Assume that you are the newly appointed Chief Continuity Manager for the Berwick Hospital System.
Outlining the major risks associated with maintaining continuity of operations in the event of an
environmental catastrophe, and making an outline of the basics of a continuity plan to cope such a
scenario.
To: the Chief Operating Officer
Subject: Risks Associated with Environmental Catastrophe
Berwick Hospital System has identified some of the same vulnerabilities with hospitals in Louisiana
that experienced Katrina and Rita catastrophes. In order to minimize the damage we might have in the
event of environmental catastrophes, I summarized in this memo some potential risks of ... Show more

Also additional administrative staffs may be required for more smooth operations. Those in the
external community may also be at risks and need transportation and treatment at Berwick Hospital
Systems. In such events, transportation personnel, delivery personnel, and third party maintenance
personnel contacts should also be listed for emergency call.
To start our continuity operation plan, we can reach out to the emergency management agency for
assistance such as whether the hospital property is located in a flood plain, community s tornado
warning system, and seismic information of the area. Inside of the Berwick Hospital System, a team
needs to be built specific for continuity of operation plan. Team members involved, as needed,

potential candidates must be trained with a set of procedure code so at the time of emergency event
occurring, everything can be handled at the best possible manner. Potential candidate pool includes
but not limited to upper management, medical specialties, maintenance, engineering, security, public
information officers, community relations, information technology personnel, legal personnel, and
transportation personnel (FEMA, page 9).

Chinese Immigrants In Australia
Chinese people have been the majority of migrants in Australia. They have worked and have create
their communities in Australia. Nowadays, there are a number of Chinese town in Australia and also,
in Australian universities, many Chinese people are studying. In Australian history, it is well known
that many Chinese labours worked at gold mines. Also, under the White Australian Policy, they
experienced racial discriminations. However, there is still some unknown history, that those Chinese
migrants had experienced here in Australia. This essay will investigate historical facts, which Chinese
migrants experienced the nineteenth century. Firstly, this essay will introduce several causes, which
led the Chinese to go to Australia. Secondly, it will argue that the Chinese people were not welcomed
migrants. Thirdly, it will explain how the Chinese migrants maintained their ethnic identity within
Australia. Next, it will explain how the Chinese established their own community in order to maintain
their own identities. Finally, it will examine that the Chinese race relationship with the Australian can
be fit to the psychological theory of racism.
There were several reasons, that led Chinese people migrate to Australia and those reasons are largely
different from those of Afro American slaves. Between 1839 and 1842, Britain and China had Opium
War concerning disagreement of their trading. Ryan (1995, p.15) argues that after the war, Hong Kong
was dominated by Britain and people,

The Great Mahele
In 1848, An event called the Mahele changed the traditional Hawaiian system of land tenure from
communal use to private ownership (Kameeleihiwa 3). Events in the past of Hawaii, like the Mahele
of 1848, left a devastating mark in Hawaii s history; It helped eventually lead to the overthrow of the
monarch and still affects today s problems in Hawaii. To understand the native Hawaiian s perspective
of the Mahele, one must first learn the Hawaiian mentality. In Hawaiian culture it is believed that
Wakea (sky father) and Papahanaumoku (earth mother) are the parents of the Hawaiian islands. If
anything the Hawaiian islands belonged to Wakea and Papa. The islands, being born from an akua
(God) was therefore an akua itself. Land in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This also allowed the makaainana (commoners) to purchase kuleanas, or small lots in fee simple. The
Land Commission made awards to the makaainana and were called kuleana awards.
During this time if the makaainana wanted to legally own the land they had been occupying for
generations, they had to register claims. Only a few of the makaainana submitted their claims and
fewer were even awarded lands. Less than one percent of the land were awarded to the people whom
had actually worked the land. The total of the lands which were awarded to them was 28,658 acres
(Andrade 84). Char 4
Till today it is still a mystery as to why there were so little kuleana claims made and why there were
less awarded probably because the Land Commissions failed to keep any records of its deliberations.
Some question that maybe some of the makaainana wanted to keep depending on the Alii Nui and
continue to share a bond with someone who held more power (Kameeleihiwa 296). Most makaainana
even if they were awarded a kuleana claim had struggled to produced goods for sale without being
granted full access of the resources of their ahupuaa. The Mahele didn t give the alii the ability to
direct labor of the makaainana and that ability was then replaced by a system of taxation. Now it was
apparent that fee simple ownership was the rule (Kester 58).
Most of the kuleana awards were lands that used to be claimed by the Moi, Alii Nui, and konohiki

A Report On Mobile Technology
Mobility is no longer optional in today s world; most enterprises are adopting mobile first strategies to
provide real time information and interactivity to consumers or employees on the go. Enterprise
mobility has seen increased popularity in the last few years, bringing in with it the growing trend of
Bring your own device (BYOD). While BYOD has a host of merits like increased productivity, better
connectivity and less expenditure for enterprises, but there are security risks involved. This is where
mobile management comes into the picture. It is generally an administrative system and service that is
used to encrypt and lock the device, and enforce miscellaneous other BYOD policies. Schneider
Electric BYOD policy is implemented through Airwatch Mobile Device Management (MDM).
Although BYOD adoption is continuously increasing, only 1 percent of Schneider Electric employees
have opted for BYOD enrollment on their personal mobile devices until now. The major factors
contributing to low adoption of BYOD are the concerns and uncertainties around user activity
tracking, logging and potential loss or leakage of personal data. Moreover, the current BYOD
deployment does not support a large variety of popular mobile devices. Due to this, the adoption and
usage of mobile applications via the Internal App Store is also quite low. However, the current BYOD
program is geared towards addressing the enterprise data security concerns, which obviously has
merits, and cannot be overlooked

