Mcfadden V. Ohio Legal Case Study
In 1962, in Cleveland Ohio, an officer saw 2 gentleman that he thought to believe were
committing crimes. Cleveland Police Detective McFadden saw two men, John W. Terry and
Richard Chilton, standing on a street corner. Detective McFadden believed these men were acting
suspiciously. He observed the them walk back and for in an identical pattern only pausing to stare
into a certain stores windows and then return to the rendezvous point and converse. This happened
multiple times until they were joined by Carl Katz who shared a few words with Terry and
Chilton. He did not stay long, mere minutes before disappearing back into the city. After a few
moments, the suspicious 2 began to wander after Katz. Detective McFadden had now began to

They felt as though they should be able to use any means necessary to prevent crime and disable
criminal activity. However, there is a huge difference in the priorities of Law Enforcement and the
Judicial system.
The question for the courts was does this follow the rules of evidentiary collection and was the
search performed according to the law? The court decided it was not. The allowance of letting the
police department to make the standards as they go along and to perform their duties by any means
necessary could be problematic. Police brutality, harassment, and other types of inappropriate
behaviors could result from giving an officer a blank check for search and seizures. It also
contributes to an all powerful mentality that leads these people to believe that they are untouchable.
Both members of the public as well as the police force itself must have rules and standards to
protect people on all sides. This ideology allows people to feel comfortable in their jobs and in
their lives. Everyone needs a societal norm that is accepted as commonplace for these situations.
The court also emphasized that the facts available to the officer in the few moments PRIOR to the
arrest, the officer must have extreme confidence that this person has committed a

Reading Of An Extract From The Cuckoo Clock
Close Reading of an Extract From The Cuckoo Clock Mrs. Molesworth s The Cuckoo Clock was
originally published in 1877. During this point in history, children s literature typically focused on
the instruction of children. Children were seen as blank slates upon which adults carved moral
values. Many authors, Mrs. Molesworth s included, incorporated these moralvalues into easy to
digest and entertaining narratives. This extract from The Cuckoo Clock, titled Obeying Orders ,
combines didacticism with elements of fantasy that capture the imaginations of its intended child
audience. While the tale centers around a magical cuckoo clock, it never fails especially with the
narrator s assistance to remind children of the lessons they must learn in order to grow into proper
adults. The narrator in The Cuckoo Clock speaks in a loving, yet educative manner, like an aunty
imparting words of wisdom to her young nieces and nephews. On page 45, when the narrator first
directly enters the narrative, she says, For fairies, you know, children, however charming, are
sometimes rather queer to have to do with. This sentence alone suggests many things about the
narrator. When she addresses her intended audience, children, directly, she encourages them to
participate in the story being told; one can imagine a group of children nodding their heads along in
agreement. She also appeals to their intelligence by implying that they are already familiar with the
information she is about to impart,

Example Of Complication In Antigone
Antigone Life has a way of becoming complicated. Problems between friends, foes, and even
family members develop everyday for people of all walks of life. It is part of human nature to
disagree, cause conflict and fight for what we believe in even if that means stepping on someone
else s toes along the way. Aristotle had thoughts on complication dating back to 335 B.C when he
wrote Poetics the earliest surviving work of dramatic theory. In it he analyzed tragedies and
theorized that every tragedyfalls into two parts complication and unraveling or denouncement.
Sophoclesstated, By complication I mean all that extends from the beginning of the action to the
part which marks the turning point to good or bad fortune. The Unraveling is... Show more content

His son Creon calls him out on his poor judgment when he yells, You have not respect at all if you
trample on the rights of the gods (161). Creon believes his laws are the correct way of ruling,
which ultimately leads to his downfall. If he had taken a moment to be more open minded he
may have realized that he could not triumph over the gods and that eventually this complication
would unravel for the worse. Antigone s complications begin to unravel as she becomes more
open minded towards the end of the play. Although she never states that she was in the wrong
for going against the king s wishes, she does begin to show remorse as her death is fast
approaching. The fear of her impending death is what made her realize that there is a chance
that she could have been in the wrong for burying Polyneices. As she is about to be locked in her
stone tomb she cries, Very well: if this is the pleasure of the gods, once I suffer I will know that I
was wrong (164). This is the first time we see Antigone waver from her strong headed ideals and
intense loyalty that led her to going against the king s decree. We see her situation continue to
unravel as she loses composure and begins feeling sorry for herself when she states, Now he has
taken me by force, he is driving me down unmarried. I ve had no man, no wedding celebration,
shared nothing with a husband, never raised a child (164). This is a side of Antigone that has not

Apollo 11 Persuasive Essay
It was a long anticipated summer night, when millions of Americans crowded around their bulky
television screens. It was 1969, America had recently passed through the height of the Cold War,
but their relationship with the Soviet Union continued to become more hostile. There was no clear
winner in sight, and America was desperate for a definitive victory, it was this moment, in this very
moment that they finally had one, and they clung to it. This moment was, of course, the Apollo 11
moonlanding on the 20th of July, 1969. However, as with many famous events captured in the
public eye, it wasn t long before conspiracies began to unfold. Some began to question the validity
of the photographs and videos associated with the moon landings, others made claims that the
government couldn t possibly have had the technology necessary to successfully land on the moon,
and some even went as far as to point out the exact set and director that supposedly filmed the
hoaxed moon landings. I first became aware of the conspiracy surrounding the moon landings about
two years ago when I watched a documentary on the topic and naturally, being the patriotic
American that I am, I sided with NASA without considering any evidence on either side of the
argument, but recently, the topic was brought up in conversation and it stuck an interest within me.
So in this essay I will throw my preconceived notions out the metaphorical window, and I will
attempt an unbiased investigation to find out where my

The Horrifying World Forster Creates in The Machine Stops...
The Horrifying World Forster Creates in The Machine Stops
In The Machine Stops Forster creates a world set in the future, where machines rule. In fact,
machines run life so much so that human beings, by this time, have adapted accordingly to life
and the lifestyle it brings. In the arm chair there sits a swaddled lump of flesh a woman, about
five feet high, with a face as white as a fungus, Forster writes. This is a pretty horrific description
because it shows us that in the world Forster has created, people get no exercise whatsoever. There
is in fact no need to get any exercise with the life the humans lead under the control of The Machine
. Infants [are] examined at birth, and all who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Life then cannot go on! It is often perceived that life is better and easier with machines but it is
eerie to think of what will happen without them, as they are the ones that actually truly have the
control. Again, it is often thought that with the machines man is able to control everything, but
what if in truth The Machine is actually reactionary to society and civilization? Life then becomes
less secure than we care to believe.
So changes in lifestyle indeed have occurred, and the main one being that people basically need
not ever to leave the comfort of their own home! Video telephone calls are available, so it is
possible to call people and see them visually during the conversation but therefore, in this world
Forster has created, no one really ever sees anyone face to face, up close and personal. This seems
negligible though, but it actually leads onto much greater consequences. People in this world are
now haunted by the terrors of direct experience and direct experiences are things that are simply
bound to happen sometime in life! However, now people have grown unaccustomed to it, so even a
simple handshake is considered as shockingly barbaric. People never touched one another, Forster
writes. Human beings are no longer used to seeing expressions on people s faces, as they simply
do not require to go out of their homes and make acquaintances. They

Discrimination Of African American Women In The Film Industry
let s face it, discrimination isn t over, and it never will be. Women have been belittled in almost
every industry in comparison to males. The numbers are there, and there is no argument against
it, women have made and do make less. Quite frankly, it s ridiculous that in this day and age that
we have advanced to, we still see women as less superior and deserving of less pay. the average
wage for women is seventy seven cents to the dollar that a man makes for the exact same job. To
add salt to the wound, they also can get laid off for fighting for this equality, it s absurd and
completely sexist. On top of this, African American women along with Spanish nationalities make
even less than that. In more than one state, these women can face less... Show more content on

