World War I And The Treaty Of Versailles
Have you ever wondered why World War II happened despite World War I being the war to end all
wars? World War I lasted four years and was very gruesome. Much of the Western Front was
destroyed and about 10 million people died. Germany ended the war by ceasing fire and making an
armistice on November 11, 1918. The Allied Power had successfully defeated the Central Powers and
America had accomplished their goal to end the war. After the surrender from Germany, the Allied
Power met up to make a treaty with Germany, however, Germany was not invited to come and
negotiate. The Treaty of Versailles would soon be created and it would put most of the blame of World
War I on Germany. The Treaty of Versailles contributed to the onset of World War II ... Show more

There were four main leaders during the Versailles Conference and they were: Woodrow Wilson,
George Clemenceau, David Lloyd George, and Vittorio Orlando. Each of them had major goals that
would benefit them since the war was on their land. Vittorio Orlando, the Prime Minister of Italy,
worked to get the extra land for Italy. Originally, they would not have been able to do this since Italy
was originally an ally of Germany, but they switched over to the Allied Powers in 1915 and declared
war on Germany. Italy was promised land as a reward for helping out and switching over to the Allied
Powers. David Lloyd George, the Prime Minister of Great Britain, asked for justice and not for
revenge. He wanted Germany to pay for the damages done to Britain s military, Germany s colonies,
and for Gremany to be stipped of its navy. He also helped Wilson and Clemenceau compromise.
George Clemenceau, the Prime Minister of France, wanted both revenge and to punish the Germans.
He wanted Germany to pay for the damage done during the war and to weaken Germany so that they
could never invade France again. He also wanted Germany to give up Rhineland, Alsace Lorraine, and
the Saar. Lastly, he wanted Germany to be totally and permanently disarmed so that it could not attack
other nations. Woodrow Wilson, the President of the United States of America, just wanted to end the
war by making a fair peace treaty. He devised the

Analysis Of The Mid 70 S
The mid 70 s became the climax in allowance for different family situation. Unlike the 50 s and 60 s
where women played minor roles as housewives, the 70 s presented a new kind of role for females:
single moms. Sitcoms such as The Partridge Family, focused on the mother figure and displayed the
roles she undertook as both a mother and a father. Comparing The Partridge Family to a modern
sitcoms such as Ben Kate, these shows share a male characters that fills in the father figure gap and
the struggle both mothers face as single parents. On the other hand, they differ in the child s rebellion
due to their void in a paternal figure. The show may centralise on a single mother, however, there will
always be a male figure present to take the place of the father. Rabinovitz notes that in spite of the
sitcom revolving around a single mom, a male figure, whether if it was a relative of the mother or an
unsuitable mate for the mother, is incorporated into the show as a male representation for the child. In
The Partridge Family, the band s manager was the closest father figure the five children had. In Ben
Kate, Ben is the father figure of his niece Maddie. How these characters fulfil their father figure duties
are similar as well. In the Partridge Family, the children spend most of the time with their mom and
Reuben Kincaid, the manager of the band. Although Ruben regularly clashed with the children
because of his grumpy attitude, he took on the paternal role of being present

The Popularity Of Professional American Football
While the Popularity of professional American football has grown to unbelievable numbers across of
America, the effects on the brain health of the game s players have led to people asking if it is worth
it. For a long time, the game of American professional football has been a love for many Americans
and even a lot of people that do not live in America. For a lot of people, the game has been all over the
TVs in their homes for a long time and has been a source of joy and a reason to get together and
socialize and celebrate. Many of the teams today have built large stadiums that are partly paid for by
these same fans. For example, when the Pittsburgh Steelers were building their new stadium, they

The sale of professional football jerseys, t shirts, hats and other clothes are making teams very rich.
On any given Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday night, it is not hard to find
groups of people that have gathered to enjoy the game of professional American football. All of this is
taking place in a time where concussion or head injuries have begun to gain attention at every level of
the game. As more and more games are being played, we are beginning to see more and more
concussion injuries on the playing field. While we think that this would scare people, the popularity of
the game continues to be at great levels.
The Birth of the Game of American Football
The National Football League (NFL) is the professional football league that most people recognize as
the giant of American football. However, the game did not begin with a professional level. The first
ever game of football that was played happened on the college level on November 6, 1869. It took
place in New Brunswick, New Jersey and was a game that put Rutgers University against Princeton
University. The two schools are located only 20 miles from each other.
At that time, players were not allowed to pass the football in the air or run with it down the field. The
only way to move the ball down the field was by batting the ball or dribbling it kind of like you were
playing soccer. There were no

Male Response to the Female Form Essays
Male Response to the Female Form
Every action has a reaction. All human beings react to certain situations in certain ways. Little
children cringe at the sight of brussel sprouts, people cry at sad movies, and everyone laughs at jokes.
How do men react when they are brought before the nude female form? What is the basis for their
reactions? Do people change personalities when exposed to this? I have tried to learn the mysteries
behind these questions, and brought myself to many conclusions. The explanations of these questions
answers are not short and simple. They are in fact very complex. To sum up the topic, there is not just
one reaction, and this depends on many key factors. All people change, from a tiny bit to a drastic ...

All details of the setting, behavior, actions, and reactions must be noted. The first place of observation
was a nudist village in Clearwater, Florida by the name of Paradise Country Club. Men and women
walk around with as little amount of clothing on as one desires. Most people walking around are
totally nude and people carry on their usual routines like this. The first thing I noticed was that the
males had no apparent sexual attraction to the females. Physically the males were relaxed and their
penises were not in an erected form. There was no staring, awkward looks or sexual gestures.
Everyone who had chosen to be nude was totally comfortable around each other. Dennis Kirkpatrick, a
nudist who maintains the rec.nude FAQ s website, claims that #8230;For hundreds of years, people
have assumed a connection between nudity and sex after all, the only time many people are nude,
other than while bathing, is during sex. Naturists reject this assumption. Nudity does not automatically
lead to sex and, incidentally, you can have sex with your clothes on. The two are quite simply not
related #8230; One individual who accompanied me too this site, person L, had been here many times
and also quite comfortable there. He was not naked but did not think twice about the people who were.
Nudism or Naturism is not a totally common thing in the United States, but does exist. It is not for

