The main technique that will be used during this project is electrospinning nanofibers. The goal of
electrospinning is to produce polymer fibers so that their diameters are much smaller, on a nano scale

well as less beading (Pham, 2006). Other parameters such as design of the different components of the
system play a role in the quality of fibers created. These include the characteristics and location of the
needle tip and jet collector. Our goal is to optimize all of the different parameters that are inputted into
the system so that the the presence of the beads will be minimized, so that the integrity of the scaffolds
are maintained.
