Aileen Wuornos Essay
Aileen Carol Wuornos: The Life of a Serial Killer I robbed them, and I killed them as cold as ice,
and I would do it again, and I know I would kill another person because I ve hated humans for a
long time. (Wuornos, 1999 2010) These words came from Aileen Wuornos after she was arrested
for the murders of seven men during the course of a year. She faced numerous adversities from
early childhood through adulthood. She displayed many psychological warning signs, but none was
attended too regardless of her outcries. The course of this paper will outline her upbringing, lifestyle
choice, psychological warning signs, psychological disorders, course of treatment that could have
been undertaken before the killing spree commenced. To... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They found themselves on the street again and Aileen began earning a living by prostituting
herself for money. Overall, her lifestyle only escalated as she hitchhiked in Michigan where she
grew up and participated in drinking, drugs, partying and prostitution. She decided that she
would leave and hitchhike her way on up to Colorado where she continued the same lifestyle. In
the midst of the horrible, unethical lifestyle, she was informed that her grandfather had
committed suicide in his garage. I can only speculate that she felt alone in the world and needed
to fill that void. So as she was Hitchhiking across America, Wuornos arrived in Florida and was
presented with a potentially life changing piece of luck: she met wealthy yacht club president,
69 year old Lewis Fell, who fell in love with her, and they were married in 1976. Wuornos soon
reverted to type, however, and began fighting in bars, and was sent to jail for assault as a result.
Fell was horrified; a brawling bride had no place in his high society lifestyle, and he had the
marriage annulled after a few months. (Aileen Wuornos, 2008) Additionally, Aileen also received
word that her brother Keith had passed due to throat cancer. She was not only devastated, but also
alone in the world since he was the only loyal person by her side. As she had done in the past, she
resorted back to her heavy drinking and life of prostitution. Aileen received ten thousand dollars
from her bothers

Intramuscular Injections
For a medication to be delivered in a safe and appropriate manner, nurses must be able to identify
and select the suitable site of an injection. When assessing suitable sites to administer an
intramuscular injection, multiple factors must be taken into consideration. With an excess of 12
billion injections given annually across the world (Nicoll Hesby, 2002), the risks of unsafe
practices are guaranteed to be increasing as the need for injections increases. This essay critically
examines the sites that injections are delivered and identifies the best site regarding IMI
(intramuscular injections).
With the need for more injections to be delivered to patients for a range of symptoms and illnesses,
the need for nurses that are adequately trained ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Evidence suggests that there are less risks associated to the Ventrogluteal region compared to
other IM sites on the body. With the sciatic nerve and multiple major blood and nerve vessels
being present in the dorsogluteal muscle, the risk of these vessels getting damaged is at increased
risk (Ogsten Tuck, 2014). Historically nurses have administered IM injections into the
Dorsogluteal site, or as it is better known as the upper outer quadrant. This site poses an increased
quantity of unacceptable risks linked to injury s suffered as a result of a harmful injection
(Zimmermann, 2010). Therefore the Ventrogluteal muscle should be used wherever possible. This
muscle boasts the largest thickness relating to muscle in the gluteal region. Unlike the Dorsogluteal
muscle, the Ventrogluteal lacks major blood and nerve vessel, consequently reducing the risk of
complications of injury. This muscle is also able to absorb larger volumes of substances at a faster
rate (Government of Western Australia, 2014). In relation to Mrs Jones s case, the best possible
muscle to give an intramuscular injection to would be the Ventrogluteal muscle. The risk associated
with the dorsogluteal muscle are far greater compared to the Ventrogluteal. A nurse would shape the
way in which they administer a medication their patient. Taking into consideration all Mrs Jones s
requirements, a nurse would identify that they were able to administer into the Ventrogluteal and
they should be able to do this in a manner that has no or minimal risk to their

Summary Of Freakonomics Chapter 2
In chapter 2 of Freakonomics the main argument is that the absence of information can be used for
personal gain. The main example used to display this tactic is when the KKK is compared to real
estate agents. Although the crafty practice of real estate agents is in no way similar to the horrors
of the KKK, they have a distinct similarity when it comes to the hoarding of information. The
majority of the chapter focuses on the history of the KKK and Stetson Kennedy s effort to stop it
through the infiltration and exposure via radio of the Klan. Since the Klan was dependant on their
violent despite not being extremely violent reputation, the disclosure of the information they had
withheld from the public rendered them powerless. The narrators

What Is The History Of Jews In America
The History of Jews in the United States of America.
Why and when did they migrate?
The history of Jews in the United States of America is a long and arduous one. This relationship
began in the first week of September 1654, when 23 Jewish immigrants landed at New
Amsterdam, the Dutch colony ( Now known as Manhattan), and was immediacy ask to leave by
the then governor Peter Stuyvesant, for as he said they should not be allowed to infest the new
colony,(Schappes 9). The Jews immigrants refused and was later granted permission by the Dutch
West India Company to stay , travel and trade. However, the major migration of Jews to the United
States of America took place in three waves mainly known as the German period of

