other words, a hedge is used to reduce any substantial losses/gains suffered by an
individual or an organization.
Advantages and disadvantages of hedging
Advantages
The main advantage of the currency exposure hedge it significantly lowers the risk of an investment.
As in the case of any investment, if an investor makes an investment in which there are many
independent variables that are out of their control, the investor would lose money if things do not go
as they planned. A hedge is aimed to offset these losses and thereby reduce any unwanted risk.
Hedging the transaction exposure with options also offers total protection against adverse currency

it offers a right, but not the obligation to buy or sell ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this case, some investors would question the benefit of speculation related to the original
investment in this way, since there is always a possibility that different investment positions of the
same entity would offset themselves without any hedging, thus making the latter an unnecessary
expenditure. Two major costs constitute the disadvantage of hedging position: the cost of premium,
especialy with no major fluctuations on the market, and the opportunity cost if the option is cancelled
for a new, more beneficial purchase. The one and only risk as such associated with an interest rate
option is the premium, that is, the price paid for obtaining the right to buy of sell foreign currency at

Louis Phillipe, born under the Old Regime in 1773, is the only French monarch to come to power as a
result of a political uprising against his predecessor Although the cousin of the Bourbon monarch,
King Louis XVI, Louis Phillipe the son of Duc d Orléans, was raised with liberal and Enlightenment
ideologies. With his family heavily involved in the early stages of the French Revolution of 1789,
Louis Phillipe served as an officer in the military. Although unsettled by the Revolutionary leadership
voting for regicide, he remained faithful to the army, until the outbreak of the Reign of Terror in 1793.
Upon fleeing France, Louis Phillipe s father denounced his son s actions. However, the Duc was later
arrested and guillotined for he was still tainted by association with his son and nephew, King Louis
XVI. During his twenty two year exile, Louis Phillipe travelled throughout Europe, the United States,
and the Caribbean only returning to France after the Bourbon Restoration and the establishment of the
constitutional monarchy of Louis XVIII in 1814. During his exile, he reconciled with the royal family

Tinker v. Des Moines Independent Community School District...
In the history of the Supreme Court, there have been many First Amendment cases that outline if
exercises of free speech and expression are constitutional or unconstitutional. One of the most
paramount 1st amendment cases is that of Tinker v. Des Moines Independent Community School
District (1969). This significant case helped shape the extension of symbolic speech, as well as ensure
the freedom of speech and expression to students in schools. In December 1965, a group of Iowa
residents, both adults and children, gathered to discuss ways in which they could protest American
involvement in the Vietnam War, a very controversial issue at the time. The group decided to wear
black armbands for the month of December as a form of peaceful ... Show more content on

The District Court dismissed the case, upholding the constitutionality of the school board s decision to
prohibit the students from wearing the armbands. The case later moved onto the US Court of Appeals,
where a 4 4 vote upheld the lower court s decision. They then took their case to the Supreme Court.
The case was heard by the Supreme Court on November 12th, 1968 to a packed court house. The main
constitutional question at hand was if a prohibition against the wearing of armbands in public school,
as a form of symbolic protest, violates the First Amendment s freedom of speech and expression.