Persuasive Speech Outline On Mental Illness
Kaylee Gorbet Persuasive Speech Preparation Outline Destigmatizing Mental Illness Specific
Purpose: Persuade my audience to take steps to realize the truth behind mental illnesses instead of
listening to the stigmas. Central Idea: I am going to be talking about the stigmas associated with
mental illness and what we can do to decrease this stigma. Introduction I. There is an illness that is
different from any other illness or disease that we know of. This illness has few, if any, outward
physical symptoms. Most of the time, we cannot tell that a person has this illness just by looking at
them. The illness I am talking about is mental illness; I am able to say that I have been affected by my
father s mental illnesses. II. Today, I am going to be talking to you about the stigmas associated with
mental illness and what we can do to decrease this stigma. III. Depression, generalized anxiety
disorder, eating disorders, etc are more common than one might realize, but they often go unnoticed
because of these stigmas. First, I will define mental illness and give you some statistics about mental
illness. Second, I will define stigma and tell you about the ways mentally ill people have been
stigmatized both in the past and today and why. Finally, I will tell you about some laws that attempt to
decrease stigma in the work place and offer suggestions as to how to further decrease stigma.
Transition: In order to understand what mental illness is, it is helpful to have an operational definition
of the term. Body I. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) states that mental illnesses can
affect persons of any age, race, religion or income and defines mental illness as a medical condition
that disrupts a person s thinking, feeling, mood, ability to relate to others and daily functioning... that
often result in a diminished capacity for coping with the ordinary demands of life. a. Using this
definition, we can conclude that mental illness is non discriminatory and is a legitimate condition that
affects a person s ability to function in their day to day life. b. The statistics on mental illness are
surprising. NAMI s website gives the following statistics on reported mental illness. Bipolar disorder
or manic

The Common Pattern Of Alternating Extinctions And Radiations
Extinctions and Radiations

Roxanne Fortune
South University
Submitted: November, 16th, 2016
The common pattern of alternating extinctions and radiations has been done through biodiversity
studies which studies the different organisms of species living on earth and where they live. In Stilwell
(2003) journal, Palaeocene faunas are characterized by a perceived rapid evolutionary radiation
involving many new taxa at both genus and species level. Stilwell stated Molluscs living at the
beginning of tertiary period after the K T extinction event was the beginning of modern fauna. There
was research that saw the decimation of scores of marine organisms. Mollusc groups were mentioned
(e.g. Ammonites, Belemnites Rudistid and Trigoniid Bivalves), (Stilwell, 2003).
In Stilwell s research journal, Austral Palaeocene Molluscs focuses on the composition of faunas and
patterns of evolution, it shows diversity and riches. The Southern Hemisphere show the break up of
Supercontinent Gondwana and also changes in oceanic circulation and climate. In the northern
Hemisphere shows major diversity changes in the Marine Realm.
In a journal written by Racki, it was mentioned, with the enlargement and nitrification most likely will
lead to the loss of deep water niches and step by step siliceous faunas go through severe non selective
losses during the end Permian mass extinction, (Racki, 1999). All because of sudden volcanic winter

The clinic has been very successful in managing patients IBD symptoms in a timely manner while
preventing unnecessary emergency department visits, and alleviating anxiety and depression
associated with the unpredictable flares, ineffective pharmacological management and potential
development of negative self image. Kurina, Goldacre and Gill (2001) stated that over 60 percent of
the studied population with IBD had anxiety and/or depression. Poor symptom management,
ineffective coping mechanisms, lack of support, and negate self imaging, are the main risk factors
associated with the anxiety in the population with IBD (Bannaga Selinger, 2015). Melissa concurred
with the above statement and indicated that the interprofessional collaborative treatment approach at
the clinic offers short wait times, multidimensional support and long term follow up for the patients.
She also stated that her role includes all categories of core competencies of an NP (Canadian Nurses
Association [CNA], 2010; Wilson, 2016). The NP assesses patients at the clinic, based on the
laboratory work and biopsies taken during a colonoscopy, she confirms whether the patient has IBD

Modeling Of Forecasting Inflation On Nepal Essay
CHAPTER FOUR
MODELING OF FORECASTING INFLATION IN NEPAL
4.1Introduction
Inflation is a burning economic problem in the developing countries like Nepal that brings adverse
effects like loss of purchasing power of national currency, leading to the aggravation of social
conditions and living standards. This also leads to uncertainty making domestic and foreign investors
reluctant to invest in the economy. Additionally, inflation broadens the country s terms of trade
causing domestic goods and services more expensive in the market. That is why; the monetary
authority of every economy should have the objective of maintaining stable price.
Inflation forecasting plays a central role in monetary policy formulation. Recent international
empirical evidence suggests that with the decline in inflation of recent years, a fairly widespread
phenomenon, the combined dynamics of this variable and its potential predictors, such as money or
different measures of the output gap, has changed, and inflation has become more unpredictable.
Univariate models tend to show a better forecasting capacity than those based on various inflation
theories, such as the Phillips curve. Traditionally, in industrialized countries the Phillips curve has
played a predominant role in inflation forecasting, and according to Stock and Watson (1999),
Atkenson and Ohanian (2001) and Canova, (2002), it would seem to perform better in terms of
forecasting error than other alternative models. In recent years there have

Prevention And Prevention Of Infectious Diseases
Product Overview
Washing your hands with soap and water is one of the most important things you can do to prevent the
risk of spreading diseases. Germs that cause colds, eye infections, and other illnesses can spread to the
hands by sneezing, coughing, or rubbing the eyes and then can be transferred to other family members
or friends ( CDC, n.d.). To kill infection causing germs, the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention recommends people wash for 15 to 20 seconds with soap, and water. However, in today s
fast paced environment, little things such as sufficient hygiene can be easily overlooked.
The issue that needs to be addressed, is how can we promote good hand washing habits efficiently, to
prevent the spread of infectious diseases. For this reason, Kohler will be introducing the Hygieia . The
Hygieia is a hands free motion detecting sink that dispenses water, and soap simultaneously. Each
year, foodborne diseases contribute to approximately 76 million illnesses ( What Germs, 2013).
Improvement in handwashing practices amongst food workers is crucial to reducing the incidence of
foodborne illnesses ( What Germs, 2013).
The Hygieia will be first to market of its kind with the dual action soap, and water dispenser feature.
This current solution has not been made available, which can lead to a new generation of faucets. With
the same benefit as other sensor faucets, the new Hygieia will conserve up to 70% of water per use (
Benefits, n.d.).

