Descriptive Essay About Bed And Breakfast
Around 8:00 am the next morning, my mother and I headed down the stairs descending from the
lighthouse. Being a bed and breakfast, our first meal of the day was, of course, provided by the
owners. When we reached the patio, we were taken aback by the delightful setting. We lounged in
rocking chairs facing the lake, small mugs of hot coffee in hand, and soaked up the rays of the
morning sun as we took in the beautiful view for the last time. Minutes later, the owner of the bed and
breakfast came out from the house holding two plates of food. We took our seats at the little table,
decorated delicately with lace placemats and crystal glasses, and breathed in the sweet scent of our
scrumptious looking breakfasts. We were each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Maybe it was the quirky names listed on the small planks of wood or the vivid colors used to make the
pole stand out from the bright nature surrounding it. Whatever it was, we found it to be beautiful and
we wanted to remember it forever. Our first official stop of the day was actually a town named
Mooresville. Mooresville was a very petite town, so much so it was more of a neighborhood, which
was known for its history. We began our experience by visiting a tiny cafe located on the main street
of the town. The establishment was filled with antiques, artifacts and art. Considering we had just
eaten a very filling breakfast, we did not order any kind of refreshments, instead walking through and
glancing at the items while chatting with the barista. After leaving the cafe, we began touring the rest
of the area, first stopping to study the church I had previously read about. Mostly, it was a simple
church but acting as a steeple was a hand with one finger extended, pointing towards the sky. The
architect who constructed the plans for the building added this special detail. His purpose for the
symbol was to help lost souls find their way to heaven. We then ended our experience of Mooresville
by driving through several of the short streets, admiring the ancient shacks that made the historical
landmark so authentic. We had planned to spend a larger expanse of time in Mooresville and then head
to lunch after. Due to the meager size

Summary Of Robin Lakoff s Language And Woman s Place
In Robin Lakoff s Language and Woman s Place the author Robin tells us her side of the inequity that
women face. She wants to see what she can conclude from her experiences. In this article she tells us
about her first hand accounts of this through introspection (Lakoff 46). Robin tells us about what
language use can tell us about the nature of inequality (Lakoff 45). The author also talks about the
subservient functions of women and the roles that sexes play in society (Lakoff 45). Robin wants to
know if anything can be done for this cause or is this what our society has destined for women (Lakoff
46). Robin talks about how tag questions avoid coming into conflict about the question with the
addressee (Lakoff 55). The author feels like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This appeals to the rhetorical strategy ethos. This helps pull the reader s attention in and makes them
believe the claims she is making. Having first hand accounts of this experience allows her article to
connect with the readers so they know what she has gone through. The audience can see the author s
credibility through this making it more believable. Showing us her side of the story lets us know that
these problems are real. Explaining to the audience examples of this in everyday life and language
makes the audience feel like something must be done. The author explains to us that many women are
subject to subservient functions (Lakoff 46). The roles the sexes play in society have a determination
in how they are treated Robin states (Lakoff 46). She tells us about her first hand experiences of this,
which cause the reader to sympathize for her (Lakoff 46). The author thinks that we will find two
different ways of discrimination women face in language. The author explains the way that women are
taught to use language and the way that general language treats them (Lakoff 46). This is where the
reader starts to see the problems that women may face. The rhetorical strategy ethos used helps the
reader feel for her cause as if it were happening to them first hand. This makes the reader aware of
what is going on. At this point the audience can start to

Kindergarten Sorrow
Summary of As kindergarten ratchets up academics, parents feel the stress
This article, written by Moriah Balingit has mentioned how the kindergarten s curriculum in this
generation has changed over the past decade. It also compares and contrasts opinions of different
mothers and teachers from a variety of different states. The author mentions an experienced researcher
named Daphna Bassok, an associate professor of education at the University of Virginia. The author
briefly explains that Bassok ...believes the shift in kindergarten is rooted in a trickling down of
accountability pressures with schools under more demands to ready children for standardized tests that
are used to evaluate teachers and schools. This statement thoroughly

History Of Kennesaw State University
The UA is the oldest public college in the state of Alabama. It opened in April of 1831 and students
began to enroll May of 1831. They first offered engineering, then later opened medical school. In
1860 the University of Alabama was officially established as a military school. Sadly a few years later
in 1867 UA was burned to the ground by Union Troops, but that did not stop the university because it
reopened again in 1872 and became a Law School. The one thing that makes me want to go to
Alabama more than anything is their football. Their first football team was created in 1892 and has
been the drive of that university ever since. When comparing these two colleges this is one of the
things that would win me over. Since UA is the oldest in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
University of Alabama has always been a dream school for me, but when breaking it down money
wise Kennesaw State is clearly the better option.
Figuring out how you are going to pay for college is the second most important thing and it makes a
decision easier. I am still in high school working a full time job at Belk. I give myself a budget for
every two weeks and put the rest of my money in savings. I look up scholarships daily and am
applying for as many as I can. $50 $10,000 scholarship is better than nothing and it keeps me out of
debt at the end and that is what matters. Unfortunately, I do not have a rich family and no one will be
handing me a lot of money for college, but that just means I need to work a little harder and there is
nothing wrong with that. I will also be taking out student loans to help and my parents will be doing as
much as they can. I ask myself questions like Do I need to go to school because their football team is
amazing or Do I need to focus on the long run and Is going to Kennesaw going to get me just as good
of job as Alabama and save me a little bit more money . So, even with all of these plans I know that I
am still going to have debt, but the real picture to look at is how much debt do I want to have when I
am already trying to find a job.
I have covered everything I need to, except the most important thing. I

Fraud via false financial reporting falls in four categories: 1. Fraudulent financial reporting reporting
false financial performance and overstating the company s earnings and falsifying the level of

Who Is The American Dream In Langston Hughes The Weary Blues
The dreams of American s are diverse. Separately, they differ and seem to have no relation to each

phrase American Dream . The interpretations the American dream depends on the time period. When
America was developing the dream was to be independent from England. The dream after World War
2 was a perfect all American family. A family with a stay at home mom who made incredible apple

Langston Hughes s The Weary Blues was a poetry collection that concluded with poems that Equality
will be truly reached . Hughes believed that segregation would be reached. He was unaware of when
equality would be reached, but he believed that it would be. Whether it was the next day or in twenty
years the dream of equality would be accomplished. American s grown in sense of equality expresses
that Hughes knows America will become equal. When slavery was abolished, equality wasn t instantly
established. Hughes acknowledged that white Americans dreamed of a perfect country and that
America couldn t be perfect without equality. However, the white Americans grew with the sense of
knowing equality was needed, but they choose to ignore it. Langston Hughes s poems also expressed,
former as the richer rather than low life elements . Hughes wanted to express his poetry in a positive
and exciting way. If he used low life elements the poem would express a negative influence on the
reader, showing that the freedmen were still unsatisfied and bitter with life. Using former as the richer

