INTRODUCTION
Staging a play or any theatrical actions requires careful preparation. But the
most important thing is to choosethe right play among the great variety of plays in
the literary world that would suit the cast, would be interesting for performers and
spectators, and most importantly, could become a kind of "springboard" for the
development of creative abilities of actors and directors.
Therefore, in this collection, each play is aimed at the development of
aesthetic, creative abilities, talent, the sphere of feelings, complicity, empathy;
activation of mental and cognitive interest; mastering communication skills and
collective creativity.
The material collected in this bookalso focuses on the students’ reading
skills with the further development of speaking and writing habits. Critical
thinking activities and discussioninvolvement will surely make presentation more
effective. The context of the texts, feedback tasks, gap information activities of the
sections fully coincide with the idea of communicative approachin teaching
English.
The tales given in this bookare easy and understandable. With the teacher’s
help pupils will read the stories aloud and then re-read some of them individually
in small groups.
The authors are truthfully hoping that the following materials will be useful
for the teachers of English and all those learning and mastering the English
language.

Bees 1-7
Scene 1
Storyteller: Once a time Winnie the Poohlived in a forest under the name of
Sanders. The trees in the forest were big and tall. All the animals living there had
6
the name over the doorin gold letters. So, let’s start our story about this sweet
bear.
Winnie the Pooh: Wow! What a wonderful day is! The sun is shining in the blue
sky. The birds are singing merry songs. I think it’s a good time to have a walk.
Storyteller: So, Winnie the Poohcame to an open place in the middle of the forest
and saw his friend Piglet.
Piglet: Hello, Winnie! What a nice morning it is, isn’t it?
Winnie the Pooh: Oh, yes, it’s true. By the way, my dear friend, what are you
doing here? You live far away from this place.
Piglet: Do you see that large oak tree?
Winnie the Pooh: Yes, so...
Piglet: So, from the top of the tree a loud buzzing noise is coming and I can’t sleep
well.
Winnie the Pooh: You are right. This buzzing noise means something.
Piglet: Of course, it does. If there is a buzzing noise, somebodyis making a
buzzing noise. Don’t you know who it can be?
Winnie the Pooh: Oh, yes! I know this sound! Bees are making this noise!
Piglet: Bees?! Are you sure?
Winnie the Pooh: Of course, and the only reason for being a bee that I know of is
making honey.
Piglet: Oh, I see. You are a sweet tooth, so you can smell the honey wherever you
are.
Winnie the Pooh: You are right and the
only reason for making honey is so as I
can eat it.
Piglet: And how are you going to get
it?
Winnie the Pooh: It is very simple. I’m
going to climb the tree.
Piglet: To climb the tree?! It is rather dangerous and the tree is very high. Aren’t
you scared?
7
Winnie the Pooh: Oh, stop talking these things. If I am hungry as a wolf, nothing
can stop me. By the way, this oak tree is not as high as you think.
Piglet: As you wish. Good luck, my friend. I have to go. It’s time for having lunch.
Winnie the Pooh: Ok, bye!
Piglet: Bye!
Scene 2
Storyteller: So, Piglet went to have lunch and Winnie the Poohbegan climbing the
tree. He climbed and climbed. He had a good mood and sang a little song to
himself.
Isn't it funny
How a bear likes honey?
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
I wonder why he does?
Oh, I like this song very much!
Storyteller: At the same time bees were working in their beehive.
Bee 1: OK, my sisters, well done. Look! It’s a great day today. The sun is shining,
the trees are blossoming. We have to work harder and harder to make a lot of
honey.
Bee 2: You are right. No pain, no gain.
Bee 3: If we gather a lot of honey, we won’t starve in winter. But dear sisters, do
you hear that?
Bee 4: Oh, it seems to me that somebodyis singing. Do you have a good mood,
sister?
Bee 5: It’s not me. I’m not singing. I don’thave any time for doing such silly
things. You know we have to work and not to sing.
Bee 6: By the way, she doesn’thave such a voice. Listen to it.
Winnie the Pooh:
It's a very funny thought that, if Bears were Bees,
They'd build their nests at the bottom of trees.
And that being so (if the Bees were Bears),
We shouldn't have to climb up all these stairs.
8
Bee 7: Yes, it’s not you or anyone else from us. Who can it be?
Bee 6: And the song is getting louder and louder. I think somebodyis climbing our
tree.
Bee 5: But why is he climbing? And what does he want to do?
Bee 4: Let’s wait and see.
Winnie the Pooh: OK, I’m almost there. I can’t wait to taste this delicious honey.
One more step is left and…
Storyteller: And when Winnie the Poohstood onthe branch he heard a loud sound
“Crack!” The branch was dry and the poorbear flew gracefully into a gorse bush.
Winnie the Pooh: Oh my God!I’m alive! Thank you! But I want to get that honey.
Hmmm! I have got a great idea!
Scene 3
Storyteller: So, Winnie the Poohwent round to his friend Christopher Robin who
lived behind a green doorin another part of the forest.
Winnie the Pooh: Good morning, Christopher Robin.
Christopher Robin:Good morning, Winnie.
Winnie the Pooh: Christopher Robin, do you have a balloon?
Christopher Robin:A balloon? What’s for?
Winnie the Pooh: I want to get honey.
Christopher Robin:But you don’tget honey with balloons!
Winnie the Pooh: I do!
Christopher Robin:OK, I have got two balloons. One is blue and the other one is
green. But tell me, please, how will you get honey with the balloon?
Winnie the Pooh: When you go after honey with a balloon, the great thing is not to
let the bees know you are coming.
Christopher Robin:So?
Winnie the Pooh: So, if I have a green balloon, they might think I were only part of
the tree.
Christopher Robin:And the blue one?
Winnie the Pooh: And if I have a blue balloon, they might think I were only part of
the sky. I want to look like a small cloud.
9
Christopher Robin:Then, I think, you should take the blue balloon.
Winnie the Pooh: Are you sure?
Christopher Robin:I am.
Storyteller: After that Christopher Robin and Winnie the Poohwent to the oak
tree.
Winnie the Pooh: Christopher Robin, stop for a while, do you see that muddy
place?
Christopher Robin:Yes, I do. So, what?
Winnie the Pooh: I want to roll in it.
Christopher Robin:But what for?
Winnie the Pooh: I’ll roll until I’m black all over and then bees will think that I’m
a black cloud.
Christopher Robin:OK, it’s a good idea!
Scene 4
Storyteller: And Winnie the Poohrolled himself in the muddy place. When the
balloon was blown up, Winnie the Poohfloated gracefully up into the sky.
Christopher Robin:Hooray! We did it!
Winnie the Pooh: What do I look like?
Christopher Robin:You look like a Bear holding on to a balloon.
Winnie the Pooh: Are you sure? Perhaps from up here it looks different. But...
Christopher Robin:But what?
Winnie the Pooh: Christopher Robin, I can see the honey, I can smell it but I can’t
reach it.
Christopher Robin:Why can’t you do it? What’s happened?
Winnie the Pooh: There is no wind here. That’s why I can’t get honey and I think
the bees suspectsomething.
