Resourcing Talent (3RTO)
Activity 1 Word Count: 1272
Identify and assess at least 4 factors that affect an organization s approach to attracting talent.
Market Demand/Supply for Talent:
Depending on the nature of the business, organizations will require various sets of talents (skill,
knowledge and capabilities) that contribute towards the their growth and success. Markets in general
have high supply of some talents and low of others. Based on the talent requirement of the
organization and the market in which it operates, it will have to alter its approach towards attracting
the required talent. This may involve adjusting factors like remuneration, long short term benefits,
career prospects, trainings, etc.

In addition to being cost effective it can also provide incentive for the existing employees to perform
better in their current roles to get promoted quickly. This can have a positive impact on the overall
performance of the organization
Newspaper Ads:
This is a quick and easy way to notify the market about the available jobs in the company and attract a
large number of candidates. Newspaper ads are also less costly compared to using headhunters for
finding the right candidate.
Recruitment Fairs:
Recruitment fairs can be very cost and time efficient, particularly in to fulfill bulk recruitment needs
of the organization. This also gives companies the opportunity to connect with other potential talent
that might not be immediately required by the company, but, helps in building a great talent pipeline
for future talent needs.
Having compiled a list of candidates who are interested in the job, the task now is to select one of
them. Below are some types of selection procedures and their advantages:
Application forms
These provide key information about the candidate in structured and consistent manner that is needed
for a specific position. It speeds up the initial screening process. They can also form the basic starting
point of the personnel record and are generally very easy to use and record.

The Misstep Of Nokia Its Failure
The Misstep of Nokia Which Led Its Failure Introduction
Nokia is well known as a Finnish Corporation which makes quality phones, but at its beginning, it was
just a pulp mill. According to Nokia Website (Our history, 2017), Few companies have Nokia s storied
capacity for transforming, developing new technologies and adapting to shifts in market conditions.
Indeed, Nokia had a successful transformation in business. Nokia was founded in 1865 by a Finnish
engineer, Fredrik Idestam. As a pure mill, paper making was its main business. Then, it gradually
expanded to the business of rubber, cable, power plant, and television (Our story, 2017). It mainly
engages in electronic information technology, multinational communications, and consumer ... Show

Due to the underestimate of the smartphone business, Nokia started to lose its market share and then it
failed in the competition of smartphones. After several years flounder, Nokia s mobile phone business
was acquired by using 7.9 billion dollars by Microsoft in 2013. At that time, Nokia s market share fell
to 2.8% (Pearce, 2016).
Nokia taught a lesson which is opportunity knocks once, and the neighbors do the rest of the time. As
a firm, right decisions should be made at the right time in order to catch the opportunity. Nokia made
wrong decisions while it was facing the opportunity, so it declined year by year. When Nokia missed
the best time for transformation, its day had gone even though it had some right moves. Therefore,
Nokia has been becoming a negative example for other firms.
What are good decisions and bad decisions? Good decisions will lead to good outcomes (Spetzler,
2016). In contrast, bad decisions will cause bad outcomes. Therefore, decision making is important for
a company as they will generally affect the result of the company. In other words, the company can
either profit or loss depend on what kind of decisions are made.
Nokia made some bad decisions, so it reached a bad outcome. In order to find the biggest factor in
Nokia s downfall, the paper will firstly show what mistakes Nokia made caused the result and then
compare which one was the worst decision. Even though Nokia s mistakes have been compared yet,

The Museum Of Glass Art Movement
Robert Clark Palusky, b.1942 Duluth, MN, is a pioneer in the contemporary glass art movement.
A prolific artist, Palusky s career in glass spans four decades. His work is featured in museums around
the world and celebrated in many world class private collections. Most prominent show to date
includes Tête à Tête: Figures Humaines (Ten Masters in Glass) a show featuring Palusky along side
Pablo Picasso, Salvidore Dali, and Jean Arp.
Typically, in order to see Palusky s artwork in person, you would have to travel to museums in
Switzerland, Japan or Spain, or in the U.S. to the Museum of Modern Art or the Corning Museum of
Glass. However, due to sheer luck, Palusky s work is on display right here in Saratoga Springs at the
Equine Gallery at Studio di Luce which benefits The Foal Project (www.foalproject.org). The gallery
is located at 480 Broadway on the main floor right next door to City Hall.
I ve been blessed to know Robert Palusky (Bob) and his wife, Virginia (also an amazing artist in her
own right) for quite some time, and they have been great friends of the Foal Project as well. When the
Equine Gallery opened a few months ago, it only made sense to ask if I could showcase one of his
pieces, to highlight his work, and introduce this remarkable artist to the Saratoga community. I was
honored when he was kind enough to oblige. I had no idea which piece he would agree to send to
Saratoga, however, it was no surprise to discover there was a horse involved.

Effective And Efficiency Related Criteria Construction Essay
Effective and efficiency Related Criteria Construction The overall purpose of thesis as we mention in
the beginning of this chapter is to select the appropriate multi project strategy design, more specific
objective for selecting the suitable strategy design it s important to create a connection between multi
project strategy with multiple criteria decision making.in other word selection multi project strategy
will be as multiple criteria decision making problem. However this section presents the construction of
two types of criteria shown in Figure 4.2 and Figure 4.3 The propose of effectiveness and efficiencies
criteria in order to achieve high profitability ,low cost ,as well as minimize lead time and engineering
hours ,high security and reliability in order to have good quality and low risk. Below in the next
section is brief description and construction of each type of criteria. 4.2.1 Effective Related Criteria
Construction In general the effectiveness of criteria contributes to better project development and
performance as measured by different sub criteria, below a brief description of each criterion: Lead

West Africa Dbq
The development and growth of civilizations in African history were contradicted by several American
and European historians in the sixteenth and early twentieth centuries. The reason for this lack of
understanding is because the focus was mainly on Europe s chaotic society at the time. In addition,
Africa didn t have physically written documents to present their actual history. Instead, it was orally
passed down. This is why historians have falsely concluded that Africa was an uncivilized Dark
Continent. But what does it mean to be civilized? A group of people is characterized as civilized when
they are organized as a society, and able to advance it. Since West and East Africa were able to
develop advanced forms of economy, education, and government, they are characterized as civilized ...