This was made worst by the oppressive rule of political tyrants and the defeat of the revolution in
1848. (Schnapps 65).
The second wave, the Eastern Europe migration took place (1881 1924),this saw many Jews
migrating from Russia and its territories due to the political persecution that they received after
the assassination of, Czar Alexander II In 1881 for which the Jews were blamed , This lead to the
deterioration of living and working conditions for the Jews. Following the assassination, mass
rebellions broke out and the situation in Russia became anarchic and chaotic for everyone.
Pogroms broke out everywhere, mainly in the form of looting; some murders and rapes were also
committed. Decades of persecution against the Jewish population followed. This upheaval of anti
Semitism coupled with deplorable economic conditions was the reason 2 millions of Jews from
Eastern Europe came to the USA
In addition laws were passed that punished the Jews for the pogroms. This led to restrictions on
Jewish landownership, prohibited Jews from living in villages, and the number of Jews studying
in secular schools was limited to 10% in the Pale of Settlement and 3 5% everywhere else. These
laws were strictly applied by the police, which lead to the Jews being embittered to the Russian
society. Subsequently In 1891, Jews were systemically expelled from Moscow in 1891
The third wave of Jewish migration took place during (1945 60)

Nonverbal Communication And Non Verbal Communication
Non verbal communication is especially significant in intercultural situations (Businesscom, 2015).
In a business setting duties performed are the main reasons for an employees success, though
studies and reports show that nonverbal communications can hinder or excel an employees
relationships. Ultimately, nonverbal communications can benefit a business. With the
communicationof nonverbal there are many forms that help to read body language and true
feelings including: adapters, a body movement, as well as eye contact (Krauss, Chen, Chawla,
1996). These examples are just a few of several hundreds non verbal communications (Hawk,
Fischer, Van Kleef, 2012; Snider, 2012). Not only does nonverbal communication
play a role in

percentage, of the total message (Vintean, 2007). Visual clues also play a large role in nonverbal
communication. Nonverbal communication has been a long time institute and is rooted from
primal instincts (Hecht Ambady, 1999). To prove the positive role that nonverbal communication
plays in business the following writing will show various nonverbal and how they work.

Frequent Flyer Research Paper
Frequent flyer programs benefit plans are intended for those who travel regularly by the same
carrier or group of partner airlines, as a reward for their loyalty as customers. If you are
associated with a frequent flyer program you will receive miles with each flight you make. Miles
accrued have a value in itself, and will accumulate in your frequent flyer account. Miles can not be
transferred from one account to another frequent traveler. Therefore, it is advisable to participate
in one frequent flyer program for alliance, so to centralize in one account all miles earned to travel
on each airlinegroup and not scatter your miles in different programs.
But how really are frequent flyer programs work? With frequent flyer programs, airlines seek to
increase customer loyalty, managing to be the main option for your trip. In turn, customers benefit

earned a lot of miles is also putting you in some sort of a pedigree that only the affluent would be
able to understand. The more miles you have accumulated, the more rewards you will.
Some airlines have levels such as silver, gold and platinum to indicate the status of the most
active frequent travelers. In this way, you will become part of the elite group where you can

Towers Watson Performance Management Analysis Essay
New research from Towers Watson s Performance Management Pulse Survey 2015 has confirmed
that the concerns raised in these articles are shared widely in many companies around the Europe,
Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Almost 65% of organisations described their performance
management processes as ineffective, while only three out of 10 managers and employees reported
being satisfied with these same processes.
Towers Watson Media
Source: Towers Watson Performance ManagementSurvey 2015
But while there is broad agreement about the ineffectiveness of many current programmes, the
reasons behind the dissatisfaction are surprisingly different from the picture painted by the
headlines. Rather than confirming that companies are spending too much time on developing
employee performance, the survey found that 83% of companies invest fewer than six hours per
year on each employee. Against a background where employees are often demanding more frequent
feedback and touchpoints, there is a clear disconnect emerging.
Global employee engagement data confirm how important spending time to set clear goals and
objectives and discussing careers is to employees. Indeed, these frequently appear as two of the top
three drivers of sustainable engagement and retention.
In this most recent survey, for example, employees said they want to spend more time setting
relevant goals (58%) and participating in performance feedback and career discussions (72%).
These results further underscore

then ask you to open wide to claw at your teeth and gums. That is what I want to be doing as my

that some may be born with or others have to learn. Explaining these things and learning about
these things are crucial to my education to becoming a dentist. As a dentist, you can obtain an
office full of terrified kids and adults who have the privilege to see me! It s actually them being
scared of the tools that I have that goes in their mouths, but same thing right? In addition to having
kids being terrified of you and your tools, there are its perks. One of the perks for a dentist is that

Designing An Effective Advertisement
Introduction
What does it take to make an effective advertisement that will successfully communicate an
important message? What does it take to capture the eye of the intended audience? It could be
dependent on the color selections or maybe even a certain graphic or image. Although those are all
vital elements to take into consideration during the design process, the most important element in
creating an effective advertisement is typography. Typography by definition is the arrangement and
manipulation of a certain typeface or typefaces on the layout of a design. Arranging text into an
effective design requires plenty of thought and a fair amount of experimentation.
A designer must consider the many different factors including alternative typefaces, point sizes, line
lengths and character spacing. These text elements represent typography, and with the correct
combination, it could be the means to a very successful advertisement and design. When looking at
typography from a marketing mentality, it is crucial to pay attention to the overall appearance and
tones advertisements try to express. Typography is a powerful tool to establish an identity or
presence, showcase the services or products it can offer them, and subtly inject the intended
message, above and beyond the actual words and graphics.
The History and Origin of Typography The origin of typography dated as early as 1850 to 1600

