2. Nosferatu, eine Szmphonie
des Grauens
This is one of the first horror films ever made. It was
shot in 1921 and in black and white. To that time there
wasn’t even sound in the cinema. It is a German
expressionistic film that is based on Bram Stoker’s
Dracula. Nosferatu was played by a German actor
called Max Schreck. The funny thing about that is that
“Schreck” means shock or fear in German.
Until now the film has got quite a huge popularity and
was on the 100 Best films of world cinema ranked as
the twenty-first.

3. Frankenstein;
Is a story about a professor who tries playing god. He made a dead
body come to life again, but the creature he created is deeply evil
and bad. The film is based on the book Frankenstein written by
Mary Shelley. Frankenstein was played by Boris Karloff who was
famous for his make up techniques for horror movies. He took part
in some scary films and always played the monster. With
Frankenstein a new type of horror was created. The audience
sympathises with the monster more then with the public. You are
more scared of Dr. Frankenstein then with his creature.
