Aloha Airlines Case Analysis Essay
1. AIRCRAFT MISHAP TIMELINE
On 28 April 1988, Aloha Airlines Flight 243, a Boeing 747 based out of Honolulu International
Airport, Hawaii, began operations on what was scheduled for six inter island flights. The First Officer
checked in with Aloha Airlines Flight Operations about 5:00am followed by the Captain shortly after.
The aircraft log was signed off and released for flight with no open write ups. They both completed
pre departure duties and proceeded to the aircraft. All pre flight preparations were performed in the
crew compartment and a visual external aircraft inspection was performed. The first officer was
pleased with the aircraft after the walk around and deemed it Ready for flight .

The Captain immediately took the controls of the aircraft. All three flight crew members including the
air traffic controller, put on their oxygen masks. As the aircrew looked back they could see that the
cockpit door missing and they could see blue sky through the hole in the aircraft.
The aircraft was to some extent unstable and was responding to flight control inputs. Captain
immediately began a rapid emergency descent towards Kahului airport on the island of Maui. The
First Officer began calling Air Traffic Control (ATC) to report the flight divert and the state of
emergency. The First Officer could not hear an ATC reply due to the high noise of air blowing through
the crew compartment and cabin. On approach, the First Officer swapped over to the tower radio
frequency and made contact with ATC.
The tower dispatched the emergency response to the runway. The aircraft continued to approach the
airport at an appropriate and safe speed although the flight controls felt sluggish. The aircrew stated
that the controls felt loose with the aircraft rolling left and right. The gear was selected down and the
main gear down position light illuminated. The nose gear light did not illuminate. A manual extension
of the nose gear was performed but the gear light did not illuminate. The gear unsafe light did not
extinguish. Due to these indications the aircrew was given the impression that they would be landing

Analysis Of Anti-Intellectualism Why We Hate The Smart...
In Grant Penrod s Anti Intellectualism: Why We Hate the Smart Kids essay, he argues that academic
achievements should be acknowledged equally just as an athletic achievement. Smart kids do not
receive the acknowledgment that they deserve since society has a negative look regarding smart kids.
Anti Intellectualism is hostile feelings towards intellectuals or intellectual thoughts. Society tends to
celebrate non intellectuals. The essay talks about smart kids being labeled social outcasts for the
reason that average kids have separated themselves from kids smarter than them. Smart kids feel as if
they should retain their intelligence just to fit in a judgmental world. Penrod s argument is effective
because his topic is still relevant to today s time and his use of examples that he incorporated
throughout the essay. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Penrod says, The result of anti intellectualism is a crushing disregard for the lives and achievements of
fellow human beings (Penrod 755). He is saying that through these anti intellectual practices, non
intellectuals seem to make sure to actively dismiss and disparage other individual s successes. Instead
of intellectuals being seen in a positive light, there is a disfavor for intellectuals that have become an
enormous part of society. Through Penrod s examination, he uses pathos to draw his audience in to
feel pity for the intellectuals. He makes the non intellectuals seem as if they are bullies picking on the
little guy. Penrod does this because he knows people will sympathize for the little guy. This makes his
argument effective because people will stand up and defend the little guys, the

When Theodore Roosevelt Saved Football Summary
In his historical article When Theodore Roosevelt Saved Football , Bruce Watson evaluates the
brutality that often occurred in 20th century football and how Theodore Roosevelt influenced the
safety procedures currently enforced in modem day competition. Although being respected by the 26th
president, Roosevelt himself was never an active football player; however, he was influenced by his
respect for the game and his own son s lethal experiences who was knocked unconscious. At the time,
Injuries had been occurring at alarming rates with a total of 45 men dying at the hands of fans

The persistence of earnings and earnings components after the adoption of IFRS Based on the research
paper of Doukakis (2010), working with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) may
impact determining earnings and earnings components. An analysis of data collected from all non
financial companies listed on the Athens Stock Exchange, before and after the implementation of the
IFRS, implies that the adoption of the IFRS system does not appear to have a positive impact on
earnings. Because of the use of the IFRS for a better financial reporting and an ease in decision
making process, the utilization of other accounting procedures are restricted, which results in a
decrease in reporting accounting data. A critical observation, based on the empirical findings, suggests
that IFRS adoption has no effect on the persistence of earnings and earnings components for
profitability in future. On the other hand, the outcome of the findings, illustrates that using the IFRS
principles appears to reduce the persistence of operating income (for the year 2006) as well as the
persistence of non operating income (for the years 2005 and 2006) (Doukakis, 2010). In other words,
the study was able to prove that, although it does not entail that IFRS earnings are of a lower quality,
an immediate decline in the explanatory power of all research models occur after implementation of
IFRS.
The impact of IFRS

The Live Performance Of Dolly Parton s Just Because I m A...
Dolly represents the social inequality that was a main problem during this era.
The live performance of Dolly Parton s Just Because I m A Woman, shows artist sound, performance,
and clothing for the traditional era. The sound of her song started softly and the pitch increased as it
reached the chorus. Dolly Parton showed much more emotion and energy than Tammy Wynette
portrayed in her song. In addition, Dolly Parton dressed conservatively wearing a dressy church dress
as she performed. Parton, a traditional artist, represented the traditional era with her conservative
clothing; however, she went against the norm when she began questioning gender roles.
There is a shift from traditional to more modern country music. Modern artist Carrie Underwood
shows a significant shift from traditional to modern country music in her 2005 song, Before He
Cheats. Although there is not complete feminism inserted into her song, being a liberated woman is
feminist. For example, Underwood reaps the benefits of the sexual revolution and the feminist
movement without her music being feminist. This change in modern country music causes the lyric
content, sound, stage performance, and artist clothing to also change from the traditional artists. The
Before He Cheats lyrics below will show a change in the lyric content and sound:
Right now he s probably slow dancing with a bleached blond tramp,
And she s probably getting frisky...

