Research Methods Of Health And Social Care
Research Methods in Health and Social Care
Throughout research in Health and social care settings, there are many implications with the research,
which takes place. Many research methods include ethical issues which have to be considered when
conducting research. Ethical issues need to be considered when research is being conducted, in all
methods of conducting the research information.
One method of research is using interviews. For example, when using interviews in a care home, when
conducting research, many ethical issues can be raised. Interviews not only take place face to face, but
also can happen on the phone, online, through text messaging, using a video messenger and though
social media. Interviews are a very useful way of collecting information because a wide range of
detailed information can be collected at a large quantity. There are two types of interviews: structured
or unstructured.
Structured interviews are where the interviewer has already pre planned the questions that they will
use in the interview. This is useful because the interview can be repeated, as the questions are
standardised.
Unstructured interviews are not made up of prepared questions. The interviewer will ask more open
questions about board topics and then use follow up questions to gain more answers in further detail.
This method of interview is time consuming however it enables the interviewee to answer questions in
more detail and depth. It is possible that audio recordings can be

Cherokee Indian History Research Paper
In the year of 1827 the Cherokee Indians declared themselves a nation by drafting a constitution. The
discovery of gold was made just after the creation and passage of the original Cherokee Constitution (
A Brief History of the Trail of Tears 1 ). Aware that the native Indian land was in danger of being
encroached upon by new settlers, the Indians went to the government to create an arrangement to
protect their lands. The Cherokees signed treaties ceding portions of their land to the United States
(Bjornlund 8). From the year of 1780 to the year of 1820 the Cherokee people signed treaties in an
attempt to protect their homelands from new settlers moving onto Cherokee land. Native American
leaders believed that signing a treaty even if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The government had made multiple attempts to enforce treaties, but the white settlers would not abide
by the treaties. Due to the inability to make the settlers and the Indians coexist, the government set
aside land in the western region. It was only made worse when, In 1829 gold was found on Cherokee
land in the northwestern part of Georgia, near what is today Dahlonega. Rumors of gold spread
quickly, and white settlers rushed into Cherokee lands to make their claims (Bjornlund 38). It had
been strongly encouraged for the Cherokees to move to the west since 1810, but with the spur of the
gold rush in 1829, the Indian Removal Act was passed in 1830. Georgia was the main state for gold,
and they were also one of the most aggressive in removing the Indians from their state (Bjornlund 38).
In 1828 the government took away all of the rights for the Cherokee people, because they had no
rights they could not keep their lands because they could not testify in court to defend themselves or
their claims. Recognizing that they would get no help from the states, John Ross and a group of
Cherokee representatives traveled to Washington D.C., to ask for help from Congress (Bjornlund 39).
The Cherokees were requested that the United States Government honor the past treaties to enforce
Cherokee land boundaries. Members of Congress such as Daniel Webster, Henry Clay, and Davey
Crockett defended the Cherokees (Bjornlund 39). Sadly, with Andrew Jackson as the President of the
United States, the Indian Removal Act was passed, causing all Indians to leave their

1888 Blizzard
In 1888 on a Thursday afternoon 235 people were killed by a blizzard on their way home from school.
Taking place in the Northwest Plains region of the United States the blizzard came without a warning
temperature went down 100 degrees in a 24 hour. On a Thursday afternoon, a day before the storm it
was unusually warm from Montana east to the Dakotas and south to Texas. Then suddenly within a
couple hours the Arctic air that came from Canada went South. In North Dakota temperatures went
forty degrees below zero. High winds and heavy snow came with the storm which caused terrible
conditions. In rural areas adults working on farms and children coming home from school were the
ones who were mostly affected by the blizzard. A schoolteacher in Pawnee ... Show more content on

We had not gone a rod when we found ourselves in a heap, in a heavy drift of snow. We took hold of
each others hands, pulled ourselves out, got into the road, and the cold north wind blew us down the
road a half mile south, where the Strelow boys and John Conrad had to go west a mile or more. When
they reached a bridge in a ravine, the little fellows sheltered a while under the bridge, a wooden
culvert, but Robert, the oldest, insisted that they push on thru the blinding storm for their homes. In
the darkness they stumbled in, and by degrees their parents thawed them out, bathed their frozen
hands, noses, ears and cheeks, while the boys cried in pain. My brothers and I could not walk thru the
deep snow in the road, so we took down the rows of corn stalks to keep from losing ourselves till we
reached our pasture fence. Walter was too short to wade the deep snow in the field, so Henry and I
dragged him over the top. For nearly a mile we followed the fence till we reached the corral and pens.
In the howling storm, we could hear the pigs squeal as they were freezing in the mud and snow. Sister
Ida had opened the gate and let the cows in from the field to the sheds, just as the cold wind struck and
froze her skirts stiff around her like hoops. The barn and stables were drifted over when we reached
there. The roaring wind and stifling snow blinded us so that we had to feel thru the yard to the door of
our house. The lamp was lighted. Mother was walking the floor, wringing her hands and calling for
her boys. Pa was shaking the ice and snow from his coat and boots. He had gone out to meet us but
was forced back by the storm. We stayed in the house all that night. It was so cold that many people
froze. Although most of the information that was collected or the stories that were told were in South

Becoming A Licensed Driver
Getting my Ls
Becoming a licensed driver is one major goal for almost every teenager. It s starts the mark of maturity
and the feeling of being an adult. You don t get this feeling instantly, instead there is a process that
every driver moist go through. Patiently waiting those 9 months can drive you crazy. It s seems so
long but actually goes past pretty fast, especially if you are already breaking the law by driving on a
permit like you have your license. This is what I did; simultaneously broke the law while having my
permit. The state law is that one must hold a permit for 9 months before they become a licensed driver.
During this time, there are restrictions that the driver must follow.