Women have a small place in the film industry. Well, let me clarify, a VERY small place in the
industry. The biggest role they have is in producing, which is getting a script, director, and team
(this is the job for the people with enough money to sponsor a big part of the creation). It has little
to do in the actual creation of the movie. They make up only twenty five percent in film. That
means that men, make up seventy five percent, but that s only the beginning. five men work in the
industry for every one woman, and women only make up fifteen percent of all the writing done for
movies. Even worse, for the job of directing, women make up a miniscule nine percent in
comparison to the ninety one that men take up, but one more thing. Cinematographers, the people
that film the movie and make it immersive for us, is the worst place for women. They make, only
two percent in the entire industry, meaning that the rest is made up of men. this stereotype of men
being better than women at their jobs, whether it be directing, editing, filming is based on no true
information but rather a stigma of women in the workplace. The public is less able to recognize
this discrimination because they re exposed to it every day. But to have such discrimination even in
the background and off stage, without the attention of the public eye, is disgusting and an insult to

Five Major Components Of The National Incident Management...
In American society, there are numerous of organizations, agencies, corporations, and distributions
that each have certain systems that are required for them to be successful. When it comes to
homeland security and the management of different disasters or incidents, there definitely needs to
be a protocol or plan in place to be able to manage detrimental events. The Incident Management
System and the Incident Command System are two very significant systems, that go hand in hand
with each other, therefore are presented within the same type of logic model known as the NIMS
Command Chart. Knowing the fundamental components of each and key points, discussing how
these programs operate in practice, and understanding their elements, strengths, and weaknesses are
all worthy of attention when dealing with serious disasters.
At first, knowing what the Incident Management System describes and what the major components
are is a start. The National Incident Management System is a ... Show more content on

This means that this system can be used for a variety of incidents, hazards, and impacts, despite its
size or location. There are five major components that need to be understood about this system:
Command and Management, Preparedness, Resource Management, Communications and
Information Management, and Ongoing Management and Maintenance (FEMA, 2017). Each of
these components apply very well to the management of a serious disaster that Homeland Security
and public agencies may have to deal with. By using this policy program, it organizes key
information and distributes important duties and gives direction in order to lessen the chaos that
can transpire during a disaster event. Following, the Incident Command System is a very
convenient tool when managing a serious disaster. One point that the Emergency Management

Cement, Neopolymer and Similar Compositions
2.Conventional cement
The function of cement is for isolating production zone and to provide support for the casing
[11].Portland cement is made up of calcium oxide (CaO), silicon dioxide (SiO) and water (H2O)
which the composition of calcium carbonate is around 75 80 wt% and 20 25 wt% of clay [7],[14]..
Compressive strength of Portland cement is developed through hydration. Hydration is chemical
reaction between water and cement compound. The rheology and early strength of cement is
developed from reaction of aluminate compound at the beginning of hydration. Rate of hydration
can be control by adding gypsum. It is for preventing the premature hardening of cement. Gypsum
will react with aluminate and hydroxyl ion to form ettrigate. Ettrigate will prevent hydration
process by forming needle shaped crystal on the aluminate and creating induction period [11].
Some addictive can be added to the cement to enhance the properties of cement. There are
accelerator, retarder, extender, weighting agent, dispersant, fluid loss control agent and loss
circulation agent [11].
AcceleratorUse to speed up the early stages of hydration. Applicable in shallow well.
RetarderInhibit hydration and slow the setting time of cement. Applicable in deep well.
ExtenderReduce slurry density, thus reduce the hydrostatic pressure during cementing operation.
Extender use to prevent break down and loss of circulation of weak formation.

Blood Clotting And Human Life
Physiology is the study of how body of living things function. There are many issues in this topic
but the issue of blood clotting is a unique area of study. Blood clotting is also known as blood
coagulation and it has two definitions which vary because of its occurrences. Blood clotting is
first defined as natural sealing of an injured part of the body by bloodfor the purpose of preventing
blood loss. The second meaning of blood is concentration of blood in one part of the body like in
lungs or veins. Many researchers and physician concentrate more on veins clotting (inner
clotting) of blood because it is a threat to lives of many people. However, the paper will explore
the two types of blood clotting and come up with a conclusion on how the two types of blood
clotting occur and how they are threat to human life. The general objective of the paper is to
research on the whole concept of physiology blood clotting in human beings.
Research questions Some of the research questions are as follows;
How do the two types of blood clotting occur?
How is veins blood coagulation a threat to human life?
What is the difference between outer blood clotting and veins blood clotting?
Is there treatment for blood clotting?
How is outer blood clotting a benefit?
Literature review Researchers and scholars have written more on this topic and they have expressed
different views on both types of blood clotting. Physicians argue that body outer blood clotting

Homeless Problem
Homeless people are those that cannot maintain regular, secure and adequate housing. They are on
the side of streets, looking for ways to earn money and provide for themselves and their families.
The underprivileged and poor health is exceedingly interconnected. Poverty arises from political,
social and economical inequalities. Povertyleads to one becoming sick because of the lack of
sanitation, poor nutrition, making the choice of putting health at risk to provide for their family.
Poor health in turn traps communities in poverty. Residing in overcrowded and poor conditions

Xenia In The Odyssey
The Telemachia nestled within Homer s Odyssey chronicles Telemachos s journey to understand
what it truly means to live as a man with arete. Xenia, Greek for hospitality, is paramount to the
fundamental understanding of Greek culture. Enforced by the almighty Zeus, xenia demands a
mutual generosity between the host and guest. Host s are encouraged to provide a regal
presentation of food, drink, and entertainment for their guest without a second consideration. In
return, guest s reciprocate this cordial offering with graciousness and an unassuming demeanor. The
Telemachia introduces a litany of opportunities for the acceptable practice of Xenia, an essential

Furthermore, hoards of courage and confidence are vital to even be willing to attempt such
daunting endeavors. The prospect of defending a home from over one hundred despicable suitors
and living with cordial virtue seem insurmountable to the eyes of young Telemachos.
Telemachos hardly knows the potential for greatness that lies within as he has never witnessed
the example of his godlike father Odysseus. The goddess Athene seeks to inspire confidence in
the young Telemachos through a connection to his lost father: but she left in his spirit
/ determination and courage, and he remembered his father / even more than he had before...
/ and his heart was full of wonder, for he thought it was a divinity (35, 321 323). Telemachos is
infused with the vigor of his father and surges with a spirit of conviction in himself. Menelaos
furthers this cause with a detailed comparison between father and son, My heart tells me / to
speak, for I think I never saw such a likeness, neither / in man nor woman, and wonder takes me
as I look on him, / as this man has a likeness to the son of the great hearted Odysseus (68 69, 140

bloodline to Odysseus. Menelaos continues, I could not tell you all the number nor could I name

Premier League Essay
For the six clubs in England, finishing top four in the Premier League is the same as surviving
relegation.
Without Champions League football, clubs suddenly panic as there is the likely hood of having to

resources.
This past season, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City, and Liverpool managed to get across the
finish line somewhere in the top four. For them, Champions League football is looming on the
horizon and have nothing to worry about just yet. And somehow joining them, will be Jose

it with a revolutionary football stadium. Best of all they finished second and are going to play
Champions League football yet again. But they did crash out of the Champions League in a very

Three questions to ask:
Can Tottenham hold on to their best players especially from their defense and midfield?
How much cash are they willing to spend and for who needs in the attack?
Are they ready to take the leap to becoming European Elites doing better in the Champions League?
As uncertainity swirls around the club going forward, they are a great position to be more than

What Is The Tone Of The Girl By Jamaica Kincaid
The Girl is a poem that was written by Jamaica Kincaid. The poem depicts a mother instructing her
daughter of what to do, and how to do it. As stated in the poem the child was being instructed on
how to buy cotton which shows that the person receiving the instruction is a girl, buying cotton to
make a nice blouse, shows females attributes and qualities. As quoted, iron your father s khaki shirt
so that it doesn t have a crease, shows that it is a motherspeaking. The tone of the poem is one of
denial, because of the instructionin which the mother was giving to the daughter. As stated, always
eat your food... turn someone else s stomach; and tone is throughout the poem.
The instructive lessons that are outlined in the text for example, how to wash the clothes, how to
smile at someone you like, and how to set the table. Shows that the girl does not know how to do
things in the right way or what is pleasing to the mother s approval. In Girl the mother is trying to
teach the daughter manners including how to smile to people even if you do not like that person
and how to set the table.
The mother in the poem seems like a perfectionist who wants things done in a specify way to meet

Mapp V. Ohio Case Study
Mapp V. Ohio (1961)In May of 1957, in a Cleveland, Ohio suburb, a woman named Dollree
Mapp found herself at the center of an unprecedented legal battle over civil liberties. Mapp, who
was no stranger to the Cleveland Police Department, ran a boarding house and was involved
with illegal gambling. Working off an anonyms tip, the Cleveland police showed up at Mapp s
house to look for a suspect in a local bombing case. They believed, along with the suspect, they
would find illegal gambling equipment. Upon their arrival, Mapp refused to let the officers into
her home because they did not possess a search warrant. However, after several hours, the officers
returned and forcibly entered Mapp s house after wielding a piece of paper that they claimed...

