What Are The Pros And Cons Of Having An Accredited Program
Professional Accreditation Pros and Cons
Pros
Most of the Pros of having an accredited program appear to be well known. Accreditation is a feather
in one s cap because it is a conferring of an honours degree in the field. Accreditation states that the
program has been peer evaluated and found worthy . Accreditation allows the program to be more
visible in an honorable manner to other professionals in the same field, to allied professionals, and
also to the outside hiring world. Programs that are accredited attract highly qualified faculty and
students than programs that are not accredited. Accredited programs typically conduct routine
housecleaning , in the form of a Self Study , to ensure that the program maintains its quality. The Self
Study forms the core of the documentation used by evaluators from the accredited body when

Departments that have accredited programs often do not have a budget line for costs related to
becoming and staying accredited. The following is a list of costs and constraints on a department with
an accredited program.

is not a budget line in a departmental budget
2) Site visit costs The cost for a small committee (2 or 3) to visit the department for 2 or 3 days can be
large. The accrediting body may or may not pay for these costs which include travel, lodging, and
meals.
3) Buy Out Money or Course Relief Some one (or two persons) must take responsibility for the initial
departmental application for accreditation and, later, for the re application for accreditation. Most
departments do not have the money to offer a buy out or course relief for the person(s) time. Estimates
of 400 hours for the initial application are not unusual and half that for the

KFC Competitors
Direct Competitors in the Netherlands
Direct competitors are the ones that specialize in the same kind of product; in this case it is fried
chicken. KFC has always been one of the main direct competitors for Pollo Campero in every country
they operate. The interview with the KFC manager gave a lot of insight on who are the main
competitors for their company. By analyzing their competitors we can have a good insight on who can
be the competition for Pollo Campero. According to Dennise Leeman, the main competitors are
McDonalds and Burger King. The main reason for them being the main competitors is because KFC is
the only fried chicken restaurant chain in the Netherlands. Furthermore, KFC operates in the

Chained Latin fast food is important for this report because the only Latin fast food restaurant chain in

The trend for Latin food has been coming up slowly, and the Dutch culture is getting more into taste

The weather has huge impact on sales; this is because the customers order more food if the weather is
bad. Taco Mundo s location doesn t have a big impact on sales, because most of their orders are made
online. There are only a few restaurants with tables in which customers can go and eat in the
restaurant. The prices are relatively high and that is because the company focuses more on the quality
rather than the price. In one day, they have between 80 to a 100 customers going to their

Essay On Guidance Changes
Does Title IX Need Changed? An argument has emerged in the United States regarding the title IX
guidance changes of 2011. In 2011 the Obama administration changed some guidelines about sexual
assault in title IX. These changes would include many changes that colleges would have to make to
comply with the new title IX rules and regulations. Since 2011 there has been questions regarding if
the changes were doing what they were made to do, which was to further protect each party. Some
people believe that the changes of 2011 have worked well and need to stay. On the other hand, some
people claim that there are some major problems with the regulations and need to be rewritten. The
two sides disagree about Title IX Sexual Harassment/Assault ... Show more content on

On the other hand, some think that any evidence at all is enough to prove someone guilty of a sexual
assault. With schools increase in responsibility it is thought to be a reason why people are not
receiving a universities full attention and fail to receive a full fair trial. University s claim that every
case they investigate is to their best of their ability but the accused and even the victims have reported
what they thought of as a failure of a fair trial. Some statements also show that people seem to think
that students that are involved with a University sports team is treated differently than a normal
student. Also, reports seem to show a favor to female genders and discriminate males that are involved
in an investigation. One of the most debated topics of the 2011 changes to title IX is the differences
between a school trial and a criminal trial. Some people claim that schools sometimes fail or rush to
hand over any investigations over to the authorities. When a case is changed into a criminal trial often
noted is that the trial is much longer than a school trial and the accuser is sometimes harder to prove
that they are guilty. Much of the argument on this topic is when does the school stop and where does a
criminal trial take place? Some people believe that the schools should reserve the right to decide when

Does The Baptism Debate
INTRODUCTION
I am doing my term paper on The Baptism Debate. We were all given a choice of what we wanted to
do for our topic and I decided on this debate because I kind of knew a little about this subject and
wanted to see the different views included. There is a slight bias to this subject matter because of my
own personal experiences in my life. Throughout Scripture, Christians have all agreed that it is God s
will that all must be baptized. It has been commanded by Him and not considered an optional
experience for individuals. Learning about the two different viewpoints, that I will express in this
paper, have brought out a great argument about when and how a human being should be baptized. I
am now going to talk about the history of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My pastor asked them the questions on my behalf and I was washed clean and given the opportunity
to let my life be guided by Christ our savior. I still believe I would have this stance on the argument
because this is what scripture is full of. I don t agree with the thought that The Believer s Baptism
View goes against the church tradition. There is something to be said about how when a child is born
into this world, they bring a natural sin with them. They need to be cleansed with the Holy Spirit at
baptism. I do understand where some people will say that parents making a decision for you is not
right and that there needs to be free will involved when choosing to follow Christ. The counter
argument that caught my eye to back up my view though was how that gives the impression that
Salvation is a matter of God responding to human choice. The infant baptism rather illustrates how
God has full control over our salvation. That is where I truly and firmly stick by the Infant Baptism
View. The next section will follow an outside example of how this applies in my own

