Hickory Dickory Dock Analysis
Hickory Dickory Dock
Nursery rhymes are poems that have an underline meaning. Nursery rhymes were used in a way to
relay a hidden message that spoke out against the British government. However, guardians and
educators communicated the significance of nursery rhymes to children at a youthful age, asserting
that they are critical for them to build up an urge for dialect, syllables, and rhythm. Individuals would
think that nursery rhymes were sweet and innocent, but in between those lines was a hidden message
that was derogatory. Nursery rhymes originated in Britain roughly around the seventeenth hundreds.
Many nursery rhymes were popular poems like Hickory Dickory Dock. Be that as it may, does
Hickory Dickory Dock have a mischievous significance behind its snappy tune?
Hickory Dickory Dock is a straightforward nursery rhyme about a mouse and a clock. However, it
presumably alludes to one of Britain s minimum rulers who showed up on the political scene in the
seventeenth century. This nursery rhyme initially published in 1743; yet, is thought to allude to
previous events in the earlier century. England was a republic between the execution of King Charles I
in 1649 and the reclamation of the government, under King Charles II, in 1660. Richard was given
power because his brother died which led him to take his throne. As a result, Richard Cromwell went
on for nine months as Lord Protector before offering his resignation. Richard was permitted to leave

Even though the university followed a centralized organizational model was not consistent throughout
and there was a hidden decentralization of the IT governance. For instance, in a centralized model, the
problems with the lecture capturing software while authenticating the already registered students or
the inadequate network bandwidth should be solved by the help desk support team instead of referring
back to the faculty. IT monarchy is fitting governance for the decisions like aligning security
procedures to IS architecture specifications, where corporate IT (Individuals or groups of IT

Information Technologies and Resources (IT R ) responsible for taking decisions regarding IT

Symbiotic Relationships In South America
Presently, 6.8 billion people exist on the Earth today. Combined, the entirety of farmland needed for
these billions of people to be fed is equivalent to the size of South America. The population of Earth is
still steadily increasing. Populations are expected to continue rising to 9.6 billion within the year 2050.
Each one of these extra people also needing more healthy food, clean water, space, and energy to
survive. When these extra bodies arrive, in addition to crop late the size of South America, an extra
plot the size of Brazil will also be needed. This is not even including the land that every other creature

The excess of carbon in the atmosphere is the cause of global climate change. To reverse global
warming we must balance the carbon cycle by removing carbon from the atmosphere and returning it
to the plants and to the soil (4). Though in the end, carbon exists in everything and the carbon cycle is
much more complex because it includes every plant, animal, microbe, fallen tree, body of water, bit of
soil, breath of air, plume of smoke, combustion of fossil fuel, decaying particle, and bubble popping to
the surface of a swamp (5). Industrial farming has disrupted this cycle. If we completely halted the
burning of fossil fuels today, which we can not by any means, climate change would still continue
through modern agriculture. The key to reversing global warming is not solely through solar panels
and ethanol fuel, but in proper symbiotic farming

Japanese Economy During The World War
Introduction Since the Second World War, the Japanese economy had experienced remarkable growth,
transforming from a developing to an advanced developed economy in a single generation. However,
on the edge of a three decade long Economic Miracle, in the late 1980s, Japan faced its regrettable
bubble economy in which asset prices rapidly soared, money supply and credit underwent sizable
increase, and economic activity overheated for a prolonged period (Okina p.396). At the bubble s peak
in 1989, the Japanese stock market obtained a value of around $4 trillion, reaching the benchmark
Nikkei 225 stock average of ¥38,915 (four times the level they had been in 1983) (Siebert p.9). This
was approximately 44 percent of the world s equity market capitalization (Stone p.149). At around
similar time frame, Japan also saw a spectacular surge in land prices with the land values five times
that of the United States (Stone p.149). Hence, during this time, the economy relished an investment
and consumption boom to the extent that Japan rapidly became known as the world s largest creditor
country. However, such record growth fell drastically with the burst of the bubble: the stock market
plummeted by over 60 percent from its peak in 1989 to 1992 while speculative land prices fell over 50
percent and essential land prices declined by about 15 to 20 percent (Okina p.397). Overall, the
bursting of the bubble resulted in a detrimental decline in asset prices, the accumulation of enormous

Two Great Short Stories Read by Many are A Rose for Emily...
Two of the greatest short stories written back in late 19th and early 20th centuries are still read by
many people. The two stories are A Rose for Emily written by William Faulkner and Guy De
Maupassant s The Necklace . Faulkner s book is about a woman named Emily Grierson s life and her
horrible secret she hides. The other book is about a materialistic woman named Mathilde Loisel loses
a fake necklace and find out to be a fake one after ten years later. Although these stories are written
about fifty years apart and written from two different countries, these two stories have many
similarities and differences. A Rose for Emily and The Necklace are juxtaposed with the main
characters, usage of symbolism on the title, and the tone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also these items can reflect the strong symbolism in it. Faulkner used a rose, but De Maupassant used
the necklace to represent the main character s emotions in two items. The difference in those symbols
is that a rose has only appeared on the title but the necklace is the whole flow of the story. Faulkner
leaves the reader to interpret the rose s symbolic meaning. The rose is usually a powerful symbol of
love, it always has been, and portrays an everlasting beauty. Moreover, the rose has been used for
centuries to illustrate an eternal type of love and faithfulness. Therefore, readers can infer the meaning
that the rose present in the title, and portray it to Emily that she does not have love in her life. The
necklace, however it is the important items that lead to the climax of the story. It is pretty but
worthless, shows the awareness of appearance and real world. Also, the fake necklace shows Mathilde
s desire to be something she is not. The last comparison about these two narratives about tone. The
tone of two narratives is very ironic. There are many ironies to be found in A Rose for Emily. One of
the examples, when she is speaking with the Aldermen. They are trying to convince Emily to pay her
taxes and she simply repeated a person s name who has been dead for ten years. The other story The
Necklace also have many ironical quotes. Mathilde Loisel really wants to be in the upper class society,
but because she shows persistence borrowing the

