New Delhi: Suit-boot ki

consistently headlined his
attacks on the government,
saying "suit boot is definite-
ly more acceptable than

In an interview to news
agency hit out at the
Congress, saying, "After
ruling for 60 years, the
Congress has suddenly
remembered the poor.

suffered and remained
poor due to the shortsight-

'BJP Wants to Run India
Like an RSS Shakha':
Rahul Gandhi's Latest
Attack
Mr Gandhi, since his return
in April from a two-month
sabbatical, has aggressive-
ly attacked the govern-
ment, discrediting its ambi-
tious land reform as "anti-
poor" and "anti-farmer" and
one favouring big industri-
alists that have seemingly
inspired his 'suit-boot ki
sarkar' jibes.
Earlier this week, as the
BJP celebrated it's govern-
ment's one year in office at
the Centre, the Congress
No. 2 wished "the suit boot
ki sarkar a happy birthday".
At a public rally in Kerala ,
he also dredged up the
five-month-old controversy
over the name-striped suit
that PM Modi wore during
the visit of US president
Barack Obama to India.
BJP ministers have, in
retaliation, asked if the
"suit-boot" Mr Gandhi
repeatedly references is an
allusion to his brother-in-
law, Robert Vadra, who
allegedly got sweetheart
land deals in Haryana for
his real estate firm while
the Congress was in power
in the state.

IIT – Madras took action against a
students’ study group known as
Ambedkar-Periyar Study Circle
(APSC), over a secret grievance to
the Central government that it was
allegedly trying to “spread hatred”
towards Prime Minister Narendra
Modi by distributing inflammatory
pamphlets and posters in the cam-
pus. However, there was nothing
published against PM Modi. The
pamphlet says, “In PHD and M.S
only 5.7% research scholars are
Dalits, whereas 64% are upper
caste. It also says faculty selection
is even worst 2% for Dalits, IIT
belongs to people but not
Brahminical tyranny. IIT administra-
tion doesn’t deny justice.” Albeit, it
was a fact which they brought in
front, there was no religious hatred
or derogatory message in these
pamphlets. The group belongs to
Dalit students and they are voicing
their concern seeking justice. After
this news hit the headlines, the
group is temporarily derecognized
but not banned. This group was
accused of spreading hatred
among research scholars on reser-
vation etc.In such circumstances, I
feel ashamed that what Indian
media is really reporting. I failed to
understand, why they are creating
mountains out of a molehill? The
sole reason, IIT de-recognized this
group, because they are using IIT’s
name for their personal group’s
interests and that’s not allowed! It is
expected that student bodies
adhere to the laid-down guidelines
that were agreed by all of them. The
decision came after the Ministry of
Human Resource Development
(MHRD) made an inquiry regarding
the anonymous complaint it had
received on the activities of the
Ambedkar Periyar Student Circle
(APSC) on the IIT campus. As
usual, Modi and Smriti Irani have
nothing to do with it. Other political
parties are jumping in the issue
without verifying the facts. Now, the
members of APSC are protesting
against the HRD ministry’s action
and the IIT’s decision to ban their
activities since the decision was
based only on an anonymous com-
plaint which could have been made
by the right-wing groups and that
they were denied a hearing.
IIT-Madras is a place of higher
learning and not politics. Ambedkar-
Periyar Study Circle is formed for
propagating Ambedkar and Periyar
thoughts, in helping depressed
castes and sub caste Hindus to
realise the evil of caste-based dis-
crimination taking place in modern
India and expose the ideology func-
tioning behind such discrimination.
This is what, the group is for.
They are against Brahmins
because IIT is run by upper caste
people and Dalits have very limited
space here. The tug of war between
Dalits and Brahmins is very com-
mon, even as Brahmin I have objec-
tion over reservations given to Dalit.
There are ongoing student’s issues.
Meanwhile, the action against the
group has generated a fierce
debate on social media and was
among the top trends of the day on
Twitter.
However, here hilarious thing is
that, in normal cases ‘anonymous’
complaint are never entertained by
these government authorities. Even
if, somebody gives cognizance to
ascertain truth in the allegations,
then authority gather facts by fact
finding commission, then put on
probe and if some charges leveled
then banning take place. When no
substance was found in the said
complaint, there was no point in
banning the activities of said forum -
APSC. One expects – the manage-
ment will review its decision and
withdraw its ban which they has
imposed, if not, it would be against
the democratic system of manage-
ment which works in accordance
with Constitutional provisions giving
rights to each of us to express, to
raise voice for legitimate demands.
Media and political interference
should be avoided in such issue
and serious action should be taken
against those media groups who
are spreading wrong reports on this
incidence.

