Pune is Planning for Groundwater Augmentation On the account of, increased demand of water consumption, Pune Municipal Corporation is planning to boost groundwater with active participation of citizen. A 3 – tier architecture framework was carefully studied and was implemented to create the Webbased model. This model is an Internet Based Model that is created to benefit the users in the water management sectors in order to make timely decisions to develop the water user group’s inline with the tertiary canal. This system has been successfully developed to estimate the water productivity index and pH of soil on a micro scale based on the tertiary canal water user groups with the plot numbers alongside to allocate water without wastage. India is a large country with some very significant water-related problems. According to a 2018 Niti Aayog assessment, by 2030, almost half of India’s 600 million inhabitants may experience acute water shortage. The quality of the nation’s water is likewise subpar. The contamination rate in India’s water supply is close to 70%. The two main pollutants are nitrate and iron. Even worse, India’s groundwater supply is gradually depleting. Out of 700 districts, 256 have reported “over-exploited” or “critical” groundwater levels. Involving the community with NGO working for water conservation in Maharashtra can be a terrific strategy to better equip people to address climate change.

India is a large country with some very significant water-related problems. According to a 2018 Niti Aayog assessment, by 2030, almost half of India’s 600 million inhabitants may experience acute water shortage. The quality of the nation’s water is likewise subpar. The contamination rate in India’s water supply is close to 70%. The two main pollutants are nitrate and iron. Even worse, India’s groundwater supply is gradually depleting. Out of 700 districts, 256 have reported “over-exploited” or “critical” groundwater levels. Involving the community with NGO working for water conservation in Maharashtra can be a terrific strategy to better equip people to address climate change.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched 182 drinking water supply projects costing 157 crores rupees aimed at providing drinking water access to over 6 lakh people across 74 urban local bodies. He also launched six new water testing laboratories in Bhubaneswar, Puri, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Cuttack, and Baripada to allow for local water quality monitoring and testing within three hours, rather than sending samples to Pune. Raid on the stalls at western railway stations for overpricing water bottle
Government authorities in Mumbai raided stalls at railway stations on the western line for overpricing packaged drinking water. Several cases were filed against stall owners for not displaying the maximum retail price (MRP), charging more than the MRP, and smudging the printed MRP. The additional director general of police said they are investigating owners of the stalls and will take action. He also said they will consider complaints about overpricing from passengers at other railway stations.

Bromate is a chemical produced by the ozonisation process used to disinfect water in packaged drinking water plants, and it can cause cancer and other health issues. Testing of bromate levels in packaged water is compulsory for plants according to Indian standards.

The first water ATM was inaugurated in Hyderabad by the Telangana Home Minister. It was launched through a partnership between Safe Water Network, a global NGO, and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. The water ATMs will provide affordable and accessible safe water 24/7 to residents. They use a seven step water purification process that adheres to national standards and are connected through cloud-based technology for remote monitoring.

On the account of, increased demand of water consumption, Pune Municipal Corporation is planning to boost groundwater with active participation of citizen. The activists appealed to the mayor to prioritize groundwater augmentation and mayor agreed on it. In the meeting of activists and mayor, Activists also proposed for suspending concreting of roads because it is not allowing the rainwater to absorb and percolate but the matter remained inconclusive. Topics like Maps of the areas, water bodies, recharging of bore wells by channeling rainwater underground and groundwater levels were also discussed in this meeting. Activists expressed hope of some meaningful actions form PMC and also happy as the civic body establishing the first-ever groundwater management cell that will be followed by all cities in the Smart City Mission across the country.
