Vietnam Political Changes
Vietnam was a long bloody stalemate that lasted from 1955 to 1975. In 1954 Vietnamese Nationalist
gained independence from French colonial rule. Communist formed in the north while a non
communist regime supported by America started in the south. The Vietcong from the north would
fight the south s regime and U.S soldiers for years. March 8, 1965 is when the first American troops
hit the ground. America got involved because we feared the spread of communism also known as the
domino effect. After spilling a lot of blood President Nixon knew people of America were upset. On
November 3, 1969 he announced that he was going to start bringing soldiers home. Vietnamization
was the name of the plan. In my opinion I think the U.S shouldn t have ... Show more content on

People were all dividing during the time of war. People who supported war were known as hawks and
people who disagreed with war were known as doves. Congress brought forth the some new laws in
War Powers Resolution, 1973. At the beginning of section 3 in War Powers Resolution it is stated The
president in every possible instance shall consult with congress before introducing United States
Armed Forces into hostilities. That basically states the congress makes the decision to go to war.
President Richard Nixon was in office when congress brought this forth. President Johnson announced
he wouldn t run for a second term in his Address to the Nation March 31, 1968. He talked about
partisanship and how the country s become so divided. Lyndon knew that once he got involved with
Vietnam he wouldn t have any time for programs at home that would feed and shelter homeless, better
education, etc. If he didn t get involved he would have people complaining on why he s ignoring the
situation. The Vietnam war affected a lot of people in the world. In my opinion we shouldn t have
fought that war unless we were looking for territory. To this day it s the congress who has the power to
call on war. After we left Vietnam completely the Vietcong ended up taking it over

Examples Of Foreshadowing In The Hitchhiker
The Hitchhiker Most people in the world have had a hard time admitting that someone has died that
they care about. In the world this happens a lot because it is a hard thing to excepted. Lucille Fletcher,
the author of The Hitchhiker shows the fear of death through the eyes of the main character that can
not escape that he is dead. He is being followed by a Hitchhiker that is representing death because the
main character is dead which goes back to not admitting that someone is dead. In the story The
Hitchhiker, Lucille Fletcher uses flashback, foreshadowing, and symbolism to build a mood. In the
story The Hitchhiker, Lucille Fletcher uses flashback to build a mood that is a mood of unknowing .
Six months ago I left Brooklyn to drive to California.... ( Fletcher 2 and 3) Mother I ll be back. I ll
only be on the coast three months . ( Fletcher 2 and 3) This shows that Adams is flashing back to six
days ago when he left Brooklyn. Another example for the story would be I suppose not. What, ah er ah
What about hitchhikers. ( Fletcher 6) This shows that Adams is flashing back to remember that he saw
a hitchhiker and he is asking the man that is working the store if he saw any hitchhiker around lately.
For a follow up it the story it said. After I got the car back on the road again, I felt like a fool. Yet, the
thought of picking him up, of having him sit beside me, was somehow unbearable. At the same time I
felt more than ever unspeakably alone. (Fletcher 8) This also shows that the author Lucille Fletcher
used flashbacks in the story The Hitchhiker. In the story The Hitchhiker, Lucille Fletcher uses
foreshadowing to build a mood. The mood of it would be discovering. In the story the Hitchhiker
Fletcher used foreshadowing to show how Adams felt about the hitchhiker here are some examples. In
the story it said Personally, I ve never met anybody who didn t like a good ghost story. ( Fletcher 1)
This shows that she is foreshadowing that the story is going to be about a ghost. For another example
from the story Oh, it isn t that. It s it s just the trip. Ronald, I wish you weren t driving. ( Fletcher 2)
This shows that something bad is going to happen because his mom does not want him to

Potatoes And Cannibalism
Potatoes around the world are affected by the pressing issue, of gangs of cannibal potatoes. Theses
gangs are making their new recruits eat french fries. These french fries could be there family. These
potatoes are eating their own, and they enjoy it. In New York, there was a potato gang who raided a
McDonalds and stole all the french fries. They were found in a factory, but all the french fries were
gone. These rabid potatoes ate all the french fries. The potatoes were taken into custody, and charged
with cannibalism. One of the potatoes, who would like to remain anonymous, said in there testimony,
¨Until you eat french fries, it seems cruel. But here s the thing, these potatoes are already dead.

The jury wasn t convinced and the potatoes were convicted of cannibalism. That s when Suzy Jones,
one of the potatoes convicted of cannibalism, made a scene. She started screaming at the jury that,
¨there is no reason we should be going to prison. We eat french fries, already dead potatoes. It s not
like we are killing them ourselves. They are already dead, so why punish us for cannibalism. I would
understand if you charged us for breaking and entering, and theft, but for this. It doesn t make sense if
you take your personal beliefs away and look at the bigger picture.¨ The court did not take kindly to
this, neither did the audience. I believe that these rebel potatoes who enjoy eating their own, should be
sentenced for life. They should not be allowed to walk the streets, while they look at all the potatoes
on the street and get hungry. What happens when these potatoes walk down the street and feel a little
grumble in their stomach? Even they claim they have not killed and eaten a potato, who is to say they
will never. It is not safe to have these potatoes walk the street. This is a growing problem in the United
States and around the