I pull off and finish following her instructions hoping that I did the parking correctly. We go a couple
blocks away, a couple mainstreets and then proceeded back to the DMV. Pulling up to the DMV I m a

The Effects Of Hellish Interpersonal Characters In No Exit...
Hellish Interpersonal Situations by Peng Su
Situations of unpleasant interactions between people are common even in our societies. At least each
person has at one time has experienced a terrible or unpleasant interaction with another person. In the
play No Exit by Sartre and the poems The Waste Land by Eliot, there are similar unpleasant
interactions depicted. No Exit is a play consisting of three characters Inez, Garcin, and Estelle who are
in hell damned in one room. The characters had thought hell was a place for punishment but rather
found themselves in a room well furnished. However, all the characters refuse to admit to their
damnation reasons. The Waste Land on the other hand is a collection of poems that delve in war,
disillusionment, death, and trauma themes to show the effects of World War I. Therefore, the focus of
this essay is to discuss unpleasant interpersonal situations depicted in the two texts and that are
similar.
In both texts, the characters were frightened by the interactions with the other people. In The Waste
Land in The Burial of the Dead , Marie was frightened when her cousin insisted on taking her on a
sled out in the snow and sliding down the hills (Elliot 5). In No Exit Garcin who was the first person
to be brought in the room by the Valet and was frightened when the Valet left and came with Inez.
Garcin was frightened by the presence of Inez in the room as she thought he

Genetic Testing Book Review
Genetic Testing Book Review The kindle edition of The Social Life of DNA: Race, Reparations, and
Reconciliation, written by Alondra Nelson, is an engaging book that takes us through the timeline of
genetic testing, and how it is being used and applied in society. Nelson rights about the importance of
DNA and how genetic testing has helped us understand the simple social and political conflicts that
can affect the future. The book depicts DNA as a powerful tool and I think The information it the book
is crucial to understanding the different aspects of genetic testing. Although Nelson s view on genetic
testing is not the science behind the topic, it is a fascinating angle on it through a world view. My
intrigue for the book begins with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The book talks about the will in genetic testing, to find your ancestry. It is important for people of
different races to understand where they come from. I believe this could lead to pove of equality for
all people and stop political upreits. Nelson introduced this ide when she described this, Genetic
genealogy testing with enduring human desire: the search roots and identity . Everybody wants to
know where they came from, and genetic testing helps with that. Once a person finds out their true
origin, the truth comes out. It amazes me that genetic testing can change a whole community and their
values. The book also enforced this fact because Our DNA hopes are more boundless than we often
fully apprehend or dare to admit , it s not just about how it affects mankind, it is also about how far we
go to find out things we may not want to. Nelson made me realize that my view on genetics was not
reaching it s full capacity. As I read on it talked about the advances in politics and the discrimination
for race and how genetics is working to improve it, the book pointed out that the sociopolitical
backdrop against which the decoding of the human genome unfolded also played a role in the use of
genetics in reparations in politics . Nelson goes on to talk about how all of human kinds DNA is
extremely similar. If this is the case why is there discrimination. Its genetic testing that gives evidence
to the things that are proven

Research Paper On Ratatouille
Cooking food is not a matter of joke, especially if we do not have a guiding cook acting upon us like a
guiding angel; well that is probably what the movie Ratatouille taught us. A small mouse named
Remy, under the direct guidance of late Chef Auguste Gusteau, practically becomes a chef and the
topic of discussion by cooking Ratatouille. That s a heart touching story isn t it? Well, we can directly
relate this story to the present scenario where different people from all around the world are cooking
food which is not their own. Remy being a mouse began cooking ratatouille under the supervision of
Chef Auguste Gusteau and Chefs of Wellington began cooking Japanese cuisine under the guidance of

The Gaze
Today s audience is one of laziness. The majority of content consumers are not programed to digest
what they watch with a critical eye. While there is no real harm in this, there is room for change and
experimental media has been trying to provoke that change for decades. Bertolt Brecht s theory and
practice of alienation, or v effect, has been pulling audiences out of their comfort zone for a long time
through many different types of art and entertainment. Another topic of discussion is The Gaze ;
usually seen through the male s eye. Again, it is not harmful, but that is because it has been engrained
in the modern audience s brain that it is okay to view woman the way entertainment says is okay.
While they are two very different themes, alienation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mainstream cinema (and culture) reinforces how we are to look at women (as objects, as passive, as
without agency, unworthy of our existential attention) (Week 8 Slides). While there is nothing wrong
with admiring the female form, it does raise some questions about how easily susceptible audiences
are to media. When the audience has ...come to accept the sexist tropes and codes of mainstream
Hollywood cinema as natural, inevitable and beyond reproach... (Week 8 Slides), there is a problem.
The Gaze started early on in cinema and has continued to be practiced in films even to today, if not
more so today. One film in particular that sparked controversy was Michael Powell s 1960 film
Peeping Tom . The film is about a serial killer who films his victims as they are murdered. This film
ended up being banned in many places around the world and was seen as one of the worst films. A few
years later, Martin Scorsese brought the movie back into the light and is now seen as one of the
greatest cult films ever made. The reason behind why it shifted from being appaling to being amazing,
relies on the audience. Nothing about the film has changed over the years, but the opinion of it has.
How can this be? It has to do with the audience s reaction and perception of the content. In 1960,
audiences brains weren t trained to fetishize woman like they are in today s modern films. The
voyeuristic nature of the film