Hamlet In Hamlet
Immediately after Claudius takes the throne, Hamlet can perceive the perversion of the court. O, that
this too, too sallied1 flesh would melt,/Thaw and resolve itself into a dew! (Shakespeare, 1.2.129 130).
According to Dodsworth, an instinctual revulsion does not account for Hamlet s feeling of self disgust.
In English society at the time, Hamlet s unusual family situation was not definitively incestuous. He
claims that Hamlet s (and the Ghost s) complaint of incest is subordinate to the larger issue of loss of
honor (Dodsworth, 46 47). I propose, however, that this shame is more deep rooted; a result of the
collective depravity. Of all the characters in the play, Hamlet is the most aware of the presence of sin
in the court.
...To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, tis a consummation (Shakespeare, 3.3.59 63).
In Hamlets understanding, death is an escape from the pain of life: these pains, like heart ache are
natural and native to the body. All humans feel pain as it is an infection inherent to the flesh. Hamlet
contends that the distorted life they are living is a permanent, unalterable destiny. You should not have
believed me; for virtue cannot so inoculate our old stock but we shall relish of it (3.1.115 116). He
realizes that, even if virtue is enacted, even if good deeds are done, the Old Adam will not die. Later in
the same scene, when Hamlet is speaking

The Universal Truth In Faust By Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
Wolfgang von Goethe was a German writer and polymath back in the 1800s. Goethe is considered the
supreme genius of modern German literature. Although he was alive so long ago, the ideas he put out
there are still pertinent to the modern world. Goethe s quote is a universal truth and his philosophy is
even proven. Until one is committed there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always
ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation) there is one elementary truth, the
ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans that the moment one definitely commits
oneself, then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help that would never have otherwise
occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The poem has many different aspects that can be analyzed in interpreted. These different aspects of
Faust emphasize the greater nature of good versus evil. These aspects include the time period of what
Goethe set the play and the time he wrote the play, the setting gives a greater portrait of the conflicts
that arise, and the plot gives the enhancement of right and wrong. The characters, for instance, has the
natural antagonist, the Devil (qtd. In Bierhorst, 2010). In different religions, the Devil has many
different names, such as Lucifer, Satan, The Wicked One, or The Arch Fiend. Due to Goethe s natural
culture as a German, he naturally names the Devil as Mephistopheles, or in short, Mephisto. Mephisto
is the antagonist in the poem because he tries to move Faust in the direction of evil and temptation. As
the antagonist, he eventually is defeated by an element he is unaware of, love. Mephisto creates his
own doom, by presenting Faust a woman that he will eventually love. Mephisto tried to tempt Faust
into lust because he wanted Faust to surrender his soul to him. So in order for Mephisto to succeed in
his goals, he was supposed to meet all of Faust s desires. Unfortunately, the one desire Faust wanted,
backfires on Mephisto s plan. The next character in Faust is Faust himself. He is naturally the
protagonist in the short poem. Faust is a known physician in his town and learned as many traits as he
could. Unfortunately, his human desire of greed had consumed his mindset. Even though he
accomplished all that he wanted, he eventually turned to evil or magic and made a pact with the devil.
In the first act of the poem, he seems to have the intentions of more of the antagonist; more evil doing

Celtic Life Essay
Upon hearing the term Celtic, the first things that come to mind are the awe of their intricately
patterned jewelry, lively music, and the flowing tunics they wore. These people are also known for
being fierce warriors and for their superstitious, nature centered religion. Celtic customs are still alive
and well in places like Ireland and the western reaches of Britain, but within this essay I shall explore
their origins and traditions. To start off, I will address the Tumulus peoples. They were among the
growing number of societies whom spoke dialects that branched off of Indo European; a language
originating in, and spread from, the border between the continents of Asia and Europe. The Tumulus,
among other groups and tribes, began ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the very beginning the pro Celts established that their society was that of warriors, spending
much of their time warring with other groups and taking territories. They gained an advantage in their
warfare and trade alike once horses became commonly used in Celtic society. The increased mobility
put them a notch above the rest; helping the Celts in their invasions and defense. In the 7th and 8th
centuries BC, their boundaries kept pushing into lands which today would be called Germany and
France. Sizeable hilltop forts were built to maintain the people whom the Celts took power over.
As time went on and lands were conquered, typical burial procedures morphed. Because of having
such a war centered life, they began burying the dead with their swords to commemorate them for the
gritty effort they contributed to their people. Supplies such as wagons, good pottery, and food were
also stowed away with the bodies in order for them to have a well prepared afterlife. Chiefs, in
particular, were buried with special bronze urns and multiple swords. Towards the 8th century BC, as
the Iron Age dawned, warriors began to be buried with sturdier iron weapons. Wooden chambers
replaced cremation urns more and more often as the 7th century moved into the 6th century BC. Items
such as swords and eating implements were still included. In some burial

Puritanism In America Today
Puritanism was a set of beliefs that sprang up after the Protestant Reformation. This was especially
focused on self indulgence and sex. Puritanism should not to be practiced in America today because of
all the negative effects it had created , such as being the enemy of freedom in the twentieth century,
portrayal of sexuality of the human body, and the search for religious freedom, while being intolerant
to other religions. One of the reasons why Puritanism should not be practiced in America today is
because it was the enemy of freedom in the twentieth century. In The Hypocrisy of Puritanism Emma
Goldman states, It repudiates as something vile and sinful, our deepest feelings: but being absolutely
ignorant as to the real functions of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The nudity of woman was excessively used which made people forget the significance of the human
body, especially for females. Emma Goldman herself writes, Thus Freud believes that the intellectual
inferiority of so many women is due to the inhibition of thought imposed upon them for the purpose of
sexual repression (9). Basically, Goldman is saying how many women had became self conscious
because there bodies were given such low respect which had made them feel uncomfortable and
worthless. Equally important, Puritans searched for religious freedom, while being intolerant to other
religions. In the Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God by Jonathan Edwards, he tells people to accept
Christianism so they can save themselves. In fact he also says, Therefore, let everyone that is out of
Christ, now awake and fly from the wrath to come (101). Edwards states if you are not Christian then
god is ready to burn you up, so you better run fast. In short, Puritanism lead to a huge amount of
negative effects in America and should not be practiced. Nowadays women are told they are beautiful
no matter what size they are. If Puritanism was practiced in America today then there would be
judgements in having freedom. Since puritanism has passed, the society has evolved in many ways
such as, relationships, religions, women s rights, law, technology,