The International Table Tennis Federation
Table tennis is characterized by numerous rules that govern how the game should be played. The game
is mainly characterized by exceptionally fast reactions thereby making rules quite necessary. Players
must allow the ball to bounce once on their side of the court before returning it to the opposite end.
The initial serve is, however, exempted from this requirement. Points are scored if a team fails to keep
the ball in play. The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) instituted some key changes in the
rules of the game following the 2000 Olympics games, which were held in Sidney, Australia. The
amendments were mainly aimed at enhancing the game s viability as a spectator sport that could be
televised. Among the new changes was the increasing of the ball s diameter to 40 millimeters. Soon
thereafter, the ITTF changed the game s scoring system from 21 point to 11 point system
(International Table Tennis Federation, 2014). The serve rotation was also brought down from five
points to two. Soon thereafter, the global federation of the game changed the rules and effectively
prohibited players from hiding balls during service. In keeping with the sport s spirit of fairness, the
rules cushions opponents from being caught by surprise. Rules require that the ball must be tossed a
minimum of 16 centimeters in the air before being served. There are rules governing the course of
events during a match including which team takes the first serve. In order to highlight the numerous

Women s contributions are equally important for the development of the society. Similarly, in the book

women from a Lakota tribe and what their gender role contributes to the tribe and to their families and

important part of Lakota culture. I would extend my knowledge on this chapter and focus on the
particular roles Lakota s women had to accomplish and what was expected of them. I consider
grandmothers and medicine women to be vital for the Lakota culture and their traditions. In how they

Flowers And The Symbol Of Flowers
A symbol of purity, innocence or life, when connected to the motivation of a character, flowers have
the ability to demonstrate a character s emotions and behaviors in a way that describing a character s
physical and emotional appearance cannot. Vibrant flowers symbolize aspiration and determination
while a wilted or destroyed flower represents a somber and heartbroken attitude toward life. The motif
of the flowers in Paul s Case and The Chrysanthemums represent the progression of the characters
hope and dreams.
In the opening scene of Paul s Case, the author notes the vibrant, red carnation that Paul wears to his
disciplinary meeting and consequently the teacher s distaste of what they believe the flower
symbolizes referring to it as a, scandalous red carnation and how, his whole attitude was symbolized
by...his flippantly red carnation flower (Cather 114). A defiant student, shown by his disrespect toward
his teachers, Paul seems unfazed to the fact that he is in a disciplinary meeting choosing to act
indifferent to what his teachers say about him. He is arrogant consequently holding himself to a higher
status than his teachers thus causing him to feel entitled. The red carnation symbolizes his idealistic

Culture Jamming And Parody Advertisement
Out of all the topics discussed this week, culture jamming is one that certainly piqued my interest.
Primarily, culture jamming is defined as a tactic used by social activists to change the public s point of
view and bring attention to the negative aspects of certain products. This communication tool achieves
its goal by making parodies of advertisements of popular brands, ranging from stores, fast food chains,
and even beverages. For example, a parody ad for Pepsi reads Corn Syrup, where the logo of Pepsi is
used as the letter o. Another example is of McDonald s, where the logo of McDonald s, M, is inverted
to a W, and reads I m gainin it. Both of these parodies reflect the product s unhealthy components.

Murray Bowen Family Systems Theory
Introduction Murray Bowen s Family Systems Theory plays a key role in the field of child life. Bowen
viewed families as an emotional system, where each member is intensely connected to the other
members. In order to analyses families and human behavior, Bowen used a set of concepts. These
concepts became part of his family systems theory that we use today. Bowens family systems theory is
made up of a total of eight concepts. These concepts include Triangles, Differentiation of self, Nuclear
Family Emotional Process, Family Projection Process, Multigenerational Transmission Process,
Emotional Cutoff, Sibling Position, and Societal Emotional Process. Using these eight concepts,

Some of these goals include Facilitating awareness of how emotional systems function (Brown, 1990).
This is important because it helps clients, families, and children learn about emotional systems work
and function. In addition, another goal is to increase the level of differentiation, the ability to be in
emotional contact with others yet still autonomous in one s own emotional functioning is the essence
of the concept of differentiation (Kerr Bowen. 1988). In other words, being an emotional support
system for family members, but remaining distant with one s own emotions.
As mentioned above, Bowens family system theory is made up of 8 concepts, these concepts are (1)
Emotional Fusion, (2) Differentiation of self, (3) Triangles, (4) Nuclear family emotional system, (5)
Family projection process, (6) Emotional cutoff, (7) Multi generation transmission process, and (8)
Sibling possession. The first concept that helps make up Bowen s family systems theory is Emotional
fusion or lack of differentiation. Emotional fusion is where individual choices are set aside in the
service of achieving harmony within the system (Brown, 1990). According to Brown, Emotional
Fusion can occur in one of two ways, the first can be when an individual feels 100 percent responsible
for others emotions and actions, and the other being a total emotional cutoff from the tension or
feelings within a

character, just as an integer is a whole number with no fractions. Physical objects can display integrity,
too if you re going over a rickety old bridge that sways in the wind, you might question its structural
integrity. Integrity is a combination of the words, integritas (in teg ri tas) and integer (in te ger). It
refers to the putting on of armor, of building a completeness.

After He was baptized, He went into the wilderness to fast for forty days and nights, during which

wholly man and wholly God at the same time, and He tempted in every way we are, yet he never

showing a pattern of good works. As sinful human beings, our integrity is flawed, but Jesus integrity is
perfect. When we are in Christ, we partake of His divine nature, having been given new natures in
Christ, and that new nature is one of integrity because it is His nature. In the Bible it says For we do

The Role Of The Female Narrator In Humphry Clinker
The novel Humphry Clinker is written almost exclusively through one sided letters of correspondence.
A majority of the letters presented in this novel are written by the two male narrators of the story,
leaving the rest of the space for the female narrators. While the male narrators of Jery Melford and
Matthew Bramble are used to offer most of the detail to the novel, the female narrators help to offer
portions of substance. The narrators of Tabitha Bramble, Lydia Melford, and Winifred Jenkins are
used to offer a deeper analysis and differing perspective of the events that take place, in turn
displaying the essence of the story. Each of the narrators have their own individual purpose in the
story. When the novel begins, Tabitha Bramble s letter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lydia often says things that speak about her sex and how she sees them to act. One instance where
Lydia does this is when she says I have seen enough to believe, that our sex in general make it their
business to ensnare others (289). Not only is Lydia basically saying that all women are nosy
busybodies, but that they use that quality to catch others whether it be in a lie or in marriage. The fact
that Lydia says things like this is interesting because while her character is saying it, Smollett is the
one writing it. With this single line he makes women out to be sneaky and conniving creatures, and
through this, wholly disrespectable. Now, Lydia isn t portrayed to be this way, so it brings up not only
the question of class but the question of education as being a factor. Lydia is a high classed woman
with an education, so she is made to be better than Tabitha who is of the same class, however with less
education. Therefore, it implies that class isn t a factor in how women act, but their amount of
education. Something else Smollett expresses is that women are not strong willed and easy to sway.
After Humphry apologizes in nicer clothing for accidentally exposing his bare bottom to Tabitha, Jery
observes this compliment and humiliation had some effect upon Tabby (97). Tabitha is so easily
swayed by a man of good appearance that she is made out to be simple minded. In the end of the