The cultural diversity and advancements portray the progression developed in African history. The
growth of these two subcontinents prove that American and European historians were incorrect on
how advanced and civilized Africa was. The development of West Africa illustrates the advancements
made in several different ways. Based on document #6, the city of Timbuktu acquired an advanced
commercial center. Merchants sold a large quantity of corn, cattle, milk, and other dairy products. The
city also consisted of knowledgeable artisans, including doctors, judges, and priests. It was a great
Muslim educational center with more than 180 schools. The largest school taught more than 25,000
students! Timbuktu was a significant cultural and economic center with a wealthy population. The
advancements made by this city show that the people of West Africa were educated, resourceful, and
skilled in specific fields. Another accomplishment attained by West Africa was the development of
griots. Based on document #2, a griot recounted history and harbored secrets many

Redneck Subculture
Other than goths I think a subculture that really stands out in our culture is the subculture deemed as
redneck, I am not certain what the exact title of this subculture is or should be because it can be pretty
diverse. I was raised in a small farming and mining town so I have seen firsthand how diverse red
necks can be; a redneck can be anything from a dignified rancher to a back woods, alligator wraslin
[sic], moon shine drinking, hillbilly. Webster defines rednecks as, a white person who lives in a small
town or in the country especially in the southern U.S., who typically has a working class job, and who
is seen by others as being uneducated and having opinions and attitudes that are offensive.
(Webster,2016) I think as a general consensus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Typically a redneck would be participating in manual labor jobs such as, working on ranches or farms
where is most of the population works desk jobs, this causes a rift in the two cultures. Rednecks also
deviate from the norm in the language portion of life; rednecks have their own language and slang that
most people do not understand. For example, a redneck would confuse their semantics and use the
word far as the word fire, You better turn down the stove before the chicken catches far, or they will
use the word ranch in the place of wrench, Hey skeeter, go fetch me that there ranch from my truck.
Other than their slang rednecks also dress in a very profound way; redneck boys and redneck girls
have a very unique style. Usually it is a combination of ripped up jeans with stains all over them, no
doubt from strenuous manual labor, and some random camo pattern tee shirt that probably has
barbeque sauce on it, and of course the muddy cowboy boots and dirty hat. Rednecks use boundaries
to distinguish themselves from others in these ways and more, their vehicles, their attire, their
language, and their life styles. Rednecks are very proud of their life

Mills and Happiness Essay
Mills states that it #8230; is not the agent s own greatest happiness, but the greatest amount
of happiness altogether #8230; . This leaves no room for opinion because then the greater
number would not be contemplated. So who does Mills leave to decide to whom may
plan what the greater happiness is? It would be left up to people with lots of knowledge
and wisdom. Mills thinks that the so called experts would be able to decide the greatest
happiness. But must be strictly impartial as a disinterested and benevolent spectator .
At some point his idea makes sense. To live in a strict utilitarian society you would need

to. But then again to look in on a perfect world and see I would have to agree it could
possibly produce many favorable outcomes.
Question 2
Of the two formulations we discussed of Kant on the Categorical Imperative then I
would go along with the second idea it seems to be the most workable and valuable. This
concept states that humans are the ends in themselves(mere means). Though this point
seems to be very simple and idealistic, it could be sensible. Kant believes that the
preservation of life is the number one duty in sensible individuals. This not only includes
our lives, but also trying to help others in their lives. This is what he meant when
discussing that humans are not means but ends. This goes on that humans aren t used to
be methods to get somewhere or something by other humans. If this point was taken and
used it could prove to be useful. People wouldn t be taken advantage of or manipulated.
Unless it was some kind of mutual agreement.
Human beings as ends include another aspect of life. That no cause if worth taking a
human life to fix it. I would say I do agree with this

The Influence Of Brunelleschi Cathedrals In Florence
As a construction management major I thought it was only fitting that I choose this topic. Interestingly
enough, a lot of the question that were asked during the Brunelleschi s time are still being asked today
when it comes to construction.
Finding a solution to build an artistic roof that would fully cover the interior, and keep the outdoor
elements from entering, instead of having a massive whole in their cathedrals was the motivation that
led to Brunelleschi s invention of the dome that is used on a few cathedrals in Florence.
The questions that were asked were how are they going to build a dome that was almost 150 feet
across? How are they going to build this dome and successfully place them from 180 feet from the
ground? Would the weight

Background
Homer s epic poem, the Iliad, first started as an oral storytelling tradition dating from about 1100 BC,
after the Trojan war.
It is part of the great oral tradition of storytelling in the English language, of which Shakespeare (the
word bard is part of the tradition) and other famous writers are a part. The stories are of heroes and
heroines, wars and epic battles, great deeds and gods. They explore human nature and ... Show more

Malouf tells stories within the story to illustrate the value of storytelling in looking at what it is to be
human, qualities such as grief, paternal love, fear, heroism, loyalty, pride, dignity, etc. He takes a
critical moment out of the Iliad and looks at universal human values and lessons to be learnt in times
of deprivation and loss.
There are a number of stories within the main story:
Priam/Peleus
Podacres/Hersione
Patroclus
Briesis
Beauty
Somax s family
Neotolemus
Cassandra
Hermes
Priam s sons
These all serve to illustrate both the power of storytelling and its importance in human life and the
meaning of the book, such as the nature of heroism and the role of chance in human life.
Mythic tales like the Iliad tend to ignore the smaller, detailed stories within it; the narrative sweeps
along in epic proportions and can be described as a saga. By structuring the story into five parts:
1. Achilles
2. Priam 3. The journey of Priam and Somax 4. Confrontation 5. Resolution and using very little direct
dialogue, Malouf concentrates on the human aspects of storytelling the people, and how they influence
their own lives. His highly descriptive, at times intimate and lyrical style gives us a detailed
understanding of and empathy for his characters and the choices they face. The narrator plays the role
of sympathiser and is, at times, omniscient in his observations and understanding. (n.b. are Malouf and

Stone cold. Don knows what he s gotten everyone into, and so do I. He tries to make it more
enjoyable; so, he slaps on a smile and continues on with the rules. Once you have dropped off your
hostage, someone from each team, who is not the driver, will call each other and give them a vague
hint as to where the other team member is. Such as saying, Bow and Arrow if you drop them off at
Target. After that, it s completely up to the other team to find them within 3 hours. A moment of
silence occurred until Clark exclaimed, I m down! Let s get this game going! Everyone was super
excited and pumped to play, until the dreadful question came along, Who wants to be the hostage?
asked Don. Crickets. No one said a word. Okay then, I guess I will be for my team uttered Don. Janet
squeals at Clark, Come on, big shot! Be a man and sacrifice yourself! Shaking at the thought of it,
Clark agrees. As the teams begin for the adventure they re about to embark on, Don says one final
thing, Oh yeah! As a hostage, you must follow the three simple rules. You must stay in the location
that you were dropped off at. You must stay outside so that your team can easily spot you. And most
importantly, no phones. Pissed as ever, Clark yells, What if something goes wrong? You want me to
die? Nothing s going to happen. Don chuckles, Why do you think we don t let the girls be the