The purpose of this writing is to summarize a reading from George Orwell, Politics and the English
Language . The intended audience is Professor Lindholm. The goals of this draft is to clarify the
summary in my own words with no opinions. Also, providing enough information about the main
points of Orwell s essay. Based on this draft, I see the strengths falling under the main points of each
paragraph and the introduction paragraph. However, the weaknesses are to clarify more in each
paragraph. In other words, to elaborate more so the reader can understand better. Since my previous
draft, I made a few changes in this essay. These changes include editing a couple of sentences and
adding politics in the introduction. These modifications are made in order to conform the requirements
of this assignment. My questions are, Where should I clarify more? and Where do you see any
opinions? .

have more absurd understandings. In most cases, political writings are commonly seen as poor quality
scripts by the vagueness in our vocabulary. Orwell argues in order to advance from these irrational
thoughts, an individual may manage to ponder more precisely. As well, the writers may avert these
bad tendencies if they prompt to move through the obstacles. Throughout his essay, Orwell provides
five passages that distribute into two aspects: staleness of imagery and lack of precision . Also, he
contributes other factors of lousy writing. In the next few paragraphs, George Orwell amplifies these

Representation Of Indian Literature And Film
Representation of Maori in New Zealand narratives; literature and film, has been a criticised problem
by Maori and academics for centuries. I will explore the representation of Maori in film and literature
through a mana wahine context, directed by leading national and international mana wahine scholars.
My aim is to shed light on issues that surround Maori representation and issues within the Maori
community. My capstone project aims to give Maori a strong, self affirming voice. I want to reclaim
my identity and empower other Maori through my personal account of being Maori in a low socio
economic suburb. I believe that representations of Maori are stereotypical, derogatory, and false.
Therefore, these images reflect us to the wider community in vast negative lights. Most importantly,
these deceitful depictions negatively affect views Maori have of themselves. Professor Linda Tuhiwai
Smith is a pioneer of Kaupapa Maori Research. I will utilize her second edition of her book
Decolonizing Methodologies: Research and Indigenous peoples (Smith 2012) as a framework. I will

of race and gender such as Bell Hooks, Leonie Pihama, and myself. Decolonizing Methodologies is an
analytical investigation of the role Western academic research contributed to the process of

Bullying Vs Cyberbullying
School Officials Vs Cyberbullying Cyberbullying is one of the world s major causes of teen
depression and suicide, stating that 42% kids been bullied while online (Cushing). Although due to
this increase with devices, such as phones and computers, people tend to cyberbully since it s the
easiest way to gain the victim. Cyberbullying is an act of bullying through devices, threatening or
humiliating the victim that is being communicated to. This causes harm to those who fall victim,
around twenty percent of these victims tend to think of suicide, and one of ten often commit the act.
Due to cyberbullying, school officials should help stand for those deteriorating as a victim, this will
then help prevent suicidal acts, suppress depression, and help improve teens to be more cooperative
with others in the same situations. Cyberbullying since then became a national problem. Although if
school officials take part in helping out with teens, this will prevent suicidal acts among the students.
Counseling, just on its own, can help prevent these suicidal thoughts. Due to their careers counselors
tend to know how to handle many situations amongst students including that of cyberbullying. By
doing their jobs, counselors can not only go to the student being bullied, but engage the students who
tend to imply the bullying. This creates programs that ll help the communities to help one another in
these situations. With programs being constructed this will benefit the way society will

Video compression utilizes high computational power. For real time requirements of multimedia
applications faster computations need to be performed. To fulfill such requirements of video
compression a parallel computational algorithm can be implemented. In this thesis, the parallelism of
multi core architecture was exploited using block matching algorithm. The test implementation of the
algorithm was done on MATLAB. The parallel model was designed using OpenMP and its
implementation was tested on multi core architectures. The parallel implementation divides a current
frame into independent macro blocks and each block is allotted to OpenMP section which then assigns
it to a thread for performing the computations. The result of the implementation shows speedier
computations with effective utilization of multi cores. This work suggests a promising approach which
can further be developed and exploited. Keywords motion estimation, block matching algorithm, multi

Kinetics is the study of the rate of chemical processes. The kinetics of the reaction between crystal
violet and NaOH was studied. In order to monitor crystal violet concentration as a function of time, a
spectroscopic colorimeter was used. What is the rate law for decolorization of crystal violet? In order
to figure this out, the rate of the reaction of crystal violet and sodium hydroxide must be found. In this
experiment, the initial goals were to determine the overall rate law for the rate of decolorization of
crystal violet in basic solutions as a function of time and to determine the rate law for the reaction

Time) because it had a correlation closest to 1. All three orders were graphed and a linear regression
was used to see which graphed order was closest to 1. The order was determined by comparing the
concentration and time to the mathematical predictions made using the integrated rate laws. Analyzing
each graph and finding each correlation helped determine which graph was closest to 1. The more
concentrated a solution is, the higher the absorbance of that solution. This is due to Beer s Law. The
law measures the absorbance of a solution by determining how much light passes through a solution.
As the concentration of a solution increases, fewer wavelengths of light are able to pass through the
concentrated solution. The absorbance at 60 seconds was 0.573 (Figure 1: Table1). To calculate the
concentration (molarity), the Beer s Law equation was used, Abs = slope(m)+b. Plugging in what is
known into the Beer s Law equation resulted in 0.573 = 3.172e+004 + 0, where the concentration is
determined by M = 0.573 0/ 3.172e+004. So, the concentration at 60 seconds using the equation (M =
0.573 0 / 3.172e+004) was 1.824e 5 M. The 1st order graph resulted in k=0.006152 (Figure 1: Graph

Do you enjoy the sense of amazement at what you can make? If you find pleasure with any of these,
then you will enjoy learning how to create your own hero out of Lego Bionicle parts that protects your
fictional worlds from harm.
In order to make your robot warrior, you will need to gather your supplies. First, you should collect
the small pieces, which are from the Lego Technic franchise. These pieces include pins, axles, and
gears. Secondly, you will need to grab the main parts: Lego Bionicle ball joints. There are two types of
ball joints: ones with guards on the side, and ones without guards. For the ball joints without guards,
use the ones with Technic pin holes. They will allow you to add more armor on the legs. Another piece
that you will need is a torso piece. The last group of pieces you will need are the armor and
accessories. The armor should have primary and secondary colors. This will make your warrior look

