The Language Of The English Language
The language we speak defines our true identity and who we are. Living in a country where the
main language is English, the Spanish I grew up speaking seem to be conquered by the English
language. Many of us who are bilingual come from a place in where English is not our main and
faced many obstacles to learning the language, but it seems that when we learn the language we
tend to speak English more than our native tongue. Authors like Gloria Anzaldua and Amy Tan
had connected to us the readers in such personal ways where we start to see connections. Gloria
Anzaldua explains in her essay How to Tame a Wild Tongue , how her tongue was not free until
she was able to switch from Spanish to English whenever she wanted to speak with someone or
write in both languages. Additionally, she explores the meaning of Anglicism in her piece which
its significant to me because I come from a background where most, if not all of my family and
friends who grew up in the Dominican Republic and the United States tend to use these words.
Amy Tan s essay Mother Tongue , connects to many of us whose English is their second language,
especially if one s coming from a different country than the USA. As well as to how we need to be
there to assist our parents whenever they need our help with the English language. These authors
show us how the language we speak some way or another defines our true identity and who we are.
Growing up in a place where I did not know the language was very difficult

The Four Gospels Pertaining To The New Testament
The gospel of Luke is one of the four gospels pertaining to the New Testament. The Gospel of
Luke is the most extensive historical account of the life of Jesus. It was originally written for a
certain Theophilus, probably a Gentile of high social standing, and intended to inform him
extensively of the life and work of Christ. Throughout this gospelthe person of Jesusis presented as
the perfect Man who always lived according to the will of God. And the account that Luke offers
us of his life appears divided in two basic parts: the coming to the world of the Son of God and the
return to his glory. It narrates from before the birth of John the Baptist, until the death and
resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In this gospel Luke tells the story of Jesus

Syria Case Study
For almost a decade Syria has not enjoyed peace. The war in Syria has polarized countries in the
Middle East, Europe and the America. The war has led to countries taking sides depending on the
interests of their leaders and the country as a whole. In the process countries from Europe,
America and Asia have entered into a union that they deem fit to promote their agendas (G.
Friedman 2017). This union is what is now known as the axis 1 geopolitics. Even though the
countries may have different individual agendas they have common goals as a group. Their
obligations as a group, are considered to outweigh the personal goals. Moreover, the individual
goals can be achieved through achieving the group goals (G. Friedman 2017).

The uniting factor among these states is the fact that they want to control the nuclear plants within
Iran (T. Friedman 2017).
For any war to take place there must be an enemy or an opponent. On the other side of there is the
Russian republic, China, Iran, and Syria. This is the so called axis 2 countries. These countries hate
the neo colonialization practiced by the United States of America. They hate the fact that the
United States has imposed itself as the leader and savior of the whole world. To balance the
power, China and Russia have continuously used their veto power to shut down United States
initiatives, such as embargos and trade banns on their allies (T. Friedman 2017). Russia and
China seek to move away from the shadow of the so called big brother. In doing so they have
initiated financial programs that will enable them to stop using the famous dollar in trade. In fact,
the Russian apex bank has stopped including the dollar in its forex trading (G. Friedman 2017).
The union is angered by the United States behavior of being the judge and executioner in their
human and democracy issues. They are against the toppling of governments as these lead to
instability and creates a power vacuum that has always lead to massive losses. Except in Tunisia the
other countries that experienced the infamous Arab uprising, have not had any meaningful peace.
Learning from these experiences, Russia and China wants to maintain the stability in

Nemo Nobody (Jared Leto, Toby Regbo, Thomas Byrne, Noa De Costanzo) can see the result of
every choice he makes before he makes it. While he s standing at a train station he must decide
between running for his mother or staying with his father. This decision will make him live out
many alternate timelines. Mr. Nobody is currently 117 years old and tells his life story during
three major moments in his life: at age nine when his parents get divorced, age fifteen when he
first falls in love, and age thirty four when he s married and has children. Although some may find
Mr. Nobody, written and directed by Jaco Van Dormael, too strange or confusing, the captivating
plot and complex themes leave the audience with an important message about the choices people

Recitatif Toni Morrison Summary
It is the expectation of this paper to take a gander at Toni Morrison as an author and how she
communicated her political perspectives through fiction. The short story by Ms. Morrison
Recitatif , written in 1983. She has turned into the voice for the Black American experience.
Recitatif is the narrative of two ladies one dark and one white. From the earliest starting point of
the story the peruser can get on racial pieces of information and arrive at this conclusion. The
one thing precluded in this story is which one white and which one is dark. This where the
peruser s own particular racial biases may come in. On page 210, it states we looked like salt and

race of the two young ladies. The creator forgets the racial character of the two young ladies. She
is testing the peruser to take after her intimations all through the story. The peruser s own racial
predispositions may impact which young lady they was dark or white. There are a few references to

is additionally Roberta, who does not need her youngster dispatched crosswise over town to go to

Roberta would not need her child to go to a school that her child went to. It is through barring their

Strategic Alternatives: Alternative 1 Optimise Social Media Strategy and introduce Online Store on
www.decathlon.com.ch Pros: In order to create positive brand experience, become the leader in the
Chinese sporting goods market and develop customer trust, powerful social media strategy was
needed to help the brand to increase its presence online through optimised social media channels
like Renren, Kaixin001 and 8264.com to create online community, promote its products and
compete powerfully with its rivalries. Chinese consumers of sporting goods are very socially active
online. They like to purchase products while consulting with others. Social media outlets are perfect
to create positive buzz around the brand and strengthen the it s reputation online as well as
introduce the customer to purchasing the product on line through www.decathlon.com.ch by
creating the same look and feel as in retail store. Taobao, being the biggest retailer in China, has
high consumer stickiness due to its bargain prices, stellar customer service, high level of trust
among consumers, is uniquely positioned to optimise sales of Decathlon products online. Cons:
Managing multiple social media outlets in a timely manner can be costly and time consuming.