About half a year later, I found myself trying to get back into racing, but soccer got the best of me. I
ended up tearing the LCL in my right knee after being tripped in a game. The injury required surgery
to fix the tear so I could walk again and nine months of therapy to recover, costing about $25,000.
Over the period of absence from racing, I played soccer until 11th grade because I tore my IT band in
my hip and then competed on the bowling team my senior year. Over the years, I found myself a
stable job and began saving up. I always tried to distract myself from the thoughts of racing again, but
the passion was burning and I couldn t resist the temptation. This past summer, I drove to Old
Appleton, Missouri, to visit my friend Jared. While I was there Jared and I went to ride at a track
called Sky High since we used to race together when we were younger. Ever since that day, motocross
is all I can think about.. With the little free time I do have due to being in college and working full
time, I have found myself jumping head first back into doing what I love, racing. Many people have
told me that I would never get back to the top when it comes to racing. They tell me that I ll never be
able to make anything out of racing. I believe in myself and I am confident that I can. When people,
say these put downs, it encourages me to train even harder and do everything I can to make sure I
never lose the thing I love again. Now, those people look at me and wish they knew what was going
on in my mind that pushed me to prove them wrong. After years of hard work and countless hours at
the gym and on the track practicing, I was offered a full ride sponsorship with a local track. This
sponsorship has given me the opportunity of a lifetime! I have a racing dirt bike with free

Egoism In Ayn Rand s Anthem
In Ayn Rand s book Anthem, The character Equality 7 2521 also known as Prometheus ran into the
uncharted forest after being told that his box of light was a sin to create because he now knew more
than his brother s in the uncharted forest he found out that the golden one had followed him. Then the
two uncovered homes from the unmentionable times. In the uncharted forest he discovered the
unspeakable word Ego . Throughout the book he expressed traits of an Egoist. But in the book because
prometheus had been in a dystopian society where they had to think of themselves and their brothers
as a whole they were not allowed to think of themselves. So was Prometheus really a egoist? Or was it
just his little bit of selfish coming out after not ever being allowed to think about himself?
The sacred word is Ego. no one is allowed to speak this word in this dystopian society that Ayn Rand
creates in the book Anthem. When Equality was young he saw a man being burned at the steak for
discovering the unspeakable word from the unmentionable times. He said that the man being burned
was not screaming out in pain or asking for it to stop but rather he was smiling at Equality. Equality
said that it was like the man was trying to mouth the unspeakable word to Equality. The way that Ayn
Rand had Equality describe the man it seemed that he was different then the rest of the people that
Equality grew up with and knew. He seemed happier. As Equality grew up he felt different than the

on the trees in the background help to add a sense of desire to be outdoors on such a day, especially if
Canada is home. The colours and bright lighting help translate signifiers of hope and future in life s
many gifts that nature has to offer. The image is very clear and crisp, hiding nothing from the eye;
providing total transparency to the viewer. The railing, column and roof covering creates white space,

The use of blank grey space focuses the audience s eyes on the women, and language in the middle of
the page. The designers chose to only show the woman s faces below their noses, which enables the
audience to scan the photo passively, without making direct eye contact with the characters. This was
likely decided to make the viewer feel at ease in such a personal frame. The use of coding is scarce,
the women are completely bare; no clothes, jewelry, nail polish, even their hair is fully tied up. This
design decision helps to remove any indexes except the global symbol of breast cancer, and colour
pink. Connecting to the arts and crafts movement, the design is simplistic; enough detail to intrigue
but not so much that the mind is confused, which further compounds the symbol of breast cancer to
the audience. These women are meant to represent any woman at any given point in time, no single

A Short Note On Maximal Oxygen Consumption ( Vo2max )
Introduction Maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max), the highest recorded rate of oxygen
consumption during a graded and exhaustive exercise test, is a top indicator of cardio pulmonary
endurance in humans and is believed to correlate with overall health (Strijk, Proper, Klaver, Beek,
Mechelen, 2010). VO2max of an individual declines with age regardless of exercise status, but
exercise may lead to a significantly slower decline in VO2max during the aging process (Katzel,
Sorkin, Fleg, 2001) Many factors related to aging such as decrease of maximal heart rate, stroke
volume, the gain of body mass, decreased muscle mass, and decreased health status are thought to be
the primary contributing factors leading to a decline in VO2max (Grimsmo, Arnesen, Maehlum,
2010). Individuals that have decreased their physical activity levels or developed health problems had
a greater decline in VO2max values, over a longitudinal study, than their healthy counterparts
(Grimsmo et al., 2010). Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) affects individuals by causing
airflow restriction, impairing their exercise capacity (Ortega, Montemayor, Sanchez, Cabello, 1995). A
VO2max test has the ability to help identify COPD that may not have been apparent prior to this test
and can indicate the severity of the disease (Ortega et al, 1995). One metabolic equivalent of task
(MET) is the amount of energy used to sit in a chair for one minute which is equivalent to a VO2max
value of 3.5ml/kg/min

American Indian Speech
11/28 English speech Today, I am talking about the book: The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time
Indian. It is an incredibly funny book, told in the matter of fact voice of a fourteen year old Native
American boy, but at the same time, it is incredibly sad. The main character is a Native American boy
called Junior. He lives his life on the Spokane Indian Reservation with two alcoholic parents. With the
encouragement of a teacher, he decides to transfer to a school outside of the reservation, a primarily
white school, in order to pursue a better education and a better future. There are lots of hardships that
Junior faces. He is bullied constantly, his family is extremely poor, and several people close to him
pass away due to alcohol. At the white school, he faces discrimination because he is the only Native
American in a school full of white people. People make racist jokes to his face. Back on the ... Show

ancestral lands to specially marked territories. Thousands of people died along the way. Nowadays,
there are reservations where the U.S. government gives managing power of a certain piece of land to
Native American tribes. There are often problems of poverty, drinking, and gambling on the

Comparing Soccer and Water Polo Essay examples
The history of sports dates back before the discovery of America or even the birth of Jesus Christ.
Sports have been in a constant evolution ever since their introduction to the world, such as Tsu Chu to
soccer or polo to water polo. Although soccer and water polo are popular in America today many
athletes have come to love these two unique sports. Both sports are physically exhausting, demanding
all an athlete has to offer to the game. They test the limit of the body and push it into the next level of
competition. To a new comer these two vicious sports seem drastically different, but when it comes to
the basics no two sports could be more alike. Soccer is a sport widely known and loved throughout
Europe, but little in the United ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just like soccer, water polo is extremely popular within Europe, but in the States the demand for the
sport is not as high. It is played in a pool that is twenty five meters long. Water polo unlike soccer
restricts a player to the use of one their hands at a time. The player must tread water, while being able
to catch and throw the ball with one hand, along with a defender trying to pull him or her under water.
The pool consists of two goals, and two teams of seven trying to put the polo ball in the opponents net.
Just like a soccer player would use his or her foot work to get around a defender, the polo player uses
moves to break free from the defender and advance down the pool. Teams will wear matching
uniforms, but since they are in water they wear head caps with their number and team color on it, so
they can differentiate the players. Players must survive four quarters of seven minutes, while only
being allowed thirty five seconds to have possession of the ball. But once that time has expired the
ball is handed to the other team. When it comes to rules, referees are very picky and allow very little
foul play. One common ground for both sports would be the use of a ball about the same size. Along
with the flow of the game, since players are constantly on the move to either defend the ball, score, or
get the ball away from their opponent. Soccer and water polo are both in need for the speed of a quick
and smart player who is willing to