The Scope Of Customary International Law
Within the scope of customary international law, there are some varying norms that the international
law community must deal with, which are broken down into three different categories from most
important to least important: 1) norms in which the international community allows no derogation,
these are known as peremptory norms or jus cogens, 2) norms that might allow for derogation, and 3)
norms that aren t binding but some might argue should be.
To classify these customary norms scholars use both state practice and opinio juris. In order to
determine state practice the states may look towards each other and how they react in similar
scenarios. One debate surrounding this area is determining how many states need to sign off on an
action to determine that sufficient state practice is occurring. Two sides of the argument are the actual
number states versus the regionalization of the states. Opinio juris is defined as a state engaging in a
certain activity because they believe they are under legal obligation to act.
The idea of peremptory norms is older than modern international law itself (113). The idea of
peremptory norms stems from the belief that certain actions are so heinous that derogation is not
allowed. The Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties shows the importance of peremptory norms in
both Article 53 and 64. Article 53 states that a treaty is void if, at the time of its conclusion, it conflicts
with a peremptory norm. Article 64 explains that treaties,

In order to offset the match amount required by FEMA, Anytown successfully applied for an

Inhumanity In 1910s
Prosperity with Exploitation and Social Unrest To Japanese economy, 1910s is definitely the era for
growth, era for boom and era for wealth accumulation. The exports in Japan raised from 228 Million
US Dollars at the beginning of 1910s to 603 US Dollars when the period ended. Its weighting to the
world s manufacturing exports rose from 1.8% in 1910 to 3.9% after 1910s. The GDP level of Japan
climbed from 64559 million Gaeary Khamis dollars (base year as 1990) in 1910 to over 100000
million in 1919. Those figure indicated that this decade is the golden decade for Japanese economy.
However, behind the prosperity, Japanese society is full of exploitation and inhumanity, which leads to
the social unrest in this decade. Behind the fast growing rate, the factory and industry owner did not
share the gain with its workers, but exploited them in a more severe way. For instance,
methamphetamine (See Invention 1) was invented in this period to maintain the production efficiency
of workers for a longer hour to cut down the production cost. This shown that behind the prosperity,

The rice market price rose significantly in 1917 1918 while the income of the peasants as well as other
workers remained the same as the factory owner and government wanted to lower the cost to maintain
the competitiveness of Japanese exports and keep the high rate of growth. The huge climb of price
level while the income nearly remained the same had severely declined the living standard of the low
class Japanese. This led to a series of protest and unrest in the late 1910s. Rice riot (See Event 1) is
one of the example of those unrest movement. Those social movements had led to further reform of
the Japanese government and society, which would be discussed in the following

How To Write An Essay On The Kite Runner
The kite runner takes place in Afghanistan where the norm is for little kids to be molested and raped.
The Taliban brush it off as if it is acceptable for people to do. This tragic act happened to a little boy
named Hassan, his friend Amir saw the act being done, but was so afraid to do anything, he acted as if
he did not witness it. Little did he know that he not speaking up and defending his friend would haunt
him all his life. Even after twenty six years later it still haunted him. The author set up the book with it
starting with such a tragic event and ends it with a very good scene almost a happy ending. I feel as if

Amir wanted to make a difference so he tried to find out who was the officer that put Hassans son in

took advantage of. Come to find out the guard that was holding Sohrab was the person that raped his
father when he was younger. Sohrab and Amir end up living in the United States together and at the
end of the book it tells that they are kite running together. The framing of the novel is so important
because it starts with Hassan, a servant of Amir s family much lower in society, running for the kite
for Amir and then at the end Amir ends up running the kite for Hassans son Sohrab. Life in their
country has truly evolved since the beginning, Amir ran the kite just like Hassan did for him and that
was how he redeemed himself from his guilt from all these

Women As An Adult Female Person
Dictionary.com defines woman as an adult female person. This does justice in simple terms but a
woman is much more than simply an adult female person. Women are caregivers and nurturers. We are
strong, independent, protective, and driven. We are the electricity that keeps the lights on and the
washers of the laundry when their children are too lazy to do it (only because we care, not because it is
our duty ). Unfortunately, this is not how women were always seen. We have had to fight hard to get
where we are today, and must continue to fight so we can be somewhere new tomorrow. Women were
seen as housewives, who cooked cleaned, and cared for the children while their husband was bringing
home the bacon. This transferred into the theater as well. Women were expected to always attend with
a male escort to one, keep her safe, as theater could easily turn into a riot, and two because attending
without a man suggested one was a prostitute. The invention of the matinee performance allotted
women the opportunity to attend shows during the day, making it safe from brawls and thieves while
also sparing a woman s reputation. Women s participation in public life increased in the later portion
of the 1800s, majorly due to the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848, and later in the 1920s due to the
Women s Suffrage Amendment of 1920. However, in the 1840s, the Philharmonic took a leap in
jumpstarting the public social lives of women in New York. In 1847, the Philharmonic opened its

How Technology Has Changed Business
The rise in technology over the last two decades has affected businesses tremendously. E business is
changing not only how we buy and sell but is transforming the way we do business altogether. In the
fast paced and competitive nature of the business marketplace, e business has allowed companies to
increase the value of their organization by improving their operations, not just allowing customers to
buy over the internet. In order to stay competitive, businesses must embrace the culture change into
new technology. This is one of the greatest challenges that business face today. It is important to
recognize how technology has influenced businesses, how new technologies can be adopted, and what
it means for consumers and organizations.
E business is the use of Internet technologies to link customers, suppliers, business partners, and
employees (Information Week, Dec 13, 1999). This can be in the form of e commerce websites that
offer sale transactions, customer service websites, intranets and enterprise portals, extranets and
supply chains, and lastly, IP electronic data interchange. The use of these different networks and
technologies all businesses to improve, enable, enhance, invent, or transform a business process.
Basically, technology helps build and manage relationships within a business to potentially transform
a firm into a networked entity with seamless supply chains and superior value creation processes.
The adoption of innovative technology can be viewed from