The Structural Change Of Silver Nannoparticles
Systematic studies on the structural change of silver nanoparticles, which are easy to change shape
and exhibit excellent localized surface plasmon resonance effect, were carried out and the predicted
shape change was compared to the actual nanoparticles. Herein, key information on the alteration of
silver nanoparticles was determined theoretically by a computational method, discrete dipole
approximation (DDA). The galvanic reaction and sulfidation reaction were suggested to improve the
stability of silver nanoprism (AgNP). In addition, the effect of additionally generated spherical
particles, silver nanosphere (AgNS), on the absorbance was studied. Both AgNP and AgNS formed
hollow nanostructure after the galvanic reaction, and these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The first solution for the scattering and absorption properties of a spherical nanoparticle was provided
by Mie et al. [10,11]. Since the initial development of Mie theory, it is now well known that the strong
optical properties of plasmonic nanoparticles result from an induced coherent oscillation of the free
conduction band electrons within the plasmonic nanoparticle. Thus, in our previous studies [12,13],
bimetallic Au/Ag nanoframes with excellent LSPR feature were prepared via the galvanic replacement
reaction and sulfidation and successfully used as the spectator for Co2+ ion. However, there is no
theoretical interpretation of color changes with structural transformation of Au/Ag nanoframes from
Ag nanoprisms. Therefore, herein, we used a theoretical approach to determine the key information on
the alteration of Ag nanoparticles by using a computational method, discrete dipole approximation
(DDA). It is very adaptive to deal with various particle shapes, not just limited to highly symmetrical
geometries. DDA is used to estimate the optical properties of plasmonic materials responding to
external electrical field through dipole moments of discretized dipoles [14 17]. The absorbance of the
particles was calculated by the Discrete Dipole Scattering (DDSCAT ver. 7.3), which was used to
design highly stable nanoparticles with absorbance in the visible

Business Information Analysis
As technology is continously changing so is the amount of information produced as well. The way
organizations store this information and how its accessible is crucial for the company. Managing such
information can make the difference of the company survival and also to be able to stay abeast in its
market. According to Lohrey, Jackie (2017) Information is a critical business resource and like any
other critical resource must be properly managed. Constantly evolving technology, however, is
changing the way even very small businesses manage vital business information. Organizations have
to become equipped with the essential resources available to increase efficiency and improve

take into consideration and monitor if any external issues arise. With case sensitive information being
accessible all precautions of to be taken and others actions are accountable. Another issue that could
arise for an organization is privacy. As technology evolves companies have access and gain
information on consumers and even employees that a concern of privacy could arise. Information on
consumers is gathered to understand how to market to consumers, and also to build brand awareness.

The Takers And The Leavers By Daniel Quinn
The story begins with Daniel Quinn writing about a day in his life, until he comes upon an absurd
advertisement in the personals section of the newspaper: TEACHER seeks pupil. Must have an earnest
desire to save the world. Apply in person. Suspicious, Quinn investigates this advertisement with
intentions of exposing fraud. Instead, he discovers Ishmael in Room 105 of a undistinguished office
building. Sitting calmly, Ishmael gently nibbled on a slender branch. Appalled, Quinn stumbled
towards the chair. Ishmael and Quinn gazed into each other s eyes, and much to his disgruntlement,
the glowing eyes spoke to him. Nodding his head to the unspoken question, Ishmael quietly said, I am
the teacher. Ishmael explains that Quinn is part of a culture, that results in him being taught certain
stories between the relationships of man, the world, and the Gods. These explanations will be made
clearer to the pupil by being assisted in recognizing why the stories are misleading. Ishmael s goal will
show the narrator that human history comes from two groups, the Takers and the Leavers. These
groups legislate two completely different stories about man, the world, and the Gods. Takers are the
humans who developed agriculture and civilization, who still dominate on Earth today. The Leavers,
in contradiction, are those who don t adopt agricultural practices and disregard the benefits of
civilization.
In lessons, Ishmael asks Quinn to explain other stories that the Takers imagine. The pupil

The City-Soul Dichotomy In Plato s Republic
In the Republic, the city soul analogy serves as the starting point from which Plato builds the dialogue,
and its implications phantasmically loom in the background of the work s political and philosophical
deliberations. At the end of Republic II, Socrates, in an effort to impugn Thrasymachus commendation
of injustice, asserts that a just soul and a just man will live well, and an unjust one badly. (Republic
353e) Socrates therefore believes that the just live better lives than those who are unjust, and to
demonstrate this to his main interlocutors he considers a city in which justice is applied. Socrates
general approach is to draw out the fundamental concept of political justice, and, through the vehicle
of the city soul analogy, relate this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One example of this is found in Republic IV as the soul is proven to be partitioned into three
independent components: reason, spirit, and appetite, all of which have direct counterparts in the class
structure of Socrates city. The analogy s significance is also showcased in Republic VII, as an accurate
depiction of justice s intrinsic value in the individual is derived through the interlocutor s investigation
of the conventions in Socrates city. Justice is ultimately found to possess universal qualities, one of
which includes being a product of the pursuit of the form of the good. Further consistencies between
the city and soul are evinced by Republic VIII and IX where Socrates finds equivalence among the
specific dynamics of various political systems and natural constitutions of the soul. With these
examples in mind, we must turn to the text of the Republic in order to gain a more comprehensive
understanding of the message Socrates was seeking to communicate through his analogy of city and

Frank Mccourt s Angelas Ashes
Frank McCourt s Angela s Ashes is a memoir consisting of various memories and stories from Frank
McCourt s childhood. As a child, Frank was deprived of many opportunities because of his social
class; these limitations are what make Frank so determined to gain people s respect.
The memoir takes place in New York, Frank s birthplace, and Ireland, where Frank spent the majority
of his childhood. Franks childhood takes place in Limerick, Ireland during the times where poverty
and social snobbery were common. Frank was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1930. Frank is the
oldest of all his siblings. Soon after Frank is born his younger brother Malachy Jr. and a year later the
twins Oliver and Eugene are born. With each addition to their family Malachy, Franks father, and
Angela, Franks mother, are struggling to support their growing family. Also with Franks father,

The family is forced to move in with one of Angela s cousins who forces Angela into sexual relations.
Due to her starving children, Angela complies to the relation. By this time Franks dream is to move to
America, his place of birth, and to get a job there to help support his family. Franks first job is a
telegram delivery boy and later he leaves that job to deliver newspaper and magazines for a different
store. Through all his hardships Frank McCourt follows his dream to go to America after raising
enough money to go by working, some stealing and saving. Overall, the memoir was well written and
the reader will be unable to put it down. I would recommend this book to any reader looking to

Levis was one of the leading brands in India, which is known for its denim jeans. Levis was top brand

shows how tired the brand had been. For instance, the advertising done by Levi s for its Silver tab

that it lacked branding . Similarly, the advertisement to promote Levi s low rise jeans which was

