With Jayalalithaa , Mamta and LDF triumphing the state
polls of Tamil Nadu , West Bengal and Kerala while BJP
bagged the Assam polls with majority of 86 seats, con-
gress has left with only 14% of India and 6 states in its
bag that too with alliances among 4 states. BJP’s dream
of congress mukt bharat is almost complete with elec-
tions in 7 states in 2017-18. Congress once ruled 94% of
India leaving Jammu&Kashmir with Sheikh Abdullah.
Rise of Indian National Congress started as a pro-british
Indian organization which later became the reason for
the main fight against them at the end of their rule. Later
the Jan Sangh joined the congress as a National Party.
Triumph of BJP over ASSAM is less important than the
fact that the gradual rise of regional parties in every state
must worry the hold of national parties. Is it because the
regional parties understand the issues and deliver more
than the national parties or the population has lost its
trust as the national parties have failed to deliver con-
stantly even after all these years of rule.
It might not be as big as an issue for BJP as it is for
Congress which is constantly facing distrust of people in
every scale of polls. While the congress has been dis-
cussing over RAHUL or PRIYANKA the overall existence
of its tag is losing ground. It’s time that they learn and act
else perish.
The rise of regional parties
In less than two decades of mass
bleaching of the coral reefs-0.1% of the
total bio diversity of oceans, is at a stage
of mass extinction. First of its kind was
recorded in 1979 while the current 2014-
16 mass bleaching followed by the
longest and most severe EL NINO effect
has impacted over a third of the world’s
corals, expectedly killing 12,000 sq feet
of coral ecosystem. The Great Barrier
Reefs of Australia, the biggest on the
planet has been affected severely with
only 4 sites remaining healthy among the
520. Sites of white dead oceanic ecosys-
tem ranges from Atlantic to Pacific ocean.
In a matter of few months, the colorful
oceanic biosphere was turned into sites of
white dead marine organisms which once
took millions to years to flourish. If it con-
tinues like this, livelihood of 500 million
families will be destroyed and will rob
them with annual income of $30 billion.
Corals are small soft bodied marine
organism called polyps and their colonies
are called the reefs with limestone skele-
ton at their base. It has a life span of 2-4
hundred years they flourish on the floor
rock and continuous budding gives
colonies of colorful and animal rich life.
The amazing colors we see which fasci-
nate us come from an algae named
Zooxanthellae. It provides food and shel-
ter to 25% of marine animals.
Rising temperature is the reason why
these amazing sea polyps turned toxic
spreading sites of dead corals across the
major and most rich sites of Indian ocean.
Galapagos island lost its 95% sea corals
in the mass bleaching events of 1982.
With developments projects going high
the annual constant rise in temperature
followed by consecutive EL NINO effects
rises the temperature of sea. Most of the
rise in global temperatures(93%) is
absorbed by oceans hence 1 degree rise
in sea temperature starts the bleaching
event and within 4-5 weeks an entire soci-
ety is turned into a graveyard of white
dead corals . Global warming, sedimenta-
tion and pollution could kill off more than
30% of global coral reefs by the end of the
second half of this century. In events of
mass bleaching coral dominated reefs
turned into algae dominated reefs which
take decades to reverse. The added heat
disturbs the relationship between algae
and polyps, as the algae turns toxic, they
are expelled by the corals and hence the
white skeleton come out. Without enough
plant cells to provide corals with food it
naturally starves to death.
This event is becoming common as we
step into another decade. In our selfish
needs we have put the bio diversity at a
destructive end and that day will soon
come when our future generations will
goggle to know about such fantastic nat-
ural wealth existed and destroyed by
their ancestors.
But as it is – it’s never too late and noth-
ing is built to last. We have been on the
top of the food chain for a reason and we
should prove its worth in constructing
ways .

Adhd&ArtTherapyDr. Prabhjeet Singh, Peacfulmind Foundation
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of
the most common childhood neurodevelopmental psy-
chiatric disorder that cause attention deficits, hyperactiv-
ity, or impulsiveness which is not appropriate for a per-
son's age. These symptoms must begin by age six to
twelve and can continue through adolescence and adult-
hood. Although, it is normal for all children to be inatten-
tive, hyperactive, or impulsive sometimes, but for chil-
dren with ADHD, these behaviors are more severe and
occur more often. In school aged individuals inattention
symptoms often result in poor school performance. Even
simple tasks such as putting together an outfit for the day
or remembering to eat breakfast can be frustrating for
people with ADHD.
Therapy is often useful for coping with symptoms as part
of an ADHD treatment plan, but when thoughts are swim-
ming in your head, it can be difficult to put into words the
things you struggle with on a daily basis. While standard
approaches to therapy including medication and behav-
ioral supports are integral to improving outcomes, alter-
native interventions have proven to be highly effective for
addressing some of the innate challenges encountered
by children with ADHD. Alternative therapies for ADHD
are often overlooked by parents and educators, but there
is a wealth of emerging research suggesting that these
tools can be instrumental in helping children address
some of the core challenges they face every day.
One of the most notable alternative therapies available
for the treatment of ADHD is art therapy. Art therapy
works in a number of different ways to lessen the impact
of many of the negative consequences of ADHD. For
instance, art therapy, which utilizes a number of different
approaches for nonverbal creative expression, can help
children with ADHD channel their intense emotions with-
out engaging in verbal outbursts. Arts therapy can take
many different forms, and the actual practical therapy
itself will vary greatly between individuals, depending on
their needs or issues.
This kind of therapy is not just for people with learning
disabilities; it can also work for people with mental health
issues, in schools and for elderly people.