At the urging of her attorney, Mapp appealed her conviction on the grounds that her First
Amendment right had been violated. Her argument was that she was well within her rights to have
been in the possession of the explicit material found during the search of her home. Interestingly
enough, when her case went before the Supreme Court it was not the First Amendment that was
addressed, but the Fourth Amendment. The argument supporting Mapp highlighted the fact that a
search warrant was never produced at her original trial, so evidence against her should not have
been used. Due to the fact that the evidence was seized illegally by the police without a warrant, the
police violated her Fourth Amendment right. The Constitutional issue surrounding the case of
Mapp v. Ohio involves the Fourth Amendment (Amendment IV) Search and Seizure. Amendment
IV was passed by Congress on September 25, 1789 and ratified on December 15, 1791. According
to the National Constitution Center, Amendment IV people have the right to be secure in their
persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be
violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation,
and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

The Fascination Of Murder, By Scott Bonn Essay
For centuries, murder cases have captivated the lives of individuals. From news station
broadcastings to the media creating films and documentaries, homicide cases have gained the
interest and popularity of many individuals. This begs the question as to what lies in the fascination
of murder? The basis of this can be found in the psychological state of individuals including, the
experience of thrill, curiosity, the need for answers, and fear. When an individual becomes
fascinated with murder, they may be drawn in by a certain rush or thrilling experience. This
experience is similar to that of a whodunit , a novel, play, or movie in which the murderer is not
revealed until the very end (Merriam Webster, n.d.). In both circumstances, individuals are
captivated by tension and uncertainty. Along with this, Scott Bonn, a criminology professor at
Drew University, states that The euphoric effect of true crime on human emotions is similar to that
of roller coasters...and allows individuals to experience fear and horror in a controlled environment
(Bonn, 2016). A prime example of this includes the infamous murders committed by Jack the
Ripper. In 1888, five women were brutally murdered by a man who went by the name of Jack the
Ripper . During the time of these killings, serial murder became a new phenomenon that was highly
publicized (Top 10 Unsolved Crimes, n.d.). Additionally, Professor Bonn s theory on the science
behind humans interest for murder states, The

Socioeconomic Status And Mental Health Essay
Enormous amounts of research have linked socioeconomic status to mental health, especially in
children and adolescents. Low poverty levels have been specifically identified as a key causal factor
in developing mental health problems in children. There has been much discussion over the
different theories as to why this is the case, but only two of these theories seem to hold a lot of
evidence. Certain interventions and preventative measures can be employed in order to improve an
individual s mental health by altering socioeconomic status and they have proven to be successful.
Low socioeconomic status has a profound impact on mental health in children; however, if the
appropriate interventions and preventative measures are used, mental health outcomes can be
drastically improved. Socioeconomic status is a complex construct that is based on household
income, material resources, education, and occupation, as well as related neighborhood and family
characteristics, such as exposure to violence and toxins, parental care and provision of a cognitively
stimulating environment. (Hackman et Al, 2010) Research has shown that low socioeconomic
status has a huge impact on mental health in children and adolescents, primarily due to the
associated stress and effects related to poverty. There are three primary factors or levels through
which poverty affects children/adolescents: individual, relational, and institutional. The first of
these levels, individual factors, are the factors

The Impact Of British Art On The World Of Art And...
British art is respected across the world for it s unique techniques and skills used for painting. A
lot of artist from around the world visit Britain for it s thick culture in the world of art and
opportunities. Almost all Minority art made in Britain falls into one of the two baskets, either it is
created by an artist from an African American/ Caribbean origin, or by the common people of the
Indian sub continental background. Despite of the attempts made to accumulate these two
inconsequential groups together, in order to promote, what Britain still identifies as Black art ,
what they bring to the world of art is radically divergent, mostly because of their origin s personal
crisis as well as due to their history of struggle.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Otherness in the field of art in some regions is not being identified and appreciated as it should
be. Fixity has now become a way of practicing culture, where racial differences in the discourse of
colonialism, is a incongruous methodology of representation. Fixity gives a feeling of firmness and
an unchanging order as well as disorder, immortality and daemonic repetition of racism in art
naturally.
Similarly, the racial and gender stereotype, that is reflected in the way of art and it s analysis, is
a major rambling blueprint, in the manifestation of identification as well as of consciousness, that
wavers between different opinions of what is conscientiously being repeated, always in a fixed
state and something that has already been known for a long period of time. Therefore, it is the
force of ambivalence that gives racial stereotype it s prevalence, and that shield s it s repeatability
in changing historical events and in it s wandering case.
Art is known to be region based, but a lot of artist now prefer going to a different nation and
grasp a different technique and skills. But when it comes to opportunities, for example; an Indian
origin or South Asian origin artist may be at a greater disadvantage as compared to the white artist
in British society, mainly because of an unchallenged racial intolerance or partiality, and also
because of the history of British colonies in Asia. History

shared the details that Helena is coming back. This is after it was announced a while back that she

to people in Port Charles, and it really did seem that she was finally dead. Helena is seen in a new
preview for General Hospital, and all that she says in the preview is You know, Port Charles is a
very mysterious place. You never know who s going to come on.
The preview doesn t confirm very much just that Helena Cassadine is coming back to Port

Everyone knows that Jason Morgan was headed to Cassadine Island to try and figure out why his
son Jake was afraid of him. He knows that he was the scarecrow, but not exactly what Jake saw him
do or how bad it really was for him while there. Of course, going to Cassadine Island during May
sweeps on General Hospital is going to be more than just a simple trip. It sounds like Helena will
be back for the big Nurse s Ball, which is the perfect time for the drama to heat up in Port

I: Daddy, why do I have to head upstairs?
Mr. Johnson: no response....
I knew I had to head upstairs because I never liked getting my father angry and he always had his
reasons. However, I didn t pay close attention; instead I hid beside the stairs. I could hear my
father talking to someone, though I couldn t see who my father was talking to. Then I decided
to head upstairs because whoever my father was talking too was not important. It was just

It is quite interesting to me that as times change, the general idea of beauty changes. The sad
thing is that it seems to follow money. Back then, pale, plump people were seen as more
beautiful than skinny, tanned people. Back then, pale skin and a little bit of extra blubber meant
that someone had enough money that they could stay inside and get enough to eat. Now, it
seems that the opposite is true. Healthy food is more expensive than the alternatives such as
McDonald s. Having tan skin may mean that a person has enough money to go lay in a coffin
looking thing, get an artificial sunburn, and get nice leathery skin. Who doesn t like leathery
skin? Wow, this got off topic quickly. I like the skipper because he seems like a guy who, while
may being not the most intelligent of people, has lots of experiences and interesting stories. I
like people who have been all over the place. They seem to have a unique type of wisdom, and
wisdom is sometimes better than intellect. Finally, I really like the Skipper, according to the
description given by Chaucer. He seems like a ridiculously oversized leprechaun. He is a huge
guy, and I definitely would not like to be on his bad side. Chaucer wrote, The Miller was a chap

event which repossesses the core of human psyche. Elie Wiesel and Corrie Ten Boom are two of
these survivors who, through their personal accounts, allow the reader to glimpse empathy within