The Effects Of Television Violence On Our Society
Our world has a variety of problems today, with violence being at the top of the list, you go anywhere
and that is all you here about. Unfortunately it s in front page headlines of the newspaper and
broadcasted on the news as top stories. Violence is a very big topic, although it is categorized into
many small groups. There is juvenile violence, domestic violence, hate violence, terrorist violence,
and violence displaced through various forms of the media. This research will be on violence in the
media and does it affect our society. How we view television, has changed the world, no doubt in that.
Turn your television set on and pick a channel at random; the odds are that half of the programs you
come across will contain violent material. The statistics are overwhelming as I look on the internet,
read articles, and look at the research. One of the things that most interests me in the violence on
television, is the effects it has on children. Children learn by repetition while watching educational
shows, so is learning violence on television an exception? This research paper is directed to parents,
educational providers, psychologists in research, clinical practice, and individuals with public
advocacy roles and defined by education, age and gender. Both women and men will be a core
audience for this paper, as I have come across the fact that adolescent boys and adult men are more
drawn to violent television then women. It will draw both genders for different

Millions are Affected by Insomnia
Insomnia is one of the sleep wake disorders and affects millions on a daily basis. Individuals affected
by insomnia can have trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, and/or having non restorative sleep.
According to the American Psychiatric Association, insomnia symptoms are reported by one third of
all adults and 10 15% of those adults experience daytime impairments related to insomnia while 6
10% of them actually meet the criteria for insomnia disorder (2013, p. 364 365). The occurrence of
insomnia is more prevalent in women, older adults, shift workers, those of lower socioeconomic
status, and those with poor physical and mental (Morin, 2010). It can result from several causes, some
of which include life stressors such as divorce and job loss, other psychological or medical disorders,
environmental changes, and age. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), medication, or a combination
of the two is used in treating insomnia. There are three types of insomnia: transient, acute, and chronic
insomnia. Transient insomnia is very mild, lasting for a very short period of time, and can occur due to
small stressors or changes in the individual s environment. Transient insomnia is easily resolved once
the stress is alleviated or removed. Acute insomnia commonly stems from stress and dissipates once
the stressor has been removed (Yang, Lin, Cheng, 2013). Chronic insomnia has a longer duration as
sleep patterns do not normalize due other processes interrupting the individual s sleep

Among the websites that were listed for us to examine were some that focused on certain topics such
as the salaries of our congressmen and the happenings of the US treasury, and others that were broad
and covered many topics. I found myself spending more time on these websites that covered many
topics. The Daily Caller is one of these broad websites that featured the current events in politics, the
international community, entertainment, sports and business. The political section on the Daily Caller
seems to favor a more conservative stance, but is by no means a conservative website. Donald Trump

People have been pushing for a more background checks and calling for convicted domestic abusers to
not be allowed guns. The Daily Caller reported that there is in fact already such a law in place. In 1996
there was a federal law passed that prohibits people who have been charged with domestic violence
from purchasing or possessing guns. In 2016 the Supreme Court upheld this law. Gun control is a
touchy subject, and I personally feel that the laws that the government enacts can always be
circumvented. For example, this Devin Kelley should never have been allowed to buy a gun, and yet
he did. The increase in recent years of mass shootings is not due to a more readily available supply of
guns and ammo or laxer laws, rather it is the people. These nut jobs are the crux of the problem, and I
don t have a solution to fail safely prevent mentally disturbed persons from acquiring guns. That being
said, I do think that laws are effective, although not foal proof. I m confident that there has been
several shooting prevented by denying certain persons guns, and that s why I m for gun control laws.
While the world section of the Daily Caller covers many avenues of new, a large portion of it seems to
be focused on conflicts in the international community. North Korea is suffering under the heaviest
sanctions that have been placed on them. A former North Korean financial official has stated that he is

Going Into Diversity I Wasn t For Sure How The Class...
Going into Diversity I wasn t for sure how the class would go. Considering I grew up in a more
northern state and not the deep south, I did not thinking going into this class, people would be as open
minded about the subject as I am. By no means is Missouri, as progressive as say Washington or
California, but I do believe we are a few steps ahead of the south. When I first met my roommates
they, would use terms in conversation that I would never ever use. I was explaining to my friend s
mom about how they would use certain terms. She was clearly astonished, she had not heard those
terms used that since the 1970s. That conversation made me realize how something as simple as an
individual s geographically location can mold and shape how you perceive the world. Not only did my
location change my perception, but what my mother and father taught me morally. My father was in
the Navy and lived overseas in multiple counties. He was the minority, he learned the ways of
different people. Some of his best friends were people he met over there. Both my mother and father
taught, us to accept everyone, don t judge people because of their religion, skin color, or background.
We are all humans, just trying to make it in this world, make it harder on them because they are
different? The third biggest influence is taking the time to learn and research diversity on my own.
This wasn t my first diversity class. In my undergraduate I took a multi cultural psychology class, it

Discuss the themes of The House of Seven Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorne
William B. Dillingham has, with immense precision, conjectured in his literary criticism of Hawthorne
that amidst the theme of inherited curse Hawthorne has placed a significant real theme which is
necessity of man s participation in the united struggle of mankind . In fact, he begins his essay on
Structure and Theme in the House of Seven Gables by stating, Most critics of The House of Seven