The Importance Of Freedom In American History
The country of America is built on the idea of freedom. Early colonists fought a war to gain freedom
from Britain, and once they won, made sure to give their newly earned rights to America s citizens.
Everything else in American History has been based off of this idea, such as when the Civil War was
fought over the controversy of slaves freedom. Elena s experiences in American History by Judith
Ortiz Cofer reflect all of the freedoms that American citizens get. As a result of her family s
immigration to the U.S., Elena benefits from freedoms that were established by the founding of
America. The Constitution gives people the rights to free speech and religion, and because of these
rights, she gets to interact with people of different cultures and beliefs than her own by going to public
school. She claims that she was going to college and become a teacher (296), which shows that in
America she has the freedom to be who she wants to be. Additionally, she is allowed to make many
decisions for herself, such as something as simple as trying to be friends with Eugene, a white
neighbor, or something as big as having a say in how the country is run when she is old enough,
through America s democracy. Because she is in America, she is not forced to work. In a lot of other
countries, children are made to do hard labor, but in America, Elena is allowed to be a kid and play.
All of these freedoms attract people to the U.S, and Elena s family moved to America because they

understand what means to be human. The sources we used were the most ancient epic myth known by
human society, the views from a behavioral primatologist, a Jewish philosopher, a theologian, and two
novels. These resources helped us in class to think critically about the authors works, about our own
concepts, beliefs, and about the humans relationships, actions, and what might drives us towards to

Therefore, the beliefs we have in life have a huge effect in how we face our adversities, and behave. I

Similarities And Differences Between Socialism And Socialism
Socialism
Socialism is a economic and political system in which the means of production operate under public
political ownership, sometimes called common ownership. Common ownership under socialism may
take shape through technocratic, oligarchic, totalitarian, democratic or even voluntary rule. All legal
production and distribution decisions are made by the ruling class.
Historical examples of socialist countries include the Nazi Germany and Soviet Union. Today s
examples include Venezuela, Cuba and China. Due to its practical challenges and poor track record,
socialism is sometimes referred to as a utopian or post scarcity system, although modern adherents
believe it could work if properly implemented.
A slogan for socialism is from each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The government should not interfere in the economies of the free market, meaning, the market
determines investments, production, distribution and decisions, and government interference is only
allowed when making and enforcing rules or policies governing the conduct of business. There is a
need for continual production and purchase for a capitalistic economy to operate efficiently, and
Capitalists believe that government does not use economic resources as efficiently as private
enterprise.
Differences between Capitalism and Socialism
1. The economic system, in which the trade and industry are owned and controlled by private
individuals is known as Capitalism. Socialism, on the other hand, is also an economic system, where
the economic activities are owned and regulated by the state itself.
2. The basis of capitalism is the principal of individual rights, whereas socialism is based on the
principle of equality.

Environmental Sustainability Of The Airport
3. Mitigating environmental dis benefits of the plan for sustainability
The identified dis benefits of the plan in section 2 are not always eliminated but can be reduced to the

planning for future because a careless actions at the present may have huge negative impact on the

3.1 Mitigations of noise pollution
Noise pollution cannot be fully eliminated but as stated before, it can be reduced to an acceptable
level. Effects of noise varies greatly depending on the types of source, location of the recipient and the
time of production. Hence, the noise produced by the aviation industry and its related operations are
mitigated by different techniques and methods, which are as follows.
Design changes: Reduction of noise at the source such as exhausts from aircrafts and ground vehicles,
airframe noise and power plants via noise reduction technologies. Especially regarding aircrafts, they
have become quitter over the years as the technological advancement in propulsion system of the
aircraft has allowed the manufacturers to build less noisy aircrafts compared to its predecessors [9]. A
possible future solution for the noise pollution relating to combustion aircrafts could be electric

Henry Clay, John C. Calhoun, And Daniel Webster And Their...
Perhaps the three most influential men in the pre Civil War era were Henry Clay, John C. Calhoun,
and Daniel Webster. These men all died nearly a decade before the civil war began, but they didn t
know how much they would effect it. States rights was a very controversial issue, and one which had
strong opposition and radical proposals coming from both sides. John C. Calhoun was in favor of
giving states the power to nullify laws that they saw unconstitutional, and he presented this theory in
his Doctrine of Nullification . Daniel Webster strongly disagreed with this proposal and showed this
by giving powerful support to President Jackson in resisting the attempt by South Carolina to nullify

The secession of South Carolina from the Union was the most extreme way that the South argued for
states rights. John C. Calhoun was, perhaps, best remembered for his part in inspiring the South s
effort to achieve national independence in the Civil War, even though it took place nearly twelve years
after his death.
Daniel Webster was one of the best orators in the United States during his time and, perhaps, ever.
While arguing that the Constitution had created a single, unified nation he put up strong opposition to
nullification. When Webster spoke on the senate floor, he left everyone in awe. He was a magnificent
lawyer and a convincing speaker. Daniel Webster was probably best remembered for his role in the
short story The Devil and Daniel Webster .
Henry Clay was, perhaps, the greatest compromiser of all time, authoring such documents as the
Missouri Compromise, the Compromise of 1850, and the 1833 compromise bill that gradually lowered
the tariff which the South had been so angry about. His view on states rights was that they should
work with the federal government to come to come to a compromise on the issue. Henry Clay was
best remembered for his support of the Compromise of 1850.

catholic in a rough period in England when the anti Roman period was reaching new heights. This of
course caused problems for him until the 1590 s when he returned to London from his studies abroad
in Theological issues and converted to the English church. During these early days of his life, Donne
converted because his brother was imprisoned for being Catholic and later died in prison. With Donne
now in the English Church writing he soon became the secretary to Sir Thomas Egerton, Lord Keeper
of the great seal. While for many this would prove to be the beginning of a great career, it would soon
end. This was because he secretly married the teen niece of Egerton, Ann More, in 1601. He was then
forced to move away to the countryside living in a poverty stricken lifestyle. Although having twelve
kids and living in poverty seems horrible, Donne still thrived in his poetry. According to Wendy
Smith, Poetry written during those years limns an ecstatic physical and emotional union with an
intelligent, passionate companion. Perhaps this blissful society of two was the home Donne had been
looking for (7). However, his wife died and his poetry took another unexpected turn, as it became
more dark and not as full of love. As the years went on Donne slowly began to get sick more

