This document discusses three research questions related to consumer happiness and well-being: 1) What makes consumers happier: experiential or material purchases? Experiential purchases tend to enhance happiness more due to increased social relations and identity. 2) How should consumer happiness be measured? Both hedonic and eudaimonic dimensions should be considered, along with present vs. future focus and positive/negative emotions. 3) What moderates the relationship between consumption and happiness? Social, economic, demographic, and cultural contexts all play a role in consumer happiness.

The Whose Economy? seminars, organised by Oxfam Scotland and the University of the West of Scotland, brought together experts to look at recent changes in the Scottish economy and their impact on Scotland's most vulnerable communities.
Held over winter and spring 2010-11 in Edinburgh, Inverness, Glasgow and Stirling, the series posed the question of what economy is being created in Scotland and, specifically, for whom?

Potential by Tom Adams at Ukraine Country and City Branding ForumUkraineBranding
Presentation by Tom Adams, Chief Digital Officer, FutureBrand Worldwide, at the First International Forum "Ukraine: Country and City Branding", December 8, 2010, Kyiv
Αυτά για το παρελθόν. Τι γίνεται σήμερα; Πώς θα είναι το αύριο; Μπορεί το brand που έχτισαν οι πρόγονοι να προσδώσει κάποια υπεραξία σε επιχειρηματικές κινήσεις από δω κι εμπρός, και σε ποιές από αυτές;

A proposal for the use of learning activity management system (LAMS) to suppo...Sofia Papadimitriou
The integration of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has changed significantly the field of education. Due to the adoption of new technologies, e-learning has been emerged and developed. As a result, distance learning has transformed and new possibilities have appeared. It is remarkable that distance learning became and considered as a scout of the new era in education and contributed to the quality of education. Supporting tutors by advanced learning technologies in distance education is a significant contribution for their effective role in organizational, social and educational context. The Learning Activity Management System (LAMS) is a new proposal to the learning design standard. In this paper, we propose the LAMS exploitation at the Hellenic Open University (HOU) and illustrate a guide to design and develop a sequence of learning activities on “Preparing and producing assignment”. The preparation of the assignments by students is the primary mode of the comprehension of educational materials and an important dimension of teaching students in distance education context, where they are the main responsible for their learning. This proposal highlights the advantages, requirements and constraints concerning the development of learning sequences specifically designed by tutors themselves. They follow the principles of adult learning and development of distance education material, oriented to different educational goals and individual needs of their learners.

The WorldGBC Government Leadership Awards recognize city policies that advance green building. San Francisco won for Best Green Building Policy for its comprehensive set of ordinances. The ordinances require all new construction and renovations to meet standards for energy efficiency, water use, waste diversion and use of green building materials. Existing buildings must undergo energy audits and retrofits. Financial incentives are provided to help building owners implement green upgrades. The policies are estimated to significantly reduce San Francisco's greenhouse gas emissions over time.