The idea of inherited curse and sins makes one ponder the deep concept of pre destination and free
will which is often debated upon. Whether the inherited curse was incurred upon the House and
Pyncheons due to the Maule s curse alone or was their own folly liable and blameworthy too. This
perhaps is a conflicting issue of the text. One can interpret this dichotomy in both ways. Readers can
see the deaths of Colonel Pyncheon, old Jaffrey Pyncheon and Judge Jaffrey Pyncheon either as a
result of that inherited curse given by Mathew Maule or even due to the faults of each of them
individually. The similar fashion of each death results the reader s thinking meander into the stream of
a single thought that these deaths are result of some supernatural or mystical element which is not
ordinary. This supernatural element only, instill within our understanding that the characters have least
agency of their destinies. This paper, hence, can comment on the fact that perhaps these happenings
and deaths are not human governed and therefore lie not in their hands to

Napoleon And The French Revolution
With all the glory and the splendour that some countries may have experienced, never has history seen
how only only one man, Napoleon, brought up his country France from its most tormented status, to
the very pinnacle of its height in just a few years time. He was a military hero who won splendid land
based battles, which allowed him to dominate most of the European continent. He was a man with
ambition, great self control and calculation, a great strategist, a genius; whatever it was, he was simply
the best. But, even though how great this person was, something about how he governed France still
floats among people s minds. Did he abuse his power? Did Napoleon defeat the purpose of the ideals
of the French Revolution? After all of his success in his military campaigns, did he gratify the people s
needs regarding their ideals on the French Revolution? This is one of the many controversies that we
have to deal with when studying Napoleon and the French Revolution. In this essay, I will discuss my
opinion on whether or not was he a destroyer of the ideals of the French Revolution. Certain
individuals approved of Napoleon s reign as the saviour of France. He finished and completed the
Revolution by fulfilling the ideals the people of France demanded. A person such as one belonging to
the bourgeoisie, or even a peasant would be very satisfied with the way Napoleon ruled over the
country. He gave them equality, freedom, justice, and many rights. Such things never existed

really pay attention to it because our President Donald Trump wants to pass a new net neutrality

millions use. June 2003 Tim Wu coins the phrase network neutrality which was later shortened to net
neutrality . (Tim Wu) According to this quote net neutrality has been around since the summer of 2003
but didn t really take any effect until February 2004 when the U.S. Federal Communications
Commission introduced four principles of network freedom . (ProQuest Staff) now therefore net
neutrality did not affect communities until February of 2004.

While working with the HCZ school system I found Hartigan and Du Bois s articles applicable; most

School systems that create classes that actively discuss racial and ethnic identity and history serve as
an empowering dynamic. The documentary Precious Knowledge presented a battle over Ethnic
Studies classes that were offered at Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) in Arizona during 2009.
Divisive issues were not the product of these discussions, but a reluctance of white Americans who
held the social, political, and economic privilege. The Ethnic Studies classes that were offered at
TUSD empowered the Mexican American students in the community by allowing them to learn more
about their history, who they were, and how they fit into the social structure in the U.S. society. The
classes taught the students about the systematic structures within the United States, providing students
with a holistic understanding of the racial and ethnic issues relating to their personal social political

Comparing The Work Of Sigmund Freud And A Neo Analytical...
Contrasting Personality Theories:
Analysis of Freud and Karen Horney
Yorkville University
Alanna Sampson Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to provide an analysis of the work of Sigmund Freud and a neo analytical
theorist. This paper will compare the work of Freud and Karen Horney and begins with an
introduction to the study of personality and an identification of the key elements in Freud and Horney
s theories. The paper then moves into an analysis of where Horney and Freud would find agreement
and disagreement. Finally, an analysis of improvements from Freud to neo analytical theory will be
discussed.
Introduction
Personality is a concept that will continue to studied and improved upon. Theories of Sigmund Freud,
Carl G. Jung, Alfred Adler, Karen Horney, Anna Freud, and Heinz Hartmann and several others have
contributed significant ideas to the study of personality and have had impacts on our current
approaches. The purpose of this paper is to compare two sources of the motivations concerning why
people behave the way they do. Sigmund Freud s psychoanalytic approach will be discussed and
compared to the approach of neo analyst Karen Horney. Karen Horney claimed that psychoanalysis is
not the only way to resolve inner conflicts and she offered a uniquely feminist perspective for her time
that disputed the Freudian theory of penis envy.
Key Points of Sigmund Freud s Psychoanalytic Theory
The founder of psychoanalytic theory is Sigmund Freud.

Examples Of Hero s Journey In Star Wars
The movie Star Wars is the perfect example of a modern hero s journey. Luke Skywalker wanted to
stay home with his uncle and tend the farm, but C3PO and R2D2 needed help so he went with them to
defeat Darth Vader. In the end Luke defeated Vader s space station and was a savior or hero to
everyone. Although some people may say that Star Wars is not a good example of a hero s journey
because it does not show some part of the hero s journey. I believe that Luke Skywalker is undertaking
the hero s journey process since he undergoes every step including, departure, journey, and return. To
conclude, I believe that Luke Skywalker is the perfect example of a hero.