Iago Is The Focaling Character In Shakespeare s Othello
In some plays or books, the title character is in the focal role. However, this is not the case for other
books where characters in the title character s orbit are the focal role. In Othello this is how it works.
Othello is not the focal role in this play Othello, but it concentrates more on the character that
manipulates Othello and everybody else the most, Iago. Othello is not the focal role because he does
not do much in the book. Iago is the one that controls most of the story. He commands the attention of
the audience and serves as the central figure of the action in the play. He earns the trust of people and
then uses it against them. He claims to be honest and everybody thinks he is, but he is very disloyal
and lies all the time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Shakespeare 1.3.332 333,336 339)
This shows that it was evident to Iago that Othello was easy to manipulate. He knew that Othello
would believe anything he said because Othello saw Iago as an honest man. So Iago used his
gullibility to his advantage and told Othello all kinds of suspicions about his wife and Cassio that
Othello began to believe.
Iago is definitely the focal role in Othello. We follow him more than any other character, especially
Othello. ... think about the fact that Iago is often our focus in this play. We follow his storyline more

and is able to adapt his tone and style to suit any occasion ( Villainous Role of Iago in Othello ).

reason or just plain evil, Iago manipulates every character in the play and ruins their

The Destruction Of The Ganges River In The United States
Pete Seeger sang, sailing up my dirty stream, still I love it and I ll keep the dream . All around the
world, rivers that are culturally and economically important are being polluted. Three examples of this
unfortunate phenomena are the Ganges River in India, the Han River in Korea, and the Hudson River
in the United States.
Hindus consider the Ganges to be the goddess Ganga personified. They believe that bathing in the
river is cleansing, resulting in the forgiveness of sins and salvation. All people, it is believed, should
experience this sacred river at least once in their life. Many important festivals take place along the
banks of this river. The Ganges River also irrigates a large area of farmland, where rice, sugarcane,
lentils and wheat are grown. Unfortunately, the Ganges River has been polluted by sewage, trash,
food, and human and animal remains, and industrial waste. Water borne illnesses, including cholera,
hepatitis, typhoid and amoebic dysentery are widespread. Although a very important river to the
people of India, the Ganges is also a very polluted river. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ganghwa Island, at the mouth of the river, guards the only water route to the capital, Seoul. The Han
River has long been used as a route for trade, diplomacy, and cultural and technological exchange with
China by way of the Yellow Sea. Even today Psy sings about the importance of living south of the
river. These days, the Han River is still important, providing drinking water and irrigation for
agriculture and generating hydroelectric power. However, the Han River is also polluted. There is
industrial pollution, as well as farm runoff containing fertilizers, insecticides, and manure from area
farms. These pollutants result in gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases for the people who depend
on this river. The Han River is another example of an important river that has been terribly

The Structural Transformation Of The Public Sphere...
Literature Review Jurgen Habermas can be seen as one of the founders of the term and details the idea
of refeudalization in their novel The Structural Transformation of the Public Sphere in which he writes
how the bourgeois public sphere eroded because of economic and structural changes. The boundaries
between state and society blurred, leading to a kind of refeudalization of society. (Habermas, 1989).
Essentially state and society became involved in each other s spheres and large non governmental
organizations replaced the old institutions of the public sphere. Furthermore, where the public sphere
takes on a feudal aspect is the process of politicians and organizations representing themselves before
the voters. (Habermas, 1989). These ideas are then further explained in more contemporary contexts
by Alain Supiot writing that primarily of the refeudalization of law but also ignorance of the
organization of powers underpinning the government by laws is taking us back to government by men,
that is, to feudal ways of hybridizing the public and the private. (Supiot, 2013). Then further clarifying
that Western feudalism today is the dependency between people having a legal character where there
are status differences and the dependent party may be granted possession, but it is burdened by the
obligations to the benefit of the grantor. (Supiot, 2013). Supiot does however put forward the idea that
refeudalization of law does not mean a return to the middle ages but

Cu1565 Promote Creativity and Creative Essay
CU1565 Promote Creativity and Creative
Learning in Young Children
1.1 Analyse the differences between creative learning and creativity.
Creative learning is about how children are actively involved in their own learning, and their ability to
make choices and decisions. This can be achieved through providing a creative environment, allowing
exploration through play and praising creative efforts.
Creativity is about risk taking and making connections, allowing children to explore and express
themselves through a variety of media or materials including, dance, music, making things, drawing,
painting and make believe and to make new things emerge as a result. Being creative is strongly
linked to play and can emerge through a

2.1 Demonstrate in own practice how to promote creativity and creative learning.
For example, during a cooking activity children are learning many skills through the creative process.
They may feel happy and excited about creating their own food. They are sociable by working with
adults to assist them and cooking for their friends or family members. By following instructions either
written or verbal and measuring quantities they are being allowed to develop intellectually. Knowing
when to ask for help and starting a dialogue around what they are doing and using can help develop
communication skills especially listening and taking direction. Finally all the mixing, chopping,
kneading and picking up small cut up pieces are physically developing the fine motor skills, hand eye
co ordination and building hand and arm muscles.
2.2 Explain why young children require extended and unhurried periods of time to develop their
creativity.
An unhurried period of creativity gives children time to explore and experiment with materials and use
them in their own way. It also allows children to do their best work by moving from popular to more
original ideas and being able to come back to it at a later date to finish.
3.1 Explain the feature of an environment that supports creativity and creative learning.
A creative environment needs to allow children easy access to different materials and be able to move
these from one place to another. It is not just about

Summary Of The Conquest Of Hawaii
After reading the article, The Conquest of Hawaii, my understanding of how Hawaii became a part of
the United States has changed drastically. Originally, I had thought that Hawaii was conquered by the
Europeans with reckless violence and torture towards the Hawaiians like how the Europeans
conquered the Native American s land. I also had thought that the modern Hawaiian attitudes towards
becoming U.S. citizens were narrow minded and hard headed because it was their land that the
Europeans were taking away. After reading the article, I learned that Hawaii wasn t automatically
conquered, but violence did occur and the Hawaiian s attitude towards annexation was supportive.
According to the article, the conquest of the Hawaii started when a group ... Show more content on

production suffered and starvation left many Natives in violent deaths. By 1843, whalers arrived
Hawaii about the same time as the missioners did and by that time whaling became common in
Hawaii. While Hawaiian merchants and chiefs got richer from the whaling industry, most Native
Hawaiians suffered greatly. Hawaiians were excellent merchants, and young men were hired as
sailors. Large numbers of native sailors on their journey did not return. Prostitution flourished, and
native women were left barren by the very diseases spread by others. In 1778, when Cook arrived the