Attorney Dan L. Johnson argued on the Tinker s behalf, proclaiming that the students had the
constitutional right, as per the 1st amendment freedom of speech and expression, to wear the black
armbands as a form of symbolic speech. On the other hand, attorney Allan A. Herrick defended the
school board s actions, inciting that the prohibition of armbands was necessary to prevent and stifle
any violence or disorder. The topic of discussion during the oral arguments centered largely upon
whether Tinker s protest was disruptive to the class environment. Johnson argued that the anti Vietnam
protest, although sparking some talk, was undisruptive to school, citing that there was no evidence of
disruption in any of the classes. Herrick, conversely, argued that the Vietnam War was an
inflammatory issue, and that armbands invoked violence, especially since a

  • 3. Brown V. Board of Education (1954) Stacy Flores POLS 210 B045 Fall 12 American Government I Professor Carlos Soltero Fall Term Final Exam Question 1 Brown v. Board of Education (1954) This case dealt with racial segregation in a public school which was the norm across America in the early 1950 s. All schools in a given district were in fact supposed to be equal, however, most black schools were far inferior to white schools. This case was based on a black third grader by the name of Linda Brown in Topeka, Kansas, having to walk a mile through a railroad switchyard to get to her black elementary school even though a white elementary school was only seven blocks away from her home. Oliver Brown, Linda s father, tried to enroll her in the white ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Brown and the NAACP appealed to the Supreme Court on October 1, 1951. Their case was combined with other cases that challenged school segregation in other states. The Supreme Court first heard the case on December 9, 1952 but failed to reach a decision so they reargued the case on December 7, 1953. The Supreme Court struck down the separate but equal doctrine of Plessy for public education and ruled in favor of the plaintiffs, and required the desegregation of schools across America. Education is possibly the most important function of state and local governments today. Attendance laws and the amount of money spent of our education system both demonstrate the recognition of the importance placed on education in our society. Education is required in the performance of the most basic public responsibilities which includes the service in our armed forces. A good education is the foundation of good citizenship and helps children from every walk of life understand cultural values and help him or her to adjust normally to their ever changing environment. It is very doubtful that any child today may reasonably be expected to succeed in every aspect of life is they are denied the opportunity of an education which is offered equally to every child. Education is the opportunity offered to all and is a right which must be made available to all on equal terms. Brown v. • 4. A Conversation between Descartes and Searle Descartes: One of my greatest powers is the ability to think, considering that it is essentially the only thing that I am unable to doubt. Searle: I partly agree to your statement, but I observe that you are inclined to ignore the concept of technology and the wonders that it can perform. Furthermore, just as you are able to persuade other individuals in thinking that they make decisions for themselves, it is probable that someone else influences you and the decisions that you make without allowing you to understand that you are being manipulated. D: Oh, but I m afraid that you got the wrong impression regarding my thinking. I did not say that I cannot be manipulated, as I simply claimed that me being able to doubt everything but my ability to doubt is equivalent to me having free will. I will always be able to doubt things and this stands as proof that my mind is different from my body as a consequence of the fact that it is thinking. S: It is very likely that information that has been produced consequent to your death made it easier for me to look at things and that I am better prepared to understand how the mind works. As I said, you tend to ignore the fact that technology has advanced greatly and that the Age of Technology provides individuals with a lot of information that they can use with the purpose of developing arguments to support particular points of view. • 5. The Importance Of Our Thoughts Our thoughts also are too numerous to count sometimes. Have you ever had an opportunity or a time when you may have been sitting idle and your mind just started racing from one thing to the next? Nothing was conclusive. You just kept going from one thing to the next. You were being bombarded with all of these different thoughts and you could not concentrate on anything. Understand this; the only thing that the enemy is trying to do to you and I is to bring you to a place of confusion. He wants you to be confused. He wants you to be so confused that you can t discern whether it s you are talking, the devil talking, or God talking. That s how confused he wants you to be. He wants you to get to a place where he is saying some stuff that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It looks like a nice place. The Lord says, No problem! If Hell s what