2. Purpose
The purpose of my poster is to show the
audience the main characters and the
ethos of travelling, nature whilst also
highlighting the surreal nature of the film.
It also encourages the reader to watch
my film as it has a review rating which links
because it is actually the rating from my
film review.
3. Colour
The colours used match the
nature theme with lots of
greens and browns which are
also colours which the
characters wear at the end of
the film.
4. Key Image
At the centre of the post is the box. The
picture of the box is taken from one of the
opening shots of the film. This image is the
most important factor of the film. It defines my
character and makes it clear that he is
different. It also brings the to characters at
the end together. It also adds to the surreal
nature as it is such an abstract concept
which is used but does not need explaining to
the audience, it is left to there imagination.
5. Background
The background itself is white, an influence I
have taken from ‘The Tree Of Life’ poster but I
have not left gaps between the pictures
instead taking influence from ‘The Life Of Pi’
poster. The actual pictures are faded
gradually from the fifth row of picture
downwards to make the information clearer
whilst the top ones are left brighter and more
vibrant as the poster should be.
6. Realism
Albeit a surreal film poster
many of the images directly
shown are from the
film, locations of the film or
animals which were implied
7. Text Colour
By using colours like brown and
green the text fits with the chosen
colours that I have included in
my film. By using the white and
black fonts I have made the
credits much clearer for the
audience.
8. Text Font
I wanted to use the font I used
for the title for all the text but I
realised early one that this was
not very clear so instead I used
plainer texts to make the
information stand out more.
9. Layout
By having the box in the centre I
wanted to draw the audiences
eyes to the box with the tagline of
to the side as an afterthought. As
represented in my style models
credits are presented at the bottom
in smaller more difficult to read font
10. Tagline
This tag line that is used on the film poster
is used in the song and links because my
character is searching for someone similar
in the film. Often when the line is sung in
the film my character is seen to be
running. In my audience feedback this
was described as a strong part of the film
so I decided to link the two by using it as
the tagline.