These strong survivors pose as teachers and role models by revealing strengths, weaknesses and
survival techniques. Wiesel and Ten Boom survive against the odds, but not without physical and
emotional scars.
The unsung hero and heroin pair experience tremendous suffering, but confront that affliction with
distinct contrary responses. The theme and style of Wiesel and Ten Boom reveal individual
personal beliefs and strength levels in reaction to their concentration camp experience during WWII
s Holocaust. Theme is the window which Wiesel and Ten Boom open through words and thoughts
to reveal the true purpose of their tales. Although both authors experience the grime of
concentration camp and grief of family loss, their responses to this suffering are distinct.
This distinctness is not unexpected, for as one s strengths and beliefs are personal, as is the
effect of events effecting those strengths and beliefs. Wiesel and Ten Boom state the purpose of
their self exposed stories clearly, and their purposes differ just as clearly. Wiesel stresses the
importance of applying lessons of the past to the present for the sake of the world s future. He
writes to create a feeling of such horror and catharsis within the reader to prevent the evil of the
Holocaust or any type of unjust persecution to ever occur again. He opens the reader s eyes with
vividly horrible images of human suffering and creates no barrier

A Historical, Political And Social Contextual View Of Dada
A historical, political and social contextual view of Dada
World War 1 started in 1914. It was a time of political unrest, when nobody was certain what would
become of their nations. This sprouted a number of radical movements, all looking to comprehend
and untangle the disorder that invaded the society they knew.
Preceding this was a time of increased mass production and fast technological advancements
compared to previous centuries. The Aeroplane in 1903 paved a way for advanced methods of
warfare along with the more obvious tank in the same year. Although in the 1907 Hague
Convention on Land Warfare the use of poisoned weapons or poison itself during war was
forbidden, chemical weapons themselves were not. This lead to a dramatic ... Show more content on

1996 p.91). This influenced them, any other key artists to turn to a left wing, anti war movement
that wanted to start afresh from a society that could commit, and then commit to something so
atrocious (Tate, 2014).
Dada wanted to move away from the atrocities society had come to commit by seeking a fresh
start, and creating new art to be enjoyed by the new society. This involved popularising and
creating new ways to create art, and new ways to define it. Marcel Janco, one of the founders of
the Dada movement in Zurich, considered that humanity was impossible to fix and that the only
way to improve was to destroy society and rebuild something completely new.
The true beginnings of Dada are only vaguely known. Although Hugo Ball was the one to write
the original Dada manifesto in July 1916, and Tzara was an unofficial leader, especially of
Zurich, Picabia was listed as the true beginning of the movement by Claude RiviГЁre, In his
[Picabia s] journey to the Jura in 1913, we can observe the first beginnings of what was later to be
called the Dada movement. (Richter 1997, p.11).
As a movement, Dada s origins in Zurich can be traced back to Hugo Ball, who opened Cabaret
Voltaire and recited a manifesto in 1916, a year later from the opening of the locale. Dawtrey state
in 1996 it might also be claimed Dada manifestations were no more than an inevitable product of
the disaster and dislocation of the first world war, conditions that in

Why The Earthquake Struck Chile
Have you ever felt the strongest earthquake happen? Well, the people in Chile had. An earthquake is
a sudden and violent shaking of the ground, causing great damage. The earthquake s magnitude
reached up to 9.5; a magnitude is the great size or extent of something. This earthquake was the
strongest and most powerful earthquaketo ever exist, and to be fully recorded. The quake was

Lab Report On The Heat Of Neutralization
Introduction: Every chemical change is accompanied by a change in energy usually in the form of
heat. If heat is evolved, the reaction is exothermic, and if heat is absorbed, the reaction is
endothermic. The energy change of a reaction that occurs at constant pressure is called the heat of
reaction or the enthalpyof reaction (О”Hr). This quantity of heat is measured experimentally by
allowing the reaction to occur in a calorimeter. In this experiment you will determine the heat of
neutralization when an acidand a base react to form 1 mole of water. In a perfect calorimeter, heat is
exchanged only between the reaction and the calorimeters water. Technically, some heat may may
be absorbed the calorimeter. All calorimeters exchange some heat with its environment. This
amount of heat is called the calorimeters heat capacity (the amount of of heat required to raise its
temperature 1в€ Celsius). We are going to pretend that our calorimeter is the perfect calorimeter.
Purpose: You will determine the molar heat of neutralization of 1.00 M HCL and 1.00 M NaOH in
Kilojoules.
Materials:

Procedure:
Carefully measure 75 of 1.0 M NaOH in a 100 ml graduated cylinder and pour it into the
calorimeter. Leaving the thermometer out, place the top on the calorimeter. Rinse the graduated
cylinder with some tap water. Then rinse the graduated cylinder with some about 10.0 ml of the
1.0 M HCl. Completely dry the graduated cylinder with a paper towel drying wand. Carefully
measure 6.25 ml of the 1.0 M HCl. Leaving the HCl in the graduated cylinder measure the initial
temperature of acid. 27.8в€ C Rinse the thermometer with tap water and dry. Insert the

The Education of Special Needs in
Public, Private, and Charter Schools
Jerissa R. Gregory
Liberty University
Abstract Education is important to all children, but teaching children with special needs entails the
educator to examine and assess the social, behavior, intellectual and academic deficits of the student
and devise an instructional plan that will support their excellence in these areas. Teaching in a
classroom with children who have disabilities pertains to various teaching methods that insist the
teacher individualize lessons to achieve academic excellence in students. We will examine to
special education requirements in public, private and charter schools. Many inclusion classrooms
have the necessary support which include services and accommodations to establish a learning
environment conducive to the students learning abilities. Although the education system has
become far more advanced than it was and children with disabilities have more access to supports
and services, problems still remain like they still lag behind their non disabled peers in educational
achievements, are often held to lower expectations, are less likely to take the full academic
curriculum in high school and more likely to drop out (Aron, Loprest p. 97). Early detection can

Mesopotamian Scientific Developments and Aspects The Mesopotamians pioneered several
modern day scientific principles and tools and contributed greatly to the development of future
civilizations. (3) The Mesopotamians lived in what is in and near modern day Saudi Arabia
between the rivers Tigris and Euphrates. This is what lead to their name, as Mesopotamian means
between two rivers in greek. Mesopotamia was a land of many different city states and cultures
unified for the advancement of all in Mesopotamia. These cultural differences run very deep within
the different city states of Mesopotamia, and these differences contributed heavily to the
Mesopotamians scientific advances and ironically, lead to their actual unification as a single culture
and civilization.(3) (2) (5) One of the most important developments that lead into this was the
development of story telling and writing in ancient Mesopotamia. Writing in ancient Mesopotamia
came about around 4000 B.C. and began to develop into a major cultural aspect in Mesopotamia via
the development of many stories and records. This writing was imprinted on clay tablets and other
clay based constructs throughout the existence of the civilization. Thousands of tablets and other
Mesopotamian writings were made through chiseling or rolling shapes and hieroglyphs onto the
clay tablets. Many of these tablets have been discovered in relatively good condition, allowing them

Primarily, Hillary uses the rhetorical device logos to persuade the audience of why women s
rights are important. According to paragraph 5 in her speech, she states, Women comprise more
than half the world s population, 70% of the world s poor, and two thirds of those who are not
taught to read and write. We are the primary caretakers for most of the world s children and elderly.
Yet much of the work we do is not valued not by economists, not by historians, not by popular
culture, not by government leaders. She uses statistics to show that although women do a great
amount for this world, their work isn t valued making them seem less important than their male
counterparts.
Continually, the second rhetorical device used to emphasize the importance of women s rights is
allusion. Address to the United Nations, July 2013 states, This is the compassion that I have learnt
from Muhammad the prophet of mercy, Jesus Christ and Lord Buddha. This is the legacy of change
that I have inherited from Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela and Muhammad Ali Jinnah. This is
the philosophy of nonviolence that I