A Brief Article On Being An Atheist
Response Paper on H.J. McCloskey article On being an atheist
Name

During the year 1968, an atheist philosopher H.J. McCloskey came up with a powerful argument
about how being an atheist was greater than the theistic way of life. Through this article, McCloskey
finds a way to condemn numerous arguments which theist consider as true and in most cases seem to
mock and impeach the believers of God. Some of the arguments that McCloskey tries to diminish are
the three mutual proofs that most theists depend upon for their belief in God. The proofs include;
cosmological proof, teleological proof and the argument from design. McCloskey also talks about the
complications of evil and how its presence rejects the truth about God. At the end of the article, he
maintains that atheism is heartening, meaning that it is more calming than theism. Below are a
detailed discussion and validity of the truth about the three claims that McCloskey wants to rebate in
the article and finally dispute the problem of evil to censure the thought that atheism is cool and
comforting1.
McCloskey mostly insults the theistic opinion as one of ignorance and ambiguity. Referring to the
believers of God, he say they do not think hard enough nor far enough about the difficulty of an
uncaused reason, who has to be a unavoidably existing being to prove that the argument is far less
conclusive than it appears to be at first sight. In addition, his reference of theists as being ignorant is

Biological Transformation Of Bacteria And Pglo Plasmid Dna
Abstract: Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering are highly involved with the genetic transformation
of bacteria with the help of plasmid DNA. Genetic engineering ultimately alters genetic information
using genetic material from another organism. The objective of the experiment was to accomplish
genetic transformation using E.coli bacteria and pGLO plasmid DNA. PGLO carries an enzyme
named β lactamase that offers resistance to the ampicillin antibiotic. Therefore, bacterial cells can
grow and reproduce using pGLO. Four transformation plates containing E.coli were segregated into 2
groups of experimental and control groups. Two experimental plates comprised pGLO, but the control
plates did not. One experimental plate contained ampicillin and pGLO. The second experimental plate
consisted of ampicillin and arabinose along with pGLO. Contrarily, one control plate simply had
ampicillin. The second control plate only stored E.coli cells. The results accepted the hypothesis since
only the experimental plate with pGLO, ampillin and arabinose emitted green fluorescent light under
UV light. This confirms that bacteria emit green flourescent light under UV light only when paired
with pGLO and arabinose. However, other experiments have proven how modifying and using other
plasmid DNA material can alter results substantially. Therefore, bacteria are certainly sensitive to the
DNA material that is transforming them. It is undoubtedly beneficial to use the most advantageous

Queen Victoria and Her Influence on British Society Essay
In the year 1819, one of Britain s greatest monarchs was born. Her name was Alexandrina Victoria.
(Price Groff 13) She would be remembered for the young age at which she inherited the throne, but
also for the confidence expressed in learning to master the techniques of ruling justly. When Victoria
became Queen, England was already a constitutional monarchy. Government policies (laws) were
made by the lawmakers and Prime Minister of Parliament, who were elected by the people. Because
of the Industrial Revolution, the British experienced rapid progression in technology. This change was
enjoyed by some, while others felt threatened. (4) Victoria made her subjects feel secure by assuring
them she was there to lead. Queen Victoria ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The duchess of Kent secretly hoped George IV and William IV would die before Victoria s eighteenth
birthday, because she would be pronounced regent, (a person who acts for a monarch) therefore giving
Conroy a considerable amount of power also. (Price Groff 13) In 1830, the year Victoria was eleven,
King George IV died, and William was crowned King. Victoria s nurse, Fraulein Lehzen, showed the
princess a chart of the family lineage, making it clear to her that when her Uncle William died, she
would inherit the throne. Governess Lehzen wrote of this episode and recorded Victoria s response to
the information made known to her: I see I am nearer to the throne than I thought...I will be good! (14)
Two years later, Sir Conroy and the duchess planned and prepared regular tours through England. The
purpose of these annual excursions was to acquaint Victoria with her future subjects, and help her gain
familiarity with the people. To further prepare her, Victoria s Uncle Leopold wrote many letters of
advice on matters of state. (14, 15) On June 20, 1837, just four months after her eighteenth birthday,
Victoria was paid a visit by the Archbishop of Canterbury, and Lord Conyngham. (Chamberlain)
These men informed her of her Uncle William s death, but then bowed before her honoring their new
Queen. Her coronation day was set for June 28, 1838. (Kirwan, 190) Victoria came to the throne, the

Tallerman Co Pty Ltd v Nathan s Merchandise (Vic) Pty Ltd (1957) 98 CLR 93 PART I Summary of
Facts The dispute occurred in Victoria between a registered company, Tallerman Co Pty Ltd ( the
plaintiff ) and an incorporated company, Nathan s Merchandise Pty Ltd. ( the defendant), where both
parties operated their business. Two previous binding contracts (orders No. 58 and No. M57) were
made in communications on 14th May 1951 and 2nd August 1951 respectively, each for the sale by
the plaintiff to the defendant of 1,000,000 Hungarian .22 bullets. A consignment of 1,800,000 bullets

Kitto J. verified that whether or not an existing contract is considered to have been rescinded, depends
on the intention of the parties involved. When examining the two critical correspondences of 21st
March 1952/ June 4th 1952, it was held that no intention by the defendant to discharge the previous
1951 contracts was found; the letters of offer and acceptance did not constitute a new and substituted
contract, and hence all conditions of the earlier contracts were to be binding. Assuming that the
contracts is of variation, the final substantial issue to be anlaysed was whether the Plaintiff s
acceptance of the original contracts was effective for the Defendant to be in breach of its terms.
Decision The appeal failed. As the plaintiff voluntarily confined itself to the two correspondences and
thus chose not to sue in Victoria, these two letters, under New South Wales law, did not amount to a
new contract, and the plaintiff was not protected by the offer and acceptance rule. The majority
embraced the view that the result was tried on a conventional basis and would have been judged
differently if the Plaintiff had not demanded the case to be determined in Sydney. PART III
Implications of decisions for the principles of offer and acceptance The general rule for an agreement