Asian Culture And Cultural Identity
Christina To
Mr Nguyen
English 4
13 October 2017
Cultural Identity Culture plays a big part on how you are as a person. A person beliefs are made
up by their own unique cultural identity. Identity is what makes you who you are as person, and
how does it defines you. Your identity doesn t have to be just your ethnicity or how you look like, it
s way much more than that. While my culture is mixed with American and Asian aspects, Asian
culture is most influential in my life because it helps me be motivated in school, affect my views
on religion, and makes me have good deportment. Asian culture motivates me in school because
their expectations push me to a higher standard. Most Asian parents would only expect a 4.0
GPA from their kids, and nothing lower. Their beliefs are that, if you get high grades, you will
be successful. You could become a doctor, engineer, lawyer, and so much more. Unlike most
American cultures, making money is the most important thing to Asians. If you have the right
education, you would make a lot of money. With money, you could do anything, money is power.
My parents would always say that if you have money, no one would ever make fun of you. They
would give me life lessons, and compare me to other family members that are successful, and say
that I have to be exactly like them. They would also talk to me about their history. How tough it

church. These are important matters because they have influenced, and shaped their view of life.
The Orthodox Church is incredibly important to Greek history, culture and tradition. When walking,

Why Did Edward I Achieve The Hardship Of Scotland
There are many things that all occurred that had allowed for Edward I of England to achieve the
overlordship of Scotland. From the controlling of Wales and Ireland, he eventually gained control of
Man. The fact that the Church of Scotland was not completely recognised by the papacy meant that
the kings of Scotlandwere not real kings in the eyes of Edward I. The surprise death of Alexander
III, quickly followed by the death of the Maid of Norway led to a succession crisis and the
potential for a civil war for the right to rule in Scotland. The guardians appointed after the death of
Alexander III apparently all worked together for the future of Scotland and this possibly had an

Yet Morris claims that the idea of a subservient Scotland dates back to before the times of the
Romans . Whatever one is more accurate, the essence of both draw attention to the English frame of
mind that Scotland should be under the control of England and that the ruler of Scotland should pay
fealty to his English counterpart. Throughout the middle ages English rulers had been attempting to
assert their authority over their Scottish counterparts. The inauguration of Alexander III reveals
another cause of conflict on the issue of overlordship. Whilst there were items such as a sword, a
sceptre and a crown used in the inauguration, this was not quite a coronation. For he was not
anointed nor was his crown blessed by any of the churchmen present. The Scots had been in contact
with the papacy in an attempt to make this ceremony sacred, but they had been rejected thanks to
intervention by the English. For that reason Edward would have seen the Scottish kings as inferior
and not as kingly as the English king. Since the English rulers viewed Scotland as inferior and that
their rulers should pay homage to their English counterparts, England should already hold dominion

Disadvantages Of A Shipping Pool
A shipping pool enjoys several benefits. Besides the ability to undertake large contracts of
affreightment, the pool can diversify risks and enjoy economies of scope. With higher load factors
and the ability to minimise ballast legs and idle time, a pool can benefit from a semi industrial
carrier model for long term relationships and fulfilment of contracts. Downsides of a shipping pool
are issues with regulatory agencies, no control of tonnage, reliance on third parties, market risks,
and speculative activity.
3.4 Similar Tonnage
Vessels that combined a pool are similar between them in terms of deadweight tonnage. The
tonnage should be more or less similar so that cargo and ship switched and optimum fleet
deployment could be effectively managed.
3.5 Weighing System / Fair System
It is common for shipping pools to use pre arranged weighting systems and algorithms. Earnings
and distribution are predefined in the system. Overhead costs and fees are deducted and distributed
between participants using the formula. Software aids the decision making process of the pool
management to ensure that the system is fair. Following the pre defined period, participants can

The Logical Fallacies
What are logical fallacies, evidence, and error in misconceptions? The report will identify nine
logical fallacies. If all evidence in an argument appears to be true, still the disputation may be
invalid if the logic utilized is not sanctioned ( Logical Fallacies, 2014). Another name for it is
called logical error, in philosophy. There are many fallacies to be aware of when making a sound
argument. The nine logical fallacies are Mere assertion/Circular reasoning/Ad hominem, Red herring
/Pseudo questions/False cause, and Sweeping generalizations/Slippery slope/Equivocation or
changing means. `
Mere assertion/Circular reasoning/Ad hominem

One may use it to defend him or herself against a skeptic, claiming that the skeptic is closed
minded. By way of example, Karina s presentation should not be shown, because her religion is
Christian. Cristian should not be allowed to speak, because he cannot drive. On the whole, Kevin
should not be able to play soccer, because his mother is sick.
Red herring/Pseudo questions/False cause
4.Red herring is when one distracts someone or the audience to confuse them, with something
irrelevant in a discussion. It leads the viewer to a false end. Also, can be used intentionally. As an
illustration, Rudy s mom asked him to clean the basement because he has not done anything this
week, but he pointed out that he cut the grass two weeks ago. Hector and Jessica were fighting
because no one has said I love you recently, so Hector pointed out that he was the first one to say it.