Analysis Of The Shawshank Redemption By Frank Darabont

Evaluative Essay
October 13th, 2015
Evaluative Analysis: The Shawshank Redemption When it comes to movies, I am not exactly what
you could consider well versed. Had it not been for several close friends of mine, I would have never
even seen blockbuster hits such as Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, or Back to the Future. The
reason for this is not because I dislike watching movies, but rather due to the restrictive nature of my
parents. Thus, I have not had the privilege to enjoy The Shawshank Redemption, Frank Darabont s
1994 adaptation of the Stephen King novel, until recently. Due to countless positive reviews and the
recommendations of friends, I anticipated that it would be a must see for those mature enough to
appreciate its commentary on the human condition. After viewing the flick, I can certainly verify The
Shawshank Redemption deserves its must see status, as it contains such relatable themes and excellent
cinematic techniques. Various themes are presented in the film; however, the most prevalent of these
themes are the severity of isolation and the redeeming qualities of hope. The Shawshank Redemption
follows the story of Andy Dufresne, a man wrongly convicted of the murder of his wife and her lover,
and his time spent at the Shawshank prison, as well as Andy s eventual escape. Early on, it becomes
extremely evident that those imprisoned at Shawshank must deal with unbearable isolation on multiple
levels. Shawshank

The Development Of New Zealand
New Zealand is a country which for the most part is made up of hills and mountains area. These hilly
and mountainous natures cover about 18 million hectares in land. This means that about 69% of the
country land has slopes greater than 12°, and got the country to be nicknamed the hill country . This
69% hilly land is further divided into two based on the sloppiness of the land. The land with slope
between 12 28° is called hill land ; thus, the land whose slope exceeds 28° is themed steepland (DSIR
1980). The diversity in New Zealand s hill country physical regimes creates ranges of slope and
altitude, coupled with a extensive latitudinal range, a mid oceanic setting surrounding the subtropical
with cooling moderate climates, and complex geologic and tectonic regimes. As a consequence of this
diversity, the productive potential of New Zealand s hill country, and its response to climatic events,
created the use of sustainable land us act to be used across the country.
Out of these 18 million hectares, 6.3 million hectares in the North Island comprises of majorly soft
rock and crushed soft rock terrain (Mclvor, Douglas, Dymond, Eyles and Marden. 2011). About 23%
of the 18 million is made up of volcanic ash and loess mantled terrain comprises largely on the
periphery of the Central Volcanic Zone. Also, 14.5% of the available land is Hard rock hill country,

Medical Detoxification In Obama Care
There has been an expectation of society that substance abuse treatment should eliminate alcohol and
illicit drug use while improving individual health and social functioning as to reduce the public safety
threat. The Affordable Care Act of 2010 also known as Obama Care was created with intentions of
expanding the availability of health insurance. In 2011 the President s National Drug Control Strategy
requested investments in screening, intervention and referral to treatment, and expanded the Access to
Recovery voucher program. These initiatives are a start towards total care for alcohol and substance
abuse patients, however from our study we have found that treatment may be best when considered as
a long term possibly life resource for these individuals to become successfully sober and healthy. One
of the initial processes of treatment includes that of medical detoxification. Detoxification, is defined
at the period of time a client is withdrawing from AOD (141). This detox is necessary in regards to
drugs, such as CNS depressants, because of their dangerous withdrawal symptoms (21). Careful
medical supervision in regards to withdrawals as well as medications that may be used in treating
symptoms related to these effects. This process ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In the start of Fahrenheit 451, Montag s thoughts are that fire is good for society. He burns books for a
living, and never thought twice about doing his job. That is until he meets characters such as Clarisse,
Beatty, and the academics. Montag s understanding of the nature of fire changes as he becomes
enlightened through his relationships.
It was a pleasure to burn (1). Montag never thought much of his job, to him, it was merely his duty.
Meeting Clarisse starts Montag s revision of life. Her interest and questioning is so unique that
Montag is intrigued by her. He had never met someone who asks why instead of how. Soon, Clarisse
disappears, and is then presumably dead for the rest of the book. Shortly after his disappearance, ...

Beatty supports this by saying since he has read some himself, he can affirm that they are worthless
and contradictory. Through this experience, Montag has a new understanding of his profession.
Although he is still skeptical, he knows more than he did before, and most importantly, Beatty has
started to get Montag s mind thinking. An important quote from this conversation is, We must all be
alike. Not everyone born free and equal, as the constitution says, but everyone made equal. . . . A book
is a loaded gun in the house next door. Burn it. This is when Beatty is confiding in Montag, making
him finally piece together what he has been doing all of these years as a fireman. He finally can begin
to comprehend the society he is in, and what measures the government has taken to subdue the
population. Later on in the book, Beatty and Montag face each other once more. After Montag is
brought to his own house and told to burn it down, and facing no escape due to the hound, he burns it
down. After burning down his own home, Beatty tells him he is under arrest, and begins to provoke
him. As Beatty clearly intended, Montag kills him, turning him into a charred corpse. The fact that he
died by fire, and knowingly chose to die by the flamethrower is interesting. Nevertheless, this is the
point of no return for Montag, knowing that he did what he had to do, and that he was now an enemy
of the state. At this point, Guy

Decision Making Process Paper
Sales in my department have fallen significantly in the last 3 months. It is time to address this issue
head on and re prioritize our decision making process to help improve sales. Listed below is a decision
making model that will help the cleaning supply organization prioritize short and long term goals. This
may seem like an ambitious process, but it is crucial to stop the negative sales trend. I believe many of
these plans will prove beneficial to our team in the future. Decision making process for the cleaning
supply organization 1) Define a short term sales strategy to stabilize the business. 2) Hire an outside
agency to collect information and conduct customer satisfaction surveys for product insight. 3) Layout
all options for future growth from data collected. 4) Make a decision on long term sales strategy,
reducing jobs, and future investments in new supplies to improve profitability. 5) After implementing
strategic plans, evaluate, follow up and change or alter strategy as business demands. This model is
clear and concise; as should be the decisions we make to turn our business around. The decisions
made will in some instances be difficult, but necessary. Since it is good principle not to make
decisions in the absence of critically important information that is not immediately at hand (Adair,
2013), we should ensure all sales figures and business facts are present before making decisions. You
will need to open your mind into wide focus to consider

overall economy. In the United States, health care is technologically advanced but expensive. Health
care costs were about $2.6 trillion dollars in 2010. For decades, the amount of money spent on health

