Sidney Grigg
In this day and age, a plentitude of young people crave the fast track to fame and fortune, and this
means that they often seek jobs within the entertainemnt community. Without any difficulty, they
expect to become an overnight success because they are, by their own admission, so cool.
Thankfully, there are young actors like Sidney Grigg, who are willing to invest the time and
resources required to ensure longevity and eventual success. In Sidney s case, she has had some
tremendous experiences already, and recently she related some of those stories to me as she
explained how she began in this business and even how she keeps herself motivated and grounded
in a career that requires intense fortitude.

Plus, some of my best friends are actors too, and so we all support each other! It s funny though
we usually never talk about acting when we hang out. Lots of people at school that I hang out
with still don t even know I act. The kids I m around, including myself, do other things like
hockey and dance and school sports, and one is not more important than the other. We are all really
happy for each other when we do well at things and are there for each other when we have tough
times.
What is your advice to other young people who wish to become actors?
My advice would be to take acting classes and do short films to see if you like it! It s different
than most people think. It s hard work and long hours, and you do have to miss out on things if
you have auditions or are filmin,g so you have to love it! My mom made me do about six short
films before she would let me get an agent!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love hanging out with my friends, going to my grandparents cottage and travelling! I also take
dance classes jazz and hip hop. Living in Vancouver is awesome because there is so much to do! I

Government First Grade College Hosakote, Bangalore Rural Abstract
Industrialization is both a policy and a process. It is a policy in the sense that the business groups in
a given society, based on its calculations of the market conditions, government regulations and
societal conditions decide either in favor of or against such a move. It is a process in the sense that

It is a process in the sense that business groups, in its venture towards industrialization tend to
constantly interact with various organizations such as the government, trade unions, economic
organizations and also the members of the civil society in fact, economy itself is embedded in civil
society (Moran, 2006). Broadly speaking, we can identify two major actors or players who play
important roles in the industrialization processes of the state the Government and the business
community. We call them organizations as they are characterized by recognized principles of
sovereignty, exclusiveness and command structures of their own (Leftwich, 2006). Nevertheless,
they are controlled in their activities by the institutional framework, consisting of rules, norms and
conviction, within which they are expected to operate. It is against this background that it becomes
highly essential to understand the nature and status of industrial development in the state of Andhra
Pradesh with respect to the state s policy incentives or disincentives. Further, we intend to
concentrate on the role of the government in Karnataka, in initiating the processes of reinventing
the industrial sector in general and the manufacturing sector in particular. The policy of re
industrialization and re emphasis on manufacturing assumed importance as the probable response
to certain critical conditions such

Confidential And Proprietary Information Case Study
In 2012, Hanjuan Jin attempted to leave the country with 30,000 dollars in cash as well as some
documents from Motorola that were clearly labeled confidential and proprietary information . Not
only did Jin have information about Motorola s trade secrets, she also had documents from the
Chinese military, which could lead some people to believe that she was doing this for the Chinese
government, especially because she had a one way ticket to China. Soon after this took place she
was arrested and then sentenced to 4 years in prison for stealing trade secrets which involved
Motorola telecommunication. The judge however did not believe that the military documents were
enough to convict her that she was attempting to benefit the Chinese government;

Half Day Vs. Full Day Kindergarten
Half Day Vs. Full Day Kindergarten: How a Southwest Washington Elementary School Score s
Measure Up The popularity of full day kindergarten (FDK) has grown over recent decades. The
number of students attending FDK in the United States (US) has escalated from 30% in the
early 1980 s to 55% by 1998 (Walston West, 2004), to 77% reported in 2011. This increase can be
posited as a reflection of societal changes and newly emerging educational priorities stemming
from papers and reforms such as 1983 s A Nation at Risk and 2001 s No Child Left Behind Act
(NCLB) which have increased focus on standards and accountability through high stakes testing.
The rigorous standards and associated accountability have created a demand for more time... Show

Most education stakeholders support the extended day of FDK because they believe it provides
long term and short term academic advantages, behavioral benefits, as well as support to parents
in the workforce. Length of Day There have been positive and negative outcomes found in the
literature associated with the additional time a FDK student experiences. Early childhood
theorists such as Piaget and Vygotsky speculate that larger blocks of time are necessary for young
children to engage in the process of learning (Eliott, Kratochwill, Littlefield, Travers, 1996).
Cooper, Allen, Patall, and Dent (2010) state that benefits of FDK include higher academic
achievement, fewer grade retentions, easier transitions into first grade, better socialization and self
esteem, less hurried instruction, fewer transitions, lower child care costs, more learning
opportunities for low income children, and greater academic quality. A major argument repeated
in the literature is the additional hours of kindergarten provided in FDK better prepares children
for first grade which will result in decreased need for grade retention (Wang Johnstone, 1999).
Ideally, the extra time in the school day allows for teachers to provide a relaxed classroom
atmosphere in which children can experience kindergarten activities in a less hurried manner
(McConnell Tesch, 1986). The literature posits several negatives to the extra time

Analysis Of The Epic Of Old Mali
Erica Pangburn
Professor Timothy Fitzgerald
March 21, 2015
Primary Source Analysis
An Epic of Old Mali
Sundiata: an Epic of Old Mali was written by D.T. Niane and translated by G.C. Pickett. D.T.
Niane was a historian who received this version of Sundiata s epic from Djeli Mamoudou
KouyatГ©, a griot. In fact, there is not a true author for this epic due to the fact that it has been
transmitted orally for many years. This epic justly showed the type of culture Africa had at the time
taken place and has defined the type of people who use to reside there. Sundiata: an Epic of Old
Mali withholds many themes, but only some of importance: the transmission of the epic, politics,
religion, and destiny.
It can be argued that the orality of Sundiata versus the written translation is an important theme of
the epic of old Mali. This story has been translated several times into several different languages.
The epic of Sundiata originated as an oral epic performance that was performed by various African
griots or bards. It was a challenge translating the oral tradition into written form. Thus concluded
that orality is a better form of transmission than writing. Transmitting oral passages into writing can
be easily falsified. Oral communication is more unquestioning than writing. Interesting enough, the
griots are important persons who transmitted Sundiata: an Epic of Old Mali through many lineages.
Griots were not only historical orators, but they were also important political figures.

