What have you learnt from your audience feedback?
Our questionnairesHere is a video of students in our class watching our final five minutes, listening to our radio trailer and viewing our radio advert and also answering the questionnaires we gave them:(Click on the video to play)
Positive feedback from our audience questionnaires (Documentary)Overall, very positive feedback. Some questions based on score of 1-5 (1 being low, 5 being high). We had an average of four on questions about how interesting the documentary was as well as how informative it was. Also with an average of four was questions about the standard of out vox-pops, cut-aways and the mise-en-scene of our interviews. There were also positive comments about how the programme was edited together such as: ‘The editing was very precise’ and ‘The editing flowed very well’.When we asked if the trailer would make you want to watch the rest of the actual programme we had a 100% ‘Yes’ rate. When it came to the opening titles, at least five people put additional comments complimenting them. Finally, the music received mainly good feedback with people saying the it fit well with the mood of our documentary and was a good choice.
Negative feedback from our audience questionnaires (Documentary)The main criticisms were about our voice over. Some people said that it sounded rushed and was therefore not as easily audible as it should have been.As well as the voiceover being rushed, some o the music was slightly too loud which made it even more difficult to understand. There were also comments like ‘The voiceover lacked enthusiasm about the subject’.The other criticism we got was about the cut-aways.Some of the feedback said that they were too repetitive and boring .
Positive feedback from internet uploads (Documentary)We uploaded the video to Facebook and here is a screenshot of the comments we received:We also put the video on YouTube, it has so far received 54 views but no likes/dislikes.These comments are very positive overall and show that the product was popular.
The comments again focused on the stop-animation at the beginning, saying it was .really good’.
Other comments say that it would make them want to watch the rest of the documentaryNegative feedback from internet uploads (Documentary)Here are the negative comments we received:As you can see there was only one negative comment and it was about the voiceover again. It says that it was said to quickly and it was too quiet.
Positive feedback from our audience questionnaires (Adverts)This also generated largely positive feedback. There was, again, an average of four out of five for the effectiveness of the adverts and how interesting they were. There was also a 100% ‘Yes’ rate when we asked it the adverts would make the viewers want to watch the actual programme. For the print advert there were comments like ‘It was very eye-catching’ and ‘You have followed the codes and conventions of a Channel 4 advert very well’.The radio similarly positive feedback with people saying ‘The choice of extracts was excellent’ and ‘The music worked well with the mood of the advert’.
Negative feedback from our audience questionnaires (Adverts)There were few negative comments on our audience questionnaires. The only negative comment was about the print advert and it was that ‘The image should have been bigger’.
Positive feedback from internet uploads (Adverts)We put the print advert on Facebook and here is a screenshot of the comments we received:The feedback from Facebook was also very positive.
There were a few comments saying that the colours look good and work well together.