John Kay Accomplishments
The famous mathematician that I have chosen is John Napier and he was the creator of logarithms. I
choose John Napier because I his invention of logarithms was one of the many math inventions that I
don t find annoying to do. Also, it felt like he would have a detailed biography thanks to his well
known creation along with it catching my eye when looking at a list of mathematicians. I wasn t
inspired by him or his creation, but it feels like what he created was worth taking up my time to write
about him. Therefore, this paper will be about John Napier s early life, his contributions and
accomplishments, theology, and his legacy. John Napier was born February 1st, 1550 and was born
into a wealthy family, so he had a head start in his education thanks to private tutors. He was an
intelligent child and went to the University of St. Andrews at the age of thirteen. There is no indication
that he graduated but it is shown that he had study abroad. He went to Europe to study in Paris and
Italy to which he returned home in 1571. When he returned he married a woman named Elizabeth
Stirling in 1573 and had two kids. He later received his father s estates along with a castle to live in

Judaism And Judaism
Since the rise of Judaism, Jewish followers have faced an extensive history of exploitation. The
cultural and religious practices of Judaism were foreign and unfathomable during this time, especially
for other religious groups like Christians. Jews were not necessarily understood and were perceived as
being Greedy, wanderers, untrustworthy, and failures (Fermaglich, lecture, 07 September 2017).
Ultimately Judaism s vision was rejected and the followers were unwelcome in the kingdom, leading
to the diaspora. Once the dispersal of Jews occurred, they were living in the surrounding areas rather
than living within close proximity to one another. Judaism evolved and diversified due to the diaspora,
and later immigration. Today, the Jewish religion that used to have one common set of practices now
differs between the four sects of the religion. These include Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, and
Secular. Although there are distinct religious differences, the branches of Judaism are bound together
by the values, traditions, and historical experiences, creating a unified group of people. One difference
that falls under the category of traditions among Jews is keeping kosher. Kashruth entails following
specific dietary requirements such as not mixing meat and dairy or eating pork and shellfish.
(Fermaglich, lecture, 07 September 2017). Although this tradition was originally followed religiously,
overtime due to the modernization of Judaism, this has changed depending on the

The upcoming movie trailers we get before the start of every feature can either be a great advantage or

hit with crippling disappointment that the movie is 95% horrible and the 5% of the good stuff was
what pretty much made up the trailer. Or we have a movie like 10 Cloverfield Lane. Where the trailer

Ethical Dilemmas And The Ethical Dilemma
Ethical dilemmas occur when there is a disagreement about a situation and all parties involved
question how they should behave based on their individual ethical morals. (Newman Pollnitz, 2005).
The dilemma that I will be addressing in this essay involves Michael, recently employed male
educator working in the nursery, and parents of a baby enrolled at the centre. The parents have raised
concerns about male educators changing their child s nappy as they have cultural practices that do not
allow this practice to take place. This situation is classed as an ethical dilemma as there is a dispute
between cultural beliefs and legal requirements within the workplace. There are four parties involved
(parents, child, educator and director), all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This will allow the parents and child to feel a sense of belonging in the child care centre. Element 6.1,
quality area 6 of the National Quality Standards (NQS) outlines the importance of relationships in
regard to the parents, their child/children and educators. (Australian Children s Education Care
Quality Authority [ACECQA], n.d.). Michael has considered the families cultural beliefs and has
decided to remain respectful of their request, but is concerned about his rights concerning gender
discrimination (Australian Human Rights Commission, n.d.). Michael has a right to retain his position
in the nursery room regardless of the issue with nappy changes for this one child. To allow for
minimal disruption and any further consequences, the situation is to be kept confidential. This is a
short term resolution. The situation should be monitored and there may be long term issues if the
parents fail to form a relationship with Michael. Therefore, this may result in Michael requesting a
change of room in the future (Ethical group discussion, 2017). The resolution was reached through
exploring the steps involved in the ERC. As a group, (each group member representing a person in the
dilemma) we examined eight steps in the ERC. Throughout each phase, the child s primary best
interests were considered by all parties. As the director progressed through the ERC, it became clear
that both the parents and Michael have legal rights that need to be addressed.

The Portrayal Of A Female Character
From helpless damsel in distresses to powerful superheroines, female characters in comics have sure
made it a long way. They have gone from underdeveloped supporting characters, such as the love
interest or sidekick to someone who owns the spotlight with their combat skills and superpowers. This
shift in portrayal is being acknowledged and praised by many comic book readers who have been
hoping for a very long time that females will one day become more realistically portrayed. However,
despite this, there are still a select few who choose to shift the focus away from the impact
superheroines are having and instead focus on their flaws and what they still consider to be wrong
with their portrayal. The main flaw being their appearance, specifically their unrealistic body types,
readers and nonreaders of comics each have their own opinion on how a female character should be
portrayed and they aren t afraid to fight for it. Jill Lepore, a Harvard professor and staff writer at The
New Yorker, shares her opinions on the new Marvel comic entitled A Force in her controversial article
published in The New Yorker. The article is renowned for calling out female superheroes on looking
like porn stars while highlighting the fact that majority of them have large breasts and slim waists.
One notable description is that of Sister Grimm as Lepore describes her as a goth girl [with] fishnet
stockings [and a] purple and black bustier (para 5). It is easy to agree with Lepore s statement

