2. Research and planning stage
• I have learnt a lot about technologies during the
process of constructing my product. During the
research and planning stage of my opening sequence I
used YouTube and Vimeo to research exciting opening
sequences to identify connotations of the genre.
• I also used Google to research the genre of coming of
age before actually filming any of my work, to identify
mise-en-scene and connotations of coming of age
films.
• I also used websites like these to do
research into my target audience.
3. Filming
• Filming was quite difficult for me as I had only
used the cameras once when filming the first
task we got given and I didn’t have the most
input in the filming more of the editing. I
filmed various shots to add to my opening
sequence, I tried a panning shot which proved
to be difficult and I don’t think it was quite
perfect due to not having the technology to
film it professionally.
4. Editing
• I believe that editing was the most difficult part
of the process for me and the area which I learnt
the most about throughout the creation of my
opening sequence. I was unfamiliar with the use
of iMacs and the applications on this kind of
computer that were available to use as editing
software for my film. I edited my film using
iMovie. Which is an application on the iMacs that
you can use to upload the footage you have
filmed and edit your small pieces of footage
together to created a film. It allowed me to add
transitions from one clip to another in order to
create verisimilitude and a flowing film.
