2. Beethoven film
poster.
I love this film poster as it conveys
how mischievous the dog is in the
film. By enlarging the dog in the
poster conveys that he is the main
character in the film. The language
in the poster ‘the head of the table is
the one with the tail’ is humorous as
they are making the dog seem
superior to the rest of the family.
However, I don’t like the way that
the family are small at the top of the
page as they are distant and don’t
really need to be there. The text on
the poster is bold and easy to read
which is what would draw the
attention of the readers as they
would want to know the name of the
film that has the superior dog in.
3. Hatchi film poster.
I love this film poster as it
conveys the relationship
between the dog and the
male character in the film.
The language on the poster
is quite sophisticated,
children looking at the poster
wouldn’t really understand
the text as it would be to
intelligent for them. I do
however, like the colour
scheme of the poster as it
makes the poster look quite
natural with the cool tones of
green and amber. This
poster has inspired me to
make a natural looking
4. Marley and me poster.
This poster is quite plain, yet
effective. The plain white
background draws attention
more to the dog as you can’t
see anything else on the
poster. By featuring the dog
alone on the poster is very
effective as people will be
drawn to how cute he is and
will want to watch the film due
to that alone. The language
that they have used on the
poster is clever as they have
replaced ‘feel’ with ‘heel’
which makes us think of how
naughty the dog is and how
he obviously pulls his owners
when walking. Which
connotes a humorous image
in our head.
5. The shaggy dog
poster.
This film poster is more
complicated than the others
as they have put Tim Allen's
eyes on the film poster to
make the dog have human
features, as Tim Allen
becomes the dog in the film.
Most Dog film posters have
language that connotes a dog
in this poster ‘Raise the Woof’
has been used to connote the
dog barking. I like the colour
scheme that the poster has
used as red and black are
common colours in Disney
posters. This film poster has
inspired me to create a film
6. Due date film poster.
This poster is very simple,
the wide shot image of the
road is very effective as the
male characters in the film
are on a constant journey
to get somewhere. Even
though the picture of the
dog is quite small our
attention is immediately
drawn to him as he is the
only thing that isn't in a
blue toned colour. This
poster has inspired me to
use a background that
connotes the journey that
the dog has been on.
