Skin And Connective Tissue Disease Essay
The skin is known as the largest organ in the body, They are the largest in weight and in surface area.
Also the skin separates the body s inside environment from the outside environment. The skin has a

Many features of skin and connective tissue disorders overlap with each other, and with other
disorders, even though they have unique genetic causes.
A connective tissue disease is any disease that affects the parts of the body that connect the structures
of the body together.
Connective tissues are made up of two proteins: collagen and elastin. Collagen is a protein found in
the tendons, ligaments, skin, cornea, cartilage, bone, and blood vessels. Elastin is a stretchy protein
that is like a rubber band and is the major component of ligaments and skin. When a patient has a
connective tissue disease, the collagen and elastin are inflamed. The proteins and the body parts they
connect are harmed.
There are several different types of connective tissue diseases. They can be inherited or caused by
environmental factors. Connective tissue disease just like:
Rheumatoid arthritis: Rheumatoid arthritis is one of the most common connective tissue diseases and
can be inherited. Ra is an autoimmune disease. That means the immune system attacks its own body.
In this systemic disorder, immune cells attack and inflame the membrane around its joints. It also can
affect the heart, lungs, and eyes. It affects a lot more women than

Analysis Of The Poem Songwriting For Under Achievers
Songwriting for Under Achievers I chose to research information on how to write music because I
have always wanted to write my own music. I chose this topic because I knew I would learn a lot from
it and that it would help me in my future. I wanted to learn how to write great lyrics for my songs and
make melodies so that I may perform them to an audience. I had to research the different ways of
writing lyrics, how to come up with a title for your song, how to make a melody, and how to apply
chords to that melody. I have learned an easy way to make songs of your own so that they seem
professional but anybody could do it. This is the basics of Songcraft. In songcraft, the first thing that
you must think of should be the lyrics to your song. You may not have to use lyrics in your song which
does not change anything but most modern music these days have lyrics to express the mood of the
song more. If you want lyrics in your song or songs then the first step is to brainstorm. Choose a topic
that you want your song to cover and let your imagination run wild. Never hesitate in writing down
the first words that come to mind if you do then that is your first mistake. Lyrics aren t what somebody
has just chosen from a book or poem they are applied in the way that the artist imagines them not how
she/he wants them to sound. When I say this I do not mean that they never fix their lyrics but that they
know there meaning in the song from the lyrics even if the lyrics do not make sense

Analysis Of Are Too Many People Going To College
Are too many people going to college? A question that I would have never expected or never heard of
until I read the title of the article, Are Too Many People Going to College? , by Charles Murray.
College is where most people strive to be. It s a place to learn and evolve into a human being who will
change and innovate the world, so a question like this startled me and made me really confused as to
why but it also caught my attention. Murray provides us with reasons, examples, and statistics on why
he believes people should or should not go to college. In his article Murray talks about the
compensations that come with a degree, the reality about college, bachelor of arts, liberal education,
core knowledge, and the four years spent at university. Three particularly points that sparked my
interest were: the truth about college, the supposed rewards that accompany a college degree, and the
four years you spend at your desired institution. I will be discussing the many flaws that are contained
within his arguments and will be utilizing logical fallacies, diction, to describe why. One of Charles
Murray points is about college and claims that it s not all the hype It s known to be. Murray provides
us with an example comparing a young male, more specifically a high school graduate, aspiring to get
a business major or settling as an electrician.
He states that he s got talent and has the skills required to be an excellent electrician,

Joseph Conrad Influence On Things Fall Apart
Books about Africa: How an Author Influences a Reader Without experiencing something firsthand,
the only way to gain understanding of a foreign concept is through the words of other people. Thus,
without visiting Africa, personal knowledge of it is limited and a reader must make decisions on what
to believe. Two books about African culture are Chinua Achebe s historical fiction novel Things Fall
Apart, and Joseph Conrad s novella Heart of Darkness. After analyzing both of these texts, a reader
can see how one s perspective on a subject can be influenced based on how an author chooses to write
about it. By using either realism or exaggeration, Achebe and Conrad (respectively) create two
different Africas: one that brings African life closer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As such, they describe their stories in differing ways. A quote that illustrates this clash in perspective
is found in Things Fall Apart when a visiting missionary thinks about the book he is writing about his
experience with the tribe He had already chosen the title of the book, after much thought: The
Pacification of the Primitive Tribes of the Lower Niger (Achebe, 171). Achebe wrote this line to show
the reader how an outsider can be ignorant to things they don t understand. Reading this line is jarring
because of it s dark irony; throughout the whole book, the reader has gone on a journey with Okonkwo
and has learned to relate and understand the Igbo. Then at the end of the book, He is using the
character of the Commissioner to represent as a whole the post colonial Europeans who misjudge
Africans. In fact, Achebe is making a meta reference to the genre of books about African culture
which, at the time, were written by European outsiders. Achebe is angered by these authors namely
Conrad himself for their stereotyped portrayal of African culture. He is actively writing against the
perpetuation of misinformation because he knows that how an author chooses to describe something
determines how an outsider will view that