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (Gad) Is Characterised By
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is characterised by exaggerated and excessive anxiety and
worry concerning everyday life events (Roemer, Orsillo, Barlow, 2002, as cited in Treanor, Erisman,
Salter Pedneault, Roemer, Orsillo, 2010). This can include; work, family, money and many other
factors. Approximately 2% of the population is affected by GAD (Stapinski, Abbott, Rapee, 2010, as
cited in Burton, Westen Kowalski, 2015). GAD majorly affects the way people think, which can also
result in physical symptoms. Patients can exhibit a broad range of symptoms, including; insomnia,
fatigue, headaches, nausea, sweating, irritability and so on (Sansgiry Sail, 2006). There are many
different methods employed for the treatment of GAD. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For some patients suffering from GAD, results can be seen even before 12 weeks. Treatment methods
characteristically include reading about the problem and keeping records amid appointments, in
addition to completing assignments in the home (Mitte, 2005). Mitte (2005) relied on many aspects to
determine the effectiveness of CBT over Pharmacotherapy, gathering 65 control studies. The
durability of the outcomes was a key fact that the research relied on to make a conclusion concerning
the effectiveness of CBT. Mitte (2005) suggested that the outcomes of using CBT were long lasting,
compared to the use of medication. However, in a study conducted by Rynn, Russell, Erickson, Detke,
Ball, Dinkel, Rickels, Raskin (2006) found that Pharmacotherapy was, in fact, an effective method of
treatment for GAD patients. Patients who received the drug treatment over the placebo reported a
dramatic reduction GAD symptom severity and maintenance (Rynn et al., 2006). Unlike ACT which
takes close to three months (Avdagic, Morrissey Boschen, 2014) and ERT around five months
(Mennin, Fresco, Ritter Heimberg 2015), CBT results can be visible between 12 16 weeks. However,
this could be a disadvantage, due to the short time which patients are exposed to treatment and the
chance of symptoms reoccurring. Although evidence exists of success using CBT for emotional
disorders like GAD, (Mitte, 2005), Mennin (2014) noted a sizeable subgroup of patients failing to

Pyrophobi Irrational Fear Of Fire
Pyrophobia
Do you know what pyrophobia is? Well a pyrophobia is an irrational fear of fire (Wikipedia.com).
Pyrophobia is one of the many phobias there are. It has serval causes and is accompanied by severe
symptoms, however there is treatment available for the condition.
Firstly, there are many causes of pyrophobia. The first cause of this phobia is a house fire. Being in a
house fire can cause people to be traumatic because they lose their house, personal items, and even
family members. The people that go through that has a very hard time recovering. They have to find
the money to buy or rent another house, buy other clothes, and maybe even plan funerals for their
loved ones. Another cause of pyrophobia is getting caught on fire. When

Edward Said States Essay
No Place Like Home Edward Said s States is an excerpt from his book After the Last Sky: Palestinian
Lives. It s a story about Palestine, once a country, but now spread out into a million pieces of the
people that once called it home. The pieces being more of memories of a time when Palestinians could
be who they are, not a scattered and forgotten people. They all face a new struggle, a struggle to find
their identity. Identity who we are, where we come from, what we are is difficult to maintain in exile.
Most other people take their identity for granted. Not the Palestinian, who is required to show proofs
of identity more or less constantly. (Page 546) Said, being Palestinian himself, tells us this story in
what was called a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In my opinion, I don t know if any other approach would have been this effective. This allows we as
readers to see more into the lives of Palestinians, rather than just read about it. Said starts off the story
describing a picture of the wedding of a Palestinian couple. Instead of describing the obvious of what
was happening in the picture, Said goes on to describe it in a way that only a true Palestinian would be
able to see. Cutting across the wedding party s path here is the ever present Mercedes, emblazoned
with its extra mark of authenticity, the proud D for Deutschland. A rare luxury in the West, the
Mercedes usually secondhand and smuggled in in the commonest of cars in the Levant. (Page 541) To
someone who did not grow up in Palestine, they would not know this piece of information. Pictures
such as this would provoke feelings and memories only a Palestinian would know. They would
remember a time that they were forced to forget. A time when they were forced to leave the only home
they ever knew. Before I read what Said had to say about his point of view, I never would have
thought farther into the picture other than the fact it was a picture of someone s wedding day. This is a
good example of why Said s choice of hybrid writing is effective in what he wants us as readers to
know. It brings us into his mind and allows us to understand a little better.