Luke s journey starts when he is inside the millennium falcon with Han Solo, Chewy, Obi wan, R2
D2, and C3 P0. During this event, they soon come to see a planet, which turned out not be a planet,
but to be the Death Star. The Death Star we soon find out is the ship of Darth Vader. Han Solo tries to
turn around but it is too late. They are soon entering the Death Star. When they get inside, they hear
that Princess Leia, the woman from the video message, is trapped in a prison cell and is due to be
executed. This is one of the first obstacles for the team, because now they have to rescue Princess Leia
from her death, but it isn t as hard as they think. Luke and Han Solo come up with the idea to wear the
Storm Trooper uniforms, the uniforms of the military defense of the Death Star. Luke is able to sneak
into the cell where Leia is kept, and therefore completes his first obstacle, but there are many more to
come. After rescuing Leia, she then becomes one of his allies, and will help him later in the movie.
The next and probably the most substantial challenge that the group faces is to escape with the Death
Star with the layout of the Death Star inside of R2 D2. While trying to do this they are all being shot at
by Storm Troopers, but they were still able to escape. Well almost all of them. Obi wan Kenobi
sacrificed himself to Darth Vader so the others could escape the Death Star. This then leads to the final
confrontation, with the outline of the Death Star, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Chewy, C3 PO, R2 D2,
and Princess Leia, have to figure out a way to attack the Death Star. Luke is in an X Wing Fighter
Plane and he makes the last shot, therefore blowing up the Death Star and everyone inside. In
conclusion, Luke Skywalker is the perfect example of a hero because he shows the second step of the

Similarities And Differences Between The Giver Movie And...
There are many differences between the book and movie version of The Giver. The movie changed
many parts of the book, to make the movie more interesting and intense, so that people will be more
interested in watching it. One difference is the way that Jonas received the memories from the Giver.
Another difference is the relationship between Jonas and Fiona. The final difference is when Jonas
flees his community when he wasn t supposed to and succeeded without getting caught. This essay
will describe the differences between the book and the movie version of the Giver.
The way that Jonas receives the memories in the book is different from the way he receives the
memories in the movie. In the book, Jonas had to receive the Giver s memories by laying down on a
bed while the Giver rubbed his back to transfer the memories to Jonas, Jonas felt nothing unusual at
first. He only felt the light touch of the old man s hands on his back ( Pg 101). However, in the movie,
it was different. In the movie Jonas had to sit on a chair in front of the Giver. The Giver would hold
Jonas wrists to transfer the memories to him. If the movie had used the method from the book, then we
wouldn t be able to see Jonas facial expressions because he would be facing down on the bed. Jonas
relationship with the Giver is different from the book to the movie and so is his relationship with
Fiona.

Gun Control Now And The Federal Level
Gun Control Now
Before we can set a plan for the future, or paint a picture of the past that led us to where we are now,
we must first take a snapshot of gun control legislation as it exists now. As legislation varies greatly
between states, we ll start by looking at gun control at the federal level.
As a law abiding private citizen, with no special exceptions, you must be 18 years of age to purchase a
firearm from a licensed dealer, and 21 to purchase a handgun. However, to possess firearms and
handguns, as well as purchase from a private seller and make for personal use, these ages are reduced
to 0 and 18 respectively. Additionally, you are unable to own armor piercing ammunition and machine
guns (weapons that fire multiple cartridges per pull of the trigger) manufactured after 1986 (18 U.S.
Code § 922).
Additionally, the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA) places additional restrictions on certain
weapons which feature certain characteristics. However, NFA weapons are not explicitly illegal to
possess as a normal citizen, but instead require a lengthy and expensive registration process, which
includes a much more in depth background check, and adds additional regulation to the use of such
weapons.
Many such NFA weapons fall into what people consider a slippery slope of gun ownership. Under the
NFA, private citizens are still allowed to own and use Short Barreled Rifles and Shotguns (which
includes such weapons under a total weapon length, not just those with short

Cheerleading Injuries
According to Dictionary.com, the definition of sport is an athletic activity that requires physical

Due to the fact that cheerleaders can become greatly injured from cheerleading like other athletic

by a variety of things such as, tumbling, flyers and bases hitting the ground after performing a risky

cheerleading should be considered a sport because of its rigors and risks (Tanner). Since a medical

Automation Testing Framework
3.1 Automation Testing Framework:
Basically a Framework is a set of guidelines or instructions, which can be followed in order to
produce some useful result. Automation testing framework is set of guidelines or instructions such as
coding standards, object repository, concepts for writing test scripts, test data sources, and different
reusable utilities, which when followed during the automation process , can produce beneficial
outcomes, for example increases code re usage, reduces script maintenance cost, increases test
coverage etc.
The advantage of an automation framework is to provide support for automated testing is the low cost
for maintenance. It needs to update only the test case file if there is any change in the test case, the

