2. SOUND.
The dialogue within the film trailer ‘then are poison
berries boys’ the humorous tone to this dialogue will
make the children want to watch the film as they
are automatically drawn to naughty, cheeky
animals.
The non diegetic sound of the soundtrack ‘staying
alive’ is ironic as Paulie is literally trying to stay
alive.
3. CAMERA:
Low angle shots of the bird walking connotes how the bird
is struggling with life outside of his home. It also shows
the dangers that are occurring around him this will also
draw the attention of the audience as they will want to
find out what happened to him and why he is all alone.
The close up image of the parrot to show that he is the
main character in the film.
Two shot of the Chinese tourists change to a fade to white
as their camera takes a photo. I have noticed that this
happens in quite a lot of family film trailers.
4. MISE EN SCENE.
The prop of the taco shop board is to show how
Paulie is the superior more intelligent parrot of the
four. The parrots sitting on the stand just repeat
what the owner says where as Paulie has a
conversation with the shop owner. This would draw
the attention of younger children as they would
think that a talking parrot is amazing.
5. EDITING.
Cross fades are used frequently throughout this film
trailer film trailer, the cross fades show how
dramatic the parrots life has changed without giving
too much away from the film. This would appeal to
the audience as they would only want to see a little
of the film so they could be left in suspense.
Short takes are frequently used so that the continuity
editing flows, so that the film trailer evolves over a
period of time.