New Delhi: The Confederation
of All India Traders (CAIT) has
appreciated the step of
issuance of notice by Haridwar
Food & Drug Administration to
Film Actress Madhuri Dikshit for
claims made in the advertise-
ment of " Maggi" which she has
endorsed. The Department is
right in issuing notice to Madhuri
Dikshit since she is an inciden-
tal part of the sales campaign of
Maggi. This action of the
Department will qualify the role
of Brand Ambassador.
The endorsement of any prod-
uct by any person is generally
done through a contract and
against considerations.
The person doing endorsement
is aware of the fact that the
endorsement is being done to
boost the sales may be virtue of
his/her following and according-
ly the considerations are fixed.
Therefore liability also devolves
upon Brand Ambassador and
questioning them by
Department is a right step in
right direction-said CAIT

New Delhi: Oxigen Mobile
Wallet announced the winners of
its PEER-TO-PEER money
transfer program, Give Selfishly.
Oxigen Mobile Wallet is a pre-
paid digital wallet that enables
customers to store their money
virtually, Giving money away
never achieved such coveted
rewards and selfish ends - the
essence of the campaign being
named Give selfishly, which
meant that even when you give,
you have a selfish motive to gain
or to win something in exchange.
Oxigen used the insight of the
youth behavior of wanting to
maximize his everything he does
in life, and decided to make peer
to peer money transfer reward-
ing for them as well. Thus was
born "GIVE SELFISHLY" - a
counter-intuitive yet very youthful
campaign which says Giving or
giving back money can become
rewarding or have a motive.
The campaign was based on its
feature of peer to peer money
transfer through the mobile num-
ber or phone contacts. As per the
program, each time an Oxigen
Wallet customer sends money
(as low as Rs.1/-) to his friend's
mobile number, the recipient just
needs to download & sign up
with Oxigen Wallet app & the
sender will get a cash back of
Rs.10 in his wallet with maxi-
mum cash back worth Rs.100.

Innovative Gene Test in India to Evaluate Cancer
Binod Kumar Singh
New Delhi: Adding a powerful new tool to the existing
modality of breast cancer management, Genetics and
Genomics Company ILife Discoveries has introduced a rev-
olutionary new gene test in India that will help oncologists
get a deeper insight into tumors and assist them in decid-
ing if chemotherapy can be avoided in some cancer
patients. Not all cancers have the same physiology, nor do
all tumors follow the same path of development.
This is why chemotherapy, the difficult yet indispensible
tool in cancer treatment is not needed in all patients.
However, given the lack of our ability to predict course of
disease and its risk of recurrence, doctors currently practice
a blanket approach in treating all patients.

New Delhi: The National Green
Tribunal while admitting a petition
of Confederation of All India
Traders (CAIT) on imposing ban
on loading & unloading of goods
in day time, has fixed next date of
hearing on 8th June,2015 and
issued notice to Union of India.
Noted lawyer Shilpi Jain
appeared in the Tribunal on
behalf of CAIT.
The NGT in its order made on
16th March,2015 directed that in
all the markets particularly Lajpat
Nagar, Karol Bagh, South
Extension, Chandani Chowk and
other densely polluted markets
the loading and unloading would
not be allowed. In its petition the
CAIT argued that loading-unload-
ing is incidental to any business
and can be done only during
working hours. If day time loading
and unloading is banned then at
what time, the traders will do
loading-unloading of material.
Delivery of material to
Government Departments and
other Private Institutions can be
done in working hours only. Even
the local deliveries can not be
made in night time. Opening
shops in night time for loading &
unloading of goods will pose
much security threat.
CAIT move NGT on ban on loading unloading
of material in Delhi next date of hearing is fixed

A two-year-old boy died sev-
eral days after he picked up
a loaded handgun lying out
in a Virginia home and acci-
dentally shot himself in the
head, US media reported.
The boy and his parents
were visiting a residence in
an isolated area in southern
Virginia on Monday when he
found the firearm on a
dresser, local NBC affiliate WWBT reported.
The toddler was alone in a bedroom, picked up the
firearm and pulled the trigger, shooting himself in the
head, WWBT said.
The two-year-old was rushed to a hospital in the state
capital of Richmond, where he died of his injuries.
An investigation into the incident is under way, local
media reported.Gun-control advocacy group Moms
Demand Action For Gun Sense in America said that on
average, around 100 children under the age of 17 die
each year in the United States in firearm accidents.