Bee 3: Dear sisters! Look! What a strange thing is outdoors!
Bee 2: What’s this? Is it a huge black… What’s this? I can’t even tell you what it
looks like.
Bee 1: It looks like a black cloud but the clouds usually don’tfly so low… and it
seems to me that this cloud is alive.
10
Bee 7: Maybe, this something wants to get our honey.
Bee 6: Let’s wait for this cloud’s
actions.
Winnie the Pooh: Christopher
Robin, do you have an umbrella
in your house?
Christopher Robin:Yes, so
what?
Winnie the Pooh: I wish you would bring it out here, and walk up and down with
it, and look up at me every now and say “It looks like rain”.
Christopher Robin:OK, I’ll bring it!
Bee 5: Oh, dear sisters, look! I think it will be raining like cats and dogs.
Bee 4: Why do you think so?
Bee 5: Somebodyis walking down the tree with an umbrella.
Bee 3: But the sun is shining brightly in the blue sky. To my mind, there is
something wrong with this cloud.
Bee 2: Let’s fly up to it and get to know what is going on here.
Winnie the Pooh: Christopher Robin, I think these bees are the wrong bees!
Christopher Robin:Are they? Why do you think so?
Winnie the Pooh: They are still buzzing as suspiciously as ever. So, I think I will
come down.
Christopher Robin:But how will you
do this?
Winnie the Pooh: You must shootthe
balloon with your gun.
Christopher Robin:But if I do that, it
will spoil the balloon.
Winnie the Pooh: Do as I’m saying,
shoot!
Storyteller: And Christopher Robin shot. There was a terrible noise and the Bear
screamed.
11
Winnie the Pooh: OW!
Christopher Robin:Did I miss?
Winnie the Pooh: No, you didn’t miss but you missed the balloon and now my
bodyhurts.
Christopher Robin:I’m sorry, my friend. I’ll try again.
Storyteller: So, Christopher Robin shot again and this time he hit the balloon and
the air came slowly out and Winnie the Poohfloated down the ground.
Bee 1: Oh, look! I’ve told you that it was not the cloud.
Bee 2: You were right. And now let’s work.
Bee 3: OK, let’s work.
Storyteller: And after that Christopher
Robin and Winnie the Poohwent home.
Christopher Robin promised to give his
friend a jar of jam because he knew how
his friend liked tasty things. All is well
that ends well. But it’s not the end of our
story about the funny Bear who liked
honey.

Scene 1
Storyteller: Everyone awoke in the Forest. It was summer and each animal was
happy about the usual warm summer morning. But not Eeyore, the grey donkey,
who was standing by the side of the stream. He was looking at himself in the
water, noticing nothing.
Eeyore: Morning, Eeyore. It is a usual summer morning, isn’t it? What are you
doing? Nothing? As I thought. By the way, what is there on the other side of the
stream? Nothing? As I thought. No better from that side. But nobodyminds.
Nobodycares.
Storyteller: Suddenly he heard a crackling noise. Somebodywas coming up to
him. In a few minutes Winnie the Poohcame out. He was very glad to see his
friend, the grey donkey.
15
Winnie the Pooh: Good morning, Eeyore. What a beautiful morning is, is not it?
How are you?
Eeyore: Good morning, Winnie. I supposethat this morning is lovely for you but
not for me.
Winnie the Pooh: Why, what’s the matter? What’s happened?
Eeyore: Why do you think so?Is anything the matter?
Winnie the Pooh: Sorry, but it seems to me that you look so sad.
Eeyore: Sad? Oh, no! Why should I be sad? Todayis the happiest day of the year.
It’s my birthday.
Winnie the Pooh: Wow! Your birthday? Really?
Eeyore: Of course! Can’t you see? Look around. I’ve got a lot of presents from my
friends: balls, balloons, small and big toys, and a pair of roller-skates. Can you
imagine it?
Winnie the Pooh: Presents? Where? Eeyore, what are you talking about? There’s
nothing here.
Eeyore: Are you sure? Can’t you see them?
Winnie the Pooh: No, I can’t.
Eeyore: Neither can I.
Winnie the Pooh: Sorry, my friend, but is it really your birthday?
Eeyore: Yes, it is.
Winnie the Pooh: My congratulations! Many happy returns of the day, Eeyore.
Stay here, I’ll be in a few minutes.
Scene 2
Storyteller: Winnie the Poohwanted his friend Eeyore be happy on such a great
day. He was sure he had to get Eeyore a present. So, Winnie hurried back home as
quickly as he could. When he got home he saw Piglet and Rabbit near the tree.
Winnie the Pooh: Hello, friends. What are you doing here?
Piglet: Oh, hello, Winnie.
Rabbit:Hello, Bear. Don’t you remember? We’re going to have lunch together.
Winnie the Pooh: Oh, that’s right. Sorry, friends, but we can’t have lunch today.
I’m so busy. I have to do something.
16
Piglet: Why are you so busy? What are you going to do?
Rabbit:Maybe, we’ll help you.
Winnie the Pooh: I’ve just seen Eeyore. He was very sad.
Rabbit:Winnie, you know that Eeyore is always sad.
Winnie the Pooh: No, it’s his birthday today and nobodyknew about it.
Piglet: Really? I didn’t know… So, what are you going to do?
Winnie the Pooh: I want to get him some present.
Rabbit:It’s a good idea. What’s it like?
Winnie the Pooh: I don’tknow. I’ll find something in my house.
Piglet: Look, Winnie there is a small jar of honey in the cupboard.
Winnie the Pooh: Right you are, Piglet. It’ll be a wonderful present. I’m giving this
to Eeyore.
Rabbit: Couldn’t we give it too? From all of us?
Winnie the Pooh: No, that would not be a good plan.
Piglet: Hmmm… All right, then, I’ll give him a balloon. There is one left from my
party. And what will you give to Eeyore, Rabbit?
Rabbit:I’ll give him the biggest carrot I have.
Winnie the Pooh: If so, Eeyore will be happy.
Piglet: Then I’ll go home to get the present. Rabbit, are you going too?
Rabbit: Of course, let’s go.
Scene 3
Storyteller: It was a warm day and Winnie had a long way to go. The smell of the
honey was so tasty that Winnie got hungry very much. He sat down, taking the top
off his jar of honey and began to it. And then, suddenly, he remembered that he
was going to Eeyore’s birthday. Looking inside the jar, Winnie was amused.
Winnie the Pooh: The jar is empty! What will I do?I must give Eeyore something.
Well, it’s a very nice pot. It can be used by Eeyore. He can keep different things in
it which can be very useful. But I have to write something on it. Something like
that “A Happy Birthday”. But who can write it?
17
Storyteller: And he remembered that the only animal in the Forestwho could write
was the Wise Owl. So, he decided to go to the Hundred Acre Wood where she
lived.
Winnie the Pooh: Good morning, Owl. What are you doing? Aren’t you busy? I
need your help.
Owl: Hello, Pooh. I’m having
lunch with Tiger right now.
Tiger: Hello, Winnie. You are so
serious. What’s happened?
Winnie the Pooh: Hello, Tiger.
Many happy returns of Eeyore’s
birthday.