How Does Liliana Heker Use Third Person In The Stolen Party
Intro In the Stolen Party by Liliana Heker she used third person limited. In the next few
paragraphs I will explain why and when she used it. In The Stolen Party the author Liliana
Heker used third person limited point of view to make the surprise bigger for us and it lets us
experience it the way Rosaura is. It also makes the story more exciting because we only know
what Rosaura is thinking and we only know what she is feeling not what her mother is feeling or
thinking. So we are more clueless to what is going on then if she did not use third person limited.
A reason for using third person limited point of view is to have a bigger surprise in the story at
the end. So when Senora Ines gives Rosaura the money at the end we aren t expecting

Example Of Symbolic Interactionism Theory
MEDIATIONAL THEORY Imagine for a moment that you are out on a vacation with your
family. After a long journey you decided to go out and check out the new city. Now it is a pretty
cloudy and the sky isn t to clear, but the breeze is nice, so you don t mind. While you are out there
you hear a group of people screaming, and then a loud gun shot. What do you think of? What is the
first word that comes to your mind? How do you react to the sound, or do you at all? And why?
These are some of the main questions that should be considered when looking at MEDIATIONAL
THEORY. According to Charles Osgood s mediation is a theory that can be laid out very simply,
yet in nature it is very complex. The key elements of this theory... Show more content on

Why Plagiarism Is Wrong
As you complete the last step you will be expected to use the information obtained in an effective

Orff Schulwerk And Eurythmics
In music there are many different successful ways of teaching music although many have flaws.
Such as to much repetition, and not enough excitement. In this paper we will compare orff
shulwerk, kodaly method, Suzuki, and eurythmics. All of these have different ways of teaching,
and we will analyze these different methods piece by piece.
Orff Shulwerk was made by a man named Carl Orff. He met a woman named Dorthey Guntar in a
theater in Munich, Germany. They decided that kids did not get enough experience with these
instruments, so they decided to build a program. The program Carl and dorthey made is called

Kodaly method they use hand gestures, and mother tognue folk songs.. Hand gestures help the
students visualize the notes that are being played. According to the Texas Music Education
Research, Zemke (1973) stated that these signals [add] a feeling of stability and security to a

Toys Are Double Choices For Children
Toys that do double duty are wonderful choices for children. Lego sets are an example of this type
of toy. Children first have the fun of building the toy, and then they get to play with it. Amazon has
a variety of Lego toys, including Lego tanks for sale.
Lego tank sets provide children with hours of playtime fun. Building the tank is a wonderful
learning experience as kids learn to follow instructions. Once the tank is built, children use their
imaginations to bring them to life. Another nice thing about these types of toys is the fact that
children and parents can work on them together. Often parents love building with Lego almost as
much as the kids do. It s a wonderful, and fun way for adults and children to bond. There are many

Theme Of Women In Othello And The Duchess Of Malfi
In the Elizabethan era what were the requirements for women and what made them ideal wives? I
want to focus on the two main wives in Othello and The Duchess of Malfi both characters are being
judged for being impure and unmoral. Desdemona and the Duchess diverge from each other
because they have very different attitudes toward the men in the plays. The men in their lives try to
impose upon them which finally drive them to their deaths. Society and men expected women to be
submissive and chaste characters but the Duchess really proves them wrong making a statement on
how wives shouldn t be alabaster statues kneeling at their husbands tombs. Portraying Desdemona
as more of the traditional Elizabethan wifewhich obeys and the Duchess being more of the strong
and free feminine symbol. Women in this plays are seen as mere objects or property of men and
expected to be chaste, obedient and silent spectators of what men would do through the play. So
when this female characters step out of this labels and fight against the power that marginalize them
as subjects they usually end up forced into marriage, muted and dead. In this period braking these
social barriers by self making and voicing your opinion as a women was resisted in society, this
could only be done by the queen. Desdemona was bold enough to go against social norms and
challenged her family and married a Moor, Othello. But she is still seen a good wife because she

This breed is also one of the most admirable family pet dogs simply due to its variety of adorable

The chief purpose of leash training your dog is to stop them from pulling on the leash as it not
only makes the whole idea of walking a dog disappointing but also encourages the unpleasant
behaviors he has. Generally, it s far easier to leash train a puppy than an older dog but it can be
done in both cases, the latter demanding a little more patience. Below is a comprehensive step by
step guideline towards a successful German shepherd leash training.
1. Choose the correct collar
Leash training German shepherd dog should begin with selecting an appropriate collar and
placing it onto your dog s neck. Be sure to purchase a standard leather collar that is not too tight
as we don t intend to hurt or strangle them. Next, try wearing it while the dog is absent minded;
maybe playing with one of his toys or eats. Allow him to get used to it and don t relieve him even
if he tries to scratch it off or dislodge it. Instead, wait until he forgets about it and then take it off.
2. Let the Dog get used to the leash
Next, attach a leash to the collar and allow your dog to run freely with it around the house. The dog
needs to comprehend the fact that there is an unfamiliar item attached to his neck and he cannot do

Most nesting locations are amongst dense shrubbery and branches of small trees and are built
lower to the ground. In order to defend his nest the male sings in a loud, clear whistle from the top
of a tree or another high location. Sometimes males will attack their reflection often spending hours
charging at what they perceive as unwelcome intruders.
The male is the one to show off to attract a mate. Sometimes you ll see the male pick up a seed,
hop over to the female, and the two momentarily touch beaks as she takes the food, this is called
mate feeding . Females choose their mates based on the male s qualities such as the size of his
black face mask as well as the color of his plumage and bill. When the female agrees to become his
mate they sing to each other.
The cardinal is a ground feeder and finds food while hopping through forests and shrubbery. The
adults diet consists of insects, spiders, wild fruits, berries, and weed seeds. They feed their young
almost exclusively on insects. In the winter, Cardinals eat more seeds and berries since insects are