Bog bodies have kept their skin and internal organs due to the specific conditions of the surrounding

The Maltese Falcon has significant physical altercations and plenty of shouting. There is one instance
of man vs. self conflict in that Sam loves Brigid, a femme fatale, but that her various lies, and her
selfish nature works against the possibility of a relationship. At the end of the movie, Brigid begs Sam
not to turn her into the police but he outlines in detail why their relationship would not work: she is his
partner s murderer (1:29:20). This shocking revelation cannot be overlooked because Sam states he
cannot trust her. His knowledge of the crime makes him vulnerable to being shot in the back by her if
they were to be married. He does not want to play the sap for her. He resolves this conflict by
choosing logic over emotion, and turning in Brigid to the police for the murder of his partner, Miles
Archer. The female portrayal in the film was a femme fatale named Brigid O Shaughnessy who first
appears in the beginning of the movie (03:51) claiming to be searching for her sister. She appears to fit
the damsel in distress archetype because of her convincing performance in the loss of her sister.
However, her lies begin to unravel and it is ultimately revealed she killed Sam s partner. Brigid is
interesting in that the true extent of her malice (murder) is not revealed until the end of the movie. The
audience can see she is selfish, but not evil until Sam deduces her crimes. Gender was not an issue in

Analysis Of The Garden Of Earthly Delights
Art is all around us and whether we notice it or not we are always evaluating, deconstructing, and
deciding on if we like it or not. The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch is a triptych
done in the Renaissance period. A triptych is a painting or relief carving that has three different panels
and are hinged together side by side. I first came across this painting in my art history class in high
school and from then on I loved it due to all the imagery, colors, and the overall meaning that it had.
Ever since then this artwork has left a big imprint and got me to think about art as much more than a
picture, but to look at it as a whole and analyze it. This painting always seemed interesting and
intriguing for a couple of reasons. There are many themes going on, the colors are very monochrome
but yet look vivid and life like, and it has a very deep meaning with the themes of mortality, sin, and
shows the end results for evil doings. The triptych has three different panels and all three have their
own story to tell. When the triptych is closed and both left and right sections are shut you see the
world in tones of gray or neutral colors. At the uppermost left corner of the closed sections you can
see a depiction of God looking down at the world with an open book in his hands. The first one on the
left tells the story of how God introduced Adam to Eve. They are shown to be in a beautiful and
surreal looking location which is thought to be paradise. Adam, Eve, and God

Traffickers also solved issues of rape and thefts, usually by capital punishment. Arias described myth
of personal security in the favelas, as traffickers were assisting only people in their network. An

those who were related to traffickers . Drug traffickers then involved in politics in order to secure their
position. When asked about the interference of traffickers in politics, or with the Residents
Association, interviewees said they did not know or if they agreed to talk about it, said that it
happened in many favelas, but not in Babilônia. Carlos Antônio, former president of the Residents
Association of Babilônia, explained that during political campaigns, traffickers stayed at the entrance
of the favelas and charged politicians that wanted to get it. If they did not accept the deal, they had to
abandon the idea of campaigning in this favela . According to a report released by the Brazilian
Newspaper O Globo, traffickers charged up to R$100,000 (25 000 USD) to let politicians enter non

During that period he carved several prophets for the Florentine Campanile, including the Zuccone
(Baldhead), a vibrant characterization. In 1430 32, he went to Rome with Brunelleschi and became
one of the first Renaissance artists interested in ancient monuments. Reflections of classical putti
(male infants) can be found in his rendering of the lively cherubs in the Singing Gallery (1433 38,
cathedral mus.) and in the pulpit at Prato. Classical influence is also evident in his bronze David
(c.1432, Bargello), one of the earliest freestanding nude figures of the Renaissance. In demand
throughout Italy, Donatello was invited to Padua in 1443, where he stayed for 10 years as the head of
an enormous workshop. He designed the equestrian statue of Gattamelata (1447 53) and the high altar
for Sant Antonio (1446 50). Upon his return to Florence, he carved the acutely expressive Magdalen

the pulpits of San Lorenzo, creating a magnificent series of reliefs. He was one of the most influential
painters and sculptors of his time. Most of his works have remained in Florence, but a good

NASCAR has came a long way in safety since the death of Dale Earnhardt. Earnhardt s death was a