This reduction or elimination of expenses associated with travel, lodging, etc., results in a huge

demand for and benefit of virtual teams.
Obstacles
The benefits and lucrative potential of Virtual Project Management are many, but like all good things,
come at a price in the form of new management complications. Fostering open and meaningful
communication, gaining the trust and respect of remote members, and building trust between members
is the greatest challenge to the virtual PM. It is difficult for virtual team members to get to know each
other well; consequently, they tend to communicate poorly because they often are less than
comfortable with each other. [1] Communication is paramount in any project. Dennis S. and Michelle
L. Reina define three types of communication that project managers must address for virtual work to
be possible: contractual, communication, and competence trust. [4]
Contractual trust this is essentially doing what you say you will do. The virtual PM needs to manage
expectations, establish clear boundaries, delegate appropriately, honor agreements, and, above all, be
consistent in their words and actions. This kind of trust is especially frail in today s workplaces
because of the legacy of layoffs, downsizing, and reorganization that reengineering and economic
problems have brought to the modern

There is not one absolute ruler, nor is there not a ruler; the world is controlled by a huge, powerful

of the world s most powerful governments to find the cure for the Flare. The Gladers were also
basically forced into the Trials against their own will, because if they didn t, they would be killed
(Dashner, pg. 61). Because WICKED holds all governmental power, it acts like a totalitarian
government. Compared to The Giver, written by Lowis Lowry, language is controlled and things such
as starvation and misery do not exist in their utopian world. Thomas and his friends all have a strange
slang adapted from the Maze that s used throughout the series. An example is when Thomas best
friend, Minho, is about to go through a portal called the Flat Trans to the Scorch. Minho turned to look

Humanistic Theory On The Jarvis Family
Implementing the Humanistic Theory on the Jarvis Family Introduction Most cases that are being
investigated by social work agencies often include various parts, people and ways in which the client
is helped. The case involving the Jarvis family is a case of reported sexual child abuse. Child Welfare
Services became aware of the abuse when Kay Partridge, school nurse, contacted the agency in fear of
the children s well being. The case came about after Marie and Joanne Jarvis teachers noticed a
change in the girls behaviors and had reported in to the principle who then contacted Ms. Partridge.
Eventually Marie and Joanne had admitted that their father, Kenneth Jarvis, had been sexually abusing
them for years. Also, their mother, Jean Jarvis, had admitted to know about the abuse, but was unsure
of how she could protect both herself and her children from Mr. Jarvis. As a result, the agency is
hoping to work with Mrs. Jarvis and her daughters to help them cope with the effects of the incident
can have on Marie, Joanne, and Mrs. Jarvis. In order to help the family, the social worker would
implement a human behavior therapy as a way for both parties to understand why they, the client, are
behaving in a certain way. It also helps to identify ways that the client can further be helped. The
implementation of the humanistic theory is a useful way to gain a better understanding of the client
and their behavior as whole. Issues Due to the events that had occurred with Kenneth

founder of Detroit, Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac, a name that makes reference to
the little French town of Cadillac situated in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region. Historically
Cadillac is a bastide founded in 1280 by the Edward I, King of England for the defense of Bordeaux.
In 1315 the bastide surrounds itself with a defensive wall form which we still can see 2 gates, 3 towers

War Of The World Movie Vs Book
Comparing Adaptations of Books and Film: The War of the Worlds
Adaptations of books into movies are very common. In comparing the book by H.G. Wells, The War
of the World, written in 1897 and the film with the same title directed by Steven Spielberg released in
2005 there are many similarities and many differences. Based on many of the facts of this story I
believe this to be an intermediate adaptation. An intermediate adaptation is defined as, Some elements
of the story are kept in the film, other elements are dropped, and still more elements are added
(Desmond 44). This essay will look at some of the differences based on the era that the film version
was produced in.
The tone of the movie is different based on the era that the film was produced. During the early 2000
there were issues that were not as prevalent or discussed as in the 1890 s. One of these such topics is
that of divorce and the new blended family. This movie showed a divorced father who was not present
in the lives of his children. The children were dropped off by their mother who had planned a vacation
with her new husband. The father is unprepared for the children s visit and he appears uncomfortable
around his own children. In the book version, there is no mention of any children and the narrator is ...

The Reality Of Evil Within Us

The Reality of Evil Within Us In the novel Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, Marlow, the Lawyer,
the Doctor and the Accountant voyage down to Africa from London to assist the Europeans with their
mission to rule the Natives and discover ivory. This roots one to assume to being in a day dream where
it s amazing as if you were having the time of your life than all of a sudden hell drops and you die
resulting in a constant one s life. The complexity of inadequate regularity results in a fading reality, in
which deaths and complications arise and cause evil to take root within humans. The lack of deviation
in the novel Heart of Darkness results in a reality fading for Marlow. I felt often its mysterious

Marlow is forgetting his old regularity in London because he is being taken over by Africa s constant

attached to the heart of darkness, which can cause a dilemma when he returns to London because it

The Importance Of The Florentine
The Italian language like many of the other languages in the world is derived from Latin. Some other
languages derived from Latin are French, Spanish, Portuguese and Romanian. These 5 languages
along with Italian make up the romance languages. The Italian language is a well known adaptation of
the Latin tongue that was spread all through the empire by conquering Roman armies. The spread of
the romantic languages began in the Italian peninsula and Sicily then spread to France, Spain and
Portugal. Soon after that these romantic languages began spreading to western Germany, southern
Germany, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, Romania. Later on they spread to Morocco, Algeria, and
Tunisia.
The Italian dialect is focused around the vernacular spoken in Tuscany and more acutely Florence.
This authentic improvement can be followed back to the social and political prominence of Florence
and all of Tuscany in the 1300s. Tuscan authors, for example, Dante, Petrarch and Boccaccio have
written some of their most celebrated works in the Tuscan Florentine dialect, giving this specific
tongue notability and importance. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the French territories of Corsica and Savoy as well. Notwithstanding standard Italian, numerous

