You encountered a situation which talks about the Arithmetic and Geometric Sequence. Let’s proceed; Arithmetic Sequence is a sequence of numbers such that the difference between the consecutive term is constant. For instance, the sequence 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 … is an arithmetic progression with common difference of 2. For example, the sequence 2, 6, 18, 54, ... is a geometric progression with common ratio 3. How do you find the common ratio of a geometric sequence? To find the common ratio, divide the second term by the first term. Notice the non-linear nature of the scatter plot of the terms of a geometric sequence The domain consists of the counting numbers 1, 2, 3,4, ... and the range consists of the terms of the sequence.