Socratic Method Research Paper
The Socratic method is a process of asking questions to get at the root of assumptions, values, and
construction of arguments. Is this just an annoying habit? Is it crucial for having a happy life? How do
you think this kind of thinking (rational judgments, asking questions) will relate to your own career?
How do you think our lives would be different today if we did not ask questions but simply accepted
the knowledge and traditions of our ancestors? I think the more in depth you ask and continuously ask
questions is crucial to having a happy life because happiness starts within yourself. Asking questions
is the best way to gain a deeper insight on everyday life and interactions. I think it s the key to

The Spartan II Project By Dr. Catherine Halsey
It all started with ORION Project without it The Spartan II project never would have been born, it was
the idea that a small special forces teams would be better than a large army they were to costly the
damage was becoming too great. This new idea was cheeps saved the lives of solders and was better at
getting the job done. But combating with the insurgents was becoming too much for the UNSC to
manage. As the enemy grow in numbers and strength they became more effective and more forceful,
the need for large scale military campaigns became increasingly encouraged. Soon after this
realization in the later months of 2517 The Spartan II project was conceived by Dr. Catherine Halsey
who happened to be successor to the ORION Project and was the best possible solution to end the
widespread raged that flooded throughout UNSC space. The project was created these goals in mind.
First was to create a group of elite soldiers meant to subdue any obstacle in their way, with little to no
military casualties, second goal was to minimize civilian casualties and to prevent a civil war from
ever happening and thirdly goal was minimizing the general cost of war. Halsey s proposal for the
project was farfetched at best it detailed radical changes and would test the boundaries of people s
ethical beliefs and moral code. The first and most controversial was the subjects themselves, they were
picked from a gene candidate pool of boys all at the age of six years old. This narrowed the

Rural Areas Is Poor And Lagging Behind The Rest Of The...
Body:
I. Main Point 1. The facts show that education in rural areas is poor and lagging behind the rest of the
country.
A. The first common fact that can be seen is the lack of resources in rural schools. The U.S.
Department of Education reported that rural teachers on the average earn less money and work longer
hours than there counterparts in other geographic regions and open teacher positions are harder to fill.
Less pay and harder work is what awaits the rural teacher.
B. The second fact is that rural schools need funds and materials to do their job. According to the
National Education Program, Rural schools serve over 40 percent of our nation s students, but receive
only 22 percent of federal education funding.
C. A third fact facing rural schools is the rate of poverty of the students and their families. . According
to Dan Fishman, high school teacher in rural New Mexico and the former director of K 12 programs at
The Philanthropy Roundtable overall, one in four rural children live in poverty, and of the 50 U.S.
counties with the highest child poverty rates, 48 are rural. This causes the school to be faced with
many other problems such as nutrition and social issues.
Transition: Now that we understand some of the facts, let us look at some of the leading causes of the
poor education in rural America.
II. Main Point 2. The leading causes for substandard education in rustic areas of the United States are
common and readily identifiable.

Analysis Of The Second Sex By Simone De Beauvoir
Simone de Beauvoir starts her second volume of book, The Second Sex, with the statement, One is not
born, but rather becomes, a woman (267). This is one of the most famous statement of de Beauvoir.
She argues that a woman is not born fragile, passive, or secondary; she is forced by her environment
and the society to become so. A woman learns her role from her circumstance. She is not born shy,
gentle, or passive, but is gradually shaped in that way by her upbringing. I agree with de Beauvoir s
argument. I also believe that femininity does not come from birth, it is shaped by our culture and
sophistication. The difference between characteristics of male and female is not because of any
biological reasons, but it is because of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are a lot of criticism on this topic. Many people argue that men are biologically stronger, and
are risk takers. They claim women focus more on emotions. I do agree that men and women are
physically different. Men, on average, have greater muscle mass and denser bones. Men tend to be
taller, and have weigh more than women, in general. However, it has nothing to do with strength.
Many women lift weights and train hard nowadays. Those women will be able to do any sort of
physical activity like men do. Women s bodies are capable to attaining the strength that a man s body
can. Now, one might argue women have to train to be strong, but men are naturally strong. This
argument is not valid because women are not given a chance to use their strength since a young age.
Whenever there is a need to lift, shift or move heavy things, men are asked to do so. Girls from a
young age learns that it is not her job to lift things, so she does not care about strengthening herself.
Therefore, feminine and masculine characteristics and behavior that are not tied to biology but instead
originate from the culture specific perception, treatment of what sex you are and should be. If children
would see women lifting and pushing weights, they would not think that only men should be strong. If
they would see their father taking care of them like their mothers do, they would not think that only
women are tender

Big-Business and How It Is Affecting All Americans
A lot of these big businesses run similarly to dictatorship or communist countries, a person or small
group making the decisions for the masses, which these policies only apply to the masses and not the
group making the decision. Being above the corporate policies set forth for the worker allows these
greedy employers to promise the world if the employee works hard to accomplish the company s goals
of profit. Then, when the employer wants more and the employee is not capable. They call the
employee into the office to lay them off with no benefit other than the benefit of experience working
in the company. Although there is still the opportunity for the American dream, big business decisions
are helping that dream fade away because of greed. These large corporations are pushing the
percentage margin of profits to exceed well over twice the amount of capital; most of it goes into the
pockets of the executives, that the company put in at the begin through the strategy of; laying off
employees, closing work sites, and buying out the smaller competition. However, the sovereignty of
America is slowly dwindling away by the loss of buying power of the US dollar, through the impact of
the decisions made by these small executive groups of big corporate America and foreign companies
trying to beat the market leader. They clearly do this by lowering the cost of a similar product below
what American companies can compete. It is easy to conclude that absolute power corrupts absolutely;

Garrison Keillor s The Prodigal Son vs. Luke s The Parable of the Prodigal Son
The classic story of the Prodigal Son is one of the best known parables in literature. A parable is often
times described as a short narrative which teaches a moral; however, the plot is more realistic, than
say a fable, and the characters are humans as oppose to animals or natural forces within nature.
Parables are also presented in a more suggestive tone, which leaves them more open to interpretation.
The play Prodigal Son told by Garrison Keillor differs greatly in terms of style compared to Lukes

same moral, however, both are open to very different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This style merely added to the parable itself. One could argue that since the personalities in Keillors
version were more developed, it left less room for ones own interpretation. Because the personalities
of the characters were more distinct, it also alllwed for more focus on the actual plot and the building
moral. Since the moral is the true point to a parable, it would be pointless for an audience or reader to
be stuck on the their curiosity of the type of people the characters were supposed to represent. More
detail, merely aids in the strength of a parables narrative qualities. A major difference that I noted
when reading and comparing the two parables was the usage of language. That writing style of the
parables truly affected my interpretation of the moral. Keillor took a much more modern approach to
the language that the characters conversed with. He also utilized more symbolism in the language in
order to pursue more of a comedy type piece. An example of such is when Wally returnas home and
his father is ecstatic about his return, and begins to give him gifts and attention. The father then
decides amongst all his excitement that he wants to give Wally a ring, which he had already given to
the older son Dwight. Dwight responds with, cant give it to the son who has worked his tail off for
thirty years, oh no, gotta give it to the weasel who comes dragging his butt through the door (Kennedy