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Smoking
In today s world, many people are addicted to cigarettes. According to the data, there are about 1.1

men and 12 percent of women worldwide smoke. In this environment, there are so many people who
have to do with lung diseases, especially lung cancer, which is already the highest rate of cancer in
many countries where people smoke so heavily, such as China. So, there are so many people are
wondering whether forbid smoking is a good way to protect the health of the community. According to
what I have collected all the data view, smoking bans have advantages and disadvantages.
First, the smoking ban can play a very important role in personal health. As known, tobacco smoke
contains at least three kinds of dangerous chemicals: the tar, nicotine and carbon monoxide, tar is
made up of several kinds of material blending material, will be concentrated into a viscous material in
the lungs. Nicotine is an addictive drug that is absorbed by the lungs, primarily affecting the nervous
system. Carbon monoxide reduces the ability of red blood cells to transport oxygen throughout the

Male circumcision is performed for either medical or religious purposes. There is a significant amount
of controversy regarding to the benefits and complications of male circumcision, therefore, it is a

Introduction
Circumcision is a surgical removal of the prepuce (the foreskin), which is a highly innervated and
vascularized section of penile tissue that provides both protection and motorization to the glans penis.
One of the main medical indication for circumcision is phimosis that is unresponsive to

  • 2. World War I And The Treaty Of Versailles Have you ever wondered why World War II happened despite World War I being the war to end all wars? World War I lasted four years and was very gruesome. Much of the Western Front was destroyed and about 10 million people died. Germany ended the war by ceasing fire and making an armistice on November 11, 1918. The Allied Power had successfully defeated the Central Powers and America had accomplished their goal to end the war. After the surrender from Germany, the Allied Power met up to make a treaty with Germany, however, Germany was not invited to come and negotiate. The Treaty of Versailles would soon be created and it would put most of the blame of World War I on Germany. The Treaty of Versailles contributed to the onset of World War II ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There were four main leaders during the Versailles Conference and they were: Woodrow Wilson, George Clemenceau, David Lloyd George, and Vittorio Orlando. Each of them had major goals that would benefit them since the war was on their land. Vittorio Orlando, the Prime Minister of Italy, worked to get the extra land for Italy. Originally, they would not have been able to do this since Italy was originally an ally of Germany, but they switched over to the Allied Powers in 1915 and declared war on Germany. Italy was promised land as a reward for helping out and switching over to the Allied Powers. David Lloyd George, the Prime Minister of Great Britain, asked for justice and not for revenge. He wanted Germany to pay for the damages done to Britain s military, Germany s colonies, and for Gremany to be stipped of its navy. He also helped Wilson and Clemenceau compromise. George Clemenceau, the Prime Minister of France, wanted both revenge and to punish the Germans. He wanted Germany to pay for the damage done during the war and to weaken Germany so that they could never invade France again. He also wanted Germany to give up Rhineland, Alsace Lorraine, and the Saar. Lastly, he wanted Germany to be totally and permanently disarmed so that it could not attack other nations. Woodrow Wilson, the President of the United States of America, just wanted to end the war by making a fair peace treaty. He devised the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Analysis Of The Mid 70 S The mid 70 s became the climax in allowance for different family situation. Unlike the 50 s and 60 s where women played minor roles as housewives, the 70 s presented a new kind of role for females: single moms. Sitcoms such as The Partridge Family, focused on the mother figure and displayed the roles she undertook as both a mother and a father. Comparing The Partridge Family to a modern sitcoms such as Ben Kate, these shows share a male characters that fills in the father figure gap and the struggle both mothers face as single parents. On the other hand, they differ in the child s rebellion due to their void in a paternal figure. The show may centralise on a single mother, however, there will always be a male figure present to take the place of the father. Rabinovitz notes that in spite of the sitcom revolving around a single mom, a male figure, whether if it was a relative of the mother or an unsuitable mate for the mother, is incorporated into the show as a male representation for the child. In The Partridge Family, the band s manager was the closest father figure the five children had. In Ben Kate, Ben is the father figure of his niece Maddie. How these characters fulfil their father figure duties are similar as well. In the Partridge Family, the children spend most of the time with their mom and Reuben Kincaid, the manager of the band. Although Ruben regularly clashed with the children because of his grumpy attitude, he took on the paternal role of being present ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Popularity Of Professional American Football While the Popularity of professional American football has grown to unbelievable numbers across of America, the effects on the brain health of the game s players have led to people asking if it is worth it. The sale of professional football jerseys, t shirts, hats and other clothes are making teams very rich. On any given Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday night, it is not hard to find groups of people that have gathered to enjoy the game of professional American football. All of this is taking place in a time where concussion or head injuries have begun to gain attention at every level of the game. As more and more games are being played, we are beginning to see more and more concussion injuries on the playing field. While we think that this would scare people, the popularity of the game continues to be at great levels. The Birth of the Game of American Football The National Football League (NFL) is the professional football league that most people recognize as the giant of American football. However, the game did not begin with a professional level. The first ever game of football that was played happened on the college level on November 6, 1869. It took place in New Brunswick, New Jersey and was a game that put Rutgers University against Princeton University. The two schools are located only 20 miles from each other. At that time, players were not allowed to pass the football in the air or run with it down the field. The only way to move the ball down the field was by batting the ball or dribbling it kind of like you were playing soccer. There were no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Male Response to the Female Form Essays Male Response to the Female Form Every action has a reaction. All human beings react to certain situations in certain ways. Little children cringe at the sight of brussel sprouts, people cry at sad movies, and everyone laughs at jokes. How do men react when they are brought before the nude female form? What is the basis for their reactions? Do people change personalities when exposed to this? I have tried to learn the mysteries behind these questions, and brought myself to many conclusions. The explanations of these questions answers are not short and simple. They are in fact very complex. To sum up the topic, there is not just one reaction, and this depends on many key factors. All people change, from a tiny bit to a drastic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All details of the setting, behavior, actions, and reactions must be noted. The first place of observation was a nudist village in Clearwater, Florida by the name of Paradise Country Club. Men and women walk around with as little amount of clothing on as one desires. Most people walking around are totally nude and people carry on their usual routines like this. The first thing I noticed was that the males had no apparent sexual attraction to the females. Physically the males were relaxed and their penises were not in an erected form. There was no staring, awkward looks or sexual gestures. Everyone who had chosen to be nude was totally comfortable around each other. Dennis Kirkpatrick, a nudist who maintains the rec.nude FAQ s website, claims