Sherman Alexie On The Greek
On the Amtrak from Boston to New York City by Sherman Alexie tells a story of a Native American
man who is on a train listening to this white woman talking about his culture. This frustrates the man
because he feels that the white woman country (America) took away his ancestors land. Alexie s poem
addresses the problem he has with American history and the problem he has with ignorant people. He
doesn t feel like his people were treated fairly throughout history, even though they arrived on the land
first. Sherman Alexie educates us about Native Americans and how they have been mistreated in
American history. Sherman Alexie s poem, On the Amtrak from Boston to New York City can be read
through a historical lens. First, let s start with the author Sherman Alexie; a fellow Native American,

The main character had two reactions: external and internal. First, the external reaction; the main
character reaction towards the lady looked like he didn t care for what the white woman had to say.
The character seemed standoffish every time the lady would bring up an ignorant comment towards
Native American people. In On the Amtrak from Boston to New York City Sherman Alexie explains in
a plain tone: All I really did was eat my tasteless sandwich, drink my Diet Pepsi and nod my head
whenever the woman pointed out another little piece of her country s history.(61) Now, this doesn t
seem like someone that s all in to talk; the main character is sick and tired of this lady comments. You
can tell by his expressions with nodding to everything; it seems like the main character is giving a clue
to the lady to leave him alone. And maybe this is the feeling of some Native American people when
someone brings up an ignorant comment about their history. They don t want to be bothered by the
negativity others are

Critiquing Qualitative Research Questions
Incorporating the key concept of sourcing information on crime as a community member wasn t
overly challenging. However, wording the questions and designing them so that there was no bias or
favor towards one answer was difficult at first. Finding enough ways to develop questions whilst
providing answers to the survey without fear of repetition to achieve a response for the research
questions with quantitative data was a challenge. The levels of measurement of the variable that was
used for this survey is ordinal. An ordinal scale has no natural origin and there is no real interval
between ranks on the scale, the ordinal scale is used to represent preferences and judgements , ordinal
scales commonly appear discreet instead of continuous (Basilevsky ... Show more content on

Complementarity exercises the use of results from one method to elaborate or clarify results from
another method whilst development using results from one method to develop and improve another
(Greene, Caracelli and Graham 1989, 259). Through using these two methods it allows us to develop
both the quantitative and qualitative results using the results of the other to elaborate and solidify the
other resulting in better data across both styles of the data analysis. The survey would enable us to
back up the trends found in the interview, ad the interview results would allow us to give insight into
the reason behind the survey findings. Overall the results of both the qualitative interview and the
quantitative survey would benefit the results of each other and provide a deeper insight into the trends
set by different variables and allow for some explanation as to why these trends would

Lab Report 5 A. Coughran 4/12/17
Objective:
The objective in Lab 5 is to measure and determine the strength and location of magnetic fields using
a coil, solenoid, and magnets. The experimental values of the strength of the magnetic fields of the
solenoid and the coil will be calculated and then compared to their respective theoretical values for
accuracy.
Theory:
Field line patterns exist within a magnetic field that is created by a current. These field lines of a coil
or a solenoid can be traced by using a compass because they create a dipole pattern, meaning that they
diverge from the north end and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, the negative and positive power supply plugs were switched to see if this had any effect on the
magnetic field of the coil. Both did not have significant effect.
Procedure B: Field Patterns Inside a Solenoid
A slinky was stretched on the lab bench and taped down with the turns of each slinky at roughly 1 cm
apart. Positive and negative alligator clips were then attached to each end of the slinky to allow for
current flow through the slinky. Next, a Vernier magnetic field probe was placed in the center of the
slinky, zeroed, and set to high sensitivity for accuracy. The power supply was then turned on and
adjusted until the current reached about 0.5A.
Data collection was started and the average experimental magnetic field values, B, were measured
several times for accuracy. An average of these values was then taken using the analyze statistics tool
and then stored in Logger Pro for inclusion in the data section. Next, the theoretical value B value for
the solenoid was measured using Equation 1 above and compared to the average experimental B value
mentioned previously in order to check the setup. A percent error was calculated between each of
these values at each current setting.
Once the setup showed good accuracy and was adjusted, the current was varied from 0A to 1.0A and
magnetic field data was collected. The magnetic field data and the

God to heal the dilemmas being faced. This line also alludes to Tupac Shakur s Hail Mary , one who
shared the same views on oppression as Beyonce and Lamar. In lines 38, moving backwards refers to
how throughout the first few bars of his verse, Lamar is literally counting backwards. Line 39 is an
allusion to his hometown of Compton and all neighborhoods in the African American communities

states seven misleading statements about my persona (line 40), alluding to the stereotypical and
derogatory terms associated with being an African American male. Linked with its previous line, Six

Fracture Hematoma Research Paper
A fracture occurs when there is a break in a bone. It can usually be healed, so long as portions of the
blood supply, periosteum, and endosteum are still intact. A fractured bone undergoes repair through a
series of four steps.
The first step in bone fracture repair is the formation of a hematoma. When blood vessels within the
bone tear, they hemorrhage. This results in the formation of a clot at the site of the break. Thus, a
fracture hematoma is formed, stopping the flow of blood into the fracture site which, in turn, cause
swelling.
Capillaries then grow into the fracture hematoma, while phagocytes start to clean up the dead cells
within the injury site. The fracture hematoma becomes more organized into a procallus. Fibroblasts

Solutions
The solutions to solve the budget information problem can be discussed as:
The management should have a policy to control both fixed and variable costs. Usually organizations
care about the fixed cost and they forgot about the variable costs. As discussed above the budget
information problem is that the control of fixed costs and variables costs is not communicated to the
low level management. The communication is the key to success for budget information problem. It is
recommended that management should adopt an approach of communication wherein the top
management can communicate freely with all the employees.