Water Quality Of Drinking Water
Time Magazine, had reported that, over 4,000 chemicals have been found in our drinking water. This
may not seem serious, but it is Water quality is sometimes unseen, it is a serious issue yet often
ignored by many. Most people are convinced that bottle water is the best solution therefore no one
really questions the quality of tap water. As a result, tap water is rarely investigated, and this leads to a
detrimental issues. A three year study was conducted, for the testing of water quality, as a result the
report has found more than 200 unregulated chemicals in the tap water of 45 states. This seems very
alarming and devastating water quality, however, that may not be the case. The most common bottled
waters are Fiji® Bottled Water and Dasani bottled water share the same common traits. Much of
bottled water s popularity comes from the perception that it tastes better. However, in blind taste tests,
people cannot tell bottled water from tap water and, in some cases, prefer water from the tap. For a
small scale experiment on this Water is crucial for our environment and our survival as a species. It is
the key element that completes us because humans are composed of 25% of water. Since we are
dependent on water it is necessary for the water to be clean. Since we are so dependent on Water, we

Three phrases of the tune which was given to clarinets and bassoons, has its cadence echoed by low
strings. Passages developed from the first theme then led gradually to its return in its original calm
mood after a brief climax. A brief coda was made by a new and happy melody referring to the main
theme.
The third movement was lighter than any of the other movements. But the middle section referred to
the single note motive which was grown as symphony progressed.
With the finale the grand returned, peoples were at once concerned with weighty issues. The
suspension was highly impressive making peoples feel something great impending. The themes were
many and various. But they flowed from one to another smoothly. Then the movement was fully
developed as the exuberant conclusion theme came out, fast and furiously. There also followed a
series of developments some ingenious and some powerful. Then the movement went into end. The
loud horn proclamation died slowly through sublet changing harmonies, until by a modulation. Then
the entire color and atmosphere of the music changed to half light. The original halting form of the
theme recurred briefly but only for a moment. With the development of the melody, in slow rhythm,
soft entrances of four initial motives echoed from bass to treble leading to a timid but happy and

With the adoption of new flavors and packaging, we need to weigh both the benefits and the risks
associated with changing the product s packaging. Lets begin with laying out the risks associated with
the change in packaging. The excerpt tells us that the market for Tic Tac breath mints has increased

Jackie Robinson and integration are two phrases that cannot be segregated. Whether he liked it or not,
he played the star role in the integration of society during the time that he played Major League

The Dodgers got their name from the electric streetcars in Brooklyn that were so dangerous that
people had to be skilled amp;#8220;dodgers ; of them in order not to get run over. Why was Brooklyn
the place that integration could occur? After World War Two, Brooklyn had transformed from a white
middle class population to a mix of blacks, Latinos and Jews. amp;#8220;About half of Brooklyn
amp;#8217;s population was Jewish; among the Dodger faithful, Jews were probably far more ready
than any other major group, such as the Irish or the Italians, to identify with the fight against the Jim

Communism And Communism
Communism is a belief that there shall be greater equality and honesty will be granted in the world
(Sheldon). There was a huge discrimination between those living in poverty versus those who are
wealthy. In order to end this, people believed that a combat between the two sides was the only way to
do so, causing lots of violence and injury. Despite this, the result of combat was social and economic
justice to those who were not originally given it (Ali). Citizens living in poverty were often paid less
money than the wealthy, even if they were doing the exact same task, so when equality was given to
the working class, many people s lives were influenced positively. Communists believed it was their
duty to whip out capitalism, and they did this by targeting the upper class citizens and formed
communist blocs, who were the socialist states who practiced communism (Ali). There were four
major ideas in communism. The first idea was that members believed in both the society and God. The
members do not have the freedom to believe in whatever they would like, which the United States
allowed. The second main idea is citizens economic state determine many other qualities which dictate
your lifestyle. The members believe that your economic factors affect who you interact with, and
people are vulnerable to change based on how their economic state changes. The last main idea is the
society believes in socialism, which is means that the government has control over people s ability to

cases may not be real I feel like people do have scenarios similar to the cases. There was one episode
in which a rape victim had identified the person she believed had attacked her, with so much certainty
she KNEW it was he. Needless to say, it had turned out she mistook the person who attacked her with
someone who had similar features. In a Ted Talk by Elizabeth Loftus she states examples of people

Gramarye Character Comparison Essay
Will Stanton is a dynamic character meaning that he changes throughout the book. As the book
progresses, he starts to change and become more accustomed to the fact that he is an Old One that has
a quest that he must fulfill. The moment that is most crucial to Will s change was after he read the

further and further, the book would take him on an actual experience of what the verses meant. With
the experiences from the book, Will gained knowledge on things such as spells, survival against evil,
the magic in trees, names of stars and planets, and the storyline behind the Old Ones. Using his new

The Day I Lost My Innocence
The day I lost my innocence was the day my life was forever changed. For the past couple of days we
have been hearing about the civil wars in the different Liberian counties. I can hear the fear in my dad
s voice as he tells me of the horrible things the rebels are doing. They are killing all of the people that
do not support or believe in what they are doing. I am from one of the richest countries in the world,
blessed with many natural resources. This small West African country called Liberia, is one of the
world s largest exporters of rubber, diamonds, and gold. But this beautiful country will never hold the
esteemed place that it once held. War has torn this beautiful land a part. I hate wars, I hate everything
about them. If I had the power and the chance to do great things in this world, I would do everything
in my power to stop people from fighting war; so that people don t have to die. But interestingly, my
view on wars was not always this way. At one point in my life, the idea of war was exciting to me,
mostly because it was always glorified. From what I saw on television, war movies were depicted with
beautiful story lines that made me want to take part in that exhilarating experience. But this view was
suddenly changed when I was forced to take a man s life. My troubles all started just one month ago
when the rebels finally took over the capital city of Liberia, called Monrovia. I awoke to barrels of
gun fire, everything I knew and loved to do was takin from