Application Of Magnetic Polymer Nanocomposites
Abstract Magnetic polymer nanocomposites have attracted broad interest for hyperthermic cancer
treatment because they are non toxic, biocompatible, and can be remotely heated by alternating
magnetic fields. The magnetic induction heating behavior provides a great benefit in biomedical
applications, such as targeted drug delivery, and magnetic separation. In situ formation of an organic
or polymer layer on their surface is one of the efficient methods for decreasing the aggregation
between the nanoparticles, as well as providing functionality on the surface and allowing further
functionalization with drugs and therapeutic agents. The most challenging task in hyperthermia is to
maximize the specific absorption rate (SAR) with a lower ferrofluids dose. Magnetic nanoparticles
coated with polymer layer combine the unique magnetic properties of multi functional nanoparticles
with self heating property. In addition, it is easier in preparation by a one pot process. The formation
of the nanoparticles with a higher SAR makes it a promising in hyperthermia cancer treatment. 1.
Introduction The outstanding potential of magnetic polymer nanocomposites stems from the ability to
obtain structures with the combinations of properties that neither individual material possesses. It is
possible to synthesize these nanocomposites in desired shape and size with controlled properties of
stability, surface area, magnetic, optical, and catalytic properties. The easy separation and controlled

Henry David Thoreau s Argument Analysis
I think that Henry David Thoreau s argument is how human society isn t close enough to nature, and
that we use the environment mostly for our interests. He wants people to be more attuned to the
environment, and we should carefully observe the environment. Henry David Thoreau believes that
we know ourselves only by knowing nature. We are apart of nature, knowing that is the only way to
truly live.
1. According to Henry David Thoreau our relationship to nature is how we treat nature and the
environment. We see ourselves as if we are in total control over nature and use it for our personal
interests. When we believe that we have control over nature we think that we can do whatever we
want with the environment, but Henry David Thoreau thinks

Carbon Dioxide Content Lab Report
The results are listed in order of increasing carbon dioxide content. The lowest being pepperoni and
the highest being roast beef. Both of these are meat products but they have very different compositions
and storage methods, as the beef was frozen in liquid and the pepperoni was in an air sealed package
at room temperature. The foods with a lot of lipids in them, like pepperoni, turkey, roast beef, and
walnuts all had the lowest oxygen contents. The carbohydrate based foods, like oatmeal, noodles, and
mac and cheese had the highest oxygen concentration in their headspace. This is because they are not
as easily oxidized as the other products. There was not a very specific pattern of proportionality when
comparing the amount of carbon dioxide to the amount of oxygen in the headspaces. One thing that
did stand out was that the lowest oxygen contents are found at the top (highest carbon dioxide
concentration) and the bottom of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Things like the type of food, type of packaging, storage method, and expiration time can all be taken
into consideration when trying to make the shelf life of the product longer by finding the optimum
headspace composition. Orange juice was of the only liquids in a paper container, and is a very acidic
liquid. I would expect this to make it have extreme oxygen or carbon dioxide contents because of
these factors, but it was right in the middle of the spectrum for both. The first five products in the
chart are all stored at room temperature, but the chilled or frozen products had higher carbon dioxide
contents. Many of the meat or lipid rich products had the lowest oxygen concentrations. The lipids
have low oxygen contents because the rate of oxidation of fatty acids increases with degree of
unsaturation. Oxygen causes quality deterioration and loss of nutritional value in these products so
manufacturers and scientists like to keep it as low as possible in these

Joshua By Ellen G. White Analysis
Moses was dead. The Israelites had no leader and they began to wonder what was going to happen to
them. They shouldn t have been fearful; God was taking care of them. Joshua, who had been the prime
minister fro Moses, had been handpicked by God to fulfill the leadership position. As the story says,
Joshua had been chosen by God to lead the Israelites. He had shown wisdom and discernment in many
situations and he understood the responsibility for leading the people. He was well qualified for the
position! Joshua was well qualified for this position, because he had been faithful before in small
menial tasks that had been given to him. He had been faithful to God in the little things and now
because of the faithfulness God was giving to him this huge responsibility. Reading this made me
think about my own life. Would I be found faithful before God in the little things in life? And would I
be able to take on bigger responsibilities? Ellen G. White says this, Only ... Show more content on

I wonder what he was feeling as he marched back into the land, which he had before. Was he excited
to be back? Was he fearful of what might happen? Or was he completely trusting in God to take care
of him and the Israelites? On of the first battles they fought was the Battle of Jericho and Joshua had
to pray fervently for God to help him and the people with it. God heard and answered their prayer and
delivered the people of Jericho into their hands. After this, Joshua had the people take a stand. Would
they serve God or Baal? Who was going to be their God and who was going to have their heart s
affections? This call is still resounding down through the ages to now. What side are you going to
choose? Are you going to serve God or make your own god? The choice is yours to decide. The choice
is mine. I pray that the answer will come back with a resounding sound saying, The Lord our God will

We All Looked Up
I am reading We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach and I am on page 410. So far this book is about
the perspectives of different high school kids when there is news of a chance of a meteor destroying
earth. In the book the reader is able to see how different people react to the situation. The reader also
gets to see how the kids see each other and what is actually happening in their life. With only a
potential week left to live the world has started to go crazy with the anticipation. In this journal I will
be evaluating and questioning.