you want, you got it. The man gets back on the elevator and returns to Hell. When he steps off the elevator, he s surrounded by fire and brimstone. People are screaming and hollering as the intense heat scorches them. The man says, Now wait a minute. What happened? Yesterday when I came down here, y all were drinking mint juleps and playing golf and all that kind of stuff! Then the devil walks up to him and says, Yesterday we were recruiting! So, what I m trying to show you, men, is that the enemy is trying to make us think that his way is better. You know what I m saying? He wants you to think his way will give us some great advantage or benefit or profit. But I guarantee you that his way is the way of destruction. His way is the way of death. And it s an eternal death. Because the thing is that you will end up living in Hell right here on Earth, and then dying and going to Hell. Are you still with me? Let me give you an example. Your thoughts don t introduce themselves by saying where they originated. Thoughts just come like fiery darts. Have you ever been in a place where you re just sitting and thinking, and some stuff jumps up in your head? And you think where did that come from? Right? I shouldn t be thinking this stuff! My God! • 6. The Struggle For Power In Tim Rice s Eva Peron Tim Rice created Evita in 1976 but it didn t debut until 1979 on Broadway. It was based on the life of Eva Peron, who ended up being the most famous First Lady of Argentina. In a recent interview with Mark Shenton, Tim Rice said that he heard about Eva Peron on the radio and remember her from a stamp he saw as a child. That moment was enough to make Rice interested in Eva Peron s life story. This all happened in 1973 twenty one years after Eva Peron had already passed away. Along with Andrew Lloyd Webber, they created a pop rock opera that told of her rise to fame. The play was very successful and even was later turned into a movie directed by Alan Parker, starring Madonna as Eva Peron in 1996. The main character of this play is Eva Peron ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The play had both political and social themes. The one social movement in the play that appeals to the female audience was the Women Right s Movement. Eva is displayed as a woman who takes charges and is independent in life and love. She is the perfect example of everything the Women Right s Movement is trying to do. The play challenged normal gender roles by showing a woman in power. All the other First Ladies before Eva Peron didn t participate in politics. They follow their husband s orders and donate to charity here and there. Eva Peron did take a major role in the fight for women s right in Argentina. In 1947 she promoted the new Peronist law for women right to vote. Another theme that related to the country current state was the political unrest. During the 1970 America was experiencing many political issues. Between the Vietnam War, which was widely opposed, and the Watergate Scandal, which cause Nixon to resign, the country s distrust in their government was strong. This similar political issue was shown in the song The Lady Got Potential with armed military removing and instated different presidential elected. There was also several scenes of riot and rally for government change shown in the movie. This is also shown through the character Che since he is supposed to be an everyday Argentina man. • 7. The Correlation Of Voters Attitudes About The Liberal... Introduction In this study, I m focusing on the correlation of voters behaviors about the Liberal party of Canada in the 2015 election. The relationship between Justin Trudeau and the party and what effects to gain more votes, pros and cons, the strengths and the weaknesses among different group of the voters. I did comparisons between the main three Canadian parties (Liberal, Conservative, NDP) and did a research report to help to understand the correlates of their support. This research provides an overview of my study s finding. I did a statistical analysis about the mean, median, standard deviation, the lower and upper mean, how males and females behave about the party, the income correlations, linear, nonlinear, monotonic and non monotonic relationship, null and alternative hypothesis and many more. Literature Review Voting is a standout amongst the most principal parts of political engagement. Numerous political researchers connect voting with the strength of the popularity based process and contend that declining voting rates might be symptomatic of a democratic deficit. Since political support can likewise impact public policy, others are worried that lower investment could bring about strategies that are not really illustrative of key voting demographics, similar to the individuals who tend to vote less. Therefore, the voter turnout rate is utilized as one pointer of political engagement. In Canada, researchers who look at voter turnout have found various ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For instance, principals, administrators, counselors and other support personnel may be solicited by the school social worker to implement Positive Behavior Support (PBS) which is an intervention used to deter negative behavior of a student demonstrating signs of behavior disorder even before it becomes a problem (Merchant, Anderson, Caldarelli, Young, Young, 