A federal judge ordered the State Department to
release batches of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s email cor-
respondence from her time as the nation’s top diplo-
mat every 30 days starting on June 30.
US District Judge Rudolph Contreras also laid out
completion targets for the agency to meet, as it begins
unveiling the 55,000 pages of emails sent from the
personal email address that Clinton used while serving
as secretary of state. If followed, all the correspon-
dence that Clinton, the leading candidate for the
Democratic presidential nomination, returned to her
former agency will be public by Jan 29, 2016 – three
days before the Iowa caucuses.
The decision came as part of a Freedom of Information
Act lawsuit filed by Jason Leopold, a reporter for Vice
News. Last week, Clinton urged the agency to release
her documents as quickly as possible.
Contreras’ order sets a more aggressive schedule than
the one initially proposed by the agency, which wrote
in a court filing that it would begin posting the emails
on the department’s website on June 30 and continue
posting them every 60 days, with the goal of making all
of them publicly available by Jan 15, 2016.
The State Department is still reviewing tens of thou-
sands of pages of emails from Clinton’s private
account. Last Friday, it released nearly 300 emails
relating to the 2012 attack on the US diplomatic post in
Benghazi, Libya.

Myanmar's navy seizes boat with 727 migrants, government says
Myanmar's ministry of infor-
mation described them as
"Bengalis", using the term the
government uses to describe
the country's persecuted
Muslim Rohingya minority as
well as immigrants from
Bangladesh. Myanmar navy
sailor with rifle stands above
migrants "Altogether 727 peo-
ple — 608 Bengali men, 74
women and 45 children — in
a fishing boat have been
arrested as a Myanmar navy
ship found them this morning
in the delta," a statement
posted on Facebook said.
Myanmar insisted it was not
to blame for South-East
Asia's latest influx of "boat
people" at a regional crisis
meeting in Thailand, as the
United States said thousands
of vulnerable migrants
remained adrift at sea and
needed urgent rescue.
More than 3,000 migrants
have landed in Indonesia and
Malaysia since Thailand
launched a crackdown on
human trafficking gangs this
month.
About 2,600 are believed to
be still adrift."Myanmar navy
is now transporting the boat
to its base on Haingye
Island," said Tun Kyaw Kyaw,
the deputy director general of
the Ayeyarwady Division gov-
ernment, responsible for the
area region where navy base
is located.
The island is also on
Myanmar's southern coast,
close to the place where the
boat was seized.
"After sending the people to
the island, we will investigate
them," said Tun Kyaw Kyaw,
adding that the examination
was necessary to determine
their identity.
ISISAt least five young
women from Australia have
successfully joined the
Islamic State and are
among over a dozen similar
cases from Melbourne most
of whom have a “romanti-
cised” view of the dreaded
militants and want to
become ‘jihadi brides’,
police said. The women are
said to be between 18 to 20
years of age, and had lied to
their families about their
intentions before leaving
Australia. Victoria Police
Assistance Commissioner
Tracy Linford said that while
it was difficult to quantify the
exact numbers involved, the
state police knew of at least
12 such women who had
tried to flee and at least five
who had succeeded in join-
ing the terror group.
The others were either
turned back or are unac-
counted for and also
became ‘jihadi brides’ in
some cases, police said.
Linford said the numbers
are perhaps greater than
that and was concerned
some of the women had
been pushed into sexual
servitude in Syria and Iraq,
according to an ABC report.
“We want people to under-
stand that it’s not just a phe-
nomenon of young men
wanting to travel over to the
conflict zone and join ISIS,
there are women that are
being lured there as well,”
she said.

A Russian flight from
Beijing to Moscow created
a scare among people liv-
ing in downtown residential
areas of China’s capital
when it flew very low after
taking a wrong turn.
The accident may have
been caused by the mis-
operation of the captain;
officials were quoted as
saying by The Beijing

The Russian Transaero
Airlines flight took a wrong
turn west after flying a
short distance south, and
then flew directly over
downtown Beijing.
Ground control spotted the
flight was heading in the
wrong direction just in time
and immediately informed
the captain who corrected
its direction. Some local
residents within the third
ring road in Beijing said
they were frightened as the