What Is Weakness Analysis And Mitigation
4.0 Weakness analysis and mitigation
First, the company s products need further marketing in order to increase its popularity. As is known to
all, the current economic development is highly influenced by Internet technology. More and more
companies nowadays choose to establish their e commerce model to expand market and reduce
business cost. In particular, technological advancements such as social media and information
technology are increasingly utilized in business marketing strategies. But the company does not yet
have relevant channels; its official website is mainly about corporate and product introduction. It is
suggested that the company may establish its own electronic booking system and digital payment in its
online shops, make use of online distribution channels to save cost, and apply smartphone apps to
increase its interaction with customers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is known that Singaporeans have quite high expectations about tea products (Tay, 2017). Demanding
consumers often tend to change their preference: they want new and fresh tastes. Therefore, the
company should develop more innovative products in order to maximize consumer reach. In addition,
while tea products remain as the main product, the company may develop tea related products and
services so as to diversify its revenue production and thus decrease its business risks. For example, the
company may develop resort and tourism programs as it boasts such natural plantation environment.
Third, the company s current workforce structure is yet to be better prepared to its international
expansion. Human capital is a vital asset for businesses in the modern knowledge economy. When a
firm is able to recruit and retain the best talents, it is more likely to gain competiveness. Either
marketing or for financing, the company should now look more at the global talent pool.

Analysis Of Catherine Maria Sedgwick s The Scarlett...
Comparing Catherine Maria Sedgwick s Hope Leslie or Early Times in Massachusetts and Nathaniel
Hawthorne s The Scarlett Letter is interesting because at first glance both novels don t appear to have
much in common. However, despite obvious differences between both novels such as the character
presentation of the female protagonists in Hope Leslie, who range from the free spirited Hope Leslie,
obedient Puritan Esther, and Magawisca as a noble but proud Native American contrasts with Hester
Prynne s presentation as a shamed but deeply contemplative woman in The Scarlett Letter. The
different purposes all these characters each serve in their respective stories begins to show
commonality in that Hope Leslie s Hope, Esther, and Magawisca and The Scarlett Letter s Hester
Prynne all have to overcome the adversity and social expectations within their Puritan society so that
they can do what they feel is right by relying on their feelings, intelligence, and inner strength. By
examining how characters such as Hope Leslie and Hester Prynne overcome the challenges they face
in their respective Puritan societies, it will be easier to discover how both novels presentations of their
female protagonist illustrates the gender politics of each text. Both Hope Leslie and Hester Prynne
defy the Puritan authority to do what they feel is morally right in the face of judgment and opposition.
In Hope Leslie, after Nelema s trial and her impending execution as a witch, Hope takes the
opportunity

Corrupt The Youth Of Athens
Men of Athens, you accuse me of corrupting the youth of Athens, but I must combat this accusation.
The fact that this trial is being held is preposterous and honestly a waste of time and focus for Athens.
Before you can accuse me of corrupting the the youth, you must first ask yourself who really
positively influences the youth in society? It certainly cannot be the laws because the laws are not a
person rather a thing...correct? So It must be all the councilors and members of the assembly that
improve the youth. If all of these men here today have an influence on the youth, then it is rather
absurd to assume that I alone am the sole corrupter. So now you associate me with being apart of this
gang of corrupters destroying the future of Athens with my philosophical teachings. ... Show more

If you take any property of an object and separate it from the physical object, considering it by itself,
then you are contemplating a form. For example, if you separate the squareness of a dice from its
color, and its weight, etc. Now consider just squareness by itself, you are thinking of the form of
squareness. This property exists apart from the dice, in a different mode of existence than the dice.
The form is not just the idea of squareness you have in your mind. It exists independently of the dice
and independently of whether someone thinks of it. All square objects, not just this dice, participate or
copy this same form of squareness. What if we took something harder to explain such as beauty? We
usually associate beauty with people s bodies. So to truly understand beauty you have to appreciate all
beautiful bodies. After that you have to see the beauty in not just the body, but more importantly the
mind. The result of this is you will see beauty in practices and laws, and that every type beauty is
related. Now that you understand this relation to beauty, you must intertwine it with the forms of
knowledge. now you understand beauty in

Snow White And The Huntsman Film Techniques
The film Snow White and the Huntsman depicts the journey between the two main characters Snow
White and Ravenna the evil Queen. Snow White, who is played by Kristen Stewart for majority of the
film, has been locked in her slain father s castle for years. The character is imprisoned by her father s
evil second wife played by Charlize Theron, whose now queen. The Queen also lives in fear of losing
of her young appearance and uses the blood of virgins to restore it. She tests the success of this with
the well known mirror on the wall. When the magic mirror reveals that Snow White is the source of
her immortality, the queen seeks to kill Snow White. In Snow White and the Huntsman many patterns
are used like the camera shots of the film, lighting and color. The pattern of camera shots is seen
throughout the movie using close ups shots and wide range shots. For example, when Snow White
fled from the castle and is chased by the Queen s horsemen into the Dark Forest, there are close up
shots of medieval like armor enforcing the idea that the film is not in modern day and the action of the
film will be done with weapons like swords and axes. Close up shots of Snow White and Ravenna
dictates who is in power and who is not. The shots show Snow White wearing peasant s clothing,
whereas the Queen wears jewelry, expensive clothes and a crown. Wide range shots are shown in film
with vast plains, castles and battles giving a sense of realism to the setting. Lighting is another pattern

