Automatic Green House Monitoring and Controlling System
Abstract:-
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have played major role and attention in recent years. The
ambiguous applications of WSNs are immense. These networks used for collecting, storing
and sharing sensed data among them self’s and to external node. WSNs have been used for
various applications such as habitat monitoring, agriculture, nuclear reactor control,
security, tactical surveillance and many more applications where human cannot monitor.
The monitoring and GSM systems and developed in this project is for use in green house
applications, where real time data of climate conditions and other environmental properties
are sensed and control decisions are taken by monitoring system and they are modified by the
automation system and sends SMS that what operation is performed by them to user .
The architecture of a green house monitoring system comprises of a set of sensor nodes and a
control unit that communicate with each sensor node and collects local information to make
necessary decisions about the physical environment. The Temperature sensors LM 45 senses
the temperature and send to SCU, it will amplify and send to Control Unit. The Humidity
Sensor is used to find the humidity of the Greenhouse. The control units have the MCU to
check the reading and make the fan ON or OFF. Then status of the Greenhouse will send to
the user Mobile through GSM Module.

Introduction:-
1. Greenhouses form an important part of the agriculture sectors in our country.
2. The plants are controlled in climatic conditions for optimum production.
3. Automatic monitoring and controlling of the climatic parameters, which help to grow
plant production.
Objective:-
1. To create a system that reacts and controls the weather inside a greenhouse.
2. We are working on four parameters of climatic condition.
i. Humidity
ii. Soil moisture
iii. Light
iv. Temperature
Motivation:-
1. Currently the green house system is monitored and controlled manually by going on
field.
2. Automating green house by monitoring and controlling sensor network remotely.
Hardware Requirements:-
1. Temperature Sensor
2. Humidity Sensor
3. Light Sensor (LDR)
4. Moisture Sensor
5. Arduino
6. LED
7. Relays
8. GSM Module
Software Requirements:-
1. Arduino IDE.
Applications:-
1. Can be used for increasing productivity of crops.
2. Controlling of green house parameters in precision agriculture.

Power Supply
Working Principle:-
The hardware unit of the prototype of the system is represented by the block diagram above It
contains a Arduino controller as the main processing unit and it gets inputs from the
temperature sensor (LM35) and a soil moisture sensor. From the data obtained from the
sensors the program controls the actuator components such as fans and sprinkler to achieve
the system requirements. It also uses a GSM module which sends information from of SMS
to the user from which the data obtained from the sensors and the data obtained from the user.
The system consist of two subsystems temperature monitor and soil moisture and control
system.
Future Scope:-
1. It Can Be Placed And Operated In Any Of The Environmental Conditions.
2. Solar Panels, Wind Mills can be used to Supply Power to the Automatic Greenhouse
Equipment’s.
Advantage:-
1. Increase Fertility.
2. Better Productivity.
3. Increase in quality Of Crop.
Disadvantage:-
1. Connectivity with the system breaks when GSM card losses range.
Conclusion:-
In green house technology, more number of the parameters is to be control because, the
varieties of the crop are large. They are increasing day by day because of the development in
agriculture technology. In this situation, the wireless sensor network with additional hardware
and software is an efficient solution for green house control.

Automatic green house monitioring and controlling system

  • 1. Automatic Green House Monitoring and Controlling System Abstract:- Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have played major role and attention in recent years. The ambiguous applications of WSNs are immense. These networks used for collecting, storing and sharing sensed data among them self’s and to external node. WSNs have been used for various applications such as habitat monitoring, agriculture, nuclear reactor control, security, tactical surveillance and many more applications where human cannot monitor. The monitoring and GSM systems and developed in this project is for use in green house applications, where real time data of climate conditions and other environmental properties are sensed and control decisions are taken by monitoring system and they are modified by the automation system and sends SMS that what operation is performed by them to user . The architecture of a green house monitoring system comprises of a set of sensor nodes and a control unit that communicate with each sensor node and collects local information to make necessary decisions about the physical environment. The Temperature sensors LM 45 senses the temperature and send to SCU, it will amplify and send to Control Unit. The Humidity Sensor is used to find the humidity of the Greenhouse. The control units have the MCU to check the reading and make the fan ON or OFF. Then status of the Greenhouse will send to the user Mobile through GSM Module. Keywords:- Sensor; Automation; SMS; GSM; Monitoring System. Introduction:- 1. Greenhouses form an important part of the agriculture sectors in our country. 2. The plants are controlled in climatic conditions for optimum production. 3. Automatic monitoring and controlling of the climatic parameters, which help to grow plant production. Objective:- 1. To create a system that reacts and controls the weather inside a greenhouse. 2. We are working on four parameters of climatic condition. i. Humidity ii. Soil moisture iii. Light iv. Temperature Motivation:- 1. Currently the green house system is monitored and controlled manually by going on field. 2. Automating green house by monitoring and controlling sensor network remotely.
  • 2. Hardware Requirements:- 1. Temperature Sensor 2. Humidity Sensor 3. Light Sensor (LDR) 4. Moisture Sensor 5. Arduino 6. LED 7. Relays 8. GSM Module Software Requirements:- 1. Arduino IDE. Applications:- 1. Can be used for increasing productivity of crops. 2. Controlling of green house parameters in precision agriculture. Block Diagram :- Arduino Temperature Sensor Humidity Sensor Light Sensor Moisture Sensor LCD Display Relays GSM Module Power Supply

Working Principle:- The hardware unit of the prototype of the system is represented by the block diagram above It contains a Arduino controller as the main processing unit and it gets inputs from the temperature sensor (LM35) and a soil moisture sensor. From the data obtained from the sensors the program controls the actuator components such as fans and sprinkler to achieve the system requirements. It also uses a GSM module which sends information from of SMS to the user from which the data obtained from the sensors and the data obtained from the user. The system consist of two subsystems temperature monitor and soil moisture and control system. Future Scope:- 1. It Can Be Placed And Operated In Any Of The Environmental Conditions. 2. Solar Panels, Wind Mills can be used to Supply Power to the Automatic Greenhouse Equipment’s. Advantage:- 1. Increase Fertility. 2. Better Productivity. 3. Increase in quality Of Crop. Disadvantage:- 1. Connectivity with the system breaks when GSM card losses range. Conclusion:- In green house technology, more number of the parameters is to be control because, the varieties of the crop are large. They are increasing day by day because of the development in agriculture technology. In this situation, the wireless sensor network with additional hardware and software is an efficient solution for green house control. References:- 1.