One of the two possible answers is that the meteor will hit earth. If the meteor hits earth the world
would end and everything on earth would cease to exist. All time for these characters would stop and
the story would just end there. The lesson throughout the whole book would be proven true by the
characters. The lesson to live life to the fullest with no regrets and that sometimes people just need to
realize that they need to always make life worth living. In the book Eliza says If it all ends within this
next week, would I have any regrets (Wallach 392). With death being right around the corner the
reader is really able to see the characters change and be who they really want to be. The only other
answer to the question would be that the meteor misses. If the meteor misses then people would
continue with their lives. It would take a while for everyone to recover and bring themselves back
from the chaos and anarchy that was happening. People would have to take time to get the world back
in order and have everything run like it did before the meteor. With the meteor not hitting the would
be a giant elephant in the room for the whole world. In the book Peter says If the meteor doesn t hit
would anyone mention it? (Wallach 347). That has been my biggest question so far while I have been

Essay A Comparison of Macbeth and Hamlet
A Comparison of Macbeth and Hamlet MACBETH stands in contrast throughout with Hamlet; in the
manner of opening more especially. In the latter, there is a gradual ascent from the simplest forms of

passion: in the former, the invocation is at once made to the imagination and the emotions connected

affected bravado in confronting them. In all the rest, Macbeth s language is the grave utterance of the
very heart, conscience sick, even to the last faintings of moral death. It is the same in all the other
characters. The variety arises from rage, caused ever and anon by disruption of anxious thought, and
the quick transition of fear into it.
In Hamlet and Macbeth the scene opens with superstition; but, in each it is not merely different, but
opposite. In the first it is connected with the best and holiest feelings; in the second with the shadowy,
turbulent, and unsanctified cravings of the individual will. Nor is the purpose the same; in the one the
object is to excite, whilst in the other it is to mark a mind already excited. Superstition, of one sort or
another, is natural to victorious generals; the instances are too notorious to need mentioning. There is

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), is a form of chronic liver disease ranging in severity from
simple fat infiltration (steatosis) to an advanced form, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH, steatosis
with liver inflammation) with subsequent progression to fibrosis.1 The relationship between gut flora
and the development of NAFLD have been under study for almost the last decade. Uncontrolled
growth of gut bacteria and translocation of gut microorganisms from the intestinal lumen predispose
patients to multiple bacterial infections. 2

liver damage and mitochondrial dysfunction will follow which contribute to fat accumulation and
development of NAFLD.9
Therefore, the liver gut interaction is central to understand the pathophysiology of liver diseases,
including non alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and hepatic encephalopathy. Current knowledge
on the association between gut microbial composition and NASH is incomplete. Liver malfunction
leads to altered genetic composition of gut microbial, and in the meantime specific bacterial species
are present during liver pathogenesis, and the abundance of some bacteria is correlates with grade of
liver disease, implying the term gut liver axis .
Toll like receptors (TLRs) constitute very important players in this microbiome balance. TLRs are
trans membrane non catalytic receptor proteins that prompt activation of innate and adaptive immune
responses to microorganisms through recognition of conserved molecular patterns of organisms. In
order to maintain immune tolerance to the luminal microorganisms the expression of TLRs by
intestinal epithelial cells is normallyat its minimal.

BMW AN EMOTIONAL BRAND
The automobile industry has grown to be a very dynamic one in the recent years. Even though the
essential use of this industry has been to satisfy the customer s need to travel from one place to
another in comfort, the constantly changing market, has slowly changed customer s needs into wants
paving way for high competition in the automobile arena. This essay gives a brief analysis on BMW,
one of the leading brands in the industry and how they effectively use marketing as a tool to achieve
the status they enjoy now. Even though BMW produces various automobiles including motorbikes and

coming into the automobile industry with the same quality but cheaper price range. That s when
BMW, launched a new 7 series of cars which is more stylish and fashion orientated than their main
value of performance. This was a highly calculated risk that BMW took as this strategy deviated
highly from their core values and they faced the risk of losing the loyal customer base who believed in
the tagline promoting BMW as the ultimate driving machine. When conducting a feedback from the
customers in US, they found that almost 75% 5 were not interested in buying the product. Although,
the new look might threaten to alienate its current customer base, it has not had any damaging impact
on the company s sales. It is still the number one car brand in the European market with a sales
increase of 2.2% 8 in its home country in 2006 and almost 7%8 sales growth in the US market in
2007.
The BMW group has always been highly market driven and have been aggressive marketers of their
product. They are dynamic in their promotion and innovative and are initiators in their field. By
analysing their marketing mix, it will be possible to understand their current strategies and why BMW
is still the market leaders in the automobile industry.

Competitive Tactic Of Walmart
WALMART
The ultimate way to define itself in a competitive market, a corporation must have a competitive tactic
to survive. A competitive tactic is a tool that the firm can use to compete with rivals and succeed
eventually. Examples of competitive tactics are price leaders, product differentiation, price and
differentiation focus, timing tactics, and market location tactics (Mitchell, n.d.). Today this essay will
analyze the competitive tactic of Wal Mart Stores Inc., the retail giant of America. Furthermore, a
SWOT analysis will be performed on the company to understand its internal and external
environment, and finally a new competitive tactic that it should attempt will be formulated.
Wal Mart Stores Inc., created by the business tycoon Sam Walton, is a giant corporation providing
retail services to the American population. From hypermarkets, to regular grocery stores, Wal Mart
has been able to open its doors to even the remotest location in USA. With many competitors lagging
behind such as Target, Alders, Kmart, and Costco, Wal Mart has been able to maintain the lead in the
retail market. As a matter of fact, as a competitive tactic, Wal Mart focuses on maintaining lower
prices with their motto being Everyday Low Prices .
Wal Mart has been able to maintain a price leadership strategy due to the vastness of the corporation.
It is said that within a 15 miles range, there must be a Wal Mart for almost every customer in USA
(Walmart, n.d.). With around 4,700 stores in USA alone, it has been able to become the routine
shopping place of numerous households. Since the very beginning, Wal Mart adopted the low price
leadership strategy and gradually started making profit based on the volume of sales (Hyde R., n.d.).
From tires to electronics, Wal Mart Supercenters are premises selling almost everything and in great
varieties. After having been able to capture a vast number of customers and leading as a retailer with
suppliers relying on Wal Mart for more than 20% of their sale, it started leveraging its bargaining
power against suppliers and pressuring them to keep lowering their prices. They are reputed in
minimizing overhead and cost, especially when it comes to employees wages and utilities (Hyde R.,

Charles Le Brun s Influence on the Palace of Versailles
Charles Le Brun, a renowned 17th century artist politician lived between 1619 and 1690. He gained
prominence through his impeccable paintings, coupled with his mastery of creation in the architecture
of gardens, buildings, and in sculptures. Le Brun drew his inspiration from Michelangelo, which
expanded his horizons by creating sculptures and architecture, alongside painting. As one of the
dominant artists in France, Le Brun put immense value on visual expression in an era of
expressionism. He is responsible for the decoration in the Palace of Versailles, Hesselin, and Vaux. In
fact, Le Brun designed almost every decorative detail in the Palace of Versailles, which included
decorations, artwork, and landscape. Built for King Louis XIV, the Palace of Versailles is an elaborate,
magnificent representation of French Baroque architecture, and it is one of the most famous royal
chateaus in France. The scale of its decoration comprises of the rhythmic repetition of large windows
expressing core values of Baroque art. According to Baroque architecture, buildings required a focal
point, and within the interior of the Palace of Versailles, the point of focus is the King s bed. Palace of