Theme Of Depression In The Death Of Ivan Ilych
Depression is a mental health disorder that is very debilitating and causes one to lose interest in the
things that he once enjoyed. In the novella, The Death of Ivan Ilych by Leo Tolstoy, depression is a
key theme that developed throughout the story. Ivan Ilych, the protagonist of Tolstoy s novella, is a
character that one could infer, struggles with this disorder of the mind. Ivan died of a fatal sickness
by the end of the story, but he was never aware of his true illness. One could say that Ivan was
long dead to the world, even before he truly departed from it. In the last years of his life he became
distant, and lost in his thoughts, which such things are common when one has depression. It was not
an oddity that Ivan would often... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For they do not care about Ivan because he never cared for them. Ivan loses interest in the things
that he once enjoyed. One night when he was playing bridge with his friends he starts to feels
pain in his side and a vile taste in his mouth due to his sickness. He finds it ridiculous that he
would derive pleasure by playing a grand slam. Ivan does not care when he misplays and misses
the grand slam. When bad things happened he would start thinking about his sickness and
become fearful and sad. Ivan feels as if his life is ruined and that he is a nuisance in others life s.
For maybe the first time in Ivan Ilych s life he was not in control of his fate, and this scares him
greatly.
In Ivan s finale years he completely isolates himself from everyone. He confines himself in his
room, spending his time thinking about his unavoidable mortality. He despises people for they
don t understand his circumstance. When company was over he became angry and more
miserable while he lay in his room. He longs to be pitied and nurtured like how a sick child is.
Ivan is completely unable to take care of himself. He must face the stone, cold, truth of his inedible
mortality. Ivan hates his miserable life and those who were never there for him when he needed
them to be.
Ivan s depression was fundamentally the true cause of his demise. He was too busy worrying about
his bodily illness rather than the illness that plague his mind. But

Ciccone Case Study Essay
Ciccone has identified in chapter 16 a wide range of medications that would treat Rheumatoid
Arthritis ranging from NSAIDs, Corticosteroids to DMARDs. According to Mayo Clinic,
rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammation that not only affects the joints but other body
systems such as the lungs, the heart and even the skin (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2016). UpToDate has an
even extensive definition about the disease process. In the article, it highlighted that rheumatoid
arthritisto be a symmetric, inflammatory, peripheral polyarthritis of unknown etiology (Venables
Maini, para. 1). In fact, it has revealed that if it will be left untreated will result to severe deformity
making it more challenging to go through activities of daily living.... Show more content on

The prevalence of the disease occurs in diverse races, culture, and different age groups. Although,
it is predominantly seen during old age, older teenagers and young adults also gets affected by it.
It is a common problem with the female population against the male counterpart ( , 2014). An early
recognition of the disease will curb and control the disease process at the same time thwart any
deformities that will bring about disability to the individual. This can be accomplished through an
extensive medical history isolating the areas especially complaints of pain and swelling on the
joints. Laboratory work up is also critical to identify the specificities of the arthritis at the same time
provided targeted treatment to the classified type of rheumatoid

Hoeffler Civil War
In examining the multiple possible causes of civil wars and how to code them there has been
plenty of debate. Despite all the differences and variations in definitions of civil wars and focuses
on causes, authors Fearon, Laitin (2003), Collier and Hoeffler (2004) and Sambanis (2004) all
manage to agree that income level and population size have a significant effect on the probability a
country has on going into a civil war. Fearon and Laitin argue that what puts a country at risk of
civil waris their liability to insurgency, which is loosely defined as guerilla warfare from a small
group presumably against a government. They single out poverty, political instability, rough terrain
and large populations all as conditions that favor insurgency.... Show more content on

I d like to argue that having one definition is bad. Having several definitions allow for the coding
of many types of conflicts (small, large; long, short; deadly to militants, deadly to all; etc.) and
thus it allows for the study of many types of significant variables. I believe that having a loose
definition will allow for certain proxies to civil war to be discovered and deemed significant in
the future. I agree with Sambanis though when he pushes for transparency in the definitions of
civil wars. In some aspects of both the Fearon and Laitin article and the Collier and Hoeffler
article more context would have been helpful to some of their conclusions. Another critique for
Collier and Hoeffler is the subjectivity of some of their decisions. Specifically, at one point they
compare the concentration of the population in peace zones versus war zones, finding that in
peace zones concentration is lower by .03. It is ambiguous to say this is lower due to the data (as
an uninformed reader I d classify concentration in peace and war zones are the same base on the
numbers .57 and .60), and I m concerned what the data looks like for some of their other
conclusions and whether their conclusions actually hold up with strict guidelines. As for Fearon
and Laitin, I feel that sometimes they just accepted the previous conclusions of other academics,
without elaborating on why the agree

7 Characteristics Of Living Organisms
We examined cells from all four kingdoms of the Eukaryotes using a light microscope and found
that the cells make up all of these living organisms.
Introduction:
What are cells? Cells are the smallest living part of living organisms and are the building blocks of
life. Each individual cell has all of the nine properties of life. The first one is homeostasis, which is
the tendency of a system to maintain internal stability. For example, normal body temperature
which is 98.5В° and blood pH level should be around 7.2 at all times. The reason is primarily
because of the denaturing enzyme Pepsin, which breaks down protein in your stomach. The next
characteristic is living organisms respond to stimuli. Anything that causes a living organism to react
is called a stimulus, living organisms respond to their environment. For example, when it is hot,
receptor nerves in skin send a message to the hypothalamus which leads to the nerves which
cause sweat and open the pores as well as dilating the capillaries. Next living organisms need to
grow. Everything needs to grow in order to live, in the size of cells and/or number of cells. The
fourth characteristic is reproduction. Living organisms pass on DNA in order to reproduce. The
next characteristic is metabolism. Metabolism is all the chemical reactions involved in maintaining
the living state of the cells and the organism. The sixth characteristic is evolution, biological
evolution is passing changes in DNA from a parent to offspring

Cavalry Maiden
The Cavalry Maiden Nadezhda Durova and Her Freedom
The Cavalry Maiden, by: Nadezhda Durova and translated by Mary Fleming Zirin, is a journal
about a Russian officer in the Napoleonic Wars. Nadezhda Durova is a woman who left home at
age twenty three to join a regiment. Every since a young age Durova was interested in nature and
things that were young men interest. It is believed that this stemmed from not being loved by her
mother. She was attached to her father, who was a captain of a regiment, showed her the proper love
. When her mother did not want her, he kept her on his side and let her ride horses and played with
pistols. The women in the eighteenth century Russia had little freedom. They could only participate

Finally with her freedom came responsibility. She was responsible for taking in two young men.
My squadron commander got the fantastic notion of sending the youngest men to be orderlies,
and under this disposition the choice fell on me (93). Another responsibility Nadezhda Durova
had taken place after she had transferred regiments. She and her group of men were responsible
for getting hay. While out she decided to wander off to find her horse so she told the sergeant to
lead the men to find the hay. Stackelberg sent me for hay for the regimental horses...I charged the
sergeant to lead the detachment at a walk to the forest nearby, and myself did not so much
gallop as jolt my way as fast as I could to the village where I hoped to find our reserve horses
(149). The responsibility that young girls had in the eighteenth century was bobbin lace. From
morning to night I sat over worked which, I must confess, was the vilest imaginable because,
unlike other girls, I could not, would not, and did not want to acquire the skill...my bobbin lace
(7). Even though she had more freedom her responsibility became more challenging. Nadezhda
Durova only was able to acquire freedom because she disguised herself as a man. She would not
have never been in a regiment if did not dress and act like a man. The freedom in the eighteenth
century was unequal when it came to men and women. The men had more freedom while the
women had no freedom