The Pros And Cons Of Freedom In America
America has been shaped in many different ways and continues be shaped daily. America is constantly
changing and facing new challenges. However, authors of By the People have four ideas liberty, self
rule, limited government, and equality that they believe are the leading factors in how America is
shaped. These ideas help elaborate on what makes America a strong and withstanding country. These
ideas are the base of America s politics and what makes us a unique country. These four ideas are
constantly being debated between politicians on what the different meanings are. Firstly, liberty can be
defined as the equal freedom from oppression and restriction in a society. Freedom is what the United
States was designed to give most people however it is still being worked on in present day. Freedom is
wanted for all American and is the essential focus in this country. There are two different types of
liberty negative and positive liberty. Both negative and positive liberties can be debated on what is
best for American society. According to Morone and Kersh, negative liberty can be defined as the
freedom from the absence of restraint, (12). Negative liberty position is for the freedom from
restriction of government on what the individual can or should do in society. The only restriction to a
person should be if a person wants to harm another individual. Conservatives and libertarians are
usually in favor of negative liberty. Positive liberty belief is that there should be freedom

The Importance Of Natural Resources In Egypt
Natural Resources
The only reason that Egypt has survived over their long history has been because of the Nile River.
The Nile has provided a long strip of fertile land throughout Egypt moving nearly 88 billion cubic
Meters of water each year. As 90% of water used in the country comes from the Nile its clear to say no
country relies so heavily on a single river. There is a huge flaw there though; they share the river with
another country called Ethiopia. Ethiopia fills a reservoir that can hold 74 Billion cubic Meters of
water. You do the math that leaves only 14 billion cubic meters of water flow for Egypt who is already
on the edge of dehydration. The amount of water left for each citizen without the reservoir is 660
cubic meters per year. If Ethiopia were to take this water from Egypt the country would go into a
phases where they are all without water. While everyone is worried about having a cold drink of water
they will forget to share with their crops and the crops will dry out. Being that 30% of Egyptians are
farmers their crop yield will drop immensely. From there all of the Livestock will die from starvation
because of the lack of food and Egypt will be considered a third world Country. Besides the water
issues Egypt is thriving in other natural resources their gas is exports is honestly the only thing
keeping them afloat. Natural Gasses are their main export and since their country is only farmable
around the Nile there isn t much else the country has to offer.

You need to make it clear that you genuinely enjoy the role of assisting, Think of specific examples in
your employment history that illustrate that you are attentive and that patient comfort and satisfaction
are your priority.
A Dental Assistant s duties can vary from practice to practice but fundamentally you are there to
facilitate the work of the Dentist and ensure that patients are attended to not only professionally by
compassionately. Many people are terrified of visiting their Dentist so think of instances where you
have treated a patient with empathy and helped them feel at ease.
A clear way of offering support to a patient is by showing that you have an excellent character and are
well educated. Patients are best comforted by Dental Assistants who are good hearted and genuinely
caring. Being attentive with patients includes offering them assistance to sit in the chair if necessary
and keeping the patients mouth dry so that the dentist can carry out their work.
Ensuring that you have an in depth knowledge of dental procedures will not only assist the Dentist but
also impress the patient. During your interview you should make it clear that you are willing to learn
new skills which will enhance your ability to perform your duties. Many assistants carry out x rays,
dental impressions and cleaning. Remember that newly acquired skills can be added to your
curriculum and many Dental Assistants acquire valuable knowledge on the job.

Devices Should Be Taught In Schools Essay
Would the teachers of SJNCS rather have their students learn in a creative and fun way or have them
falling asleep in class? The best way and most effective way is having us the students bring our own
devices to school. We can learn and still have fun using our phones, tablets, laptops, and even kindles.
The students of St. John Neumann Catholic School should be able to bring their own devices to
school.
First of all, students can read on their devices. Using ebooks we get so much more options to choose
from ranges of academic and popular books. Having so many options we can read for A.R easily.
Every 4 weeks the students have to get 10 or more points, and sometimes it s hard finding the right
book in the school library. Also most times we can t even go to the library because it s either not open,
we have class, or we have too much to do in study to be able to go. In other words, our devices let us
have more varied book options and an easier access to books. Another way we can use our devices to
read is using our devices to read book assignments that the teachers assign. Recently, we have been
given short stories to read in our textbook, but most times these short stories are actually long. ...

Early Childhood Abuse and the Effects on Emotional...
Early childhood abuse and the effects on emotional development
Abstract
The present research is aimed at providing an account of early childhood abuse and its effects on
further emotional development. A first focus falls on outlining the psychological stages of emotional
development and the notion of emotional response, followed by a thorough analysis of the child abuse
spectrum together with effects, both early and belated, of general and most notably socio emotional
nature.
Firstly, the meaning of emotional regulation and Erik Erikson s theory of eight stages of development
are depicted, with special emphasis on early childhood. This is done for the purpose of underlining the
importance of regular emotional development as opposed to one impaired by abuse.
Secondly, stress falls on describing and classifying child abuse and its prevalence in children under six
years of age. After a brief outline of the areas in which a victim is challenged, focus shifts onward to
specific emotional and social drawbacks that ensue. A more in depth account of this matter follows,
enlisting Alan Schore s right brain correlations, an analysis based on the phenomenon of dissociation,
and other probable prospects for the victim.
The conclusions venture a realistic overview on the aspect of early childhood abuse and its outcomes.
Development of a person throughout his or her whole lifetime can be seen either as a continuous
process or as a final status to be attained. Psychologists agree