2009 as cited in Jarolmen, 2014).In addition, NC Standard 4 (a) elaborates that school social workers must exercise assessments to correctly establish the need of the student as well as identify service gaps within the school setting. Running head: DEATH PENALTY The Death Penalty Se An English 112 Mr. Johnson November 23, 2015 The death penalty is a permitted by law deprivation of life as a criminal punishment. This issue have been of a great importance throughout centuries parallel to the existence of states. Massive wave of failures of the death penalty use occurred only in the 90th of the last century. In 1991, from the 180 countries present on the map the death penalty was abolished only in 60. Nevertheless, the official abolishment of the legislation referring to the execution and the end of its practical use in most countries differed over time, and in the majority of the most European countries this kind of punishment has not been carried out more than a century. In Western countries, there is no unanimous opinion on the appropriateness of the death penalty expense. • 12. A Segregated Education By Jonathan Kozol A Segregated Education It has become common today to dismiss the lack of education coming from our impoverished public schools. Jonathan Kozol an award winning social injustice writer, trying to bring to light how our school system talks to their students. In his essay Still Separate, Still Unequal, Kozol visits many public high schools as well as public elementary schools across the country, realizing the outrageous truth about segregating in our public education system. Kozol, cross examining children describing their feelings as being put away where no one desires your presence. Children feeling diminished for being a minority; attending a school that does not take into consideration at the least the child s well being. Showing clear signs of segregation in the education system. Many education writers have much to say about the education taking place in our public schools, as well as Kozol. For Instance Diane Ravitch a research professor of education at New York University spoke about an interesting truth, saying, The achievement gaps are rooted in social, political, and economic structures. If we are unwilling to change the root cause, we are unlikely ever to close the gaps. The success of our children s education is mainly caused by economic, social and political statue. If one does not end the cycle the gap will most likely never close. This may tie in with when Kozol cites Marina Warner, an essayist and novelist, saying, There are expensive children and there ... • 13. The Standards Of The Iso 27001 Certification Introduction/Background Companies are perpetually affected by compliance. If a company is to meet compliance standards, they must maintain this if they wish to continue operating. If they are unable to meet them, then the business is likely doomed for failure. It is a tough battle on either front. To make matters harder, some compliances are not actually a legal requirement, but not meeting them would spell certain doom for the company. This idea is no different for Organization A. Organization A s reputation and maintained business continuity are contingent upon specific regulations and compliance. Without this compliance, the organization will no longer hold the respect and credibility they currently have. This paper focuses on Organization A s attitude and handling of the ISO 27001 certification as well as organizational auditing concerns. To provide background, Organization A is a consulting firm specializing in forensics, cyber security, and incident response. They also have services in investigations, behavioral analytics, and e discovery. Because of this type of work, there are occasions when the organization must testify in a court setting. Heparin Article Critique The purpose of this study was to determine and compare the effects of four methods of subcutaneous heparin injection on pain and bruising in abdomen and thighs. The researchers tested four different methods during the study. The methods had different injection rates and needle time left in the patient before removing it. The researchers used a quasi experimental within subject design. 90 patients with COPD in two ICU wards were tested. The title of the article is straightforward and exact tells the reader what the article is about. One thing the article did not mention was the population and demographics of the sample. It was not until I read to the abstract to discover the population. Overall the abstract does an excellent job to given the reader insight of what they are about to read. The abstract clearly summarize the main features of the report: the problem, methods, results, and conclusion. His conception of the wasteland as an unavoidable, vulgar part of the 1920s society is parallel to his characterization of Myrtle as an unavoidable, vulgar character that refuses to be ignored. He uses her to point out what he sees as the faults of modern society. Myrtle is materialistic, superficial, and stuck living in the physical wasteland referred to as the valley of ashes. Fitzgerald is showing the shallowness, absurdity, and stupidity of the new money American consumer, whom he contrasts to old money Tom Buchanan, who is not duped by the puppy vendor like ignorant Myrtle. Fitzgerald also uses