Stress Factors
Stress can be defined as the feeling felt in time of difficulty, fear and when facing challenging
situations. Stress is a feeling in which a person feels like they cannot cope with a certain situation.
Stress comes in many forms and may be physical, psychological or emotional. Factors that cause
stress are known as stressors.
Events that occur in a person s life may cause feelings of stress, which may consist of:
Large changes
Overwhelming responsibility
Lack of change in one s life
Facing overwhelming pressure.
Stress may not only be caused by a single event but it may be caused by an accumulation of more
minor challenges which makes it more difficult to pin point what is actually causing a person stress.
As a learner a clear example of a stressor would be your Grade 12 year and the demands it places on
you.

Relax
Listen to music and practise some meditation to calm yourself and release tension that has been built
up in the body. This will help to better control stress and help find peace with yourself.
In matric there is a lot of work load and thus a student is stressed. In order for you to limit this stress
one should ensure they make or compile a planner in which they allocate days to do a certain piece of
work. If I am too lazy to make a planner I will have to do work such as projects days in advance
instead of leaving them to the last minute which will minimise stress and maximise time.
Also give yourself time to unwind whether it s hanging out with family or playing some sports.
Activities will help alleviate stress of matric and will also give the mind time to relax. By doing other
activities other than stressful matric work stress levels are given a chance to decrease and thus one will
have a more relaxed and calm approach when doing the stressful things.
Also I will ensure I apply time management to all activities I do for school. It is proven that the early
you begin your work the less stressful it is to do

Billy Elliot Diversity
Billy Elliot, directed by Stephen Daldry, is a coming of age film, filmed in the year 2000. It was set in
the year 1984. The film was set in the North of England, in a village called Everington. The director
made sure that the movie did not go off course and stayed relevant to the time period of the 1980s. I
found that the language presented in the film, was relevant to the time period and the labeling or
stereotyping used was very appropriate to the 1980s period. This was because people were only
coming to terms with the change and the diversity of men being gay or females being lesbian. The
four aspects covered in this essay will be on, Billy Elliot and his relationship with his father. The
relationship between Billy Elliot and Mrs. Wilkinson. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the movie, Billy was not seen as a normal eleven year old boy just because he enjoyed ballet. In the
1980 s gender diversity was not accepted as much as it is now. When he did ballet, Billy s class was
full of female students which were seen as normal and boys were not expected to do any female
activities. Billy did not mind joining the class and he actually enjoyed it. Billy was not very good at
dancing but he eventually found a passion and a fire within him to want to do ballet. One of the
problems that Billy faced was to actually learn how to dance. His body had never had to have been
controlled and every movement in ballet was controlled and precise. Another obstacle was that he had
to deal with the abuse and disgrace from Jackie and Tony who were worried that Billy would have
been seen as a poof . Jackie and Tony were disgusted when they heard Billy wanted to become a
professional ballet dancer. This made Billy more determined to achieve his dream, not just to prove
his family wrong, but other people who thought that boys shouldn t dance. Billy wanted it so much
that he would practice in secret. The biggest goal was that he had to prove not just to himself but also
to Mrs. Wilkinson that he had the passion to make ballet a lifetime career and the willingness to learn

Public Ownership Of Handguns Should Be Banned
AFFIRMATIVE CASE Resolved: In the United States, private ownership of handguns ought to be
banned. I AFFIRM the resolution that In the United States, private ownership of handguns ought to be
banned. For clarification of today s round, I offer the following definitions: Private Ownership
According to Collins Dictionary, private ownership is the fact of being owned by a private individual
or organization, rather than by the state or a public body. Banned Also, according to Collins
Dictionary, Banned means to prohibit, officially, from action, display, entrance, sale, etc; to forbid. My
value today is UTILITARIANISM. According to Oxford Dictionaries, Utilitarianism is defined as the
doctrine that actions are right if they are useful or for the benefit of a majority. Utilitarianism ties in
accordingly with today s debate because when you look at the majority, in a utilitarianism theory, you
re asking yourself and the people that consist of the majority, What will bring the greatest amount of
happiness to the greatest amount of people? And the answer to the question is simple. If you ban the
object possessed to kill people, it is no longer a threat to the majority and the focal point of the
greatest happiness is suddenly made distinctly clear. My criterion today is SOCIAL CONTRACT.
Social Contract is the agreement the individual makes with the government. In the agreement it is
stated, that individual will allow his or her rights to be limited or altered

The Five Pillar Of Islam
The pilgrimage to Mecca, which is the fifth Pillar of Islam, is known as hajj. The Five Pillars of Islam
are the foundation of the entire religion, and dictate the actions of every Muslim in both a private and
public manner (Western Traditions 244). The first Pillar is shahadah: to declare, or bear witness, that
there is no god except God (Allah), and that Muhammad is the Messenger of God (Western Traditions
244). The second Pillar is salat: to establish regular worship (Western Traditions 244) also known as
prayer which must occur five times a day. The third Pillar is almsgiving: which requires paying the

Peer notes that today, Mecca is a city of more than one and a half million people (Peer The Modern
Mecca), and that every year during hajj between two to three million pilgrims flood into Mecca as
well. As we can imagine, this number is significantly larger than it would have been when the tradition
of the pilgrimage was formed, and therefor the logistics of completing specific rituals becomes
challenging. One example of this is seen in the desire to kiss the stone that was part of Abraham s Ka
ba, something that Muhammad had done on his own hajj (Peer The Modern Mecca). Unfortunately,
because of the immense number of pilgrims trying to kiss the stone, it is impossible for everyone to
even come close to accomplishing this. Many Pilgrims raised smart phones above their heads to
record the moment (Peer The Modern Mecca), as physical contact was nearly impossible, highlighting
the ways in which hajj has been modernized yet remains so important. Peer himself was unable to kiss
the stone, but feels comfort in knowing that this is a common reality for most pilgrims, including
Malcolm X, who also was not able to reach the stone during his pilgrimage (Peer The Modern Mecca).
Also, Islam is very aware that not every Muslim will be able to complete their hajj so alternate options
are given for those who may not be able to attend