The Benefitions Of Hard Work In My Life
As a young child, my Mother always would tell me; If you want something work hard for it. It s
that simple. That saying was constantly being stated around the house when my brother or I
would want to achieve a certain goal in school, sports or anything. This saying has transformed
me over the years into the hard worker that I am to this day. Throughout my life coaches, family,
and teachers regularly told me to work hard and give 100% effort no matter what and I will
succeed. The characteristic of hard working and constantly giving outstanding effort describes
me as a person immensely because I consistently strive to achieve my goals. Ever since the age
of ten, my Mother told me do chores if I wanted extra money in order to buy anything my little
ten year old heart desired. She composed a chore list and pinned it to the fridge for me to earn a
little money, but only if I did the task the best I could. Although somehow my Mother can always
tell when my brother or I aren t giving our full potential. How? I am still unsure to this day, but
we never wanted the repercussions that came if one of us got caught slacking. Despite giving
100% effort and completing the chores the best I could for money seemed great, I happened to
have what seemed to be a mile long chore list. Overtime out of all my chores, I realized that my
main income from ages ten to fourteen involved scooping up the dog poop in our backyard for a
dollar per pile. Despite the gross appeal, picked up the dog s poop happened to become a steady
income rapidly. Everyday after school I made sure the yard was spotless so I could earn my
money. As years went on, I stopped getting paid to do household chores and they quickly became
an expectation since I live there. With no longer getting paid to do chores I would soon have to
get a job. Eventually I got a job, it was this past summer, I helped bail hay for my uncle and
helping out on his farm when needed. I made sure I was constantly giving a 100% effort to get
that job done because that s what my Mother taught me to do. Since I was consistently hard
working, he knew he could rely on me. Although a household chore and a real job may seem
different, I feel that I should work hard on any chore or job no

The Crisis Of The United States Of America
During the mid 2000s, the global economy was impacted by one of the biggest financial
catastrophes: the subprime mortgage crisis. The housing market in the United States of America
was on the decline and it indirectly affected Canada. This case study will provide an overview of
what happened before, during and after the crisis in order to obtain an understanding of what
could be applied to predict a better future for North America as a whole and Canada individually.
This case study also provides an opportunity to appreciate the strong Canadian banking system and
its goals to improve the overall growth of the economy.

Canadian banks were less involved in subprime lending activities due to the rules and regulations
Canada falls under which would consequently result in less of an impact. Regardless of the origin
of the crisis, changes in the U.S. economy result in an impact on Canada. Through an economic
perspective, there are many models that would analyze and identify current and potential threats
that could shield Canada. The data includes information prior and after the crisis.
Financial Innovations:
From the data discovered based on the increase of technology, it provided an understanding of the
traditional process of being granted or providing loans and mortgages. Banks traditionally grant
loans to individuals or businesses that meet specific credit requirements and would receive periodic
payments. This process continues until the loan is fully paid off. Due to the increase in technology,
banks were able to lower their costs for transactions by securitizing loans electronically. This
innovation allowed them to bundle up all small loans into a standard debt security, which then
could be bought and sold in the financial market. This led to a structured credit product offering that
generated large cash flows from a collection of underlying assets with certain risk management.
Investors had the opportunity to pick and choose what they wanted to purchase depending on their

Investment of management attention upon core business can detract from back office

Macbeth Paranoia Analysis
Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, details the effects of excessive ambition coupled with paranoia
through the tale of a heroic fighter, who forced his way to the position of king. As Macbeth and
Lady Macbeth discovered, ambition, when fueled by greed for power, leads to negative
consequences.
After Macbeth murdered King Duncan, paranoia quietly started creeping in. He thought that he
heard a voice cry, Sleep no more! Macbeth does murder sleep the innocent sleep directly following
the deed(2:2:53 56). As his paranoia increases, Macbeth convinces himself that being King is

Police Misconduct And Criminal Justice
Introduction Police executives have always had different issues within the police department.
Most police executives try to find a quick fix in order to solve the issue of police misconduct.
Police misconduct is defined as inappropriate action taken by police officers in relation with their
official duties (PoliceMisconduct Law Legal Definition, n.d.). In order to solve this issue, one must
acknowledge their different challenges, overcome the code of silence , and find out the role of
organizational culture.
Challenges Facing Police Executives There are many challenges facing the police executives in
the 21st century, such as civil disorder and criminal prosecution of officers. In recent years there
have been quite a few civil disorders. A civil disorder is a situation in which some citizens
behave in a way that threatens the wellbeing of other citizens or the peace of a community
(Cambridge Dictionaries, 2016). In the past seven years there has been a quite a few civil
disorders in the United States, such as the 2016 Donald Trump Chicago rally protest, the 2014
protest in Ferguson, Missouri, and the protests in New York, New York and Berkeley California
after a grand jury did not indict a police officer in the death of Eric Garner. Due to the causes of
some of these protests, the public have a distrust and lack of confidence in the law and the legal

Dive Mask Research Paper
SCUBA DIVING GEAR 101: The Basics As much as we, humans, would like to swim and dive
in open waters without any form of protection and aid, our anatomy just isn t perfectly designed
to handle underwater conditions for long amounts of time. This is where SCUBA Diving gear
comes in. SCUBA Diving gear allows us to see, breathe, swim and stay warm underwater. To
beginners, this stuff might look like it came from a sci fi alien invasion movie, so we ll discuss
each one to help you understand. The Dive Mask. This piece of equipment protects your eyes
from sea salt and other nasty sea stuff. But more importantly, the dive mask lets you ogle at the
beauty of the underwater world! The dive mask separates your eyes (and sometimes nose) from
water and creates an air pocket to let you see clearly underwater. The mask is fastened on the
diver s face because of something called elastomer skirt , but we don t have to worry about that
yet! All it means is that the water can t get through and your mask won t suddenly come off. The
Snorkel. It s like a straw, but instead of sucking water or beverage, we actually use this to breathe
through our mouths. The snorkel allows us to breathe while facing down when underwater. Some
models are even designed to allow us to expel the water that somehow gets in there. It is usually
used for short and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

it has a mouthpiece. However, the regulator is connected to the SCUBA tank and will allow you
to stay underwater for much longer. The octopus, on the other hand, is not a pet you can take with
you when you go diving (although I wish I could). It is a backup regulator, in case something goes