Peter The Great Absolute Monarchy
Tristan Maracha Mr. McKinney Global 10 December 18, 2014 Peter the Great What is an absolute
monarch? This is a form of government in which the ruling monarch has absolute power amongst the
people. The royal government is dominant and ruling over its own aristocrats and all of the other

monarchy itself. There are many absolute monarchs that are present in our society and even to this

Peter the Great was a descendant of the Romanov family who started his co rule with his brother since
he was ten years old. When his brother died in 1896, only then did Peter become the sole tsar of
Russia. However, at the time, Russia did not have a developed military, government, or technology as
that of the other countries in Europe. At the start of the Peter s reign as tsar, he had taken part in the
conquest against the Ottoman Empire in an effort to gain land in order to secure a Russian port in the
coast of the Black Sea. In Compared to Europe, Russia was much less advanced. As a result, Peter
toured Europe seeking to use Western ideas in order to help Westernize Russia. Peter was able to work
with Germans who lived in Russia and studied the German army. In addition, Peter also studied
Europe s philosophy and science. He was so involved in refining Russia s structure, that he visited
various European countries under an alias in order to be one with the crowd and study European
customs and methods. Peter s goal was to make his country a great power commensurate with its size
and potential so that it might forever be safe from foreign invasion or domination. ( Peter the Great.
Historic) Due to the fact that there was a lack of teachers in the Russia, thus a lack of education,
foreign teachers were needed in order to Westernize Russia even further. In addition, Europeans of

White American Bigotry
White Americans, who make a big share of policymakers, criminal equity professionals, the media,
and the overall population, overestimate the extent of felonies perpetrated by ethnic minorities and the
extent of racial minorities who carry out unlawful acts. Indeed, even people who condemn bigotry
regularly harbor unconscious and accidental racial inclinations. Researchers before 2010 focused their
studies on a how African Americans were perceived and how they were treated differently . Maxwell
in his work entitled The Impact of Race on the Adjudication of Sexual Assault and Other Violent
Crimes focuses on how white Americans are treated fairly compared to black litigants and Brennan s
work entitled Depictions Of Female Offenders In Front Page Newspaper Stories: The Importance Of
Race/Ethnicity depicts how black offenders have a negative image. Whereas the research that was
conducted after 2010 focused on actual cases , how the legal system is stacked up against them and

The Philosophy Of Mind And The Body
Philosophy of mind had come across when philosophers had an idea of the concepts regarding the
human mind and its mysteries. This branch of psychology had intended to elaborate and study the
nature and aspects of the human mind, also how these concepts such as mental events, mental
functions and consciousness would connect to each other, through the human brain and body.
Philosophy of mind became one of the central areas of philosophy as the skills and abilities of
metalizing are used to treat individuals as the bearers of unobservable psychological states and
processes, and in order to anticipate and explain the individual s behavior in terms of states.
Dualism, a philosophy most defended by Rene Descartes, Believed that there are two concepts to
philosophy, regarding the mind and the body. Dualism, is possibly the oldest and the most intuitive of
the philosophies of mind, however within the modern psychology, this philosophy is a minority view
among psychologists. This theory states that the mental cannot exist outside of the body, and the body
is unable to think. It refers to reality as two distinct kind of things Mental and material things. Dualists
often believe in different concepts regarding how these would relate to each other. Dualists fall into a
variety of camps depending on how they would believe the mind and the body is related.
Interactionists see that the mental events have effects or can cause the physical effects. Epiphenomena
believe in a compromise

All Quiet On The Western Front Essay
All Quiet on the Western Front Essay We learn about past wars in history. We hear stories from
soldiers that partake in these wars, but do we really understand what goes on out on that battlefield?
We would have to see and experience it ourselves to fully grasp why soldiers come back so scarred.
Not only physically but emotionally, and socially as well. All quiet on the Western Front by Erich
Maria Remarque is a story told by a soldier named Paul Baumer. He shares his experiences of his
service in World War one. The realities of the war and the death that surrounded Paul Baumer were so
epic that he didn t even feel like he was himself when he visited home. Dying in a war or getting
injured is considered a courageous act by society. Society doesn t know what the soldiers go through.

imagined it would be. Paul then realized that after a war like this he would not return to society and be