A primary school teacher in China’s Gansu province has
been executed for the rape and sexual abuse of 26
minor girls. Li Jishun, a former primary school teacher,
was put to death on Thursday by the Intermediate
People’s Court of Tianshui City after the Supreme
People’s Court (SPC) on Beijing approved the death
penalty.
Li was found by the court to have raped or sexually
abused 26 girls aged from 4 to 11 when he was a
teacher from 2011 to 2012.
He took advantage of those who were both childish and
timid and committed the acts in dormitories or class-
rooms, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
Considering the harm Li caused to the girls concerned
and the extremely negative social impact, Li was given
the heaviest punishment, said a judge from the SPC.
The SPC also published the details of four other cases
involving sexual abuse of minors. In one case, a man
raped five girls in a school dormitory.
He was given a death sentence but with a two-year
reprieve. The SPC said child sexual abuse cases are on
the rise in recent years, with 7,145 such cases being
handled by courts across the country from 2012 to 2014.

The second most wanted man on the Simon Wiesenthal
Center’s list of Nazi war criminals – charged earlier in
May by Russia with genocide – has died at age 93, his
lawyer said. Vladimir Katriuk passed away last week
after a long illness, Orest Rudzik said.
News of Katriuk’s death emerged several hours after the
Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs said Ottawa should
take the necessary steps to ensure that he be held
accountable if he were found guilty of war crimes com-
mitted in collaboration with the Nazis.
Russia charged Katriuk earlier in May with genocide in
connection with the 1943 killing of civilians in Khatyn,
now part of Belarus. According to war reports, Katriuk
was a member of a Ukrainian battalion of the SS, the
elite Nazi storm troops, between 1942 and 1944. He had
denied the accusations against him. The Russian
Embassy in Ottawa called on the Harper government a
few weeks ago to support a criminal case against
Katriuk. The Investigative Committee of the Russian
Federation, a law-enforcement body that reports only to
Putin, called on Canada to deliver Katriuk to Moscow so
he can be tried for alleged war crimes.

Kohima: To preserve and promote the tradition and culture of
the indigenous tribes of the state, Nagaland will be replacing
alternative English with 'heritage study' from Classes 5-8 from
the next academic session.
The state level education committee has approved of the
change and would implement it from the 2016-17 academic
session, Nagaland state council of educational research &
training (SCERT) director, Vipralhou Kesiezie said during the
celebration of international arts education week.
"This change has been necessitated because of the fact that
alternative English studied in schools in lieu of mother tongue
although alternative English is never a substitute of one's
mother tongue," he said.
Introduction of "heritage study" will protect, preserve and pro-
mote the rich cultural values of the Nagas, he said.
In heritage study, students will be given the opportunity to learn
about their own culture and heritage relating to history, folk
tales, legends, poems, dances, music, games and sports, trib-
al way of life, dresses/attires, food, cultivations and all related
heritage. Almost 90 per cent of the Naga students are taking
alternative English in lieu of mother tongue thereby depriving
themselves of learning anything about the cultural values of
the Nagas, including their own language, he said. "We hope
and believe that by introducing this new subject heritage study,
we will be able to inculcate the traditional and cultural values
of the Nagas," he said.

“FACE RASHTRIYA GAURAV AWARD”
Mumbai: Actor Anil Kapoor
revealed it was Amitabh
Bachchan who suggested him
of not taking a break from act-
ing as the Bollywood megastar
made a mistake by doing so.
Kapoor, who has been in the
industry for almost 38 years
now, said there was a time
when he was pondering to
take sabbatical but spoke to
Bachchan who advised him
not to go for it.
“I can’t remember
any best or worst
phase of my career.
For me it is always
about reinvention
and experiment-
ing. I am consis-
tent, steady and
feel fortunate to
be a part of good
films. I remem-
ber we were
shooting for
“ A r m a a n ” …
There was a time when I want-
ed to take sabbatical and I did
speak to Amitabh ji about it,”
Kapoor told PTI.
“ H e

the mis-
take of
not work-

years and told me not to take a
break. I have not taken ever. I
respect him, I look upto him,”
he said.
In 1984, Bachchan took a
break from acting and briefly
entered politics and resigned
after three years. In 1988, he
returned to films, achieved
success for a while but later
saw a dull phase till popular
game show “Kaun Banega
Crorepati” happened in 2000.
Talking about the kind of risks
that Kapoor took in his long
career, he said, “I love
experimenting, rein-
venting right from
the beginning of
my career. I
have taken too
many risks..
D a n g e r o u s
risks. People
expect me to
do tapori roles
and I do
‘ I s h w a r ’ ,
‘Lamhe’, ‘Biwi
No 1′, ‘Taal’,
‘Welcome’ or do small
cameos. I kept doing out of the
box things.”