Owl: Are you kidding, Bear?
Tiger: Really? Has he got a birthday today?
Winnie the Pooh: I’m not joking, friends. Eeyore is celebrating his birthday today.
And I want to give him this nice pot.
Tiger: Hmmm… Somebodyhas been keeping honey in it.
Winnie the Pooh: You can keep everything in it. Dear Owl, I want you to write “A
Happy Birthday” on it.
Owl: Really?
Winnie the Pooh: Of course, because my writing is awful. Spelling is good, you
know, but writing… By the way you are the only one who can write very well.
Tiger: Dear Owl, Winnie is right.
Owl: Ok, I’ll right what you’ve asked on it.
Storyteller: So, Winnie washed the potout and dried it. The Owl tookthe pencil,
licked it and wrote:
HIPY PAPY BTHUTHDTH THUTHDA
BTHUTHDY.
Owl: I’m just saying “A Happy Birthday”.
Tiger: It’s a nice long one.
Winnie the Pooh: Right you are, Tiger.
18
Owl: Well, actually, of course, I’m saying “A Very Happy Birthday with love from
Pooh”.
Winnie the Pooh: Oh, I see.
Tiger: Looks great! By the way, Winnie, couldn’t we give this pot too?
Winnie the Pooh: No. That wouldn’t be a good plan.
Owl: Well, then I’ll give Eeyore a colored bookwith a lot of pictures. I think he’ll
like it.
Tiger: What should I do?I have to give something to him too. Hmmm… I’ll give a
box of colored pencils.
Winnie the Pooh: To my mind, Eeyore will be very glad getting such great
presents.
Scene 4
Storyteller: While all this was happening, Piglet went to his house to get Eeyore’s
balloon. He thought Eeyore would be very pleased getting such a great present. So,
Piglet was running along the path. He wanted to be the first to give a present. He
didn’t look where he was going… and suddenly he put his foot in a hole, and fell
down.
BANG!!!!!!!!!
Piglet: What was it? I’m here, in the Forest. I’m alive and… (looking around) … it
was the balloon! Oh, dear! What should I do?It’s too late to come back and I
haven’t got another balloon.
Storyteller: So, Piglet took a small piece
of damp rag and went, rather sadly now,
to the stream where Eeyore was
standing.
Piglet: Good morning, Eeyore. Many
happy returns of the day.
Eeyore: Good morning, Piglet. Are you
congratulating me? Can you repeat
please?
Piglet: Many happy returns of the day and I’ve brought you a present.
19
Eeyore: A present? Forme?
Piglet: Of course, it was a balloon.
Eeyore: Was?
Piglet: I’m very sorry. When I was running to you, I fell down. And… And… I
burst the balloon.
Eeyore: My balloon?
Piglet: Yes, your red balloon.
Eeyore: My red balloon… My favorite color… Well… Well…
Storyteller: Piglet felt very miserable and he didn’t know what to say. Suddenly,
both of them heard a noise from the other side of the river, there were Rabbit,
Tiger, Winnie, Owl and Christopher Robin.
All: Many happy returns of the day, dear Eeyore.
Rabbit:I’ve brought you a little present. It’s the biggest carrot from my garden.
Owl: And I’ve brought a colored bookwith a lot of pictures.
Tiger: Eeyore, look here! I’ve brought a box of colored pencils for you.
Christopher Robin:Dear Eeyore. I’ve made this cake by myself. Look, it’s rather
big and believe me, it’s very tasty.
Eeyore: Wow! I’m so surprised. Thanks a lot, my dear friends.
Christopher Robin:By the way, Winnie also wants to congratulate you.
Winnie the Pooh: Of course. I’ve brought you a little present. It’s a pot. You can
keep here everything you want.
Eeyore: Great! I believe my red balloon will just go into that pot.
Christopher Robin:Oh, no, Eeyore. Balloons are too big to go into the pots.
Eeyore: Not mine. Look, Piglet!
Storyteller: Eeyore took the balloon and placed it carefully in the pot; picked it out
and put it on the ground.
Piglet: So it does!It goes in! And it goes out!
Eeyore: It’s the best birthday I’ve ever had. Thank you, my dear friends.
Christopher Robin:All is well that ends well. Let’s eat the cake!
20
Storyteller: And all the friends tasted the
cake. Eeyore was so happy that he was
taking the balloon out and putting it back
again, as happy as could be. When he got
tired he thanked his devoted friends.
Everyone was happy. But it’s not the end

Piglet: No, it is not me. If it’s not me and you, who can it be? Try again.
Winnie the Pooh: Hello! Is there anybody at home?
Rabbit:Nobody.
Piglet: There must be somebodybecausesomebodyhas just said “Nobody”.
Winnie the Pooh: Hello, Rabbit, is that you?
Rabbit:No.
Piglet: But I think this voice is Rabbit’s one.
Rabbit:I don’tthink so.
Winnie the Pooh: So, Voice, can you tell me something? Where is Rabbit?
Rabbit:I don’tknow where he is. But recently he has told me that he would go to
see his friend PoohBear.
Winnie the Pooh: But I haven’t met him! I’m here with Piglet and we wanted to
visit our friend Rabbit ourselves.
Rabbit:Are you sure?
Piglet: Yes, of course.
Rabbit:If so, come in, please
Scene 2
24
Storyteller: Winnie the Poohand Piglet were very glad to hear that. Piglet came in
without any problems becausehe was thin and small. As the hole was too tight for
Winnie the Pooh, he pushed and pushed his way through the hole and at last he got
in too.
Rabbit:Hello, my dear friends. As the host of this house, I want to stand a treat.
Would you like some honey?
Piglet: Dear Rabbit, thanks but I have already had breakfast and …
Winnie the Pooh: Piglet! What are you saying? Dear Rabbit, of course we will
have breakfast at your home. Are you saying “Honey”?
Rabbit:Yes, I have honey or would you like condensed milk with bread?
Winnie the Pooh: Both. But don’tbother about the bread, please.
Storyteller: And as a hospitable host,
Rabbit treated his friends with honey
and condensed milk. After a while,
when Winnie the Poohate
everything, Rabbit was ready to say
“Goodbye”but his politeness was not
so rectilineal.
Piglet: OK, Winnie, have you
finished? Let’s go home.
Winnie the Pooh: Hmmm… You are right, my friend. It’s time to go home if…
Rabbit:If what? Maybe, you would like some tea with jam. Would you?
Piglet: No, thank you, Rabbit.
Winnie the Pooh: Shhhhh! Rabbit, what jam do you have?
Rabbit:I have a jar of raspberry jam.
Winnie the Pooh: Raspberry jam? Oh, it’s my favourite one. I’ll taste your jam,
dear Rabbit.
Storyteller: Soonafter that Winnie the Pooh tasted raspberry jam, strawberry jam
and many other tasty things.
Winnie the Pooh: Dear Rabbit, thank you very much but I remembered that I had
to do something. So, it’s time to go home.
25
Rabbit:Dear guests I was very happy to see you. (To himself) At last you are
going home. Bye!
Piglet: Well, goodbye, Rabbit. OK, Winnie, I’ll be the first. I’ll climb out the hole
and then you will.