Labour laws on the treatment and participation of children in the workforce during the British
Industrial Revolution. Clark Nardinelli, Carolyn Tuttle, and Jane Humphries are the three central
critics whose work will be focused on through the paper s progression, but other works by Peter Kirby,

This paper will begin with an overview of the incorporation of child labour in Britain, the conditions
in which the children worked, and a summary of the elements of the Acts of 1833 and 1844 the two
laws that are regarded as having made the greatest impact on participation and treatment of the
children. Next, the varying stances of the aforementioned central critics on the effects of the laws
within the textile industry will be reviewed, followed by a discussion of their effects on the education
system; and to conclude the evaluation of the textile industry, a cross evaluation of the various critical
opinions will then be presented. Finally, the paper changes focus from the textile industry to the
effects of the child labour laws on the non textile industries.
During the Industrial Revolution, Britain s working landscape made a dramatic shift from agricultural
to factory based mass production of forged resources such as textiles, iron, and glass. With this change
of focus came the necessity for a greater amount of labour. Employers soon discovered that they could
employ a child in the place of an adult since all workers lacked experience due to the newness of the
technology; the machines were powered by forces other than a man s strength, and they could pay

The discovery of America by Christopher Columbus in 1492 and the subsequent conquest of this
continent by Spaniards and Portuguese reverberated from the 16th Century on another region of the
planet, somewhat removed from the events of conquest: Africa.
Although separated both continents by the Atlantic Ocean, with completely different historical, social
and economic developments, from the XVI Century a rapprochement between America and Africa
takes place. The reason for this approach lies in the fact that the conquest of America, with all the
natural wealth and development prospects it offered to its conquerors, required the indispensable

Difference Between Private And Private Sector
Introduction :
The most basic distinction between public and private organizations is that the political community
own public agencies whereas ownership of private organizations belongs to entrepreneurs or
shareholders.
However, there are many other differences between public and private organizations. The funding for
public agencies derives mostly from taxation, which contrasts with private agencies receiving funds
predominately from consumers in the form of fees. In the public sector, organizations are largely
controlled by political forces, which also results in the imposition of constraints by the political
system. Subjection to constraint results in frequent changes in policies within public organizations.
The owners and shareholders of private organizations have a direct incentive to monitor the behaviour
of managers to promote better performance and financial gain.
Summary
The development of the private sector and its expansion in all spheres of society increasingly
emphasizes the attempts to alleviate the differences between the public sector and the private sector.
The collaboration of these two areas demonstrates their interdependence and their role in the overall
functioning of the national economy and of society as a whole.
The widespread use of private sector methods and theories on organizing the management process
points to the fact that private sector ideas can be transferred and can be used in the field of civil
service. It is believed that through

Normality In Frankenstein
The characterisation of monsters is a significant image of the gothic genre. Whether their actions are a
physical manifestation, as in the case of the monsters in Frankenstein, The Island of Doctor Moreau
and Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, or a more supernatural being, as demonstrated in The Castle of Otranto or
The Little Stranger, their purpose serves to provide anxiety tension and violence to the narrative. Their
unrelenting pursuit of the protagonist inspires the narrative to its absolute conclusion, where the
monster is defeated, often in an explicit and gory manner, and for the most part with the protagonist
experiencing a sense of jubilant deliverance and moral satisfaction. David Punter and Glennis Byron

Hello, as you all may know my names Ami Watson.
Today s presentation will offer you an insight into my exploration of dreams and the influences they
offer our creative stimulus in response to photography.
Throughout this presentation I aim to offer you all an insight into the world of surrealism and dreams.
Firstly I will introduce you to the surrealist movement and some relevant themes with surrealist art.
Then explore the defined states of consciousness, moving into explaining what a dream is. Next will
be a brief touch on what influences visual stimulating tools have upon art, flowing through to
surrealism and dreams. Here I will talk about the contrasting views of the surrealist and Freudian
opinions of dream definition and expression.
After I will produce a few artists who have used dreams to influence their creativity within bodies of
work, each using different aspects of dreams as a tool. And to wrap up my exploration I will produce
my conclusion on the matter and express how this body of research has influenced me within my own
photography. Thank you for listening, I hope you enjoy.

GLOBAL BUSINESS CULTURAL ANALYSIS

Dr. Stephen Preacher
Abstract
International business has been a part of society for centuries. With the introduction of modern
technological advances, countries have moved from participating in business ventures primarily by
land or boat and advanced to virtual environments and acquiring passports that enable flights all over
the world. This impact has challenged businesses to improve their cultural relations as they venture
into unknown markets that are on the opposite end of their cultural spectrum and perspective. The
world is a vast melting pot of all walks of life. The business world is no different and requires even
sharper skills, especially when entering environments that may be tense or chaotic. This paper
examines the country of Italy and how its culture impacts business domestically and internationally. It
discusses the various strengths and weaknesses of its economic environment and the potential gains or
losses a foreign investor may consider when deciding whether or not enter the Italian market.

