Numerous students flock
to participate in these fairs
in search of their dream
job, irrespective of the fact
whether that’s of their
interest or not. For long,
Job Fairs have been most
sought after approach
towards getting a job by
majority of the candidates.
Like every product or serv-
ice cannot be best in its
own terms, so is the Job
Fairs which also has cer-
tain advantages coupled
with disadvantages.
Candidates and compa-
nies are the stakeholders
besides the organizers
who derive benefit from

A Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander
in Pulwama district of Kashmir region
surrendered on Saturday, dealing a
major blow to the Burhan group of mili-
tants in the Kashmir Valley, officials said.
“Tariq Pandit, a close associate of
Burhan Wani, and a commander of HM
outfit surrendered before the security
forces”, a senior police officer told IANS
in Srinagar.
Defence sources said the militant com-
mander surrendered before the officers
of 55 Rashtriya Rifles deployed for anti-
militancy operations.
Pandit had been prominent in pictures
posted on the social media that showed
Wani and his associates wielding
weapons and wearing army fatigues.
For over six months now, a 22-year-old
youth from Pulwama district, Burhan
Wani, has become a militant icon to lure
educated local youth into the cadre of
insurgent groups.
Despite their best efforts, Wani is still at
large and the security forces have not
been able to arrest or eliminate him.
A reward of Rs 10 lakh has been
announced by the security forces for
anyone leading to actionable information
on Wani.

fully fund the case with

terms of sale have now
expired,” Dawn quoted a
source as saying.
According to the $699 mil-
lion deal, eight F-16C/D
Block-52 multi-role fighters
(2 C and 6 D models),
were to partially be
financed through the US
Foreign Military Financing
(FMF) programme, but the
Congress disallowed sub-
sidising the sale over con-
cerns that Islamabad had
not done enough to end
the Haqqani network’s
sanctuaries on its soil.
Following that Pakistan
was asked by the US
administration to make the
full payment for the eight
aircraft, which earlier was
to be provided at the sub-
sidised rate of $270 mil-
lion. It is unclear why
Pakistan missed the
opportunity despite press-
ing requirement for the
jets. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s
Ambassador to U.S. Jalil
Abbas Jilani, said “a dead-
end has not been reached
as yet”, reports Dawn. Last
month, Adviser on Foreign
Affairs Sartaj Aziz said
Islamabad could look to
buy the aircraft from some
other country if the deal did
not go ahead. Analysts
reportedly believe that
Islamabad could consider
Russian or Chinese fight-
ers to meet its defence
requirements.

A new piece of debris found possible belonging to the
missing Malaysia Airline flight MH370 was found on a
beach in Mozambique.
A person contacted the BBC and said he recently found
the fragment on the Macaneta peninsula.
He said the pieces were “reasonably light, did not have
metal on the outside, and looked extremely similar to
photos posted on the internet of other pieces of debris
from aeroplanes.”
Don Thompson, a British engineer who is part of an infor-
mal international group investigating MH370, said the
piece found by the person “does look like it’s part of
Boeing 777”, most like a leading or trailing edge closing
panel from the wing or tail.
“It’s in the right area where debris is expected to wash
up,” he told the BBC, saying it indicated the accuracy of
drift models which show how debris might have moved
from the crash site.
The piece will now be examined by the official investiga-
tion team in Australia.
Five fragments have so far been confirmed as being def-
initely or probably from MH370. MH370, flying from
Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, had 239 people on board when
it vanished on March 8, 2014. It is presumed to have
crashed into the southern Indian Ocean after veering off
course. Australian, Malaysian and Chinese ships have
been searching 120,000 sq.km of seabed using under-
water drones and sonar equipment.