Winnie the Pooh: OK, bye, Rabbit.
Scene 3
Storyteller: Piglet climbed out the hole without any trouble. When he was outside
he heard the terrible noise.
Winnie the Pooh: Oh, help, help, help!
Rabbit:Winnie, what’s happened?
Winnie the Pooh: I don’tknow. I pulled with my front paws and pushed with my
back paws out of the hole, and in a little while my nose was out in the open again
and then my ears and then… and then I … I can’t move my bodyany more.
Piglet: Dear, Winnie, it seems to me that you’ve stuck.
Rabbit:I think that Piglet is right. Winnie, wait for a while, I’ll go out by the back
doorand come round to you.
Winnie the Pooh: OK, I’ll wait for you here. By the way, I’m not in a hurry
anymore!
Rabbit:Yes, my friend Winnie, you have stuck.
Piglet: What will we do?
Rabbit:To my mind, we have to call Christopher Robin for help. Piglet, will you
go after him?
Piglet: OK, I’ll be right now.
Scene 4
Storyteller: After a while
Christopher Robin and
Piglet appeared. But they
were not alone. They met
Eeyore (the donkey) and
Owl on their way.
26
Eeyore: Hello, everyone! Hello, dear Winnie. It seems to me that you need our
help.
Owl: Yes, the donkey is right. When we heard about your trouble, Winnie, we
agreed to help you.
Christopher Robin:Dear Winnie, everyone knows that you are a sweet tooth. But
you must always remember that eating too many sweet things is not useful for your
health.
Winnie the Pooh: Oh, friends, I know this, but I can’t live without sweets, honey,
and jam. I can’t even imagine my life without them.
Eeyore: Rabbit, you are a host. Why did you treat Winnie and Piglet with these
sweetmeats? Why didn’t you stop them?
Rabbit:I don’tknow. I thought that everything would be OK and…
Owl: … and he didn’t guess that his hole would be so tight for our Winnie.
Winnie the Pooh: Oh, please, dear friends, help me. What should I do?
Christopher Robin:OK, Winnie, listen to me. Stretch out a paw and we’ll pull, ok?
Winnie the Pooh: OK…
Christopher Robin:So, friends, be ready. 1, 2, 3…
Winnie the Pooh: Oh, oh, oh, you are hurting!
Eeyore: Sorry but the result is that you have stuck.
Winnie the Pooh: Yeah, thank you, dear Eeyore, that you’ve admitted it again.
Owl: Friends, I have an idea! Maybe, we should push him back.
Piglet: Maybe, she is right. Let’s
try. Winnie, be ready. 1, 2, 3…
Winnie the Pooh: Oh, oh, oh, you
are hurting!
Eeyore: Sorry but the result is that
you have stuck.
Winnie the Pooh: Yeah, thank you,
Eeyore, that you have admitted it
again and again.
Rabbit:If we can’t pull him out, what should we do then?
27
Christopher Robin:I think that we have to wait for Winnie to get thin again.
Eeyore: But Winnie won’t get thin at once. Am I right?
Piglet: How long does getting thin take?
Christopher Robin:About a week, I think.
Winnie the Pooh: What?! A week?! I won’t be here a week! I can’t stay here!
Owl: Winnie, dear, you don’t have any choice. Can’t you see it?
Rabbit:And, besides, we’ll stay with you. And I hope it won’t snow or rain.
Winnie the Pooh: A week… What about meals?
Christopher Robin:I’m afraid no meals because of getting thin quicker.
Piglet: Winnie, don’tbe so upset. We’ll read something to you.
Winnie the Pooh: If there is no any other choice, I am ready…
Scene 5
Storyteller: Christopher Robin read his friends great stories about friendship,
different countries and people. At the same time Winnie the Poohfelt himself
getting slenderer and slenderer.
Christopher Robin:OK, friends, a week has already passed. Let’s try. You, Owl
and Eeyore, take his front paws. You, Piglet and Rabbit, push him back. Are you
ready? OK, 1, 2, 3…
Winnie the Pooh: OW! Pop!I am free! Thank you, my dear friends, for your help.
Eeyore: Dear Winnie, please, promise never to eat too much jam…
Owl: … and honey …
Rabbit:… and sweets …
Piglet: … and any other sweet things.
Winnie the Pooh: My friends, I love all of you, but you know that I can’t imagine
my life without them.
Christopher Robin:Yes, dear Winnie, we know this. But I am sure that this
situation has taught you something, hasn’t it?
Winnie the Pooh: Of course, it has… Oh, I’m so hungry. Maybe, it’s time for
having a snack?
28
Storyteller: And laughing, all
friends went through the
forest. All is well that ends
well. But it’s not the end of
our story about the funny
Bear who liked honey.

Storyteller: It was a nice spring morning. The sun was shining in the blue sky. The
birds were singing merrily, greeting spring. In a thistly corner of the forest, near
the pond, the grey donkey, Eeyore, was standing by himself. He was standing,
thinking about different things. But sometimes he didn’t quite know what he was
thinking about. He was seen in this condition by his friend, Winnie.
Winnie the Pooh: Good morning, Eeyore. What a lovely morning is, is not it? How
are you?
Eeyore: Morning, Winnie. You are right. This morning is really fine. But it seems
to me that something unusual happens to me.
Winnie the Pooh: Why do you think so?
Eeyore: I’m not sure, but I do not feel very well.
31
Winnie the Pooh: I’m sorry
about that. Let’s have a look at
you… Hm… What’s happened
to your tail?
Eeyore: What?! What has
happened to my tail?
Winnie the Pooh: It isn’t here.
Eeyore: Winnie, you are kidding.
Winnie the Pooh: No, I’m not. You can look around. Each of us has a tail. And
yours isn’t here!
Eeyore: Then what is?
Winnie the Pooh: Nothing.
Eeyore: If you say so, I believe you. That’s why I feel so unusual. But where could
I leave my tail? Don’t you know?
Winnie the Pooh: No, sorry, my friend. You must have left it somewhere.
Eeyore: And somebodymust have taken it.
Winnie the Pooh: Eeyore, do not be so sad. I’ll find your tail for you.
Eeyore: Thanks, Winnie, you are a true friend.
Scene 2
Storyteller: So, Winnie the Poohwent off to find Eeyore’s tail. He was walking
through the forest, singing some song. He was full of ideas here he could find
Eeyore’s tail when suddenly he saw Piglet and Rabbit who greeted him.
Piglet: Oh, hello, Winnie.
Rabbit:Hello, dear friend. Will you help us?
Winnie the Pooh: Hello, friends. Help what? What are you doing?
Rabbit:You know, spring has come. And every hostess wants to make his/house
better and nicer than it was in winter.
Piglet: Someone wants to clean the house.
Rabbit:Someone wants to clean the yard.
Piglet: Because as they say: “No pain, no gain”.
Winnie the Pooh: So…
32
Rabbit:So, I asked our friend Piglet to help me with households. Todayhe is
helping me. TomorrowI’ll help him. Do you want to join us?
Winnie the Pooh: Friends, I’d love to. But I’m so busy. I have got a task.