The Problem Of Social Psychology
Social psychology is the study of how people think, feel, and act as a result of being present
among others. At times, a direct contact is not required to fully influence a person. The imagined
or implied presence of others is sufficient to carry out a full effect on another person. Examples to
portray how the impact of others can have an authority over the way we function socially can be
found almost anywhere around us. The media is filled with many examples from recent headlines
that may offer an illustration of this phenomenon. In recent news, the National Public Radio (NPR),
a non profit membership media organization, aired an interview discussing Syrias bloody civil war.
With more than four million people who have fled the country thus far, it has easily been named
one of the worst refugeesituations in history. Millions more have also been displaced within
Syria. Although we rarely hear from the people inside, NPR was able to air an interview it
conducted with one of the citizens who lives in the broken country. Saeed al Batal, a
photographer and filmmaker who did not use his real name for security reasons, reveals how
horrific the experiences currently are in Syria. In this paper, the transcript of the interview will be

A Deeper Look Into Indiana s Law
A Deeper Look into Indiana s Law Many thoughts should run through one s mind as they skim
through The Editorial Board of Terre Haute Tribune Star s It s time to expand Indiana s civil rights
law editorial piece. This editorial presents many flaws that can be spotted with one read through.
The opinion piece is written with good intentions; however, The Board commits quite a few errors
in the delivery. Inconsistencies and appeals to an already sympathetic audience make it difficult for
this editorialto convince any skeptics to switch sides on the issues that are raised. While The
Board was obviously passionate about this writing, the editorial is not effective due to
insufficient evidence and only one viewpoint among other oversights. This piece tries to raise
concerns about Indiana s wellbeing and shortcomings that all relate back to one law, the
Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), which gives businesses the right to exercise their
religious beliefs when running their operations. Unsupported evidence is one of the major
setbacks in this mission of The Board. It begins when The Board said, But RFRA backfired (par.
4) ( It s time to expand Indiana s civil rights law ). There is no solid evidence of this assertion
throughout the remainder of the editorial with only one weak sentence to follow that statement
which says, Despite attempts to fix it, Indiana continues to pay for it through lost economic

The Demise Of Macbeth In Shakespeare s Play
In Shakespeare s play, Macbeth, there are a series of incidents that lead to the demise of the main
character, Macbeth, starting with the murder of King Duncan due to Macbeth s determination to
obtain the throne. During Acts three and four of the play, Macbeth has already committed multiple
murders and unspeakable acts in order to remain Thane of Cawdor. Having Banquo, his friend and
war partner murdered is a critical moment in the story as it conveys Macbeths choices, made by his
own free will, as well as marking his point of no return. Initially Macbeth is a war hero, saving
Scotland from the King of Norway. Macbeth is a warrior, not a killer nor does he want to rule
however he is informed by three witches called the weird sisters that he shall become Thane of
Cawdor although he is not the heir to the throne. After telling his wife, Lady Macbeth, this
prophecy the two debates as to whether the prophecy could even become true considering the
current king, Duncan, is a satisfactory leader and his son is appointed as heir. Lady Macbeth
convinces Macbeth to killDuncan and then give a suggestion to the other lords to place him as

What Is Unionization In Canada
state of unions in Canada and their inability to sustain themselves which led them to engage in

It has to be noted that companies such as Walmart employ the highest number of employees
compared to other local companies and so they try to minimize any costs related to their
workforce, especially the costs caused by unionization amongst their workers (Littlemore 2013).
These companies, due to their significant presence in various continents and their deep pockets,
are able to easily crush any efforts towards unionization at their stores (Littlemore 2013). Adding in
the factors of expenses that temporary workers pay to employment agencies to get hired and to
form a union, temporary workers stand little chance against their influential and rich employers. We
know that setting up a union involves contributing a certain amount of their wages for union dues
and there are some expenses related to service the union as well (Littlemore 2013). How then, can
we expect contingent workers to contribute to unions and also get through daily expenses with the
meager wages that they earn. These workers are trapped in a vicious loop that only increases their
helplessness and reduces their chances of entering unions to achieve a higher standard of living.
Multi national companies have started to focus on their HR departments and initiated benefit plans
and employee schemes for their workers. These schemes are supposed to reflect the amount of care
and responsibility that firms have for their workers but the reality is that these schemes are simple

Chinese Philosophy Essay
Three areas of philosophy emerged amidst the chaos and constant warring of the Zhou era. The
three were called Confucianism, Daoism, and legalism. They were Chinese philosophies that
were thought to be the best ways to rule and achieve order in the society. Confucianism believed
that a ruler s job was to set a good example, and not order. Since people were thought of as
naturally good, they would following the right path based on their own conscience. Legalism was
a more harsh way of ruling, led by Hanfeizi. They thought people were evil, and needed strict laws
and punishment to keep them in line. Daoism was very different from either of the other two. It
was led by Laozi, who taught that the best kind of government was one who governed... Show more

At first, Confucianism was unsuccessful and Confucius, during his lifetime only managed to collect
a few followers. After his death, however, his followers passed on the Confucian tradition. It
survived, with a few changes, to the Han dynasty (221 BC) and became established as China s
official philosophy. From then it was firmly well established in Chinese culture, and its values can
still be seen today. The Five Classics of Confucianism were works from the Zhou Dynasty, which
preceded the Warring States Period. They were collected and edited by members of the original
Confucian school. After Confucianism became the official state philosophy, one had to know the
philosophy well in order to gain the coveted position of government official.
The Analects are a collection of sayings by Confucius, recorded by his disciples. As a result, the
Analects are not a widespread proposal of Confucianism. Rather, it is a collection of quotations and
stories. Because of this, Confucianism according to Confucius is open to interpretation. The main
idea of the philosophy is, righteousness, relationships and generosity towards others. Since the time
of the Han dynasty (206 CE) four life passages have been recognized and regulated by Confucian
tradition. There are approximately 6 million Confucians in the world. About 26,000 live