Cinco De Mayo Research Paper
Cinco de Mayo is a popular holiday recognized by many. Cinco de Mayo, translates to the fifth of
May, and is a holiday celebrated by people mainly in Mexico and the United States. The purpose of
this holiday is to celebrate Mexico s victory over France during the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
Throughout this essay I will be researching and discussing the history of the famous holiday that many
people like to celebrate.
In 1861 Mexico was in financial trouble and was in debt with many other European countries
including France, Britain, and Spain. These countries sent their troops into Veracruz, Mexico and
demanded repayment. When Britain and Spain made peace with Mexico, France was the only country
that wanted revenge. Next, A French fleet tore through Veracruz, making the Mexico government
retreat.
In consequence, on 6,000 French troops led by General ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The outnumbered, and below par supplied Mexicans only lost 100 lives while the French troops lost
500. The battle ended in 1867, and with the United States military aid, Mexico was victorious. This
was a big and symbolic victory for Mexico.
Lastly, on September 16, 1867 Juarez declared Cinco de Mayo to be an annual holiday, although it is
not a federal holiday so many Mexicans outside of Puebla treat it like a normal day. Now the holiday
is celebrated throughout many states in Mexico, although it is most popular in the state of Puebla
where the surprising victory took place. There are many traditions that go along with the very popular
holiday.
Mexico has many traditions that resonate with Cinco de Mayo. One big tradition is celebrated in the
town of Puebla, where the actual battle took place. On Cinco de Mayo thousands of people gather
together to watch a parade. The parade consists of locals dressed as French and Mexican soldiers, and
they reenact the war. That is only one of the sacred traditions that go along with this fascinating

The Use Of CKT And Concealed Knowledge Test Methods
The study essentially looked upon different variations and means to figuring out ways on how to catch
lies using alternative CKT or Concealed Knowledge Test methods. This particularly focuses itself on
the recognition of introspective, privileged information using participant reaction scores. Before going
over the actual study, the paper lends itself to explaining what may be considered confounding factors
later shown in the study by listing out problems that might arise with lie detectors. The Lykken study
led to researchers using something called the Guilty Knowledge Test method to acknowledge ways on
how to detect guilt which is referenced in this paper to contribute to said future validity problems.

There were two variables installed, one of which focused on a photo stimuli and the other using a
phrase provision, wherein the students that contributed happened to have gone through multiple tasks
that led to them gaining hidden information. Using something called probe study, the students were
then randomly assigned either levels of constraints in which they enacted upon the tasks at different
intervals and sessions using something called familiar or unfamiliar methods. As stated earlier,
multiple probe methods were used during the tests varying in degree to the order in which participants
went through the tasks. The students, 36 of them, went through photographs of faces on the photo
constraints and a couple were chosen at random to observe said faces in a limited amount of time.
After the observations were over, the students were asked questions regarding the faces they ve seen,
specifically any changes in mood and facial structure. As the start of the procedure, this portion was
done so multiple time in reordered sections so as to remove any validation issues, and then moved on
to a rating section wherein they scored the faces based on looks. In the second constraint, the rest of
the participants worked on different words and, like the earlier photo variable, there were students
picked at random to participate in a smaller probe in which they were revealed particular words and
asked to memorize the order in which they were given out. They

The Convergence Of Accounting Principals
The Convergence of Accounting Principals
When it comes to financial accounting, there are two sets of standards that seem to have incongruent
rule and principal based views on the way things should be done. These standards include the
Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP), which is rule based, and International Financial
Reporting Standards (IFRS), which is principal based (Waybright p.260). Despite opposing views, the
two have been attempting to fully converge since 2002. Historically, the concept of converging
companies has been around since the 1950 s when the term harmonization was introduced.
Harmonization was coined to reduce the differences among accounting principals (FASB). Then, in
1990, the term harmonization was replaced by convergence.
The Convergence Project between the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the
Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), started to make way in October 2002 when the
Norwalk Agreement publicized the merging of both sets of standards. The Norwalk Agreement is a
signed understanding by both FASB and IASB to ensure the compatibility of financial standards and
future programs. These two committees, along with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC),
have been working together to improve the accounting standards of GAAP and IFRS. The IFRS
includes most European countries, Canada, Mexico, China, and Russia , (Waybright p.259), while
GAAP is only used in the U.S. The Norwalk Agreement pledged to

Oklahoma City Zoo Research Paper
The Oklahoma City Zoo first opened its doors at Wheeler Park in 1902. It started out as a small
exhibition when they received their first animal donation, a deer fawn. Of course, people flocked to
the zoo. They were amazed that they could stand a few feet away from a live animal without fearing
for their lives. By 1909, the Oklahoma City Zoo had over 100 animals. The zoo was a triumph!
Unfortunately, disaster struck in 1923. A disastrous and tragic flood had occurred at Wheeler Park and
caused the zoo to move to Lincoln Park. The very next year, a fatal fire spread throughout Lincoln
Park. Miraculously, many small areas of the park survived the fire. However, the zoo was
reconstructed on another 17 acres at the park. A director was also hired and new exhibits were built
including the Botanical Garden and the Zoo Amphitheatre. The Oklahoma City Zoo also acquired a
nursing home for the little ones. From that point on, the Oklahoma City Zoo was a grand success! ...