that #8230;For hundreds of years, people have assumed a connection between nudity and sex after all, the only time many people are nude, other than while bathing, is during sex. Naturists reject this assumption. Nudity does not automatically lead to sex and, incidentally, you can have sex with your clothes on. The two are quite simply not related #8230; One individual who accompanied me too this site, person L, had been here many times and also quite comfortable there. He was not naked but did not think twice about the people who were. Nudism or Naturism is not a totally common thing in the United States, but does exist. It is not for sexual purposes, but ... • 6. Hamlet In Hamlet Immediately after Claudius takes the throne, Hamlet can perceive the perversion of the court. O, that this too, too sallied1 flesh would melt,/Thaw and resolve itself into a dew! (Shakespeare, 1.2.129 130). According to Dodsworth, an instinctual revulsion does not account for Hamlet s feeling of self disgust. In English society at the time, Hamlet s unusual family situation was not definitively incestuous. He claims that Hamlet s (and the Ghost s) complaint of incest is subordinate to the larger issue of loss of honor (Dodsworth, 46 47). I propose, however, that this shame is more deep rooted; a result of the collective depravity. Of all the characters in the play, Hamlet is the most aware of the presence of sin in the court. ...To die: to sleep; No more; and by a sleep to say we end The heart ache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to, tis a consummation (Shakespeare, 3.3.59 63). In Hamlets understanding, death is an escape from the pain of life: these pains, like heart ache are natural and native to the body. All humans feel pain as it is an infection inherent to the flesh. Hamlet contends that the distorted life they are living is a permanent, unalterable destiny. You should not have believed me; for virtue cannot so inoculate our old stock but we shall relish of it (3.1.115 116). He realizes that, even if virtue is enacted, even if good deeds are done, the Old Adam will not die. Later in the same scene, when Hamlet is speaking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Universal Truth In Faust By Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe Wolfgang von Goethe was a German writer and polymath back in the 1800s. Goethe is considered the supreme genius of modern German literature. Although he was alive so long ago, the ideas he put out there are still pertinent to the modern world. Goethe s quote is a universal truth and his philosophy is even proven. Until one is committed there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation) there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help that would never have otherwise occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The poem has many different aspects that can be analyzed in interpreted. These different aspects of Faust emphasize the greater nature of good versus evil. These aspects include the time period of what Goethe set the play and the time he wrote the play, the setting gives a greater portrait of the conflicts that arise, and the plot gives the enhancement of right and wrong. The characters, for instance, has the natural antagonist, the Devil (qtd. In Bierhorst, 2010). In different religions, the Devil has many different names, such as Lucifer, Satan, The Wicked One, or The Arch Fiend. Due to Goethe s natural culture as a German, he naturally names the Devil as Mephistopheles, or in short, Mephisto. Mephisto is the antagonist in the poem because he tries to move Faust in the direction of evil and temptation. As the antagonist, he eventually is defeated by an element he is unaware of, love. Mephisto creates his own doom, by presenting Faust a woman that he will eventually love. Mephisto tried to tempt Faust into lust because he wanted Faust to surrender his soul to him. So in order for Mephisto to succeed in his goals, he was supposed to meet all of Faust s desires. Unfortunately, the one desire Faust wanted, backfires on Mephisto s plan. The next character in Faust is Faust himself. He is naturally the protagonist in the short poem. Faust is a known physician in his town and learned as many traits as he could. Unfortunately, his human desire of greed had consumed his mindset. Even though he accomplished all that he wanted, he eventually turned to evil or magic and made a pact with the devil. In the first act of the poem, he seems to have the intentions of more of the antagonist; more evil doing rather than ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Celtic Life Essay Upon hearing the term Celtic, the first things that come to mind are the awe of their intricately patterned jewelry, lively music, and the flowing tunics they wore. These people are also known for being fierce warriors and for their superstitious, nature centered religion. Celtic customs are still alive and well in places like Ireland and the western reaches of Britain, but within this essay I shall explore their origins and traditions. To start off, I will address the Tumulus peoples. They were among the growing number of societies whom spoke dialects that branched off of Indo European; a language originating in, and spread from, the border between the continents of Asia and Europe. The Tumulus, among other groups and tribes, began ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the very beginning the pro Celts established that their society was that of warriors, spending much of their time warring with other groups and taking territories. They gained an advantage in their warfare and trade alike once horses became commonly used in Celtic society. The increased mobility put them a notch above the rest; helping the Celts in their invasions and defense. In the 7th and 8th centuries BC, their boundaries kept pushing into lands which today would be called Germany and France. Sizeable hilltop forts were built to maintain the people whom the Celts took power over. As time went on and lands were conquered, typical burial procedures morphed. Because of having such a war centered life, they began burying the dead with their swords to commemorate them for the gritty effort they contributed to their people. Supplies such as wagons, good pottery, and food were also stowed away with the bodies in order for them to have a well prepared afterlife. Chiefs, in particular, were buried with special bronze urns and multiple swords. Towards the 8th century BC, as the Iron Age dawned, warriors began to be buried with sturdier iron weapons. Wooden chambers replaced cremation urns more and more often as the 7th century moved into the 6th century BC. Items such as swords and eating implements were still included. In some burial ... • 9. Puritanism In America Today Puritanism was a set of beliefs that sprang up after the Protestant Reformation. This was especially focused on self indulgence and sex. Puritanism should not to be practiced in America today because of all the negative effects it had created , such as being the enemy of freedom in the twentieth century, portrayal of sexuality of the human body, and the search for religious freedom, while being intolerant to other religions. One of the reasons why Puritanism should not be practiced in America today is because it was the enemy of freedom in the twentieth century. In The Hypocrisy of Puritanism Emma Goldman states, It repudiates as something vile and sinful, our deepest feelings: but being absolutely ignorant as to the real functions of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The nudity of woman was excessively used which made people forget the significance of the human body, especially for females. Emma Goldman herself writes, Thus Freud believes that the intellectual inferiority of so many women is due to the inhibition of thought imposed upon them for the purpose of sexual repression (9). Basically, Goldman is saying how many women had became self conscious because there bodies were given such low respect which had made them feel uncomfortable and worthless. Equally important, Puritans searched for religious freedom, while being intolerant to other religions. In the Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God by Jonathan Edwards, he tells people to accept Christianism so they can save themselves. In fact he also says, Therefore, let everyone that is out of Christ, now awake and fly from the wrath to come (101). Edwards states if you are not Christian then god is ready to burn you up, so you better run fast. In short, Puritanism lead to a huge amount of negative effects in America and should not be practiced. Nowadays women are told they are beautiful no matter what size they are. If Puritanism was practiced in America today then