Electronic Equipment and Other Devices  Cell phones and electronics may not be seen or used between the hours of 7:20a.m. to 2:10 p.m.  If seen, they will be confiscated and given to an administrator for parent pick up/or more consequences.  Beepers, pagers, and laser pointers are not to be brought to school at all. Also review the following OMHS Policies and Procedures in the Student Planner below: Standards of Dress  Class Cutting Lateness to Class Lateness to school Regular Bell Schedule and Two-Hour late Opening and Three-Hour  Computing Your Final Grade  2nd Period Teachers – Announce & Review
Behavior Expectations: Formal Environment Dress Follow school dress code. No visible/audible  hats/electronic devices Professionally - for work, not for socializing. Language Low volume and calm tone. Positive language – no swearing. Address teacher as Mr. or Mrs. Wait to be acknowledged before speaking. Attitude Expecting to work. Wanting to succeed. Encouraging others. Respecting diversity Preparation Meet deadlines Bring a pencil, pen and any other required equipment. In seat  before  late bell. Actions Eat or Drink  before  class. Remain in seats during instruction. Help others to learn by avoiding distracting behaviors.
Classroom Consequences Stage 1   Verbal Warning pointing out the problem. Stage 2   Seat change in classroom, 30 minute after school detention with teacher and possible parent / guardian phone call. Stage 3 Isolation from classroom, 1 hour after school detention with teacher and parent / guardian phone call. Stage 4   Referral to administration. NB  Some infringements may merit immediate application of stages 2, 3 or 4

What do you need to know about WHAP? AP Test But not just about the test… Work outside the classroom is more important than the work within Bookends for each week People have survived! 20/35 taking World Religions this year
Grading Policy All work you submit should be neatly presented (word processed or written in ink  not  pencil), titled, named and dated. Classwork and homework -   20% Quizzes  (always announced) -  30%   Tests / Essays / Quarterly paper / projects - 40% Participation - 10%   If you are absent you should see the teacher during the next class and discover what work you have missed.  A deadline will be set and all work submitted by the deadline will receive full credit. Late work – one day late = 10% reduction.  More than one day – no credit without prior arrangement.
