The paper discusses the implementation of software-based traffic separation in Tanzania's access networks, transitioning from traditional hardware-dependent methods to a single hardware solution for more efficient traffic management. By creating logical links for different traffic types within a single physical link, the approach aims to provide differentiated Quality of Service (QoS) guarantees while reducing costs and complexity. The study also details the performance testing of voice, data, and internet services, showing minimal performance difference pre- and post-implementation.