Theme Of Relationships In Of Mice And Men
Of Mice and Men is a film which was produced in 1992 but set in 1937 during the Great
Depression in the United States. Spies (by Michael Frayn) was published in 2002 and mainly set
during World War II. George Milton and Lennie Small from Of Mice and Men are migrant
workers who travel around California looking for work. These characters are unusual because the
majority of migrant workers at this time were loners whereas these characters are best friends.
They are also so different from each other which also makes them unusual. Stephen Wheatley and
Keith Hayward from Spies also maintained a friendship, different to George and Lennie s. Stephen
feels as if Keith had total superiority but turned a blind eye to it. Stephen and Keith were
adolescent boys who spied on Keith s mother. Both texts explore the theme of relationship and
power, but in different ways. Of Mice and Men explores the theme of relationship through different
characters, but mainly through George and Lennie. Their friendship was unique as during the Great
Depression, it was rare to see ranch workers stick together and form friendships the way George
and Lennie had. Lennie was portrayed as a grown man with a childish mind, which was why he
was so dependent on George. This was a positive relationship in this text even though George
demanded Lennie around, it was for his own good. The different camera techniques in this text help
capture the essence of their relationship which include over the shoulder shots and

Similarities And Differences Between Ancient And...
There are subtle stylistic differences that occur in the Piombino Apollo that make it more advanced
than the archaic kouros, which lead many scholars to distinguish this statue as Hellenistic rather
than Archaic. The modelling of the back is one of the biggest alterations that occurs between actual
kouros from the archaic period and the Piombino Apollo. The back of the statue is much more
artistically advanced than the front regarding modelling (Ridgway 1967: 48). The subtle
modelling of the muscular structures and ridges of the spine of the back suggest the desired
realism of the Hellenistic era, instead of the basic and ridged idealized form found in the archaic
period (Ridgway 1967: 48). More subtle differences between a true archaic sculpture and a
retrograded Hellenistic sculpture are also present in this statue in other areas, such as the feet.
On most kouros, the feet are high arched, but on the Piombino Apollo, they are small and flat
(Ridgway 1967: 49). Also the toes are a discrepancy between the two eras. Usually archaic
statues have [the toes] aligned with the central part of the other foot (Ridgway 1967: 49) in a
very geometric fashion. However, the toes on the right foot of the Apollo do not align with the
middle of the left foot, and instead align with the left heel (Ridgway 1967: 49). As stated earlier,
the hair is a defining feature in archaic kouros and it is typically flat and in a bulky beaded shape

Unprepared Student Athletes
In America, sports have an immense impact not only on our culture but, also on our education
system. As adolescents begin to engage in school sports they are exposed to the multiple privileges
that are associated with being a student athlete. Teachers become more lineate by giving them
special accommodations, like a deadline extension or an omission from an assignment because they
have a big championship or tournament. As a result of the special treatment throughout their
educational careers, many student athletes develop the mentality that they do not have to try as
hard academically as their peers. They believe that they can depend solely on their athletic talents to

Studies have shown that special admits typically have not performed as well as other players in the

admission view getting into college as winning the battle (Davidson). Unfortunately, many
college athletes come from disadvantaged and underserved communities where they ve
garnered little to no academic preparation for college (Davidson). As a result of this, the special
admits (Barker) tend to maintain worse college GPAs, graduate at a lower rates (Barker)

care about the money and not the student; at some institutions Coaches have been told many
times, If you don t win, you re going to get fired. I was never told, If you don t graduate players,

their academic needs. For example, Fred Buttler was an outstanding athlete whose academic needs

2.3 Social/Culture Factor
When it comes to the Social factors, population, income distribution, social mobility, lifestyle,
attitude towards work and leisure, and education level are detailed elements of Social factors. For
Cochlear, attitude towards healthcare among the society is the main influencing factor. In
developing countries like India and South East Asia, the average healthcare awareness is low. To
prove this, we only need to quote words from Chundu, Manchaiah, Stephens and Kumar (2013), it
appears that parentally reported outcomes could be related to many factors including the hearing
healthcare system with the costs involved for the implanted individuals and their families . As a
countermeasure, according to the Economic Times (2010), Cochlear Limited will spend up to 15

culture difference. Cochlear used localization of the communication strategy to deal with culture
difference: In Europe, it cooperated with Loud Group and designed a comprehensive program of
Public Relationship, which included traditional media, broadcast, activity, and on line DeafBlog.

Benefits Of Building And Regain Employees Trust
After 15 years of taking great pride in leading people, I fear these skills may no longer be
required or valued. As globalization and advanced technology challenges the world as we know
it, I can t help but think I ve become a dinosaur. It s disheartening to feel this way that companies
no longer care about their employees and only see them as expenses rather than assets. Building a
strong team where people trust and respect each other seems to no longer be a priority or even a
thought among managers. I say managers, because managing and leading people are two very
different things. So the question is, will we be able to build or regain employees trust; is it even
something companies care about anymore?

I wish I could dismiss this as a rare case, but the truth is that the longer I stay in this environment,
the more this is becoming the norm. Dedicated colleagues who always gave a 110% are now

Really what they are saying is I ve stopped caring. What s more concerning is that this type of
behavior is not unique to one company, it is widespread.
Newspapers are riddled with stories of deceit and deception from leaders in both the commercial
and government sectors (Wilson, 2009, p. 12). The article raises the growing issue and challenges
leaders face with disengaged employees and high turnover rates; and turnover isn t cheap. For
those concerned with the bottom line, it s important to know that the cost of turnover is estimated
to be equivalent to an entire year s salary of the employee who left, not to mention the cost of lost
productivity, absenteeism, and increased health costs. Wilson also indicated that research by
Gallup and other organizations indicate employee disengagement is costing companies billions of
dollars every year (as cited in Wilson, 2009). Average employee tenure is less than five years, and
for millennials less than three (Morgan, 2015).