Ms. Bell Appendicitis Case Study
Case Overview
Ms. Bell is a 28 year old woman with a past medical history significant for atypical squamous cells of
undetermined significance (ASCUS) on Pap smear without follow up with clinical presentation and
chief complaint of abdominal pain for two weeks. According to Ms. Bell the current abdominal
symptoms are in two areas such as non focal across the upper abdomen, and more localized in the
suprapubic and pelvic area. Additional history reveals dyspareunia, past trichomonas vaginalis
infection, and recurrent references to stress aggravating the symptoms. The Patient is accompanied by
her 4year old son Cooper, who is experiencing stomach pain, enuresis, and exceptional clinginess and
has recently been hitting other children at daycare. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The clinical presentation is a severe right lower quadrant pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite,
fever, or constipation. Therefore, during a good physical examination, it is important to rule out by
looking for positive psoas signs and rebound tenderness. Appendicitis is a medical emergency which
requires immediate surgery to remove the appendix before burst, or eventually perforate into the
abdominal cavity that can be fetal if left untreated (Singer, Thode Singer, 2016).
Trauma Patient who is pregnant or may be suspicion of pregnancy has increased risk of being victims
of domestic violence. Therefore, the stress of being victim of domestic violence may cause irregular
menstrual cycle in some women. Consequently, abdominal pain and cramping may come, not only
from the inflicted trauma, but also from somatization of stress. Some clinical presentation includes
bruises of various colors, due to different stages of healing, which can be seen on any part of the body,
but especially on the abdomen and can cause trauma to the fetus, especially because it is less visible to
the public. Therefore, as health care providers, nurse practitioner has a huge role to be careful aware of

William Blake Diction
In The Chimney Sweeper, William Blake uses innocent and accusatory tones to illustrate the truth and
ignorance of the children s role in society. Blake uses simplistic and allusive diction, as well as
concrete imagery to convey the corruption of innocence experienced by both of the speakers in the
poems. The poems reveal the injustice children felt at the hands of society and the children s blissful
innocence under harsh conditions. Blake employs simplistic and allusive diction to portray the
innocent nature of the children. The simplicity of a child s experience is exemplified through Blake s
usage of cry , laughing , and fear which illustrate universal emotions felt by many. In addition, Blake
uses allusive language through examples like Angel , God , and heaven. The reference to the heavens
in the first poem functions to evoke feelings of goodness, which goes along with the dream like
qualities of the poem, aiding in constructing the image of an innocent child. In the second poem,
however, the focus on the oppression and structure connotes the dynamic of the destruction of a child
s innocence. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example in the first poem, the speaker states, soot cannot spoil your white hair and juxtaposes
coffins of black with shine in the sun to display the naïve nature of children despite the evident
corruption occurring in the atmosphere around them. Similarly in the second poem, the speaker

How Can English Be An Official Language
Language is formed through culture, history, and evolves over time in order to be able to communicate
with one another. Differences in languages are based on where people are from, who they may be, and
their own experiences. All languages have unique value, and all display their own ways of seeing the
world. Languages and cultures are constantly changing due to influences we have on one another in
the way we speak and write. Different languages are always mixing through contact on media, like the
internet, which allows opportunities for languages to grow and affect each other in several ways. The
English language formed though history, culture, and experiences that do not apply to all of the
multicultural society of America. Making English the official language strips the diversity of the
individual language and culture of immigrants, and bilinguals, as well as minimize the instinctive
enrichment between cultures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The issue of English being the official language in America has been a debatable topic for some time
now. While English has always been the primary language in the United States, the increased number
of immigrants over the years has made majority of Americans want to make English language official.
While doing this could help with some issues like language barriers, English being the official
language could also bring more issues for immigrants. Unless equal opportunities are provided for non
English speakers and the advantages of English being the official language are greater than
disadvantages, America should not move forward for official

George Bernard Shaw s Pygmalion Critique Values And...
Pygmalion Essay
Essay question: Plays make powerful comments about societal structures. How does Shaw s
Pygmalion critique values and attitudes prevalent in the early 1900 s?
George Bernard Shaw was an Irish immigrant in England, ostracised from society because of his
appearance and heritage rather than from judgement of his person, this kept him apart from most
social classes of the time. This feeling of not fitting in may have inspired Shaw to write the play
Pygmalion which premiered in 1914 to comment on the shallow nature of the people of this era and
satirise the class system. To do this Shaw introduced Eliza Doolittle, a class chameleon, to guide the
audience through the corrupt social hierarchy and give light to those who don t have a real place in the
structure, like himself and Eliza who are judged based on appearance and speech. Shaw confronted his
audience with his satirical reflection of reality; speech defines a persons class instead of what they
have to say and to appear beautiful is more important than to be kind. Emphasising these important
aspects in different ways in various characters gives an interesting view on how this class system
influenced the people in their context. Pygmalion is a both reflection of influence of class and the
values it promotes which Shaw skilfully uses to criticise inequality of all those within it.
Shaw critiques the shallow views of people from the 1900 s by completely disregarding their belief in
the correlation between

Oedipus As A Tragic Hero
Although not all who wander or deviate from the path are lost, some clearly are. When Oedipus, the
eponymous character of Sophocles tragedy Oedipus Rex, first learns that he is destined to kill his
father and marry his mother, he abandons his home intent on never returning in order to avoid meeting
his fate. Unbeknownst to the tragic hero, before the curtain s rise, the prophecy has already been
fulfilled. Consequently, due to the underlying corruption in Thebes, the people are perishing of a
plague that will not cease until the man responsible for the death of the previous Theban King, King
Laius, is identified and brought to justice. This urgency propels Oedipus to discover that his biological
father is not the King of Corinth who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The significance of this theme is conveyed through Sophocles and Shakespeare s usage of dialog,
characterization, and symbolism. To start, Sophocles and Shakespeare utilize dialog to illustrate the
theme of exile within their respective works. Attempting to ease Oedipus s mind by convincing him
that he has nothing to fear in the predictions of the oracles, Jocasta gives the ironic example of the plot
to kill her own infant son to avoid a similar prophecy. Sophocles dialog for Jocasta states, But Laius,/
so the report goes at least, was killed by strangers,/ thieves, at a place where three roads meet ... [M]y
son / he wasn t three days old and the boy s father/ fastened his ankles, had a henchman fling him
away on a barren, trackless mountain./ There, you see? (787 793). Although exile, or at least the threat
of exile, is prevalently addressed within the dialog of both works, Jocasta s rashness to murder her
child is jarring, even more so due to the inappropriately comforting tone with which Jocasta
retrospects on such a sinister deed. Likewise, King Lear responds irrationally when he promptly
arranges a marriage for Cordelia to the King of France after Cordelia admits that she loves her father
only to the extent that it is appropriate for a daughter to love her father. Shakespeare s written dialog
for Lear reads, Let her be thine, for we/ Have no such daughter, nor shall ever see/That face of hers
again (1.4.264 266). Like Jocasta, who indicated by the