The Measure Of Concealed Weapons Onto College Campuses
The ability to carry concealed weapons onto college campuses has always been an area of contention.
In 1990, Congress passed the Clery Act which created gun free zones in primary and secondary

well. (Lyons, 2017) In recent years there has been a stronger focus on college related shootings and
deaths which has re ignited the conversation regards concealed weapons on college campuses. The
most prominent political value that is in conflict with itself is freedom. The 2nd Amendment of the

that is in conflict with itself is security. People who are for concealed carry at universities claim that it
would be for their security. Since 2002, 64 people have been killed in mass shootings on college
campuses. (Lyons, 2016) One individual is quoted as saying that The only way to stop a bad guy with
a gun is with a good guy with a gun. (Lyons, 2017) This quote conveys the feelings of many concealed
carry supporters who say that they do not feel safe being restricted as to where they can and cannot
carry their personal weapon. Opponents of this idea claim that allowing guns on college campuses
would conflict with their own personal safety. Many say that the more weapons we have on college
campuses, the more likely an attack or accident is to happen. An idea that has been tossed around
would be to allow only faculty and staff to carry concealed weapons. However, opponents still have
some hesitations. Daniel Webster of Johns Hopkins University stated that if faculty and staff were
permitted to bring guns onto college campuses, there should be ... strict rules and protocols for

Dress Codes In Schools
Should schools have a dress code? Harvard University recently put out an article talking about how
54% of schools in America have a strict dress code and the other 46% either don t or only have a small
dress code rule. Schools should have a dress code but it doesn t have to be very strict.
Schools having a dress code is necessary but some schools go a little overboard with dress code. For
example, the article Harvard recently put out addresses that dress codes are a must in most schools but
not a big deal in the rest of the schools. As another, Harvard also said, Dress codes are important but
some schools take it a little too far. This is important because schools should have a dress code but, a

The Feasibility Of Miniature Horses Serving As Guide Animals
Introduction
I am an animal lover and have direct experience with dogs and horses due to the fact that I own six
horses and three dogs. I have always been amazed every time I see a service dog and its client. I have
always seen dogs used as the service animal. One day at work, I overheard one of my co workers
mentioned the use of miniature ponies as service animals. I was intrigued by the idea of a miniature
pony serving as a guide animal. They have mentioned studies being conducted on this subject, and I
have decided to make this my research topic for this class.
Purpose
The purpose for this research paper was to discover the feasibility of miniature horses serving as guide
animals. I know not all people like dogs or don t trust dogs. What are disabled persons choices in
service animals? How about disabled individuals that are allergic to dogs? I will research documents
on miniature horses used as service animals, identify the pros and cons of my subject, look for
examples demonstrating my subjects abilities, and examine the adaptability of dogs and miniature
horses.
Significance
I hope this study will give handicapped or people who are challenged with every day task a choice of
what animal will be their service partner. I always see dogs as service animals, and I would like to find
out if they can have a choice. I know a lot of people that do not like dogs or are allergic to dogs. This
research could provide answers to issues with service animals and their

Drug Patents Essay
Why do consumers purchase specific drugs for various ailments, sicknesses or diseases they might
have? Why do physicians prescribe certain drugs over competitive drugs that may be available to the
public? Why is it that most of us can easily name specific drugs that fit the many ailments of today s
society? On the surface the answer might be as simple as good TV advertising or radio commercials or
even internet adds. The truth of matter is the major pharmaceutical manufacturers own the patents on
these drugs and this gives them all of the marketing budget and muscle they need to promote the drug
and control the pricing. The incentives for larger pharmaceutical companies are very enticing and as a
result, they don t mind spending the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If multiple drugs are created for the treatment of similar symptoms or illnesses, they can each receive
a patent providing they are not identical in formulation and don t have the same key active ingredient
in them. A patent can only last for 20 years and as a result, new drug companies could potentially take
over the drug formulation. Given the fact that drug pharmaceuticals are always advancing, their will
most likely always be new drugs that are even better (Lehman 4).
The main purpose of creating the drug patent is to achieve market exclusivity for the product created.
With only select brands of the same drug available it is much easier to market and sell the product.
Companies are able to determine their price which allows them to achieve maximum profit. The
importance of making a large profit in the pharmaceutical industry is that drug testing and clinical
trials are extremely expensive. In many cases the profit gained by selling expensive products will be
allocated for future endeavors such as the creation of a future drug, or of the improvement of the drug
already on the market. New research is done every day to find the new miracle drug that will fix
whatever illness is at hand (FDA). If the selling price exceeds the production cost, the pharmaceutical
companies will continue to receive a large profit. Often the company will choose to continue their
research, making advancements to the existing drug, that way it can

Rhetorical Analysis Of Dodge Ram Trucks
Dodge Ram Trucks, a division of the Chrysler Group created in 2009, focused on the public needs
with the pickup truck. In a male dominated truck industry, approximately 11% of pickup trucks in the
United States are registered to females. With such a small number of percentage of women truck
owners, Ram debuted a television advertisement. In 2015, during the 141st Kentucky Derby to appeal
to female buyers. By doing so, they inspired women to break the stereotypes, specifically the male
dominated truck industry. Through its carefully incorporated narration, Ram appeals to the courage of
women through aural and visual techniques and utilizes specific examples of females, who overcame
obstacles in their profession, to provide further inspiration and create a valuable rhetorical
commercial.
Ram s advertisement immediately begins by utilizing logos and pathos to embolden women to fight
against stereotypes. First, the commercial s narration uses a series of repetitive rhetorical questions to
inspire the audacious emotions of the audience. Ram repeats have you ever thought multiple times to
capture the female viewer s attention. This technique establishes an understanding and inviting tone
that prepares the viewer for Ram s overarching message. Next, allowing the viewer to ponder these
rhetorical questions, Ram briefly pauses the narration. Following this pause, Ram articulates their
message: You can break a stereotype and throw it into a whole nother gear. Because