President Jimmy Carter and Big Government Spending Essay
Although Carter was a likable man, the role of president was not the job for him. His big government
spending and policies were responsible for leading our fragile country into one of the worst economic
recessions ever. However, this all changes in January of 1981 when President Ronald Reagan was
sworn into office and came to our country s rescue. Reagan stepped in ready to mend the deep scars
left behind by setting forth an economic plan, Reaganomics, in hopes to bail out our sinking country.
Though many may say Reagan s conservative ways had this plan favoring the upper class, this was not
the case. In 1981 President Carter handed his duty to Ronald Reagan in a vulnerable time for the
country. America was in an economic recession where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Supply side went off the idea that, tax rates affect a person s incentive to work, save, and invest. To
put it simply: lower tax rates create more economic energy, which generates more economic activity,
which produces a greater flow of revenue to the government (Gramm, Phil). This was known as the
Laffer Curve. When Reagan first came into office he was dealing with marginal rates at about 70% of
returns on savings and investments, but as he left office, 33% was the highest rate in the tax code
which even dropped to 28%. These tax rates led the nation to one of the longest peacetime recoveries
economically (Gramm, Phil). Before people can blame Reagan for stealing from the poor we must
look at the overall effects of his plan that seemingly led America out of a deep recession. First of all,
the tax cuts that he implemented were for ALL Americans. That means the rich, the poor, African
Americans, and even the disabled. These tax cuts were a positive incentive for everyone, which in turn
helped to stimulate the economy. In Reagan s Radio Address to the Nation in 1983 he explains how
much trouble Carter s double digit inflation negatively affected the country. The government was
faced with large deficits and record high interest rates. Of course with the devastating numbers, the
poor were scrambling to keep their heads above water and consequently many plummeted into deep
poverty. With the poverty level sky rocketing, any effort Reagan made to

Colonialism, By Lois Tyson Essay
Colonialism, the hunger to expand and conquer causes the world, becomes an endless arena for the
fight for dominance and inevitable discrimination that follows. Even once colonization ends, the
natives are not immediately free because of the aftermath that remains in the dust colonization leaves
behind.
One inevitable result of colonization is the establishment of social hierarchy that continues into
postcolonial society. In Using Colonialism/ Postcolonialism Critical Theory, Lois Tyson eloquently
explains the consequences of colonialism and the different facets of Postcolonialism. First, in a
colonial social hierarchy, unquestionably, the members of the colonizing culture occupy the top rungs
of the ladder (Tyson 248 9). Meanwhile, those who occupy the bottom rungs of the colonialist social
ladder whether their inferior status is based on race... or any other cultural factor are called subalterns,
who are then othered by the colonized, who believe their dominance and authority is validation for
their discrimination (Tyson 249). Through othering, the savage is... therefore, not considered fully
human (Tyson 248). This mindset does not belong purely to the colonists, but applies to the colonized
as well. To elaborate, Tyson uses the term colonized consciousness to describe subalterns who
internalize... the colonialist belief that those different from a society s dominant culture are inferior
(Tyson 249). Consequently, subalterns look to the dominant class s culture to

How To Write An Essay About African American Culture
Cross cultural is other cultures are studied to see similarities. For example, communication is
examined to see what worda they may have in common or how they communicate to other cultures. I
had to think deep and see how cross culture is in my life. There are many examples from the previous
chapter. I chose to go with chapter 18. I want to discuss the African slave trade, and how the African
culture shaped Black American culture in north America. When slaves were brought to America they
were striped from their culture. They were around other African cultures as well. These different
cultures could have been a rival tribe. So the Africans culture identity was challenged here in America.

Corn was a staple in the Americas which came from the native Americans. Corn became extremely

In the seventeenth century, many enslaved Africans may have noticed similarities between their
cultures (Regelski,The Soul of Food). Africans took this technique and incorporated into their way of
making bread which were called hoecake or ash cake. Corn bread was also a good source of food for
slaves that worked on the field. Because some of the time the master would not give them a break.

Classroom Management Is Essential For Effective Teaching...
Introduction
Classroom management is essential to effective teaching because this is what makes a classroom flow
forward in the direction of academic success and a great school year. The text states that classroom
management is comprised of the necessary processes to create and maintain a positive environment
that is conducive to teaching and learning (Newman, 2013). Classroom management plays an
important role in the setup of a classroom. Classroom management should begin on the very first day
of school. It is how efficiently a teacher can have schedules, structure, and procedures, well
maintained in the classroom. When the teacher demonstrates what the expectations are on day one and
continues to practice these routines and procedures, it sets the tone of the classroom from day one, and
is what is expected the entire year. A teacher uses classroom management to create and maintain a
learning environment. Discipline of students in a classroom has little to do with the learning
environment and overall management of the classroom. The learning environment will be functional
when there are positive expectations of the students. In a well managed classroom students are
involved with their work as the teacher facilitates instruction (N. A., n. d.). This increases student
achievement and there is little time for confusion and disruptive behavior. Harry Wong states that
students know what is expected of them and are generally successful (Wong, 1998). Expectations