Analysis Of The Poem Next To Of Course God America I
Next to of course god America i by Edward Estlin Cummings implies the patriotism of the United
States by a patriot with war supporting attitude. However, with the poem having a patriotic view, it
also has a sarcastic outlook, which is caused by blind patriotism. The blind patriotism is seen
throughout the poem in several lines. In the beginning of the poem, the patriotic narrator talks about
how strongly he feels about America. In first two lines from the poem, next to of course god america i

you that just tuned in, we are here today with Luan, a brilliant undergrad student from Salem State

around the corner, you couldn t have picked a better timing for it.
Luan: Haha I know, right!? It seemed like the perfect timing for it.
Maddy: So tell me about this project of yours; what is it exactly?
Luan: Well one of my courses required students to pick a topic that really interested them to write
about during the semester. It s going to be a pretty long project, so the topic was really important. I
wanted to write and explore about something that was intriguing yet feasible and phobias really hit the
sweet spot. Not to mention that I always have been fascinated by them...
Maddy: Yeah, it really is a great topic. Now I know that people link phobias with fear. Is that really
what a phobia is? Just fear?
Luan: A lot of people think that Maddy. But according to the American Psychology Association, all
phobias are anxiety disorders, lumped in the same class as post traumatic stress disorder and panic
disorder, among others. And anxiety disorders are, fundamentally, based on fear. But this does not
mean that phobias equal fear.

After the Civil War ended, many blacks and whites, especially in the South, continued living as if
nothing had changed with regards to the oppression and poor treatment of African Americans.
Narrator Grant Wiggins, of Ernest J. Gaines A Lesson Before Dying, possesses a similar attitude

databases for the Achievement Gaps of Black and White students in education. This research article
appeared in the results as I quickly looked over titles of interest. I then skimmed through both, the
abstract and the conclusion to make sure it was first a primary research study. After assuring that it
was a research study and not an analysis, I then looked over the format of the study to assess the level

Heinz Doofenshmirtz Essay
Stereotypically, villains are evil, ugly beings that not one character or reader feels compassion for. But
in the art of fiction, villains are so much more than the vile and unlikeable shells that they appear to be
in some of the more bland instances. One such example of a villain that breaks down the ideal of
villainy is Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz of Phineas and Ferb. He, like many villains before him, comes
from a past of disappointment and sorrow, but unlike other villains, he is just as much a good person
as he is a bad one. His individuality and many unique character traits make him an anomalous and

The Passionate Shepherd To His Love And Raleigh Was Right
Throughout the three poems The Passionate Shepherd To His Love, The Nymph s Reply To The
Shepherd, and Raleigh Was Right; By Christopher Marlowe, Sir Walter Raleigh, and William Carlos
Williams. We can see the themes of nature and love addressed in different ways throughout all three
poems. In the first we see nature in a positive, auspicious way, whereas in the subsequent poems we
see nature in a negative, gloomy, violent light. The tertiary poem Raleigh Was Right agrees with and
supports Raleigh s views of nature in a negative light.
In the first poem, The Passionate Shepherd To His Love, we see nature portrayed in a positive,
heartwarming, romantic way. One example of this can be found in the first line of the second stanza,

Examples of this negative outlook can be found within the first line of the second stanza, Time drives

and all pretty things of nature will decay and die as time passes. The evident negative attitude towards
nature can also be found the the third and final poem.
In WIlliams s poem Raleigh was right William seems to agree with Raleigh s negative view of nature.
Evidence of this can be found in the first second line of the first stanza, For the country will bring us
no peace, Williams is saying that the country will not bring any peace of mind. Other evidence of this
negative view of nature can be found in the sixth line of the first stanza, lance shaped leaves. This
shows nature in a hostile light, comparing leaves to lances. All three poems commonly have the ideas
of love and nature, however each one has a unique view of

St Thomas Aquinas Influence On Religion
Have you ever wanted to pray before a test, but didn t know who to pray to? Saint Thomas Aquinas is
the patron saint of students and education. Throughout his life, he taught us various ways on how to
believe in what we believe in. He also taught us to chase our dreams, even when it is not approved by
the people around us. Saints are those who follow Christ and live their lives according to his
teachings. They are known as the standard operating models for human beings. Catholics, however,
also use the term narrowly to refer to special holy men and women who entered Heaven through
extraordinary lives of virtue. Because a saint is holy, they know both the bad news of sin and the good
news of salvation. Catholics honor the saints because they are known as model Christians and
practiced great virtue during their life on Earth. We can honor the saints by imitating their holy lives,
praying to them, and by showing respect for their relics and images. St. Thomas Aquinas was born in