The Mariah Carey Christmas Special 2014
The concert that I have selected for my review is the Mariah Carey Christmas special 2014. The
concert took place on December 16 at the beacon theater in New York City and it lasted for
approximately an hour. The concert opened with a performance by a ballerina with classical music.
Then followed by the entrance of Mariah Carey, who was at the center of the stage. The visual of the
concert I have to say personally was amazing and impressive, it had a big Christmas tree in the back
and background with the stars and snowflakes hang from the ceilings, very Christmas like to me. Her
band was dressed in white; she had backup singers and a choir right behind her. She began her concert
with the famous Hark! The Herald Angels Sing / Gloria, personally I was moved by the way she sang
that song, it was moving, it provokes many emotions to me, however this is a song that has a lot of
high notes and it was very hard to hear her voice because she was not able to sing it the way she did.
Although she did not preform this song like she used to, I have to admit that it made me cry a little, it
such a beautiful song and even though she made have sang it under peach, I appreciated her voice and
she was still able to make the song her and put a lot of emotions to it. She seemed to be singing under
notes in other songs that she performed as well. The rhythm was very smooth and the melody was on
point, she was able to hit with a soft approach the lower pitches, however when it came to the high

ABSTRACT
The GTRE GTX 35VS Kaveri is an afterburning gas turbine engine that was developed by the Gas
Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE) division of the Defence Research and Development
Organisation (DRDO). In 1989, the DRDO started developing the GTX 35VS Kaveri engine as an
indigenous power plantto replace the General Electric F404 engines that were initially set to power the
Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), the Tejas, designed by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA)
and manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). The Kaveri Engine has a higher thrust,
both dry and wet thrust, than the SNECMA M88. However, due to the Kaveri engine not being able to
satisfy the performance requirements for the LCA, and several delays and cost overruns, the GTX
35VS was decoupled from theTejas programme in late 2008.
A case study of the GTRE GTX 35VS Kaveri engine is being done to look at the engine that was
developed over the 25 year programme, and the shortfalls of the engine design are being analysed
using information, and documents that have been declassified. The Kaveri project has now been
disbanded, and has been used as the foundation point for the successors being called the K9+ and the
K10, being developed for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), and the final version

Auteurs Film Analysis
The idea of auteurship is one that is surrounded by the domineering presence of the white male, with
little exception: a simple Google search of film auteurs produces thousands of results of websites
listing off the likes of Paul Thomas Anderson, Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, and David Lynch.
However, one early female filmmaker who, like too many other important women of the past, has
been mostly buried by history stands above the rest. Often viewed in the same regard as male
contemporaries such as D. W. Griffith, Lois Weber used her platform as a universally acclaimed
creator (at the time) to make socially conscious films that advocated the underprivileged. Although her

Introduction
Think back to one of your earliest memories, perhaps a memory of being frightened as a young child,
or being delighted by a new experience or sensation. Why is it that we remember certain events in our
life that are triggered by a deep or intense emotion, but we cannot remember what we had for lunch
last Tuesday? The way in which we relate to the world is so heavily influenced by our memories, and
in part by the emotions in which we felt when we experienced said event. If once as a teen you were
nearly hit by a car when crossing a road, you future interactions with road crossings is probably going
to be a slightly more heightened event than if you had never experienced such an event.
The same phenomenon is evident in the way in which we learn also. If you had to write an English
paper as a teen about the turbulent love story of Romeo and Juliet whilst experiencing a breakup with
your high school sweetheart, the story will probably be attached in your memory forever, even more
so because the emotions expressed in the story are very similar to what you yourself are experiencing.
We have all had the experience of hearing a certain song or smelling a certain perfume whilst we are
experiencing an intense, mind rattling emotion hearing said song in the future could be like reliving
the entire event, physiologically and mentally.

The Healing Of A Healing Hospital
A hospital is a place that people go to for healing and help. Many associate fear with hospitals due to
previous experiences. Rather than relaxing and having optimal time to heal, hospitals can create
stressful environments for patients as well as employees. A new type of hospital setting breaking out
in the healthcare industry are healing hospitals that provides a patient centered environment. In this
paper I will discuss the aspects of a healing hospital, its relationship to spirituality, the challenges of
creating a healing environment, and finally the biblical aspects of a healing hospital.
What is a Healing Hospital?
A healing hospital is a place that is patient centric and focuses on making the patient relaxed and allow
healing in a peaceful environment. The three aspects of a healing hospital include a quiet environment,
integrating technology into care, and providing compassionate care to patients. These components are
beneficial to both hospital staff and patients. By providing a noise free environment caregivers are less
apt to get distracted (Eberst, 2008, pg. 78). When hospital staff have a calm environment where they
can think through situations, the right decision is more likely to be made. Distractions can be
detrimental to the health of a patient. Nurses should be confident in their decision making process and
know that they are making the right choice. Using technology efficiently in healthcare can speed up
results which allows doctors to create a

The Importance Of Safe Sex In America
The reason why high risk sex still occurs among the well educated reasonably affluent Americans is
because in the heat of the moment they tend not to think about it. It s more that they think about the
lust and passion they re having for the other person that is distracting their mind even if they re
knowledgeable on the subject of safe sex. I believe that people should really focus on protecting
themselves from diseases by keeping protection always on you if you feel that it s likely that you will
end up in a eventful night that day. Education plays a huge role in educating children around their teen
years and above about how they can protect themselves from sexual transmitted diseases, and what
they are. Studies has shown that a well implemented

However, in an identical case of Storer v Manchester City Council (1974), Mr Storer puts in a bid to
purchase his council property and he was forwarded an Agreement for Sale of a Council House form
which he signed and posted it back to the Council. The council received his reply before the political
reform affecting the sales of house to council tenants transpired. The Council contended that the Sale
of Agreement Form to sell the Council House was not an offer and in this instance no contract was
contracted. However, the Judges failed to agree and ruled that the form was indeed an offer
immediately Mr Storer signed the form and forwarded it back to the Council. It is pertinent to point
out the differences between these two similar cases. In the case of Mr Gibson no Agreement for Sale
was prepared and Mr Gibson did not sign. Whereas for Mr Storer s case there was an agreement;
consequently, the bargaining has been done and an agreement attained. Acceptance: Is defined by

Social Fit Research Paper
The college that I researched on is Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I am going to talk about the
social fit, financial fit, and academic fit. I am also going to talk about and see if this college is the right
college for me and if I should have this as my dream college. Massachusetts Institute of Technology
(MIT) has a great background with it having the first female institute professor, Mildred Dresselhaus,
they also had the lunar mapping, great depression service and had the Edison gift. MIT also has a great
impact such as being committed to solving the world s most pressing problems. They also have a
cancer research and they provide public service for those who are in need. Massachusetts Institute of
Technology is an extremely competitive University to be able to get accepted to. And that is mostly
from its high requirements in educational purposes. For example, in their GPA requirements you
should be getting around a 4.13 or higher. As for ACT and SAT scores, the typical ACT scores are
around 33 35, and the typical SAT scores for reading is 680 770, writing is 690 780, and for math is
740 800. Now you can see how competitive this school actually is. However, MIT has five schools,
which are Architecture and Planning; engineering; humanities, arts and social sciences; management
and science. MIT also offers over 30 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Brisbane is the capital of Queensland and is a amazing and modern city set on the Brisbane River. The
Brisbane river flows northeast for some 345km and goes through the Brisbane City and Moreton bay.