Enron And The Collapse Of Enron
INTRODUCTION
Enron, one of the most influential and profitable companies in utility, paper, and communications for
numerous years, came crashing down and filed for bankruptcy in fall 2001 (Bottiglieri, Revile, and
Grunewald 1). Houston National Gas and InterNorth fused together and created Enron in 1985. The
company faced initial problems of debt and loss of exclusive rights to pipelines (Thomas 1). This
accounting method allowed Enron to log entire profits from the life of a contract in the year the
company made the deal (Stewart 116).
Three individuals and one firm had major impacts in the collapse of Enron, which were Kenneth Lay,
Jeffrey Skilling, Andrew Fastow, and Arthur Andersen Accounting Firm. Kenneth Lay was the Chief
Executive Officer when the company began in 1985. (Cunningham and Harris 32). Jeffrey Skilling
was another key individual in the story of Enron and made his first major appearance in 1990. He held
many titles at Enron, including president and Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Executive Officer
(Chandra 100). The third individual is Andrew Fastow, who also joined Enron in 1990. Fastow s major
contribution to Enron was the use of special purpose entities. SPEs allowed the company to keep
losses and debts off Enron s financial statements and dump them in other hidden areas (Chandra 101).

Many People Only Think Of The Ancient Greeks As The Inventor
Many people only think of the ancient Greeks as the inventor of the Olympics, but they had many
artistic accomplishments as well. They influenced art for centuries after the philosopher Protagoras
claimed, man is the measure of all things , as the human body became the central focus of ancient
Greek art. No discussion of Greek history would be complete without mention of the art of ancient
Greece. Its classical Greek art and architecture has left its mark throughout the ages and across the
world. Greek art is categorized under three headings; the archaic period, the Classical period, and the
Hellenistic period. Some experts would also add a fourth heading: the geometric period, which
preceded the archaic style.

The whole war started because Athens supported the Ionian Greeks when they were rebelling in
Anatolia against the Persians. That made the Persian king Xerxes mad, so he led two major campaigns
against the Athenians, and the Athenians enlisted the help of all the other Greek city states. In the
wake of their shared victory, the city states began to see themselves as Greeks, rather than Spartans, or
Athenians. Leading into the Golden Age, Athens emerged as the de facto capital of Greece. The defeat
of the Persians in 479 BC left a long standing self importance on the Greek society and its civilization.
With the Athens domination of Greece in every way, it s not surprising that the Athenian influence is
plain to see in art. Many great things happened during the Golden Age, including the Parthenon, the
Parthenon was a temple that became a church, then a mosque, and then an armory before finally
settling into a ruin.
You also had political leaders like Pericles, whose famous funeral proclamation of the value of
democracy was given shortly after the first battles of the Peloponnesian war. As Funerals after such
battles were public rituals, Pericles used the occasion to state, If we look to the laws, they afford equal

Functional Group Decision Making
Functional Group Decision Making(FDM)
Definition
FDM answers the basic question asked by the developers of this theory. Their question is as follows.
Why do some groups make good decisions while others make bad ones? Their model argues that the
answer to this question has to do with whether the group has successfully accomplished four
functions, which they call requisite functions (pg.141). The four functions of this theory are problem
analysis, goal setting, identify alternatives, and evaluate and select. Problem analysis is when the
group focuses on the nature, extent and likely causes of the problem. This requires the group to be
careful when differentiating between problems and the symptoms of the problems. Goal setting is
when the group identifies what an ideal solution would look like. The group decides what elements are
necessary and what elements are ideal but not necessary. Identifying alternatives is when the group
generates a large number of possible solutions. This is when the group wants to brainstorm as many
possible solutions, no matter what the quality of the solution is. Finally, evaluate and select is when
the group evaluate each alternative using the established goals.
Examples From The Film
Goal setting is the first example that I found in the film. I saw this when the foreman says what the
goal of the jury is and what is needed for the guilty or not guilty verdict. I saw that one of the jurors
used problem analysis. This was when the juror started

How To Use Pathos, Persuasion Of Green Arrow And The Flash
DC Comic s Green Arrow and the Flash operate within the blurred lines of morality to justify their
pursuits to stop crime. When audiences attribute their moral reasoning to Green Arrow and the Flash,
it seems they, the main character, can do no wrong. It is only when the character deviates outside the
audiences moral compass that the audience perceive a lack of sound judgment. Green Arrow and The
Flash fight crime for different reasons. The Green Arrow fights crime to punish those who have failed
his city. In contrast, the Flash fights to preserve the inherent goodness of mankind. TV advertisements
for The Flash season three and Arrow season five rely on the use of pathos, persuasion through
emotion, to ground the audience in reality. By appealing to pathos (emotional persuasion), the
audience is more likely to concede to the ethos (ethical persuasion), logos (logical persuasion), and
kairos (a time when conditions are right for the accomplishment of a crucial action) of a character. To
take a case in point, if the individual becomes emotionally invested in a character, then the character s
actions seem more credible, ethical, and logical. This hypothesis functions on the idea that individuals
believe that they themselves would not act unjustly. Advertisements for Arrow use pathos to appeal to
people whose lives have been full of detachment. This is often reflected in the dark thematic tones of
the advertisements and the use of darker lighting. Also, advertisements put

The Importance Of Human Trafficking
Human trafficking is the ideal kidnapping of the century. Human trafficking is the most harmful crime
that should be taken seriously because of this crime it hurts young women and girls of all ages. Some
say that the crime might be reported, but it doesn t mean it s noticed. There is all the information on it,
the bad info, and ways to solve it, and ways to prevent it from happening to others. With this crime
being the most unnoticed reported crime, people should help solve it.
Human trafficking is the most hurtful and dangerous thing in the 21st century. It s ruining people s
families, and the world doesn t know about this kind of information because of the police force (etc.),
they keep it from getting out. They think that if they keep it from getting out no one will know, but I
think if people found out they will be willing to help out. Human trafficking is a crime against
humanity. We must unite our efforts to free victims and stop this crime that s becoming more
aggressive, that threatens not just individuals, but the foundational values of society. (Pope Francis).
So as you can see human trafficking should be the most important thing for society today because of
the number of lives they re taking away from their own families. However, human trafficking in people
s eyes is a serious crime and a grave violation of human rights.
Human trafficking is a type of serious crime that the world knows is the worst and should understand

Density of Sprite and Diet Sprite
Abstract:
The density of regular Sprite was found to be 1.037 +/ g/mL. compared to Diet Sprite which was
0.9965 +/ g/mL. Among the three volumetric glassware Pipette was most precise (ó=0.0016 g/mL).
Burette was the second best (ó=0.0023 g/mL) and graduated cylinder was the least precise (ó= 0.007
g/mL). Density was found to be intensive property. The slope of the graph of mass against volume was
1.05 g/mL, with the best linear fit for the data.