Machiavelli s Film Mr. Smith Goes To Washington
Niccolò Machiavelli was notorious for his actions and writings as a politician and philosopher, among
many other political and humanitarian titles. He lived in a time period during which Italy was rife with
political conflict, with city states battling each other for power. Machiavelli formated specific opinions
based on his experiences and what he witnessed of others whilst being in and out of the throes of
Italian government. He ended up writing one of his most famous works, The Prince , in an attempt to
return back to power. Within this work, he analyzes the complexities of governance in a sort of how to

The politics of our government today have become increasingly corrupted, which plays to Machiavelli
s disbelief in a more benevolent human nature. In the film Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, a young
senator truly possesses the honesty and virtuosity that most politicians exude and gets completely and
utterly chewed up and spit out by the governmental system. When trying to put a bill into motion, his
political comrades fail to support him and betray him in order to maintain their self interests. Both in
films like these and in real life, virtue tends to become a thing of presentation in order to gain public
approval and loyalty. A highly relevant instance of this is our current presidential election. Both of our
candidates have their evident faults, but they have made appeals to the ethos and pathos of American
citizens and tried to come off as virtuous in their own ways. Social media completely promotes these
tactics, and the government s politics and their connection to appearance over virtue aligns with
Machiavelli s principles. It is evident that the advice he provided to future rulers in The Prince has
evolved and ingrained itself within the very core of America s political

Cultural Relativism Analysis
Cultural moral relativism begins with the idea that morality is relative to culture and that a person s
beliefs and activities are socially approved customs. Therefore, morality is a matter of actions that are
only morally obligatory for a person if it is accepted by that person s culture. Ruth Benedict illustrates
the fact that humans have a full range of customs that human behavior is capable of. The selection
process is non rational and subconscious, similar to selection process for human speech. Using this
analogy, Ruth Benedict was able to prove the cultural moral relativism by showing that nothing
underlies customs, nothing by which can be evaluated. Therefore, cross culture judgement are not
valid. The scenario states that a colleague ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

legal guardian will make the decision. In this particular scenario, the family is from a particular
culture that thought it is morally wrong to be injected with medication. If after I have provided all the
relevant information for them to make an informed decision, I would respect that decision to deny the

American Socialism And Communism
Bernie Sanders official campaign website boasts proudly of the candidate s stance on workers rights.
American socialism historically holds links with American mass labor. Socialism migrated to the
American continent with the immigrants of the nineteenth century. With the progress of
industrialization, immigrants both climbed the economic ladder and labored in the newly created
factories and stores, a level of economic diversity the senator likely finds grossly unfair. * Due to
deplorable labor conditions in certain industries, socialist voices gained an audience. Eugene Debs,
founder of the Socialist Party in America and its many time candidate for president, made this
statement; One question is sufficient to determine the true status

Communicate Wishes For End Of Life Care
I believe that communicating your wishes for end of life care is very important. Talking about end of
life care to the people close to you can make a hard process easier and go smoother. It is also
important that people document their end of life care and wishes for their medical records. A patient
with documented end of life care and wishes will have autonomy and justice even when they are not
mentally or physically able to express their wishes. Gathering the people that you are close to so you
can discuss your end of life care and wishes for most people is a difficult discussion but, a very
important one. Talking about your wishes with your close ones can help make your illness or death
process easier for them and yourself by already having

Conspiracy Theories Of The Illuminati
There are many people in the United States who want to believe that the government is honest with
them, but do the people truly know everything or is there something that is being kept a secret? The
Illuminati was created as a secret government organization that was said to supposedly have control
over every single an aspect of the lives of the regular people. It started in the 18th century by Adam
Weishaupt ( www.theweek.co.uk.org ). The people who are apart of the Illuminati are said to be
famous stars within the popular media. For example, Beyonce and her husband Jay Z are said to be the
rulers, or leaders, of the organization. There are still a lot of controversies about whether or not the
Illuminati is still existing today. It is hard to say whether or not this secret organization exists. There
are many different conspiracy theories about the Illuminati. But once all of the details and theories are
sorted through and broken down, it is not hard to realize that there is something more going on than
the government is allowing the people to see. It is important when talking about the Illuminati to
understand where it all came from. As said previously, the founder of this organization was Adam
Weishaupt. The organization was also founded in Bavaria ( www.theweek.co.uk.org ). This group
wanted to create a new world order and were willing to do whatever it took in order to make that goal
happen. Back then, during the time of the group s existence, the government decided that

A Raisin Review
A Raisin Review Kenneth Hawthorne English/125 3/15/2016 University of Phoenix A Raisin Review
What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or faster like a sore and
then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over like a syrupy sweet? Maybe it sags
like a heavy load. Or does it explode . (Langston Hughes, Harlem) The author Lorraine Hansberry was
born May 19, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois. Lorraine Hansberry s writing style is autobiographical, and
was the first black playwright to create realistic black characters for the stage. Leanne Hansberry s
play a raisin in the sun received multiple most notably the (New York drama critics Circle award for

Ruth also works very and it becomes noticeable after she becomes pregnant. Lena Younger is the
mother and inspirational leader of the Younger family. She knows exactly how to regulate her son and
keep him in sync with his wife. Although Beneatha Younger is a very strong character younger sister
to Walter she has dreams of her own and does not work or participate in the dreams of the family until
the very end. The focus on these two characters is very strong and it shows the true leadership of the
family. Internal conflict. Not all conflict involves other people. Sometimes people are their own worst
enemies. Walter is having an internal conflict is a good test of his values. The question is, does Walter
give in to temptation or rise above it? Does he demand the most from himself or settle for something
less? Does he even bother to struggle? The internal conflicts of a character and how they are resolved
are good clues to the character s inner strength. Although there are four conflicts going on at the same
time Lorraine Hansberry does a great job accessing the reader imagination, so they can put themselves
into Walter s position. As the reader you knew that Walter was going to lose the money, you prayed
that he was able to make good on his promise to his family, but it is hard to stop time go back and