Inflation and Unemployment in Germany
Exact prediction of inflation and unemployment in Germany
Ivan O. Kitov
Abstract
Potential links between inflation, π(t), and unemployment, UE(t), in Germany have been examined.
There exists a consistent (conventional) Phillips curve despite some changes in monetary policy. This
Phillips curve is characterized by a negative relation between inflation and unemployment with the
latter leading the former by one year: UE(t 1) = 1.50π(t) + 0.116. Effectively, growing unemployment
has resulted in decreasing inflation since 1971, i.e. for the period where GDP deflator observations are
available. The relation between inflation and unemployment is statistically reliable with R2=0.86,
where unemployment spans the range from 0.01 to 0.12 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Estimates of the total labor force have been revised from 1987 on, based on census results, and show a
break between 1986 and 1987. Prior to 1984, annual data for the labor force are averages of monthly
and annual estimates supplied by German authorities.
Annual unemployment figures correspond to unemployed persons registered at the end of the month
of September of each year. From 1984, annual average figures are consistent in terms of methodology
and contents with the results of the annual European Labour Force Survey based on the national
Microcensus conducted once a year in April.
2
Therefore one might expect some breaks in linear relationships between the studied variables: labor
force, inflation, and unemployment. However, as shown in
Section 1, the Phillips curve for Germany demonstrates no breaks. The absence of any breaks
evidences in favor of general comparability of the measurements over time.
This paper is primarily aimed at revealing the generalized relationship between the change rate of
labor force level, inflation and unemployment in Germany. Also, individual relationships between the
change rate and inflation, and the change rate and unemployment are investigated.
These relationships allow answering fundamental
questions addresses in numerous studies of inflation and unemployment. For example,

The Economic Problem Of Homelessness
Economic problems such as being laid off of work or the rise in the cost of housing has lead people to
live on the streets. Many of the homeless are women that have become divorced or have left home
because of physical abuse. These women have no education because they have not been given the
chance to go and get the education that it takes nowadays to get the job, so they are forced to live on
the streets. They have no family to help them and they are left with no other choice. People with
mental illnesses also become homeless quite often. These people are incapable of handling the stress
of living on their own. These people get kicked out of their homes and are too ashamed to go to their
families because of their illness, so we see them on the streets struggling to stay warm. Teenage
mothers are also forced to live on the streets because their families will not help them. The fathers are
not there and that forces them to live on the streets. So, they must resort to prostitution to pay for the
food that their young ones need to stay alive. There are many other people that become homeless for
many different reasons. Some of these people cannot help becoming homeless. Some of these people
are the illegal immigrants that come here from other places to get a better life but end up not having
enough money to make it in this hard world that we live in. Teenage runaways have different reasons
for leaving home but all have some of the same reason for becoming homeless. They simply

Second Language Learning Essay
My seminar provided an overview of chapter 4 explaining second language learning. During my
introduction, key points from each of the 5 perspectives were discussed. The cognitive perspective
was given priority as it contained many subcategories within itself. This section also allowed my
group mates to connect theory and practice of second language learning. My group mates were able to
connect to the noticing hypothesis, processability theory and the three principles of practice through
their own personal experiences while learning a second language. The first discussion question asked
my group members to evaluate their own understanding of how language learning occurs and compare
it with the perspectives we covered. The second discussion question provided them a chance to assess
each perspective and think of one weakness and one strength for each. Overall if I were to re do my
seminar, I would like to provide more attention to the other perspectives. I would add more discussion
questions in order to stimulate more in depth discussions. Similarly, adding supplemental information
from an outside source to further discussion and connect the theories to pedagogy. Additionally, I
would create an activity that focused more on teaching of a second language and how these theories
have influenced the current practices used.
In response to my discussion questions, my group member had an active discussion on their own
understanding of second language learning. Almost all group

Rock And Roll Music Analysis
Rock n Roll music is a subgenre of the meta genre, Rock. Freed (2009, 169) described it by saying,
rock n roll is really swing with a modern name. Ennis (1992, 253) identifies, First, early rocknroll
allowed every performer to draw on the full musical resources of pop, country, and rhythm and blues.
and on rockhall.com (2014) his viewpoint is expanded upon,
The more immediate roots of rock and roll lay in the so called race music, or rhythm blues, and
hillbilly music, or county western of the Forties and Fifties. Other significant influences include blues,
jazz, gospel, boogie woogie, folk and bluegrass.
Rock n Roll drew inspiration from many different styles therefore it is a hybrid of multiple genres.

