5. Analyze the aim of the project and determined the
solution.
Designed the circuit diagram and program .
Purchased the components required.
Designed and made circuit in control board.
Checked the various requirements.
Finally implemented the project.
IMPLEMENTATION
7. • This project is an implementation to the idea of the
wireless communication between a mobile phone
and a microcontroller.
• It uses:
a) A message display, which will be used as the
digital notice board
b) A GSM modem, which is the latest technology
used for communication between the mobile and
the embedded devices.
c) Microcontroller, PIC16F877a
8.
9. User wants to display a message
User sends the message in his mobile
defining the messages to the number of
the subscriber identity module (SIM)
which is inserted in the display system
MODEM.
10. The GSM modem receives the SMS. The
AT commands are serially transferred to
the modem through MAX232.
The microcontroller will read the
message and verify for the Validity, if it
is correct then it will start displaying the
messages in the display system
14. APPLICATION OF THE
PROJECT
• Banks
• Effective traffic control
• Advertisements
• Education sector
• Information exchange
• Stock exchanges
15. Low cost
Flexible
Low power consumption
Data can be entered from remote place
Wireless system
Data will not be lost in power failure conditions
It automatically delete the SMS on the arrival of new
SMS
ADVANTAGES
16. LIMITATIONS
We failed to display the messages based on
it’s priority.
During network problem project will not work
effectively.
We can’t display the messages on LCD
screen.
17. FUTURE
ENHANCEMENT A commercial model can be able to display
more than one messages at time.
By including priority condition we can
enhance the project.
Robots can be controlled in a similar fashion
by sending commands to the robots.
LED display can be used instead of LCD
display.
18. The display boards are one of the major communications
medium for mass media.
Local language can be added as a variation in this
project. This can be achieved by using graphics and
other decoding techniques. Also we realize that this
project saves time, energy and hence environment. Cost
of printing and photocopying is also reduced as
information can be given to a large number of people
from our fingertips.
Thus we can conclude that this project is just a start, an
idea to make use of GSM in communications to a next
level
