The Night By Elie Wiesel
Elie Wiesel s Night chronicles his experience surviving in a concentration camp. He, along with every
other Jew in his town, and many more throughout Europe, were sent to concentration camps for no
fault of their own. Hitler, the fascist dictator of Germany and most of Europe, hated them because of
their religion. He considered them a separate, inferior race and created the concentration camps to kill
them all. Elie lost his mother, little sister, father, and nearly everyone he knew to these factories of
death.
I enjoyed reading Night because of how brutally honest Elie was, as well of the significance of this
book. The actual experience of reading this, hearing about starvation, brutality, and watching everyone
you love suffer, is something not even the most masochistic can enjoy. However, this book is
something everyone should read. We all need to face the reality of the Holocaust, and this book forces
the reader to confront it, in cold and sparse prose.
There many intensely emotional scenes in the book. One that stands out to me is the brief fleeting
glimpse Elie catches of his sister s face, just before she is taken to die in a gas chamber. (Wiesel, page
29) The scene in real life lasted perhaps only a second, but it is heartbreaking to read. It will be the last
time he ever sees her or his mother. Elie has no idea what is happening, or that this will be the last
time he sees his mother or sister ever again. Although tht enetire book is filled with scenes of horror,

Major Structures Of The Eye
A) Major structures of the eye include the cornea, pupil, iris, lens and retina. The cornea is responsible
for the focus and entrance of light. The pupil, an adjustable opening, decides the measure of light that
enters the eye. The light s brightness effects the size of the pupil meaning it will either expand or get
smaller. The iris plays a role in size as it regulates the amount of light by controlling the size of the
pupil. The lens is an aspect of the eye that is located behind the pupil. The function of this part of the
eye is to focus light on the retina. The retina is comprised of receptors called rods and cones. The
reason for the retina is to get light that the focal point has centered, change over the light into neural
motions, and

The Micro 3D printer is a very simple and straightforward product. Once the software is installed in
the system, the prototype can be printed instantly. The M3D comes with its software that can be
connected to any system (Windows, Mac and Linux). This software is touch screen capable with a
simple interface and is USB compatible for the connection. The Micro 3D printer comes with the
M3D software, USB cable, instructions manual, country specific power adapter and one micro
filament spool. (LLC, 2014) This is a very interesting project and a growing technology to invest in.
The M3D would be the most affordable 3D printer ever. This product would be useful for the
beginners as well as the experts. The designer could select any model from the internet, download that
model and print it easily. The 3D prototype of that selected model will be created by the M3D. This
3D printer can work for hours consistently providing auto leveling and auto calibration without any
maintenance other than changing the filament spools or the print bed. This could be used for business,
education or personal purpose. The M3D can be used to create products like the glasses, jewelry,
planes, cars, small models or any other creative products that the designer would like.
An existing significant risk for the M3D is injection molding. Only one manufacturer can be secured
for injection molding as it is

College Essay On Social Anxiety
Fitting In
Social Anxiety is stopping me from success of achieving my dreams and goals in life; my weakness is
shyness, lack of self confidence and fear of public speaking. Another words, it s difficult to admit,
however, I am suffering from SAD (social anxiety disorder), otherwise known as phobia, which is the
most common anxiety disorder.
I m a shy and quite person by nature. Most of the time, don t feel comfortable expressing my opinion
and thoughts. I m definitely not a leader type person (though sometimes I push myself to be one).
Public speaking literately terrifies me. A panic attack kicks in, ones I start talking in front of large
groups of people.
College can be an intimidating environment for people like me who are going through social anxiety.
A simple hi while seeing someone pass by, can be a little uncomfortable and awkward at times; yet, a
simple hi can entirely change the communication behavior for the better, a much greater result every
time saying hi , and taking one step at a time. Confidence doesn t necessarily come natural to shy
people and can be challenging.
Another challenge is talking to professors, whether it was in a classroom asking a question, or meeting

I leave the classroom, I usually said something like Have a good day! , Have a great weekend! , or See

The Five Principles Of Dance In The Russo-American Era
Dance is found in all cultures, it was considered a way to communicate without talking. During the
Renaissance period, ballet was considered a Russian specialty. The highly qualified and sought after
dance companies would tour the world performing in front of those who had never experienced ballet
before. By exposing ballet to the United States of America, the Russians inspired and sparked a
demand for legitimate ballet in America. It took place throughout the 20th century, currently known as
the Russo American Era. During the Russo American Era, the Russian choreographers, such as,
Michel Fokine, Anna Pavlova, Vaslav Nijinsky, Léonide Massine, and Bronislava Nijinska; they
benefited from its American audience and started to make dramatic changes to the classical ballet.
Every single one of these choreographers implemented and transformed the way people view, danced
and perceived ballet in the early 20th century. Several ideas for these innovations were from Michel
Fokine, when in 1914 wrote a letter to the London Times, stating the five principles of ballet that
befitted the 20th century ballet:
1. Each dance should use new forms of movement suitable to its subject and period.
2. Dance and mime should be used to express dramatic action.
3. Mime should be used only when the ballet s style dictates it, in other cases the dancer s whole body,
not only the hands, should be used to communicate.
4. The corps de ballet should be used for plot development and as a means of

Review of Techniques of The Others Essay
Review of Techniques of The Others The Others is a horror thriller set in a Victorian mansion on the
British Isle of Jersey in 1945. The film stars Nichole Kidman as Grace, a mother who isolates her two
children in a haunted mansion, slowly discovering that she is surrounded by ghosts. Ironically the
twist at the end reveals in the stunning penultimate sequence of the film that she too is a ghost. The
Others provides a frequent use of dull candlelight making it psychologically creepy and keeps the ...