Smart Fat Research Paper
Fat is often labeled as the reason for obesity however it seems like there is sufficient proof that fat
in itself does not cause weight gain. In 1977, the Senate Select Committee on Nutrition and Human
Needs recommended a dietary guideline that limited fat intake to no more than 30% per day.
According to statistics, the instances of obesity started to increase around the same time fat was
villanized and low fat products became more popular. Furthermore, similar studies claim that the
war on fat led people to substitute butter and lard with processed low fat food which are high in
artificial flavoring and sugar.
More and more health enthusiasts are learning that not all fat is bad for the body. In fact, recently
Dr. Jonny Bowden and Dr. Steven Masley, a nutritionexperts, published their book entitled Smart

people who embrark on a high fat, low carb diet is not including enough fiber in their meal plan.
According to the doctor, fiber helps in the weight loss process and it prevents diabetes and heart

Essay on The Dictators
The twentieth century, unlike any other before it, saw dramatic changes in many different areas
such as science, technology, politics, religion, and society. One of the most important and definitely
the most obvious change is the increasing deadliness of war. Granted, people have died in wars
from the very beginning, but in the twentieth century wars began to generate much higher body
counts both among the contending armies and among civilian populations, the latter being the most
drastic change in number of casualties. Similarly, in the twentieth century, two opposing
dictatorships arose. Although both had many similarities, they represented the culmination of two
different political ideologies that had flourished in Europe since the... Show more content on

Richard Overy s stunningly detailed and well crafted study of this dichotomy, The Dictators,
illuminates it for even the uninitiated in the world of European or Global History. One
particular aspect that clearly illustrates both the similarities and the differences is the ideological
goals of each regime. Despite the fact that they were on two opposite sides of the political
spectrum, the similarities between the two show that they may not have been as opposite has
they appear. One of the goals was the creation of a utopian society. The social vision at the heart
of both dictatorships was utopian in a very literal sense. Like the construction of Thomas More s
ideal city, both pursued the perfect society by compelling their subjects to struggle against the
imperfect present (Overy 229). The precise type of utopian society, however, was a major point of
distinction. Hitler sought to form a nationalist Germany in which everything, from the economy to
the church, was subordinate to the needs of the state. The state must act, wrote Hitler, as a guardian
of a millennial future in the face of which the wishes and selfishness of the individual must appear
as nothing and submit (Overy 229). Stalin, on the other hand, sought to follow the ideals of Marx
and form the ideal Marxist Leninist state. The socialist project under Stalin was built on the idea of
struggle against the surviving elements of class selfishness and the eventual triumph of a

Essay On The Conch Shell In Lord Of The Flies
A group of young British boys is stranded on an island with little to no supplies, besides a silly
shell, and a fire to keep their hope alive. In William Golding s Lord of the Flies, a group of British
boys were shot out of an airplane and landed on a strange island, all separated from each other. It is
a very interesting novelwhich includes a series of intense and sad events that all play a part in
leading the group of boys to their rescue off of the island. The group of boys has also come across
multiple items which represent a larger and influential idea towards the reader. The fire, conch, and
the specs which belong to Piggy. The symbolic conch shell in Lord of the Flies evolved its meaning
throughout the novel seeing that it first represented order, became power, and ultimately a loss of
civilizationthrough the course of the book.
To begin, throughout the beginning of Lord of the Flies, the conch shell becomes a symbol of
order and unity. After their tragic plane crash, one element that brought the boys together was the
conch shell. One of the main characters, Ralph, used the conch shell to call anyone else who is
on the island, which resulted in the other boys being found and a tribe being formed. When Ralph
was voted chief, he started to create rules that were based around the conch. Ralph picked up the

Bandura Child Development
Throughout the session, there were signs of different theorists portrayed. One of them was
Bandura, social learning theory. Bandura states that children learn through their environment
through the surrounding people, meaning, children see people around them which led them to
behave in various ways (MacLeod, 2016). This illustrated through the Bobo doll experiment
(Bandura, 1961). When Phoebe started to use the breath level technique with Gabriel she had
managed to get his attention, and when she did, he would copy her, give more eye contact and
smile. Gabriel also started to share as he saw others doing the same, this process called modelling.

Automobiles and Technology in the Prosperous 1920s.
During the 1920s the nation prospered under wealth and happiness, something never attainable
during or before the wartime. A large increase in income for Americans meant that they were able
to afford more appliances like a toaster or a car. Prices dropped with industrial innovations like the
moving assembly line. With these new prices, people could buy more per dollar. Henry Ford s,
The Ford Motor Company is an example of a business that prospered in the 1920s. The innovation
of Ford s Model T allowed many Americans to explore the country and experience being on the
road. Along with these new products and appliances, businesses made a new form of payment,
credit, which allowed people to pay less up front to use the money they save for other things like
food. The 1920s were known as a time of prosperity and inventions and technology such as the
automobile helped improve American lives for the better.
Businesses prospered when their products were sold at reasonable margins and due to mass
consumerism, they made quick profits. Especially in the 1920s as the national average income rose,
more people bought more things. Corporate elites built a new more consumer oriented, business
philosophy (Scott). This philosophy included the option to buy on a plan called credit. Shoppers
now have credit in the form of installment payment plans (Scott). Having to

know when Coach makes reservations, they are here to impress and please Coach and the team.

Emily Dickinson s Different Views On Death
Emily Dickinson s Different Views on Death Death is inevitable, although many of us push it to
the back of our heads its eventually going to happen. Poet Emily Dickinson accepted this, and
enjoyed writing over half of her poems about death. We all think about death in different ways it
scares a lot of us, but those of us who are religious look forward to the afterlife in heaven, and are
grateful for the mortal life that we lived. Therefore, some of these poems depicted deathas being a
lonely ominous journey, while other poems displayed death as being an enjoyable ride from one
life to another. Dickinson changes her views on death as she grows older, and seems to be less
fearful of death. We can see this in her poems with the similar theme of death in, I heard a fly buss

VEDIC MULTIPLIER
The Vedic mathematics applicable over complex calculation, it reduces the typical calculation into
a very simple one. This is so because the Vedic formulae are claimed to be based on the natural
principles on which the human mind works. Vedic Mathematics is a methodology of arithmetic
rules that allow more efficient speed implementation. It also provides some effective algorithms
which can be applied to various branches of engineering such as computing.
1)UrdhvaTiryakbhyam Sutra
The Vedic multiplier is depends on the UrdhvaTiryagbhyam sutra (algorithm). These Sutras have
been traditionally used for the multiplication of two numbers in the decimal number system. In this
work, we apply the same ideas to the binary number system to make the proposed algorithm
compatible with the digital hardware. It is a general multiplication formula applicable to all