Imperialism In Frantz Fanon s The Wretched Of The Earth
In his book Culture and Imperialism, Edward Said articulates on the hybrid nature of postcolonial
identities:
No one today is purely one thing. Labels like Indian, or woman, or Muslim, or American are not more
than starting points, which if followed into actual experience for only a moment are quickly left

and most paradoxical gift was to allow people to believe that they were only, mainly, exclusively,

ABSTRACT
Wireless communications is, by any measure, the fastest growing segment of the communications
industry. It has captured the attention of the media and the imagination of the public. However, the
fundamental phenomenon which makes transmission unreliable is time varying fading. The
phenomenon is described as the constructive/destructive interference between signals arriving at the
same antenna via different paths, and hence with different delays and phases, resulting in random
fluctuations of the signal level at the receiver. This paper investigates Rake receiver method of
combating fading.
The rake receiver uses a combination of correlators to separately detect M strongest multipath
components, code generators, and delays, or fingers , to spread out the individual echo signals of the
multipath. Each signal is then delayed according to peaks found in the received signal. The rake
receiver uses several sub receivers each delayed slightly in order to tune in to the individual multipath
components. Each component is decoded independently, but at a later stage combined using delay
compensate combiner and MRC dispreading in order to make the most use of the different
transmission characteristics of each

Detention Argumentative Essay
Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Teach that man to fish and he will never go hungry. The
same can be said for behavior correction in our youth. Give the child detention, and he will not be
disruptive for a day. Teach that child how to better control their feeling and behavior, and he will make
clear minded and thoughtful choices for a lifetime. Detention is a disciplinary action that tells the
student they made a bad choice with their behavior. However, it does not teach the student how to
make better behavior choices. Detention has been around for many years as the solution for disruptive
and ill behaved children, however; the rise in diagnosed anxiety disorders among teenagers is 25%.

Comparing Beowulf And The Fellowship Of The Ring
The Fellowship of the Ring is a story written by author J. R. R. Tolkien. His story loosely based
around Anglo Saxon mythology much like the epic of Beowulf. Beowulf is a much older story than
The Fellowship of the Ring, but they share some key details. Furthermore, one could easily compare
the two stories for their epic like elements. Both stories contain epic elements, but how does The
Fellowship of the ring fit the definition of an epic? Where does it lack? If you watch the film, the first
example of an epic element is presented when Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf the the Grey are in Bilbo s
home (Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring). The element is presented after Gandalf finds out that
Bilbo s been harboring the ring for a long time (Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring). When this is
revealed, Bilbo gives a long speech about the ring s powers and how it has been affecting him in a
great way. Notably, the ring brings many good things to Bilbo, like youth and health. In fact,
outwardly he hasn t aged for sixty years, but he humbly recognizes there s an underlying darkness to
the ring that brings great temptation to the bearer (Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring). ... Show

Fellowship of the Ring). Gandalf tells Frodo to leave with the ring immediately and it ends up being a
very long journey. Frodo has no idea that this journey will result in him crossing multiple nations,

police officers work assiduously in order to bring justice to victims of a crime. In the episode Her

As discussed in class, many people never come into contact with a police officer or have experience
with the criminal justice system. Therefore, the public might be subjected to create a perception of the
criminal justice system constructed off of the media they are exposed to. This television show relies
on the dogma that in order to achieve justice, a wrongful act must be penalized though incarceration,
which serves as a way of remediation. In this episode, we are presented with a violent act of crime that
most people agree is a morally and ethically a wrongful act. In order to correct this wrongful act, the
show offers the ideology that the police must prosecute the criminal in order to achieve justice for the
victim. However, as discussed in class, many of the crimes people are incarcerated for are non violent
offenses. A majority of these crimes are drug possession that does not include a victim. Furthermore,
this show also suggests that every offender has the opportunity to go to trial. As illustrated in the
episode, the defendant had an opportunity to go to court within a couple of days of the committed act.
Yet, as we learned in class, most defendants end up negotiating a plea bargain and never have the
chance to encounter a grand jury. Therefore this show misconstrues the reality of our criminal justice

The Basic Political Writings Written By Jean Jacques Rousseau
In the book The Basic Political Writings written by Jean Jacques Rousseau, Rousseau in the beginning
of the book states a very important question that he hopes to answer in parts throughout the book, the
question being: What is the origin of inequality among men, and is it authorized by the natural law?
Rousseau takes a different approach than all the other philosophers on trying to figure out the origin of
man and their so called inequality. Rousseau s point of view on the state of nature differs from other
philosophers such as Locke and Hobbes. How do you find the origin of man? Where can the origin of
civil society be traced back too? How are men perceived in the state of nature? Does inequality exist
in the state of nature? In what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Man being in the state of nature causes tyranny and in the end does cause some inequality among men,
whether or not it changes the moral code of society is the bigger question. Although Rousseau does
not believe that inequality exists in the state of nature he wrote a whole essay answering the question
of where does man originate from and is he equal in the state of nature? Rousseau sees the first step of
exiting the state of nature and getting closer to origin of tyranny is when man decides to leave the
lifestyle of being alone and always wandering to settling down and making a house and trying to
provide for his basic needs and the ones that are not as necessary as: nourishment, rest, shelter and self
preservation. This is the stage where you see the element playing a part in man s life and in the way
civil society came to be. Man is no longer just worried about himself he has to provide not only for
himself but for his entire family which he is searching for. Natural man or savage man lives within
himself whereas Rousseau argues that civil man lives in the judgement of others. This is one of the big
reasons has to how inequality fomed. All the inequalities Rousseau does take about or basically
economic things that happen in nature. This type of economic ineuality is among the many other
inequalities but is one of many that inequality originated from. If man had stayed restricted to working
by themselves they would have remained free, healthy, good and happy as