Introducing the mansion, a long distance shot is used. This gives a clear view of the front of the
mansion and its immediate surroundings giving the audience a full picture of where the film is set.
The effect of lifeless immobility created by the camera s stillness makes the audience relaxed adding
shock to the effect of the scream that quickly proceeds in shot 2.
Unnatural silence creates a bizarre atmosphere that puts the audience in an uncomfortable position
from the infinite background sound in everyday life. The effect prepares the audience for something to
happen and builds up tension. Creepy silence continues in shot 2 until Grace traumatically screams,
this is followed by unexpected laughter.
First, shot 2 opens with a close up shot on Graces face with several seconds silence to add tension for
the scream later on. The close up shot does not allow us to see where the action is taking place initially
because the lighting casts shadows and distorts the character s facial features. This baffles the
audience making it very successful.
Introducing Grace the director uses a close up shot on Grace s face. This emphasises the scream and
enhances the information provided by allowing us to follow her rapidly changing facial expressions.
This is powerful since the audience become more involved as they see what Grace is going through
and become

Mississippi Development Authority Of The Nissan Project
Introduction
In October 2000, Mississippi Development Authority contracted the Institute of Higher Learning to
conduct an impact study for the Nissan Project. State Economic Development Authorities wanted to
determine whether the Nissan project initially worth $930 million in investments will generate
substantial economic and fiscal benefits. Key findings of the study were also meant to serve as a
blueprint to estimate financial incentives deemed appropriate to support Nissan. And attract the
attention and approval of various stakeholders more importantly state legislators involved in the
recruitment process. It turned out, employment estimates generated from the study were considered by
Mississippi Development Authority to be too low ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This initiative was to further enhance Mississippi s competitiveness in attracting Nissan through the
provision of physical infrastructure. State legislators approved approximately $295 million in direct
incentives for the new plant. Approximately $40.4 million of this was for site improvements, and $80
million for recruiting and training. These subsidies were to be financed by Mississippi taxpayers
through general obligation bonds. To expedite the process, which is an indication of commitment and
cooperation among stakeholders, legislative process to approve the bond issue was completed in 5
months instead of a more typical 18 months.
Nissan also received tax rebates associated with Job Tax Credits and the Advantage Incentive
programs. Nissan received corporate income tax rebate worth $5,000 for each direct job created. Per
the agreement, job tax credits were scheduled to run for 15 years on condition Nissan meet the
threshold of creating at least 3000 jobs. Tax credits not utilized in a given year can be carried forward
for up to five years. State authorities also extended these tax credits to Nissan auto suppliers. The
rationale to extend financial subsidies to Nissan s suppliers was to maximize the fiscal and economic
benefits to Mississippi s economy through inter linkages with other industries. It was also agreed in
principle that Nissan

Atrocity Of Prejudice
The American author and poet Maya Angelou once said, ¨Prejudice is a burden that confuses the past,
threatens the future and renders the present inaccessible.¨ Angelou conveys the true atrocity of
prejudice with this statement, revealing it as an enemy of humanity. Harper Lee, another author of
Angelou s period, also discusses prejudice in her novel To Kill a Mockingbird. Lee masterfully
touches on such a difficult topic in her novel by displaying multiple events to readers, as well as the
effects they have on the characters, through the eyes of a young girl named Scout Finch. Some
instances of prejudice and discrimination present in the novel are Maycomb´s treatment of Arthur
¨Boo¨ Radley, Aunt Alexandra´s perception of Walter Cunningham, and the manner in which Tom
Robinson s trial was handled.
The rumors regarding Boo Radley, born only from the stigma surrounding his lifestyle, are one
instance of prejudice in the novel. At the beginning of the novel, young Scout Finch says, regarding
Radley, ¨Inside the [Radley] house lived a malevolent phantom... Any stealthy small crimes committed
in Maycomb were his work.¨ Miss Scout´s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In actuality, Mr. Robinson´s trial was nothing more than a formality for those who had condemned
him as soon as they´d seen the color of his skin. As Atticus Finch said when addressing the court, ¨The
state has not produced one iota of medical evidence to the effect that the crime Tom Robinson is
charged with ever took place. It had relied instead upon the testimony of two witnesses whose
evidence has not only been called into serious question... but as been flatly contradicted...¨ Here, Mr.
Finch calls to attention the fact that there is no evidence that a crime was even committed, or that Tom
Robinson was involved. Furthermore, the truth of Tom Robinson s trial is that it is a formality, merely
meant to precede the guilty conviction his skin color has condemned him

The Pantheon is a former Roman temple, it was built in 27 BC. It is the best preserved Ancient Roman

of the largest dome made mainly of unreinforced and is also the oldest standing domed structure in
Rome. Many historians believe that Emperor Augustus right hand, Agrippa, built the first Pantheon in
27 BC, in the region on Augustus. Since the 7th century, it has been used as a Roman Catholic Church

famous for their three type of columns Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian. Most of their temples and the

Doric temple with Ionic architectural features. The platform of the Parthenon measures 69.5 by 30.9

decoration running around the exterior walls of the cella reflecting its ancient culture (Parthenon n.d.).

Pornography Addiction
Growth of Computers
With the evolution of technology, computers have become more and more advanced due to the
knowledge learned from technicians and other people throughout the world. The first computer
invented was called the Z1 by Konrad Zuse in 1938. In 2017, there is almost an 80 year difference
from when the computer was made, meaning a lot of time to find out more information and put
together better product because of the first piece of technology. With the growth of computers, other
problems such as online pornography, cyber spying hackers, and other crimes have affected the basic
computer ethics for each individual. These problems can have a dramatic impact on people as they can
cause addiction, and the use of personal information to steal money or other important values.
Pornography Addiction
Porn is a constant problem for a numerous amount of people because they become addicted to having
the sexual desire of intimacy with another person. It causes individuals to take time out of their day to
watch mature scenes of other people having different kinds of sexual intercourse depending on the
person s wide variety of options to choose from. Studies show that porn actually rewires the brain to