Why a Resistant strand of Group A Streptococcus is Causing Problems in Children and Becoming
Resistant to Antibiotics
Abstract: Streptococcus is a bacteria that has been evolving through the recent centuries. A new
form of these bacteria from group A streptococcus is becoming resistant and creating a whole new
kind of this disease. The new form of this disease is twenty seven percent resistant to the antibiotic
and is causing pneumonia meningitis in children. The new cures being created to fight against
these bacteria are great except for that the new vaccine has no effect on children. Researches have
finally found a vaccine that is effective on children because of a protein that is attached to the

There are three kinds or groups of streptococcus A, B, and C group. Group A streptococcus are
known as streptococcus pyogenes, which are also known as S pyogene. In 1884 the organism was
named s pyogene by the scientist Rosebach (Sat Sharma MD, 2004). Though the bacteria wasn t
named till 1884 it was first described by Billroth in 1874. Streptococcus is known to cause the
diseases rheumatic fever, scarlet fever, tonsillitis, pneumonias, sinusitis, and
Streptococcus Group A 2 ear infections (American Academy of Otolaryngology). There are
antibiotics for these diseases, but over the years they have been becoming more resistant.
Streptococcus is becoming more resistant to antibiotics. Over a period of three years from
September 1, 1993 to August 31, 1996 a study was done on children suffering from the resistant
group A streptococcus (Dr. Arditi, 1999). This new group A strain caused children pneumococcal
meningitis. Researches looked at eight different hospitals in the United States and one hundred and
eighty cases within these three years. The study was designed to look at clinical presentation,
hospital course, and the outcome from the children being cured. As they watched and monitored the
children s progress on the different antibiotics used to cure streptococcus. Also the researchers has
to take into consideration if the streptococcus was becoming resistant, which antibiotics were given
as treatment, and from those antibiotics which streptococcus became

The U.s. Space Program
The U.S. space program began in a country very far from the United States. In fact, the program s
roots were seeded in Germany during WWII. A young German man by the name of Werner von
Braun became obsessed with rocketry and space travel after reading numerous books by Jules
Verne and Hermann Oberth. He completed a Ph.D. in physics and went to work for the German
Army developing ballistic missiles. Dr. von Braun s most notable contribution to WWII was his V
2 rocket. The V 2 was a liquid fueled rocket standing 46 feet tall and carrying a ton of explosives.
It was capable of traveling to the outer reaches of the Earth s atmosphere before returning to its
target. After the end of WWII numerous countries saw the military and civilian applications of the
V 2 and therefore, sought to capture the technology. While both Russia and the U.S. captured
parts of the V 2, the U.S. got the most important part, Werner von Braun. Operation Paperclip was
a covert operation towards the end of the war conducted by U.S. and British Special Forces with
the main objective of capturing German scientists. In all, 1,600 German scientists and workers
were captured and brought back to the U.S. and Great Britain. Among the captured scientists was
Werner von Braun. He was brought to the White Sands Proving Grounds in New Mexico where he
worked on developing the first ballistic missile, the Redstone rocket. Eventually, Dr. von Braun
would go on to lead the U.S. space program.

Absolutely no software cost:
Computer requires both the hardware and software for its smooth functioning. The computer
software costs more than the hardware, therefore, many users have been deprived of buying it.
Instead, they resort to use the illegal version of the software. This does not give them any legal right
to own, distribute or use the product in the open environment.
2. No virus attacks:
We often complain of many viruses on our computer, this causes the computer to be formatted at
least once a month. Besides this, we are constantly targeted by the spammers. This is primarily due
to, the 90% of the computer users highly depend on the commercial softwares for their daily
activities. Only the 10 % of the users depend on the open source applications. Therefore, all the
spammers and viruses aim at destroying the majority of computers.
Thus, there will always be a less scope for hackers for targeting the open source applications.
Let us take an example from Microsoft, every one of us uses the Windows as our preferred
operating system. We constantly receive warnings from spammers, viruses and other notifications
about the problems with our illegal versions of Windows. During such occasions, we can neither

In like manner, Jane Eyre contained a gloomy setting that follows throughout the novel. The first
main indication of Jane Eyre being a Gothic Romance was when Jane was living at Gateshead

Million Dollar Band Research Paper
Alabama s Million Dollar Marching owes its success to its directors, various sections, and the
upbringings of the band. The band s first conductor, Colonel Carleton Butler, began the band as a
military band in 1914. He was nicknamed the Father of the Million Dollar Band . His music style
included high paced tempos with quick stepping to elaborate maneuvers. Accuracy and style were
the key points to all his performances. He has won many awards such as being given the title of
Honorary Colonel in the Great State of Alabama by Governor John Patterson in 1959. Butler s most
outstanding achievement was being elected the first president of the newly founded Alabama

