Here are 9 out of 24 tips on how to overcome fear of failure. For 13 more tips of this type, click the link: http://vkool.com/how-to-overcome-fear-of-failure/.
1. Identify Causes
Identifying where the fear of failure starts is the first step to get over it. You should sit down, breathe deeply, and try to figure out why the fear of failure appeared. The reasons may be negative thoughts, pessimism, or wrong predictions.
2. Research Alternatives
You should think of as many potential consequences as possible. Doing it this way helps you aware of all difficulties you may have, and be able to determine what should be done for success.
You should prepare at least one alternative solution to use when the initial plan does not work.
3. Treat Failure As A Lesson
One of the most efficient tips on how to overcome fear of failure is to consider it a good lesson or experience. If you fail this time, you will still get something called experience. With this experience, you will get success easier next time.
4. Make A Concrete Plan
Making a concrete plan is another tip on how to overcome fear of failure. What you need to do is to prepare carefully for every single step in the plan. The more detailed your plan is, the easier the success comes.
5. Take Action
The best way to eliminate fear of failure is to take action. Practice makes perfect. Taking action is a chance to experience the facts and gain knowledge. If you dare not do anything, you will never know how to do them right. Everything is difficult when you do it the first time. After that, it will be easier.
6. Balance Your Life
No matter how important the success is, you should still balance your life with other activities rather than focusing on the success only. You should spend time doing your hobbies to refresh your body and mind so as to come closer to success.
7. Believe In Yourself
You should believe that if you try, you will be able to overcome difficulties. Do not give up easily. If you try hard, you will have chances to succeed no matter how hard the case is. If you give up, you will no longer have any chance to be successful.
8. Learn From Others
Learning from others’ stories or successes is also a tip on how to overcome fear of failure. Successful stories will encourage you to move forward. You can also learn from those people the way to carry out their plans for success.
9. Free Your Mind
This is the most important technique on how to overcome fear of failure at work and in life. The fear is from your mind. If your mind is full of negative or pessimistic thoughts, it will create fears. Therefore, you should learn to clean, and refresh your mind by doing yoga or meditation every day. The quieter the mind is, the better it can hear and see, and the easier you can get success.

Your Wish Is Your Command (Powerpoint presentation)Eric Patel
This is a PowerPoint slide deck based on the audio CD series called Your Wish Is Your Command by Kevin Trudeau. The slide's contents come directly from the CDs as I listened to them and contain the important points made during the program. I corresponded with Kevin via Twitter and he suggested that I post my presentation to slideshare.
Today’s modern professionals are busier than ever—doubly so for lawyers. With increased workloads, industry pressures, and distractions abounding, it’s become imperative that lawyers be capable of focusing on the task at hand to better serve their clients and themselves.
Enter mindfulness. Once the domain of people seeking spiritual health, the undeniable benefits of mindfulness have led to it being adopted and implemented by businesses from Fortune 500 companies to startups. Drawing on 12 years’ experience as a practicing attorney and mindfulness advocate, Jeena Cho (author of The Anxious Lawyer) covers:
- What ‘mindfulness’ is, and how it can benefit your business
- Simple tips for improving focus and productivity in your law firm
- How modern attorneys can ease stress and avoid burnout
How to have successful dialogue when stakes are high, opinions vary, and emotions run strong. Whether it's with a friend, a co-worker, or a loved one, how can you be 100% honest and yet 100% respectful?
My end of year reading included boosting resilience, reducing stress, adapting to change, becoming a better leader, and developing strategies for each of these important aspects of life, both personal and professional. I read a TON of Harvard Business review articles to school me up. This has been adapted from my HBR readings over the last week on how you can boost your resilience and get it in check. I hope you enjoy it!