  • 2. Mcfadden V. Ohio Legal Case Study In 1962, in Cleveland Ohio, an officer saw 2 gentleman that he thought to believe were committing crimes. Cleveland Police Detective McFadden saw two men, John W. Terry and Richard Chilton, standing on a street corner. Detective McFadden believed these men were acting suspiciously. He observed the them walk back and for in an identical pattern only pausing to stare into a certain stores windows and then return to the rendezvous point and converse. This happened multiple times until they were joined by Carl Katz who shared a few words with Terry and Chilton. He did not stay long, mere minutes before disappearing back into the city. They felt as though they should be able to use any means necessary to prevent crime and disable criminal activity. However, there is a huge difference in the priorities of Law Enforcement and the Judicial system. The question for the courts was does this follow the rules of evidentiary collection and was the search performed according to the law? The court decided it was not. The allowance of letting the police department to make the standards as they go along and to perform their duties by any means necessary could be problematic. Police brutality, harassment, and other types of inappropriate behaviors could result from giving an officer a blank check for search and seizures. It also contributes to an all powerful mentality that leads these people to believe that they are untouchable. Both members of the public as well as the police force itself must have rules and standards to protect people on all sides. This ideology allows people to feel comfortable in their jobs and in their lives. Everyone needs a societal norm that is accepted as commonplace for these situations. • 5. Reading Of An Extract From The Cuckoo Clock Close Reading of an Extract From The Cuckoo Clock Mrs. Molesworth s The Cuckoo Clock was originally published in 1877. During this point in history, children s literature typically focused on the instruction of children. Children were seen as blank slates upon which adults carved moral values. Many authors, Mrs. Molesworth s included, incorporated these moralvalues into easy to digest and entertaining narratives. This extract from The Cuckoo Clock, titled Obeying Orders , combines didacticism with elements of fantasy that capture the imaginations of its intended child audience. While the tale centers around a magical cuckoo clock, it never fails especially with the narrator s assistance to remind children of the lessons they must learn in order to grow into proper adults. The narrator in The Cuckoo Clock speaks in a loving, yet educative manner, like an aunty imparting words of wisdom to her young nieces and nephews. On page 45, when the narrator first directly enters the narrative, she says, For fairies, you know, children, however charming, are sometimes rather queer to have to do with. This sentence alone suggests many things about the narrator. When she addresses her intended audience, children, directly, she encourages them to participate in the story being told; one can imagine a group of children nodding their heads along in agreement. She also appeals to their intelligence by implying that they are already familiar with the information she is about to impart, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Example Of Complication In Antigone Antigone Life has a way of becoming complicated. Problems between friends, foes, and even family members develop everyday for people of all walks of life. It is part of human nature to disagree, cause conflict and fight for what we believe in even if that means stepping on someone else s toes along the way. Aristotle had thoughts on complication dating back to 335 B.C when he wrote Poetics the earliest surviving work of dramatic theory. In it he analyzed tragedies and theorized that every tragedyfalls into two parts complication and unraveling or denouncement. Sophoclesstated, By complication I mean all that extends from the beginning of the action to the part which marks the turning point to good or bad fortune. The Unraveling is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His son Creon calls him out on his poor judgment when he yells, You have not respect at all if you trample on the rights of the gods (161). Creon believes his laws are the correct way of ruling, which ultimately leads to his downfall. If he had taken a moment to be more open minded he may have realized that he could not triumph over the gods and that eventually this complication would unravel for the worse. Antigone s complications begin to unravel as she becomes more open minded towards the end of the play. Although she never states that she was in the wrong for going against the king s wishes, she does begin to show remorse as her death is fast approaching. The fear of her impending death is what made her realize that there is a chance that she could have been in the wrong for burying Polyneices. As she is about to be locked in her stone tomb she cries, Very well: if this is the pleasure of the gods, once I suffer I will know that I was wrong (164). This is the first time we see Antigone waver from her strong headed ideals and intense loyalty that led her to going against the king s decree. We see her situation continue to unravel as she loses composure and begins feeling sorry for herself when she states, Now he has taken me by force, he is driving me down unmarried. I ve had no man, no wedding celebration, shared nothing with a husband, never raised a child (164). This is a side of Antigone that has not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Apollo 11 Persuasive Essay It was a long anticipated summer night, when millions of Americans crowded around their bulky television screens. It was 1969, America had recently passed through the height of the Cold War, but their relationship with the Soviet Union continued to become more hostile. There was no clear winner in sight, and America was desperate for a definitive victory, it was this moment, in this very moment that they finally had one, and they clung to it. This moment was, of course, the Apollo 11 moonlanding on the 20th of July, 1969. However, as with many famous events captured in the public eye, it wasn t long before conspiracies began to unfold. Some began to question the validity of the photographs and videos associated with the moon landings, others made claims that the government couldn t possibly have had the technology necessary to successfully land on the moon, and some even went as far as to point out the exact set and director that supposedly filmed the hoaxed moon landings. I first became aware of the conspiracy surrounding the moon landings about two years ago when I watched a documentary on the topic and naturally, being the patriotic American that I am, I sided with NASA without considering any evidence on either side of the argument, but recently, the topic was brought up in conversation and it stuck an interest within me. So in this essay I will throw my preconceived notions out the metaphorical window, and I will attempt an unbiased investigation to find out where my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Horrifying World Forster Creates in The Machine Stops... The Horrifying World Forster Creates in The Machine Stops In The Machine Stops Forster creates a world set in the future, where machines rule. In fact, machines run life so much so that human beings, by this time, have adapted accordingly to life and the lifestyle it brings. In the arm chair there sits a swaddled lump of flesh a woman, about five feet high, with a face as white as a fungus, Forster writes. This is a pretty horrific description because it shows us that in the world Forster has created, people get no exercise whatsoever. There is in fact no need to get any exercise with the life the humans lead under the control of The Machine . Infants [are] examined at birth, and all who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Life then cannot go on! It is often perceived that life is better and easier with machines but it is eerie to think of what will happen without them, as they are the ones that actually truly have the control. Again, it is often thought that with the machines man is able to control everything, but what if in truth The Machine is actually reactionary to society and civilization? Life then becomes less secure than we care to believe. So changes in lifestyle indeed have occurred, and the main one being that people basically need not ever to leave the comfort of their own home! Video telephone calls are available, so it is possible to call people and see them visually during the conversation but therefore, in this world Forster has created, no one really ever sees anyone face to face, up close and personal. This seems negligible though, but it actually leads onto much greater consequences. People in this world are now haunted by the terrors of direct experience and direct experiences are things that are simply bound to happen sometime in life! However, now people have grown unaccustomed to it, so even a simple handshake is considered as shockingly barbaric. People never touched one another, Forster writes. Human beings are no longer used to seeing expressions on people s faces, as they simply do not require to go out of their homes and make acquaintances. They ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Women have been belittled in almost every industry in comparison to males. The numbers are there, and there is no argument against it, women have made and do make less. Quite frankly, it s ridiculous that in this day and age that we have advanced to, we still see women as less superior and deserving of less pay. the average wage for women is seventy seven cents to the dollar that a man makes for the exact same job. Women have a small place in the film industry. Well, let me clarify, a VERY small place in the industry. The biggest role they have is in producing, which is getting a script, director, and team (this is the job for the people with enough money to sponsor a big part of the creation). It has little to do in the actual creation of the movie. They make up only twenty five percent in film. That means that men, make up seventy five percent, but that s only the beginning. five men work in the industry for every one woman, and women only make up fifteen percent of all the writing done for movies. Even worse, for the job of directing, women make up a miniscule nine percent in comparison to the ninety one that men take up, but one more thing. Cinematographers, the people that film the movie and make it immersive for us, is the worst place for women. They make, only two percent in the entire industry, meaning that the rest is made up of men. this stereotype of men being better than women at their jobs, whether it be directing, editing, filming is based on no true information but rather a stigma of women in the workplace. Compressive strength of Portland cement is