The variation of data on the graph may be the result of systematic or random errors. In this
experiment, volume is the independent variable which affected the mass calculated by the weighing
balance. Figure 1 also pointed out the precision of the three glassware used to measure the volume.
Pipette seemed to be the most precise instrument to use for measuring volume because most of the
Diet Sprite and all of the regular Sprite densities were calculated very closely. Burette was also
accurate but not as precise as pipette. There are some points on burette chart that go very high or very
low. This is probably because the volume was not measured accurately. Another error that altered the
data was the beaker used to measure the mass might have some solution in it already and thus mass of
the solution increased. Mistakes such as wrong measurement or calculations also affected the graph.
Pipette is the most precise because almost all the points are close to each other whereas graduated
cylinder is the least precise because the data is vastly spread on the graph 1. Figure 1: shows
measurements of Diet and regular Sprite with three different volumetric glassware The % error for
regular sprite for three kinds of volumetric glassware was calculated using the group data of regular

Essay Alternative Fuel
Abstract
The feasibility of adding AFVs (alternative fuel vehicles) to the Lotus Rental Car fleet is examined in
the attached research. The advantages and disadvantages of AFVs were analyzed. In addition, the
environmental effect of AFV use on future generations is also discussed. By comparing the overall
information and data of AFVs vs. petroleum fueled vehicles, and researching how other fleets have
successfully incorporated AFVs, the result is conclusive evidence that the addition of AFVs to the
Lotus fleet is a viable course of action for the future of Lotus.

Using alternative fuels helps reduce our nation s dependence on imported oil and improves air quality.
The Energy Policy Act of 1992 (EPAct) defines alternative fuels as electricity, ethanol, natural gas,
propane, methanol, hydrogen, and biodiesel (U.S. Department of Energy, What is the Energy Policy
Act of 1992, para. 2).
One of the main issues that requires examination is to find out more details regarding the many
different types of alternative fuels. With that thought in mind, the next step in our research process
was to weigh the pros and cons of the various alternative fuel types that would be feasible for the
Lotus Company to consider.
Since we are dealing with a rental fleet, both the cost of implementing a certain type of alternative fuel
vehicle as well as the availability of refueling stations must be considered when comparing the
viability of the different fuel types. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the availability of
refueling stations is an issue for vehicles that run on propane and natural gas (U.S. Department of
Energy, Alternative Fuels, para.8). With the number of refueling stations being inadequate for propane
and natural gas, these two alternative fuels can be ruled out as an option for the Lotus fleet because the
Lotus customers are not going to rent vehicles if refueling stations are not readily available. In
addition, the problems with using natural gas vehicles are going to

Our objective for the Sherlock Holmes Experiment was to illustrate that some chemicals can be
identified or differentiated by simple chemical tests, such as solubility, pH, or color tests. In our group
we had to test come common powders such as Alka Seltzer, baking soda, flour, Vitamin C (ascorbic
acid), and salt. Other chemicals that were used to do this experiment were vinegar, and Iodine 2
Solution. The equipment used to do this experiment was red litmus paper, and 5 test tubes per group.
After all materials were gathered, we then had to do five different tests to determine what the powder
material does. The first test was to see what the powder materials do in water. We had to add a scoop

The Vitamin C turned to a red/orange color with no physical/chemical reaction. For the salt the
solution turned to an orange color with no physical/chemical reaction. With the Alka Seltzer, the
solution turned to a brown color with no reaction as well. Last but not least, the Baking soda turned to
an orange/brown color with no reaction.
In the last test, we had to test out a mystery powder (powder A, B, C), in its own separate test tube, in
order to solve the Sherlock Holmes Mystery. Our group had powder C. When we mixed water in the
mystery powder, it did not dissolve. When the litmus paper was put into the test tube it turned blue.
When the vinegar was mixed it bubbled/foamed up. When we mixed the iodine solution, there was no
reaction and the solution turned to a dark brown/black color. When we mixed in the baking soda there
was no reaction and it turned to an even darker color. In conclusion, after we had tested the mystery
powder, we had to solve the mystery of who stole Jamal Jackson s iPad. There were four suspects
which were, Ruby, Ima, Manly, and Beau, who were seen at the time the iPad disappeared. I then
cancelled out all the common powders that had no comparison to the mystery powder. The flour,
vitamin C, and salt did not have any comparison which left only the Alka Seltzer and the baking soda.
The comparisons of the Alka Seltzer and the baking soda were very similar. They were just about the
same as the mystery powder. So I then

Local Governments In Texas
In Texas local governments play a major role in the wellbeing and safety of its citizens. In each county
of Texas there are an average of about 19 general purpose governments, that means that all the county

America all but two states have governmental units known as counties or parishes. County
government is primarily a way of governing rural areas, because Texas is so vast, with huge areas that
are sparsely populated, county government remains an important aspect of local government. County