The Negative Effects Of Cigarettes
Cigarettes kill more Americans than suicide, vehicular accidents, alcohol, cocaine, heroin, ADIS, and
homicides combined. Cigarettes do not support or benefit the public in a positive way. Cigarettes are
filled with thousands of chemicals and are highly addictive. Cigarettes have caused numerous mental
and physical problems for smokers and the people who surround them, impacting families,
communities and society. Cigarettes and tobacco should become an illegal drug in North America. The
negative traits of smoking outweigh the positive traits; tobacco should not be accessible to the public.
Smoking kills these two words should be very familiar. The effects of first hand smoke from cigarettes
are pathetically publicize, barley educating the public about the dangers and life threatening problems
and illness associated with smoking. Although the understanding that smoking cigarettes can kill you
has been established in the minds of Americans, the effects of second hand and thirdhand smoke has
not. Two thirds of the smoke from a cigarette is not draw in by the smoker, but enters the air and
environment around the smoker, this smoke is exactly the same as the third of smoke that was inhaled
into the lungs of the smoker. ( Second hand Smoke ) Second and third hand smoke may cause cancers
of the larynx (voice box), pharynx (throat), bladder, nasal sinuses, rectum, breast, brain, stomach in
adults and brain tumours, lymphoma and leukemia in children. ( Second hand Smoke ) Second hand
smoke is the smoke inhaled involuntary by others produced by burning tobacco.
Unfortunately second hand smoke has twice the chemicals originate in the direct inhalation of tobacco
found in cigarettes. ( Secondhand Smoke ) Non smokers who inhale the polluted air are likely to get
many serious diseases such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (emphysema and chronic
bronchitis), heart disease, lung cancer, asthma and other diseases. ( Second Hand Smoke ) Third hand

Factors that Caused the Demographic and Economic Decline...
In 2013, Americans witnessed a slowly sinking ship finally submerge. Once a bustling urban center
rife with economic prosperity, the city of Detroit, Michigan filed for the largest municipal bankruptcy
case in U.S history on July 18, 2013 (Fletcher, 2013). Over recent decades, Detroit has been the victim
of both economic and demographic decay. To put the magnitude of the city s desolation in perspective,
during the middle of the twentieth century, the city s population was approximately 1,850,000, making
it, at the time, the fifth most populous city in the nation. As of 2013 census data, however, the city has

By examining the relationship between the fall of the city s industry chiefly the automotive industry
and racial conflict, this essay serves to highlight the factors that caused both the demographic and
economic decline of Detroit in regards to Marxist theory. Karl Marx (1818 1883) was a German
sociologist and philosopher renowned for his analyses of political economy. According to his theories,
capitalism is dependent on exploitation. That is, the working class (the proletariat) works for the
owning class (the bourgeoisie), but rather than receive a compensation equivalent to its actual labor, or
production value, the working class is underpaid, with a surplus, or profit, pouring into the pockets of
the owners. Although the proletariat receives the short end of the stick, so to speak, its members are
forced to sell labor power to the bourgeoisie in order to receive wages necessary for survival. Thus,
conflict between the owners and workers, known as mutual antagonism, is inherit in the capitalist

The Importance Of High Cost Of Education In America
The cost of education has risen at such a fast pace that it has surpassed the average household income,
plunged thousands into debt, and made the dream of achieving a higher education to better oneself
even farther out of reach. Education does not need to be free of cost, but it does not need to put
Americans in crippling debt either, we need to ask questions and together challenge the policies that
are having a profound effect on us and future generations. The cost of an education in America has
eclipsed the annual income in the majority of households. The decision to attend college, or for
families to send their offspring to college, is one that takes careful planning for. Many families will
save for the entire life of a child to be able ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cost of tuition for only one person in the family accounts for 38.97% of the total household
income as per 2012 2013 data. $1.2 trillion in debt related to educational costs is being held between
around 40 million Americans. It is time for a new set of priorities. Time to set a goal to educate
America, a goal to relieve millions of their debt accrued in an attempt to make a life for themselves.
Time for those other than the educators themselves to stop making millions off of people seeking to

Brown V. Board Of Education Of Topeka
Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, 347 U.S. 483 (1954), was a landmark United States Supreme
Court case in which the Court declared state laws establishing separate public schools for black and
white students to be unconstitutional. The decision overturned the Plessy v. Ferguson decision of
1896, which allowed state sponsored segregation, insofar as it applied to public education. Handed
down on May 17, 1954, the Warren Court s unanimous (9 0) decision stated that separate educational
facilities are inherently unequal. As a result, de jure racial segregation was ruled a violation of the
Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution. This ruling
paved the way for integration and was a major victory of the Civil Rights Movement.[1] However, the
decision s fourteen pages did not spell out any sort of method for ending racial segregation in schools,
and the Court s second decision in Brown II only ordered states to desegregate with all deliberate
speed . Contents [hide] 1 Background 2 Case 2.1 Filing and arguments 2.2 Supreme Court review 2.3

Cave Paintings Such As Those At Lascaux And Altamira
What are common motifs found in cave paintings such as those at Lascaux and Altamira? Summarize
the current theories about their original meaning and purpose Cave paintings are seen now in our
society is a snapshot of just what they people during that time cherished when it comes to prehistoric
art. The Lascaux brought about many things and showed historians what the appreciated most during
that time. In this cave, there were many depicted cows, bulls, and dear along the natural ledges of the
rock, where the smooth white limestone of the ceiling and upper wall meets a rougher surface below.
All of this is a great example of what the humans during that time saw and thought of importance, the
many animals that they came across and what they looked like, I think it paved the way for other
people to see just how dangerous they can be large. The Altamira was another example of many
animists that the humans came across overall, the many details of the animal s legs and also a
depiction of humans and their interactions with the animals. Now there are many theories out there
that go into detail about the originals, meaning, and purpose of these cave paintings, I will now share a
couple that I think is significant. The first one had to do with how the cave paintings might be
products, both of rites to strengthen clan bonds and ceremonies to enhance the fertility if animals used
for food. The second one is hoof prints, patterns of animal feces, and hide colorings were recorded and