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

1. How not to let your success drive your failure
Lessons from ‘Who moved my cheese’, Dr. Spencer Johnson
2. Having assets makes you happy
1. There are things in life, your wealth, possessions,
position, relationships, that make you happy.
2. You get so comfortable in these that the main focus
becomes how to protect what you have.
The more you love your assets the more
you fear losing them
3. Love of assets retards progress
1. The more important what you currently have is to
you, the more you will try to protect it.
2. Since progress means to let go what you have, in
order to have a chance to get what you want, this
attitude retards progress
An asset is only as good as its return
4. Only empty hands can hold
1. The less attachment you have to your current
possessions, status, situation, the easier it will be to
give it up in favor of new possibilities.
5. Planned redundancy
1. 1983 – ISABS (1985 Professional Membership)
2. 1983 – 1994 training 45 days/year (30 vacation + 15 unpaid leave)
3. established in 1994
4. Continuous learning: Experience, documentation, evaluation,
risk, customer feedback, decision making
5. 1997 – 2000 American experience
You can only do it if you have passion
6. Exercise: Identify your Assets
1. Please list those things that are important to you in
order of priority
2. Now rate them in terms of how much you fear losing
them
3. Then think of what you are giving up to hold on to what
you have
Does risk excite you?
7. How to make good mistakes and what to do when
you make them
The Importance of Making Mistakes – John Cleese
8.
9. What time is it now?
Give me an answer with no
chance of making a mistake
10. Ask, “Why are we afraid?’
What is the word for a
reasonable try that did not
succeed?
12. Lesson
1. As a result of making hundreds of mistakes,
eventually the space probe succeeds in avoiding the
only mistake which would really have mattered…..
2. Missing the target
13.
14. Redundancy is a law of nature
1. When boundary conditions change you need to
adapt to them. Otherwise you will perish.
2. Adapting however, only guarantees survival – not
growth or development
15. How do you know when you are
reaching your redundancy limit?
1. In order to be able to anticipate impending changes, you
need to be constantly aware of your environment and the
conditions that impact it.
2. This awareness should relate both to time and space -
historical and geographic perspective. Who are you and
how do you fit into the larger scheme of things?
16.
17. Environmental Scanning
1. When was the last time you scanned your
environment to assess your own market value?
2. What was the result?
3. What do you intend to do to enhance your worth?
18. What are you doing to keep fit?
1. Constantly challenging yourself – the dynamics of
deliberate discomfort, created to combat
complacency – is the key to development.
2. Constant and continuous self development and
learning, challenging yourself to new heights once
you have achieved your current goals.
19.
20. When you move beyond your fear,
you truly become free
1. Everyone starts from being afraid. Fear is a sign of
intelligence, that you recognize the enormity of the goal.
2. However to get ahead it is necessary to conquer that fear
and to move beyond that. To move despite it. To use it as
the engine of energy to move you forward.
3. When you do that you set yourself free from fear.
21.
22. Old beliefs do not
lead you to new discoveries
“The significant problems we face cannot be solved at
the same level of thinking we used when we
created them.” ~ Albert Einstein
23. What would you do
if you weren’t afraid?
1. For growth and development, you need to
anticipate change and prepare for it while the need
is still not clearly evident.
2. For this it is essential to conquer fear. Ask yourself,
what you would do if you were not afraid.
24. What would I do…..
1. Ask yourself: What would I do if I wasn’t afraid?
2. Write down your thoughts………..
3. Don’t allow any thought about the practicality of
your dreams to intervene.
Dreams are supposed to be impractical
25. Imagine what the new world will be like
1. Visualization and other such techniques help to
conquer the fear and to find new direction.
2. Ask yourself, “How would it feel to have what I
want? What does that mean to me? How important
is that to me?”
Adapt quickly
Speed is a competitive advantage
26.
27.
28. Celebrate small achievements
1. Small changes are not only good signs of what is to come
but they are also easier to adapt to and less costly to
make.
2. So if you are aware of them you can significantly shorten
your learning curve and reduce time-to-market for your
product and make it highly responsive to customer need.
29. Risk enables success.
Success breeds success
1. Once you start making an effort you will see signs
of success. This will enhance your confidence and
enable you to realize your dreams.
31. It is safer to search for new horizons
than to hide behind fortress walls
1. The safest place for a ship is the harbor.
2. But ships are not made to stay in harbors
Flowing water moves mountains.
Stagnant water, stinks
32. The Writing on the Wall
1. Change Happens
Boundary conditions change beyond your control
2. Anticipate new conditions
Prepare for change before it happens
3. Adapt to Change Quickly
Take decisive action fast. The longer you take the more
painful it will be to change.
33. The Writing on the Wall
4. Consolidate the new situation
Capitalize the new assets
5. Enjoy Change
Enjoy the new state of being
35. Change derailers
1. False sense of urgency (negative effect of speed)
2. Need for instant gratification
3. Lack of clarity about strategy and plan
4. Not noticing the small wins
Success is the inevitable result of intelligent effort
36. Realities
1. Success comes before work only in the dictionary
2. Fear hides behind many masks
3. Priorities cost, but not prioritizing costs more
4. You have to give up something to get something
Do what you love and you will always love
what you do