My Personal Experiences In My Life
Essay #1 Have you ever felt like life is difficult? Or not to your expectations? Chances are that we all
have to deal with some difficult situations at times. When I was in Middle School I struggled to fit in
with my classmates. I have always been quiet and just listened to their conversations. They always had
so much to talk about and plans to see movies and other plans such as going to parties and other social
gatherings. But I was never included or invited. I remember one day I came home and went straight to
my room, laid down on my bed and cried. My mom came into my room and asked what was wrong. I
told her what happened that made me feel very sad and cry. A girl in my group passed out invitations
for her birthday party to everyone but me. My mother told me that if I had received the invitation for
the birthday party I would probably be ignored and they would act like as if I wasn t there. And she
also said this is a life lesson that I want you to remember, when you invite someone make sure you
include the whole group or invite privately. Then she told her story about not having time to be with
friends. She came to Santa Barbara from Mexico when she was seventeen years old with her older
sister. A single mother of two daughters, one that was five years old and the other six and a half. And
also my mother s youngest sister who was seven years old. They came to live with their aunt who had
seven children of her own all under eighteen years old. They lived in a four

Problem Statement:
Create 2 formulas, one that will calculate the last number in terms of the first number and a constant
increase in rate as well as the total amount of numbers. The second formula will add ass of the
resulting numbers from the first formula together after the last number is calculated.
Process:
Kevin s Decisions:
In order to put the problem into perspective, I first set up my own possible variables for the first
platform height, the difference in height between each platform, and the total number of platforms. I
came up with the numbers for each variable respectively: 6, 3, and 3. The first platform is 6 feet tall.
There are 3 platforms. The distance between each platform is 3 feet. The ... Show more content on

To find out the total height we could add the height of all of the platforms. However, the total height
can also be determined by a formula since the increase in height from platform to platform is the
same. What I saw was that there are pairs within the heights of the first platform and last platform that
when added result to the same number. For example: If there are 5 platforms in total, the first platform
is 4 feet and the increase in height is 2 feet, the height of the platforms in order are: 4, 6, 8, 10, 12.
The height of the last platform is 12 and the height of the first platform is 4. When we add 4 and 12
the result is 16 and divided by 2 is 8. The 2nd platform is 6 feet and the 4rth platform is 10 feet When
added together and divided by 2 to get the average we get 8. The platform is the average number,
which is 8. I saw this and put it into a formula. I took the height of the first platform and added it to
the last platform, and substituted it for the variables f+l (where l=the height of the last platform). Then
I took the total number of platforms and divided it by 2 to get the average, and multiplied it by the
average of both platforms to get the total height of all of the platforms. This resulting number is the
total length required in square feet of fabric to cover the fronts of the platforms.
I got the formula (x/2)

What is the meaning of history? According to Merriam Webster s online dictionary, history is: past
events that relate to a particular subject, place, organization, etc (Merriam Webster, 2014). Math began
in 30000BC and is still changing now in 2014. During each year, something new has happened. From
30000BC to 127BC there were many things happening for the beginning of math. In 30000BC,
Palaeolithics in Europe and France recorded numbers on bones. Around 25000BC, there were signs of
early geometric designs being used. Egypt was using a decimal number system around 5000BC.

introduced to the Chinese mathematics. In 594, the decimal notation is used for numbers in India.
Around 775, Alcuin of York wrote the elementary texts on arithmetic, geometry, and astronomy.
Around 1200, the Chinese started to use a symbol for zero. In 1248, Li Yeh wrote a book that had
negative numbers which were shown by putting a diagonal strike through the last digit. In 1336, math
became a subject for a degree at the University of Paris (A Mathematical Chronology, 2014). In 1482,
Campanus of Novara s Elements was the first math book to be printed. In 1489, Widman wrote an
arithmetic book in German that had the first appearances of the positive and negative signs. In 1572,
Bombelli published the first three parts of his algebra. He was the first to give the rules for calculating
with complex numbers. In 1595, Pitiscus became the first to employ the term trigonometry in a printed
publication. In 1668, Pell made a table to factors for all integers up to 100,000. In 1675, Leibniz used
the modern notation for an integral for the first time. In 1685, Kochanski gave an approximate method