C. Lun s Case Study
I was deep in the water. I just knew if I held onto him, I d survive (C. Lun, personal communication,
June 10, 2016). Lun experienced a tragedy that turned her life upside down. In 2007, early in the
morning at 4:30 am, everything changed, she lost her son and daughter in the water. She and her
children was traveling Malaysia by boat to meet her husband and the kid s father. The boat they were
on and another boat collided and began to sink. Only she made it to land alive. From this tragic, grief
affects her in all forms the body, mind, emotions, and spirit. Even though there are many reasons to
snap and give up on life, she picked herself up, never gave up and always stayed strong. Her oldest
daughter, Dim was an independent child and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the trip, Cing never had I chance to think back and reflect and grieve. The whole accident,
losing her kids, and everything was a blur. At the time, she was in a denial that her children ever left
her side. Hours later she was in a waiting room for her husband to pick her up. When she met her
husband, she saw much sorrow and the red, restless eyes from spending many nights crying. . He had
already heard of the news of his kids, he was there to pick up her wife, no one else. She could not help
herself, she broke down in tears. . ...The first year after a child s death is the most difficult. In any loss,
the first everything is always tough. Anniversaries, birthdays and holidays are guaranteed to trigger a
deluge of pain and tears (Guballa, 2000, pp. 1) Losing a child is difficult enough that Cing lost both
her kids at the same time while on her watch. She blames herself for their deaths, she felt like she
could have do something, but the truth is she was a victim herself, she was drowning too. Soon after,
Cing was immediately hospitalized. Cing still had lots of salty ocean water in her system from the
accident and scars from mosquito s bites all over her body. According to AAMFT, Parents describe the
feeling as having a hole in their heart that will never heal, and may blame themselves and ask, If only

Home Schooling Education
Homeschooling is the education of children at home, usually taught by a parent or tutor, rather than in
public or private school. Homeschooling is an option for families living in isolated rural locations,
living temporarily abroad, or families who travel often. This method of education is growing around
the world. Homeschools use different educational methods such as: Unit Studies, All in One Curricula,
Natural Learning, and Autonomous Learning. In the Unit Studies method multiple subjects are studied
in relation to a single topic. The All in One Curricula is another method in which the curriculum and
homework of the student are similar or identical to the curriculum at a public or private school.
Natural Learning is a method where children follow knowledge based on their interest and the parents
take part in their learning activities. In the Autonomous Learning method, the child is responsible for
their own learning environment. Parents give different reasons for choosing to homeschool their
children. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, the three reasons parents chose
homeschooling were: their concern about the school environment, to provide religious or moral
instruction, and unhappiness with the curriculum available at other schools (Gaither 1).
Homeschooling happened because of the changes in public school and in families. Public schools
grew larger and the schools began to add offensive courses to their curriculum. Milton Gaither states,

Modern Girl Analysis
The songs, Mother Mother , Modern Girl , Rill Rill , and Popular , convey the message that trying to
fit other people s expectations of perfection leads to an unhappy, empty life. Both singers in the songs
Mother Mother and Modern Girl try to comform to other people s expectations for them, but convey
their true feelings through audio cues. The singer in Mother Mother sings, If I tell you what you want
to hear will it help you to sleep . The singer wants to please her mother by fitting her expectations of
being a perfect daughter. However lying to her mother about being who she wants her to be makes her
unhappy and angry. Throughout the song she assures her mother that, everythings fine This line is
repeated throught the song. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The singer in Rill Rill sings, you re here to win friends . The word win suggests that the person is
trying to impress other people to make them be their friend. They are trying to fit their ideals to
impress them and win them as a friend. Also the more friends won the more popular they are, which
means they have fit their society s ideal. Once the singer has obtained friends they, tell them about the
new trends . This shows their concern with following the new cool thing soceity in concerned with.
They keep worring about superficious things, without society s approval their life woukd be empty.
The singer in the song Popular also is concerned with being seen as perfect and popular by their peers.
The repetition of the line, I m popular shows how they are reassuring themselfes that they are
important because other people like them. They base their entire slef value on how perfect others
precieve them to be. Without their approval the singer would feel empty. Simularly to the singer in the
song Rill Rill who was concerned with superfical things like follwoing trends, this singer in Popular is
concened with things like, own[ing] a car , or being, never last picked , or a teachers pet . These things
are entirerly baced off of if others precieve them to be perfect or not. If they fail to live up to their
standards of perfection the singer would be left wth