Generally, the time signature of Rock n Roll is 4/4, as it is in Pop, Country, Blues and many other
genres that Rock n Roll is inspired by. For the purpose of Rock n Roll, we can assume the common
time signature is 4/4 because it is simple and easy to move to. You didn t need to be a skilled dancer to
dance to it, essentially why it was kept simple. Rock n Roll makes use of syncopation and as songs of
this genre are usually in 4/4, the emphasis is on beats 2 and 4. Snowman (2009, 220) emphasises the
importance of syncopation by saying, All dance music makes use of this, and it s often a vital element
that helps tie the whole track together.
All these ingredients combined helps create the energetic beat, arguably the most identified ingredient
of Rock n Roll.
Although the foundation of the beat is very similar to that of Rhythm and Blues, it is clear to see how
Rock n Roll has built upon it, when we listen to the music. Initially, Rock n Roll songs were often just
recreated versions of existing Rhythm and Blues songs. Big Joe Turner s song Shake, Rattle and Roll
is a Rhythm and Blues song which Bill Haley and the Comets transformed into a Rock n Roll

Euthanasia And Physician Assisted Suicide Essay
Euthanasia and physician assisted suicide are both types of medical assistance aiding in ending a
suffering patient s life. This pain may be due to a terminal illness and suffering as well as those in an
irreversible coma. This practice of doctor assisted suicide is illegal in many countries, but is increasing
in popularity as people start to recognize the positive aspects that euthanasia has to offer for those that
fit the criteria. Euthanasia is essential for those, placed in such life diminishing situations, and whom
no longer want to experience suffering. This is where the issue gets complicated, and many religious
groups argue that individuals should not have the legal right to choose whether they get to die or not,
but that it is simply in God s hands. Suffering patients argue that they should be given the right to
choose whether or not they have to experience this suffering, to end their life with the dignity they still
have, and to alleviate the stress that their deteriorating life conditions have on their families,
themselves and the entire healthcare system. Therefore, despite the many arguments, euthanasia can
have a very positive impact on the lives and families of suffering individuals, as well as the Canadian
healthcare system.
To kill an individual or simply let someone die who meets the criteria of a sick patient are deemed
very two different things. Killing someone who does not wish to die goes against our basic human law

3.1 The hippocampus and Cognition
Hippocampus belongs to the limbic system of the brain. In 1960, O Keefe and Lynn Nadel continued
to investigate the functions of hippocampus. The behavioural inhibition theory was defined and
justified many questions regarding functions of hippocampus. Eventually their investigations have
been published an influential book, The Hippocampus as a Cognitive Map (O Keefe et al, 1978). The
spatial coding such as spatial memory and navigation is the functions of hippocampus are universally
accepted as with the memory theory (Nadel et al, 1975; Moser et al, 2008). Simultaneously full

2013). There is a need to replace 3H based sensor to detect neutron in context of nuclear
nonproliferation(Runkle 2011) and silica optical fiber with better resistant to radiation damage (Xue et
al. 2012) is the other very close a safe cheaper possible neutron sensor to be considered. In addition,
its other characteristic of having low attenuation losses provides a wide bandwidth for long distance
wireless communication so that the exposure of radiation to workers can be avoided during radiation
detection and monitoring operation.
Ionizing radiation such as x ray, gamma, alpha, beta and neutron radiations, are not only harmful to
human health(Azzam et al. 2012) and environment(Mothersill Seymour 2014), but also can damage
the electronic devices(Wang et al. 2014). The source of these ionizing radiations are from radioactive
materials, x ray tubes, particle accelerators such as ion beams, nuclear weapons and reactors, cosmic
rays from space and from natural rocks and minerals. Exposure of extremely high energy
electromagnetic radiation such as x ray can lead to failure in silicon sensors(Klanner et al. 2013). The
increasing radiation induced attenuation can lead to permanent damage of optical fiber(Kovačević et
al. 2013). So there is a need to develop better sensors with good radiation resistance such as Ge doped
optical fiber sensors in radiant environment.
SiO2 and plastic type optical fiber are two types of material used in any research and development of

ABSTRACT:
This experiment introduces us the pH measurement and application of macroscale titration of aqueous
solutions of acids and bases. The first part of the experiment was applying macroscale titration to
calculate the mass of an HCl solution consumed that was initially done by pounding the tablets and
getting a weight of 0.15 grams. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The standard solution is added to a solution of unknown concentration until all of the unknown
solution has reacted. From the known quantity and molarity (or normality) of the standard solution
and the measured volume of unknown solution used, the unknown concentration can be calculated.
Most acid base solutions are colorless and determining when one reactant has been totally consumed
is difficult by simple observations. To allow us to visually determine this point, we use compounds
called acid base indicators to tell us when a reaction is complete. Dyes (usually weak organic acids)
whose colors depend upon pH are often used to signal the completion of acid base reactions.
The objectives of this experiment are to:
Measure the PH of aqueous solutions of acids and bases.
Compare the PH values obtained by using PH meter and PH paper.
Calculate the percent acetic acid of a commercial sample of vinegar.

