Health & Wellness Themes of the Month are focused on raising awareness about important health topics. The different dimensions of health play a key role in how we thrive and succeed not only in our personal lives, but within our job and career. These themes help create a healthy balance between those dimensions and foster healthy conversation as an organization about how we can improve our quality of life from one day to the next. When we are aware of these dimensions, we can assist in raising awareness to those we serve in helping them to improve their own quality of life. A few topics we cover include: Connecting with nature, STEPtember, diabetes, hydration, de-cluttering and organizing your life, and of course having fun, just to name a few.

Natural Language processing in the digital age & the impact on relationships ...Salema Veliu
This was part of a workshop presentation l did a couple of years back for Flight Centre UK looking at language in the workplace and the impact on performance and leadership. It's been interesting to see recent to see the views on 'SlideShare' of this work. 'Psycholinguistics' has always been a huge part of my Uni studies and my work. It's helped to understand 1. How we process and 2. What we can learn from the language we use and how that in turn can interfere with behaviours. Demonstrated by the modality of Related Frame Theory which is a powerful tool in decoding behaviours, and habits human habits from speech around machine/technology referred to as (Psychotechnology). Just to be absolutely clear I’m not talking about Neuro Linguistic programming. But Natural Language Processing which is a branch of AI that looks at the interaction between computers and humans using natural language. I believe there are cross functional connections that we can use to enhance the learning elements of machine learning

14. Investing in yourself physically, mentally, emotionally and
financially will enable you to become the best version of
yourself. When you are being the best version of yourself, you
will be an attraction magnet for others.
15.
16. How to invest In Yourself …
You must love yourself first before expecting others to do so; investing
in yourself is an example of self-love.
• Read Books or eBooks
It inspires your imagination, increases your knowledge, improves your
vocabulary, helps to relax
and assist you in solving many problems.
• Stay in Touch with Family and Friends
Family and friends have a great role in your life and it pays to stay in
touch with them and spend
your time with them.
• Learn Something New
To get success in your life and utilize your time you should always be
learning a new skill.
17. • Set Goals
It provides you a clear vision and helps how to utilize your time
• Meditate and Practice Mindfulness
It helps to reduce your stress, improve your concentration, raise
your self-awareness, make you healthier, and improve your
acceptance of others.
• Make a Routine
With a proper routine, you can do great things with fewer efforts.
• Measure Results
Goal-setting is a destination and planning is equivalent to deciding
the route and how to reach your destination.
• Engage in Creative Activities
To engage yourself in creative activity is a good way to invest in you.
18. • Get Rid of Toxic Friends
Be discriminate when choosing your friends and get rid of the ones who are
negative, problem-laden, unmotivated, and who do not care about bettering
themselves.
• Find a Mentor
If you are serious about investing in yourself and your future, find someone to
mentor you, especially in a field you want to excel in.
• Practice Gratitude
Practicing gratitude reduces aggressive tendencies, promotes better sleep,
greatly improves physical and psychological health, helps cultivate better
relationships, and makes you happier.
• Eat Healthier
Our brain is our garden, the roots are nurtured by the food we eat.
• Challenge Yourself and Do Things That Are Difficult
View discomfort as your friend because it means that you are venturing outside
of your comfort zone.
19. Investing in yourself provides a great return on investment, in a
myriad of ways.
02. Mental Investment
20. According to Michigan State University –
and countless other scientific and
academic sources – daily exercise has
been linked to more energy, more
productivity, reduced stress, improved
brain power, better memory, and even
increased creativity.
It is the best way to maintain a healthy
weight, improve your mood, ward off
disease, combat mental health
conditions such as anxiety and
depression, and improve your focus.
Exercise Regularly
21. Set Goals
You may love them or hate them,
but the truth is that setting goals
will help you accomplish more.
Goals help clarify what you want.
Instead of having a vague dream
or occasional wishful thinking,
setting a goal helps uncover what
you truly want.
22. Strengthen Your Current
Skills
No matter what you do, you already have
and use a wide range of skills in your
career and your life. But are you
considered an “expert” in the skills or
areas you rely on most? Probably not.
Skills such as strong communication,
leadership, team building,
negotiating, business writing, and public
speaking are valuable in a wide variety of
different fields.
23. Learn a New Skill
Getting more organized, or learning how
to manage your time better, can help you get
more done during the day.
Learning public speaking skills can make you a
more effective presenter when you are
pitching ideas to your boss.
Other skills such as home repair, self-defense,
gourmet cooking, playing a musical
instrument, or learning to code may or may
not affect your career, but they can add more
meaning to your life and lead to greater
overall satisfaction.
24. Attend Seminars & Workshops
Seminars, conferences, and workshops
are excellent opportunities for investing
in yourself for a few reasons.
First, these events help expand your
knowledge in an area or field you’re
already familiar with. Advancing your
knowledge and skills can help you build
expert status and make you more
effective and productive in your current
role.
25. Keep a Journal
According to the University of
Rochester Medical Center, daily
journaling can help you:
• Manage anxiety
• Reduce stress
• Cope with depression
• Prioritize problems and cope
with fears
• Better identify negative
thoughts and behaviors
26. Break Your Bad Habits
You might bite your nails, spend too much
time on your phone, watch too much TV, or
obsess over your worries at night. Only you
know what your bad habits are.
They are the negative behavior patterns
that hurt your physical, emotional, or social
well-being. And if you are like most people,
you have a long list of things you would like
to stop doing.
27. Read
Reading also keeps your brain healthy because it
helps forge new pathways in all four areas of the
brain.
According to ABC News, it might even reduce
your risk of Alzheimer’s Disease.
Reading books is better for your brain than
reading newspapers or magazines because it
forces you to use critical thinking skills and make
connections from one chapter to the next.
Instead of watching TV or scrolling on your phone
when you have some free time, force yourself to
read for at least 30 minutes first.
28. Find a Creative Outlet
Many people think they are not creative
because they can not draw a portrait or write a
piece of music.
However, that is a very narrow way to look at
creativity. Humans are, by nature, creative
beings. Everyone, including you, is creative in
some way.
At heart, creativity is about solving problems or
giving people a new way to look at an old or
established idea.
29. Investing in yourself physically, mentally, emotionally and
financially will enable you to become the best version of
yourself. When you are being the best version of yourself, you
will be an attraction magnet for others.
30. The World Is Yours!
Investing in yourself is the
best investment you will
ever make. It will not only
improve your life, it will
improve the lives of all
those around you.
31. Final Word
Investing in yourself means making small, continual improvements that enable you to do
more, be more, grow more, and love more.
These little improvements can lead to immediate opportunities and long-term positive
change.
They can help you earn more money, discover the career you always wanted, follow your
dreams, and uncover hobbies that fill you with joy. They will improve your health and
relationships and make you a more interesting person.
So, how do you want to invest in yourself?