Systems using LS may require secondary treatment to meet that goal. Activated Alumina (AA) is
effective in treating water with high total dissolved solids (TDS). However, selenium, fluoride,
chloride, and sulfate, if present at high levels, may compete for adsorption sites. AA is highly selective
towards As(V); and this strong attraction results in regeneration problems, possibly resulting in 5 to 10
percent loss of adsorptive capacity for each run. Application of point of use treatment devices would
need to consider regeneration and replacement. Ion Exchange (IE) can effectively remove arsenic.
However, sulfate, TDS, selenium, fluoride, and nitrate compete with arsenic and can affect run length.
Passage through a series of columns could improve removal and decrease regeneration frequency.
Suspended solids and precipitated iron can cause clogging of the IE bed. Systems containing high
levels of these constituents may require pretreatment. Reverse Osmosis (RO) provided removal
efficiencies of greater than 95 percent when operating pressure is at ideal psi. If RO is used by small
systems in the western U. S. , 60% water recovery will lead to an increased need for raw water. The
water recovery is the volume of water produced by the process divided by the influent stream (product
water/influent stream). Discharge of reject water or brine may also be a concern. If RO is used by

Mechanisms of Change Reaction when theory is applied Basic Observation Outcomes Bandura (1977)
Social Learning Theory: Albert Bandura s Social Learning Theory believes that learning occurs in a
social context through observation, imitation, and direct instruction. It comprises of attention,
retention, reproduction, and motivation. *Attention *Retention *Reproduction *Motivation *Attention
this implies that to accurately learn by observation, a person must pay attention to the person doing the
modeling and should steer away from any possible distraction. *Retention this is a poignant part of the
social learning process as the behavior may have been observed, but it is not always remembered
which thus prevents imitation or mimicry (McLeod, 2006). *Reproduction this is the process where
the student practices the recently learned behavior, and it is majorly dependent on the physical
capabilities of the observer to reproduce the behavior. *Motivation a person has to value the benefit of
continuously performing the action. Therefore, this development is often driven by positive
reinforcement for demonstrating the behavior correctly or punishment for applying the behavior
inappropriately (Sincero, 2011). Bandura s Social Learning Theory has been used to understand the
behavior of children in a social setting. For example, a new student who observes how his/her peers

Kashmir As A Forgotten Casualty Of The World
Since the day of the British Partition from India, there has been one absolving issue that has been
ignored by much of the world. Surrounded on three sides, by three nuclear powers, the region of
Kashmir has become a forgotten casualty of the aftermath. The region has since crafted a history of
violent struggle for sovereignty and freedom. Kashmir has become symbolic of the nearly century
long Indo paki struggle that has left inhabitants of the region in turmoil. The bloody history of the
region, and the way the issue has been handled brings up the question of what is the best way to
handle the situation? The region of Kashmir has been claimed by both India and Pakistan, while a
large percentage of the population want independence, all three parties have been at a near century
long struggle, that can only be solved when the originally proposed solution of a plebiscite is put into
place. In order to understand the current situation in Kashmir, it is necessary to understand the history
of the region. The British sold Kashmir to Maharajah Ghulab Singh in 1846. Subsequently, Maharajah
Ghulab Singh established himself as the independent princely ruler of Kashmir. This was done
through the famous treaty of Amritsar. After Ghulab Singh s death, his kingdom passed on to his

Essay on Hero-Anti Hero
Superman, Wonder Woman, Spiderman what do all these characters have in common? They are all
products of the human aspiration to be saved. The word hero is passed around too much these days. A
hero is not a football player that scores the game winning touchdown or the goaltender who saves his
team from a loss. A hero is usually an ordinary person that did extraordinary things. A true hero is
really never a hero at all; at least not in their own mind. However, there are various cases today in
which we see the exact opposites of these characters, the anti heroes. The anti hero is one who cannot
be classified as a hero, for that said character lacks natural heroic qualities. However, the anti hero
cannot be described as a villain either. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On his 40th Labor Day telethon in 2005, Jerry Lewis added Salvation Army fundraising for Hurricane
Katrina to his usual Muscular Dystrophy Assosiation fundraising, though he also encouraged viewers
to give to the American Red Cross. Not all of what Jerry Lewis has done has been good, but no hero is
perfect. Aside from controversy from the community of disabled people with comments he has made,
Jerry Lewis can still be considered a hero for the great charitable work he has done for the benefit of
others.
A reasonable example for an anti hero could be Al Capone. Despite the common image that is
portrayed in society of Al Capone, there was some that Capone did as good for others during the
Depression. Part of the reason Capone was taken to task in this way was his status as a celebrity.
Capone often tried to suppress his image and be seen as a community leader. For instance, he started a
program to fight rickets by providing a daily milk ration to Chicago school children. Also during the
Great Depression, he attempted to open up many soup kitchens for the poor and homeless. Although
most of the money he used to do this may have been related to his selling or gang violence, or even his
bootlegging of liqour, he still attempted using some of it for a good cause. He acquired a great deal of
appreciation from abounding poor persons in Chicago for his blatant disregard of the Prohibition law
that they loathed. He was percepted