A connective tissue disease is any disease that affects the parts of the body that connect the structures of the body together. Connective tissues are made up of two proteins: collagen and elastin. Collagen is a protein found in the tendons, ligaments, skin, cornea, cartilage, bone, and blood vessels. Elastin is a stretchy protein that is like a rubber band and is the major component of ligaments and skin. When a patient has a connective tissue disease, the collagen and elastin are inflamed. The proteins and the body parts they connect are harmed. There are several different types of connective tissue diseases. They can be inherited or caused by environmental factors. Connective tissue disease just like: Rheumatoid arthritis: Rheumatoid arthritis is one of the most common connective tissue diseases and can be inherited. Ra is an autoimmune disease. I chose this topic because I knew I would learn a lot from it and that it would help me in my future. I wanted to learn how to write great lyrics for my songs and make melodies so that I may perform them to an audience. I had to research the different ways of writing lyrics, how to come up with a title for your song, how to make a melody, and how to apply chords to that melody. I have learned an easy way to make songs of your own so that they seem professional but anybody could do it. This is the basics of Songcraft. In songcraft, the first thing that you must think of should be the lyrics to your song. You may not have to use lyrics in your song which does not change anything but most modern music these days have lyrics to express the mood of the song more. If you want lyrics in your song or songs then the first step is to brainstorm. Choose a topic that you want your song to cover and let your imagination run wild. Never hesitate in writing down the first words that come to mind if you do then that is your first mistake. Lyrics aren t what somebody has just chosen from a book or poem they are applied in the way that the artist imagines them not how she/he wants them to sound. When I say this I do not mean that they never fix their lyrics but that they know there meaning in the song from the lyrics even if the lyrics do not make sense ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A question that I would have never expected or never heard of until I read the title of the article, Are Too Many People Going to College? , by Charles Murray. College is where most people strive to be. It s a place to learn and evolve into a human being who will change and innovate the world, so a question like this startled me and made me really confused as to why but it also caught my attention. Murray provides us with reasons, examples, and statistics on why he believes people should or should not go to college. In his article Murray talks about the compensations that come with a degree, the reality about college, bachelor of arts, liberal education, core knowledge, and the four years spent at university. Three particularly points that sparked my interest were: the truth about college, the supposed rewards that accompany a college degree, and the four years you spend at your desired institution. I will be discussing the many flaws that are contained within his arguments and will be utilizing logical fallacies, diction, to describe why. One of Charles Murray points is about college and claims that it s not all the hype It s known to be. Murray provides us with an example comparing a young male, more specifically a high school graduate, aspiring to get a business major or settling as an electrician. He states that he s got talent and has the skills required to be an excellent electrician, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Joseph Conrad Influence On Things Fall Apart Books about Africa: How an Author Influences a Reader Without experiencing something firsthand, the only way to gain understanding of a foreign concept is through the words of other people. Thus, without visiting Africa, personal knowledge of it is limited and a reader must make decisions on what to believe. Two books about African culture are Chinua Achebe s historical fiction novel Things Fall Apart, and Joseph Conrad s novella Heart of Darkness. After analyzing both of these texts, a reader can see how one s perspective on a subject can be influenced based on how an author chooses to write about it. Achebe wrote this line to show the reader how an outsider can be ignorant to things they don t understand. Reading this line is jarring because of it s dark irony; throughout the whole book, the reader has gone on a journey with Okonkwo and has learned to relate and understand the Igbo. Then at the end of the book, He is using the character of the Commissioner to represent as a whole the post colonial Europeans who misjudge Africans. In fact, Achebe is making a meta reference to the genre of books about African culture which, at the time, were written by European outsiders. Achebe is angered by these authors namely Conrad himself for their stereotyped portrayal of African culture. He is actively writing against the perpetuation of misinformation because he knows that how an author chooses to describe something determines how an outsider will view that ... Comparing Catherine Maria Sedgwick s Hope Leslie or Early Times in Massachusetts and Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlett Letter is interesting because at first glance both novels don t appear to have much in common. However, despite obvious differences between both novels such as the character presentation of the female protagonists in Hope Leslie, who range from the free spirited Hope Leslie, obedient Puritan Esther, and Magawisca as a noble but proud Native American contrasts with Hester Prynne s presentation as a shamed but deeply contemplative woman in The Scarlett Letter. The different purposes all these characters each serve in their respective stories begins to show commonality in that Hope Leslie s Hope, Esther, and Magawisca and The Scarlett Letter s Hester Prynne all have to overcome the adversity and social expectations within their Puritan society so that they can do what they feel is right by relying on their feelings, intelligence, and inner strength. By examining how characters such as Hope Leslie and Hester Prynne overcome the challenges they face in their respective Puritan societies, it will be easier to discover how both novels presentations of their female protagonist illustrates the gender politics of each text. It certainly cannot be the laws because the laws are not a person rather a thing...correct? So It must be all the councilors and members of the assembly that improve the youth. And also, because the storage period of fresh milk is shorter (quickly to expire), keeping the milk fresh causes a higher cost because of prompt distribution. People more likely to buy the ice cream product in summer more than in winter and it is the main competitive advantage dependant on the milk production. • 