Piglet: What task?
Winnie the Pooh: You know, today I’ve met Eeyore. And he was very upset.
Rabbit:Why?
Winnie the Pooh: Piglet, Rabbit, do you have tails?
Piglet: Of course, we do.
Winnie the Pooh: But our friend Eeyore doesn’thave it.
Rabbit: How can’t an animal have a tail? To my mind, each animal must have a
tail!
Winnie the Pooh: I think so too. Maybe, Eeyore has lost it.
Piglet: Where could he leave it?
Winnie the Pooh: I don’tknow. So, I promised Eeyore to find his tail.
Rabbit:And what are you going to do? Where are you going?
Winnie the Pooh: I’m going to visit the wise Owl. She knows everything. Maybe,
she knows where Eeyore has left his tail. Would you like to join me?
Piglet: Of course, I’ll go with you.
Rabbit: So do I.
Winnie the Pooh: OK, let’s go.
Scene 3
Storyteller: And three friends went to visit the wise Owl. She lived at the
Chestnuts, and old world residence of great charm, which was grander than
anybody else’s, or seemed so to Bear, because it had both a knocker and a bell pull.
Piglet: Here we are at least.
Rabbit:But what should we do?
Winnie the Pooh: Look here, friends!
Rabbit:I think, Winnie, you should knock and pull the knocker.
Winnie the Pooh: OK. (Calling out in a very loud voice) Owl! I require an answer!
It’s Bear speaking!
Owl: Hello, Pooh.
33
Winnie the Pooh: Hello, Owl. Aren’t you busy?
Owl: I’m having lunch with Tiger at the moment. I’ve invited him. He is also here.
Tiger: Hello, friends. What are the things going on?
Rabbit:Terrible and sad.
Owl: Why?
Winnie the Pooh: Our friend Eeyore, has lost his tail.
Tiger: Eeyore has lost his tail! I can’t believe it! Are you sure, Winnie?
Winnie the Pooh: Of course, I’m. I’ve seen him today without his tail. And he is so
upset. So, could you very kindly tell me how to find it for him?
Owl: Well, the customary procedurein such cases is as follows?
Rabbit:What? Sorry, but I don’tunderstand you. Piglet, have you understood
anything?
Piglet: No, I haven’t. Winnie?
Winnie the Pooh: No. Dear Owl, please, explain, what does it mean?
Tiger: It means the thing to do. Am I right, Owl?
Owl: Of course, Tiger. And I think I know what to do.
Winnie the Pooh: What?
Owl: We should write a note that our friend Eeyore has lost his tail. And we’ll put
it up all over the Forest.
Tiger: Sorry for interrupting you, but I think we should give a reward who will
find a tail.
Piglet: Right you are, Tiger. I could give him/her some pots.
Rabbit:And I could give some carrots. I had a good harvest last year.
Winnie the Pooh: And I could give a lick of honey.
Tiger: OK, friends. I agree with you. But who will write a note? Owl, can you?
Owl: Sorry but I can’t do this. I can only read. Look around. Everything which is
written here was done by Christopher Robin. Maybe, we should ask him for help?
Winnie the Pooh: OK.
Scene 4
Storyteller: As soonas our friends wanted to go to Christopher Robin’s house to
ask him for such a great deal, they saw him nearby. He was singing a song.
34
Christopher Robin:
Spring is green.
Summer is bright.
Autumn is yellow.
Winter is white.
(Seeing the animals): Oh, hello,
friends. What are you doing here? Are
you playing a game?
Winnie the Pooh: Hello, Christopher Robin. We are having a serious talk.
Christopher Robin:What’s happened?
Owl: Our friend, Eeyore, has lost his tail.
Christopher Robin:It can’t be! But how could he do it?
Tiger: We don’tknow. But we really want to help him.
Rabbit:We really want to see his happy smile again.
Piglet: And we have got an idea!
Christopher Robin:What kind of idea is it?
Winnie the Pooh: We wanted you to write a note that…
Owl:… that Eeyore has lost his tail and…
Rabbit:… and if someone finds the tail, he/she will have a reward.
Christopher Robin:Wow! It’s a great idea! You are well done! Come on! Tiger,
Owl, go down and we’ll write a note. (Looking at Winnie)Winnie! Winnie! What
are you looking at so fixedly?
Winnie the Pooh: I’m looking at the bell rope.
Owl: It is very nice, is not it?
Piglet: Yes, it is. I like it.
Rabbit:I like it too.
Winnie the Pooh: It reminds me of something but I can’t think what. Owl, where
did you get it?
Owl: Tiger and I just came across it in the Forest.
Tiger: Yes, it was hanging over a bush.
Owl: And I thought at first that somebodylived there.
35
Tiger: So, we rang it and nothing happened.
Owl: And then we rang again very loudly and it came off in my hand and …
Tiger:… and as nobodyseemed to want it …
Owl:… I tookit home.
Christopher Robin:Dear Owl. Somebodydid want it.
Owl: Who?
Christopher Robin:Eeyore did. I’m sure that this bell ropeis his tail.
Tiger: It can’t be.
Christopher Robin:Tiger, believe me. I’m sure that Eeyore will be happy when he
gets back his tail.
Winnie the Pooh: Wow! We have found Eeyore’s tail. All is well that ends well.
Storyteller: So, with these words friends carried the tail back to Eeyore. Eeyore

Christopher Robin:I think so too. By the way, my friends, I have to tell you
something that you have never heard.
Winnie the Pooh: What this? What are you talking about?
Christopher Robin:I have seen a Heffalump today!
39
Piglet: Really? I saw a Heffalump once too.
Winnie the Pooh: What was it doing?
Piglet: Just jumping along. And have you seen a
Heffalump too, Winnie?
Winnie the Pooh (thinking for a while):Of course,
I have.

Piglet: To catch a Heffalump!? But how?
Winnie the Pooh: A trap will help me. And it must be a Cunning Trap. So, you will
have to help me! Will you help me?
Piglet: I will do it, I promise. But how will you make a trap?
Winnie the Pooh: We will dig.
40
Piglet: Dig what?
Winnie the Pooh: Dig a trap. When a Heffalump
is walking around, he won’t see a trap before him
and he’ll fall into it.
Piglet: Wow, it’s a great idea!
Scene 3
Storyteller: With these words friends chosethe
best place for a trap, as they thought and began to

Tiger: You can do nothing because you are digging something. What are you
digging?
Piglet: Nothing.

Winnie the Pooh: OK, we are digging a trap.
Tiger: A trap!? What for?
Piglet: We are going to catch a Heffalump.
Rabbit:A Heffalump!? I have never seen it. What is it like?
Winnie the Pooh: It is like… It’s like…
Piglet: It’s very big, so we are digging a big trap.
Tiger: But how will you catch it?
Winnie the Pooh: I suppose, a Heffalump will be walking around the Forest when
he falls into the trap.
Rabbit:I think, we should put something in the trap. And when a Heffalump sees
it, he will fall into the trap.
Eeyore: Wow! It’s a great idea! But what will we put on the bottom?
Winnie the Pooh: Honey.
Piglet: Honey?!