writers such as Bram Stoker created graphic novels that would grab the audience s attention for years
to come. But the horror movie, The House Of The Devil (1896), was noted as being the first ever

they were ritually killing children. Gothic Horror has to be one of the best forms of art. Which is
probably why film markers continue to go back to it. It played on both the thrill and the fear of

Re: 2015 2016 Law Student Tax Challenge Problem
Mr. Paul,
Thank you for contacting our firm again this year to assist you in determining the tax consequences of
your business and investment activities. We have completely analyzed all of your investments and will
summarize the tax results for your review below. Your stock compensation package sounds great, but
since you are receiving this as compensation for services, you must report this as income to the IRS.
Unless you can show an inability to freely transfer the stock to someone other than your employer, or
that the stock is subject to an obligation of providing future services or ... Show more content on

The remaining two thirds of stock will not vest in 2015, because you can still forfeit the right to
receive them. These shares will only be included in your future tax returns if you continue your
employment with the company.
Congratulations on your new investment in the lemonade truck, though I m sorry it s not going as well
as you would have liked. Lucky for you the IRS permits deductions for the expenses of starting a new
business. There are two requirements for a deduction on account of start up costs.
First, the payment must be paid in connection with creating a business. Within the past year you have
incurred several expenses in connection with starting the business: (1) $1,000 of your own money as a
down payment on the truck; (2) a $49,000 loan for the truck; (3) $750 for the lemonade maker; and (4)
$1,500 on lemons, sugar, and boba tea.
Second, the expenses must be one that is allowed as a deduction. To be deducted the expense must be
ordinary, necessary, and incurred during the taxable year in order to carry on the business. In
determining whether expenses are necessary, we look to the purpose in making the payments and
whether they have a connection to the business. In your case this would be to have a place to run your
business, and to have the equipment and inventory needed to make your product. A necessary expense
is one that is appropriate and helpful for the business. It is both appropriate and extremely helpful to
have a place

Response To Forewarnings
Study Two While forced to live in an unpredictable world, a little heads up may be greatly appreciated
when facing daily trials and tribulations. Being warned about upcoming traffic or the difficulty of a
final exam can make life a little easier and brace us for an upcoming challenge. People s actions are
based on what they perceive to be the extent of a challenge. If a challenge is said to be easy,
depending on the person, they may be more inclined to relax and stress less when compared to being
told that the challenge is difficult. Forewarnings help bring a person s attention to the event being
addressed in the warning, while the person s personal attributes effects the way they react in response
to the forewarning. When forewarned about an event it is normal for a person to plan out their action
in response to that event. For example, before a person crosses the street they are greeted by a brightly
lit orange hand used to warn the person about the upcoming traffic that is approaching. This warning
helps the person decide whether it is a good idea to cross the street or remain on the side walk. ...

In 1989, a study was conducted that involved some of its participants to be forewarned about a scary
film that all participants had to watch (Sparks, 1989). There were two types of people information
seekers and information avoiders. It was discovered in the experiment that information seekers
preferred to be given as much information as possible to cope better with the potential stress of the
scary film, while information avoiders preferred to be given a low amount of forewarning, since heavy
forewarning made it difficult for them to distract themselves from the movie. Forewarning drew all
participants attention to the negative stimuli (scary movie), but their coping style ultimately effected
the way they handled and used the information to form their own reactions (Sparks,