26. Drug Patents Essay Why do consumers purchase specific drugs for various ailments, sicknesses or diseases they might have? Why do physicians prescribe certain drugs over competitive drugs that may be available to the public? Why is it that most of us can easily name specific drugs that fit the many ailments of today s society? On the surface the answer might be as simple as good TV advertising or radio commercials or even internet adds. The truth of matter is the major pharmaceutical manufacturers own the patents on these drugs and this gives them all of the marketing budget and muscle they need to promote the drug and control the pricing. The incentives for larger pharmaceutical companies are very enticing and as a result, they don t mind spending the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If multiple drugs are created for the treatment of similar symptoms or illnesses, they can each receive a patent providing they are not identical in formulation and don t have the same key active ingredient in them. A patent can only last for 20 years and as a result, new drug companies could potentially take over the drug formulation. Given the fact that drug pharmaceuticals are always advancing, their will most likely always be new drugs that are even better (Lehman 4). The main purpose of creating the drug patent is to achieve market exclusivity for the product created. With only select brands of the same drug available it is much easier to market and sell the product. Companies are able to determine their price which allows them to achieve maximum profit. The importance of making a large profit in the pharmaceutical industry is that drug testing and clinical trials are extremely expensive. In many cases the profit gained by selling expensive products will be allocated for future endeavors such as the creation of a future drug, or of the improvement of the drug already on the market. New research is done every day to find the new miracle drug that will fix whatever illness is at hand (FDA). If the selling price exceeds the production cost, the pharmaceutical companies will continue to receive a large profit. • 28. Inflation and Unemployment in Germany Exact prediction of inflation and unemployment in Germany Ivan O. Kitov Abstract Potential links between inflation, π(t), and unemployment, UE(t), in Germany have been examined. There exists a consistent (conventional) Phillips curve despite some changes in monetary policy. This Phillips curve is characterized by a negative relation between inflation and unemployment with the latter leading the former by one year: UE(t 1) = 1.50π(t) + 0.116. Effectively, growing unemployment has resulted in decreasing inflation since 1971, i.e. for the period where GDP deflator observations are available. The relation between inflation and unemployment is statistically reliable with R2=0.86, where unemployment spans the range from 0.01 to 0.12 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Estimates of the total labor force have been revised from 1987 on, based on census results, and show a break between 1986 and 1987. Prior to 1984, annual data for the labor force are averages of monthly and annual estimates supplied by German authorities. Annual unemployment figures correspond to unemployed persons registered at the end of the month of September of each year. From 1984, annual average figures are consistent in terms of methodology and contents with the results of the annual European Labour Force Survey based on the national Microcensus conducted once a year in April. 2 Therefore one might expect some breaks in linear relationships between the studied variables: labor force, inflation, and unemployment. However, as shown in Section 1, the Phillips curve for Germany demonstrates no breaks. The absence of any breaks evidences in favor of general comparability of the measurements over time. This paper is primarily aimed at revealing the generalized relationship between the change rate of labor force level, inflation and unemployment in Germany. Also, individual relationships between the change rate and inflation, and the change rate and unemployment are investigated. These relationships allow answering fundamental questions addresses in numerous studies of inflation and unemployment. For example, Can central ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This section also allowed my group mates to connect theory and practice of second language learning. My group mates were able to connect to the noticing hypothesis, processability theory and the three principles of practice through their own personal experiences while learning a second language. The first discussion question asked my group members to evaluate their own understanding of how language learning occurs and compare it with the perspectives we covered. The second discussion question provided them a chance to assess each perspective and think of one weakness and one strength for each. Overall if I were to re do my seminar, I would like to provide more attention to the other perspectives. I would add more discussion questions in order to stimulate more in depth discussions. This pain may be due to a terminal illness and suffering as well as those in an irreversible coma. This practice of doctor assisted suicide is illegal in many countries, but is increasing in popularity as people start to recognize the positive aspects that euthanasia has to offer for those that fit the criteria. Euthanasia is essential for those, placed in such life diminishing situations, and whom no longer want to experience suffering. This is where the issue gets complicated, and many religious groups argue that individuals should not have the legal right to choose whether they get to die or not, but that it is simply in God s hands. Suffering patients argue that they should be given the right to choose whether or not they have to experience this suffering, to end their life with the dignity they still have, and to alleviate the stress that their deteriorating life conditions have on their families, themselves and the entire healthcare system. Therefore, despite the many arguments, euthanasia can have a very positive impact on the lives and families of suffering individuals, as well as the Canadian healthcare system. In addition, its other characteristic of having low attenuation losses provides a wide bandwidth for long distance wireless communication so that the exposure of radiation to workers can be avoided during radiation detection and monitoring operation. Ionizing radiation such as x ray, gamma, alpha, beta and neutron radiations, are not only harmful to human health(Azzam et al. 2012) and environment(Mothersill Seymour 2014), but also can damage the electronic devices(Wang et al. 2014). The source of these ionizing radiations are from radioactive materials, x ray tubes, particle accelerators such as ion beams, nuclear weapons and reactors, cosmic rays from space and from natural rocks and minerals.