there would be judgements in having freedom. Since puritanism has passed, the society has evolved in many ways such as, relationships, religions, women s rights, law, technology, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I will explore the representation of Maori in film and literature through a mana wahine context, directed by leading national and international mana wahine scholars. My aim is to shed light on issues that surround Maori representation and issues within the Maori community. My capstone project aims to give Maori a strong, self affirming voice. I want to reclaim my identity and empower other Maori through my personal account of being Maori in a low socio economic suburb. I believe that representations of Maori are stereotypical, derogatory, and false. Therefore, these images reflect us to the wider community in vast negative lights. Most importantly, these deceitful depictions negatively affect views Maori have of themselves. Professor Linda Tuhiwai Smith is a pioneer of Kaupapa Maori Research. I will compare and contrast what Smith has said in relation to other indigenous women academic s discourse of race and gender such as Bell Hooks, Leonie Pihama, and myself. Although due to this increase with devices, such as phones and computers, people tend to cyberbully since it s the easiest way to gain the victim. Cyberbullying is an act of bullying through devices, threatening or humiliating the victim that is being communicated to. This causes harm to those who fall victim, around twenty percent of these victims tend to think of suicide, and one of ten often commit the act. Due to cyberbullying, school officials should help stand for those deteriorating as a victim, this will then help prevent suicidal acts, suppress depression, and help improve teens to be more cooperative with others in the same situations. Cyberbullying since then became a national problem. Although if school officials take part in helping out with teens, this will prevent suicidal acts among the students. Counseling, just on its own, can help prevent these suicidal thoughts. Due to their careers counselors tend to know how to handle many situations amongst students including that of cyberbullying. By doing their jobs, counselors can not only go to the student being bullied, but engage the students who tend to imply the bullying. This creates programs that ll help the communities to help one another in these situations. With programs being constructed this will benefit the way society will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For real time requirements of multimedia applications faster computations need to be performed. To fulfill such requirements of video compression a parallel computational algorithm can be implemented. In this thesis, the parallelism of multi core architecture was exploited using block matching algorithm. The test implementation of the algorithm was done on MATLAB. The parallel model was designed using OpenMP and its implementation was tested on multi core architectures. The parallel implementation divides a current frame into independent macro blocks and each block is allotted to OpenMP section which then assigns it to a thread for performing the computations. The result of the implementation shows speedier computations with effective utilization of multi cores. This work suggests a promising approach which can further be developed and exploited. • 17. Kinetics Section 1: Kinetics is the study of the rate of chemical processes. The kinetics of the reaction between crystal violet and NaOH was studied. In order to monitor crystal violet concentration as a function of time, a spectroscopic colorimeter was used. What is the rate law for decolorization of crystal violet? In order to figure this out, the rate of the reaction of crystal violet and sodium hydroxide must be found. In this experiment, the initial goals were to determine the overall rate law for the rate of decolorization of crystal violet in basic solutions as a function of time and to determine the rate law for the reaction including the actual value of k; Rate = k[A]x[B]y. The rate of a reaction was expected to depend on the concentrations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Time) because it had a correlation closest to 1. All three orders were graphed and a linear regression was used to see which graphed order was closest to 1. The order was determined by comparing the concentration and time to the mathematical predictions made using the integrated rate laws. Analyzing each graph and finding each correlation helped determine which graph was closest to 1. The more concentrated a solution is, the higher the absorbance of that solution. This is due to Beer s Law. The law measures the absorbance of a solution by determining how much light passes through a solution. As the concentration of a solution increases, fewer wavelengths of light are able to pass through the concentrated solution. The absorbance at 60 seconds was 0.573 (Figure 1: Table1). To calculate the concentration (molarity), the Beer s Law equation was used, Abs = slope(m)+b. Plugging in what is known into the Beer s Law equation resulted in 0.573 = 3.172e+004 + 0, where the concentration is determined by M = 0.573 0/ 3.172e+004. So, the concentration at 60 seconds using the equation (M = 0.573 0 / 3.172e+004) was 1.824e 5 M. The 1st order graph resulted in k=0.006152 (Figure 1: Graph 1). • 19. The Scope Of Customary International Law Within the scope of customary international law, there are some varying norms that the international law community must deal with, which are broken down into three different categories from most important to least important: 1) norms in which the international community allows no derogation, these are known as peremptory norms or jus cogens, 2) norms that might allow for derogation, and 3) norms that aren t binding but some might argue should be. To classify these customary norms scholars use both state practice and opinio juris. In order to determine state practice the states may look towards each other and how they react in similar scenarios. One debate surrounding this area is determining how many states need to sign off on an action to determine that sufficient state practice is occurring. Two sides of the argument are the actual number states versus the regionalization of the states. Opinio juris is defined as a state engaging in a certain activity because they believe they are under legal obligation to act. The idea of peremptory norms is older than modern international law itself (113). The idea of peremptory norms stems from the belief that certain actions are so heinous that derogation is not allowed. The Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties shows the importance of peremptory norms in both Article 53 and 64. Article 53 states that a treaty is void if, at the time of its conclusion, it conflicts with a peremptory norm. Article 64 explains that treaties, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 24. Women As An Adult Female Person Dictionary.com defines woman as an adult female person. This does justice in simple terms but a woman is much more than simply an adult female person. Women are caregivers and nurturers. We are strong, independent, protective, and driven. We are the electricity that keeps the lights on and the washers of the laundry when their children are too lazy to do it (only because we care, not because it is our duty ). Unfortunately, this is not how women were always seen. We have had to fight hard to get where we are today, and must continue to fight so we can be somewhere new tomorrow. Women were seen as housewives, who cooked cleaned, and cared for the children while their husband was bringing home the bacon. This transferred into the theater as well. Women were expected to always attend with a male escort to one, keep her safe, as theater could easily turn into a riot, and two because attending without a man suggested one was a prostitute. The invention of the matinee performance allotted women the opportunity to attend shows during the day, making it safe from brawls and thieves while also sparing a woman s reputation. Women s participation in public life increased in the later portion of the 1800s, majorly due to the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848, and later in the 1920s due to the Women s Suffrage Amendment of 1920. Had it not been for several close friends of mine, I would have never even seen blockbuster hits such as Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, or Back to the Future. Due to countless positive reviews and the recommendations of friends, I anticipated that it would be a must see for those mature enough to appreciate its commentary on the human condition.