Since the 1902s, the zoo has filled our days with joy and happiness. In addition, the zoo has inspired
children to consider getting a career that specializes with animals or that works with animals, such as a

the first zoo to be built in the Southwest, many people out of the state would come to look at the
animals. You can just imagine the look on their faces when they got the chance to see the precious
animals. The Oklahoma City Zoo has been a place where children and even parents gain a deeper

Population Problems By Garett Hardin
Malthusian view stated that Human Population grows exponentially while the resources consumed by
the population (mainly food) grows linearly. Thereby, there would be a time when the Population
would exceed the supply of food, and thereby would die off due to Famine like situation (positive
checks), or alternatively the humans themselves would use moral restraint including late marriages
(negative checks). Malthus is his essay also states that parents must produce only as many children as
they could afford to nourish and maintain after marriage. In his essay Tragedy of Commons Garett
Hardin too speaks on very similar lines. As his abstract reads The Population Problem has no technical
solution, it requires a fundamental extension in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a very good argument, had the world been an Equal and Just world, but as we know it, the
world is highly unequal in terms of opportunities and resource distribution. While Hardin himself
practices what he preached breeding 4 children because he and his wife, had the capability to nurture
them but states that a poor man must refrain from breeding more than the number of children he can
nurture. Hardin also specifies the way of Inheritance to be unjust as an idiot can inherit millions and
how genetic recombination could make a mockery of the doctrine of like father, like son . Although
Hardin does not talk in great detail in this essay as to the plans that he proposes for addressing this
population issue he says that The alternative to the commons is too horrifying to contemplate.
Injustice is preferable to total ruin. He indicates through the example of Kingsley Davis how coercion
could be necessary even if it is not unanimously agreed upon! From his Essay, it is evident that Hardin
is not unaware of Technological advancements that could alter the resources vs population issues. But
why then does Hardin not consider Boserup s Theory? Is there something more than what Hardin has
expressed is a question that that I am trying to find an answer

It is amazing that mannequin heads put on the hats, wigs, sunglasses, jewelry and make up everybody
needs, yet many merchants still do not understand their importance. They can be made to be similar to
many people types and are almost always built completely to scale. Made from foam, plastic, and
vinyl, mannequin heads are most frequently used to model hats. Rather than waste the funds and space
to display hats with full size mannequins, mannequin heads are clearly more ingenious and they can
be grouped jointly to display more than a few hats on a small table space. Any sort of mannequin head
will do this job better than a full size mannequin. If a vendor would really similar to show shoppers a

Why Do Parents Need To Spank Essay
Most parents have debates in whether to spank or not spank when it comes to their children discipline.
However, the first and the most common response of many parents are to spank, then probable trouble
back in their mind and ask themselves, did my response was okay? Many parents do not even bother
to stop and think through their actions. Commonly corporal punishment comes out of hands; it is not
disciplined anymore it becomes abuse. All parents have their tradition of discipline and probably
believe is the correct one, because they were taught that way, some are okay, but others are NOT
correct. Although some of the parents blame their own child, themselves or whatever is happening

Although some studies show that a parent uses more corporal punishment from the time a child is 1 ½
to 3 years old (Socolar, R. S., Savage, E., Evans, H. 2007, p.476). Most children get spank or punish,
even do they do not know what they do; they are just a child who is trying to experiment with life.
However, parents use corporal punishment in kids who are not capable of understanding jet.
Nevertheless, these children are learning obedience through use of physical force with the intention of
causing a child to experience pain, but no injury, for the purpose of correction or control of a child s
behavior (Fréchette, S., Zoratti, M., Romano, E. 2015, p.135), (Straus and Donnelly 2001, p.4). Even
so, the used of corporal punishment can make a child more aggressive instead of correcting their
behavior, the frequent use of physical punishment the child thinks that is part of life, and that is the
way to show love. Does corporal punishment is the only way that a parent can harm a child? Given a
child whatever they want just because the parent does not want to deal with yelling, crying, or any
action that would interrupt their

Monica ` S Presence In Augustine s Life
Monica s presence in the spiritual life of Augustine poignantly reveals the profundity of love shared
between a mother and her son. In the nine books in which she is mentioned, Monica makes significant
decisions that have a substantive impact on Augustine s early life. Despite being a devout Catholic,
Monica chooses to delay the baptism of her son until later in life. While this would be unusual for a
contemporary member of the Catholic church, Monica believed it was in the best interest of Augustine
to defer his baptism, allowing him to purge himself of his sinful and ungodly desires present during
his youth with baptism received at an older age. As such, Monica minimizes the accumulation of sin
that Augustine may commit after his baptism, thus allowing him to be to be judged more warmly by
God after his death. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
13). Early on, Augustine is unsure of the validity of his mother s decision, considering her to have
failed in her role, as he believed he would be less sinful if baptized at a younger age, eliminating the
ritual s absence as an excuse for him to continue committing sin. Augustine s blaming Monica for not
leading him on the correct spiritual path, proliferates as he grows older as he deplores her apparent
lack of effort in restraining his sexual desires. He laments, ...although she had warned me to guard my
virginity...she did not seek to restrain my sexual drive within the limit of the marriage bond (pg. 28).
However, Augustine s sentiment that his mother did not put forth great enough effort to restrict his
desire slowly dissipates, as he struggles on the path to salvation. Augustine begins to recognize the
significant role Monica played in his conversion, emphasizing the role she played as both a physical
mother and spiritual

The Indian Python
The Indian Python is an arboreal snake, commonly found slithering through the jungles, specifically
trees of the East Indies. Having the ability to grow to a length of about 20 feet, the Python Molurus is
no small predator, however, ironically, these massive creatures may not be so easy to be seen. As
snakes and reptiles are famous for being able to camouflage themselves, these Pythons are able to hide
in plain sight, and along with that are absolutely able to prey on creatures with ease. The Pythons
color patterns are along the lines of white and yellow with spotted patterns that range from certain tans
and grays to brown. These colors and patterns generally range and very from place to place depending
on where they live. Certain specimen from the of Western Ghats and Assam usually contain a darker
shade, while those living near the Deccan Plateau and East Coast typically contain lighter shades. The
Indian Python contains a very carnivorous diet which includes mammals, birds and reptiles arbitrarily,
but seem to favorite mammals. The Python moves so quickly slithering from head to tail and strike
with ready fangs. Most living prey is strangled by constriction and slain in that manner. It doesn t take
much of the Pythons strength in order to kill. The kill is usually unable to breathe, and at some point
submits to the snakes grip and is swallowed whole. Once a rather large meal is consumed, the snake is
rather not fond of moving, because if it is absolutely necessary to do