Analysis of Soda Ash and Carbonate-Bicarbonate Mixture
Analysis of Soda Ash and Carbonate Bicarbonate Mixture
Submitted: February 27, 2013
Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering

EspaГ±a, Manila
Abstract
A standard acid solution like HCl can be used as titrant for the analysis of both soda ash and a
carbonate bicarbonate mixture. In the analysis of soda ash, the volume needed to neutralize the soda
ash is used to compute for its alkalinity, in this experiment we obtained a 17.6 % alkalinity with an
error of 15.14% In the analysis of a carbonate bicarbonate mixture two indicators (phenolphthalein
and methyl orange) were used. The first endpoint determines the half neutralization of the carbonate
and the second determines that of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Three trials were made and the average percentage alkalinity was reported.
Analysis of Carbonate Bicarbonate Mixture For this experiment, a pH meter was used so this part
of the experiment began with the calibration of the pH meter with specified buffers. The buret was
then filled with the standard HCl solution and a set up for titration was prepared. 200g of the
carbonate bicarbonate solid sample was weighed and dissolved in 100 mL of distilled water. The
sample solution was then transferred into a 250 ml volumetric flask and was diluted to the 250
mL mark. The flask was inverted several times for uniform mixing. A 50 mL aliquot of the sample
solution was measured and placed unto a beaker. 3 drops of the phenolphthalein indicator was
added to the solution in the beaker. The electrode of the pH meter was then immersed in the beaker
and the solution containing the carbonate bicarbonate mixture was titrated with the standard HCl
solution to the phenolphthalein endpoint. Readings of the pH were taken at an interval of 0.5 mL
addition of the titrant. After the first endpoint is obtained, 3 drops of the methyl orange was added
to the same solution and was titrated with the standard acid until the formation of an orange colored
solution. Readings of the pH were also taken at 0.5 mL addition of the titrant. Results and Discussion
In the standardization of the HCl solution, the

U.S. Bombing of North Vietnam
On February 24, 1965, United States President Lyndon B. Johnson authorized Operation ROLLING
THUNDER to commence against North Vietnam. ROLLING THUNDER, the longest bombing
campaign ever conducted by the United States Air Force, lasted from 1965 to 1968. (Tilford,
Operation ROLLING THUNDER ) There were several reasons why President Johnson chose to
begin an all out bombing campaign against North Vietnam at this time. The United States wanted to
prevent the spread of communism by enforcing the containment of communism via President Harry
S. Truman s Domino Theory. (Cunningham) The United States wanted to support South Vietnam s
right to self government, free elections, and freedom from religious persecution. (Fasanaro)

forces. ( National Security Council: Study on U.S. Policy on All Vietnam Elections ) In addition,
the United States of America, a country founded on the basis of religious freedom, had difficulty
with the persecution of Buddhists in South Vietnam. South Vietnamese president, Ngo Dinh Diem,
who was raised Catholic, refused to repeal anti Buddhist laws even though Buddhism was the
predominant religion in South Vietnam. The last straw for the Buddhists was when they were
prohibited by the South Vietnamese government from carrying flags on Buddha s birthday. In
protest, a Buddhist monk set himself on fire and thirty additional monks were killed in a
government raid. (Willbanks) President Johnson ordered the bombing of North Vietnam in part to
strengthen world order. The Geneva Conference, lasting from April to July of 1954, was convened
to restore peace and end hostilities in Indo China. The Geneva Accords called for Vietnam to be
split at the 17th Parallel, with the communists controlling the northern portion and the non
communists controlling the southern portion, and for an election to be held within two years to
rejoin the two portions of Vietnam. The Geneva Conference also called for the sovereignty,
independence, and unity of Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia to be respected. ( Final Declaration of
the Geneva Conference on Indo China ) The Geneva Accords were not signed by the United States

The Themes Of Fear In Ballad Of Birmingham, By Dudley Randall
Various poems project vividness by the specific descriptive words that are written by the poets.
These simple words not only create vivid scenes, but also have a lively breathe. From a bombing,
to a glimpse of faith, to a rather strange situation, the words written in these poems will make the
reader want to hold their breath. The mood in the poems Ballad of Birmingham, Since there s no
help, and When my love swears that she is made of truth robustly reveal author s purpose on the
topics of fear, hope, and contentment, which embody the three most essential emotions that
describe human nature.
In the Ballad of Birmingham, by Dudley Randall, the mood of fear is presented. From end to
finish, the sprinkle of intense expressive words strongly shape the mood in this poem, instilling
fear in not only the characters but the audience as well. The point where the poem peaks is when
the author creates a jarringly suspenseful moment when he states For when she heard the
explosion, Her eyes grew wet and wild. The heavy words presented such as explosion, wild, and
fire, show the level of fear the mother felt; almost breathtaking. Randall uses the dialogue between
the mother and daughter to deceive the audience by allowing them to believe that the child will be
going safely to church but then instantly deviates the situation into something horrid in a matter of
a few words. Deviating the mood enables Dudley Randall to depict how fear is an essential emotion.
The Ballad of Birmingham was written in response to a bombing that occurred in Birmingham,
Alabama on September 15th, 1963. The mood Dudley Randall creates in his poem adequately
describes the panic and the disruption of the people on that fateful day while creating a compelling
perspective of one of the victims and her mother. The article talks in detail about the events of the
bombing and how often bombs occurred in Birmingham. In fact, bombings occurred so frequently
that the town got dubbed Bombingham. A specific detail that was written in the article that points
to the topic of this poem is when it states that beneath ...piles of debris in the church basement, the
dead bodies of four girls... had been discovered. This historical evidence is crucial

Romantic Music Period
Did music ever reach a point to where all restraints seemed cast off and composers had the
opportunity to express musical freedom? Similar to the emotional and intense paintings done
through this time, the music during the Romantic Period also expressed heightened passion and
paralleled the trends in art. It lasted from circa 1825 1900. Looking at the musicians during this
time, the purpose of the music, and the things that characterized Romantic music, one will see how
things changed from the previous Classical period. Many of the great, famed musicians now
known today lived during the Romantic period. Some of the better known names included
Rossini, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, and Brahms. Gioachino Rossini, known for his
piece, The Barber of Seville, excelled in operas. His overtures grew to be extremely popular
pieces as well and are still played to this day. Felix Mendelssohn started his career early in life
and grew famous off his own overtures as well. Connecting with nature as many of the Romantic
composers, he composed the Fingal s Cave Overture which mirrors the waves and coasts of
Scotland. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovskygained his fame as the most well known Russian composer
through his ballets, such as Swan Lake and the Nutcracker Suite. FrГ©dГ©ric Chopin had many
different famous pieces with Nocturne No. 9 and Scherzo for piano No. 2 in B flat minor gaining
a place above the rest. His music left him as one of the most significant Romantic composers.