He previously worked as a band director at the University of Mississippi. He heard that Alabama s
band was struggling financially due to only having less than 125 members and wanted to lend a
hand. He based his music selection on what he called The Trifecta. The Trifecta consisted of
music Ferguson thought was worth playing, music students liked, and music he liked. He left
the band in 1984 to pursue a career in the computer software business. The band had around 225
musicians and 35 to 40 color guard members and majorettes, which gave the band its nickname
Fat Albert. James Ferguson left the band with the words, I was interested in music being played
well by young people...I wanted people at the game to enjoy watching the band and be proud of
it... Today, the band consists of 400 members, divided into sections by instrument sound. The
most important part of the band are the drum majors. The drum majors jobs include leading
rehearsals five day a week, organizing Saturday s pep rallied, and bonding with their fellow band
members. They also must be in control of the football game. This means they must know what is
going on in the game at all time, in order to call for the appropriate songs or stadium cheers. The
most difficult part of their job is providing their fans with the level of excellence and finesse that

Qualities of Leadership Essay
The dictionary defines leadership as a critical management skill; it is the ability to motivate a
group of people toward a common goal. These qualities will help you develop your skills as a

Banned from boxing and stripped of his title, Ali stays in the spotlight, speaking against the war.
He always said what he felt. Ali made comments about the war they were said to be unpatriotic
and if he did not apologize for making the comments he would not be able to participate in the
big upcoming fight. They had him apologize or that s what they though he was going to do but
he did not apologize so they cancelled the fight. He did not believe in wars so he was not going
to support them. He showed leadership in standing up for what he thought was right. His
boldness made him stand out in the crowd he spoke his mind and did not care what anybody

The Cases Of Olga Tellis V. Bombay Municipal Corporation...
The cases of Olga Tellis v. Bombay Municipal Corporation and Republic of South Africa v.
Grootboom both dealt with the issue of socio economic rights and their enforceability by the
courts. Olga Tellis saw the affirmation of a right to livelihood as part of a broader right to life.
While Grootboom saw the Court strongly rebuke the government by ruling that it had not been
meeting its section 26 (2), specifically because no strategy was being implemented to aid those in
desperate need of housing like Grootboom. The two landmark cases provide wider insights into
how each country s court engage with socio economic rights. This essay will argue that the South
African approach to the enforcement of socio economic rights is much stronger than... Show more

The one exception to this trend was the Ahmedabad case, where the Court said that Article 38, 39,
and 46 of the Constitution gave the State obligations to distribute its largess in the hopes of
improving the quality of life of the poor. However, much like with Olga Tellis, those living in the
slums were not granted any real aid by the Court. Even with regards to the right to a livelihood, it
has been pointed out that there was no actual expansion upon what exactly that right entails. So
while there is engagement with the idea of socio economic rights, as Olga Tellis shows, there is
very little impetus to actually take steps towards enforcing those rights.
In Grootboom the Court was faced with the issue of a group of displaced squatters, who felt that
their rights under sections 26 (everyone has right to adequate housing) and 28 (1) (c) (every child
has right shelter) were being violated. The Court s ruling found that the government was not
meetings its obligations under sections 26 (2) of the Constitution, which required that the state
take measures to increase access to housing; specifically the Court noted that the state had
especially failed in providing any sort of aid to those poor who were in desperate need of places to
live. Thus the Court issued an order declaring that the state devise and implement a program to

I am motivated to receive a higher education. Drive, that is what all of these individuals have in
common. Something in our lives lead us down the path to better our educationit was a tough road
but being motivated kept us going. In Malcom X s short story, A Homemade Education, it talks
about how Malcom was in prison and how he wanted to better his vocabulary and writing so he
could effectively write letters to people. One of the quotes he writes about his frustration trying to
explain what he means in his writings. I became increasingly frustrated at not being able to express
what I wanted to convey in letters that I wrote, especially those to Mr. Elijah Muhammad. In the
street, I had been the most articulate hustler out there I had commanded attention when I said
something. But now, trying to write simple English, I not only wasn t articulate, I wasn t even
functional (Malcom 437). When I decided to go back to school, I struggled with learning Algebra
and I felt like I wasn t even functional. Much like Malcom, I began trying to understand Algebra by
thinking about what the problems were and trying to work through the problems. He explained how
he practiced writing repetitively from the dictionary to learn and how he would wake up and would

The Concept of Comparative Advantage
The comparative advantage The concept of the comparative advantage was first coined in 1817 by
economist David Ricardo, in his On the principles of political economy and taxation. The
underlying idea of the comparative advantage theory is that the countries possess different
resources and capabilities and they can produce some specific items in a more efficient manner than
other countries can produce the same items, or more efficiently that the same country can produce
other items. In such a setting then, the countries would best decide to produce the items for which
they possess a comparative advantage, and then exchange them within the international market
place, for items for the production of which they do not possess a comparative advantage (Pullen,
2006). Today, the application of the comparative advantage is revealed mostly at the level of the
leading economic powers in the world, who seek to create advantages in terms of exports, and as
such maximize their gains (Acharya, 2008). The concept and application of the comparative
advantage theory has raised vast interest throughout the past century, and this interest is revealed at
both theoretical and well as practical level. Furthermore, as the modern day society becomes more
and more engaged in globalization and market liberalization, the application of the comparative
advantage theory is gaining more momentum. Within the economic literature for instance, various
researchers have approached the issue of the