41
Winnie the Pooh: Yes, honey. It smells very tasty
and I’m sure a Heffalump will smell it too.
Rabbit:Oh, I’ve understood. When a Heffalump
smells the honey, he will want to taste it and fall
into the trap.

want to taste you. How strange! It’s not here. But where is it?
Storyteller: And then the bear remembered that he had left honey in the trap in
order to catch a Heffalump. He took the ladder and went to the trap.
Winnie the Pooh: Oh, hello, my little jar of honey. I’m so glad to see you. I’ll taste
a little.
Storyteller: And the bear tasted a little, and then again and again. There was a little
left at the very bottom of the jar, and he pushed his head right in, and began to lick.

Rabbit:I think, we should go to the trap.
Tiger: OK, let’s go.
Piglet: If we see a Heffalump, what will we do?
42
Tiger: I think, we should go up very quietly, peep very cautiously into the trap and
see if there is a Heffalump there. Do you agree?
Eeyore: Of course, let’s go.
Storyteller: So off they went. At first
they thought that there wouldn’t be a
Heffalump in the trap, and then they
thought that there would, and as they
got nearer they were sure that there
would.
Piglet: Stop, friends. Do you hear
that?
Rabbit:It seems to me that there is somebodyin the trap.
Tiger: I think so too because I can hear some noise. Do you hear it?
Eeyore: Yes, I do.
Rabbit:Let’s creep to the side of the trap and look in.
Storyteller: And all the time Winnie had been trying to get the honey jar off his
head. The more he shookit, the more tightly it stuck. So at last he lifted up his
head, jar and all, and made a loud roaring noise… and it was at that moment that
friends looked down.
Eeyore: Help!
Rabbit:Help!
Tiger: Help! A Heffalump!
Piglet: A horrible Heffalump!
Storyteller: And they didn’t stop crying and scampering until they got to
Christopher Robin’s house.

Piglet: Heff… a Heff…
Rabbit:A Heff… a Heff…
Tiger: A Heffalump!
Christopher Robin:Where?
Eeyore: Up there!
43
Christopher Robin:What did it look like?
Rabbit:It had the biggest head you ever saw.
Tiger: And it’s roaring in a very terrible noise.
Christopher Robin:Well, I’ll go and look at it. Come on.
Storyteller: When they came up to the trap and Christopher Robin looked into it,
he began to laugh.
Piglet: Why are you laughing, Christopher Robin? Aren’t you scared?
Christopher Robin:No, my dear friends, look!
Storyteller: And with these words Christopher Robin took the jar and pushed it and
out came Winnie’s head again.
Rabbit:It’s not a Heffalump!
Tiger: It’s Winnie!
Piglet: We were very scared thinking that you were a Heffalump!
Christopher Robin:No, my friends, he is not a Heffalump. He is the bear who likes
honey.
Winnie the Pooh: I’m sorry, friends. I didn’t want to scary you.
Christopher Robin:Don’t be, all is well that ends well!
Storyteller: And laughing, all friends went to Christopher Robin’s house to have

Winnie the Pooh
Christopher Robin
Piglet
Rabbit
Owl
Eeyore
Scene 1
Storyteller: The wood was covered with snow. Everything was white. It was cold
but the animals were not afraid of it. They were playing and chasing all days long.
They were waiting for the bestholiday – Christmas. And everybody was trying to
his/her best. Some animals were cleaning their houses, others were decorating their
homes. Our friend Piglet also wanted to do some housework.
47
Piglet: How’s great outside! The snowflakes are falling. Everything is so bright.
Christmas is coming. I need to do a lot in order to have a good holiday. (He is
singing a song):
We wish you a merry Christmas,
We wish you a merry Christmas,
We wish you a merry Christmas,
And a happy New Year!
Glad tidings we bring
To you and your kin;
Glad tidings for Christmas
And a happy New Year!
(Noticing Eeyore near him): Hello, Eeyore ! What are you doing here?
Eeyore: Hello, my friend! I am walking around and thinking.
Piglet: Thinking about what?
Eeyore: Christmas is coming. And I want to find a nice fir tree. Don’t you know
where I can find it?
Piglet: Dear Eeyore, look around. You are in the forest. It’s full of beautiful green
fir trees. You need only to choosethe bestone which you like.
Eeyore: Oh, thank you, Piglet. You know, I am so “attentive”. But look over there!
Who is walking near the big oak tree? It’s our friend Winnie, isn’t it?
Piglet: You are right. What is he doing?
Eeyore: I don’tknow. Let’s ask him.
Piglet: OK.
Scene 2
Storyteller: And two friends came
up to Winnie who was walking
round and round in a circle,
thinking of something else.
Piglet: Hello, Winnie. What a nice
morning is, isn’t it?
48
Winnie the Pooh: Hello, Piglet. I don’tknow. Maybe, it’s morning; maybe; it’s
afternoon…
Eeyore: Winnie, what’s happened? Really, what are you doing here? As for me,
I’m looking for a fir tree.
Winnie the Pooh: But I am not. I’m hunting here.
Piglet: Hunting? Really?
Eeyore: Hunting what?
Winnie the Pooh: If to be honest, I don’tknow yet. But something strange is here.
And if I catch it, I’ll tell you what I’m hunting.
Piglet: You are talking nonsense. You can’t hunt invisible things.
Winnie the Pooh: Invisible?! Look at the snow. What do you see there?
Piglet: Tracks.
Eeyore: Paw tracks.
Piglet: Do you think it’s a
Woozle?
Eeyore: A Woozle?! I’m
scared.
Winnie the Pooh: It may be.
Eeyore, don’tbe afraid.
Sometimes it is, and
sometimes it isn’t. You never
can tell with paw marks.
Eeyore: Let’s walk around and we’ll see what it is.
Piglet: OK, lets’ go. Winnie, you should go first and we’ll walk behind you
because you are big and if something happens…
Winnie the Pooh: I’ll be a tasty dinner, yeah?
Piglet: No, I didn’t mean that.
Winnie the Pooh: OK, Let’s go.
Scene 3
Storyteller: So, three friends went on. Winnie was in front of Piglet and Eeyore,
looking back from time to time if his friends were behind him.
49
Eeyore: Stop!Stop!
Piglet: What’s the matter?
Eeyore: It’s a very strange thing.
Winnie the Pooh: What thing?
Eeyore: Although I’m a donkey, but I can’t
understand anything.
Winnie the Pooh: What’s happened?
Eeyore: There seem to be three animals now.
A Woozle has got some friends.
Winnie the Pooh: Eeyore, you are right.
Piglet: What should we do now?
Winnie the Pooh: Let’s ask the Wise Owl. She lives on this tree. Maybe, she has
noticed something strange, OK?
Piglet: OK. O-W-L, O-W-L! Can you hear us?
Owl: Uh-uh! You have woken me up! I was sleeping. What do you want? Ask
quicker becauseI’m tired and I want to sleep.
Winnie the Pooh: Sorry, the Wise Owl, but we are worried.
Owl: Worried? I guess why you are worried. Christmas is coming and you want to
get some presents.
Eeyore: Dear Owl, no, we think that a Woozle is here!
