4. How did you use new media
technologies in the construction
   and research, planning and
       evaluation stages?
Research
The main piece of technology is used for the
research stage of my production are search
engines, almost all through Google, Wikipedia and
YouTube. This gave me the means to: find images
and videos to help express what I was trying to
explain; find facts and data to support what I was
explaining. Print screens from sections of other
music videos was useful to give examples when I
was researching similar music videos.
Planning
To generate ideas for my products I firstly
generated a brainstorm of ideas using Microsoft
publisher this made it look more presentable for
my blog after I roughly drafted one on paper.
Filming
To film I used the camera on my ‘Samsung Galaxy
S2’ this was beneficial because it was easy to
transport and there was no risk that a camera
would be booked out by any other student for
when I needed to film as it was my own. I chose this
over a traditional camcorder because the quality of
the camera, at 1080p HD resolution, far surpassed
any other video recording device I would have been
able to obtain. To create steady shots with the
camera I used a miniature tripod designed
specifically for the phone.
Ancillary Production
Initially I struggled using Photoshop because I
have not much previous experience using the
software and as such my first drafts looked
extremely poor and amateur. However after
researching the software through search
engines and having been given advice by peers
and teachers I managed to create products that
were relative to the band at a high standard.
Editing
Adobe Premiere Pro was the software in
which I chose to edit my product. I found
the software relatively easy to use as I
have used the software on previous
projects. However there was some
problems that I encountered mainly being
exporting my video as ‘Quicktime’ was not
installed. However after this was resolved
the editing process was overall a successful
process.
Evaluation
I tried to answer each question in the evaluation
by using a different form of presentation, these
include a ‘Prezi’ which is a way of presenting all
multimedia easily which is simple for the
audience to navigate whilst holding there
attention.