The physician will order lab tests such as electrolyte panel, creatinine and albumin levels to determine
if there are any abnormalities with the liver and kidney functions, a chest x ray may be performed to
determine if the heart is enlarged and an Electrocardiogram to see if the patient has ventricle
thickening, abnormal heart rhythm or even a heart attack. Once these tests have been completed the
physician may order a MUGA scan or cardiac catheterization to determine the patient ejection fraction
or EF, but most common practice is to order an echocardiogram, which is less invasive, to determine
the ejection fraction. (Association, American Heart, 2013) Ejection fraction, usually stated as a
percentage, determines how well the heart pumps with each beat. A normal heart will pump a little
more than half the heart s blood volume with each beat. Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF),
measures the amount of blood pumped out of the left ventricle of the heart with each contraction.
Right ventricular ejection fraction (RVEF), measures the amount of blood pumped out of the right side
of the heart to the lungs for oxygen. A normal EF ranges from 55 77% and will be lower when the
heart muscle has been damaged by cardiomyopathy, heart attack or other disease that have weakened
the heart muscle. An ejection fraction of 40% usually confirms the diagnosis of heart failure and an
ejection fraction of less than 35% puts the patient at risk of life

Illegal Activities Of Criminal Bikie Gangs
`Do Queensland s tough new laws of 2013 that target the illegal activities of criminal bikie gangs
violate the human rights of motorcycle club members and other members of the public?
The Vicious Lawless Association Disestablishment Act (VLAD) was brought into action 2013. The act
states that a person is a vicious lawless associate if the person commits a declared offence; and at the
time the offence is committed, or during the course of the commission of the offence, is a participant
in the affairs of an association (relevant association) and did or omitted to do the act that constitutes
the declared offence for the purpose of, or in the course of participating in the affairs of, the relevant
association. However, a person is not a vicious lawless associate if the person proves that the relevant
association is not an association that has, as 1 of its purposes, the purpose of engaging in, or
conspiring to engage in, declared offences.
This Act allows the police force to charge/arrest any person if it can be proven that they are associated
with bikie gangs , have a logo relating to a gang or are in part of a group of three or more associates.
The sentencing that is related to the VLAD Laws state that the associate will be imprisoned for the
duration of time related tot heir committed offence and then a further fifteen years must be served

Perception refers to the interpretation of sensory information to form meaningful information (3).
Perception is not possible with attentional processes. Attention to the information provided to the
sensory receptors is required to to have perception (68). Attention and perception interact more with
each other than as processes that are rigidly different. Driving is an example of something that
requires both perception and attention. You need to perceive and recognize important objects such as
stop signs, pedestrians, and oncoming cars. Driving also requires the mental concentration of paying
attention. In something as complex of driving, lacking either attention or your ability to perceive
things can result in dangerous situations (73). In

Analysis Of As I Lay Dying By William Faulkner
Before you were born, there came a time where your parents had to make a decision regarding what
they were going to name you. It was a lot of pressure knowing that this name would be one that people
knew you by, and it would be your title for the rest of your life. They could have chosen a name that
had a special ring to it, one that reminded them of something in the past. They could ve named you
after an important family member as a way to honor them. Perhaps they could ve named you because
there was a deeper meaning behind the letters. The father of the novel As I Lay Dying, William
Faulkner, had the same perspectives as your parents when choosing a name to represent each
character: Addie, Anse, Darl, Jewel, Cash, Dewey Dell, and Vardaman. The names Faulkner uses to
represent his characters and unravel a deeper understanding than just print on the paper, but rather the
indication of qualities (Foster 105) and the truth behind who one really is. Let s start out with the
family name Bundren. If you switch a few letters around, readers often make the connection that it
sounds like burden . The Bundren bunch face many obstacles throughout their journey through the
Mississippi countryside. The burden of poverty strikes the family resulting in little funds to keep the
family upright. The youngest son, Vardaman, makes this realization when he is in town looking in a
shop window full of toys and recognizes rural boys like himself can t have such things. Along with

start of the novel of Sylvia Plath. Esther s horror of concerning their electrocution foreshadows a
bigger horror that will come in her life; receiving electroshock therapy. The first real breakdown

Marco since Marco is physically threatening Esther and his actions constitute to an attempted rape.
However, it is important to know that Marco is a threat since he held more power than her. Esther
even described Marco as invulnerable because he has this financial and sexual power against her. In
this chapter, Marco was seen to be more violent than Buddy Willard. Plath even provided an earlier
proposal from Buddy Willard; which constitutes to a diamond, symbol of marriage in exchange for
independence. For Esther, this is more violent than what Buddy Willard has done for

Death Of The Butterflies Patria Quotes
That moment, I understood her hatred. My family had not been personally hurt by Trujillo, just as
before losing my baby, Jesus had not taken anything away from me. But others had been suffering
great losses (Alvarez, 1994, p. 53). This quote had been stated by Patria in relation to religion.
I had heard, but I had not believed. Snug in my heart, fondling my pearl, I had ignored their cries of
desolation. How could our loving, all powerful Father allow us to suffer so? I looked up, challenging
Him. And the two faces had merged! (Alvarez, 1994, p. 53)
This image illustrates how Trujillo s system truly brunts the lives of Patria, her sisters, and their fellow
people. To them, Trujillo is almost godlike. He usually gives them arcane commandments, smites
those who contravene his power, and is delimited by wealth. Patria shows her disbelief in how
callously God is behaving toward her because of her child s death. Throughout In the Time of the
Butterflies, Julia Alvarez s Patria Mirabal develops from an optimistic young Catholic girl to a woman
who doubts; subsequently, that educators can further come to understand the influence of God on one

