Dr. Reid, is a genius, and his mother has schizophrenia. As a title character, schizophrenia is often brought up and showcased as well as Spencer s intelligence. His knowledge is not abused or judged, but appreciated. In Glee, two characters have mental disabilities, Emma Pilsburry, a guidance counselor who suffers from OCD, and Becky Jackson, a cheerleader with Down Syndrome.