However, guardians and educators communicated the significance of nursery rhymes to children at a youthful age, asserting that they are critical for them to build up an urge for dialect, syllables, and rhythm. Individuals would think that nursery rhymes were sweet and innocent, but in between those lines was a hidden message that was derogatory. Nursery rhymes originated in Britain roughly around the seventeenth hundreds. Many nursery rhymes were popular poems like Hickory Dickory Dock. Be that as it may, does Hickory Dickory Dock have a mischievous significance behind its snappy tune? Hickory Dickory Dock is a straightforward nursery rhyme about a mouse and a clock. However, it presumably alludes to one of Britain s minimum rulers who showed up on the political scene in the seventeenth century. This nursery rhyme initially published in 1743; yet, is thought to allude to previous events in the earlier century. England was a republic between the execution of King Charles I in 1649 and the reclamation of the government, under King Charles II, in 1660. Richard was given power because his brother died which led him to take his throne. As a result, Richard Cromwell went on for nine months as Lord Protector before offering his resignation. Richard was permitted to leave the nation for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even though the university followed a centralized organizational model was not consistent throughout and there was a hidden decentralization of the IT governance. • 5. Japanese Economy During The World War Introduction Since the Second World War, the Japanese economy had experienced remarkable growth, transforming from a developing to an advanced developed economy in a single generation. However, on the edge of a three decade long Economic Miracle, in the late 1980s, Japan faced its regrettable bubble economy in which asset prices rapidly soared, money supply and credit underwent sizable increase, and economic activity overheated for a prolonged period (Okina p.396). At the bubble s peak in 1989, the Japanese stock market obtained a value of around $4 trillion, reaching the benchmark Nikkei 225 stock average of ¥38,915 (four times the level they had been in 1983) (Siebert p.9). This was approximately 44 percent of the world s equity market capitalization (Stone p.149). At around similar time frame, Japan also saw a spectacular surge in land prices with the land values five times that of the United States (Stone p.149). Hence, during this time, the economy relished an investment and consumption boom to the extent that Japan rapidly became known as the world s largest creditor country. However, such record growth fell drastically with the burst of the bubble: the stock market plummeted by over 60 percent from its peak in 1989 to 1992 while speculative land prices fell over 50 percent and essential land prices declined by about 15 to 20 percent (Okina p.397). Overall, the bursting of the bubble resulted in a detrimental decline in asset prices, the accumulation of enormous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The other book is about a materialistic woman named Mathilde Loisel loses a fake necklace and find out to be a fake one after ten years later. Also these items can reflect the strong symbolism in it. Faulkner used a rose, but De Maupassant used the necklace to represent the main character s emotions in two items. The difference in those symbols is that a rose has only appeared on the title but the necklace is the whole flow of the story. Faulkner leaves the reader to interpret the rose s symbolic meaning. The rose is usually a powerful symbol of love, it always has been, and portrays an everlasting beauty. Moreover, the rose has been used for centuries to illustrate an eternal type of love and faithfulness. Therefore, readers can infer the meaning that the rose present in the title, and portray it to Emily that she does not have love in her life. The necklace, however it is the important items that lead to the climax of the story. It is pretty but worthless, shows the awareness of appearance and real world. Mitte (2005) relied on many aspects to determine the effectiveness of CBT over Pharmacotherapy, gathering 65 control studies. The durability of the outcomes was a key fact that the research relied on to make a conclusion concerning the effectiveness of CBT. Mitte (2005) suggested that the outcomes of using CBT were long lasting, compared to the use of medication. However, in a study conducted by Rynn, Russell, Erickson, Detke, Ball, Dinkel, Rickels, Raskin (2006) found that Pharmacotherapy was, in fact, an effective method of treatment for GAD patients. Patients who received the drug treatment over the placebo reported a dramatic reduction GAD symptom severity and maintenance (Rynn et al., 2006). This allows we as readers to see more into the lives of Palestinians, rather than just read about it. Said starts off the story describing a picture of the wedding of a Palestinian couple. Instead of describing the obvious of what was happening in the picture, Said goes on to describe it in a way that only a true Palestinian would be able to see. Cutting across the wedding party s path here is the ever present Mercedes, emblazoned with its extra mark of authenticity, the proud D for Deutschland. A rare luxury in the West, the Mercedes usually secondhand and smuggled in in the commonest of cars in the Levant. They would remember a time that they were forced to forget. A time when they were forced to leave the only home they ever knew. Before I read what Said had to say about his point of view, I never would have thought farther into the picture other than the fact it was a picture of someone s wedding day. Positive and negative alligator clips were then attached to each end of the slinky to allow for current flow through the slinky. Next, a Vernier magnetic field probe was placed in the center of the slinky, zeroed, and set to high sensitivity for accuracy. The power supply was then turned on and adjusted until the current reached about 0.5A. Data collection was started and the average experimental magnetic field values, B, were measured several times for accuracy. An average of these values was then taken using the analyze statistics tool and then stored in Logger Pro for inclusion in the data section. Next, the theoretical value B value for the solenoid was measured using Equation 1 above and compared to the average experimental B value mentioned previously in order to check the setup. The first step in bone fracture repair is the formation of a hematoma. When blood vessels within the bone tear, they hemorrhage. This results in the formation of a clot at the site of the break. Thus, a fracture hematoma is formed, stopping the flow of blood into the fracture site which, in turn, cause swelling. • 22. Functional Group Decision Making Functional Group Decision Making(FDM) Definition FDM answers the basic question asked by the developers of this theory. Their question is as follows. Why do some groups make good decisions while others make bad ones? Their model argues that the answer to this question has to do with whether the group has successfully accomplished four functions, which they call requisite functions (pg.141). The four functions of this theory are problem analysis, goal setting, identify alternatives, and evaluate and select. Problem analysis is when the group focuses on the nature, extent and likely causes of the problem. This requires the group to be careful when differentiating between problems and the symptoms of the problems. Goal setting is when the group identifies what an ideal solution would