2017 UK-India Year of Culture Launched in India
cnp bureau
New Delhi: Sir Ciaran Devane, Chief Executive, British
Council announced the launch of ‘2017 UK-India Year of
Culture’ campaign in New Delhi last evening. On his
maiden visit to India, he focused on the need to promote
cultural exchange for stronger ties between India and the
UK. He was joined by Mr. Alan Gemmell OBE, Director,
British Council India.
The year 2017 marks the culmination of four years of Re-
Imagine: a programme in the Arts designed to build new
creative connections in new ways between the people
and institutions of the UK and India. It offers a chance to
celebrate the achievements of the world’s largest democ-
racy, and consider how the future relationship between
the UK and India might help both to address the chal-
lenges of the 21st century.
The Indian government is going to be
America’s “great ally” and there is a need
to nurture this relationship, Speaker of the
US House of Representatives Paul Ryan
has said.
In a major foreign policy speech here in
which he was highly critical of President
Barack Obama’s policies, the US-India
relationship was the only aspect of it
which was appreciated by Ryan.
“I think you need, and in particular, specif-
ically under Modi’s leadership, and he and
I have discussed this at great length yes-
terday, (US-India) have a great potential
for the future particularly with the seas, in
the Pacific and in the Indian Ocean, mak-
ing sure that we help police the global
commons and international order, namely
China building, you know, runways on
islands in contested areas,” Ryan said.
He said this in the speech at the Council
on Foreign Relations on Thursday, a day
after Prime Minister Narendra Modi
addressed a joint meeting of the US
Congress at his invitation .
Modi was the first foreign leader to be
invited to address a joint sitting of the
Congress under Ryan’s speakership.
Modi and Ryan had a one-on-one interac-
tion before the Prime Minister’s address.
Ryan also hosted a lunch for the visiting
leader.
A day later, Ryan was all in praise for
Modi.
“I think the Indian (government), the new
Indian government, is going to be a great
ally of ours and we have better security
cooperation with them. That’s one thing
that we need to nurture and grow,” Ryan
told the audience at the Council on
Foreign Relations, a top American think-
tank.
“And those of us who are fans of Modi,
you know, he’s a conservative who wants,
who embraces free enterprise. He’s bring-
ing needed reform to the country,” Ryan
said, according to the remarks released
by his office.
“That’s the kind of an alliance that we
need to forge and build upon. That stands
in stark contrast, I would argue, to the
Obama foreign policy of the last eight
years where we have neglected our allies
and we have basically rewarded our ene-
mies, our adversaries,” said the Speaker
of the US House of Representatives.

U.S.-based SITE Intelligence Group, in its latest report,
has said that the Islamic State (IS) has claimed respon-
sibility for the killing of a volunteer of a Hindu temple in
Bangladesh’s Pabna Sadar upazila.
Nityaranjan Pandey, 60, a volunteer at Sree Sree Thakur
Anukulchandra Satsang ashram, was hacked to death
yesterday, the latest in a spate of such killings in the
country.
“Amaq News Agency reported that #ISIS fighters in
#Bangladesh killed a Hindu man in #Pabna, in the north
of the country,” the Daily Star quoted the tweet of SITE
intelligence.
The SITE Intelligence Group was the first one to post
tweets on the claims.
Nityaranjan was killed around 5:00 a.m. yesterday, when
he was taking his morning walk about half a kilometre
away from the ashram, a few yards off the Hemayetpur
Mental Hospital, according to police, locals and ashram
officials.
Police said unidentified assailants attacked NityaRanjan
around 5:00 a.m. local time yesterday, while he was
walking a few yards off the Hemayetpur Mental Hospital.
At least eight people have become victims of such
killings since May 1. They include a Christian grocer, a
Hindu priest and the wife of a police superintendent
hailed for successful anti-militancy drives.
Militants have killed more than 30 people in Bangladesh,
including members of religious minorities, liberal blog-
gers and academics, since February last year.