Assess The Benefits Of Promoting Mental Health And Wellbeing
Mental health and wellbeing can positively affect almost every area of a person s life: education,
employment, family and relationships. It can help people achieve their potential, realise their
ambitions, cope with adversity, work productively and contribute to their community and society.
Promoting mental health and wellbeing has multiple benefits. It improves health outcomes, life
expectancy, productivity and educational and economic outcomes and reduces violence and crime.
(The Department of Health, 2010)
The persuasion that being in nature supports humans in general is taken far back in the earliest
histories of Greece, Persia and China (Velarde et al. 2007,p. 49). In Europe, the first hospitals were

A Comparison of Women in Beowulf, Widsith and Icelandic...
Women in Beowulf , Widsith and Icelandic Sagas
Are women in these poems active equals of the men? Or are they passive victims of the men? The
roles of the women in Beowulf, Widsith, The Saga of The Volsungs, and the Saga of King Hrolf Kraki
are not always stereotyped ones of passive homemaker and childbearer and peaceweaver, but
sometimes ones giving freedom of choice, range of activity, and opportunity for personal growth and
development.
Let us first of all consider the roles of women in the classic epic poem Beowulf. In Beowulf the hero
makes reference to Ingeld and his wife and the coming Heathobard feud:

Chickering says that women in the poem had all the dignity and standing they commanded in Tacitus
day, when they were greatly respected and sought for their sound advice (264). Queen Welhtheow was
giving such advice to King Hrothgar concerning his sons succession to the throne:
Accept this cup, my noble lord,
gold giving king; be filled in your joys,
treasure friend to all, and give to the Geats
your kind words, as is proper for men;
in your generous mind, be gracious to the Weders,
remembering the gifts you have from all tribes.
I have been told you would have this warrior
for your son. Heorot is cleansed,
bright hall of rings; use while you may
your gifts from so many, and leave to your kinsmen
the nation and folk when you must go forth
to await your judgment. Full well I know
of my gracious Hrothulf that he would rule
the young men in honor, would keep all well,
if you should give up this world before him.
I expect he will want to repay our sons
only with good once he recalls

Battle Of Iwo Jima Essay
The battle of Iwo Jima is one of the great and epic battles entrenched in minds of many American
historians. It is an eminent battle that took place in February and March 1945 as part of the pacific
campaign during the famous World War II. It was an epic battle in which the Unites States armed
forces fought tirelessly and seized the island of Iwo Jima from the Japanese empire. It was expected to
be a small battle to secure a strategy piece of the island, but it turned out to be one of the lethal and
devastating battles of all times. There were many hidden reasons for the battle of Iwo Jima, but both
countries were tangled to the idea of capturing the Iwo Jima Island and surrounding territories.
Japanese saw the island as a great way to stop the Americans bombing campaign. Evidently, Iwo Jima
was located under the flight path for several B 29 bombers used by Americans in air attack; hence
taking control of the island will make it easy to see the imminent attacks. Destroying the B 29
bombers presented a great chance to control the island and overwhelm the U.S troops. On the other
side, the island was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence, it took long to learn about an imminent attack. More so, their offensive and defensive strengths
came from the ground troops as it was challenging to use air assault. The underground tunnels were as
success for the Japanese as they acted as a great holding out location. The bombing by the Americans
also made it easy to dig deeper and erect anti aircraft artillery. The Battle of Iwo Jima was indeed
overwhelming as the Americans had a team of 70,000 well trained soldiers, vast air and naval power
and immeasurable communication technology. Surprisingly, 21,000 Japanese troops were able to hold
a much huge American force. Most of the Japanese soldiers fought to death and many never let it go