Italy Balance Of Power Essay
1. In order for Italy to have the balance of power, they allowed large cities to use diplomacy,
spies, paid informers, and any other way to get information that could be used to advance some of
their ambitions while the states of northern Europe would move toward centralization and
consolidation. This would allow one Italian state to appear to gain a strong position within the
peninsula and to have other states combine to be able to establish a balance of power which helps
use this power against the major threats. During the balance of power, Italians invented the
machinery of modern diplomacy which allowed the ambassadors to gain more power. By having

This happens because steroids lower the bodies level of cortisol. This acts as a hormone that the
adrenal gland discharges when a person feels stressed. The hormone can cause a lot of problems

When the amount of cortisol in the body lowers, people start to gain muscle and strength

Persuasive Essay On Surfboarding
Imagine you are at the beach. You are laying down a towel and setting up an umbrella when
something catches your eye. Out in the ocean you see a surfer catching some waves, and it looks
so fun and exciting that you almost grab a board and join in. However you don t know how to surf
and would rather not embarrass yourself in front of all these beach goers. Surfing, however, isn t
complicated at all and can be accomplished in these simple steps. Firstly, you need to get the
proper equipment. You will, of course, need a surfboard. The fun board, as well as the foam
board, is recommended for beginners. They are easy to balance and turn on. After you have
your board, you need to get a leash. It is an essential equipment to have because it makes sure
your board does not float away. Surfboard wax is also important because it keeps you from
slipping off your board, so make sure to get it. Now that you have gathered all the materials, it is
time to prepare yourself. To prepare, you can do yoga. Yoga will help you gain upper body
strength allowing you to paddle and pop up on your board faster. Besides yoga, you also need to
practice your balance. Spending some time on a wakeboard or skateboard will help. After you
practice this, you need to find your stance on the surfboard. To do this, get a skateboard or a
surfboard, and stand parallel to it. If you are using a surfboard, put something under it to keep the
fins off the ground. Place one foot in the back and the other

Ravana uses prayer to gain power; With this power, he attempts to destroy all worlds and
enslave the gods. The ten headed Ravana and his brothers have acquired from us extraordinary
powers through austerities and prayers, and now they threaten to destroy our worlds and
enslave us (Narayan 4). Ravana is impacted by prayer as he uses this to gain powerful weapons
from the gods. This impacts his life as he misuses the power and the gods need to stop him. This
also impacts Rama as he incarnated because of this. Without the use of prayer to the gods in the
Ramayana, Rama would not exist and Ravana would not have the powerful weapons he does.
The gods need to stop Ravana before the worlds are destroyed and Vishnu creates a plan. The
gods gather and create a plan to have Vishnu incarnate as Rama to kill Ravana. Whereupon
Vishnu promised, Ravana can be destroyed only by a human being since he has never asked for
protection against a human being. I shall incarnate as Dasaratha s son (Narayan 4). Ravana not
only gains power through prayer, but the gods find a solution in what he does not pray for. If
Ravana prays for protection from humans, Rama is not incarnated because Vishnu cannot kill him
as a human. Therefore, without Ravana s prayer to the gods, Rama is not present in the epic.

The Effect of Hydrogen Peroxide Concentration on Catalase...
Introduction
H2O2 is commonly known as hydrogen peroxide and it is a strong oxidizer and a naturally
produced compound in humans as a by product of oxidative metabolism. Because of this, humans
also produce the enzyme catalase peroxidases in order to convert small amounts of H2O2 into
oxygen and water. It uses the following chemical formula:
2H_2 O_2в†’O_2+гЂ–2HгЂ—_2 O
This process is called decomposition as two hydrogen peroxide molecules are broken down into
oxygen and two water molecules.
Catalase is an important enzyme that protects cells from oxidative damage, which hydrogen
peroxide can cause. It is an incredibly efficient enzyme where one catalase molecule can convert
millions of hydrogen peroxide molecules each second.
This experiment looked at how substrate concentration can affect enzyme activity. In this case the
substrate was hydrogen peroxide and the enzyme was catalase. Pieces of meat providing the
catalase were added to increasing concentrations of hydrogen peroxide in order to measure the
effect of hydrogen peroxide concentrations on the enzyme s activity. The variable measured was
oxygen produced, as water would be too difficult to measure with basic equipment.
Research Question
What is the effect of the concentration of a hydrogen peroxide solution on catalase activity?
Hypothesis
The hypothesis is that catalase activity will increase exponentially with higher concentrations of
hydrogen peroxide until all catalase active sites are filled, in which case the

beaten, or killed for the simple incompletion of a task. Women had no rights and were used for
cooking, for cleaning, and for the creation and nurturing of babies. There were often instances of
lynching and burnings of African Americans simply because of their skin color. Slaveryis uniquely