Pakistan’s powerful army
chief General Raheel
Sharif has asked the US to
target the hideouts of
Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan
militants and their chief
Mullah Fazlullah in
Afghanistan.
General Raheel made the
demand during a high-level
meeting with Commander
Resolute Support Mission
in Afghanistan General
John Nicholson and US
Special Representative for
Afghanistan and Pakistan
Richard Olson here yester-
day. In a late night state-
ment, the army said Gen
Raheel demanded target-
ing of Tehrik-e-Taliban
Pakistan militants and
Mullah Fazlullah in their
hideouts in Afghanistan.
“Raising the demand of tar-
geting TTP and Mullah
Fazlullah in their bases in
Afghanistan, COAS reiter-
ated Pakistan’s resolve not
to allow hostile intelligence
agencies’ efforts, especial-
ly RAW and NDS, of
fomenting terrorism,” it
said. It was the first visit of
high-level officials from the
US since fresh tension with
Pakistan after the killing of
the Afghan Taliban chief
Mullah Mansour by a CIA
drone in Balochistan on
May 21. The army said the
regional security situation,
with particular reference to
border management and
peace and stability in
Afghanistan in the post-21
May US drone strike envi-
ronment came under dis-
cussion. “Expressing his
serious concern on the US
drone strike in Balochistan
as a violation of Pakistan’s
sovereignty, Gen Raheel
highlighted as to how it had
impacted the mutual trust
and respect and was
counter-productive in con-
solidating the gains of
Operation Zarb-e-Azb,” it
said. Raheel said all efforts
for durable peace in the
region have to be syner-
gised with shared commit-
ment and responsibility in
order to make them suc-
cessful.
He said all stakeholders
need to understand
Pakistan’s challenges with
regard to porous border,
inter-tribal linkages and
decades-old presence of
over 3 million refugees.

Kabir’s contribution, in the 15th-century in
Indian mystic poet and Saint, whose writings

his verses are found in Sikhism's scripture
Adi Granth. His early life was in a Muslim
family, but he was strongly influenced by his
teacher, the Hindu bhakti leader

True God is with the person who is on the
path of righteousness, considered all crea-
tures on earth as his own self, and who is
passively detached from the affairs of the
world. To know God, suggested Kabir, medi-

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for
Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Minister of
State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports,
MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic
Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh has said that the
Gorkha community has served the nation in most difficult
times, through thick and thin, and the stories of their brav-
ery, valour and patriotism are an example for others.
Dr Jitendra Singh was speaking to a delegation of
“Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangha”, a national organization of
Gorkhas in India, who called on him here yesterday for
redressal of their long pending issues and sought his inter-
vention, particularly considering the fact that out of over one
crore Gorkha population in whole of India today, the major
portion of over 35 lakh lives in the North-Eastern region of
the country.
The delegation, led by its National President Shri S.M.
Moktan, held a detailed meeting with Dr Jitendra Singh,
wherein they brought up the issue of proper documents
being provided to the members of the community to certify
that they are permanent residents of the region. In the
absence of such documents, they complained, they are
sometimes seen as foreigners or illegal settlers or non-
locals. In many States, they complained, that lack of such
documentation has also deprived them from being enlisted
in voters list.

Mumbai: Singer Katy Perry’s make-up artist Jake Bailey
committed suicide in October 2015, an autopsy has con-
firmed.
Bailey, who had worked with the likes of celebrities Paris
Hilton and Mariah Carey, was found dead last October in
his car. Law enforcement sources claimed that Bailey
died from carbon monoxide poisoning, which has now
been confirmed in an autopsy, reports radaronline.com.
According to the autopsy obtained, the artiste’s death
was the result of him “burning charcoal inside the car” in
a small ceramic bowl.
“Handwritten signs indicating caution of vapours were
taped on the passenger and driver’s side windows. The
search of the residence revealed several typed and
handwritten suicide notes. The notes were addressed to
the decedent’s mother and his personal assistant,” the
reports read.
The report also states that items inside his car appeared
to hint at his ongoing battle with depression.
“The contents outlined the decedent’s ongoing battle

campaign for the new ini-
tiative of spreading aware-
ness as well as helping vic-
tims of child labour.
Addressing the problem of
child labour, the actor fur-
ther stressed on the need
to work towards this cause
and help children in need.
As a part of the new initia-
tive, Anil Kapoor also met
children who support their
families in Mumbai slums.
As these kids work in order
to earn their livelihood,
School on Wheels is an ini-
tiative taken by Plan India

a school in order to spread
knowledge through a
mobile classroom so that
these kids don’t have to
sacrifice their right to edu-
cation. This announcement
was made to commemo-
rate the International Day