The Diary Of Alne Frank And The Diary Of Anne Frank
The Outsiders is a novel about a fourteen year gang member Ponyboy, who lives in Tulsa,
Oklahoma, and his struggles as a greaser and his relationship with his brother. The Diary Of Anne
Frank play is a fictional adaptation about the life of Anne Frank in the Secret Annex during World
War II. Both texts illustrate the theme that people become more mature after experiencing and
going through a difficult time.
The Diary of Anne Frank shows the changes in behavior and maturity for the main character,
Anne, as she stays in the annex for two years. In Act I, Anne was more energetic and playful as a
thirteen year old. Act I Scene 3 highlights Anne s playful and clumsy behavior by talking about
her pranks. On page 552, it states Anne: Who cares if it s dignified? I don t want to be dignified.
Mrs. Frank: [To Anne] You complain that I don t treat you like a grownup. But when I do, you
resent it (Goodrich and Hackett 552). This shows that Anne is not ready to be treated like an adult.
She dislikes when her mother expects her to be mature and she has a teenage mentality. She does
not care that her behavior is not dignified and mature. She wants to have fun and frolic, much like
what a child would want. Therefore, in the beginning of Act I, Anne acts childish and immature.
However, in Scene 4 of Act II, it mentions how Anne has matured. She is no longer a child, but a
woman with courage to meet whatever lies ahead (634). This quote shows that change that Anne
has gone through as a

this in terms of fairness in sentencing?
Judges allocation of outcomes is constrained by a diversity of factors; race has no weight on

criminal history. The judgehas to consult the Constitution and a group of statutes and court rules

The Navajo Nation Clean Water
Project Summary The Navajo Nation reservation covers parts of New Mexico, Utah, and Arizona
making it the largest Native American Reservation in the country. However, this vast land has
little infrastructure for moving the water supply from one area to another, coupled with a long
lasting drought diminishing water reserves and the contamination of some water sources from
industrial mining, the Navajo Nation faces severe limited access to clean water (1). Without
natural sources of clean water or the ability to easily move water to those in need, the Nation
must rely on hauling water large distances at great expense to the tribespeople (2,3). This strain
can have far reaching impacts on the Navajo tribespeople s health, including direct health
outcomes such as heavy metal poisoning, transmission of bacteria, and dehydration, and indirect
outcomes including poverty and forced migration to areas of more water (4).The Navajo Nation
Clean Water Initiative will work to eliminate these adverse public health outcomes. In order to
address the issue of clean water availability, the objectives must address multiple levels of the
social ecological model simultaneously. Three overarching objectives will be addressed. 1) The
current public water system must increase in capacity. The current public water system is small
and up to 40% of households do not have access to the public water system (2). 2) Due to the rural
nature of the population, expansion of the current system should begin

Explain The Musculoskeletal And Energy Systems P1
P1 describe the musculoskeletal and energy systems response to acute exercise
Musculoskeletal
The musculoskeletal allows the body to function through a group of muscles, bones, tendons,
cartilage and ligaments. The body moves through different muscle contractions. This makes the
bone pull towards the contracting muscles. The skeletal system provides a structure for the body,
while the muscular system creates movement in the bones of the skeletal system by contracting and
relaxing. When exercising, the muscles increase in pliability. This is when the muscles become
more pliable as they become warm, reducing the chance of getting an injury. They become more
pliable as the muscles contract really fast when exercising. The contractions generate heat take
makes the muscle more pliable.
Energy Systems
The body uses different energy systems depending on the duration of the exercise. If the exercise is
for a long period, the body will use the aerobic energy system. This system produces the most
energy for the body, using oxygen. An example of an exercise that uses... Show more content on

This system creates energy without using any oxygen, meaning lactic acid will be created as a
waste product. It is the fastest in creating energy in the body, but can only be used for a short
amount of time. It is mainly used in events that last up to 30 seconds. And example of someone
using this is a sprinter. This is because they need energy quickly as they are sprinting at high speed
and it only lasts for around 10 seconds.
One other energy system the body uses is the phosphocreatine system. It creates energy
immediately as creatine phosphate is a high energy compound. It is used when the exercise is at a
high frequency or when the body needs energy instantly. An example of this energy system in use is
in football. When the footballer suddenly needs to sprint, he needs the energy immediately.

Coming Of Age By Margaret Mead
Through Margaret Mead s ethnography, in the book Coming of Age in Samoa, we learn about
the lives of women in Samoan culture. Young girls of Samoan culture have very little freedom in
the beginning of their lives. Girls are expected to take care of the infants in their families until
there is a younger and more capable girl that can provide care. Taking care of the babies in the
familyis a Samoan girl s main responsibility as a child. The author further explains, She also
develops a number of simple techniques. She learns to weave firm square balls from palm
leaves, to make pin wheels of palm leaves or Frangipani blossoms...But in the case of the little
girls all of these tasks are merely supplementary to the main business of baby tending (Mead 20).
At a young age women are expected to attain skills in certain household tasks that help provide
towards their Samoan families.
Weaving is a household task that a Samoan girl is required to learn and become very skilled at.
She learns different techniques and styles of weaving which help Samoan families throughout
their everyday duties. Usually the older women of the household teach the younger girls how to
weave. When a girl is 13 or 14 she is expected to weave a fine mat. The fine mat represents the high
point of Samoan weaving virtuosity (Mead 24). This fine mat takes about 1 to 2 years to
complete. Often these fine mats are not finished until a girl is about 19 or 20 years of age. It is

The Hispanic market in particular is the fastest growing group of people in the United States,
and being able to successfully advertise to them is key in seeing a business succeed. The current
market size for the Hispanic population makes up 17 percent of the United States Total
population, this is around 53 million people as of 2012. In fact, the United States has the second
largest group of Hispanics in the world behind Mexico. This staggering percentage is predicted to
grow to around 128.8 million people or 31% of the United States by the year 2060. To keep up
with the growing population.
When marketing towards a target demographic, a company needs to look at where the most
people of that demographic reside. The top ten biggest states for the Hispanic Population are:
California, Florida, Texas, New Jersey, Illinois, North Carolina, Colorado, New York, New Mexico
and Arizona. Marketing efforts need to be directed in these states first and foremost to get the most
bang for your buck in terms of the target demographic seeing it.
Marketing Objectives
According to the Miller marketing division, it has a few main areas of focus for its advertising,
before any advertising is done they need to see who is drinking what, after that, sales are looked at
and reports are made to see where and what buyers are buying. They then research the actual
buyers. Finally,