The Power of Fear in Things Fall Apart Essays
The Power of Fear in Things Fall Apart In the novel Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe, the theme
of the power of fear is presented throughout the whole book and is mainly expressed in the main
character, Okonkwo. Okonkwo strives all of his life to become a stronger, more powerful, and a
successful individual. He wants to do this because his father was a slack and lazy person who lived
most of his life in debt and had no titles to his name. People often looked at his father as a women
figure for the few achievements he redeemed. Okonkwo never wanted to be like his father and it
eventually got to the point where he became fearful of becoming like him. Achebe uses the power of

For all of his desire to be strong, Okonkwo is caught up by the constant fear of being perceived as
weak. He is afraid of failure and afraid of being considered weak. This fear drives him to do whatever
he can to not become a failure like his father which ironically contributes to his death. While
Okonkwo was a strong and important figure in his tribe, he had to keep his reputation that way by
making some hard decisions. One of them was when he had to kill Ikemefuna, a young boy from the
neighboring tribe. Okonkwo started accepting the decision to kill Ikemefuna because he started to call
Okonkwo father. He had to keep his own valor intact and kill the boy to prevent himself from showing
any weakness, but deep down, Okonkwo was really upset because of what he did which was ironic,
When did you become a shivering old woman, Okonkwo asked himself, you, who are known in all the
nine villages for your valor in war? How can a man who has killed five men in battle fall to pieces
because he has added a boy to their number? Okonkwo, you have become a woman indeed. (Achebe
65). He continued to roll downhill when the white man comes to try and convert Okonkwo s tribe.
Okonkwo responds by killing one of the messengers that were sent. This cause Okonkwo s own tribe
to question his actions. Okonkwo stood looking at the dead man. He knew that Umuofia would not go
to war. He knew because they had let the other messengers escape.

My Writing Skills Has Effectively Improved
I remember when I first came to the Wilkes University, one of my edifier (?) (Friend, teacher, mother)

beginning of my classes I was very nervous about how to write an essay. However, I believe my
writing skills has effectively improved. To be honest, English 101 wasn t an easy class for me in the
beginning. College writing is entirely different from high school writing. I always have trouble with
grammar when I write English essays, and it s harder for me to learn and improve my skills in a short
amount of time.
I m a young woman who transferred from China to America and I m not that familiar with how to
utilize English compared to a young woman who s who is from the United States of America. That has
never stopped me from trying and I will never give up. I like challenges and difficult tasks, it tests my
will and helps to achieve the goal I have set for myself. During this sixteenth week, my writing skill
improved dramatically compared to the beginning of the semester. That may not be noticeable to
others, but to me the improvement in my writing skill is very evident.
This course has helped me to understand the difference between college and high school writing.

Arcadia Analysis
Introduction
Arcadia is an ancient play by Tom Stoppard regarding a distinct relationship between order and
disorder, past and present, certainty and uncertainty. This play has in the past been praised by critics as
the finest play with significant contemporary playwrights with regards to English language. Tom
Stoppard has also been recognized as the greatest living playwright in English language theater with
timely jumping masterpieces. His elegance allows his forging towards a unique comedy of romance,
sex, wit, scientific theory and poetry, and further introduces active characters whose passion for life
has been noted to intersect across may other centuries. The play is directed by Artistic Director by
name Michael Halberstam. Moreover, Arcadia has for a long time served as an ideal pioneer
production at a performance located in the Writers Theatre s new home, specifically the UT Center for
Performing Arts Centre theatre on 11th of March back in 2017, at 7:30 PM.
There are three main themes depicted in the Arcadia play, among them; Emotion versus Intellect.
Arcadia outlines two sorts of knowledge, the academic knowledge and the sex based knowledge,
which have been displayed as in constant conflict in the entire text. The intellectual sex justification
and marriage proposition have been termed as the main factors that create resolution between the
existing forces. The initial pages of the play put focus on the theme of love verses intellect. Thomasina

Media and body image
How media and body image effects self esteem
To lack self esteem means to lack confidence in yourself, essentially, its how you see your body, not
only when you look in a mirror but the mental image of how you perceive your body. With a damaged
self esteem an individual can feel worthless. Media can seriously damage a young teenagers self
esteem with the way it portrays the female body. According to thinspiration alludes to symbolism
normally shared via web based networking media that urges a client to be thin. It is a self perception
that is perfect to numerous around the globe, particularly by models in media. Models are advertised
so falsely that young girls may begin to wonder if there is something wrong with them or why they
don t look like what people perceive as beautiful. The way they view their body is affected negatively
as a result. This then leads to feeling overwhelmed and low. Threads on fat shaming or discussions
about ideal body weight can be found all over social media lowering the self esteem of venerable
teenagers.. Thousands of images with hashtags of thinspiration and bonespiration (which just happens

compared to students with disabilities attempting to complete a four year degree (Harvey 4). Even
though these students with learning disabilities want to fit in and go to a four year university, it is a

way that it should be. A vocational school provides more hands on training for a specific skill or trade

Power And Corruption In Macbeth
Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. (John Dalberg Acton) Power always
leads to corruption, especially in the story of Macbeth. The main character, Macbeth, becomes more
and more corrupt as the story continues. He gets his first taste of power when he becomes The Thane
of Cawdor, he then begins murdering to become king, and finally begins murdering people so he can
keep his power. Macbeth has very little power at the beginning of the story. He is basically a soldier
that protects the king during the war. Macbeth hated having such a small amount of power and he
began to desire more. Macbeth then encounters the three witches that tell him all about the power that
he is going to gain. First they speak of him becoming the Thane of Cawdor, and then the king. Hearing
all this makes Macbeth excited yet he does not believe it to be possible that he will acquire so much
power. Then, Ross and Angus arrive with news from the king that verifies what the witches said about
him becoming Thane of Cawdor. This makes Macbeth think that what the witches said will come true

The Role Of Celebrities And Youth Exist
The idea of having a role model is something society loves to champion. Kids should have role
models, and adults should strive to be worthy of such a duty. Kids that don t grow up with strong role
models and mentors are almost expected to fail; without footsteps to follow exactly, kids are incapable
of, or at least unlikely to, achieve anything worth of substance. In the same breath, people advocating
the importance of role models condemn the expansion of celebrity in today s society, claiming that
they influence youth poorly and don t set a good example for younger generations. But celebrities are
the very people that young children are most likely to use as role models. So, how and why does this
relationship between celebrities and youth exist? The reality of the world we live in is that kids love
celebrities. The rich and famous are of a similar status of an older sibling s friends: just out of reach,
and untouchably cool. The mystique of celebrities is part of the allure, but with the media ever
expanding, kids are lured even further in by the more intimate details available thanks to social media.
Kids don t just love celebrities, celebrities love kids. That is, when the kids are making the celebrities
money. Whether donning their clothing line, buying their concert tickets, or adding their shoes to
Christmas lists, kids are a revenue stream for celebrities. The famed have no problem with children

