2. AGE
• The age for my target audience will be young adults between the age of 16
and 23. This is because stereotypically the majority of individuals younger
than 16 are more into the pop scene and pop music and as people grow
out of that they turn to alternate/rock music etc. I also have more
knowledge of people between these ages as I am also 16 and have friends
in that age range, therefor I can ask them questions and find out exactly
what they would like in a magazine directly from them.
3. GENDER
• The target audience for my alternate magazine will have no particular
gender therefore it will have a wider target market. I think the target
audience will be more female’s though as they appear to read music
magazines more. I am also a female so I will know what female’s would like
to read about and see in a magazine.
4. OCCUPATION
• My target audience would not have a specific occupation to keep my
target audience more open therefore there would be a wider range of
people to sell too. Also as it is a music magazine sales are mainly based on
the genre and the specific type of music and different occupations do not
decide what type of music an Individual listens too. I think quite a lot of the
target audience’s occupation will be ‘student’ as a large amount of people
between 16-23 study.
5. CLASS
• My target audience could be in any of A, B, C1, C2, D and E class. I think
that the class most likely to be in my target audience is in group E as the
class is for students with no income, and as my age range is between 16 and
23, most people will be in this class. I also have lots of friends in this class so I
could easily do research.
6. INTERESTS
• My target audience is people who listen to alternate/indie music, enjoy or
appreciate the genre. Stereotypically people who support alternate/indie
music are students who like going to gigs and listening to live music. People
who also listen to certain alternate/indie artists may be interested in the
magazine or a certain artist they know could draw them to reading the
magazine. People who listen/enjoy alternate music also stereotypically enjoy
using social media such as twitter, tumblr etc. So I could have promoted the
magazine on social media sites.
