A. Water Treatment Section
This consists of all the equipment required for processing of water. Broadly it can be
further classified in to Pre-filtration, which involves removal of physical impurities,
odor from the Raw Water. Next is RO Filtration that is nothing but the membrane
filtration which is called as reverse Osmosis technology [RO]. Then Post filtration
which may have U. V., Ozonation, added Minerals etc.
B. Bottle Making Section:
The Bottles used in Mineral Water Plant are PET Bottles. Very small Bottles looking like
test tube are blown with very high pressure Air in to a bottle shaped mould. This is how
a PET bottle is made. The small bottle [Test tube like] used is called as a perform. The
perform are made from plastic granuals.
Usually majority of Mineral Water Plants use ready made performs, I mean, nobody
bothers to create performs. Hence we shall talk about how to make a bottle from
perform.

2. It will have the following set of machines.
1. High Pressure Air Compressor: It supplies high pressure
air[20 kg/cm-sq] to the blowing machine.
2. Preform Heater : The performs are required to be totally dry
before being blown to maintain the bottle quality. So, the
heater preheats them to rem ove moisture content from
them.
3. Preform Conveyor : Empty performs are taken to the heater
& taken out through this conveyor.
4. Blowing Machine : On this machine the cavity [ Mould] is
mounted. Preforms are blown with the high pressure Air
achieved from Compressor
& a
bottle
is made. These
machines may be semi/fully automatic & can have 2/4/6
Cavities or more as per requirement.
5. Mould : This is the Cavity [ Shape] in to which a bottle is blown.
6. Mould Chiller : As the temperature during the Bottled blowing is very high, it may
distract the bottle shape. Hence the mould Chiller constantly circulates cold water in
to it.
C. Bottle Filling Packing Section :
For this purpose the Rinse – Fill – Capping machines very
popular. An empty PET Bottle is fed to the RFC machine [Rising –
Filling –Capping machines] on which it is rinsed , filled with
appropriate quantity , & a Cap is applied at a Capping Station.
These machines are available in 30 , 40, 60, 100, 120 & more BPM
[Bottles Per Minute] Capacity.
D. Jar Filling & Packing Section
Jars are bigger in size so need bigger space for handling at
the same time the quantity [in numbers] is less compared
to bottles hence a little manhandling can be practiced . So
Jar feeding & take off can be manual. Other things like
rinsing, filling. Capping can be automatic. These machines
are available in Capacities like 120, 240, 360
& more

3. E. Pouch Packing Machine
Usually the pouches are made from a single roll of food grade
plastic. The Roll Forming, Water Filling & pouch sealing are
automatic processes.
That is why they are called FFS [Form-Fill-Seal] machines. The
speed of the machines are 3300-4600 pouches per hour.
F. Utilities :
Utilities are nothing but the supportive equipment necessary
for plant operation. They can be :

Coaling Tower
3.
Generator
4.
All Electricals
5.
A/C & Refrigeration etc.