Negative Analysis Of Television Commercials
People can relate to their favorite television shows, but can they also connect with the commercials
that inevitably interrupt their programs? Nowadays, most people would answer no by skipping these
advertisements through digital video recorders or on demand and streaming services. However,
commercials continue to generate an abundance of revenue for advertising agencies. The most popular
television ads target specific audiences, and cable is the most appropriate platform. Advertising
agencies strategically place commercials on cable networks that target groups that many viewers may
consider underrepresented on television. Prominent examples include commercials on Nickelodeon
that target children, ads on TV One that attract African Americans, and plugs on COZI TV that draw
older adult viewers. Cable television is an ideal platform for personalized advertisements that target
specific groups of viewers. Every cable network has almost always been personalized; for instance,
certain channels target sports fanatics (i.e. ESPN, Golf Channel, NBC Sports Network, etc.), while
others attract music lovers (i.e. MTV, VH1, etc.). Broadcast networks live up to their name in that
their audiences are extremely wide and consist of all kinds of races, genders, and socioeconomic
statuses. Northern Arizona University communications professor Norman J. Medoff and University of
Tennessee Knoxville journalism professor Barbara Kaye elaborate on the influence of the diversity of
cable networks

Analysis Of Electrospinning Nannofibers
The main technique that will be used during this project is electrospinning nanofibers. The goal of
electrospinning is to produce polymer fibers so that their diameters are much smaller, on a nano scale
size. Electrospinning fibers is a relatively cost effective and simple set up (Pham, 2006) as shown in
Figure 1.
Figure 1: Shows an example set up that contains a syringe, a collector and designates the controlled
variables of applied voltage (V), distance between the tip and the collector, and the flow rate/charge
density, Q (Pham, 2006).
As the name and figure implies, the polymers are exposed to conditions in which charge and voltage
are applied that propel the fiber from the tip and Taylor cone to the collector in a circular motion. ...

This input is relevant as it is the driver for the jet propulsion system that creates the fibers. Voltage and
the presence of beads has been found to have a proportional relationship in the sense that if the voltage
applied to the system is increased, there is an increase in the presence of beads (Pham, 2006). The
mechanics that cause this relationship is when the voltage is altered, the jet generated from the tip has
a change in volume that causes a change in the of the Taylor cone (Pham, 2006). Recall that the Taylor
cone is the result of the difference of charges between the applied electric field charge and the surface
charges that causes the shape of the fluid to become a cone as seen in Fig. 2 (Garg, 2011).
Furthermore, the flow of the jet is important so that the jet has the proper amount of time to travel
from the tip to the collector. Studies have found that a slower flow generates thinner diameter fiber as
well as less beading (Pham, 2006). Other parameters such as design of the different components of the
system play a role in the quality of fibers created. These include the characteristics and location of the
needle tip and jet collector. Our goal is to optimize all of the different parameters that are inputted into
the system so that the the presence of the beads will be minimized, so that the integrity of the scaffolds
are maintained.
Specific Aims 1: Assessing scaffold sufficiency for nerve

is a description of lower result in performance of motor skill in situations of high pressure than

There are two main approaches to answer this question. First one is distraction theories, which suggest
that choking under pressure in stressing situation is a result of distraction on irrelevant thoughts such

be saved. Hughes became more and more impatient and extremely agitated. At the same time he must
have been very curious as to why all the others were going up to the altar.
During childhood we begin to learn the meaning of integrity. Having patiently awaited Jesus?
appearance for what must have seemed an interminable amount of time, the pressure on Hughes to get

together into a single all embracing perception, gives the reader the illusion that he, too can actually
sense the events being described in the tale ( Sight, Sound, and Sensation ). Human beings will often
only believe in what is tangible. We become oblivious to the ability to ... Show more content on

Oedipus asked Teiresias for help in finding the murderer of the previous king, King Laius. Teiresias is
highly respected throughout the city of Thebes, which is evident when he is introduced. His
introduction is the holy prophet in whom, alone of all men, truth was born. (Oedipus Rex).Teiresias is
very reluctant to speak the truth to Oedipus. Teiresias speaks honestly to Oedipus, but he is shunned
with the news he brings. Teiresias motives are attacked by Oedipus. Oedipus believes that Teiresias is
in cahoots with Kreon and that he is trying to help him become the king of Thebes. The citizens do not
side with the once beloved blind prophet. They will not agree with him because, he has not brought
forth any proof that this prophecy is true. Teiresias, once highly respected, is now hated by both
Oedipus and the citizens of