In the world this happens a lot because it is a hard thing to excepted. Lucille Fletcher, the author of The Hitchhiker shows the fear of death through the eyes of the main character that can not escape that he is dead. He is being followed by a Hitchhiker that is representing death because the main character is dead which goes back to not admitting that someone is dead. The Structural Change Of Silver Nannoparticles Systematic studies on the structural change of silver nanoparticles, which are easy to change shape and exhibit excellent localized surface plasmon resonance effect, were carried out and the predicted shape change was compared to the actual nanoparticles. Herein, key information on the alteration of silver nanoparticles was determined theoretically by a computational method, discrete dipole approximation (DDA). The galvanic reaction and sulfidation reaction were suggested to improve the stability of silver nanoprism (AgNP). In addition, the effect of additionally generated spherical particles, silver nanosphere (AgNS), on the absorbance was studied. The first solution for the scattering and absorption properties of a spherical nanoparticle was provided by Mie et al. [10,11]. Since the initial development of Mie theory, it is now well known that the strong optical properties of plasmonic nanoparticles result from an induced coherent oscillation of the free conduction band electrons within the plasmonic nanoparticle. Thus, in our previous studies [12,13], bimetallic Au/Ag nanoframes with excellent LSPR feature were prepared via the galvanic replacement reaction and sulfidation and successfully used as the spectator for Co2+ ion. However, there is no theoretical interpretation of color changes with structural transformation of Au/Ag nanoframes from Ag nanoprisms. Therefore, herein, we used a theoretical approach to determine the key information on the alteration of Ag nanoparticles by using a computational method, discrete dipole approximation (DDA). It is very adaptive to deal with various particle shapes, not just limited to highly symmetrical geometries. DDA is used to estimate the optical properties of plasmonic materials responding to external electrical field through dipole moments of discretized dipoles [14 17]. Instead, he discovers Ishmael in Room 105 of a undistinguished office building. Sitting calmly, Ishmael gently nibbled on a slender branch. Appalled, Quinn stumbled towards the chair. Ishmael and Quinn gazed into each other s eyes, and much to his disgruntlement, the glowing eyes spoke to him. Nodding his head to the unspoken question, Ishmael quietly said, I am the teacher. Ishmael explains that Quinn is part of a culture, that results in him being taught certain stories between the relationships of man, the world, and the Gods. These explanations will be made clearer to the pupil by being assisted in recognizing why the stories are misleading. Ishmael s goal will show the narrator that human history comes from two groups, the Takers and the Leavers. These groups legislate two completely different stories about man, the world, and the Gods. The City-Soul Dichotomy In Plato s Republic In the Republic, the city soul analogy serves as the starting point from which Plato builds the dialogue, and its implications phantasmically loom in the background of the work s political and philosophical deliberations. At the end of Republic II, Socrates, in an effort to impugn Thrasymachus commendation of injustice, asserts that a just soul and a just man will live well, and an unjust one badly. (Republic 353e) Socrates therefore believes that the just live better lives than those who are unjust, and to demonstrate this to his main interlocutors he considers a city in which justice is applied. Justice is ultimately found to possess universal qualities, one of which includes being a product of the pursuit of the form of the good. Further consistencies between the city and soul are evinced by Republic VIII and IX where Socrates finds equivalence among the specific dynamics of various political systems and natural constitutions of the soul. Humanistic Theory On The Jarvis Family Implementing the Humanistic Theory on the Jarvis Family Introduction Most cases that are being investigated by social work agencies often include various parts, people and ways in which the client is helped. The case involving the Jarvis family is a case of reported sexual child abuse. Child Welfare Services became aware of the abuse when Kay Partridge, school nurse, contacted the agency in fear of the children s well being. The case came about after Marie and Joanne Jarvis teachers noticed a change in the girls behaviors and had reported in to the principle who then contacted Ms. Partridge. Eventually Marie and Joanne had admitted that their father, Kenneth Jarvis, had been sexually abusing them for years. Also, their mother, Jean Jarvis, had admitted to know about the abuse, but was unsure of how she could protect both herself and her children from Mr. Jarvis. As a result, the agency is hoping to work with Mrs. Jarvis and her daughters to help them cope with the effects of the incident can have on Marie, Joanne, and Mrs. Jarvis. In order to help the family, the social worker would implement a human behavior therapy as a way for both parties to understand why they, the client, are behaving in a certain way. • 22. George Bernard Shaw s Pygmalion Critique Values And... Pygmalion Essay Essay question: Plays make powerful comments about societal structures. How does Shaw s Pygmalion critique values and attitudes prevalent in the early 1900 s? George Bernard Shaw was an Irish immigrant in England, ostracised from society because of his appearance and heritage rather than from judgement of his person, this kept him apart from most social classes of the time. This feeling of not fitting in may have inspired Shaw to write the play Pygmalion which premiered in 1914 to comment on the shallow nature of the people of this era and satirise the class system. To do this Shaw introduced Eliza Doolittle, a class chameleon, to guide the audience through the corrupt social hierarchy and give light to those who don t have a real place in the structure, like himself and Eliza who are judged based on appearance and speech. Shaw confronted his audience with his satirical reflection of reality; speech defines a persons class instead of what they have to say and to appear beautiful is more important than to be kind. Emphasising these important aspects in different ways in various characters gives an interesting view on how this class system influenced the people in their context. Pygmalion is a both reflection of influence of class and the values it promotes which Shaw skilfully uses to criticise inequality of all those within it. Shaw critiques the shallow views of people from the 1900 s by completely disregarding their belief in the correlation between ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When Oedipus, the eponymous character of Sophocles tragedy Oedipus Rex, first learns that he is destined to kill his father and marry his mother, he abandons his home intent on never returning in order to avoid meeting his fate. Unbeknownst to the tragic hero, before the curtain s rise, the prophecy has already been fulfilled. Consequently, due to the underlying corruption in Thebes, the people are perishing of a plague that will not cease until the man responsible for the death of the previous Theban King, King Laius, is identified and brought to justice. The significance of this theme is conveyed through Sophocles and Shakespeare s usage of dialog, characterization, and symbolism. To start, Sophocles and Shakespeare utilize dialog to illustrate the theme of exile within their respective works. Attempting to ease Oedipus s mind by convincing him that he has nothing to fear in the predictions of the oracles, Jocasta gives the ironic example of the plot to kill her own infant son to avoid a similar prophecy. Sophocles dialog for Jocasta states, But Laius,/ so the report goes at least, was killed by strangers,/ thieves, at a place where three roads meet ... [M]y son / he wasn t three days old and the boy s father/ fastened his ankles, had a henchman fling him away on a barren, trackless mountain./ There, you see? (787 793). Although exile, or at least the threat of exile, is prevalently addressed within the dialog of both works, Jocasta s rashness to murder her child is jarring, even more so due to the inappropriately comforting tone with which Jocasta retrospects on such a sinister deed. Likewise, King Lear responds irrationally when he promptly arranges a marriage for Cordelia to the King of France after Cordelia admits that she loves her father only to the extent that it is appropriate for a daughter to love her father. Shakespeare s written dialog for Lear reads, Let her be thine, for we/ Have no such daughter, nor shall ever see/That face of hers again (1.4.264 266). Like Jocasta, who indicated by the ... Not to mention that I always have been fascinated by them... Maddy: Yeah, it really is a great topic. Now I know that people link phobias with fear. Is that really what a phobia is? Just fear? That is, the working class (the proletariat) works for the owning class (the bourgeoisie), but rather than receive a compensation equivalent to its actual labor, or production value, the working class is underpaid, with a surplus, or profit, pouring into the pockets of the owners. Although the proletariat receives the short end of the stick, so to speak, its members are forced to sell labor power to the bourgeoisie in order to receive wages necessary for survival. Thus, conflict between the owners and workers, known as mutual antagonism, is inherit in the capitalist system, as workers fight for higher wages and shorter working days while owners attempt to combat these demands to maximize profit. This ruling paved the way for integration and was a major victory of the Civil Rights Movement.[1] However, the decision s fourteen pages did not spell out any sort of method for ending racial segregation in schools, and the Court s second decision in Brown II only ordered states to desegregate with all deliberate speed . The Lascaux brought about many things and showed historians what the appreciated most during that time. In this cave, there were many depicted cows, bulls, and dear along the natural ledges of the rock, where the smooth white limestone of the ceiling and upper wall meets a rougher surface below. In the Autonomous Learning method, the child is responsible for their own learning environment. Parents give different reasons for choosing to homeschool their children.