In 2011 the Obama administration changed some guidelines about sexual assault in title IX. These changes would include many changes that colleges would have to make to comply with the new title IX rules and regulations. Since 2011 there has been questions regarding if the changes were doing what they were made to do, which was to further protect each party. University s claim that every case they investigate is to their best of their ability but the accused and even the victims have reported what they thought of as a failure of a fair trial. Some statements also show that people seem to think that students that are involved with a University sports team is treated differently than a normal student. Also, reports seem to show a favor to female genders and discriminate males that are involved in an investigation. One of the most debated topics of the 2011 changes to title IX is the differences between a school trial and a criminal trial. Some people claim that schools sometimes fail or rush to hand over any investigations over to the authorities. When a case is changed into a criminal trial often noted is that the trial is much longer than a school trial and the accuser is sometimes harder to prove that they are guilty. We were all given a choice of what we wanted to do for our topic and I decided on this debate because I kind of knew a little about this subject and wanted to see the different views included. There is a slight bias to this subject matter because of my own personal experiences in my life. Throughout Scripture, Christians have all agreed that it is God s will that all must be baptized. It has been commanded by Him and not considered an optional experience for individuals. Learning about the two different viewpoints, that I will express in this paper, have brought out a great argument about when and how a human being should be baptized. There is something to be said about how when a child is born into this world, they bring a natural sin with them. They need to be cleansed with the Holy Spirit at baptism. I do understand where some people will say that parents making a decision for you is not right and that there needs to be free will involved when choosing to follow Christ. The counter argument that caught my eye to back up my view though was how that gives the impression that Salvation is a matter of God responding to human choice. The infant baptism rather illustrates how God has full control over our salvation. That is where I truly and firmly stick by the Infant Baptism View. Transient insomnia is very mild, lasting for a very short period of time, and can occur due to small stressors or changes in the individual s environment. Transient insomnia is easily resolved once the stress is alleviated or removed. Acute insomnia commonly stems from stress and dissipates once the stressor has been removed (Yang, Lin, Cheng, 2013). In 1996 there was a federal law passed that prohibits people who have been charged with domestic violence from purchasing or possessing guns. In 2016 the Supreme Court upheld this law. Gun control is a touchy subject, and I personally feel that the laws that the government enacts can always be circumvented. For example, this Devin Kelley should never have been allowed to buy a gun, and yet he did. The increase in recent years of mass shootings is not due to a more readily available supply of guns and ammo or laxer laws, rather it is the people. These nut jobs are the crux of the problem, and I don t have a solution to fail safely prevent mentally disturbed persons from acquiring guns. He was a man with ambition, great self control and calculation, a great strategist, a genius; whatever it was, he was simply the best. As a law abiding private citizen, with no special exceptions, you must be 18 years of age to purchase a firearm from a licensed dealer, and 21 to purchase a handgun. However, to possess firearms and handguns, as well as purchase from a private seller and make for personal use, these ages are reduced to 0 and 18 respectively. However, NFA weapons are not explicitly illegal to possess as a normal citizen, but instead require a lengthy and expensive registration process, which includes a much more in depth background check, and adds additional regulation to the use of such weapons. The Use Of CKT And Concealed Knowledge Test Methods The study essentially looked upon different variations and means to figuring out ways on how to catch lies using alternative CKT or Concealed Knowledge Test methods. This particularly focuses itself on the recognition of introspective, privileged information using participant reaction scores. Before going over the actual study, the paper lends itself to explaining what may be considered confounding factors later shown in the study by listing out problems that might arise with lie detectors. As stated earlier, multiple probe methods were used during the tests varying in degree to the order in which participants went through the tasks. The students, 36 of them, went through photographs of faces on the photo constraints and a couple were chosen at random to observe said faces in a limited amount of time. After the observations were over, the students were asked questions regarding the faces they ve seen, specifically any changes in mood and facial structure. As the start of the procedure, this portion was done so multiple time in reordered sections so as to remove any validation issues, and then moved on to a rating section wherein they scored the faces based on looks. • 24. The Convergence Of Accounting Principals The Convergence of Accounting Principals When it comes to financial accounting, there are two sets of standards that seem to have incongruent rule and principal based views on the way things should be done. These standards include the Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP), which is rule based, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), which is principal based (Waybright p.260). Despite opposing views, the two have been attempting to fully converge since 2002. Historically, the concept of converging companies has been around since the 1950 s when the term harmonization was introduced. Harmonization was coined to reduce the differences among accounting principals (FASB). Then, in 1990, the term harmonization was replaced by convergence. The Convergence Project between the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), started to make way in October 2002 when the Norwalk Agreement publicized the merging of both sets of standards. The Norwalk Agreement is a signed understanding by both FASB and IASB to ensure the compatibility of financial standards and future programs. These two committees, along with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), have been working together to improve the accounting standards of GAAP and IFRS. The IFRS includes most European countries, Canada, Mexico, China, and Russia , (Waybright p.259), while GAAP is only used in the U.S. The Norwalk Agreement pledged to ... Unfortunately, disaster struck in 1923. A disastrous and tragic flood had occurred at Wheeler Park and caused the zoo to move to Lincoln Park. The very next year, a fatal fire spread throughout Lincoln Park. Miraculously, many small areas of the park survived the fire. However, the zoo was reconstructed on another 17 acres at the park. Thereby, there would be a time when the Population would exceed the supply of food, and thereby would die off due to Famine like situation (positive checks), or alternatively the humans themselves would use moral restraint including late marriages (negative checks). In the nine books in which she is mentioned, Monica makes significant decisions that have a substantive impact on Augustine s early life. Despite being a devout Catholic, Monica chooses to delay the baptism of her son until later in life. While this would be unusual for a contemporary member of the Catholic church, Monica believed it was in the best interest of Augustine to defer his baptism, allowing him to purge himself of his sinful and ungodly desires present during his youth with baptism received at an older age. As such, Monica minimizes the accumulation of sin that Augustine may commit after his baptism, thus allowing him to be to be judged more warmly by God after his death. ... Having the ability to grow to a length of about 20 feet, the Python Molurus is no small predator, however, ironically, these massive creatures may not be so easy to be seen. As snakes and reptiles are famous for being able to camouflage themselves, these Pythons are able to hide in plain sight, and along with that are absolutely able to prey on creatures with ease. The Pythons color patterns are along the lines of white and yellow with spotted patterns that range from certain tans and grays to brown. These colors and patterns generally range and very from place to place depending on where they live.