The Misstep Of Nokia Its Failure The Misstep of Nokia Which Led Its Failure Introduction Nokia is well known as a Finnish Corporation which makes quality phones, but at its beginning, it was just a pulp mill. According to Nokia Website (Our history, 2017), Few companies have Nokia s storied capacity for transforming, developing new technologies and adapting to shifts in market conditions. Indeed, Nokia had a successful transformation in business. Nokia was founded in 1865 by a Finnish engineer, Fredrik Idestam. As a pure mill, paper making was its main business. Then, it gradually expanded to the business of rubber, cable, power plant, and television (Our story, 2017). It mainly engages in electronic information technology, multinational communications, and consumer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to the underestimate of the smartphone business, Nokia started to lose its market share and then it failed in the competition of smartphones. After several years flounder, Nokia s mobile phone business was acquired by using 7.9 billion dollars by Microsoft in 2013. At that time, Nokia s market share fell to 2.8% (Pearce, 2016). Nokia taught a lesson which is opportunity knocks once, and the neighbors do the rest of the time. As a firm, right decisions should be made at the right time in order to catch the opportunity. Nokia made wrong decisions while it was facing the opportunity, so it declined year by year. When Nokia missed the best time for transformation, its day had gone even though it had some right moves. Therefore, Nokia has been becoming a negative example for other firms. What are good decisions and bad decisions? Good decisions will lead to good outcomes (Spetzler, 2016). In contrast, bad decisions will cause bad outcomes. Therefore, decision making is important for a company as they will generally affect the result of the company. In other words, the company can either profit or loss depend on what kind of decisions are made. Nokia made some bad decisions, so it reached a bad outcome. In order to find the biggest factor in Nokia s downfall, the paper will firstly show what mistakes Nokia made caused the result and then compare which one was the worst decision. Even though Nokia s mistakes have been compared yet, the vertical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Museum Of Glass Art Movement Robert Clark Palusky, b.1942 Duluth, MN, is a pioneer in the contemporary glass art movement. A prolific artist, Palusky s career in glass spans four decades. His work is featured in museums around the world and celebrated in many world class private collections. Most prominent show to date includes Tête à Tête: Figures Humaines (Ten Masters in Glass) a show featuring Palusky along side Pablo Picasso, Salvidore Dali, and Jean Arp. Typically, in order to see Palusky s artwork in person, you would have to travel to museums in Switzerland, Japan or Spain, or in the U.S. to the Museum of Modern Art or the Corning Museum of Glass. However, due to sheer luck, Palusky s work is on display right here in Saratoga Springs at the Equine Gallery at Studio di Luce which benefits The Foal Project (www.foalproject.org). The gallery is located at 480 Broadway on the main floor right next door to City Hall. I ve been blessed to know Robert Palusky (Bob) and his wife, Virginia (also an amazing artist in her own right) for quite some time, and they have been great friends of the Foal Project as well. When the Equine Gallery opened a few months ago, it only made sense to ask if I could showcase one of his pieces, to highlight his work, and introduce this remarkable artist to the Saratoga community. I was honored when he was kind enough to oblige. I had no idea which piece he would agree to send to Saratoga, however, it was no surprise to discover there was a horse involved. ... • 7. West Africa Dbq The development and growth of civilizations in African history were contradicted by several American and European historians in the sixteenth and early twentieth centuries. The reason for this lack of understanding is because the focus was mainly on Europe s chaotic society at the time. In addition, Africa didn t have physically written documents to present their actual history. Instead, it was orally passed down. This is why historians have falsely concluded that Africa was an uncivilized Dark Continent. But what does it mean to be civilized? A group of people is characterized as civilized when they are organized as a society, and able to advance it. • 8. Redneck Subculture Other than goths I think a subculture that really stands out in our culture is the subculture deemed as redneck, I am not certain what the exact title of this subculture is or should be because it can be pretty diverse. I was raised in a small farming and mining town so I have seen firsthand how diverse red necks can be; a redneck can be anything from a dignified rancher to a back woods, alligator wraslin [sic], moon shine drinking, hillbilly. Webster defines rednecks as, a white person who lives in a small town or in the country especially in the southern U.S., who typically has a working class job, and who is seen by others as being uneducated and having opinions and attitudes that are offensive. Typically a redneck would be participating in manual labor jobs such as, working on ranches or farms where is most of the population works desk jobs, this causes a rift in the two cultures. Rednecks also deviate from the norm in the language portion of life; rednecks have their own language and slang that most people do not understand. For example, a redneck would confuse their semantics and use the word far as the word fire, You better turn down the stove before the chicken catches far, or they will use the word ranch in the place of wrench, Hey skeeter, go fetch me that there ranch from my truck. Other than their slang rednecks also dress in a very profound way; redneck boys and redneck girls have a very unique style. Usually it is a combination of ripped up jeans with stains all over them, no doubt from strenuous manual labor, and some random camo pattern tee shirt that probably has barbeque sauce on it, and of course the muddy cowboy boots and dirty hat. Rednecks use boundaries to distinguish themselves from others in these ways and more, their vehicles, their attire, their language, and their life styles. Rednecks are very proud of their life ... It would be left up to people with lots of knowledge and wisdom. Mills thinks that the so called experts would be able to decide the greatest happiness. • 11. The Influence Of Brunelleschi Cathedrals In Florence As a construction management major I thought it was only fitting that I choose this topic. Interestingly enough, a lot of the question that were asked during the Brunelleschi s time are still being asked today when it comes to construction. Finding a solution to build an artistic roof that would fully cover the interior, and keep the outdoor elements from entering, instead of having a massive whole in their cathedrals was the motivation that led to Brunelleschi s invention of the dome that is used on a few cathedrals in Florence. The questions that were asked were how are they going to build a dome that was almost 150 feet across? How are they going to build this dome and successfully place them from 180 feet from the ground? Malouf tells stories within the story to illustrate the value of storytelling in looking at what it is to be human, qualities such as grief, paternal love, fear, heroism, loyalty, pride, dignity, etc. He takes a critical moment out of the Iliad and looks at universal human values and lessons to be learnt in times of deprivation and loss. There are a number of stories within the main story: Priam/Peleus Podacres/Hersione Patroclus Briesis Beauty Somax s family Neotolemus Cassandra Hermes Priam s sons These all serve to illustrate both the power of storytelling and its importance in human life and the meaning of the book, such as the nature of heroism and the role of chance in human life. Mythic tales like the Iliad tend to ignore the smaller, detailed stories within it; the narrative sweeps along in epic proportions and can be described as a saga. By structuring the story into five parts: 1. Achilles 2. Priam 3. The journey of Priam and Somax 4. Confrontation 5. Such as saying, Bow and Arrow if you drop them off at Target. After that, it s completely up to the other team to find them within 3 hours. A moment of silence occurred until Clark exclaimed, I m down! Let s get this game going! The Spartan II Project By Dr. Catherine Halsey It all started with ORION Project without it The Spartan II project never would have been born, it was the idea that a small special forces teams would be better than a large army they were to costly the damage was becoming too great. This new idea was cheeps saved the lives of solders and was better at getting the job done. But combating with the insurgents was becoming too much for the UNSC to manage. As the enemy grow in numbers and strength they became more effective and more forceful, the need for large scale military campaigns became increasingly encouraged. Soon after this realization in the later months of 2517 The Spartan II project was conceived by Dr. Catherine Halsey who happened to be successor to the ORION Project and was the best possible solution to end the widespread raged that flooded throughout UNSC space. The project was created these goals in mind. First was to create a group of elite soldiers