The Gospel Of Luke Figurative Language
The Gospel of Luke is one of the four gospels as part of the new testament. Luke s Gospel is
dependent on other earlier writings, especially the Gospel according to Mark. The purpose of the
Gospel is to communicate the life of God and promote the universal significance of Jesus Christ s
story. Luke makes an effort to make his readings relatable to readers from different religious,
ethnic, and social backgrounds. The reason Luke makes an effort to create an easily relatable story
is to create a point of identity and entry into the story of JesusChrist. In telling this story, Luke
demonstrates an ability to write in different literary styles. The language is formal and refined in a
fashion familiar to the language of well educated citizens during the first century of the Roman
Empire. As situations shift in the story, the language used varies appropriately to suit the locale and
characters in the narrative. Luke s appreciation of stylistic variation in narrative communication is
apparent, and helps build a convincing viewpoint. One... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

However, Luke maintains Jesus divine nature by indicating that Jesus was not just like other

built by foreigners that we felt were not the same to whites. We issued them the title of slaves.
Although in the past 100 s of years we have abolished slavery and slowly adopted them into our
ways of living, there are many cases in which we still do not. Racism is a key example of why
you can never say everyone is treated the same. On many accounts, there have been occurrences
such as police brutality, hate crimes, slurs and many other disturbing feats towards people
possibly that you hang out with on a regular basis. All of these can be examples of
discrimination. The obvious dissatisfaction that comes from going online and reading about
another black person shot by a white cop for no apparent reason is just ridiculous. It may not be
that they are targeting people, but actually, just the feeling of discomfort while pulling them over
or catching them. According to Richard Rowe, America s legal system is out of control. Not out
of control in the sense that we can t do anything about it only in that as a system, it has lost all
control of itself (Rowe). I would not go as far to say it is out of control, but rather say it is damaged

Essay about Compassionate Care
The purpose of this essay is to look at barriers of compassion and what nurses could do overcome
these barriers. Three sub topics will be looked at over the course of this essay and a conclusion
will be made to evaluate these essays findings and to provide some input into battling these barriers
so that patients can receive high standards of patient care.
The definition of compassion in the oxford dictionary is sympathetic pity and concern for the
suffering or misfortunes of others . Oxford dictionary (2013) However senior lecturer Penny
Harrison says there is no accurate definition for compassion as it is a word that can be understood
in different ways. Harrison, P. (2009)

Compassionate care is a big talking point right now in the media and within the healthcare sector
with the Francis report being published earlier this year regarding the failings by Mid
Staffordshire and Scotland are now waiting for their own report to be issued regarding the
failings at the Vale of Leven in Dumbarton. The nursing and midwifery council have already
started on some the imperative changes to be made that the Francis report issued. The chief
executive of the nursing and midwifery council has said in her executive statement regarding the
Francis report that they are to re examine the current teaching that nurses receive and the
professional standards. Smith, J. (Nursing and Midwifery Council) all of these failings are all
relate d to compassionate care. The people who died in these hospitals were clearly not heard
when they complained of feeling unwell and did not receive compassionate care so why was this?
Next to be discussed is compassion fatigue and how this may reflect onto nursing practice in
providing sufficient compassion.
Compassion fatigue is widely known in the health care profession. Nurses working overtime and
long working days to provide care for the patient and the patient s families are a continuous stress
on a nurse s emotional and physical well being especially if the nurse is providing the patient with
end of life care as this contributes to both physical and mental work. Vital

Friedlander s Summary
In the reading today, Friedlander says that in the forties and fifties Elvis Presley went through
three developmental periods of music. He began listening to a wide variety of music in his first
developmental period of music. He transitioned into the specifics of blues, R B, gospel and country
/rock. After he signed to RCA Records he created a version of classic rock and roll, as his final
development of music. Friedlander calls this the three Rs: roots, rockability, and rock and roll.
He continues on in this passage about Elvis Presley and his early life, and music career. He talks
about Elvis s life such as his relationship with his mother in his early life to his struggles he had
later in life. This continues into informing about Elvis s

Adn vs Bsn
Grand Canyon University: NRS 430v Professional Dynamics February 19, 2012 Abstract For many
years, society has debated about the nursing degree. What are the differences? What are the
similarities? As nurses we have the opportunity to choose different levels of education. Which
include: associate degree, baccalaureate degree, masters degree and nurse practitioner. In beginning
we need to understand What is nursing in general? As defined by the ANA: Nursing is the
protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury,
alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in
the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations.... Show more content on

The ADN prepared nurse may focus solely on the patient care and may also feel unable to assist
the family with their needs. They would review code status and resume care. (i.e. labs, IV
fluids, CXR etc.) However, the BSN prepared nurse may identify the family s unique needs and
plan accordingly. The BSN prepared nurse may delegate tasks more effectively to ancillary staff
to provide assistance. Perhaps having the aid or ward clerk to call other family or religious
affiliations for support. Or by providing the family with privacy and providing frequent updates on
the patient s condition and plan of care. Further education would be given to the family to
determine what extent of care is to be given. (I.e. maximum care or palliative care). The
determination would contribute to the entirety of knowledge needed and education provided. The
actual bedside competency difference would not be profound in this situation, but the entire
experience for the patient and/or the family can be improved as well as quality of life. Patient
education is also on the forefront of the BSN prepared nurse. More education and training in
regards to communication and technology gives the BSN nurse a greater ability to educate the
patient more thoroughly and comprehensively. References American Association of Colleges of

