Selection of Curriculum:-
The teacher is faced with a verity of Influence which tends to make this element one of the most dominant in
curriculum design.
What is curriculum element?
In developing a curriculum at any level, the approach may be from any of the curriculum element (Objectives,
contents, teaching strategies and evaluation)
Role of Content:-
Three content in role of curriculum development:
1. Approaches to content and their influence on the elements of curriculum development
2. Method of content organization.
3. Principles of curriculum design and their relationship to content selection and organization.
Methods of Content Organization:-
There are many methods of organizations within a curriculum unit.
Basic Question:-
1. What (either substantive or syntactical) Would we like to include?
2. What depth of coverage would you like, to achieve with each item of content?
3. It is possible to achieve the desired breadth and depth within the time allocated to the unit?
4. What, if any, content will be sacrificed and what will maintained?
Sequence in content Organization:-
Basic Question:
5. As there logical sequence within the Actual content which must be presented?
6. As there an Instructional sequence which should be followed throughout the unit?
7. What sequence will the content for the unit follow?
8. Does the sequence allow us the development of Understanding?
9. Does the sequence cater the both logical and instructional requirement?

1. Balance:-
This Principle refers to the consideration to the weighing given competing demands made on all aspects of the
curriculum.
2. Rational:-
This Principle refers to the Logical relationship which exist within a curriculum.
3. Flexible:-
This Principle refers to the need for a program to be resilient in its application.