developed through hydration. Hydration is chemical reaction between water and cement compound. The rheology and early strength of cement is developed from reaction of aluminate compound at the beginning of hydration. Rate of hydration can be control by adding gypsum. It is for preventing the premature hardening of cement. Gypsum will react with aluminate and hydroxyl ion to form ettrigate. Ettrigate will prevent hydration process by forming needle shaped crystal on the aluminate and creating induction period [11]. Some addictive can be added to the cement to enhance the properties of cement. There are accelerator, retarder, extender, weighting agent, dispersant, fluid loss control agent and loss circulation agent [11]. AcceleratorUse to speed up the early stages of hydration. • 21. What Is The Tone Of The Girl By Jamaica Kincaid The Girl is a poem that was written by Jamaica Kincaid. The poem depicts a mother instructing her daughter of what to do, and how to do it. As stated in the poem the child was being instructed on how to buy cotton which shows that the person receiving the instruction is a girl, buying cotton to make a nice blouse, shows females attributes and qualities. As quoted, iron your father s khaki shirt so that it doesn t have a crease, shows that it is a motherspeaking. The tone of the poem is one of denial, because of the instructionin which the mother was giving to the daughter. As stated, always eat your food... turn someone else s stomach; and tone is throughout the poem. The instructive lessons that are outlined in the text for example, how to wash the clothes, how to smile at someone you like, and how to set the table. Shows that the girl does not know how to do things in the right way or what is pleasing to the mother s approval. In Girl the mother is trying to teach the daughter manners including how to smile to people even if you do not like that person and how to set the table. Ohio (1961)In May of 1957, in a Cleveland, Ohio suburb, a woman named Dollree Mapp found herself at the center of an unprecedented legal battle over civil liberties. Mapp, who was no stranger to the Cleveland Police Department, ran a boarding house and was involved with illegal gambling. Working off an anonyms tip, the Cleveland police showed up at Mapp s house to look for a suspect in a local bombing case. They believed, along with the suspect, they would find illegal gambling equipment. Upon their arrival, Mapp refused to let the officers into her home because they did not possess a search warrant. At the urging of her attorney, Mapp appealed her conviction on the grounds that her First Amendment right had been violated. Her argument was that she was well within her rights to have been in the possession of the explicit material found during the search of her home. Interestingly enough, when her case went before the Supreme Court it was not the First Amendment that was addressed, but the Fourth Amendment. The argument supporting Mapp highlighted the fact that a search warrant was never produced at her original trial, so evidence against her should not have been used. Due to the fact that the evidence was seized illegally by the police without a warrant, the police violated her Fourth Amendment right. The Constitutional issue surrounding the case of Mapp v. Ohio involves the Fourth Amendment (Amendment IV) Search and Seizure. Amendment IV was passed by Congress on September 25, 1789 and ratified on December 15, 1791. • 23. The Fascination Of Murder, By Scott Bonn Essay For centuries, murder cases have captivated the lives of individuals. From news station broadcastings to the media creating films and documentaries, homicide cases have gained the interest and popularity of many individuals. This begs the question as to what lies in the fascination of murder? The basis of this can be found in the psychological state of individuals including, the experience of thrill, curiosity, the need for answers, and fear. When an individual becomes fascinated with murder, they may be drawn in by a certain rush or thrilling experience. This experience is similar to that of a whodunit , a novel, play, or movie in which the murderer is not revealed until the very end (Merriam Webster, n.d.). In both circumstances, individuals are captivated by tension and uncertainty. Along with this, Scott Bonn, a criminology professor at Drew University, states that The euphoric effect of true crime on human emotions is similar to that of roller coasters...and allows individuals to experience fear and horror in a controlled environment (Bonn, 2016). A prime example of this includes the infamous murders committed by Jack the Ripper. In 1888, five women were brutally murdered by a man who went by the name of Jack the Ripper . During the time of these killings, serial murder became a new phenomenon that was highly publicized (Top 10 Unsolved Crimes, n.d.). • 24. Socioeconomic Status And Mental Health Essay Enormous amounts of research have linked socioeconomic status to mental health, especially in children and adolescents. Low poverty levels have been specifically identified as a key causal factor in developing mental health problems in children. There has been much discussion over the different theories as to why this is the case, but only two of these theories seem to hold a lot of evidence. Certain interventions and preventative measures can be employed in order to improve an individual s mental health by altering socioeconomic status and they have proven to be successful. Low socioeconomic status has a profound impact on mental health in children; however, if the appropriate interventions and preventative measures are used, mental health outcomes can be drastically improved. Socioeconomic status is a complex construct that is based on household income, material resources, education, and occupation, as well as related neighborhood and family characteristics, such as exposure to violence and toxins, parental care and provision of a cognitively stimulating environment. (Hackman et Al, 2010) Research has shown that low socioeconomic status has a huge impact on mental health in children and adolescents, primarily due to the associated stress and effects related to poverty. There are three primary factors or levels through which poverty affects children/adolescents: individual, relational, and institutional. The first of these levels, individual factors, are the factors ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A lot of artist from around the world visit Britain for it s thick culture in the world of art and opportunities. Almost all Minority art made in Britain falls into one of the two baskets, either it is created by an artist from an African American/ Caribbean origin, or by the common people of the Indian sub continental background. Despite of the attempts made to accumulate these two inconsequential groups together, in order to promote, what Britain still identifies as Black art , what they bring to the world of art is radically divergent, mostly because of their origin s personal crisis as well as due to their history of struggle.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Otherness in the field of art in some regions is not being identified and appreciated as it should be. Fixity has now become a way of practicing culture, where racial differences in the discourse of colonialism, is a incongruous methodology of representation. Fixity gives a feeling of firmness and an unchanging order as well as disorder, immortality and daemonic repetition of racism in art naturally. Similarly, the racial and gender stereotype, that is reflected in the way of art and it s analysis, is a major rambling blueprint, in the manifestation of identification as well as of consciousness, that wavers between different opinions of what is conscientiously being repeated, always in a fixed state and something that has already been known for a long period of time. Therefore, it is the force of ambivalence that gives racial stereotype it s prevalence, and that shield s it s repeatability in changing historical events and in it s wandering case. Art is known to be region based, but a lot of artist now prefer going to a different nation and grasp a different technique and skills. It was a time of political unrest, when nobody was certain what would become of their nations. This sprouted a number of radical movements, all looking to comprehend and untangle the disorder that invaded the society they knew. Preceding this was a time of increased mass production and fast technological advancements compared to previous centuries. The Aeroplane in 1903 paved a way for advanced methods of warfare along with the more obvious tank in the same year. Dada wanted to move away from the atrocities society had come to commit by seeking a fresh start, and creating new art to be enjoyed by the new society. This involved popularising and creating new ways to create art, and new ways to define it. Marcel Janco, one of the founders of the Dada movement in Zurich, considered that humanity was impossible to fix and that the only way to improve was to destroy society and rebuild something completely new. • 38. Lab Report On The Heat Of Neutralization Introduction: Every chemical change is accompanied by a change in energy usually in the form of heat. If heat is evolved, the reaction is exothermic, and if heat is absorbed, the reaction is endothermic. The energy change of a reaction that occurs at constant pressure is called the heat of reaction or the enthalpyof reaction (О”Hr). This quantity of heat is measured experimentally by allowing the reaction to occur in a calorimeter. In this experiment you will determine the heat of neutralization when an acidand a base react to form 1 mole of water. In a perfect calorimeter, heat is exchanged only between the reaction and the calorimeters water. Technically, some heat may may be absorbed the calorimeter. All calorimeters exchange some heat with its environment. This amount of heat is called the calorimeters heat capacity (the amount of of heat required to raise its temperature 1в€ Celsius). Gregory Liberty University Abstract Education is important to all children, but teaching children with special needs entails the educator to examine and assess the social, behavior, intellectual and academic deficits of the student and devise an instructional plan that will support their excellence in these areas. Teaching in a classroom with children who have disabilities pertains to various teaching methods that insist the teacher individualize lessons to achieve academic excellence in students. We will examine to special education requirements in public, private and charter schools. Many inclusion classrooms have the necessary support which include services and accommodations to establish a learning environment conducive to the students learning abilities. Although the education system has become far more advanced than it was and children with disabilities have more access to supports and services, problems still remain like they still lag behind their non disabled peers in educational achievements, are often held to lower expectations, are less likely to take the full academic curriculum in high school and more likely to drop out (Aron, Loprest p. 97). Early detection can help prevent secondary disabilities and detect early disabilities and allow for the proper intervention strategies to be in place. Early detection can redirect some of the ... • 40. Mesopotamian Scientific Developments And Aspects Sterling 9/24/14 Miss Laura History Mesopotamian Scientific Developments and Aspects The Mesopotamians pioneered several modern day scientific principles and tools and contributed greatly to the development of future civilizations. (3) The Mesopotamians lived in what is in and near modern day Saudi Arabia between the rivers Tigris and Euphrates. This is what lead to their name, as Mesopotamian means between two rivers in greek. Mesopotamia was a land of many different city states and cultures unified for the advancement of all in Mesopotamia. These cultural differences run very deep within the different city states of Mesopotamia, and these differences contributed heavily to the Mesopotamians scientific advances and ironically, lead to their actual unification as a single culture and civilization.