foundation for 555 similar schemes of
water projects.

Six New Water Testing Laboratories In Odisha
• CM Patnaik also launched six new water testing laboratories set up at
Bhubaneswar (state level laboratory) and other the five regional water
testing laboratories at Puri, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Cuttack and Baripada
for water quality surveillance and monitoring. There is plan to establish
two more water testing laboratories in Berhampur and Balasore soon.
• A senior official said that, earlier when there was a situation of outbreak
of water borne diseases officials used sent the water samples to the
National Institute of Virology, Pune for detection of bacteria and virus
because of lack of laboratory in state. But, now thanks to this water
testing laboratories, it is possible to get result within three hours.