Small Business Deductions Essay
If you own a small business, filing a business tax return can seem overwhelming. Regardless if a
business chooses an entity selection as an LLC or S Corp, both can benefit from small business
deductions as these can help reduce tax debt. If tax season is too time consuming or confusing, you
might want to hire a taxaccountant. These professionals can help lessen your chances of a tax
audit, and are familiar with the IRS rules as they apply to businesses.
Salaries to Independent Contractors
If you hire contract labor, you can deduct this if you paid more than $600. You ll need to issue a
1099 MISC to each independent contractor that you paid $600 or more to in January. This
deduction can help to lower your tax debt by quite a bit, depending ... Show more content on

If you re just starting your company and work out of your home, you can still deduct the space
that is used specifically for business purposes. You ll want to take measurements of your home
office space that is dedicated to business, if you re unsure of the square footage.
Deducting Utility Costs
Your electricity that is used for your business or your office space in your home is also tax
deductible. Mobile phones for business use can also be deductible. If you use a landline in your
home office, you will need a separate line that is solely for business in order to deduct it on your
tax return.
Business Meals
If you meet with clients or customers and have lunches or dinners, keep your receipts because
these are tax deductible. It is not 100 percent deductible, but business meals can add up quickly, so
taking advantage of this IRS deduction can help you on your taxes at the end of the year.
Office Supplies and Furniture

purchase supplies throughout the year. Office supplies along with furniture is tax deductible, so

Motivation Of The Classroom Observation
The teacher observation took place in first grade level classroom at a private school. The lesson
that I observe, was teaching the students about money problems and combining it in real life
situation. The teacher who was educating these children, and which I have observed and
interviewed was Ms. Dana. As I sat in the back of the classroom observing Ms. Dana techniques of
teachingher students, I noticed the way the classroom is set up. Instead of the setting up the
classroom with rows of desks, with few motivational/educational posters, it is filled with
educational posters to motivate her students to work hard. The desks were also were facing each
other, so the students can interact with other students and help one another. I noticed that Ms.
Dana has the desks sit in a circle like way in order to have eye contacts with each individual
student. As I sat quietly observing her, she introduced the lesson she planned for today, and pass out
the materials (money materials) to the students. As she passed out the money materials to the
students, she would ask simple questions, such as, What is this coin, a nickel or dime? and proceed
to let the classroom to answer. Ms. Dana demonstrate the differences between each currency and
proceed to pass remaining materials. She proceed to pull out the math problems she planned, and
draw them on the board. As Ms. Dana was drawing the math problem out, I see the excitement
throughout the classroom as they learningnew things, and using

Descent Of Amida And Twenty Analysis
Two different artists share the same canvas. As trade increases between many countries, the flow of
ideas becomes inevitable to limit. Therefore beliefs and values intertwine from the
Europe and Asia continent. If we focus on the central figures of each painting, we are given two
examples of the interweaving of ideas in art, specifically in religion; Welcoming Descent of
Amida and Twenty five Bodhisattvas (ca. 1336) and Diptych with Crucifixion and Madonna and
Child Enthroned (ca. 1315). Each work was created thousands of miles in distance, with separate
beliefs, and within the century; however, these two works are parallel in structure. Welcoming

Segna di Bonaventura stresses the ropes by the use of texture we see the angels are holding
their garments showing a certain weight they bear. Also, the ropes of the Virgin Mary can be
seen tugging at her legs, again, the use of texture within her ropes to show the silk in the cloth in
a two dimensional realm. The similarities and the differences in both of these works are things
that could be discussed by many different people for numerous hours. Hopefully the examples put
forth are sufficient in proving how these similar works are obviously created by different artists
who lived in diverse countries with similar ideologies; to obtain eternal bless for ones self. Thus,
the artists perceived this bless in their work with the use of iconography, hierarchical scale, and the
icons being use; Jesus, halos, mandalas, and mudra. Also, there are differences with both works
such as, spacing and the use of texture. We can speculate that the worship of idols in both works
can be derived from the romans, in which they idolized their gods with sculptures and figurines.
Therefore, the world however grant, can still be seen as a small place. As both these

History Of Sex Offenders
A sex offender is anyone who is convicted of a sex crime. The crimes that qualify as sex crimes
vary by state, but most states include rape (forced and statutory), sexual assault or battery, child
molestation or any sexual conduct with a minor, production or possession of child pornography,
and attempts to commit any of these crimes. The history of sex offenders has been active since the
1800 s according to author Philip Jenkins. Jerkins explains that in the Middle Ages, children were
constantly coming up missing and he also explains that sex crimelaws have existed as far back as
biblical times with a number of penalties ranging from fines to death for various sexual acts
considered deviant at one time or another in society. (Jenkins, 1998)

An Illegal Mexican Immigrant Immigrants
They slip into the San Diego rail yard furtively, preferably beneath the protective cover of
darkness, jumping fences, eluding guards and dodging two hundred ton locomotives in a
perilous dash for the most elusive of prizes, a free ride to the north. According to Jose Flores, an
illegal Mexican immigrant seeking work in the United States says, To be truthful, I have no idea
of precisely where this train goes, other than it takes us to el norte (Griffin 363+). The fact that
each night literally hundreds of men and women clamber over the barricade is testament to its
ineffectiveness and to the irresistible pull of United States jobs that on average pay eight times
their equivalent in Mexico (Griffin 363+ ). Javier Ortega, a 40 year old auto body repairman
from Guadalajara, says, It doesn t matter how many people, horses, bicycles, helicopters or
planes they use.... People will go. It doesn t matter if the fence is electric (Griffin 363+). These
people carry dreams with them in hopes for a better life. These people are willing to walk day and
night through any desert and any river they come across to achieve the American Dream. Illegal
immigrationbetween Mexico and the United States is a serious situation that needs to be solved. To
better understand this situation, one must analyze the causes and effects and come up with a
solution.