Observatory for Human Rights said 150 strikes had targeted IS positions around the
flashpoint towns of Tal Abyad and Ain Issa since the push was launched.
“There has been a serious intensification of air strikes, but they were most intense on
the first day of the operation,” said Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman. Abdel
Rahman specified that his usage of the word “strike” referred to a missile hitting a tar-
get.The coalition has confirmed carrying out air strikes near Ain Issa and Raqa, but it
uses a different definition of “strikes” which makes the tallies difficult to compare.
The Britain-based Observatory also said that clashes in rural territory in northern Raqa
province had left at least 31 IS fighters dead.
“There are definitely casualties among the SDF`s ranks but they are not releasing any
figures,” he said. “There are almost no civilians in the villages where the fighting is hap-
pening, which is why there is no civilian death toll,” Abdel Rahman said.

to be such a glamorous job; though the fact is, it isn't?
Well, for one, it is because a film producer, whether big
or small, is seen with all the celebrities of the showbiz.
The real reason however is, almost all the creative pro-
fessionals in showbiz - be it established or aspiring - are
in perpetual need of funding to give shape to their vision
and this is a tad tedious job. Getting a producer on board
to stand by a director’s vision is a hurricane task; so
almost all producers, find themselves in huge demand!
Now being a film producer isn't easy - because the con-
cept that a producer invests money in a film is passé,
reason being production-costs of films are at an all time
high; instead the concept of a producer is more dynamic
today!
A producer can be any person who can put together a
film project; right from script to actors to locations to
release - with money or in kind – like securing deals that
felicitate smooth completion of a movie.
May be for this reason, more and more actresses are
turning producers like never before! At this year Cannes
Film Festival - a whopping 10% of the producers were
actresses, established or aspiring, and almost fifty per-
cent in their mid-20's!
A reason for actresses turning producers could be the
fact that an actress has an average career-span of 3 to 4
years; turning a film producer not only enhances their
career-span, but also earn them the much needed
respect and a clout in the industry, with more and more
directors approaching them and writing heroine-centric
films for them. The real challenge however, for a Film
Producer, is to churn out blockbusters which of course is
an art of identifying potential hit films from the heap of
scripts that any producer receives. Developing this art
requires a lot of experience and time, which will be

launched by the transport
department in June this
year has failed to evoke a
positive response from
them as the norms for the
scheme are very strict.
The pink-colour autos will
ferry only women passen-
gers. The scheme was
launched to ensure that
the women of the city trav-
el safe. Gurgaon already
has such autos.
The transport department
plans to issue 350 permits
for the autos, but it has not
yet received a single
application so far.
According to the condi-
tions laid down by the
transport department, only
women passengers can
travel in the pink autos.
Also, the autos are sup-
posed to be equipped with
global positioning system
(GPS) and
have meters. But most of
the autos in Noida do not
have GPS nor do they
have any meters.
We have learnt that only
women can drive pink
autos and only women
passengers can be fer-
ried. Auto drivers are
reluctant to apply for pink
autos due to these rea-
sons. Had the transport
department taken
auto drivers and their
unions in confidence while
preparing the plan, the
response would have been
wonderful,” said Om

Indian Sugar industry was deregulated in 2013. Only regula-
tion which remains is called the Fair and Remunerative Price
(FRP); which the Government notifies essentially to protect
farmers’ incomes. Presently, the FRP is Rs. 230 per quintal
of cane at a base sugar recovery of 9.5%. It is mandated
that farmers be remunerated in accordance with FRP and
sugar recoveries, within a period of 14 days failing which
interest is payable by the mills. In a year, typically, the cane
price payable to farmers is in the range of Rs.60, 000 cr to
65,000 cr.
In 2014, when the NDA government took over, the Sugar
Industry was facing severe crisis of arrears of cane pay-
ments. Over the past two year, the policy interventions by
the Government have shown remarkable progress in reduc-
ing arrears. Starting with a legacy of arrears of Rs.14,000 cr
pertaining to many years, and a severe liquidity stress in the
sector, the policy interventions have borne results.

police have arrested two M.Tech stu-
dents of East West College on Magadi
Road have for creating a fake e-mail
ID and sending mails threatening to
bomb at Kempegowda International
Airport and hijack flights.
He said during interrogation the duo
had confessed the crime and told that
they also uploaded photographs of
three of their professors as revenge
for the low marks awarded to them in
the internal assessment last year.
Detailed investigation revealed that
the three professors always favoured
girls. Raghavendra S. (26) and
Hoysala (23) created a fake e-mail ID
from the college lab only and sent the
threatening mails on March 22.
The international airport police
stepped up security but realised it
was a hoax. However, efforts to trace
the culprits gathered pace after they
received another mail on May 6. The
special team managed to track down
the duo, who have been booked under
various sections of the IPC and sup-
pression of unlawful acts against
Safety of Civil Aviation Act. They have
been remanded in judicial custody