Brisbane has had many catastrophic floods in the past including the great flood of 1893 and 1974. The
subtropical climate in Brisbane is mostly effected by El Niño and La Niña. El Niño and La Niña is
perhaps one of the strongest influence on the year to year climate to Australia. Together, La Niña

Community Engagement In The Community
Engaging ourselves as well as engaging in the community with issues of our society makes us open to
different things. Community engagement is the process of working with individuals and groups to
achieve specific goals. It involves community members with making decisions and taking action. This
process of creating a relationship with community members in society that can maintain a mission
with an ultimate goal of making something better. It s an ongoing process with collaborative work,
cooperative dialogue, collective decisions and shared ownership. There are many different activities
that community engagement is involved with, which are community service, internships, voter s
registration, service learning and etc. The primary focus of community engagement is the practice of
moving communities towards change.
The transformation from high school to college was very big for me. Only because I was a loner and I
didn t really get involved with groups nor did I have a social life outside of playing basketball. When I
came to college I made up in my mind that I was going to change. Once I was introduced to the four
pathways that Methodist offered I decide to choose community engagement. Community engagement
fits me best because it gives me a chance to interact with people and also voices my opinion. I wanted
to work on enhancing this aspect because I m a very shy person with a lot to say. The program would
also give me some good information to learn from and gain knowledge.