Compare And Contrast Martin Luther King Jr And Malcolm X
The Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s and 1970s paved a way towards a more racially
harmonious America. Two famous men during this movement for the black community were
Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. Two very different men with two very different
ideologies and two very different strategies towards equality. One was credited as the Father of the
Civil Rights Movement while another one was a hostile extremist who encouraged violence only
for self defense. Both men made an impact on civil rights for the black community, but people were
more gravitated towards King than they were to Malcolm X. On August 28th, 1963; one of
America s most memorable speakers gave one of the most important speeches in history. King s I

and Malcolm X giving two completely different speeches, both had similar strengths in these
speeches. Both men were powerful speakers who provoked powerful speeches. They were sure
to clarify what they meant and where they stood, and both knew just what to say to their
audience. These two men were very popular in their time and had many followers, but the people
tended to gravitate more towards King than Malcolm X. King knew how to make his speeches
memorable, not just by who wrote it but how he wrote it. King used metaphors, used repetition,
and quoted well known documents in his speeches. I have dream is a well known and
remembered phrase in his speech, but is not said until closer to the end of his speech. One
hundred years later... and Now is the time... and let freedom ring... are also phrases King repeats.
By using repetition in his speech, he made it more memorable to his audience and made the
meaning of his speech clearer. Using metaphors painted a more illustrated picture for his
audience. King described America s promise of freedom as a check marked insufficient funds,
which made his speech more illustrated and therefore, more memorable to his audience.
Malcolm X used metaphors as well, though did not use as much repetition in his speech like
King did. Malcolm X s speeches, while just as powerful, were not as memorable. His main
points were expressed, that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad was a prophet and was the only
means of escape from the doomed White America. Malcolm X does not quote the Bible word for
word but does explain the prophets and their stories. The main prophet he uses is Moses, and he
compares and contrasts Moses to Elijah Muhammad. He compares how Pharaoh did not take
Moses seriously and that now White America is doing the same to Muhammad. Even comparing
the Civil Right leaders to the magicians Pharaoh hired to throw off Moses people. They have been
hired by this white government to make our

Of Lerhonda S. Manigault-Bryant s Talking To The Dead
In Talking to the Dead, by LeRhonda S. Manigault Bryant (hereafter referred to as Manigault),
Manigault explores the relatively unobserved yet vital role of Gullah/Geechee women in churches
and society as a whole, as it pertains to the geographic area of the lowcountry in South Carolina.
She addresses the significance of Gullah/Geechee women in preserving the distinct culture of Mt.
Pleasant, James Island, and Moncks Corner. In the name of ethnography, Manigault inserts herself
into the world of these women and assumes the duty of translating certain aspects of their lives to
the reader, so that the reader can better understand, for example, the important role that shouting
plays in lowcountry churches. Throughout the book, Manigault employs... Show more content on

For instance, in chapter 3, Ah Talk to de Dead All de Time, Manigault lets Yenega tell the story
of a black man who proved his intellectual superiority to a white man in the Gullah dialect, in lieu
of Manigault simply paraphrasing the story herself. Yenega naturally says da instead of the ; ta
instead of to ; and deh instead of there, among other words and their Gullah pronunciations (110
111). Essentially, Manigault s constant use of the native dialect gives Yenega s story and the
book as a whole a sense of authenticity. Again, Manigault s subtle yet effective characterization
of her interviewees reminds the reader that he or she is reading about real women. If Manigault
were to paraphrase every anecdote relayed by the women, she would neglect to fully tell their
stories; likewise, if she were to let the Gullah/Geechee dialect encompass the entire book, it is
arguable that the reader would lack a proper understanding of the reading. Thus, it is best that
Manigault defers to the women s quotes from time to time, on a wide array of subjects. At the drop
of every da, ta, and deh, the women s distinctive Gullah/Geechee accent floods the pages,
accentuates their words, and compels the reader to truly listen to their