Theme Of Naruse When A Woman Ascends The Stairs
Against the neon backdrop of the high level entertainment business, women inside this floating
world are a glamorous and ambivalent existence in When a Woman Ascends the Stairs, constantly
making an upward endeavour in a modern yet ancient gendered plight. It is noteworthy of Naruse s
exploration of femalepsychological universe in this film, and I would like to construct a fresh
observation concerning his way of representation without putting this film in the established niche
of Naruse cinema or Women s Film (josei eiga) in the first place. Although When a Woman
Ascends
the Stairs passes a feeling on us that the genderrelationship is still under the dominance of male
money even in the westernised upper class of Japan, I argue that through various formal cinematic
techniques, Naruse effectively presents a more notable motif... Show more content on

characters connecting with mizushЕЌbai an exceptional but integral components of Japanese social

The Influence Of The Zeitgeist In The 1960s
Zeitgeist is a word that comes straight from German zeit means time and geist means spirit, and
the spirit of the time is what s going on culturally, religiously, or intellectually during a certain
period. Think about how something like Woodstock symbolized the 1960s: Woodstock was part
of the Zeitgeist of the 1960s. Whatever seems particular to or symbolic of a certain time is
likely part of its Zeitgeist. During every time period or era, there was and is and forever will be
something that will be Zeitgeist representative of the time. The likes of Elvis Presley being the
Zeitgeist of the 1950 s Rock and Roll scene often referred to as The King of Rock and Roll , to
Metallica in my opinion one of the most influential bands of metal and also being one of the most
successful band commercially, all the way to the modern day times where I think we have many
Zeitgeist representatives, for example Justin Bieber and One... Show more content on

Picture Framing Objects
While paintings and photography are among the most popular items many display on their walls,
there is a variety of options available when it comes to decorating walls at home. Trying the unique
souvenirs and heirlooms picture framing objects will give a home a highly personalized and unique
piece of decoration.
A custom frame displays a piece of heirloom jewelry in a very unique way instead of it being
hidden in a jewelry box. If an antique brooch is hand wrapped in a fabric mat and covered with an
ornate gold molding, it will give a very stunning display on the walls of a home.
Similarly, a vintage scarf in a frame that is handcrafted transforms an everyday accessory into a
very beautiful piece of art. These individually owned pieces which ... Show more content on

A collage display due to a wonderful arrangement in a den or in the living room will surely trigger
conversations now and again in many homes.
Picture framing can also be used as a thoughtful personalized gift. If a family loves a particular
music genre, then presenting a picture frame of their favorite artist and present it to a family
member will be a gift of its kind.
This idea is applicable for those people who are extremely rich and have unpredictable gift
preferences. For example a hip hop lover can be given a framed picture of Rick Ross coupled with
his latest music in a simple wood shadowbox. This gift will be considered as a timeless gift that
they will forever cherish and display forever in their study rooms, living rooms and offices.
A wall decoration does not necessarily need to be kept solely for photographs and paintings. If you
are looking to decorate the interior of a house with something different other than oil painting or
watercolor, then picture framing of treasured family memories is a really wonderful way to
transcend a keepsake into a mouth watering piece of

Survivor Fan Culture
Posted on an Internet forum, this comment from a Survivor fan demonstrates a key dynamic of the
fan community constructed around the program. This paper investigates elements of the audience
reception of the American reality TV show Survivor (Mark Burnett Productions for CBS, 2000 ,
US), and the comment above raises the central issue I aim to address here. By exploring the show
in terms of its fanculture and examining the Survivor fandomin relation to existing theoretical and
critical work on fandom, I will argue that through online activity, Survivor fans compete with one
another just as the contestants battle against each other in the weekly challenges on screen. It is
this very sense of competition that I will assert differentiates the... Show more content on

Spoiling practices, changing fan/producer dynamics, and new media and consumerist engagement
with the show has produced a competitive fan culture unique in its apparent anti communal and
decidedly negative undercurrents. What I have described as the often conflictual and competitive
nature of this fan culture or rather the picture of a selected aggregation of fans makes sense if one
considers that these fans didn t originate in a traditionally marginalized subculture (as with earlier
conceptions of sci fi fans, for instance). The Survivor fandom is conflictual because the source of
fans interest isn t the show, but rather the overall fractious and competitive culture itself. Fandom
scholarship and research on the Survivor fandom in particular will require continual analysis of fan
participation and online engagement, as dynamics seem to shift somewhat over time. Scholarship,
too, will need to begin more thoroughly incorporating fans use of new media as I have only