Piglet: And, maybe, he is not alone.
Owl: A Woozle?! Is he on the tree? IF he is here, I should fly away.
Winnie the Pooh: No, look down!
Owl: The tracks! You are right! Woozles! I’m sorry, friends, but I have just
remembered that I had to do something. Bye! (Flies away)
Piglet: And what should we do now?
Winnie the Pooh: Don’t panic. Let’s continue to follow them.
Scene 4
Storyteller: So, they went on, feeling just a little anxious now. And then, all of a
sudden, Winnie stopped again.
Piglet: Winnie, why have you stopped?
50
Winnie the Pooh: Don’t you see? Look at their tracks!
Eeyore: Oh, I know these tracks. They are Rabbit’s ones!
Rabbit: Hello, friends!
Winnie the Pooh: Hello, Rabbit. What are you doing here? By the way, how long
have you been here?
Rabbit: I was having breakfast when suddenly I saw the Owl. She said that the
three friends of mine were walking around the oak tree. She also added that
Woozles were here.
Piglet: And you have come
to help us, haven’t you?
Rabbit: Of course! A friend
in need is a friend indeed!
Winnie the Pooh: Rabbit,
you are a true friend. But
look at the snow! I think
another Woozle has joined them!
Eeyore: And so it seems to be. There are the tracks, crossing over each other here,
getting muddled up with other here.
Rabbit: How’s strange! But can you hear this? It seems to me that somebodyis
whistling!
Scene 5
Storyteller: And friends looked up at the sky, and then, as they heard the whistle
again, they looked up into the branches of a big oak tree, and then they saw a
friend of theirs.
Piglet: Christopher Robin!
Rabbit: Ah, then we’ll be all right!
Eeyore: We’ll be quite safe with him.
Christopher Robin: My friends, what are you doing here? I’m looking for you
everywhere. My mum has baked a tasty cake and I want you to taste it!
Winnie the Pooh: Christopher Robin, we are looking for Woozles.
Eeyore: We are sure that they are here. But we haven’t caught them yet.
51
Piglet: Will you help us?
Christopher Robin: My dear friends. Winnie, first you went round the tree twice by
yourself and then Piglet and Eeyore ran after you and you went round again
together, and then Rabbit joined you.
Winnie the Pooh: Wait for a moment. You mean that all these paw marks are ours?
Piglet: And there aren’t any Woozles?
Eeyore: And there is no danger?
Rabbit: And we can go and have a cake?
Christopher Robin: Yes, my best friends in the whole world. These paw marks are
yours. There are no any Woozles. Of course, there is no danger. And, yes, we can
go and have a cake.
Storyteller: Hearing Christopher Robin’s words, the animals laughed and went
with their friend to his place. Of course, they were hungry and cold a bit. They
were walking and laughing at strange Woozles in the wood. All is well that ends
well. But it’s not the end of our story about the funny Bear who liked honey.

The trees in the forest were big and tall. All the animals living there had
  • 6. 6 the name over the doorin gold letters. So, let’s start our story about this sweet bear. Winnie the Pooh: Wow! What a wonderful day is! The sun is shining in the blue sky. The birds are singing merry songs. I think it’s a good time to have a walk. Storyteller: So, Winnie the Poohcame to an open place in the middle of the forest and saw his friend Piglet. Piglet: Hello, Winnie! What a nice morning it is, isn’t it? Winnie the Pooh: Oh, yes, it’s true. By the way, my dear friend, what are you doing here? You live far away from this place. Piglet: Do you see that large oak tree? Winnie the Pooh: Yes, so... Piglet: So, from the top of the tree a loud buzzing noise is coming and I can’t sleep well. Winnie the Pooh: You are right. This buzzing noise means something. Piglet: Of course, it does. If there is a buzzing noise, somebodyis making a buzzing noise. Don’t you know who it can be? Winnie the Pooh: Oh, yes! I know this sound! Bees are making this noise! Piglet: Bees?! Are you sure? Winnie the Pooh: Of course, and the only reason for being a bee that I know of is making honey. Piglet: Oh, I see. You are a sweet tooth, so you can smell the honey wherever you are. Winnie the Pooh: You are right and the only reason for making honey is so as I can eat it. Piglet: And how are you going to get it? Winnie the Pooh: It is very simple. I’m going to climb the tree. Piglet: To climb the tree?! It is rather dangerous and the tree is very high. Aren’t you scared?
  • 7. 7 Winnie the Pooh: Oh, stop talking these things. If I am hungry as a wolf, nothing can stop me. By the way, this oak tree is not as high as you think. Piglet: As you wish. Good luck, my friend. I have to go. It’s time for having lunch. Winnie the Pooh: Ok, bye! Piglet: Bye! Scene 2 Storyteller: So, Piglet went to have lunch and Winnie the Poohbegan climbing the tree. He climbed and climbed. He had a good mood and sang a little song to himself. Isn't it funny How a bear likes honey? Buzz! Buzz! Buzz! I wonder why he does? Oh, I like this song very much! Storyteller: At the same time bees were working in their beehive. Bee 1: OK, my sisters, well done. Look! It’s a great day today. The sun is shining, the trees are blossoming. We have to work harder and harder to make a lot of honey. Bee 2: You are right. No pain, no gain. Bee 3: If we gather a lot of honey, we won’t starve in winter. But dear sisters, do you hear that? Bee 4: Oh, it seems to me that somebodyis singing. Do you have a good mood, sister? Bee 5: It’s not me. I’m not singing. I don’thave any time for doing such silly things. You know we have to work and not to sing. Bee 6: By the way, she doesn’thave such a voice. Listen to it. Winnie the Pooh: It's a very funny thought that, if Bears were Bees, They'd build their nests at the bottom of trees. And that being so (if the Bees were Bears), We shouldn't have to climb up all these stairs.
  • 8. 8 Bee 7: Yes, it’s not you or anyone else from us. Who can it be? Bee 6: And the song is getting louder and louder. I think somebodyis climbing our tree. Bee 5: But why is he climbing? And what does he want to do? Bee 4: Let’s wait and see. Winnie the Pooh: OK, I’m almost there. I can’t wait to taste this delicious honey. One more step is left and… Storyteller: And when Winnie the Poohstood onthe branch he heard a loud sound “Crack!” The branch was dry and the poorbear flew gracefully into a gorse bush. Winnie the Pooh: Oh my God!I’m alive! Thank you! But I want to get that honey. Hmmm! I have got a great idea! Scene 3 Storyteller: So, Winnie the Poohwent round to his friend Christopher Robin who lived behind a green doorin another part of the forest. One is blue and the other one is green. But tell me, please, how will you get honey with the balloon? Winnie the Pooh: When you go after honey with a balloon, the great thing is not to let the bees know you are coming. Christopher Robin:So? Winnie the Pooh: So, if I have a green balloon, they might think I were only part of the tree. Christopher Robin:And the blue one? Winnie the Pooh: And if I have a blue balloon, they might think I were only part of the sky. I want to look like a small cloud.