  • 2. Research Methods Of Health And Social Care Research Methods in Health and Social Care Throughout research in Health and social care settings, there are many implications with the research, which takes place. Many research methods include ethical issues which have to be considered when conducting research. Ethical issues need to be considered when research is being conducted, in all methods of conducting the research information. One method of research is using interviews. For example, when using interviews in a care home, when conducting research, many ethical issues can be raised. Interviews not only take place face to face, but also can happen on the phone, online, through text messaging, using a video messenger and though social media. Interviews are a very useful way of collecting information because a wide range of detailed information can be collected at a large quantity. There are two types of interviews: structured or unstructured. Structured interviews are where the interviewer has already pre planned the questions that they will use in the interview. This is useful because the interview can be repeated, as the questions are standardised. Unstructured interviews are not made up of prepared questions. The interviewer will ask more open questions about board topics and then use follow up questions to gain more answers in further detail. This method of interview is time consuming however it enables the interviewee to answer questions in more detail and depth. It is possible that audio recordings can be ... • 3. Cherokee Indian History Research Paper In the year of 1827 the Cherokee Indians declared themselves a nation by drafting a constitution. The discovery of gold was made just after the creation and passage of the original Cherokee Constitution ( A Brief History of the Trail of Tears 1 ). Aware that the native Indian land was in danger of being encroached upon by new settlers, the Indians went to the government to create an arrangement to protect their lands. The Cherokees signed treaties ceding portions of their land to the United States (Bjornlund 8). From the year of 1780 to the year of 1820 the Cherokee people signed treaties in an attempt to protect their homelands from new settlers moving onto Cherokee land. The government had made multiple attempts to enforce treaties, but the white settlers would not abide by the treaties. Due to the inability to make the settlers and the Indians coexist, the government set aside land in the western region. It was only made worse when, In 1829 gold was found on Cherokee land in the northwestern part of Georgia, near what is today Dahlonega. Rumors of gold spread quickly, and white settlers rushed into Cherokee lands to make their claims (Bjornlund 38). It had been strongly encouraged for the Cherokees to move to the west since 1810, but with the spur of the gold rush in 1829, the Indian Removal Act was passed in 1830. Georgia was the main state for gold, and they were also one of the most aggressive in removing the Indians from their state (Bjornlund 38). In 1828 the government took away all of the rights for the Cherokee people, because they had no rights they could not keep their lands because they could not testify in court to defend themselves or their claims. Recognizing that they would get no help from the states, John Ross and a group of Cherokee representatives traveled to Washington D.C., to ask for help from Congress (Bjornlund 39). The Cherokees were requested that the United States Government honor the past treaties to enforce Cherokee land boundaries. Members of Congress such as Daniel Webster, Henry Clay, and Davey Crockett defended the Cherokees (Bjornlund 39). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We had not gone a rod when we found ourselves in a heap, in a heavy drift of snow. We took hold of each others hands, pulled ourselves out, got into the road, and the cold north wind blew us down the road a half mile south, where the Strelow boys and John Conrad had to go west a mile or more. When they reached a bridge in a ravine, the little fellows sheltered a while under the bridge, a wooden culvert, but Robert, the oldest, insisted that they push on thru the blinding storm for their homes. In the darkness they stumbled in, and by degrees their parents thawed them out, bathed their frozen hands, noses, ears and cheeks, while the boys cried in pain. My brothers and I could not walk thru the deep snow in the road, so we took down the rows of corn stalks to keep from losing ourselves till we reached our pasture fence. Walter was too short to wade the deep snow in the field, so Henry and I dragged him over the top. For nearly a mile we followed the fence till we reached the corral and pens. In the howling storm, we could hear the pigs squeal as they were freezing in the mud and snow. Sister Ida had opened the gate and let the cows in from the field to the sheds, just as the cold wind struck and froze her skirts stiff around her like hoops. The barn and stables were drifted over when we reached there. The roaring wind and stifling snow blinded us so that we had to feel thru the yard to the door of our house. The lamp was lighted. Mother was walking the floor, wringing her hands and calling for her boys. Pa was shaking the ice and snow from his coat and boots. He had gone out to meet us but was forced back by the storm. We stayed in the house all that night. It was so cold that many people froze. At least each person has at one time has experienced a terrible or unpleasant interaction with another person. In the play No Exit by Sartre and the poems The Waste Land by Eliot, there are similar unpleasant interactions depicted. No Exit is a play consisting of three characters Inez, Garcin, and Estelle who are in hell damned in one room. Therefore, the focus of this essay is to discuss unpleasant interpersonal situations depicted in the two texts and that are similar. In both texts, the characters were frightened by the interactions with the other people. In The Waste Land in The Burial of the Dead , Marie was frightened when her cousin insisted on taking her on a sled out in the snow and sliding down the hills (Elliot 5). Everybody wants to know where they came from, and genetic testing helps with that. Once a person finds out their true origin, the truth comes out. It amazes me that genetic testing can change a whole community and their values. The book also enforced this fact because Our DNA hopes are more boundless than we often fully apprehend or dare to admit , it s not just about how it affects mankind, it is also about how far we go to find out things we may not want to. Nelson made me realize that my view on genetics was not reaching it s full capacity. As I read on it talked about the advances in politics and the discrimination for race and how genetics is working to improve it, the book pointed out that the sociopolitical backdrop against which the decoding of the human genome unfolded also played a role in the use of genetics in reparations in politics . At the end of the movie, Brigid begs Sam not to turn her into the police but he outlines in detail why their relationship would not work: she is his partner s murderer (1:29:20). The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch is a triptych done in the Renaissance period. A triptych is a painting or relief carving that has three different panels and are hinged together side by side. I first came across this painting in my art history class in high school and from then on I loved it due to all the imagery, colors, and the overall meaning that it had. Ever since then this artwork has left a big imprint and got me to think about art as much more than a picture, but