In Hawaiian culture it is believed that Wakea (sky father) and Papahanaumoku (earth mother) are the parents of the Hawaiian islands. If anything the Hawaiian islands belonged to Wakea and Papa. Only a few of the makaainana submitted their claims and fewer were even awarded lands. Less than one percent of the land were awarded to the people whom had actually worked the land. The total of the lands which were awarded to them was 28,658 acres (Andrade 84). Most makaainana even if they were awarded a kuleana claim had struggled to produced goods for sale without being granted full access of the resources of their ahupuaa. • 5. A Report On Mobile Technology Mobility is no longer optional in today s world; most enterprises are adopting mobile first strategies to provide real time information and interactivity to consumers or employees on the go. Enterprise mobility has seen increased popularity in the last few years, bringing in with it the growing trend of Bring your own device (BYOD). While BYOD has a host of merits like increased productivity, better connectivity and less expenditure for enterprises, but there are security risks involved. This is where mobile management comes into the picture. It is generally an administrative system and service that is used to encrypt and lock the device, and enforce miscellaneous other BYOD policies. Schneider Electric BYOD policy is implemented through Airwatch Mobile Device Management (MDM). Although BYOD adoption is continuously increasing, only 1 percent of Schneider Electric employees have opted for BYOD enrollment on their personal mobile devices until now. The major factors contributing to low adoption of BYOD are the concerns and uncertainties around user activity tracking, logging and potential loss or leakage of personal data. Moreover, the current BYOD deployment does not support a large variety of popular mobile devices. Due to this, the adoption and usage of mobile applications via the Internal App Store is also quite low. However, the current BYOD program is geared towards addressing the enterprise data security concerns, which obviously has merits, and cannot be overlooked ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Common Pattern Of Alternating Extinctions And Radiations Extinctions and Radiations W 1, A 3 Bio 1021 By Roxanne Fortune South University Submitted: November, 16th, 2016 The common pattern of alternating extinctions and radiations has been done through biodiversity studies which studies the different organisms of species living on earth and where they live. In Stilwell (2003) journal, Palaeocene faunas are characterized by a perceived rapid evolutionary radiation involving many new taxa at both genus and species level. Stilwell stated Molluscs living at the beginning of tertiary period after the K T extinction event was the beginning of modern fauna. There was research that saw the decimation of scores of marine organisms. Mollusc groups were mentioned (e.g. Ammonites, Belemnites Rudistid and Trigoniid Bivalves), (Stilwell, 2003). In Stilwell s research journal, Austral Palaeocene Molluscs focuses on the composition of faunas and patterns of evolution, it shows diversity and riches. The Southern Hemisphere show the break up of Supercontinent Gondwana and also changes in oceanic circulation and climate. In the northern Hemisphere shows major diversity changes in the Marine Realm. In a journal written by Racki, it was mentioned, with the enlargement and nitrification most likely will lead to the loss of deep water niches and step by step siliceous faunas go through severe non selective losses during the end Permian mass extinction, (Racki, 1999). Poor symptom management, ineffective coping mechanisms, lack of support, and negate self imaging, are the main risk factors associated with the anxiety in the population with IBD (Bannaga Selinger, 2015). • 10. Modeling Of Forecasting Inflation On Nepal Essay CHAPTER FOUR MODELING OF FORECASTING INFLATION IN NEPAL 4.1Introduction Inflation is a burning economic problem in the developing countries like Nepal that brings adverse effects like loss of purchasing power of national currency, leading to the aggravation of social conditions and living standards. This also leads to uncertainty making domestic and foreign investors reluctant to invest in the economy. Additionally, inflation broadens the country s terms of trade causing domestic goods and services more expensive in the market. That is why; the monetary authority of every economy should have the objective of maintaining stable price. Inflation forecasting plays a central role in monetary policy formulation. Recent international empirical evidence suggests that with the decline in inflation of recent years, a fairly widespread phenomenon, the combined dynamics of this variable and its potential predictors, such as money or different measures of the output gap, has changed, and inflation has become more unpredictable. Univariate models tend to show a better forecasting capacity than those based on various inflation theories, such as the Phillips curve. Traditionally, in industrialized countries the Phillips curve has played a predominant role in inflation forecasting, and according to Stock and Watson (1999), Atkenson and Ohanian (2001) and Canova, (2002), it would seem to perform better in terms of forecasting error than other alternative models. • 11. Prevention And Prevention Of Infectious Diseases Product Overview Washing your hands with soap and water is one of the most important things you can do to prevent the risk of spreading diseases. Germs that cause colds, eye infections, and other illnesses can spread to the hands by sneezing, coughing, or rubbing the eyes and then can be transferred to other family members or friends ( CDC, n.d.). To kill infection causing germs, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends people wash for 15 to 20 seconds with soap, and water. However, in today s fast paced environment, little things such as sufficient hygiene can be easily overlooked. The issue that needs to be addressed, is how can we promote good hand washing habits efficiently, to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. For this reason, Kohler will be introducing the Hygieia . The Hygieia is a hands free motion detecting sink that dispenses water, and soap simultaneously. Each year, foodborne diseases contribute to approximately 76 million illnesses ( What Germs, 2013). Improvement in handwashing practices amongst food workers is crucial to reducing the incidence of foodborne illnesses ( What Germs, 2013). The Hygieia will be first to market of its kind with the dual action soap, and water dispenser feature. The game is mainly characterized by exceptionally fast reactions thereby making rules quite necessary. Players must allow the ball to bounce once on their side of the court before returning it to the opposite end. The initial serve is, however, exempted from this requirement. Points are scored if a team fails to keep the ball in play. The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) instituted some key changes in the rules of the game following the 2000 Olympics games, which were held in Sidney, Australia. The amendments were mainly aimed at enhancing the game s viability as a spectator sport that could be televised. Among the new changes was the increasing of the ball s diameter to 40 millimeters. Soon thereafter, the ITTF changed the game s scoring system from 21 point to 11 point system (International Table Tennis Federation, 2014). The serve rotation was also brought down from five points to two. Soon thereafter, the global federation of the game changed the rules and effectively prohibited players from hiding balls during service. In keeping with the sport s spirit of fairness, the rules cushions opponents from being caught by surprise. Rules require that the ball must be tossed a minimum of 16 centimeters in the air before being served. Not only is Lydia basically saying that all women are nosy busybodies, but that they use that quality to catch others whether it be in a lie or in marriage. The fact that Lydia says things like this is interesting because while her character is saying it, Smollett is the one writing it. With this single line he makes women out to be sneaky and conniving creatures, and through this, wholly disrespectable. • 24. Billy Elliot Diversity Billy Elliot, directed by Stephen Daldry, is a coming of age film, filmed in the year 2000. It was set in the year 1984. The film was set in the North of England, in a village called Everington. The director made sure that the movie did not go off course and stayed relevant to the time period of the 1980s. I found that the language presented in the film, was relevant to the time period and the labeling or stereotyping used was very appropriate to the 1980s period. This was because people were only coming to terms with the change and the diversity of men being gay or females being lesbian. The four aspects covered in this essay will be on, Billy Elliot and his relationship with his father. The relationship between Billy Elliot and Mrs. Wilkinson. ... In the 1980 