This document discusses different approaches and models for curriculum development. It describes curriculum as content, process, or product. Three common models are presented: Ralph Tyler's model focuses on planning with four basic principles; Hilda Taba's grassroots model emphasizes teacher participation with six steps; and Galen Saylor and William Alexander's linear model considers diagnosis, objectives, content selection, organization, experiences, and evaluation. Curriculum development is presented as a dynamic, purposeful, and planned process involving planning, design, implementation, and evaluation.