meant to subdue any obstacle in their way, with little to no military casualties, second goal was to minimize civilian casualties and to prevent a civil war from ever happening and thirdly goal was minimizing the general cost of war. Halsey s proposal for the project was farfetched at best it detailed radical changes and would test the boundaries of people s ethical beliefs and moral code. • 17. Rural Areas Is Poor And Lagging Behind The Rest Of The... Body: I. Main Point 1. The facts show that education in rural areas is poor and lagging behind the rest of the country. A. The first common fact that can be seen is the lack of resources in rural schools. The U.S. Department of Education reported that rural teachers on the average earn less money and work longer hours than there counterparts in other geographic regions and open teacher positions are harder to fill. Less pay and harder work is what awaits the rural teacher. B. The second fact is that rural schools need funds and materials to do their job. According to the National Education Program, Rural schools serve over 40 percent of our nation s students, but receive only 22 percent of federal education funding. C. A third fact facing rural schools is the rate of poverty of the students and their families. . According to Dan Fishman, high school teacher in rural New Mexico and the former director of K 12 programs at The Philanthropy Roundtable overall, one in four rural children live in poverty, and of the 50 U.S. counties with the highest child poverty rates, 48 are rural. This causes the school to be faced with many other problems such as nutrition and social issues. • 18. Analysis Of The Second Sex By Simone De Beauvoir Simone de Beauvoir starts her second volume of book, The Second Sex, with the statement, One is not born, but rather becomes, a woman (267). This is one of the most famous statement of de Beauvoir. She argues that a woman is not born fragile, passive, or secondary; she is forced by her environment and the society to become so. A woman learns her role from her circumstance. She is not born shy, gentle, or passive, but is gradually shaped in that way by her upbringing. I agree with de Beauvoir s argument. I also believe that femininity does not come from birth, it is shaped by our culture and sophistication. The difference between characteristics of male and female is not because of any biological reasons, but it is because of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are a lot of criticism on this topic. Many people argue that men are biologically stronger, and are risk takers. They claim women focus more on emotions. I do agree that men and women are physically different. Men, on average, have greater muscle mass and denser bones. Men tend to be taller, and have weigh more than women, in general. However, it has nothing to do with strength. Many women lift weights and train hard nowadays. Those women will be able to do any sort of physical activity like men do. Women s bodies are capable to attaining the strength that a man s body can. Now, one might argue women have to train to be strong, but men are naturally strong. This argument is not valid because women are not given a chance to use their strength since a young age. Whenever there is a need to lift, shift or move heavy things, men are asked to do so. Girls from a young age learns that it is not her job to lift things, so she does not care about strengthening herself. Therefore, feminine and masculine characteristics and behavior that are not tied to biology but instead originate from the culture specific perception, treatment of what sex you are and should be. If children would see women lifting and pushing weights, they would not think that only men should be strong. If they would see their father taking care of them like their mothers do, they would not think that only women are tender ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. Big-Business and How It Is Affecting All Americans A lot of these big businesses run similarly to dictatorship or communist countries, a person or small group making the decisions for the masses, which these policies only apply to the masses and not the group making the decision. Being above the corporate policies set forth for the worker allows these greedy employers to promise the world if the employee works hard to accomplish the company s goals of profit. Then, when the employer wants more and the employee is not capable. They call the employee into the office to lay them off with no benefit other than the benefit of experience working in the company. Although there is still the opportunity for the American dream, big business decisions are helping that dream fade away because of greed. These large corporations are pushing the percentage margin of profits to exceed well over twice the amount of capital; most of it goes into the pockets of the executives, that the company put in at the begin through the strategy of; laying off employees, closing work sites, and buying out the smaller competition. However, the sovereignty of America is slowly dwindling away by the loss of buying power of the US dollar, through the impact of the decisions made by these small executive groups of big corporate America and foreign companies trying to beat the market leader. They clearly do this by lowering the cost of a similar product below what American companies can compete. It is easy to conclude that absolute power corrupts absolutely; ... Garrison Keillor s The Prodigal Son vs. Luke s The Parable of the Prodigal Son The classic story of the Prodigal Son is one of the best known parables in literature. A parable is often times described as a short narrative which teaches a moral; however, the plot is more realistic, than say a fable, and the characters are humans as oppose to animals or natural forces within nature. Parables are also presented in a more suggestive tone, which leaves them more open to interpretation. The play Prodigal Son told by Garrison Keillor differs greatly in terms of style compared to Lukes The Parable of the Prodigal Son told in the Catholic scriptures. Both of these parables convey the same moral, however, both are open to very different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This style merely added to the parable itself. One could argue that since the personalities in Keillors version were more developed, it left less room for ones own interpretation. Because the personalities of the characters were more distinct, it also alllwed for more focus on the actual plot and the building moral. Since the moral is the true point to a parable, it would be pointless for an audience or reader to be stuck on the their curiosity of the type of people the characters were supposed to represent. More detail, merely aids in the strength of a parables narrative qualities. A major difference that I noted when reading and comparing the two parables was the usage of language. That writing style of the parables truly affected my interpretation of the moral. Keillor took a much more modern approach to the language that the characters conversed with. He also utilized more symbolism in the language in order to pursue more of a comedy type piece. An example of such is when Wally returnas home and his father is ecstatic about his return, and begins to give him gifts and attention. The father then decides amongst all his excitement that he wants to give Wally a ring, which he had already given to the older son Dwight. • 21. Application Of Magnetic Polymer Nanocomposites Abstract Magnetic polymer nanocomposites have attracted broad interest for hyperthermic cancer treatment because they are non toxic, biocompatible, and can be remotely heated by alternating magnetic fields. The magnetic induction heating behavior provides a great benefit in biomedical applications, such as targeted drug delivery, and magnetic separation. In situ formation of an organic or polymer layer on their surface is one of the efficient methods for decreasing the aggregation between the nanoparticles, as well as providing functionality on the surface and allowing further functionalization with drugs and therapeutic agents. The most challenging task in hyperthermia is to maximize the specific absorption rate (SAR) with a lower ferrofluids dose. Magnetic nanoparticles coated with polymer layer combine the unique magnetic properties of multi functional nanoparticles with self heating property. In addition, it is easier in preparation by a one pot process. The formation of the nanoparticles with a higher SAR makes it a promising in hyperthermia cancer treatment. 1. Introduction The outstanding potential of magnetic polymer nanocomposites stems from the ability to obtain structures with the combinations of properties that neither individual material possesses. It is possible to synthesize these nanocomposites in desired shape and size with controlled properties of stability, surface area, magnetic, optical, and catalytic properties. To put it simply: lower tax rates create more economic energy, which generates more economic activity, which produces a greater flow of revenue to the government (Gramm, Phil). This was known as the Laffer Curve. When Reagan first came into office he was dealing with marginal rates at about 70% of returns on savings and investments, but as he left office, 33% was the highest rate in the tax code which even dropped to 28%. These tax rates led the nation to one of the longest peacetime recoveries economically (Gramm, Phil).