The Portrayal of the Powerful in Thomas Mofolo’s novel Chaka
According to the English author and philosopher, Edmund Burke, The greater the power, the more
dangerous the abuse. (Burke) This often proves to be true in Thomas Mofolo s novel Chaka. Power is
often a corruptive concept. If you do not have a genuinely selfless heart, you will become corrupted by
your own power, which often happened to those of power in this novel. Power can be expressed
through controlling others, but it can also be expressed by disabling others from controlling you by
rebelling. Powerlessness occurs when you lose the determination to stop others from controlling you.
In Chaka, Thomas Mofolo distinguishes between the powerful and powerless by making the powerful
easier to relate to than the powerless, while also showing how very few of the powerless were able to
acquire power. The powerless and the powerful have two very distinct roles in this novel. The
powerful are given more of a backstory so that we, as readers, can be able to relate and see the
humanistic side of the powerful, since a majority of them gravely misuse their power. The powerless,
however, are portrayed just as they are: powerless. They are the pawns used to each person of power s
advantage and are not given as much of a backstory, unless their story is relevant to a person in power.
For example, Nandi, being the illegitimate mistress of Senzangakhona and mother of Chaka,
originally had no power. However, we know of Nandi s background because it is relevant to the
upbringing of Chaka

record and narrate screen casts of work they do using their computer desktops, create videos of
subjects or lessons about themselves teaching, or curate video lessons from internet site. Then, with
the materials and video recorded, it then be posted online or You Tube for students to download and
access whenever and wherever it is convenient. The videos or screen casts are available for students to
access whenever and wherever it is convenient at home, during study hall, on the bus, even in the
hospital as many times as they like, enabling them to come class better prepared (Musallam,2011).

There are three dominant misconceptions on the Flipped Learning that brought up by critics and
educators who expressed their concerns and views on Flipped Learning model. The First
misconception is Flipped Learning has been identify and use as a specific teaching method. It is often
thought of as a method that only involves video or audio recorded lessons being studied at home,
discussion and homework being given in class. Flipped Learning is a philosophy; it is not a method of
teaching. Flipped learning simply provides an approach where students can learn information in a time

Rhino Poaching And The Exotic Animal Trade
Would you change your lifestyle to save the existence of a species? In western society, it is our
lifestyle to go to the doctors when you are sick, drive to work and buy food from a grocery store. It is
hard to remember that around the globe there are different customs and ways of life. A lot of people
make the means to live by working the land, owning their own shops, fishing, and hunting animals.
Poachers in Africa make their living by hunting elephants, lions, rhinos, and other exotic animals.
Countries in Asia, like Vietnam and China, have been using rhino horn medicinally for generations.
Would they be willing to change their entire lifestyle to save the existence of a species? I analyzed an
image created by the World Wildlife Fund that addresses rhino poaching and the exotic animal trade.
There are two subjects in this image, the rhino and those within the rhino. The rhino is being captured
by people, but at the same time, its horn is already being removed. I think that this represents the huge
market for rhino horn. We are collecting as much horn as we can as fast as we can do it. This idea of
our insatiable appetite for exotic animal products is also reinforced by how the horn is being removed.
Somebody, with a chainsaw, is cutting off the horn below the base of it. This unsustainable practice
will kill the animal. If the horn was cut above the base it would grow back and the rhino could
continue on, but it is common for poachers to remove as much horn as

Comedic Relief in the Bleek Novel, Hard Times by Charles...
In every bleak novel there is one character who is always there for comedic relief; in Hard Times, that
character is Mrs. Sparsit. Mrs. Sparsit is the housekeeper for Mr. Bounderby. Essentially she does all
the work that a wife would do except she has a lower status than a wife, but higher than a servant.
Here in lies the problem that she cannot deal with. Mrs. Sparsit came from a well to do family, but
slipped in the social rankings. To regain her pride, she attempts to sabotage Mr. Bounderby s marriage,
but in doing so only makes her a fool. In this passage, a robbery has just occurred and the townspeople
are trying to figure out who the perpetrator is. As of right now, they believe it is Stephen Blackpool.
Shaken by the events, Mrs. Sparsit stays at Mr. Bounderby s house. The purpose of this passage is to
show that it is not Mr. Bounderby who is the fool, but rather Mrs. Sparsit, who does not seem to
understand that her actions against Bounderby do not have an impact on him at all. What does Mr.
Bounderby care about? Certainly not Mrs. Sparsit. Mr. Bounderby is an egotistical man who only
cares about his social status and money. He married Louisa with the goal in mind to make her his
trophy wife and to have connections with Mr. Gradgrind it has nothing to do with his emotional
connection with Louisa. Thus, Mrs. Sparsit s determination to pity Mr. Bounderby is completely futile.
Mrs. Sparsit continues to attempt to please Mr. Bounderby

The Rise Of Japan During The 19th Century
The relationship between the two nations has been noted by many scholars that there is a noticeable
affront that has been built between the youth of the Japanese and the youth of the Chinese, which
began in the 19th century when Japan began its rise to power in East Asia (Westad, 2013). The rise of
Japan during the 19th century was seen as a slap in the face to the Chinese, who believed that they
should be in control of East Asia that they were supposed to be the chosen nation, the leader of East
Asia. These ideologies were said to be passed down from one generation to the next beginning under
the leadership of Mao Zedong, and the founders of the Chinese Communist Party to the today
(Westad, 2013).
These ideologies have led too many Chinese regarding the wealth made by the Japanese, and Japan s
relationships with the United States as ill gotten gains; Japan is currently the main Asian ally for the
US (Westad, 2013). The belief was that wealth of the Japanese was meant for the Chinese and as
history has progressed forward the belief has created a rife between the two nations that can be felt
more now than it did when the nations were at war in 1937 (Westad, 2013). Ultimately, the Chinese
Japanese rife came to a head when Japan rose to power during the 19th century, and incited a war due
to their greed and expansionism. The position as the East Asian superpower was and still is regarded
as the true position of power for the Chinese and has created a new dynamic as China