  • 3. Analysis Of Anti-Intellectualism Why We Hate The Smart... In Grant Penrod s Anti Intellectualism: Why We Hate the Smart Kids essay, he argues that academic achievements should be acknowledged equally just as an athletic achievement. Smart kids do not receive the acknowledgment that they deserve since society has a negative look regarding smart kids. Anti Intellectualism is hostile feelings towards intellectuals or intellectual thoughts. Society tends to celebrate non intellectuals. The essay talks about smart kids being labeled social outcasts for the reason that average kids have separated themselves from kids smarter than them. Smart kids feel as if they should retain their intelligence just to fit in a judgmental world. Penrod s argument is effective because his topic is still relevant to today s time and his use of examples that he incorporated throughout the essay. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He is saying that through these anti intellectual practices, non intellectuals seem to make sure to actively dismiss and disparage other individual s successes. Instead of intellectuals being seen in a positive light, there is a disfavor for intellectuals that have become an enormous part of society. Through Penrod s examination, he uses pathos to draw his audience in to feel pity for the intellectuals. He makes the non intellectuals seem as if they are bullies picking on the little guy. Penrod does this because he knows people will sympathize for the little guy. This makes his argument effective because people will stand up and defend the little guys, the ... The persistence of earnings and earnings components after the adoption of IFRS Based on the research paper of Doukakis (2010), working with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) may impact determining earnings and earnings components. An analysis of data collected from all non financial companies listed on the Athens Stock Exchange, before and after the implementation of the IFRS, implies that the adoption of the IFRS system does not appear to have a positive impact on earnings. Because of the use of the IFRS for a better financial reporting and an ease in decision making process, the utilization of other accounting procedures are restricted, which results in a decrease in reporting accounting data. A critical observation, based on the empirical findings, suggests that IFRS adoption has no effect on the persistence of earnings and earnings components for profitability in future. On the other hand, the outcome of the findings, illustrates that using the IFRS principles appears to reduce the persistence of operating income (for the year 2006) as well as the persistence of non operating income (for the years 2005 and 2006) (Doukakis, 2010). In other words, the study was able to prove that, although it does not entail that IFRS earnings are of a lower quality, an immediate decline in the explanatory power of all research models occur after implementation of IFRS. • 9. The Live Performance Of Dolly Parton s Just Because I m A... Dolly represents the social inequality that was a main problem during this era. The live performance of Dolly Parton s Just Because I m A Woman, shows artist sound, performance, and clothing for the traditional era. The sound of her song started softly and the pitch increased as it reached the chorus. Dolly Parton showed much more emotion and energy than Tammy Wynette portrayed in her song. In addition, Dolly Parton dressed conservatively wearing a dressy church dress as she performed. Parton, a traditional artist, represented the traditional era with her conservative clothing; however, she went against the norm when she began questioning gender roles. There is a shift from traditional to more modern country music. Modern artist Carrie Underwood shows a significant shift from traditional to modern country music in her 2005 song, Before He Cheats. Although there is not complete feminism inserted into her song, being a liberated woman is feminist. For example, Underwood reaps the benefits of the sexual revolution and the feminist movement without her music being feminist. This change in modern country music causes the lyric content, sound, stage performance, and artist clothing to also change from the traditional artists. • 11. Judaism And Judaism Since the rise of Judaism, Jewish followers have faced an extensive history of exploitation. The cultural and religious practices of Judaism were foreign and unfathomable during this time, especially for other religious groups like Christians. Jews were not necessarily understood and were perceived as being Greedy, wanderers, untrustworthy, and failures (Fermaglich, lecture, 07 September 2017). Ultimately Judaism s vision was rejected and the followers were unwelcome in the kingdom, leading to the diaspora. Once the dispersal of Jews occurred, they were living in the surrounding areas rather than living within close proximity to one another. Judaism evolved and diversified due to the diaspora, and later immigration. Today, the Jewish religion that used to have one common set of practices now differs between the four sects of the religion. These include Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, and Secular. Although there are distinct religious differences, the branches of Judaism are bound together by the values, traditions, and historical experiences, creating a unified group of people. One difference that falls under the category of traditions among Jews is keeping kosher. Kashruth entails following specific dietary requirements such as not mixing meat and dairy or eating pork and shellfish. (Fermaglich, lecture, 07 September 2017). Ethical Dilemmas And The Ethical Dilemma Ethical dilemmas occur when there is a disagreement about a situation and all parties involved question how they should behave based on their individual ethical morals. (Newman Pollnitz, 2005). The dilemma that I will be addressing in this essay involves Michael, recently employed male educator working in the nursery, and parents of a baby enrolled at the centre. The parents have raised concerns about male educators changing their child s nappy as they have cultural practices that do not allow this practice to take place. Element 6.1, quality area 6 of the National Quality Standards (NQS) outlines the importance of relationships in regard to the parents, their child/children and educators. (Australian Children s Education Care Quality Authority [ACECQA], n.d.). Michael has considered the families cultural beliefs and has decided to remain respectful of their request, but is concerned about his rights concerning gender discrimination (Australian Human Rights Commission, n.d.). Michael has a right to retain his position in the nursery room regardless of the issue with nappy changes for this one child. To allow for minimal disruption and any further consequences, the situation is to be kept confidential. This is a short term resolution. The situation should be monitored and there may be long term issues if the parents fail to form a relationship with Michael. Therefore, this may result in Michael requesting a change of room in the future (Ethical group discussion, 2017). The resolution was reached through exploring the steps involved in the ERC. As a group, (each group member representing a person in the dilemma) we examined eight steps in the ERC. Throughout each phase, the child s primary best interests were considered by all parties. As the director progressed through the ERC, it became clear that both the parents and Michael have legal rights that need to be addressed. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. The Portrayal Of A Female Character From helpless damsel in distresses to powerful superheroines, female characters in comics have sure made it a long way. They have gone from underdeveloped supporting characters, such as the love interest or sidekick to someone who owns the spotlight with their combat skills and superpowers. This shift in portrayal is being acknowledged and praised by many comic book readers who have been hoping for a very long time that females will one day become more realistically portrayed. However, despite this, there are still a select few who choose to shift the focus away from the impact superheroines are having and instead focus on their flaws and what they still consider to be wrong with their portrayal. The main flaw being their appearance, specifically their unrealistic body types, readers and nonreaders of comics each have their own opinion on how a female character should be portrayed and they aren t afraid to fight for it. Jill Lepore, a Harvard professor and staff writer at The New Yorker, shares her opinions on the new Marvel comic entitled A Force in her controversial article published in The New Yorker. The article is renowned for calling out female superheroes on looking like porn stars while highlighting the fact that majority of them have large breasts and slim waists. • 19. Jackie Robinson Essays Jackie Robinson Jackie Robinson and integration are two phrases that cannot be segregated. Whether he liked it or not, he played the star role in the