  • 9. 9 Christopher Robin:Then, I think, you should take the blue balloon. Winnie the Pooh: Are you sure? Christopher Robin:I am. Storyteller: After that Christopher Robin and Winnie the Poohwent to the oak tree. Winnie the Pooh: Christopher Robin, stop for a while, do you see that muddy place? Christopher Robin:Yes, I do. So, what? Winnie the Pooh: I want to roll in it. Christopher Robin:But what for? Winnie the Pooh: I’ll roll until I’m black all over and then bees will think that I’m a black cloud. Christopher Robin:OK, it’s a good idea! Scene 4 Storyteller: And Winnie the Poohrolled himself in the muddy place. When the balloon was blown up, Winnie the Poohfloated gracefully up into the sky. Winnie the Pooh: Christopher Robin, I can see the honey, I can smell it but I can’t reach it. Christopher Robin:Why can’t you do it? What’s happened? Winnie the Pooh: There is no wind here. That’s why I can’t get honey and I think the bees suspectsomething. Bee 3: Dear sisters! Look! What a strange thing is outdoors! Bee 2: What’s this? Is it a huge black… What’s this? I can’t even tell you what it looks like. Bee 1: It looks like a black cloud but the clouds usually don’tfly so low… and it seems to me that this cloud is alive.
  • 10. 10 Bee 7: Maybe, this something wants to get our honey. Bee 6: Let’s wait for this cloud’s actions. Winnie the Pooh: Christopher Robin, do you have an umbrella in your house? Christopher Robin:Yes, so what? Winnie the Pooh: I wish you would bring it out here, and walk up and down with it, and look up at me every now and say “It looks like rain”. To my mind, there is something wrong with this cloud. So, I think I will come down. Christopher Robin:But how will you do this? Winnie the Pooh: You must shootthe balloon with your gun. Christopher Robin:But if I do that, it will spoil the balloon. Winnie the Pooh: Do as I’m saying, shoot! Storyteller: And Christopher Robin shot. There was a terrible noise and the Bear screamed.
  • 11. 11 Winnie the Pooh: OW! Christopher Robin:Did I miss? Winnie the Pooh: No, you didn’t miss but you missed the balloon and now my bodyhurts. Christopher Robin:I’m sorry, my friend. I’ll try again. Storyteller: So, Christopher Robin shot again and this time he hit the balloon and the air came slowly out and Winnie the Poohfloated down the ground. Bee 1: Oh, look! I’ve told you that it was not the cloud. Bee 2: You were right. And now let’s work. Bee 3: OK, let’s work. Storyteller: And after that Christopher Robin and Winnie the Poohwent home. Winnie the Pooh: The jar is empty! What will I do?I must give Eeyore something. Well, it’s a very nice pot. It can be used by Eeyore. He can keep different things in it which can be very useful. But I have to write something on it. Something like that “A Happy Birthday”. But who can write it?
  • 17. 17 Storyteller: And he remembered that the only animal in the Forestwho could write was the Wise Owl. So, he decided to go to the Hundred Acre Wood where she lived. Winnie the Pooh: I’m not joking, friends. Eeyore is celebrating his birthday today. And I want to give him this nice pot. Tiger: Hmmm… Somebodyhas been keeping honey in it. Winnie the Pooh: You can keep everything in it. Dear Owl, I want you to write “A Happy Birthday” on it. Owl: Really? Winnie the Pooh: Of course, because my writing is awful. Piglet: What was it? I’m here, in the Forest. I’m alive and… (looking around) … it was the balloon! Oh, dear! What should I do?It’s too late to come back and I haven’t got another balloon. Storyteller: So, Piglet took a small piece of damp rag and went, rather sadly now, to the stream where Eeyore was standing. Piglet: Good morning, Eeyore. Many happy returns of the day. Eeyore: My balloon? Piglet: Yes, your red balloon. Eeyore: My red balloon… My favorite color… Well… Well… Storyteller: Piglet felt very miserable and he didn’t know what to say. Suddenly, both of them heard a noise from the other side of the river, there were Rabbit, Tiger, Winnie, Owl and Christopher Robin. All: Many happy returns of the day, dear Eeyore. Rabbit:I’ve brought you a little present. It’s the biggest carrot from my garden. Owl: And I’ve brought a colored bookwith a lot of pictures. Tiger: Eeyore, look here! Piglet: Do you think it’s a Woozle? Eeyore: A Woozle?! I’m scared. Winnie the Pooh: It may be. Eeyore, don’tbe afraid. Sometimes it is, and sometimes it isn’t. You never can tell with paw marks. Eeyore: Let’s walk around and we’ll see what it is. Piglet: OK, lets’ go. Winnie, you should go first and we’ll walk behind you because you are big and if something happens… Winnie the Pooh: I’ll be a tasty dinner, yeah? Piglet: No, I didn’t mean that. Winnie the Pooh: OK, Let’s go. Scene 3 Storyteller: So, three friends went on. Winnie was in front of Piglet and Eeyore, looking back from time to time if his friends were behind him.

Maybe, she has noticed something strange, OK? Piglet: OK. O-W-L, O-W-L! Can you hear us? Owl: Uh-uh! You have woken me up! I was sleeping. What do you want? Ask quicker becauseI’m tired and I want to sleep. Winnie the Pooh: Sorry, the Wise Owl, but we are worried. Owl: Worried? I guess why you are worried. Christmas is coming and you want to get some presents. Woozles! I’m sorry, friends, but I have just remembered that I had to do something. Bye! (Flies away) Piglet: And what should we do now? Winnie the Pooh: Don’t panic. Let’s continue to follow them. Scene 4 Storyteller: So, they went on, feeling just a little anxious now. What are you doing here? By the way, how long have you been here? Rabbit: I was having breakfast when suddenly I saw the Owl. She said that the three friends of mine were walking around the oak tree. She also added that Woozles were here. Piglet: And you have come to help us, haven’t you? Rabbit: Of course! A friend in need is a friend indeed! Winnie the Pooh: Rabbit, you are a true friend. But look at the snow! I think another Woozle has joined them! Eeyore: And so it seems to be. There are the tracks, crossing over each other here, getting muddled up with other here. Rabbit: How’s strange! But can you hear this? It seems to me that somebodyis whistling! Scene 5 Storyteller: And friends looked up at the sky, and then, as they heard the whistle again, they looked up into the branches of a big oak tree, and then they saw a friend of theirs. Piglet: Christopher Robin! Rabbit: Ah, then we’ll be all right! Eeyore: We’ll be quite safe with him. Christopher Robin: My friends, what are you doing here? I’m looking for you everywhere. My mum has baked a tasty cake and I want you to taste it! Winnie the Pooh: Christopher Robin, we are looking for Woozles. Eeyore: We are sure that they are here. But we haven’t caught them yet.
  • 51. 51 Piglet: Will you help us? Christopher Robin: My dear friends. Winnie, first you went round the tree twice by yourself and then Piglet and Eeyore ran after you and you went round again together, and then Rabbit joined you. These paw marks are yours. There are no any Woozles. Of course, there is no danger. And, yes, we can go and have a cake. Storyteller: Hearing Christopher Robin’s words, the animals laughed and went with their friend to his place. Of course, they were hungry and cold a bit.