Alexander Graham Bell Essay 10
Alexander Graham Bell, a man who best known for inventing the telephone. Most people don t know
he spent the majority of his life teaching and helping the deaf. Educating the hearing impaired is what
he wished to be remembered for. Bell was born on March 3, 1847, in Edinburgh, Scotland. His mother
was a painter of miniature portraits and also loved to play the piano even though she was nearly deaf.
Aleck s mother knew that he had a talent for music and always encouraged him to play (Matthews 12).
Alexander Melville Bell, his father, was a Professor of Elocution, Art of public speaking (Bruce 16).
Due to the fact that his father was a very knowledgeable man and a professor, Aleck obtained most of
his education from his father and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bell could now make a copy of the pattern and keep one for himself and give one to his student so that
they could practice with it until they were able to resemble the same type of pattern (Mackenzie 68).
Aleck taught by day and invented by night. He had some rough sketches on how the telegraph could
actually be improved. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was able to lend him a
laboratory for him to experiment in. The main reason why he was doing this was he thought that this
machine would be able to help him better teach the deaf (Matthews.) The main man that Aleck worked
with was Thomas Watson. The two tried dozens upon dozens of electric current configurations and on
top of everything they did not have directions or blueprints to follow. Aleck stated to Watson, if I can
get a mechanism which will make a current of electricity vary in its intensity, as the air varies in
density when a sound is passing through it, I can telegraph any sound, even the sound of speech
(Mackenzie 85.) Bell knew that in order to produce sound to transmitting through a wire he would
need more then one transmitter, but having several transmitters in a series would send the current at
different rates. When the current was sent at different rates it just blocked the wire up and in return
was useless. The two men were skeptical about building the telephone because

Improving Cooperation Between Russian Federation and the...
The European Union, as a union of sovereign states, and the Russian Federation, as the biggest state
worldwide, are two major key players in past and current world affairs. Therefore their cooperation is
very important to maintain the balance which is needed for a favorable development of their societies.
Unfortunately, the way to a successful cooperation is paved with many obstacles which are not easy to
overcome for these two superpowers. Several attempts were made to improve the cooperation between
the Russian Federation and the European Union, e.g. agreements were signed and summits were held,
but still many conflicts stay unaddressed.
In the course of time, the Russian Federation and the European Union signed different agreements and
held various summits concerning diverse topics. The Partnership and Cooperation Agreement was
signed in 1994 to legally bind these two key players. This treaty establishes a framework of
cooperation between the EU and the Russian Federation. However, the cooperation between them has
not been smooth and without problems and is therefore causing a decline of progress. Trying to
improve their relation, further negotiations were held at the Khanty Mansiysk summit in 2008. The
main issues that were discussed there included the establishment of a common economic space and a
common space of freedom, security and justice.
The formation of a common economic space is not only profitable for Russia but also for the EU. The
main aim of

Kema sat at her cubicle and tuned into her station and went to work recording all of Willow s
thoughts. Some didn t make much sense or were complete but she enjoyed her job unlike many of her

themselves. They often complained about this isn t what I signed up for. Kema was new to the

Choosing The Movie Perfect Game
If I had to choose my favorite movie of all time it would be The Perfect Game. This movie is good
because it teaches how to persevere to become good at anything. This movie is about baseball and it s
about how kids from a poor town in Mexico became the best team in the U.S. They made their own
field that used to have a bunch of junk and shrubs in it and they practiced on it. A retired Mexican
MLB assistant for the Cardinals becomes their coach when he moves back to Mexico. The kids were
supposed to be really bad and were picked on by the other team from their town, but they ended up
beating them in the 1957 Little League World Series. This movie is better than other movies because it
has a good story behind it and it shows lots and lots of

Growing Up In Suburban Places
After nearly 17 years I came to realize how lucky many individuals are when it comes to the
opportunities they have been given. I was one of these people, who not until recently, finally
understood to not take things for granted, and to truly appreciate everything about myself, my family,
and my life. Through growing up in a very advantageous society, I learned to become someone who
genuinely cares for others while developing a strong sense of compassion.
Living in a suburban area for all 17 years of my existence has grown me in unimaginable ways. Sugar
Land, a prosperous and beautiful city growing by the second, is truly one of the best places to raise a
family. Fully constructed buildings and highways, state of the art facilities and schools,

Hurricane Devastation Of Hurricane Katrina
Hurricane Katrina Scandal
Without doubt, Hurricane Katrina has been the major catastrophe of the century suffered in the United
States. The category 5 hurricane which at first was on course to hit Florida drifted into the Gulf of
Mexico taking a direct route to New Orleans. On his way, the hurricane left hundreds of dead, affected
hundreds of thousands and left billions of dollars in damage. The largest number of deaths occurred in
New Orleans where the hurricane hit the hardest and which was flooded because its levee system
failed, collapsing many of them several hours after the hurricane had continued inland. Environmental
damage and serious threats to public health were among the other results of Hurricane Katrina. Given
the magnitude ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The environmental, social and economic chaos opened the way to abnormal conditions in the deviance
of the funds. In these cases there are always people who want to take advantage of the situation, part
of society responded generously while others reacted with greedy. The problem of the missing funds
was a crime because it violated not only the state but also federal laws regarding the use of false
documentation to receive funds. Hurricane Katrina caused the activity of the opportunists. As is
common, disasters bring out the worst and the best of any individual in our society.
As a result of fraud and as a result of the investigations many people ended up arrested. These people
were charged for breaking the law by taking funds illicitly from the Red Cross which were destined to
victims of Hurricane Katrina. In a way the punishment was appropriate, but at the same time, the
squandered money that these people never made it to the hands of the people who really needed it.
The ideal would have been to have these individuals give back what was given to them through a good
will deed and then serve a sentence for the bad action.
It is irritable to learn that there are always people who take advantage of very difficult situations, in
this case from the hurricane disaster in New Orleans. Society often is affected by many negative
decisions human beings make. Logically, a disaster

Evaluation Of A State Physical Activity Plan
Project Title: Implementation of a state physical activity plan: Realist evaluation of policy
implementation and the need to know what works (and what doesn t)
Problem Statement
While research on physical activity promotion has historically been on the impact of individual level
behavioral interventions, there has been substantial progress in identifying the role of policymaking in
creating population wide improvements (Brownson et al., 2007; Frank Kavage, 2009; Humpel, Owen,
Leslie, 2002). As a result of the increasing evidence of modifying the built environment through
policy interventions (Kahn et al., 2002), the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),
National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)
recommend these as a means of increasing physical activity in communities. Nevertheless, little is
known about how to quantify levels of policy implementation related to physical activity in order to
understand and appropriately interpret policy outcomes at the state and local levels (Ogilvie et al.,
2010; Sallis, Story, Lou, 2009). A process evaluation of the implementation of a state level physical
activity plan is proposed to improve our understanding of the mechanisms of policy implementation
using a realist evaluation method.
Analytic Framework
The need for evidence related to policy influences regarding physical activity are increasing in
importance as government, communities, and health professionals