  • 2. Sidney Grigg In this day and age, a plentitude of young people crave the fast track to fame and fortune, and this means that they often seek jobs within the entertainemnt community. Without any difficulty, they expect to become an overnight success because they are, by their own admission, so cool. Thankfully, there are young actors like Sidney Grigg, who are willing to invest the time and resources required to ensure longevity and eventual success. In Sidney s case, she has had some tremendous experiences already, and recently she related some of those stories to me as she explained how she began in this business and even how she keeps herself motivated and grounded in a career that requires intense fortitude. wp 1473054569712.png RH: What inspired ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Plus, some of my best friends are actors too, and so we all support each other! It s funny though we usually never talk about acting when we hang out. Lots of people at school that I hang out with still don t even know I act. The kids I m around, including myself, do other things like hockey and dance and school sports, and one is not more important than the other. We are all really happy for each other when we do well at things and are there for each other when we have tough times. What is your advice to other young people who wish to become actors? My advice would be to take acting classes and do short films to see if you like it! It s different than most people think. It s hard work and long hours, and you do have to miss out on things if you have auditions or are filmin,g so you have to love it! My mom made me do about six short films before she would let me get an agent! What do you like to do in your free time? I love hanging out with my friends, going to my grandparents cottage and travelling! I also take dance classes jazz and hip hop. Living in Vancouver is awesome because there is so much to do! Essay On Industrial Relations State Business Relations and Performance of Manufacturing Sector In Karnataka *Dr.Sathyanarayana Assistant Professor in Commerce Government First Grade College Hosakote, Bangalore Rural Mail:sathyanarayana80@gmail.com ** Prof.THARAMATHI.D Assistant Professor in Economics Government First Grade College Hosakote, Bangalore Rural Abstract Industrialization is both a policy and a process. It is a policy in the sense that the business groups in a given society, based on its calculations of the market conditions, government regulations and societal conditions decide either in favor of or against such a move. It is a process in the sense that business groups, in its venture towards industrialization tend to constantly interact with various organizations such as the government, trade unions, economic organizations and also the members of the civil society in fact, economy itself is embedded in civil society (Moran, 2006). Broadly speaking, we can identify two major actors or players who play important roles in the industrialization processes of the state the Government and the business community. We call them organizations as they are characterized by recognized principles of sovereignty, exclusiveness and command structures of their own (Leftwich, 2006). Nevertheless, they are controlled in their activities by the institutional framework, consisting of rules, norms and conviction, within which they are expected to operate. It is against this background that it becomes highly essential to understand the nature and status of industrial development in the state of Andhra Pradesh with respect to the state s policy incentives or disincentives. Further, we intend to concentrate on the role of the government in Karnataka, in initiating the processes of reinventing the industrial sector in general and the manufacturing sector in particular. The policy of re industrialization and re emphasis on manufacturing assumed importance as the probable response to certain critical conditions such ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Confidential And Proprietary Information Case Study In 2012, Hanjuan Jin attempted to leave the country with 30,000 dollars in cash as well as some documents from Motorola that were clearly labeled confidential and proprietary information . Not only did Jin have information about Motorola s trade secrets, she also had documents from the Chinese military, which could lead some people to believe that she was doing this for the Chinese government, especially because she had a one way ticket to China. Soon after this took place she was arrested and then sentenced to 4 years in prison for stealing trade secrets which involved Motorola telecommunication. The judge however did not believe that the military documents were enough to convict her that she was attempting to benefit the Chinese government; ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Half Day Vs. Full Day Kindergarten Half Day Vs. Full Day Kindergarten: How a Southwest Washington Elementary School Score s Measure Up The popularity of full day kindergarten (FDK) has grown over recent decades. The number of students attending FDK in the United States (US) has escalated from 30% in the early 1980 s to 55% by 1998 (Walston West, 2004), to 77% reported in 2011. This increase can be posited as a reflection of societal changes and newly emerging educational priorities stemming from papers and reforms such as 1983 s A Nation at Risk and 2001 s No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) which have increased focus on standards and accountability through high stakes testing. The rigorous standards and associated accountability have created a demand for more time... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most education stakeholders support the extended day of FDK because they believe it provides long term and short term academic advantages, behavioral benefits, as well as support to parents in the workforce. Length of Day There have been positive and negative outcomes found in the literature associated with the additional time a FDK student experiences. Early childhood theorists such as Piaget and Vygotsky speculate that larger blocks of time are necessary for young children to engage in the process of learning (Eliott, Kratochwill, Littlefield, Travers, 1996). Cooper, Allen, Patall, and Dent (2010) state that benefits of FDK include higher academic achievement, fewer grade retentions, easier transitions into first grade, better socialization and self esteem, less hurried instruction, fewer transitions, lower child care costs, more learning opportunities for low income children, and greater academic quality. A major argument repeated in the literature is the additional hours of kindergarten provided in FDK better prepares children for first grade which will result in decreased need for grade retention (Wang Johnstone, 1999). Ideally, the extra time in the school day allows for teachers to provide a relaxed classroom atmosphere in which children can experience kindergarten activities in a less hurried manner (McConnell Tesch, 1986). The literature posits several negatives to the extra time ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Analysis Of The Epic Of Old Mali Erica Pangburn Professor Timothy Fitzgerald March 21, 2015 Primary Source Analysis An Epic of Old Mali Sundiata: an Epic of Old Mali was written by D.T. Niane and translated by G.C. Pickett. D.T. Niane was a historian who received this version of Sundiata s epic from Djeli Mamoudou KouyatГ©, a griot. In fact, there is not a true author for this epic due to the fact that it has been transmitted orally for many years. This epic justly showed the type of culture Africa had at the time taken place and has defined the type of people who use to reside there. Sundiata: an Epic of Old Mali withholds many themes, but only some of importance: the transmission of the epic, politics, religion, and destiny. It can be argued that the orality of Sundiata versus the written translation is an important theme of the epic of old Mali. This story has been translated several times into several different languages. The epic of Sundiata originated as an oral epic performance that was performed by various African griots or bards. It was a challenge translating the oral tradition into written form. Thus concluded that orality is a better form of transmission than writing. Transmitting oral passages into writing can be easily falsified. Oral communication is more unquestioning than writing. Interesting enough, the griots are important persons who transmitted Sundiata: an Epic of Old Mali through many lineages. Griots were not only historical orators, but they were also important political figures. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Benefitions Of Hard Work In My Life As a young child, my Mother always would tell me; If you want something work hard for it. It s that simple. That saying was constantly being stated around the house when my brother or I would want to achieve a certain goal in school, sports or anything. This saying has transformed me over the years into the hard worker that I am to this day. Throughout my life coaches, family, and teachers regularly told me to work hard and give 100% effort no matter what and I will succeed. The characteristic of hard working and constantly giving outstanding effort describes me as a person immensely because I consistently strive to achieve my goals. Ever since the age of ten, my Mother told me do chores if I wanted extra money in order to buy anything my little ten year old heart desired. She composed a chore list and pinned it to the fridge for me to earn a little money, but only if I did the task the best I could. Although somehow my Mother can always tell when my brother or I aren t giving our full potential. How? I am still unsure to this day, but we never wanted the repercussions that came if one of us got caught slacking. Despite giving 100% effort and completing the chores the best I could for money seemed great, I happened to have what seemed to be a mile long chore list. Overtime out of all my chores, I realized that my main income from ages ten to fourteen involved scooping up the dog poop in our backyard for a dollar per pile. Despite the gross appeal, picked up the dog s poop happened to become a steady income rapidly. Everyday after school I made sure the yard was spotless so I could earn my money. As years went on, I stopped getting paid to do household chores and they quickly became an expectation since I live there. With no longer getting paid to do chores I would soon have to get a job. Eventually I got a job, it was this past summer, I helped bail hay for my uncle and helping out on his farm when needed. I made sure I was constantly giving a 100% effort to get that job done because that s what my Mother taught me to do. Since I was consistently hard working, he knew he could rely on me. Although a household chore and a real job may seem different, I feel that I should work hard on any chore or job no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Canadian banks were less involved in subprime lending activities due to the rules and regulations Canada falls under which would consequently result in less of an impact. Regardless of the origin of the crisis, changes in the U.S. economy result in an impact on Canada. Through an economic perspective, there are many models that would analyze and identify current and potential threats that could shield Canada. The data includes information prior and after the crisis. Financial Innovations: From the data discovered based on the increase of technology, it provided an understanding of the traditional process of being granted or providing loans and mortgages. Banks traditionally grant loans to individuals or businesses that meet specific credit requirements and would receive periodic payments. This process continues until the loan is fully paid off. Due to the increase in technology, banks were able to lower their costs for transactions by securitizing loans electronically. This innovation allowed them to bundle up all small loans into a standard debt security, which then could be bought and sold in the financial market. This led to a structured credit product offering that generated large cash flows from a collection of underlying assets with certain risk management. Despite the fact that they were on two opposite sides of the political spectrum, the similarities between the two show that they may not have been as opposite has they appear. One of the goals was the creation of a utopian society. The social vision at the heart of both dictatorships was utopian in a very literal sense. Like the construction of Thomas More s ideal city, both pursued the perfect society by compelling their subjects to struggle against the imperfect present (Overy 229). The precise type of utopian society, however, was a major point of distinction. Hitler sought to form a nationalist Germany in which everything, from the economy to the church, was subordinate to the needs of the state. The state must act, wrote Hitler, as a guardian of a millennial future in the face of which the wishes and selfishness of the individual must appear as nothing and submit (Overy 229). Poet Emily Dickinson accepted this, and enjoyed writing over half of her poems about death. We all think about death in different ways it scares a lot of us, but those of us who are religious look forward to the afterlife in heaven, and are grateful for the mortal life that we lived. It also provides some effective algorithms which can be applied to various branches of engineering such as computing. 1)UrdhvaTiryakbhyam Sutra The Vedic multiplier is depends on the UrdhvaTiryagbhyam sutra (algorithm). These Sutras have been traditionally used for the multiplication of two numbers in the decimal number system. In this work, we apply the same ideas to the binary number system to make the proposed algorithm compatible with the digital hardware. It is a general multiplication formula applicable to all cases of multiplication. It literally means Vertically and Crosswise . It is based on a novel concept through which the generation of all partial products can be done with the concurrent addition of these partial products. The algorithm can be generalized for n x n bit number. Since the partial products and their sums are calculated in parallel, the multiplier is independent of the clock frequency of the processor. Due to its regular structure, it can be easily layout in microprocessors and designers can easily circumvent these problems to avoid catastrophic device failures. The processing power of multiplier can easily be increased by increasing the input and output data bus widths since it has a quite a regular structure. • 44. The Themes Of Fear In Ballad Of Birmingham, By Dudley Randall Various poems project vividness by the specific descriptive words that are written by the poets. These simple words not only create vivid scenes, but also have a lively breathe. From a bombing, to a glimpse of faith, to a rather strange situation, the words written in these poems will make the reader want to hold their breath. The mood in the poems Ballad of Birmingham, Since there s no help, and When my love swears that she is made of truth robustly reveal author s purpose on the topics of fear, hope, and contentment, which embody the three most essential emotions that describe human nature. In the Ballad of Birmingham, by Dudley Randall, the mood of fear is presented. From end to finish, the sprinkle of intense expressive words strongly shape the mood in this poem, instilling fear in not only the characters but the audience as well. The point where the poem peaks is when the author creates a jarringly suspenseful moment when he states For when she heard the explosion, Her eyes grew wet and wild. The heavy words presented such as explosion, wild, and fire, show the level of fear the mother felt; almost breathtaking. Randall uses the dialogue between the mother and daughter to deceive the audience by allowing them to believe that the child will be going safely to church but then instantly deviates the situation into something horrid in a matter of a few words. Deviating the mood enables Dudley Randall to depict how fear is an essential emotion. The Ballad of Birmingham was written in response to a bombing that occurred in Birmingham, Alabama on September 15th, 1963. The mood Dudley Randall creates in his poem adequately describes the panic and the disruption of the people on that fateful day while creating a compelling perspective of one of the victims and her mother. The article talks in detail about the events of the bombing and how often bombs occurred in Birmingham. In fact, bombings occurred so frequently that the town got dubbed Bombingham. Introduction H2O2 is commonly known as hydrogen peroxide and it is a strong oxidizer and a naturally produced compound in humans as a by product of oxidative metabolism. Because of this, humans also produce the enzyme catalase peroxidases in order to convert small amounts of H2O2 into oxygen and water. It uses the following chemical formula: 2H_2 O_2в†’O_2+гЂ–2HгЂ—_2 O This process is called decomposition as two hydrogen peroxide molecules are broken down into oxygen and two water molecules. Catalase is an important enzyme that protects cells from oxidative damage, which hydrogen peroxide can cause. It is an incredibly efficient enzyme where one catalase molecule can convert millions of hydrogen peroxide molecules each second. This experiment looked at how substrate concentration can affect enzyme activity. In this case the substrate was hydrogen peroxide and the enzyme was catalase. Pieces of meat providing the catalase were added to increasing concentrations of hydrogen peroxide in order to measure the effect of hydrogen peroxide concentrations on the enzyme s activity. The variable measured was oxygen produced, as water would be too difficult to measure with basic equipment.