(3) (2) (5) One of the most important developments that lead into this was the development of story telling and writing in ancient Mesopotamia. Writing in ancient Mesopotamia came about around 4000 B.C. and began to develop into a major cultural aspect in Mesopotamia via the development of many stories and records. This writing was imprinted on clay tablets and other clay based constructs throughout the existence of the civilization. Thousands of tablets and other Mesopotamian writings were made through chiseling or rolling shapes and hieroglyphs onto the clay tablets. Many of these tablets have been discovered in relatively good condition, allowing them to be translated and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Rhetorical Devices Women s rights is an issue that needed to be rectified. Malala Yousafzai and Hillary Clinton use rhetorical devices such as logos, allusion, and repetition in their speeches. Address to the United Nations, July 2013 and Excerpts from speech given for the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women, 1995 are the speeches used to stress the importance of women and their rights. Primarily, Hillary uses the rhetorical device logos to persuade the audience of why women s rights are important. According to paragraph 5 in her speech, she states, Women comprise more than half the world s population, 70% of the world s poor, and two thirds of those who are not taught to read and write. We are the primary caretakers for most of the world s children and elderly. Yet much of the work we do is not valued not by economists, not by historians, not by popular culture, not by government leaders. She uses statistics to show that although women do a great amount for this world, their work isn t valued making them seem less important than their male counterparts. Continually, the second rhetorical device used to emphasize the importance of women s rights is allusion. Address to the United Nations, July 2013 states, This is the compassion that I have learnt from Muhammad the prophet of mercy, Jesus Christ and Lord Buddha. This is the legacy of change that I have inherited from Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela and Muhammad Ali Jinnah. This is the philosophy of nonviolence that I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ivan Ilych, the protagonist of Tolstoy s novella, is a character that one could infer, struggles with this disorder of the mind. • 44. Ciccone Case Study Essay Ciccone has identified in chapter 16 a wide range of medications that would treat Rheumatoid Arthritis ranging from NSAIDs, Corticosteroids to DMARDs. According to Mayo Clinic, rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammation that not only affects the joints but other body systems such as the lungs, the heart and even the skin (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2016). UpToDate has an even extensive definition about the disease process. In the article, it highlighted that rheumatoid arthritisto be a symmetric, inflammatory, peripheral polyarthritis of unknown etiology (Venables Maini, para. 1). In fact, it has revealed that if it will be left untreated will result to severe deformity making it more challenging to go through activities of daily living.... An early recognition of the disease will curb and control the disease process at the same time thwart any deformities that will bring about disability to the individual. This can be accomplished through an extensive medical history isolating the areas especially complaints of pain and swelling on the joints. • 45. Hoeffler Civil War In examining the multiple possible causes of civil wars and how to code them there has been plenty of debate. Despite all the differences and variations in definitions of civil wars and focuses on causes, authors Fearon, Laitin (2003), Collier and Hoeffler (2004) and Sambanis (2004) all manage to agree that income level and population size have a significant effect on the probability a country has on going into a civil war. Fearon and Laitin argue that what puts a country at risk of civil waris their liability to insurgency, which is loosely defined as guerilla warfare from a small group presumably against a government. They single out poverty, political instability, rough terrain and large populations all as conditions that favor insurgency.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I d like to argue that having one definition is bad. Having several definitions allow for the coding of many types of conflicts (small, large; long, short; deadly to militants, deadly to all; etc.) and thus it allows for the study of many types of significant variables. I believe that having a loose definition will allow for certain proxies to civil war to be discovered and deemed significant in the future. I agree with Sambanis though when he pushes for transparency in the definitions of civil wars. In some aspects of both the Fearon and Laitin article and the Collier and Hoeffler article more context would have been helpful to some of their conclusions. Another critique for Collier and Hoeffler is the subjectivity of some of their decisions. Specifically, at one point they compare the concentration of the population in peace zones versus war zones, finding that in peace zones concentration is lower by .03. It is ambiguous to say this is lower due to the data (as an uninformed reader I d classify concentration in peace and war zones are the same base on the numbers .57 and .60), and I m concerned what the data looks like for some of their other conclusions and whether their conclusions actually hold up with strict guidelines. As for Fearon and Laitin, I feel that sometimes they just accepted the previous conclusions of other academics, without elaborating on why the agree ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. 7 Characteristics Of Living Organisms We examined cells from all four kingdoms of the Eukaryotes using a light microscope and found that the cells make up all of these living organisms. Introduction: What are cells? Cells are the smallest living part of living organisms and are the building blocks of life. Each individual cell has all of the nine properties of life. The first one is homeostasis, which is the tendency of a system to maintain internal stability. For example, normal body temperature which is 98.5В° and blood pH level should be around 7.2 at all times. The reason is primarily because of the denaturing enzyme Pepsin, which breaks down protein in your stomach. The next characteristic is living organisms respond to stimuli. Anything that causes a living organism to react is called a stimulus, living organisms respond to their environment. For example, when it is hot, receptor nerves in skin send a message to the hypothalamus which leads to the nerves which cause sweat and open the pores as well as dilating the capillaries. Next living organisms need to grow. Everything needs to grow in order to live, in the size of cells and/or number of cells. The fourth characteristic is reproduction. Living organisms pass on DNA in order to reproduce. The next characteristic is metabolism. Metabolism is all the chemical reactions involved in maintaining the living state of the cells and the organism. The sixth characteristic is evolution, biological evolution is passing changes in DNA from a parent to offspring ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Cavalry Maiden The Cavalry Maiden Nadezhda Durova and Her Freedom The Cavalry Maiden, by: Nadezhda Durova and translated by Mary Fleming Zirin, is a journal about a Russian officer in the Napoleonic Wars. Nadezhda Durova is a woman who left home at age twenty three to join a regiment. Every since a young age Durova was interested in nature and things that were young men interest. It is believed that this stemmed from not being loved by her mother. She was attached to her father, who was a captain of a regiment, showed her the proper love . When her mother did not want her, he kept her on his side and let her ride horses and played with pistols. The women in the eighteenth century Russia had little freedom. They could only participate in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Finally with her freedom came responsibility. She was responsible for taking in two young men. My squadron commander got the fantastic notion of sending the youngest men to be orderlies, and under this disposition the choice fell on me (93). Another responsibility Nadezhda Durova had taken place after she had transferred regiments. She and her group of men were responsible for getting hay. While out she decided to wander off to find her horse so she told the sergeant to lead the men to find the hay. Stackelberg sent me for hay for the regimental horses...I charged the sergeant to lead the detachment at a walk to the forest nearby, and myself did not so much gallop as jolt my way as fast as I could to the village where I hoped to find our reserve horses (149). The responsibility that young girls had in the eighteenth century was bobbin lace. From morning to night I sat over worked which, I must confess, was the vilest imaginable because, unlike other girls, I could not, would not, and did not want to acquire the skill...my bobbin lace (7). Even though she had more freedom her responsibility became more challenging. Nadezhda Durova only was able to acquire freedom because she disguised herself as a man. She would not have never been in a regiment if did not dress and act like a man. The freedom in the eighteenth century was unequal when it came to men and women. The men had more freedom while the women had no freedom ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