  • 2. The Night By Elie Wiesel Elie Wiesel s Night chronicles his experience surviving in a concentration camp. He, along with every other Jew in his town, and many more throughout Europe, were sent to concentration camps for no fault of their own. Hitler, the fascist dictator of Germany and most of Europe, hated them because of their religion. He considered them a separate, inferior race and created the concentration camps to kill them all. Elie lost his mother, little sister, father, and nearly everyone he knew to these factories of death. I enjoyed reading Night because of how brutally honest Elie was, as well of the significance of this book. The actual experience of reading this, hearing about starvation, brutality, and watching everyone you love suffer, is something not even the most masochistic can enjoy. However, this book is something everyone should read. We all need to face the reality of the Holocaust, and this book forces the reader to confront it, in cold and sparse prose. There many intensely emotional scenes in the book. One that stands out to me is the brief fleeting glimpse Elie catches of his sister s face, just before she is taken to die in a gas chamber. (Wiesel, page 29) The scene in real life lasted perhaps only a second, but it is heartbreaking to read. It will be the last time he ever sees her or his mother. Elie has no idea what is happening, or that this will be the last time he sees his mother or sister ever again. Although tht enetire book is filled with scenes of horror, ... The pupil, an adjustable opening, decides the measure of light that enters the eye. The light s brightness effects the size of the pupil meaning it will either expand or get smaller. The iris plays a role in size as it regulates the amount of light by controlling the size of the pupil. The lens is an aspect of the eye that is located behind the pupil. The function of this part of the eye is to focus light on the retina. The retina is comprised of receptors called rods and cones. The reason for the retina is to get light that the focal point has centered, change over the light into neural motions, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. College Essay On Social Anxiety Fitting In Social Anxiety is stopping me from success of achieving my dreams and goals in life; my weakness is shyness, lack of self confidence and fear of public speaking. Another words, it s difficult to admit, however, I am suffering from SAD (social anxiety disorder), otherwise known as phobia, which is the most common anxiety disorder. I m a shy and quite person by nature. Most of the time, don t feel comfortable expressing my opinion and thoughts. I m definitely not a leader type person (though sometimes I push myself to be one). Public speaking literately terrifies me. A panic attack kicks in, ones I start talking in front of large groups of people. College can be an intimidating environment for people like me who are going through social anxiety. A simple hi while seeing someone pass by, can be a little uncomfortable and awkward at times; yet, a simple hi can entirely change the communication behavior for the better, a much greater result every time saying hi , and taking one step at a time. Confidence doesn t necessarily come natural to shy people and can be challenging. Another challenge is talking to professors, whether it was in a classroom asking a question, or meeting my ... • 6. The Five Principles Of Dance In The Russo-American Era Dance is found in all cultures, it was considered a way to communicate without talking. During the Renaissance period, ballet was considered a Russian specialty. The highly qualified and sought after dance companies would tour the world performing in front of those who had never experienced ballet before. By exposing ballet to the United States of America, the Russians inspired and sparked a demand for legitimate ballet in America. It took place throughout the 20th century, currently known as the Russo American Era. During the Russo American Era, the Russian choreographers, such as, Michel Fokine, Anna Pavlova, Vaslav Nijinsky, Léonide Massine, and Bronislava Nijinska; they benefited from its American audience and started to make dramatic changes to the classical ballet. Every single one of these choreographers implemented and transformed the way people view, danced and perceived ballet in the early 20th century. Several ideas for these innovations were from Michel Fokine, when in 1914 wrote a letter to the London Times, stating the five principles of ballet that befitted the 20th century ballet: 1. Each dance should use new forms of movement suitable to its subject and period. 2. Dance and mime should be used to express dramatic action. 3. Mime should be used only when the ballet s style dictates it, in other cases the dancer s whole body, not only the hands, should be used to communicate. 4. The corps de ballet should be used for plot development and as a means of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introducing the mansion, a long distance shot is used. This gives a clear view of the front of the mansion and its immediate surroundings giving the audience a full picture of where the film is set. The effect of lifeless immobility created by the camera s stillness makes the audience relaxed adding shock to the effect of the scream that quickly proceeds in shot 2. Unnatural silence creates a bizarre atmosphere that puts the audience in an uncomfortable position from the infinite background sound in everyday life. The effect prepares the audience for something to happen and builds up tension. Creepy silence continues in shot 2 until Grace traumatically screams, this is followed by unexpected laughter. First, shot 2 opens with a close up shot on Graces face with several seconds silence to add tension for the scream later on. The close up shot does not allow us to see where the action is taking place initially because the lighting casts shadows and distorts the character s facial features. This baffles the audience making it very successful. Introducing Grace the director uses a close up shot on Grace s face. This emphasises the scream and enhances the information provided by allowing us to follow her rapidly changing facial expressions. This is powerful since the audience become more involved as they see what Grace is going through and become ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Atrocity Of Prejudice The American author and poet Maya Angelou once said, ¨Prejudice is a burden that confuses the past, threatens the future and renders the present inaccessible.¨ Angelou conveys the true atrocity of prejudice with this statement, revealing it as an enemy of humanity. Harper Lee, another author of Angelou s period, also discusses prejudice in her novel To Kill a Mockingbird. Lee masterfully touches on such a difficult topic in her novel by displaying multiple events to readers, as well as the effects they have on the characters, through the eyes of a young girl named Scout Finch. Some instances of prejudice and discrimination present in the novel are Maycomb´s treatment of Arthur ¨Boo¨ Radley, Aunt Alexandra´s perception of Walter Cunningham, and the manner in which Tom Robinson s trial was handled. The rumors regarding Boo Radley, born only from the stigma surrounding his lifestyle, are one instance of prejudice in the novel. Once these tests have been completed the physician may order a MUGA scan or cardiac catheterization to determine the patient ejection fraction or EF, but most common practice is to order an echocardiogram, which is less invasive, to determine the ejection fraction. (Association, American Heart, 2013) Ejection fraction, usually stated as a percentage, determines how well the heart pumps with each beat. A normal heart will pump a little more than half the heart s blood volume with each beat. Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), measures the amount of blood pumped out of the left ventricle of the heart with each contraction. Right ventricular ejection fraction (RVEF), measures the amount of blood pumped out of the right side of the heart to the lungs for oxygen. A normal EF ranges from 55 77% and will be lower when the heart muscle has been damaged by cardiomyopathy, heart attack or other disease that have weakened the heart muscle. It was a lot of pressure knowing that this name would be one that people knew you by, and it would be your title for the rest of your life. They could have chosen a name that had a special ring to it, one that reminded them of something in the past. They could ve named you after an important family member as a way to honor them. Perhaps they could ve named you because there was a deeper meaning behind the letters. The father of the novel As I Lay Dying, William Faulkner, had the same perspectives as your parents when choosing a name to represent each character: Addie, Anse, Darl, Jewel, Cash, Dewey Dell, and Vardaman. The names Faulkner uses to represent his characters and unravel a deeper understanding than just print on the paper, but rather the indication of qualities (Foster 105) and the truth behind who one really is. My family had not been personally hurt by Trujillo, just as before losing my baby, Jesus had not taken anything away from me. But others had been suffering great losses (Alvarez, 1994, p. 53). This quote had been stated by Patria in relation to religion. I had heard, but I had not believed. Snug in my heart, fondling my pearl, I had ignored their cries of desolation. How could our loving, all powerful Father allow us to suffer so? I looked up, challenging Him. And the two faces had merged! He usually gives them arcane commandments, smites those who contravene his power, and is delimited by wealth. Patria shows her disbelief in how callously God is behaving toward her because of her child s death. • 20. The Portrayal of the Powerful in Thomas Mofolo’s novel Chaka According to the English author and philosopher, Edmund Burke, The greater the power, the more dangerous the abuse. (Burke) This often proves to be true in Thomas Mofolo s novel Chaka. Power is often a corruptive concept. If you do not have a genuinely selfless heart, you will become corrupted by your own power, which often happened to those of power in this novel. Power can be expressed through controlling others, but it can also be expressed by disabling others from controlling you by rebelling. Powerlessness occurs when you lose the determination to stop others from controlling you. In Chaka, Thomas Mofolo distinguishes between the powerful and powerless by making the powerful easier to relate to than the powerless, while also showing how very few of the powerless were able to acquire power. The powerless and the powerful have two very distinct roles in this novel. The powerful are given more of a backstory so that we, as readers, can be able to relate and see the humanistic side of the powerful, since a majority of them gravely misuse their power. The powerless, however, are portrayed just as they are: powerless. They are the pawns used to each person of power s advantage and are not given as much of a backstory, unless their story is relevant to a person in power. For example, Nandi, being the illegitimate mistress of Senzangakhona and mother of Chaka, originally had no power. However, we know of Nandi s background because it is relevant to the upbringing of Chaka ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Then, with the materials and video recorded, it then be posted online or You Tube for students to download and access whenever and wherever it is convenient. The videos or screen casts are available for students to access whenever and wherever it is convenient at home, during study hall, on the bus, even in the hospital as many times as they like, enabling them to come class better prepared (Musallam,2011). • 22. Rhino Poaching And The Exotic Animal Trade Would you change your lifestyle to save the existence of a species? In western society, it is our lifestyle to go to the doctors when you are sick, drive to work and buy food from a grocery store. It is hard to remember that around the globe there are different customs and ways of life. A lot of people make the means to live by working the land, owning their own shops, fishing, and hunting animals. Poachers in Africa make their living by hunting elephants, lions, rhinos, and other exotic animals. Countries in Asia, like Vietnam and China, have been using rhino horn medicinally for generations. Would they be willing to change their entire lifestyle to save the existence of a species? I analyzed an image created by the World Wildlife Fund that addresses rhino poaching and the exotic animal trade. There are two subjects in this image, the rhino and those within the rhino. The rhino is being captured by people, but at the same time, its horn is already being removed. I think that this represents the huge market for rhino horn. We are collecting as much horn as we can as fast as we can do it. This idea of our insatiable appetite for exotic animal products is also reinforced by how the horn is being removed. Somebody, with a chainsaw, is cutting off the horn below the base of it. This unsustainable practice will kill the animal. If the horn was cut above the base it would grow back and the rhino could continue on, but it is common for poachers to remove as much horn as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. Comedic Relief in the Bleek Novel, Hard Times by Charles... In every bleak novel there is one character who is always there for comedic relief; in Hard Times, that character is Mrs. Sparsit. Mrs. Sparsit is the housekeeper for Mr. Bounderby. Essentially she does all the work that a wife would do except she has a lower status than a wife, but higher than a servant. Here in lies the problem that she cannot deal with. Mrs. Sparsit came from a well to do family, but slipped in the social rankings. To regain her pride, she attempts to sabotage Mr. Bounderby s marriage, but in doing so only makes her a fool. In this passage, a robbery has just occurred and the townspeople are trying to figure out who the perpetrator is. As of right now, they believe it is Stephen Blackpool. Shaken by the events, Mrs. Sparsit stays at Mr. Bounderby s house. The purpose of this passage is to show that it is not Mr. Bounderby who is the fool, but rather Mrs. Sparsit, who does not seem to understand that her actions against Bounderby do not have an impact on him at all. What does Mr. Bounderby care about? Certainly not Mrs. Sparsit. Mr. Bounderby is an egotistical man who only cares about his social status and money. He married Louisa with the goal in mind to make her his trophy wife and to have connections with Mr. Gradgrind it has nothing to do with his emotional connection with Louisa. Thus, Mrs. Sparsit s determination to pity Mr. Bounderby is completely futile. Mrs. Sparsit continues to attempt to please Mr. Bounderby ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. The Rise Of Japan During The 19th Century The relationship between the two nations has been noted by many scholars that there is a noticeable affront that has been built between the youth of the Japanese and the youth of the Chinese, which began in the 19th