look like. The group decides what elements are necessary and what elements are ideal but not necessary. Identifying alternatives is when the group generates a large number of possible solutions. This is when the group wants to brainstorm as many possible solutions, no matter what the quality of the solution is. Finally, evaluate and select is when the group evaluate each alternative using the established goals. Examples From The Film Goal setting is the first example that I found in the film. • 25. How To Use Pathos, Persuasion Of Green Arrow And The Flash DC Comic s Green Arrow and the Flash operate within the blurred lines of morality to justify their pursuits to stop crime. When audiences attribute their moral reasoning to Green Arrow and the Flash, it seems they, the main character, can do no wrong. It is only when the character deviates outside the audiences moral compass that the audience perceive a lack of sound judgment. Green Arrow and The Flash fight crime for different reasons. The Green Arrow fights crime to punish those who have failed his city. In contrast, the Flash fights to preserve the inherent goodness of mankind. TV advertisements for The Flash season three and Arrow season five rely on the use of pathos, persuasion through emotion, to ground the audience in reality. By appealing to pathos (emotional persuasion), the audience is more likely to concede to the ethos (ethical persuasion), logos (logical persuasion), and kairos (a time when conditions are right for the accomplishment of a crucial action) of a character. To take a case in point, if the individual becomes emotionally invested in a character, then the character s actions seem more credible, ethical, and logical. This hypothesis functions on the idea that individuals believe that they themselves would not act unjustly. Advertisements for Arrow use pathos to appeal to people whose lives have been full of detachment. This is often reflected in the dark thematic tones of the advertisements and the use of darker lighting. Also, advertisements put ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Density of Sprite Hamza Aziz General Chemistry I Lab 09/12/2007 Lab 7 Density of Sprite and Diet Sprite Abstract: The density of regular Sprite was found to be 1.037 +/ g/mL. compared to Diet Sprite which was 0.9965 +/ g/mL. Among the three volumetric glassware Pipette was most precise (ó=0.0016 g/mL). Burette was the second best (ó=0.0023 g/mL) and graduated cylinder was the least precise (ó= 0.007 g/mL). Density was found to be intensive property. The slope of the graph of mass against volume was 1.05 g/mL, with the best linear fit for the data. In this experiment, volume is the independent variable which affected the mass calculated by the weighing balance. Figure 1 also pointed out the precision of the three glassware used to measure the volume. Pipette seemed to be the most precise instrument to use for measuring volume because most of the Diet Sprite and all of the regular Sprite densities were calculated very closely. Burette was also accurate but not as precise as pipette. There are some points on burette chart that go very high or very low. This is probably because the volume was not measured accurately. Another error that altered the data was the beaker used to measure the mass might have some solution in it already and thus mass of the solution increased. Mistakes such as wrong measurement or calculations also affected the graph. Pipette is the most precise because almost all the points are close to each other whereas graduated cylinder is the least precise because the data is vastly spread on the graph 1. Figure 1: shows measurements of Diet and regular Sprite with three different volumetric glassware The % error for regular sprite for three kinds of volumetric glassware was calculated using the group data of regular Sprite from all three labs on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday by getting the average and subtracting it from the average of resulted densities in ... Using alternative fuels helps reduce our nation s dependence on imported oil and improves air quality. The Energy Policy Act of 1992 (EPAct) defines alternative fuels as electricity, ethanol, natural gas, propane, methanol, hydrogen, and biodiesel (U.S. Department of Energy, What is the Energy Policy Act of 1992, para. 2). One of the main issues that requires examination is to find out more details regarding the many different types of alternative fuels. With that thought in mind, the next step in our research process was to weigh the pros and cons of the various alternative fuel types that would be feasible for the Lotus Company to consider. Since we are dealing with a rental fleet, both the cost of implementing a certain type of alternative fuel vehicle as well as the availability of refueling stations must be considered when comparing the viability of the different fuel types. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the availability of refueling stations is an issue for vehicles that run on propane and natural gas (U.S. Department of Energy, Alternative Fuels, para.8). With the number of refueling stations being inadequate for propane and natural gas, these two alternative fuels can be ruled out as an option for the Lotus fleet because the Lotus customers are not going to rent vehicles if refueling stations are not readily available. Systems using LS may require secondary treatment to meet that goal. Activated Alumina (AA) is effective in treating water with high total dissolved solids (TDS). However, selenium, fluoride, chloride, and sulfate, if present at high levels, may compete for adsorption sites. AA is highly selective towards As(V); and this strong attraction results in regeneration problems, possibly resulting in 5 to 10 percent loss of adsorptive capacity for each run. Application of point of use treatment devices would need to consider regeneration and replacement. Systems containing high levels of these constituents may require pretreatment. Reverse Osmosis (RO) provided removal efficiencies of greater than 95 percent when operating pressure is at ideal psi. If RO is used by small systems in the western U. Theorist Theory Description Characteristics of the Theory Process Application of Learning Mechanisms of Change Reaction when theory is applied Basic Observation Outcomes Bandura (1977) Social Learning Theory: Albert Bandura s Social Learning Theory believes that learning occurs in a social context through observation, imitation, and direct instruction. It comprises of attention, retention, reproduction, and motivation. *Attention *Retention *Reproduction *Motivation *Attention this implies that to accurately learn by observation, a person must pay attention to the person doing the modeling and should steer away from any possible distraction. *Retention this is a poignant part of the social learning process as the behavior may have been observed, but it is not always remembered which thus prevents imitation or mimicry (McLeod, 2006). *Reproduction this is the process where the student practices the recently learned behavior, and it is majorly dependent on the physical capabilities of the observer to reproduce the behavior. *Motivation a person has to value the benefit of continuously performing the action. Therefore, this development is often driven by positive reinforcement for demonstrating the behavior correctly or punishment for applying the behavior inappropriately (Sincero, 2011). Bandura s Social Learning Theory has been used to understand the behavior of children in a social setting. For example, a new student who observes how his/her peers ...