  • 2. Descriptive Essay About Bed And Breakfast Around 8:00 am the next morning, my mother and I headed down the stairs descending from the lighthouse. Being a bed and breakfast, our first meal of the day was, of course, provided by the owners. When we reached the patio, we were taken aback by the delightful setting. We lounged in rocking chairs facing the lake, small mugs of hot coffee in hand, and soaked up the rays of the morning sun as we took in the beautiful view for the last time. Minutes later, the owner of the bed and breakfast came out from the house holding two plates of food. We took our seats at the little table, decorated delicately with lace placemats and crystal glasses, and breathed in the sweet scent of our scrumptious looking breakfasts. We were each ... Whatever it was, we found it to be beautiful and we wanted to remember it forever. Our first official stop of the day was actually a town named Mooresville. Mooresville was a very petite town, so much so it was more of a neighborhood, which was known for its history. We began our experience by visiting a tiny cafe located on the main street of the town. The establishment was filled with antiques, artifacts and art. Considering we had just eaten a very filling breakfast, we did not order any kind of refreshments, instead walking through and glancing at the items while chatting with the barista. After leaving the cafe, we began touring the rest of the area, first stopping to study the church I had previously read about. Mostly, it was a simple church but acting as a steeple was a hand with one finger extended, pointing towards the sky. The architect who constructed the plans for the building added this special detail. His purpose for the symbol was to help lost souls find their way to heaven. We then ended our experience of Mooresville by driving through several of the short streets, admiring the ancient shacks that made the historical landmark so authentic. We had planned to spend a larger expanse of time in Mooresville and then head to lunch after. Due to the meager size ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She wants to see what she can conclude from her experiences. In this article she tells us about her first hand accounts of this through introspection (Lakoff 46). Robin tells us about what language use can tell us about the nature of inequality (Lakoff 45). The author also talks about the subservient functions of women and the roles that sexes play in society (Lakoff 45). Explaining to the audience examples of this in everyday life and language makes the audience feel like something must be done. She tells us about her first hand experiences of this, which cause the reader to sympathize for her (Lakoff 46). The author thinks that we will find two different ways of discrimination women face in language. The author explains the way that women are taught to use language and the way that general language treats them (Lakoff 46). This is where the reader starts to see the problems that women may face. • 5. History Of Kennesaw State University The UA is the oldest public college in the state of Alabama. It opened in April of 1831 and students began to enroll May of 1831. They first offered engineering, then later opened medical school. In 1860 the University of Alabama was officially established as a military school. Figuring out how you are going to pay for college is the second most important thing and it makes a decision easier. I am still in high school working a full time job at Belk. I give myself a budget for every two weeks and put the rest of my money in savings. I look up scholarships daily and am applying for as many as I can. $50 $10,000 scholarship is better than nothing and it keeps me out of debt at the end and that is what matters. I will also be taking out student loans to help and my parents will be doing as much as they can. I ask myself questions like Do I need to go to school because their football team is amazing or Do I need to focus on the long run and Is going to Kennesaw going to get me just as good of job as Alabama and save me a little bit more money . • 11. A Short Note On Maximal Oxygen Consumption ( Vo2max ) Introduction Maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max), the highest recorded rate of oxygen consumption during a graded and exhaustive exercise test, is a top indicator of cardio pulmonary endurance in humans and is believed to correlate with overall health (Strijk, Proper, Klaver, Beek, Mechelen, 2010). VO2max of an individual declines with age regardless of exercise status, but exercise may lead to a significantly slower decline in VO2max during the aging process (Katzel, Sorkin, Fleg, 2001) Many factors related to aging such as decrease of maximal heart rate, stroke volume, the gain of body mass, decreased muscle mass, and decreased health status are thought to be the primary contributing factors leading to a decline in VO2max (Grimsmo, Arnesen, Maehlum, 2010). Individuals that have decreased their physical activity levels or developed health problems had a greater decline in VO2max values, over a longitudinal study, than their healthy counterparts (Grimsmo et al., 2010). Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) affects individuals by causing airflow restriction, impairing their exercise capacity (Ortega, Montemayor, Sanchez, Cabello, 1995). A VO2max test has the ability to help identify COPD that may not have been apparent prior to this test and can indicate the severity of the disease (Ortega et al, 1995). Water polo unlike soccer restricts a player to the use of one their hands at a time. The player must tread water, while being able to catch and throw the ball with one hand, along with a defender trying to pull him or her under water. The pool consists of two goals, and two teams of seven trying to put the polo ball in the opponents net. Just like a soccer player would use his or her foot work to get around a defender, the polo player uses moves to break free from the defender and advance down the pool. Teams will wear matching uniforms, but since they are in water they wear head caps with their number and team color on it, so they can differentiate the players. Players must survive four quarters of seven minutes, while only being allowed thirty five seconds to have possession of the ball. But once that time has expired the ball is handed to the other team. When it comes to rules, referees are very picky and allow very little foul play. One common ground for both sports would be the use of a ball about the same size. Everything else in American History has been based off of this idea, such as when the Civil War was fought over the controversy of slaves freedom. Elena s experiences in American History by Judith Ortiz Cofer reflect all of the freedoms that American citizens get. The Constitution gives people the rights to free speech and religion, and because of these rights, she gets to interact with people of different cultures and beliefs than her own by going to public school. She claims that she was going to college and become a teacher (296), which shows that in America she has the freedom to be who she wants to be. Additionally, she is allowed to make many decisions for herself, such as something as simple as trying to be friends with Eugene, a white neighbor, or something as big as having a say in how the country is run when she is old enough, through America s democracy. Because she is in America, she is not forced to work. In a lot of other countries, children are made to do hard labor, but in America, Elena is allowed to be a kid and play. Literature Review Jurgen Habermas can be seen as one of the founders of the term and details the idea of refeudalization in their novel The Structural Transformation of the Public Sphere in which he writes how the bourgeois public sphere eroded because of economic and structural changes. The boundaries between state and society blurred, leading to a kind of refeudalization of society. (Habermas, 1989). Essentially state and society became involved in each other s spheres and large non governmental organizations replaced the old institutions of the public sphere. Furthermore, where the public sphere takes on a feudal aspect is the process of politicians and organizations representing themselves before the voters. (Habermas, 1989). These ideas are then further explained in more contemporary contexts by Alain Supiot writing that primarily of the refeudalization of law but also ignorance of the organization of powers underpinning the government by laws is taking us back to government by men, that is, to feudal ways of hybridizing the public and the private. • 25. Summary Of The Conquest Of Hawaii After reading the article, The Conquest of Hawaii, my understanding of how Hawaii became a part of the United States has changed drastically. Originally, I had thought that Hawaii was conquered by the Europeans with reckless violence and torture towards the Hawaiians like how the Europeans conquered the Native American s land. I also had thought that the modern Hawaiian attitudes towards becoming U.S. citizens were narrow minded and hard headed because it was their land that the Europeans were taking away. After reading the article, I learned that Hawaii wasn t automatically conquered, but violence did occur and the Hawaiian s attitude towards annexation was supportive. According to the article, the conquest of the Hawaii started when a group ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a result, thousands of commoners arrived Hawaii to cut and haul sandalwood to the beaches. Food production suffered and starvation left many Natives in violent deaths. By 1843, whalers arrived Hawaii about the same time as the missioners did and by that time whaling became common in Hawaii. While Hawaiian merchants and chiefs got richer from the whaling industry, most Native Hawaiians suffered greatly. Hawaiians were excellent merchants, and young men were hired as sailors. Large numbers of native sailors on their journey did not return. Prostitution flourished, and native women were left barren by the very diseases spread by others. In 1778, when Cook arrived the Islands, the native population decreased to 200,000 and 300,000. In the 1830s, the sugar industry was introduced to Hawaii and by the mid 19th century, the production of sugar flourished in Hawaii. • 26. A Brief Article On Being An Atheist Response Paper on H.J. McCloskey article On being an atheist Name Course Date During the year 1968, an atheist philosopher H.J. McCloskey came up with a powerful argument about how being an atheist was greater than the theistic way of life. Through this article, McCloskey finds a way to condemn numerous arguments which theist consider as true and in most cases seem to mock and impeach the believers of God. Some of the arguments that McCloskey tries to diminish are the three mutual proofs that most theists depend upon for their belief in God. The proofs include; cosmological proof, teleological proof and the argument from design. McCloskey also talks about the complications of evil and how its presence rejects the truth about God. At the end of the article, he maintains that atheism is heartening, meaning that it is more calming than theism. Below are a detailed discussion and validity of the truth about the three claims that McCloskey wants to rebate in the article and finally dispute the problem of evil to censure the thought that atheism is cool and comforting1. McCloskey mostly insults the theistic opinion as one of ignorance and ambiguity. Referring to the believers of God, he say they do not think hard enough nor far enough about the difficulty of an uncaused reason, who has to be a unavoidably existing being to prove that the argument is far less conclusive than it appears to be at first sight. In addition, his reference of theists as being ignorant is clearly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Biological Transformation Of Bacteria And Pglo Plasmid Dna Abstract: Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering are highly involved with the genetic transformation of bacteria with the help of plasmid DNA. Genetic engineering ultimately alters genetic information using genetic material from another organism. The objective of the experiment was to accomplish genetic transformation using E.coli bacteria and pGLO plasmid DNA. PGLO carries an enzyme named β lactamase that offers resistance to the ampicillin antibiotic. Therefore, bacterial cells can grow and reproduce using pGLO. Four transformation plates containing E.coli were segregated into 2 groups of experimental and control groups. Two experimental plates comprised pGLO, but the control plates did not. One experimental plate contained ampicillin and pGLO. The second experimental plate consisted of ampicillin and arabinose along with pGLO. Contrarily, one control plate simply had ampicillin. The second control plate only stored E.coli cells. The results accepted the hypothesis since only the experimental plate with pGLO, ampillin and arabinose emitted green fluorescent light under UV light. This confirms that bacteria emit green flourescent light under UV light only when paired with pGLO and arabinose. However, other experiments have proven how modifying and using other plasmid DNA material can alter results substantially. Therefore, bacteria are certainly sensitive to the DNA material that is transforming them. It is undoubtedly beneficial to use the most advantageous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(Price Groff 13) She would be remembered for the young age at which she inherited the throne, but also for the confidence expressed in learning to master the techniques of ruling justly. When Victoria became Queen, England was already a constitutional monarchy. Government policies (laws) were made by the lawmakers and Prime Minister of Parliament, who were elected by the people. Because of the Industrial Revolution, the British experienced rapid progression in technology. This change was enjoyed by some, while others felt threatened. Victoria s nurse, Fraulein Lehzen, showed the princess a chart of the family lineage, making it clear to her that when her Uncle William died, she would inherit the throne. Governess Lehzen wrote of this episode and recorded Victoria s response to the information made known to her: I see I am nearer to the throne than I thought...I will be good! (14) Two years later, Sir Conroy and the duchess planned and prepared regular tours through England. The purpose of these annual excursions was to acquaint Victoria with her future subjects, and help her gain familiarity with the people. To further prepare her, Victoria s Uncle Leopold wrote many letters of advice on matters of state. (14, 15) On June 20, 1837, just four months after her eighteenth birthday, Victoria was paid a visit by the Archbishop of Canterbury, and Lord Conyngham. The concert took place on December 16 at the beacon theater in New York City and it lasted for approximately an hour. The concert opened with a performance by a ballerina with classical music. Then followed by the entrance of Mariah Carey, who was at the center of the stage. The visual of the concert I have to say personally was amazing and impressive, it had a big Christmas tree in the back and background with the stars and snowflakes hang from the ceilings, very Christmas like to me. Her band was dressed in white; she had backup singers and a choir right behind her. She began her concert with the famous Hark! Although she did not preform this song like she used to, I have to admit that it made me cry a little, it such a beautiful song and even though she made have sang it under peach, I appreciated her voice and she was still able to make the song her and put a lot of emotions to it. In 1989, the DRDO started developing the GTX 35VS Kaveri engine as an indigenous power plantto replace the General Electric F404 engines that were initially set to power the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), the Tejas, designed by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