The Sinus Node
The Sinus node is a small bundle of specialised cells located in the right atrium of the which
generates an impulse in the heart. The electrical activity spreads through the walls of the atria and
causes them to contract. This forces blood into the ventricles, which sets the rate and rhythm of the
heartbeat. A pacemaker is needed to maintain an adequate heart rate, either because the heart s
natural pacemaker sinus node is not fast enough or there is a block in the heart s conduction system.
As knowledge of the human body expanded a range of electrotherapeutic experimentations were
conducted by pioneering scientists and physicians. Methods utilized both direct current and static
electricity. It became clear that the heart was an organ especially sensitive to electricity as well
and as early as 1788, attempts were made to treat irregular heartbeats with an electric shock. By
1932, a primitive form of today s pacemaker was invented as a hand cranked device by Albert
Hyman (Engineering and Technology History Wiki, 2015). Hyman s pacemaker was powered by
a hand wound spring driven generator that provided six minutes of pace making without rewinding
(Haddad, Houben and Serdijin, 2006). Today s pacemaker weighs about 28 grams and is
approximately the size of an Australian 50 cent piece (Medtronic n.d.).
The objective of electrical stimulation is to replace natural biological impulses by external artificial
electrical impulses. Electrostimulation is needed when the heart

Introduction
The single most critical problem that the managers are facing today is managing the people. This is
the most challenging issues that every kind of organizations is dealing with now aday.
Organizational behaviour is the study of individual, group and organization as a whole that
examines the effect of organizational structure and culture on organizational performance.
Therefore, it mostly tries to define the performance and efficiency factors of
anorganization.Organizational structure and organizational culture are highly correlated
performance factors. It basically defines the appropriate structure of an organization in order to get
more thanaverage performance. Organizational culture is a primary factor for employee turnover
and job satisfaction (Bolden, 2004). If an organization possesses a strong culture of self respect and
employee affiliation, it is no wonder that the employee retention rate would be very high(Tracy,

Savannah walked into the zoo, the first thing that caught her eye was a monkeythat looked exactly

