Thought Share
Today I will teach like I’ve never taught before.
1. For how many of you is it a teacher?
2. What do you think your students would say if they
were here and I asked them the same question?
Think of your Role Model
Does this matter at all?
1. When someone studies something for 15 years?
2. Why then does nothing happen when our children study
in our schools for 15 years?
3. If you are concerned, what have you done to change this
system?
What must happen?
What are you preparing the children for?
1. What would change as a result of this?
2. What would be the cost to you?
3. Do you think it will be worth it?
What if you changed?

Why are you a teacher?
1. Every day parents come to your door and hand
over to you their most precious assets
2. What do you do with them?
Something strange
Do you see this as a
responsibility in this way?
The first casualty of schooling is
imagination.
The second is independence.
Confidence dies on its own of a
broken heart.
This is called Graduation.
Our schooling slaughters
imagination at the altar of
practicality.
Practicality is defined by the past.
Imagination defines the future.
There's no demand until you show
possibilities.
So imagination is far more
important than intelligence.
IQ should mean Imagination
Quotient.
1. Google processes 100 billion searches a month
2. That’s an average of 40,000 searches per second
3. Every day, 15% (new): never been asked before

Curiosity is stimulated when there are answers
1. Sugata Mitra’s experiments with teaching children to
operate computers show that teachers are not
necessary
2. With almost everything you need to know, available
on the net, free, why do we need teachers?

1. Facilitate self-learning by teaching through projects
2. Guide by asking intelligent questions
3. Be open to new conclusions and ideas
4. Help them to integrate different areas of
knowledge to reach applicable solutions
Integrated Teaching
Be prepared to learn yourself
1. There are two kinds of people:
 Influencers & Consumers
2. They have very different trajectories & endings
3. What must you do as a teacher/parent to move yourself
and your children/students to become Influencers?
What does this mean?
What is the cost of not changing?
1. For those who aspire to lead in this world, how does
our education prepare them to do that?
2. What must change in our attitudes, methods & focus
with respect to technology & education?
3. What does that mean in terms of investment & pain?
Big question
Are we ready? If not, what is the alternative?
Our

Because today’s ‘great idea’ can
become tomorrow’s problem
To solve problems that we don’t
even know as ‘problems’ yet

But our schools
destroy it in the child
as quickly as they can
Our system
rewards compliance
and punishes originality

  • 2. Today I will teach like I’ve never taught before.
  • 3. 1. For how many of you is it a teacher? 2. What do you think your students would say if they were here and I asked them the same question? Think of your Role Model Does this matter at all?
  • 4. 1. When someone studies something for 15 years? 2. Why then does nothing happen when our children study in our schools for 15 years? 3. If you are concerned, what have you done to change this system? What must happen? What are you preparing the children for?
  • 5. 1. What would change as a result of this? 2. What would be the cost to you? 3. Do you think it will be worth it? What if you changed? 5 Why are you a teacher?
  • 6. 1. Every day parents come to your door and hand over to you their most precious assets 2. What do you do with them? Something strange Do you see this as a responsibility in this way?
  • 7. The first casualty of schooling is imagination. The second is independence. Confidence dies on its own of a broken heart. This is called Graduation.
  • 8. Our schooling slaughters imagination at the altar of practicality. Practicality is defined by the past. Imagination defines the future.
  • 9. There's no demand until you show possibilities. So imagination is far more important than intelligence. IQ should mean Imagination Quotient.
  • 10. 1. Google processes 100 billion searches a month 2. That’s an average of 40,000 searches per second 3. Every day, 15% (new): never been asked before Google Statistics Curiosity is stimulated when there are answers
  • 11. 1. Sugata Mitra’s experiments with teaching children to operate computers show that teachers are not necessary 2. With almost everything you need to know, available on the net, free, why do we need teachers? Are teachers necessary? For what do we need teachers?

  • 14. 1. Facilitate self-learning by teaching through projects 2. Guide by asking intelligent questions 3. Be open to new conclusions and ideas 4. Help them to integrate different areas of knowledge to reach applicable solutions Integrated Teaching Be prepared to learn yourself
  • 15. 1. There are two kinds of people:  Influencers & Consumers 2. They have very different trajectories & endings 3. What must you do as a teacher/parent to move yourself and your children/students to become Influencers? What does this mean? What is the cost of not changing?
  • 16. 1. For those who aspire to lead in this world, how does our education prepare them to do that? 2. What must change in our attitudes, methods & focus with respect to technology & education? 3. What does that mean in terms of investment & pain? Big question Are we ready? If not, what is the alternative?
  • 18. Because today’s ‘great idea’ can become tomorrow’s problem To solve problems that we don’t even know as ‘problems’ yet
  • 20. Our biggest need therefore CURIOSITY & IMAGINATION
  • 21. But our schools destroy it in the child as quickly as they can Our system rewards compliance and punishes originality
  • 22. What is your metric? What do you do with curiosity & imagination in your school?
  • 23. Our problems are not due to lack of knowledge or technology but due to a lack of compassion
  • 24. Children listen with their eyes
  • 26. 1. What are your children seeing every day when they are with you? 2. Would you be happy with a teacher like yourself for your own child? 3. Are you an aspirational teacher the child will remember and mention with honor when he is 50 years old? Seeing What is the data to support your answer?
  • 27. You can only give what you have. So, what do you have?
  • 28. 1. What did you do in the last 6 months to develop yourself? 2. What is the measurement of that? 3. What did you invest? 4. What is your investment plan in self-development for the next 6 months? What do you have? If it is not written down, it doesn’t exist
