How I developed HR Teams – Center of Excellence

When developing an HR team:

   1. I always understand the team development needs and strengthens
   2. Have a clear objective of where I want to go with the team
   3. I develop 3 things:
          o Passion – Have HR passion to never stop knocking on doors for opportunities to
              engage
          o Intellect – Smart enough to know what the right thing to do is and be politically
              savvy to know what not the right thing to do is.
          o Curiosity – Driven enough to always want to make things better – continuous
              improvements
   4. Make decisions quickly but correctly – get the right people on the team bus
   5. Surround myself with people who are better & have confidence
   6. HR people that are self-motivation is key

Being part of awinning team:

   1.   If have the right people, the function will drive itself
   2.   Culture has to be demonstrated – it’s not that easy to “create”
   3.   Do 100 things 1% better – aggregation of small things – detailed orientation
   4.   Being in a great team means constantly challenging yourself and your teammates

Leading an HR Team:

   1.   A great team starts with the right leader – driven &belief & humility& respect
   2.   Create a HR team that wants to supporteach other
   3.   Create lots of team activities – some social
   4.   Core values – honesty, discipline, work rate, presence and deliverables
   5.   If something is wrong, ask “what do we have & what can we turn it into?”
   6.   Give people the belief that they can do it – lead from the front
   7.   Build a group of people (team) you can truly trustand trust you
   8.   Regularly audit yourself – are you giving the best to your people and they in return
   9.   Think correctly under pressure – be a leader, show confidence, poise and results.