  • 2. The Language Of The English Language The language we speak defines our true identity and who we are. Living in a country where the main language is English, the Spanish I grew up speaking seem to be conquered by the English language. Many of us who are bilingual come from a place in where English is not our main and faced many obstacles to learning the language, but it seems that when we learn the language we tend to speak English more than our native tongue. Authors like Gloria Anzaldua and Amy Tan had connected to us the readers in such personal ways where we start to see connections. Gloria Anzaldua explains in her essay How to Tame a Wild Tongue , how her tongue was not free until she was able to switch from Spanish to English whenever she wanted to speak with someone or write in both languages. Additionally, she explores the meaning of Anglicism in her piece which its significant to me because I come from a background where most, if not all of my family and friends who grew up in the Dominican Republic and the United States tend to use these words. Amy Tan s essay Mother Tongue , connects to many of us whose English is their second language, especially if one s coming from a different country than the USA. As well as to how we need to be there to assist our parents whenever they need our help with the English language. These authors show us how the language we speak some way or another defines our true identity and who we are. Growing up in a place where I did not know the language was very difficult ... The war has led to countries taking sides depending on the interests of their leaders and the country as a whole. In the process countries from Europe, America and Asia have entered into a union that they deem fit to promote their agendas (G. Friedman 2017). This union is what is now known as the axis 1 geopolitics. Even though the countries may have different individual agendas they have common goals as a group. These countries hate the neo colonialization practiced by the United States of America. They hate the fact that the United States has imposed itself as the leader and savior of the whole world. In fact, the Russian apex bank has stopped including the dollar in its forex trading (G. Friedman 2017). They are against the toppling of governments as these lead to instability and creates a power vacuum that has always lead to massive losses. He completed a Ph.D. in physics and went to work for the German Army developing ballistic missiles. Dr. von Braun s most notable contribution to WWII was his V 2 rocket. The V 2 was a liquid fueled rocket standing 46 feet tall and carrying a ton of explosives. It was capable of traveling to the outer reaches of the Earth s atmosphere before returning to its target. After the end of WWII numerous countries saw the military and civilian applications of the V 2 and therefore, sought to capture the technology. While both Russia and the U.S. captured parts of the V 2, the U.S. got the most important part, Werner von Braun. Operation Paperclip was a covert operation towards the end of the war conducted by U.S. and British Special Forces with the main objective of capturing German scientists. In all, 1,600 German scientists and workers were captured and brought back to the U.S. and Great Britain. Among the captured scientists was Werner von Braun. What creature was it, that masked an ordinary woman s face and shape, uttered the voice, now of a mocking demon, and anon of a carrion seeking bird of prey? (BrontГ« 221). A brief synopsis of Charlotte BrontГ« s novel, Jane Eyre, is present in this short quote, which describes the mystery that is present within the novel. As well as its gothic sensation, romanceis present as well, giving the novel its feminine characteristics. Foreshadowing is a main aspect which helps prolong the suspense in the novel. The element of foreshadowing helps the reader foresee the upcoming events in the novel. These gothic elements create a mysterious plot within the novel, which escalates during the climax. Novels in the Gothic Romance genre include many mysterious events, as well as a twisted love story. Jane Eyre is classified as a Gothic Romance due to its gloomy setting, elements of mystery and suspense, and supernatural components. In like manner, Jane Eyre contained a gloomy setting that follows throughout the novel. The first main indication of Jane Eyre being a Gothic Romance was when Jane was living at Gateshead Hall. When Jane was sent to the red room, imagery was presented which links the room to the idea of death. . . .. it was in this chamber he breathed his last; . . . and, since that day, a sense of dreary consecration had guarded it from frequent intrusion (BrontГ« 8). The one exception to this trend was the Ahmedabad case, where the Court said that Article 38, 39, and 46 of the Constitution gave the State obligations to distribute its largess in the hopes of improving the quality of life of the poor. However, much like with Olga Tellis, those living in the slums were not granted any real aid by the Court. Even with regards to the right to a livelihood, it has been pointed out that there was no actual expansion upon what exactly that right entails. So while there is engagement with the idea of socio economic rights, as Olga Tellis shows, there is very little impetus to actually take steps towards enforcing those rights. In Grootboom the Court was faced with the issue of a group of displaced squatters, who felt that their rights under sections 26 (everyone has right to adequate housing) and 28 (1) (c) (every child has right shelter) were being violated. • 28. The Concept of Comparative Advantage The comparative advantage The concept of the comparative advantage was first coined in 1817 by economist David Ricardo, in his On the principles of political economy and taxation. The underlying idea of the comparative advantage theory is that the countries possess different resources and capabilities and they can produce some specific items in a more efficient manner than other countries can produce the same items, or more efficiently that the same country can produce other items. In such a setting then, the countries would best decide to produce the items for which they possess a comparative advantage, and then exchange them within the international market place, for items for the production of which they do not possess a comparative advantage (Pullen, 2006). Today, the application of the comparative advantage is revealed mostly at the level of the leading economic powers in the world, who seek to create advantages in terms of exports, and as such maximize their gains (Acharya, 2008). The concept and application of the comparative advantage theory has raised vast interest throughout the past century, and this interest is revealed at both theoretical and well as practical level. The Diary Of Alne Frank And The Diary Of Anne Frank The Outsiders is a novel about a fourteen year gang member Ponyboy, who lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and his struggles as a greaser and his relationship with his brother. The Diary Of Anne Frank play is a fictional adaptation about the life of Anne Frank in the Secret Annex during World War II. Both texts illustrate the theme that people become more mature after experiencing and going through a difficult time. The Diary of Anne Frank shows the changes in behavior and maturity for the main character, Anne, as she stays in the annex for two years. In Act I, Anne was more energetic and playful as a thirteen year old. Act I Scene 3 highlights Anne s playful and clumsy behavior by talking about her pranks. On page 552, it states Anne: Who cares if it s dignified? I don t want to be dignified. Mrs. Frank: [To Anne] You complain that I don t treat you like a grownup. But when I do, you resent it (Goodrich and Hackett 552). This shows that Anne is not ready to be treated like an adult. She dislikes when her mother expects her to be mature and she has a teenage mentality. She does not care that her behavior is not dignified and mature. She wants to have fun and frolic, much like what a child would want. Therefore, in the beginning of Act I, Anne acts childish and immature. However, this vast land has little infrastructure for moving the water supply from one area to another, coupled with a long lasting drought diminishing water reserves and the contamination of some water sources from industrial mining, the Navajo Nation faces severe limited access to clean water (1). Without natural sources of clean water or the ability to easily move water to those in need, the Nation must rely on hauling water large distances at great expense to the tribespeople (2,3). This strain can have far reaching impacts on the Navajo tribespeople s health, including direct health outcomes such as heavy metal poisoning, transmission of bacteria, and dehydration, and indirect outcomes including poverty and forced migration to areas of more water (4).The Navajo Nation Clean Water Initiative will work to eliminate these adverse public health outcomes. In order to address the issue of clean water availability, the objectives must address multiple levels of the social ecological model simultaneously. Explain The Musculoskeletal And Energy Systems P1 P1 describe the musculoskeletal and energy systems response to acute exercise Musculoskeletal The musculoskeletal allows the body to function through a group of muscles, bones, tendons, cartilage and ligaments. The body moves through different muscle contractions. This makes the bone pull towards the contracting muscles. The skeletal system provides a structure for the body, while the muscular system creates movement in the bones of the skeletal system by contracting and relaxing. From the stories, I heard that London accommodated the best museums, and other historical places. I planned and decided to take the trip before the first year of my college. I have not traveled alone outside the United States of America so I scheduled the visit to Londonlate October 2014. Before traveling, I bought the travel card via online. I ensured I had paid for my return ticket. This timing turned out to be perfect because my cousin who resides in London invited me to his place, it was an opportunity for me to spend my vacation with him in London. I ensured that I had sufficient cash. After confirming my reservation, I had a mixed feeling of travelling alone. On getting into the aircraft, my heart was panting because I was faced with challenges of unknown fear. I encouraged myself that I can make it down to London without any problem. The plane ride was fun and I arrived to my desired city on a Monday, collected my luggage from the claiming point at Heathrow. My cousin waited patiently to welcome me, as soon as I saw him my heart was filled with joy that I finally made it alone to London. The electrical activity spreads through the walls of the atria and causes them to contract. This forces blood into the ventricles, which sets the rate and rhythm of the heartbeat. A pacemaker is needed to maintain an adequate heart rate, either because the heart s natural pacemaker sinus node is not fast enough or there is a block in the heart s conduction system. As knowledge of the human body expanded a range of electrotherapeutic experimentations were conducted by pioneering scientists and physicians. Methods utilized both direct current and static electricity. It became clear that the heart was an organ especially sensitive to electricity as well and as early as 1788, attempts were made to treat irregular heartbeats with an electric shock. By 1932, a primitive form of today s pacemaker was invented as a hand cranked device by Albert Hyman (Engineering and Technology History Wiki, 2015). Hyman s pacemaker was powered by a hand wound spring driven generator that provided six minutes of pace making without rewinding (Haddad, Houben and Serdijin, 2006). Today s pacemaker weighs about 28 grams and is approximately the size of an Australian 50 cent piece (Medtronic n.d.).