to look at it as a whole and analyze it. This painting always seemed interesting and intriguing for a couple of reasons. There are many themes going on, the colors are very monochrome but yet look vivid and life like, and it has a very deep meaning with the themes of mortality, sin, and shows the end results for evil doings. The triptych has three different panels and all three have their own story to tell. When the triptych is closed and both left and right sections are shut you see the world in tones of gray or neutral colors. At the uppermost left corner of the closed sections you can see a depiction of God looking down at the world with an open book in his hands. The first one on the left tells the story of how God introduced Adam to Eve. They are shown to be in a beautiful and surreal looking location which is thought to be paradise. Adam, Eve, and God ... As 90% of water used in the country comes from the Nile its clear to say no country relies so heavily on a single river. There is a huge flaw there though; they share the river with another country called Ethiopia. Ethiopia fills a reservoir that can hold 74 Billion cubic Meters of water. You do the math that leaves only 14 billion cubic meters of water flow for Egypt who is already on the edge of dehydration. The amount of water left for each citizen without the reservoir is 660 cubic meters per year. • 27. Devices Should Be Taught In Schools Essay Would the teachers of SJNCS rather have their students learn in a creative and fun way or have them falling asleep in class? The best way and most effective way is having us the students bring our own devices to school. We can learn and still have fun using our phones, tablets, laptops, and even kindles. The students of St. John Neumann Catholic School should be able to bring their own devices to school. First of all, students can read on their devices. Using ebooks we get so much more options to choose from ranges of academic and popular books. Having so many options we can read for A.R easily. Every 4 weeks the students have to get 10 or more points, and sometimes it s hard finding the right book in the school library. Also most times we can t even go to the library because it s either not open, we have class, or we have too much to do in study to be able to go. In other words, our devices let us have more varied book options and an easier access to books. Another way we can use our devices to read is using our devices to read book assignments that the teachers assign. Recently, we have been given short stories to read in our textbook, but most times these short stories are actually long. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 28. Early Childhood Abuse and the Effects on Emotional... Early childhood abuse and the effects on emotional development Abstract The present research is aimed at providing an account of early childhood abuse and its effects on further emotional development. A first focus falls on outlining the psychological stages of emotional development and the notion of emotional response, followed by a thorough analysis of the child abuse spectrum together with effects, both early and belated, of general and most notably socio emotional nature. Firstly, the meaning of emotional regulation and Erik Erikson s theory of eight stages of development are depicted, with special emphasis on early childhood. This is done for the purpose of underlining the importance of regular emotional development as opposed to one impaired by abuse. Secondly, stress falls on describing and classifying child abuse and its prevalence in children under six years of age. After a brief outline of the areas in which a victim is challenged, focus shifts onward to specific emotional and social drawbacks that ensue. A more in depth account of this matter follows, enlisting Alan Schore s right brain correlations, an analysis based on the phenomenon of dissociation, and other probable prospects for the victim. The conclusions venture a realistic overview on the aspect of early childhood abuse and its outcomes. Development of a person throughout his or her whole lifetime can be seen either as a continuous process or as a final status to be attained. Psychologists agree ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Imperialism In Frantz Fanon s The Wretched Of The Earth In his book Culture and Imperialism, Edward Said articulates on the hybrid nature of postcolonial identities: No one today is purely one thing. Imperialism consolidated the mixture of cultures and identities on a global scale. But its worst and most paradoxical gift was to allow people to believe that they were only, mainly, exclusively, white, or Black, or Western, or Oriental (Said 336). It has captured the attention of the media and the imagination of the public. However, the fundamental phenomenon which makes transmission unreliable is time varying fading. The phenomenon is described as the constructive/destructive interference between signals arriving at the same antenna via different paths, and hence with different delays and phases, resulting in random fluctuations of the signal level at the receiver. This paper investigates Rake receiver method of combating fading. The rake receiver uses a combination of correlators to separately detect M strongest multipath components, code generators, and delays, or fingers , to spread out the individual echo signals of the multipath. Each signal is then delayed according to peaks found in the received signal. The rake receiver uses several sub receivers each delayed slightly in order to tune in to the individual multipath components. Each component is decoded independently, but at a later stage combined using delay compensate combiner and MRC dispreading in order to make the most use of the different transmission characteristics of each ... His story loosely based around Anglo Saxon mythology much like the epic of Beowulf. Beowulf is a much older story than The Fellowship of the Ring, but they share some key details. Furthermore, one could easily compare the two stories for their epic like elements. Both stories contain epic elements, but how does The Fellowship of the ring fit the definition of an epic? Where does it lack? If you watch the film, the first example of an epic element is presented when Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf the the Grey are in Bilbo s home (Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring). The element is presented after Gandalf finds out that Bilbo s been harboring the ring for a long time (Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring). When this is revealed, Bilbo gives a long speech about the ring s powers and how it has been affecting him in a great way. Notably, the ring brings many good things to Bilbo, like youth and health. In this episode, we are presented with a violent act of crime that most people agree is a morally and ethically a wrongful act. In order to correct this wrongful act, the show offers the ideology that the police must prosecute the criminal in order to achieve justice for the victim. Although Rousseau does not believe that inequality exists in the state of nature he wrote a whole essay answering the question of where does man originate from and is he equal in the state of nature? Rousseau sees the first step of exiting the state of nature and getting closer to origin of tyranny is when man decides to leave the lifestyle of being alone and always wandering to settling down and making a house and trying to provide for his basic needs and the ones that are not as necessary as: nourishment, rest, shelter and self preservation. People s actions are based on what they perceive to be the extent of a challenge.
