This document proposes a Wi-Fi based smart controller for remotely watering plants, trees, and herbs. The objectives are to centrally control soil moisture levels, save electricity and water, and automate watering. It would use ESP8266 modules, moisture sensors, and Arduinos to sense soil moisture levels across departments, send the data to a central Arduino, and control water pumps on or off based on the readings to dynamically water plants. A block diagram and estimated costs are provided for both distributed and centralized control systems using 3 departments as an example.