Myrtle to show the lack of compassion and irresponsibility of new money Americans through Myrtle and the puppy. The puppy is referred to as a purchase (28), which Myrtle briefly pays attention to but quickly forgets amongst the smoking and drinking, leaving the puppy with blind eyes through the smoke, and from time to time groaning faintly (37), one of Fitzgerald s most haunting and vivid images in the text. She haughtily talks about imaginary hired help that is supposed to take care of her puppy, which is Fitzgerald s criticism of new money parenting and irresponsibility in modern society. Her self centeredness catches up to her when George discovers the expensive puppy leash before her death. Next, Fitzgerald utilizes Myrtle s superficiality to exhibit another facet of the wasteland in modern society. Despite being a member of the lower class, Myrtle becomes haughty and snobby when she is in the city. Ninety five percent of animals used in experimentation aren t even covered under the Animal Welfare Act, which regulates the treatment of the animals that are used for testing. Some animals are abused and mistreated so badly that they die before they are even experimented on. Animal testing is a cruel procedure and should be made illegal. The side effects of LSD in humans has already been established, so injecting elephants with the drug was highly unnecessary. Monkeys are also victims of pointless drug experimentations. For the most part, everyone is already aware of the harmful side effects that occur from smoking while pregnant. • 29. Proponents Of Lawyer Dissatisfaction Discredit The... C. Reasons to Question Survey Data Proponents of lawyer dissatisfaction discredit the reliability of survey data in several ways. First, proponents look at the procedural and substantive defects inherent to survey testing. Second, proponents highlight related survey data such as the high levels of lawyer depression, alcoholism, and suicide rates, to name a few which are complimentary to the view that many lawyers are dissatisfied. Last, proponents and opponents alike, suggest that lawyers may be in denial or untruthful when responding to satisfaction surveys. Therefore, proponents of lawyer dissatisfaction argue that survey data is unreliable in measuring lawyer dissatisfaction. David Chambers, a law professor at the University of Michigan Law School, argues that procedural and substantive defects inherent to survey data make it an unreliable method for measuring lawyer dissatisfaction. First, most lawyers only place themselves above the midpoint on a satisfaction scale, which is barely more positive than negative. Second, surveys are conducted at a specific time and place, and therefore do not give a complete analysis of satisfaction. Last is the fact that many lawyers do not respond to surveys; and this is likely to be the most true among lawyers that are the least satisfied. As a result, the deference given to positive claims about lawyer satisfaction are not grounded in reliable evidence. Positive survey data on lawyer satisfaction cannot be reconciled with ... The third aspect of the cycle of abuse is a period of makeup, where the abuser apologizes often promising not to do it again while simultaneously placing all the blame on the victim. Harshly criticized for his politics, pseudo professionalism, and demeanor, the President brandishes the reports and depictions of his misdoing as fake news . Protected by the First Amendment of the Constitution, the citizens and press are at liberty to represent the United States President as a little handed, orange colored man with an overexaggerated combover (Figure 1). In the history of the Supreme Court, there have been many First Amendment cases that outline if exercises of free speech and expression are constitutional or unconstitutional. One of the most paramount 1st amendment cases is that of Tinker v. Des Moines Independent Community School District (1969). This significant case helped shape the extension of symbolic speech, as well as ensure the freedom of speech and expression to students in schools. The District Court dismissed the case, upholding the constitutionality of the school board s decision to prohibit the students from wearing the armbands. The case later moved onto the US Court of Appeals, where a 4 4 vote upheld the lower court s decision. They then took their case to the Supreme Court. The case was heard by the Supreme Court on November 12th, 1968 to a packed court house. The main constitutional question at hand was if a prohibition against the wearing of armbands in public school, as a form of symbolic protest, violates the First Amendment s freedom of speech and expression. On the other hand, attorney Allan A. Herrick defended the school board s actions, inciting that the prohibition of armbands was necessary to prevent and stifle any violence or disorder. The topic of discussion during the oral arguments centered largely upon whether Tinker s protest was disruptive to the class environment. Johnson argued that the anti Vietnam protest, although sparking some talk, was undisruptive to school, citing that there was no evidence of disruption in any of the classes. Herrick, conversely, argued that the Vietnam War was an inflammatory issue, and that armbands invoked violence, especially since a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