s gender diversity was not accepted as much as it is now. When he did ballet, Billy s class was full of female students which were seen as normal and boys were not expected to do any female activities. Billy did not mind joining the class and he actually enjoyed it. Billy was not very good at dancing but he eventually found a passion and a fire within him to want to do ballet. One of the problems that Billy faced was to actually learn how to dance. His body had never had to have been controlled and every movement in ballet was controlled and precise. Another obstacle was that he had to deal with the abuse and disgrace from Jackie and Tony who were worried that Billy would have been seen as a poof . Jackie and Tony were disgusted when they heard Billy wanted to become a professional ballet dancer. This made Billy more determined to achieve his dream, not just to prove his family wrong, but other people who thought that boys shouldn t dance. Billy wanted it so much that he would practice in secret. The biggest goal was that he had to prove not just to himself but also to Mrs. Wilkinson that he had the passion to make ballet a lifetime career and the willingness to learn to join the Royal Ballet ... I AFFIRM the resolution that In the United States, private ownership of handguns ought to be banned. For clarification of today s round, I offer the following definitions: Private Ownership According to Collins Dictionary, private ownership is the fact of being owned by a private individual or organization, rather than by the state or a public body. Banned Also, according to Collins Dictionary, Banned means to prohibit, officially, from action, display, entrance, sale, etc; to forbid. My value today is UTILITARIANISM. According to Oxford Dictionaries, Utilitarianism is defined as the doctrine that actions are right if they are useful or for the benefit of a majority. Utilitarianism ties in accordingly with today s debate because when you look at the majority, in a utilitarianism theory, you re asking yourself and the people that consist of the majority, What will bring the greatest amount of happiness to the greatest amount of people? And the answer to the question is simple. If you ban the object possessed to kill people, it is no longer a threat to the majority and the focal point of the greatest happiness is suddenly made distinctly clear. My criterion today is SOCIAL CONTRACT. Social Contract is the agreement the individual makes with the government. Peer notes that today, Mecca is a city of more than one and a half million people (Peer The Modern Mecca), and that every year during hajj between two to three million pilgrims flood into Mecca as well. As we can imagine, this number is significantly larger than it would have been when the tradition of the pilgrimage was formed, and therefor the logistics of completing specific rituals becomes challenging. One example of this is seen in the desire to kiss the stone that was part of Abraham s Ka ba, something that Muhammad had done on his own hajj (Peer The Modern Mecca). Unfortunately, because of the immense number of pilgrims trying to kiss the stone, it is impossible for everyone to even come close to accomplishing this. Many Pilgrims raised smart phones above their heads to record the moment (Peer The Modern Mecca), as physical contact was nearly impossible, highlighting the ways in which hajj has been modernized yet remains so important. Peer himself was unable to kiss the stone, but feels comfort in knowing that this is a common reality for most pilgrims, including Malcolm X, who also was not able to reach the stone during his pilgrimage (Peer The Modern Mecca). Also, Islam is very aware that not every Muslim will be able to complete their hajj so alternate options are given for those who may not be able to attend ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While Okonkwo was a strong and important figure in his tribe, he had to keep his reputation that way by making some hard decisions. One of them was when he had to kill Ikemefuna, a young boy from the neighboring tribe. Okonkwo started accepting the decision to kill Ikemefuna because he started to call Okonkwo father. He had to keep his own valor intact and kill the boy to prevent himself from showing any weakness, but deep down, Okonkwo was really upset because of what he did which was ironic, When did you become a shivering old woman, Okonkwo asked himself, you, who are known in all the nine villages for your valor in war? How can a man who has killed five men in battle fall to pieces because he has added a boy to their number? Okonkwo, you have become a woman indeed. (Achebe 65). He continued to roll downhill when the white man comes to try and convert Okonkwo s tribe. Okonkwo responds by killing one of the messengers that were sent. Kids that don t grow up with strong role models and mentors are almost expected to fail; without footsteps to follow exactly, kids are incapable of, or at least unlikely to, achieve anything worth of substance. In the same breath, people advocating the importance of role models condemn the expansion of celebrity in today s society, claiming that they influence youth poorly and don t set a good example for younger generations. But celebrities are the very people that young children are most likely to use as role models. So, how and why does this relationship between celebrities and youth exist? • 35. Negative Analysis Of Television Commercials People can relate to their favorite television shows, but can they also connect with the commercials that inevitably interrupt their programs? Nowadays, most people would answer no by skipping these advertisements through digital video recorders or on demand and streaming services. However, commercials continue to generate an abundance of revenue for advertising agencies. The most popular television ads target specific audiences, and cable is the most appropriate platform. Advertising agencies strategically place commercials on cable networks that target groups that many viewers may consider underrepresented on television. Prominent examples include commercials on Nickelodeon that target children, ads on TV One that attract African Americans, and plugs on COZI TV that draw older adult viewers. Cable television is an ideal platform for personalized advertisements that target specific groups of viewers. Every cable network has almost always been personalized; for instance, certain channels target sports fanatics (i.e. ESPN, Golf Channel, NBC Sports Network, etc.), while others attract music lovers (i.e. MTV, VH1, etc.). Broadcast networks live up to their name in that their audiences are extremely wide and consist of all kinds of races, genders, and socioeconomic statuses. The goal of electrospinning is to produce polymer fibers so that their diameters are much smaller, on a nano scale size. Electrospinning fibers is a relatively cost effective and simple set up (Pham, 2006) as shown in Figure 1. Figure 1: Shows an example set up that contains a syringe, a collector and designates the controlled variables of applied voltage (V), distance between the tip and the collector, and the flow rate/charge density, Q (Pham, 2006). As the name and figure implies, the polymers are exposed to conditions in which charge and voltage are applied that propel the fiber from the tip and Taylor cone to the collector in a circular motion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This input is relevant as it is the driver for the jet propulsion system that creates the fibers. Voltage and the presence of beads has been found to have a proportional relationship in the sense that if the voltage applied to the system is increased, there is an increase in the presence of beads (Pham, 2006). The mechanics that cause this relationship is when the voltage is altered, the jet generated from the tip has a change in volume that causes a change in the of the Taylor cone (Pham, 2006). Recall that the Taylor cone is the result of the difference of charges between the applied electric field charge and the surface charges that causes the shape of the fluid to become a cone as seen in Fig. 2 (Garg, 2011). Furthermore, the flow of the jet is important so that the jet has the proper amount of time to travel from the tip to the collector. Studies have found that a slower flow generates thinner diameter fiber as well as less beading (Pham, 2006). Other parameters such as design of the different components of the system play a role in the quality of fibers created. These include the characteristics and location of the needle tip and jet collector. Our goal is to optimize all of the different parameters that are inputted into the system so that the the presence of the beads will be minimized, so that the integrity of the scaffolds are maintained. Having patiently awaited Jesus? appearance for what must have seemed an interminable amount of time, the pressure on Hughes to get up and go to the altar must have been ponderous. Finally, when Jesus failed to make an appearance that evening Hughes had a choice of continuing to wait or rising and satisfying the expectations of the congregation.