century when Japan began its rise to power in East Asia (Westad, 2013). The rise of Japan during the 19th century was seen as a slap in the face to the Chinese, who believed that they should be in control of East Asia that they were supposed to be the chosen nation, the leader of East Asia. These ideologies were said to be passed down from one generation to the next beginning under the leadership of Mao Zedong, and the founders of the Chinese Communist Party to the today (Westad, 2013). These ideologies have led too many Chinese regarding the wealth made by the Japanese, and Japan s relationships with the United States as ill gotten gains; Japan is currently the main Asian ally for the US (Westad, 2013). The belief was that wealth of the Japanese was meant for the Chinese and as history has progressed forward the belief has created a rife between the two nations that can be felt more now than it did when the nations were at war in 1937 (Westad, 2013). Ultimately, the Chinese Japanese rife came to a head when Japan rose to power during the 19th century, and incited a war due to their greed and expansionism. The position as the East Asian superpower was and still is regarded as the true position of power for the Chinese and has created a new dynamic as China ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Educating the hearing impaired is what he wished to be remembered for. Bell was born on March 3, 1847, in Edinburgh, Scotland. His mother was a painter of miniature portraits and also loved to play the piano even though she was nearly deaf. Aleck s mother knew that he had a talent for music and always encouraged him to play (Matthews 12). Bell could now make a copy of the pattern and keep one for himself and give one to his student so that they could practice with it until they were able to resemble the same type of pattern (Mackenzie 68). Aleck taught by day and invented by night. He had some rough sketches on how the telegraph could actually be improved. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was able to lend him a laboratory for him to experiment in. The main reason why he was doing this was he thought that this machine would be able to help him better teach the deaf (Matthews.) The main man that Aleck worked with was Thomas Watson. The two tried dozens upon dozens of electric current configurations and on top of everything they did not have directions or blueprints to follow. Aleck stated to Watson, if I can get a mechanism which will make a current of electricity vary in its intensity, as the air varies in density when a sound is passing through it, I can telegraph any sound, even the sound of speech (Mackenzie 85.) Bell knew that in order to produce sound to transmitting through a wire he would need more then one transmitter, but having several transmitters in a series would send the current at different rates. When the current was sent at different rates it just blocked the wire up and in return was useless. The two men were skeptical about building the telephone because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. Improving Cooperation Between Russian Federation and the... The European Union, as a union of sovereign states, and the Russian Federation, as the biggest state worldwide, are two major key players in past and current world affairs. Therefore their cooperation is very important to maintain the balance which is needed for a favorable development of their societies. Unfortunately, the way to a successful cooperation is paved with many obstacles which are not easy to overcome for these two superpowers. Several attempts were made to improve the cooperation between the Russian Federation and the European Union, e.g. agreements were signed and summits were held, but still many conflicts stay unaddressed. In the course of time, the Russian Federation and the European Union signed different agreements and held various summits concerning diverse topics. The Partnership and Cooperation Agreement was signed in 1994 to legally bind these two key players. This treaty establishes a framework of cooperation between the EU and the Russian Federation. However, the cooperation between them has not been smooth and without problems and is therefore causing a decline of progress. Trying to improve their relation, further negotiations were held at the Khanty Mansiysk summit in 2008. The main issues that were discussed there included the establishment of a common economic space and a common space of freedom, security and justice. The formation of a common economic space is not only profitable for Russia but also for the EU. The main aim of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The category 5 hurricane which at first was on course to hit Florida drifted into the Gulf of Mexico taking a direct route to New Orleans. On his way, the hurricane left hundreds of dead, affected hundreds of thousands and left billions of dollars in damage. The largest number of deaths occurred in New Orleans where the hurricane hit the hardest and which was flooded because its levee system failed, collapsing many of them several hours after the hurricane had continued inland. Environmental damage and serious threats to public health were among the other results of Hurricane Katrina. Given the magnitude ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hurricane Katrina caused the activity of the opportunists. As is common, disasters bring out the worst and the best of any individual in our society. As a result of fraud and as a result of the investigations many people ended up arrested. These people were charged for breaking the law by taking funds illicitly from the Red Cross which were destined to victims of Hurricane Katrina. In a way the punishment was appropriate, but at the same time, the squandered money that these people never made it to the hands of the people who really needed it. The ideal would have been to have these individuals give back what was given to them through a good will deed and then serve a sentence for the bad action. It is irritable to learn that there are always people who take advantage of very difficult situations, in this case from the hurricane disaster in New Orleans. • 31. Evaluation Of A State Physical Activity Plan Project Title: Implementation of a state physical activity plan: Realist evaluation of policy implementation and the need to know what works (and what doesn t) Problem Statement While research on physical activity promotion has historically been on the impact of individual level behavioral interventions, there has been substantial progress in identifying the role of policymaking in creating population wide improvements (Brownson et al., 2007; Frank Kavage, 2009; Humpel, Owen, Leslie, 2002). As a result of the increasing evidence of modifying the built environment through policy interventions (Kahn et al., 2002), the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) recommend these as a means of increasing physical activity in communities. Nevertheless, little is known about how to quantify levels of policy implementation related to physical activity in order to understand and appropriately interpret policy outcomes at the state and local levels (Ogilvie et al., 2010; Sallis, Story, Lou, 2009). A process evaluation of the implementation of a state level physical activity plan is proposed to improve our understanding of the mechanisms of policy implementation using a realist evaluation method. Analytic Framework The need for evidence related to policy influences regarding physical activity are increasing in importance as government, communities, and health professionals ...