She faced numerous adversities from early childhood through adulthood. She displayed many psychological warning signs, but none was attended too regardless of her outcries. In the midst of the horrible, unethical lifestyle, she was informed that her grandfather had committed suicide in his garage. I can only speculate that she felt alone in the world and needed to fill that void. So as she was Hitchhiking across America, Wuornos arrived in Florida and was presented with a potentially life changing piece of luck: she met wealthy yacht club president, 69 year old Lewis Fell, who fell in love with her, and they were married in 1976. Wuornos soon reverted to type, however, and began fighting in bars, and was sent to jail for assault as a result. Fell was horrified; a brawling bride had no place in his high society lifestyle, and he had the marriage annulled after a few months. • 5. Intramuscular Injections For a medication to be delivered in a safe and appropriate manner, nurses must be able to identify and select the suitable site of an injection. When assessing suitable sites to administer an intramuscular injection, multiple factors must be taken into consideration. With an excess of 12 billion injections given annually across the world (Nicoll Hesby, 2002), the risks of unsafe practices are guaranteed to be increasing as the need for injections increases. This essay critically examines the sites that injections are delivered and identifies the best site regarding IMI (intramuscular injections). With the need for more injections to be delivered to patients for a range of symptoms and illnesses, the need for nurses that are adequately trained ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Evidence suggests that there are less risks associated to the Ventrogluteal region compared to other IM sites on the body. With the sciatic nerve and multiple major blood and nerve vessels being present in the dorsogluteal muscle, the risk of these vessels getting damaged is at increased risk (Ogsten Tuck, 2014). Historically nurses have administered IM injections into the Dorsogluteal site, or as it is better known as the upper outer quadrant. This site poses an increased quantity of unacceptable risks linked to injury s suffered as a result of a harmful injection (Zimmermann, 2010). Therefore the Ventrogluteal muscle should be used wherever possible. This muscle boasts the largest thickness relating to muscle in the gluteal region. Unlike the Dorsogluteal muscle, the Ventrogluteal lacks major blood and nerve vessel, consequently reducing the risk of complications of injury. This muscle is also able to absorb larger volumes of substances at a faster rate (Government of Western Australia, 2014). The chief purpose of leash training your dog is to stop them from pulling on the leash as it not only makes the whole idea of walking a dog disappointing but also encourages the unpleasant behaviors he has. Generally, it s far easier to leash train a puppy than an older dog but it can be done in both cases, the latter demanding a little more patience. Below is a comprehensive step by step guideline towards a successful German shepherd leash training. 1. Choose the correct collar Leash training German shepherd dog should begin with selecting an appropriate collar and placing it onto your dog s neck. Be sure to purchase a standard leather collar that is not too tight as we don t intend to hurt or strangle them. Next, try wearing it while the dog is absent minded; maybe playing with one of his toys or eats. Allow him to get used to it and don t relieve him even if he tries to scratch it off or dislodge it. Instead, wait until he forgets about it and then take it off. 2. Let the Dog get used to the leash Next, attach a leash to the collar and allow your dog to run freely with it around the house. Sometimes you ll see the male pick up a seed, hop over to the female, and the two momentarily touch beaks as she takes the food, this is called mate feeding . Females choose their mates based on the male s qualities such as the size of his black face mask as well as the color of his plumage and bill. • 30. Theme Of Relationships In Of Mice And Men Of Mice and Men is a film which was produced in 1992 but set in 1937 during the Great Depression in the United States. Spies (by Michael Frayn) was published in 2002 and mainly set during World War II. George Milton and Lennie Small from Of Mice and Men are migrant workers who travel around California looking for work. These characters are unusual because the majority of migrant workers at this time were loners whereas these characters are best friends. They are also so different from each other which also makes them unusual. Stephen Wheatley and Keith Hayward from Spies also maintained a friendship, different to George and Lennie s. Stephen feels as if Keith had total superiority but turned a blind eye to it. Stephen and Keith were adolescent boys who spied on Keith s mother. Both texts explore the theme of relationship and power, but in different ways. Of Mice and Men explores the theme of relationship through different characters, but mainly through George and Lennie. Their friendship was unique as during the Great Depression, it was rare to see ranch workers stick together and form friendships the way George and Lennie had. Lennie was portrayed as a grown man with a childish mind, which was why he was so dependent on George. This was a positive relationship in this text even though George demanded Lennie around, it was for his own good. • 31. Similarities And Differences Between Ancient And... There are subtle stylistic differences that occur in the Piombino Apollo that make it more advanced than the archaic kouros, which lead many scholars to distinguish this statue as Hellenistic rather than Archaic. The modelling of the back is one of the biggest alterations that occurs between actual kouros from the archaic period and the Piombino Apollo. The back of the statue is much more artistically advanced than the front regarding modelling (Ridgway 1967: 48). The subtle modelling of the muscular structures and ridges of the spine of the back suggest the desired realism of the Hellenistic era, instead of the basic and ridged idealized form found in the archaic period (Ridgway 1967: 48). More subtle differences between a true archaic sculpture and a retrograded Hellenistic sculpture are also present in this statue in other areas, such as the feet. On most kouros, the feet are high arched, but on the Piombino Apollo, they are small and flat (Ridgway 1967: 49). Also the toes are a discrepancy between the two eras. Usually archaic statues have [the toes] aligned with the central part of the other foot (Ridgway 1967: 49) in a very geometric fashion. However, the toes on the right foot of the Apollo do not align with the middle of the left foot, and instead align with the left heel (Ridgway 1967: 49). As stated earlier, the hair is a defining feature in archaic kouros and it is typically flat and in a bulky beaded shape to best attempt to represent the different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The purpose of the Gospel is to communicate the life of God and promote the universal significance of Jesus Christ s story. Luke makes an effort to make his readings relatable to readers from different religious, ethnic, and social backgrounds. The reason Luke makes an effort to create an easily relatable story is to create a point of identity and entry into the story of JesusChrist. Looking back into the history of the U.S. many of the most memorable building/structures were built by foreigners that we felt were not the same to whites. We issued them the title of slaves. Although in the past 100 s of years we have abolished slavery and slowly adopted them into our ways of living, there are many cases in which we still do not. On many accounts, there have been occurrences such as police brutality, hate crimes, slurs and many other disturbing feats towards people possibly that you hang out with on a regular basis. In beginning we need to understand What is nursing in general? The BSN prepared nurse may delegate tasks more effectively to ancillary staff to provide assistance. Perhaps having the aid or ward clerk to call other family or religious affiliations for support. Or by providing the family with privacy and providing frequent updates on the patient s condition and plan of care. Further education would be given to the family to determine what extent of care is to be given. (I.e. maximum care or palliative care). The determination would contribute to the entirety of knowledge needed and education provided.