integration of society during the time that he played Major League Baseball with the Brooklyn Dodgers. His heroic journey that landed him in the Majors shows, amp;#8220;how integration has come to baseball and how it can be achieved in every corner of the land ; (Robinson 16). After World War Two, Brooklyn had transformed from a white middle class population to a mix of blacks, Latinos and Jews. amp;#8220;About half of Brooklyn amp;#8217;s population was Jewish; among the Dodger faithful, Jews were probably far more ready than any other major group, such as the Irish or the Italians, to identify with the fight against the Jim Crow embodied by Robinson ; (Rampersad 220 221). Obviously, the Jews related to the blacks amp;#8217; plight against society amp;#8217;s belittlement of them and the similar discriminations they both faced. Many of the Robinson amp;#8217;s friends were Jewish, perhaps because amp;#8220;the Robinsons found Jews far more ready than other whites to accept them socially ; (Rampersad 221). • 20. Communism And Communism Communism is a belief that there shall be greater equality and honesty will be granted in the world (Sheldon). There was a huge discrimination between those living in poverty versus those who are wealthy. In order to end this, people believed that a combat between the two sides was the only way to do so, causing lots of violence and injury. Despite this, the result of combat was social and economic justice to those who were not originally given it (Ali). Citizens living in poverty were often paid less money than the wealthy, even if they were doing the exact same task, so when equality was given to the working class, many people s lives were influenced positively. Communists believed it was their duty to whip out capitalism, and they did this by targeting the upper class citizens and formed communist blocs, who were the socialist states who practiced communism (Ali). There were four major ideas in communism. The first idea was that members believed in both the society and God. The members do not have the freedom to believe in whatever they would like, which the United States allowed. The second main idea is citizens economic state determine many other qualities which dictate your lifestyle. • 30. Difference Between Private And Private Sector Introduction : The most basic distinction between public and private organizations is that the political community own public agencies whereas ownership of private organizations belongs to entrepreneurs or shareholders. However, there are many other differences between public and private organizations. The funding for public agencies derives mostly from taxation, which contrasts with private agencies receiving funds predominately from consumers in the form of fees. In the public sector, organizations are largely controlled by political forces, which also results in the imposition of constraints by the political system. Subjection to constraint results in frequent changes in policies within public organizations. The owners and shareholders of private organizations have a direct incentive to monitor the behaviour of managers to promote better performance and financial gain. Summary The development of the private sector and its expansion in all spheres of society increasingly emphasizes the attempts to alleviate the differences between the public sector and the private sector. The collaboration of these two areas demonstrates their interdependence and their role in the overall functioning of the national economy and of society as a whole. The widespread use of private sector methods and theories on organizing the management process points to the fact that private sector ideas can be transferred and can be used in the field of civil service. When trying to put a bill into motion, his political comrades fail to support him and betray him in order to maintain their self interests. Both in films like these and in real life, virtue tends to become a thing of presentation in order to gain public approval and loyalty. A highly relevant instance of this is our current presidential election. Both of our candidates have their evident faults, but they have made appeals to the ethos and pathos of American citizens and tried to come off as virtuous in their own ways. • 41. Cultural Relativism Analysis Cultural moral relativism begins with the idea that morality is relative to culture and that a person s beliefs and activities are socially approved customs. Therefore, morality is a matter of actions that are only morally obligatory for a person if it is accepted by that person s culture. Ruth Benedict illustrates the fact that humans have a full range of customs that human behavior is capable of. The selection process is non rational and subconscious, similar to selection process for human speech. Using this analogy, Ruth Benedict was able to prove the cultural moral relativism by showing that nothing underlies customs, nothing by which can be evaluated. Therefore, cross culture judgement are not valid. The scenario states that a colleague ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... American socialism historically holds links with American mass labor. Socialism migrated to the American continent with the immigrants of the nineteenth century. With the progress of industrialization, immigrants both climbed the economic ladder and labored in the newly created factories and stores, a level of economic diversity the senator likely finds grossly unfair. * Due to deplorable labor conditions in certain industries, socialist voices gained an audience. • 47. My Personal Experiences In My Life Essay #1 Have you ever felt like life is difficult? Or not to your expectations? Chances are that we all have to deal with some difficult situations at times. When I was in Middle School I struggled to fit in with my classmates. I have always been quiet and just listened to their conversations. They always had so much to talk about and plans to see movies and other plans such as going to parties and other social gatherings. But I was never included or invited. I remember one day I came home and went straight to my room, laid down on my bed and cried. My mom came into my room and asked what was wrong. I told her what happened that made me feel very sad and cry. A girl in my group passed out invitations for her birthday party to everyone but me. My mother told me that if I had received the invitation for the birthday party I would probably be ignored and they would act like as if I wasn t there. And she also said this is a life lesson that I want you to remember, when you invite someone make sure you include the whole group or invite privately. Then she told her story about not having time to be with friends. She came to Santa Barbara from Mexico when she was seventeen years old with her older sister. A single mother of two daughters, one that was five years old and the other six and a half. And also my mother s youngest sister who was seven years old. POW 9 IMP3 Essay POW 9 Trig Ms. T Problem Statement: Create 2 formulas, one that will calculate the last number in terms of the first number and a constant increase in rate as well as the total amount of numbers. The second formula will add ass of the resulting numbers from the first formula together after the last number is calculated. Process: Kevin s Decisions: In order to put the problem into perspective, I first set up my own possible variables for the first platform height, the difference in height between each platform, and the total number of platforms. I came up with the numbers for each variable respectively: 6, 3, and 3. The first platform is 6 feet tall. There are 3 platforms. The distance between each platform is 3 feet. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To find out the total height we could add the height of all of the platforms. However, the total height can also be determined by a formula since the increase in height from platform to platform is the same. What I saw was that there are pairs within the heights of the first platform and last platform that when added result to the same number. For example: If there are 5 platforms in total, the first platform is 4 feet and the increase in height is 2 feet, the height of the platforms in order are: 4, 6, 8, 10, 12. The height of the last platform is 12 and the height of the first platform is 4. When we add 4 and 12 the result is 16 and divided by 2 is 8. The 2nd platform is 6 feet and the 4rth platform is 10 feet When added together and divided by 2 to get the average we get 8. The platform is the average number, which is 8. I saw this and put it into a formula. I took the height of the first platform and added it to the last platform, and substituted it for the variables f+l (where l=the height of the last platform). Then I took the total number of platforms and divided it by 2 to get the average, and multiplied it by the average of both platforms to get the total height of all of the platforms. This resulting number is the total length required in square feet of fabric to cover the fronts of the platforms. I got the formula (x/2) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
